Gid made his way into the work areas and shook his head a little again trying to clear it as sounds were reaching his ears again. That had been, one heck of a meeting. Taking a deep breath he looked around hoping to spot at least one of his employees from the meeting. He wanted to make sure everyone was okay at least and no one had any permanent damage from the curse! |
Quote:
Who was.... sort of... his partner. Of all things. Still weird to think about. He did notice the new department head coming into the work area, and Angelo lifted his gaze from the parchment in front of him, surveying the older (much older, apparently) man. "Are you better, sir?"Too bad the shield he'd used hadn't been enough to protect everyone, but then other than himself and his brother and those who were incidentally close by, his priority had been the minister. |
Tyler had walked to the department of transportation after the whole excitement of the meeting had calmed down. With all that sorted off he made his way back to his department to put the documentation together. With Cambridge on the outs so often he found he had to do a lot of the paper work which he'd usually leave her to do..but alas. He gave the department head a nod in acknowledgment, same for the YATI before walking to Alexa's desk to drop off the document. Finally they had more intel and could resume their preparation on the bust that had not gone very well for them the last time they had confronted the criminals. |
Text Cut: Angelo Gid looked towards where the voice had come from. Thank merlin he could hear again! "I'm doing okay now." he said nodding his eyes carefully looking over the young man. "How are you? Did you have any affects from the monkey thing?" Please tell him that the whole department weren't walking around deaf or anything else! He already had to write up an incident report on what had happened and try and explain that to the minister. That he wasn't all that excited about! Text Cut: Tyler He spotted Tyler as he walked through the department towards Cambridge's desk and nodded back "Are you alright Tyler?" he asked as he passed. "Any affects that you suffered?" |
Quote:
"I'm fine. I excused myself before the box was opened." He then moved to his desk and sat down. "I trust the other members were diligent enough to protect themselves from whatever was unleashed?" |

Lex was fine, of course she was. Even if Angelo hadn't cast his shield that stretched toward her side of the table, her own wand had been drawn and she'd gotten off her own shield. Curses were great and all but she never fancied herself the target of them. Today was not the day something would go horribly wrong with the kid she was incubating simply because someone else lacked the common sense to NOT take cursed items with the to meetings. Not at all. The Auror was already back at her desk when the others began trickling in. Looked like the bossman was still breathing. That was always a good sign. The stack of documents off-loaded on her desk drew her attention from everyone in the room and the conversation Tyler was having with their Department Head. Hazel eyes scanned paper after paper. When she thought she'd seen enough, she lowered them, casting her gaze to her partner. "How soon can we leave?" As in, she was ready, right now. Right before Legend could walk in and tell her otherwise. |
Simon’s mood had certainly changed from how it had been when he had arrived earlier this morning. Finding out a coworker had allowed a potentially dangerous item not only into the Ministry, or even into the department, but into a meeting that involved the Minister’s appearance would certainly do that to you. And then she had allowed it to go off on members of the department as well and he had lost his sight, albeit temporarily thankfully, which had been the icing on the cake for his annoyance. Which was certainly saying something since usually the likes of Legend in a particular mood or Roxanne and Sky Carter being themselves could really push his buttons. After his recovery and checking on the fact that the offensive box was indeed secure, the security man returned to the office. Simon sat down at his desk with a sigh absently rubbing his eyes as if his vision was still a concern to him. That had been horrid---his vision was his life…his career. One couldn’t exactly be observant and watchful of security issues and threats when one couldn’t see it. Well he could have possibly have relied on magic to repeatedly scan in hopes that his work covered everything but it wouldn’t have been the same. He wouldn’t have been the same. It was the pirate take-over all over again. But thankfully over. |

