The training room is a converted area, made up of what was once the Education Department. To access the training arena you need to have the password, which changes regularly. To access the training arena, you need to go through a certain closet, where you'll be trapped if you happen to get the password wrong, or attempt to enter without clearance.

The training room changes as needed for each and every scenario that is given. One day it might be a dilapidated building, another a wide open desert, or such as today, a nice large forest with the sounds of running water and animals throughout.

Text Cut: RULES
1. Training only in here. This is not a general chat thread.
2. You are encouraged to interact with people/things that may be present, but as it's a formal training exercise members should RP on their own timeline. Most training activities are designed to measure INDIVIDUAL performance, and therefore should be played as such. There may be room for group options/activities later.
3. Your posts will be deleted if you don't have permission (either IC or OOC) to play here. To play here, you must be: a) An employee of MLE, with permission granted by your division head or department head.
or
b) An employee of another department with an official request for training by your Department head AND permission given by Gidyun Yenorin, the MLE department head.
4. You can take as many posts as you like to finish the task, or as few, but the more detailed you are the better your character will 'score.'
5. The requirements for each scenario are listed below. Past scenarios are found within a spoiler cut.
6. Please be 'realistic.' If your character is inexperienced, let them BE inexperienced. RP them learning, rather than knowing.
7. Your character's results will be sent via owl or internal memo, and posted on the noticeboard.
8. Sometimes, you may be quoted by Nymphadoraliz, your division head, or a red name account. You will be expected to react. Otherwise, you need to be creative and imaginative, and decide what you see in front of your character. You should not wait for someone to post to you, but you may not double post here. You may make up spells! But do try to use HP canon & SS canon information first where it is available. (An attempt will be made to post for you in a 24-48 hour time frame) Difficulties range from 1 as easiest to 5 which is extremely difficult.

At the end, of your duel, either by time running out or with you having lost your health please post your final post with the answer card of your posts. Your scoring will be posted here for Defensive Charms and Counter-Curses and PM'd to those not in level 2.

Ah there she was and with the usual round of banter as well.
"Just try to keep up, Cambridge," he replied with a smirk as he folded his arms comfortably across his chest. Go easy on her? Nah. It was more likely that he would treat this as a bit of a cat and mouse game - the sort where the cat toyed and played with it's meal before going in for the kill. Just not in the literal sense, obviously. "Pay attention and you may even learn something."
Confident? Of course. But there also was a hint of sincerity there as well. Techniques taught at Himitsumahou were like nothing seen here in the United Kingdom.

She was all for throwing herself into training from day one. Especially since Bryony had found out a few things about her boss. Namely, that he didn’t mind a few unobtrusive transfigurations when they were well placed. That and a little chaos didn’t startle him. She herself was still fascinated by the fact his wife was a literal lioness. Being an Animagus had never occurred to her, but the concept was still intriguing. One more way to stay concealed, although she doubted they’d be learning that any time soon.
The blonde was ready as she’d stepped into the training room either way. Prepared for whatever was thrown at her and remembering duels she’d been involved with what seemed like ages ago now. The fact she hadn’t exactly arranged for a partner beforehand didn’t bother her. That just lent another layer to it all. She had to be prepared for anyone, as well as anything.

Dueling could be pretty fun, depending on who your partner was, so Penelope of course had decided to attend - though she was currently duel-partner-less. She didn't think that'd be a problem though. Surely not everyone would be partnered up before they came, and even if they were...well, three-way duels were also fun and a good thing to practice. So no problem.
A few people had already arrived and appeared to have a partner. Except for one of the newbie YATIs. Maybe she was just waiting on someone, BUT Penelope was gonna ask anyway. "Hey. Got a partner for this yet?"

Of course, the worst case scenario would have been having to ask if she could just join one of the other pairings that were standing there ready. Great, so she actually didn't have one yet - this worked out perfectly!
Penelope grinned. "Wanna be mine then?" She assumed she would, but asking was always nice anyway. Unless she was picky about duel partners, but really, who would be? Practicing dueling techniques with as many different people as possible was generally a good idea. Getting too stuck in a particular fighting style or routine didn't always work out in the world, where anything could happen.

Gid was watching as everyone entered the room and counting off as each one did. Relief spreading through him as it appeared so far everyone would be teamed up without an odd number. He was going to wait a little longer to make sure no more entered!
OOC: I apologize, but I'm behind because of finals, I thought I'd be more caught up than I am. We're going to start Saturday evening or Sunday morning! I have 3 weeks to dedicate to this and the MLE stuff specifically! And really am excited about it!

Regina mentally slapped herself because since she was in such a department as the MLE, of course, there would be unexpected events. Dark wizards don't tell you want they're going to do in advance.
Her nerves were affecting her mind which wasn't helping her Legilimency. Suddenly, a barrage of voices appeared in her head. She closed her eyes tight and counted to five and then opened her eyes. They had gone.

Gid finally stepped forward to face everyone so they could finally get started. It wasn't too bad of a group here and he was wanting to get moving. "How about we get started, I see each of you have teamed up for the duelling, wonderful. How about each of you take your places at your chosen arena and we'll go ahead and get started."
Hopefully this went smoothly, it was a smaller group.