For ERN! Tempest made her way to her desk, the frustration setting in. But she refused to become negative. Hitting dead ends was sometimes part of the job but the worst part was knowing that something was right under your nose, at the tip of your tongue and having no proof. She couldn't move on without proof. But it was horribly clear to her that there were quite a few Pureblood families in the UK taking part in illegal activity. Mafias for lack of a better term. The blonde wanted to form a task force to hunt down such people.. and while she had names like Morganzo and Blaze it was tough building cases. These people were good, they covered their tracks and with a lack of CIs here it was harder getting information. Leaning on her elbows she took the New York City snowglobe and shook it a little, missing home for the first time in a bit. Maybe she'd go back for Christmas. |
Quote:
"File your warrants and stop goofing around." Or whatever was going on with the snowglobe. It wasn't more important than getting her files in order. Vivi swapped out the framed photos on her desk, a dark-haired toddler and gap-toothed twins with hands that looked sticky even from ten feet away. Honestly, if they weren't hers, Vivi wouldn't touch those three with a ten foot pole. Kids were messy. Other people's kids were worse. |
Quote:
"I have reason to believe there are different families here in the UK working as crime syndicates, selling and buying illegal goods right under our noses.. and names are easy enough to come by but enough proof to bring to anyone is tough. I haven't been here long enough to cultivate a relationship with a trustworthy CI just yet." Surely Auror James wouldn't think she was insane? Because these families have clearly been operating like this for years and no one had done a thing.. She couldn't be the only one to notice. But she also knew she had a hard time giving up. Would she even believe it if someone told her she was wrong when her gut was saying she was very very right? |
Quote:
That felt kind of harsh. She fidgeted with the picture of Kizzy. And sighed. "What have you got? If I'm going to give up any of my CI's, it has to be pretty compelling." |

one of which brought all sorts of mayhem to her own city once and that maybe if the Ministry would be less worried about upsetting the community Auror work could actually be done! But Tempest wasn't a child, nor was she new to this job. Being at MACUSA for all of her adult life up until recently taught her when to shut her mouth and when to listen. Auror James had clearly been here longer and knew how things work. Working against the system would only make her life harder. So instead she bit her lip and looked back at the snowglobe of her home. And her silence seemed to pay off, Blue eyes lighting up just a little as her fellow Auror asked about what she'd gathered. "This is everything." Tempest pulled a file from the creaky drawer in her desk. "The Blaze family.. Well i've heard their name a good bit in other cases. They have a Private Investigator business.. Which didn't seem odd at first. But I overhead a few men talking in Knockturn about contacting them if you want someone to disappear." She shrugged. "I thought nothing of it at first but then i did some poking around.. Their financial records don't exactly add up.. I think the business is a front and they're using it to launder money. But of course that doesn't prove everyone in the family is involved but a good bit of them work there." She displayed the financial records she'd obtained, it was from the last few years, so nothing current but it seemed pretty regular. Her father had always told her if things don't add up to follow the money. "Now Morganzo is a different story. They're much more out in the open, no front, no money laundering. The family has been wealthy for generations but that doesn't explain where the money is coming from when no one in the family has any sort of legitimate business." There was also the fact that this old Scottish family sent the males in the family to Durmstrang, hardly evidence but why send them there if not to learn about the dark arts? She wouldn't voice this opinion. "The thing here is i haven't found much other than a connection between a man named Mathias Winters and a load of missing muggles. Winters is a known associate of one Darius Morganzo, head of the Morganzo family." She showed the pictures of the two men. "I've heard if you want things that the Ministry doesn't allow to be sold this is the guy to get it through." There was also the thing about the missing muggles and she wasn't really sure what was going on there.. Her imagination was running wild though. "Basically i need to find where they do their operations. I would have to guess they move things in some sort of muggle way? Like on ships? Something that can't be tracked by magic." But there had to be a million ports in the UK. How could she know which to use? |
Quote:
"Keep it under your hat for now, but it's a start." Vivi flipped haphazardly through the file before pushing it back to Chandler. "You don't have anything firm. I'd suggest we start by spending some time down on Knockturn. Perhaps in disguise, although you're new so they shouldn't recognize you right off yet. Have you taken this to the boss yet?" Because if not, Vivi should sit in and help smooth it over. Or maybe she just sort of missed field work. She'd been desk-bound for a while now, but Kizzy was a toddler and Vivi could put herself in danger again. |

Tempest knew these were powerful people. But she also knew she'd devoted her life to upholding the law and protecting the innocent. It was strange though, back in New York her family was one of the rich and powerful ones and here she was basically a nobody, aside from her Auror status. She took the file back and placed it in the creaky drawer once again. "That's why i'm slowly working on it." She knew it was an uphill battle but she wasn't easily discouraged. "We?" Clearly the idea of having a partner on this excited Tempest. She found with investigations it was easier to have someone to talk to, sometimes a new set of eyes could see something that hers couldn't. "Knockturn sounds like the perfect place to start.. Maybe i could pretend to be in need of something a little less than legal." Because that was always the best way to catch someone red handed. "I haven't talked to the boss yet, i wanted to find a little more. I know these families are powerful but that's why they shouldn't be allowed to operate anymore. I'm thinking about proposing a task force to deal with them." |
MLE intern is here! For Noelle and anyone wants to play with her. A few months ago, she applied for an internship at the ministry and they placed her in department of magical law enforcement along with Noelle! Wasn't this great? Ava had talked about her career options with Professor Hirsch before the term ended and he really supported her decision to choose the path in law end of enforcement area. She had been waiting for this day and she was excited+nervous about this. The Gryffindor was sure to dress nicely and appropriately for an office work, tried to behave nicely and make the good first impression. As Mr. Yenorin had said, she and Noelle walked to the auror cubicle area. Okay, now the people there would think they were lost kids who's trying to find their mommy or something. What were they going to do now? Just waiting? |
Hope you don't mind ^^ Quote:
Walking into the office, the young woman made her way to her desk, removing the several curses and hexes she'd placed on it before plopping down into her seat. It was then that she noticed them--hard to miss in this setting when they were gonna dress like that. Merlin, at least the YATI's never came to work looking like such fresh meat. She'd say time would change this but unless they did exceptionally well and got into the program officially, she didn't think they'd ever really get rid of that look. The Auror kicked her feet up onto her desk, reaching for a file while she gave them a look over. One she remembered all too well, the other she didn't know. "How comfy are you outing someone in that?" She asked simply. It was a nice shirt. Not one to get messy. The shoes would do her precious little good if a chase began...though Lex suspected Gid would never let them. Lock 'em away in a safe probably. MLE wouldn't be taking responsibility for any deaths so it would make sense. |
Hope you two don't mind <3 SPOILER!!: Ava and Lex She was in the Ministry. She was in the MLE department. She was with Ava. All the internal squealing was going on while Noelle made her way over to Ava. Was she nervous? Yeah. Was she excited? MERLIN YES. She was hoping to maybe catch a glimpse of Frankie. She'd somewhat trained with him when he was at Hogwarts. But there was ONE person that she was definitely hoping to catch a glimpse of. ......... And that person was sitting right in front of her. That person had just walked by, sat down, put her feet on her desk, and grabbed a file. And now.... she was talking to her. Or rather them because Ava was right beside her. \ MEEP. Alexa Cambridge. Aka the girl that saved her from the dungeons. Literal savior right there. Noelle blushed from head to toe when she started talking to them. What was she saying? Outing? Huh? Noelle looked down at her outfit. She was dressed properly. Professionally. But no skirt, because she wasn't sure what they were going to be doing. She glanced at Alexa's outfit and noticed a big difference. "I'm guessing we should have worn something similar to what you're wearing?" She asked, finding her voice. Her cheeks red. |
yo yo yo *waves to you guys* Exceptionally large mug of coffee in hand, Ryu stepped into the work space for a bit of paperwork he needed to cross reference. This whole having no personal work station was rather inconvenient and inefficient to say the least, but he could make due with juggling his paperwork. Had thus far. Although he did find himself missing some of the routine that came with his previous occupation. Ah. Cambridge was here. She was always good for something to take away from the mind numbing qualities that came with paperwork. Filing away the standard day of checks and balances with wand weighing and the like was tedious and insufferably routine. At least today, with all the interns popping up like daisies, there was something new. All these inexperienced wands...brought back memories and made him nostalgic for Himitsumahou if he was being honest with himself. But back to Cambridge who already