Text Cut: Virtual Duelling
Virtual Dueling
This game is going to run similar to other virtual games, where each dueling team must post a certain number of posts before a spell manages to connect. The difference in this virtual game is that there are health points you will start with that will have deductions during the duel. First one out of health points will be the loser of the duel. You can lose points when casting a spell as well as being hit by a spell.
You can find the list of spells here. Each of the spells are categorized. On that spreadsheet it gives the name of the spell if there is one, what the spell does, the health points it takes to use it, and finally how many points are taken from the opponent when they get hit with it. You want to be careful, and watch how many points you might lose when you cast a spell, as you don’t want to run out casting the spell at the same time. If you have a spell that you know of not on the list please message me (Nymphadoraliz).
Rules
Teams of 2
There must be 3 posts between the time a spell is cast and the spell striking or not.
No killing one another, without prior approval from dept head.
Use of unforgiveable curses is not prohibited but it is disciplined for
Play nicely. Not everyone dodges every spell. No one’s perfect!
Be aware of your own charrie’s capabilities. A 1st year YATI is not going to be as advanced as an auror. This does not mean they cannot defeat them though!

How to play
Create a post and make sure to identify what is being done in the post and to whom.
Each dueler will start with 20 health points. Each time a spell is cast they will lose anywhere from 1-4 (5 for unforgiveable) points from their health.
Before a strike of a spell, 3 posts must be cast. You can cast additional in this time, or you can dodge, deflect, etc. As you can see deflect or dodge will not cause you to lose any points from your own health. However, protego will shield you but will cause you to lose points.
Ex.
Dueler #1 – Casts Stupefy at Dueler 2
Dueler #2 – Dodges and casts reducto
Dueler #1 – Deflects
Dueler #2 – Is hit by own deflected spell
In this example, Dueler #1 cast stupefy and lost 2 points
Dueler #2 dodged and cast stupefy and lost 2 points
Dueler #1 deflected spell and lost 0 points
Dueler #2 hit by stupefy and lost 4 points
In the end
Dueler #1 went from 20 points to 18
Dueler #2 went from 20 points to 14, as he lost 2 for using stupefy and 4 more for being hit by the deflected spell
Simply told? That’s it. Nothing more needs to be done with each post. First person out of health points is the winner, if both lose all points in a post the duel ends in a tie.
The only thing I want on each of your posts so we can see is in the title line? Please place UN of who you are dueling and your own health points at the end of your post. So if you cast a spell with 3 health points attached, please subtract it from your last total. If you were hit by a spell, please subtract how many health points as well.

Hah. Lex laughed, finding her opponent funny, but it wasn't because she didn't think this would be a learning opportunity on both ends. It was more like, Ryu was usually a good sport with the banter they cast back and forth and really she was just itching to start the duel.
Consequently, the Auror was all fired up by the time Yenorin gave the command that they could begin. It seemed a bit odd to just begin dueling right there, especially with the others just standing around that way but she supposed you didn't really get to choose your work environment when you were suddenly faced with a dark wizard that needed taking down. That being the case (and because she had full confidence in her co-workers abilities to dodge any shots deflected) Lex gave Ryu the smallest of bows before sending a wandless immobulus in his direction.
Drawing the wand to begin would have been a dead give away and in this area where it was all practice, she felt it the perfect time to strengthen her wandless magic. The simpler stuff went fine, it was the big deal breakers that still required her to cling to her wand--unfortunate really. Anything could happen out there and her wand could take a nasty spill at any second.
Not willing to stand there while he deflected or otherwise made a target of her, Lex was immediately on the move, creating a bit of distance between her and the others present.

However, Regina was going to try some wandless magic since she felt confident in doing so. Regina looked directly into Simon's eyes and said, "Confundo."
The young trainee then moved quickly to another part of the room.

Call him old fashioned, or perhaps simply out of practice, but Ryui's instincts had him following dueling etiquette and the man was midbow when he caught the bright light of a spell being thrown his way. Wandless and nonverbal - he expected nothing less from Cambridge. Although there was hardly ample time to appreciate her swift skill set and he just barely managed to pivot out of the way, her spell catching the edge of his robes but otherwise completely harmless.
Spinning back around, the man resisted throwing her a bit of banter and thrust his wand at the ground just in front of her feet to send a nonverbal Glisseo and, hopefully, knock the Auror a bit off balance with a little slipping and sliding... and quickly followed up with another noverbal, this time in the form of Petrificus Totalus.

“Nice to meet you Regina…Gina.” Simon said accepting the offered hand and shaking, dropping the hand as he worked through names as if trying to decide. “My name’s Simon,” he added by way of introduction, trying to think back to what he might know of the woman. “I would say so.” Even with his experience he had to be ready both because that was the name of the game and his opponent was relatively new so he had little view of her work. What he was seeing already was something with her vision…or maybe she was just trying to calm herself.

“Immobulus!” he cast quietly yet clearly, aiming at the retreating woman.
Perfect, now Aurora had some time to practice her wandless and voiceless magic.
Upon entering the training room she couldn't help but notice the vast amount of things that she could do. She could practice her stealth skills, defense, charms, the list goes on and on. But out of all the options that she did have to choose from, right now she was really feeling a bit of stealth and divination. And she knew the perfect combo for this training. What was even better was they were two spells that she wasn't the best with wandless magic, so now was an even better time to practice said spells. Better perfect them in a training simulation, than trying to perfect them in an actual scenario.
Setting up the room was easy. She just rigged up a few mannequins and then charmed them to sound an alarm if one were to come across her. But now came the fun part. After setting up the dummies, Aurora had placed herself in the center of the room. With a snap of her fingers the dummies all activated and started to move around. Closing her eyes and outstretching her hands she thought deeply about the spell she was about to cast. After a brief second, her eyes flicked open and in her mind she thought Fumos! As the word rang throughout her brain, smoky tendrils began to linger forth from her finger tips, slowly filling up the entire room.
Good She had thought to herself. But now for the actual tricky part. Locating the dummies and then taking them out silently. How should she go about doing this...