seemed on edge. What was that nickname of her she had earned previously from the one department head? He had caught wind of it and had decidedly never let it go. Now seemed like the opportune moment to bring it up again, yeah? "So serious, Cambridge," he grinned as he strolled by her, giving one of those annoying brotherly pats on the head to the blonde. "Not looking forward to taking up the post as a glorified babysitter, are you?" To which he offered the interns a bit of a wink. No insult meant to them. He just enjoyed ruffling the Auror's feathers. Which meant he had just one more snarky comment to add given the topic of conversation. Couldn't help it. Gryffindor problems. "Or should I say...fashion auror?" Gabbing about clothes and such. How cute. |
Sup? Leon was poised near the work space, he knew the interns were coming today and he was especially excited about one of them coming. Cup of coffee in hand, he moved towards the newcomers, who, although they weren't the ones he wanted to see he still knew them. Well he knew one of them at least. "Hey Noelle. " Leon said with a nod at his sisters best friend, and then turned to the other girl who was standing there. "Leon Kennedy, first year YATI. " He said as he looked over at Alexa and Ryu and had to hold back a bit of a chuckle. Though Alexa had a point, at least they weren't wearing dresses? He grinned a bit, "I don't think they'll be taking people out, they are just interns after all. " Leon felt the need to point out with a bit of a smile. |
Adding Simon to the Group The office was hopping and not with the usual energy. Simon was well aware it was intern day…he’d checked in a few himself earlier that morning from various departments around the Ministry. And as Simon moved towards the Security and Auror Division space, it was clear that at least a couple of MLE’s share had arrived in the department. A duo of young women already being introduced to Cambridge and Kennedy, who were young enough to have maybe gone to Hogwarts with them, and overseen by Ryo one of his own employees. Chases…on their first day. Yeah, no, not even YATI’S did that. “Could always start out with me and dealing with the miscreants in-house before the nuts outside…” Simon mused, adding to the conversation after releasing his desk and dropping a file he’d been passed from down below onto it. “But at least welcome to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement,” he added with a polite smile, opting to play the helpful welcome wizard. Especially seeing as he was a division head. Not that he actually had interns of his own. |
*waves at everyone* :3 Water, not coffee, unfortunately was Penelope's drink of choice lately. No coffee during pregnancy was honestly probably one of the worst things about it in her opinion. She was kinda used to it by now, but she still missed it often since so many people drank it around here. Siiigh. But at least there was something exciting today - interns. And now they had made it to the right level after the meet-and-greet thing. This should definitely be fun. "Or they could help me with all the paperwork piling up," she joined in with a grin, waddling slightly as she headed toward her desk. "Very exciting stuff." Of course, Gidyun probably had something completely different in mind for the kids to do, buuuut they could still have a little bit of fun with them until he arrived, yeah? |
Hiiiiii XD Merlin, she totally felt like a lost girl who was looking for her parents here. Ava tried to act cool even though her internal self was ASDFGHFKFJ!!! But hey, at least Noelle was already here so they would be the lost girls together, huh? Then one of the aurors (Alexa), whom she had seen at dueling club, approached them asking about their outfit. Huh? "I think it's comfortable enough." The Gryffindor then answered. At least she wasn't wearing pencil skirt and high heels. She didn't know what they're going to do in this internship so she decided to dress work-appropriate but eliminating the pencil skirt and high heels. Okay, looks like their presence here attracted the MLE employees. Ava noticed a man (Ryu) walked to them and spoke up. Fashion auror? She bit her lower lip trying not to laugh about that. Then more employees (Leon, Simon and Penelope) came and mentioned about what would she and Noelle do for interning? Seriously, Ava had no idea about that. The acceptance letter didn't really mention about their activities during the internship. The woman did mention about helping her with the paperwork while the other one said about dealing with miscreants with him. There were so many possibilities and hopefully the department head would explain it later. "Thank you for welcoming us." Ava then spoke up and smiled politely at them. At least the employees here did welcome them nicely. Speaking of, should she introduced herself? Maybe she should. "Good morning... everyone. My name is Ava Burton, I'm going to be a seventh year at Hogwarts and... I'm going to be the intern for auror division." Or at least that's what the letter from Mr. Yenorin said. |
