What was adrenaline? Well...that searing pain Saul felt on his back was there then he got back up. burned holes in his black shirt showed there was some serious burns there but that adrenaline it raged through him now and he put all his might into getting these spreading fires put out.

Pain was for later.

It was a relief that another had come to see this fire here after Carter left. (Brad) It would be better if he had stayed but the numbers were steadily growing. So hopefully Bain's attempt to burn destroy this room wouldn't come into fruition. Errr full fruition. A lot of stuff in here seemed unrepairable now.

He got up and caught sight of Jane. Was that baking powder? Honestly whatever worked to get the fires to cease. But they needed power. Lots of power. He went back to the strategy of using heavy winds. Enough to not feed the flames but to blow them out. "Hold onto to something if you can! Take cover!" He twirled his wand in his hand then motioned his arm into a wider circle over his head. "Ventus Tria!" He cast, as heavier winds begun to form around him. Creating a mini hurricane within the room.

They needed to contain this one then get to the fires that were spreading from it. The longer it took them to finish this one off the less time they had to stop the one's going into the other rooms.

Sachin muttered a few well chosen swear words in Hindi as the flames they had almost managed to put out flared up again. Instinctively he ducked to protect himself, and at the same time saying a quick thank you to whoever invented the Bubble Head Charm. Seconds later though, the Ambassador was straightening up again and ploughing back into the chaos by casting more Extinguishing Charms. But what was that coming out of Jane’s wand?

“The Freezing SPELL, Glacius, works better,’’ Sachin yelled to Brad. “Goldwasser did this.’’ But it was all he managed to explain. These flames were so strong and he really didn’t want to wind up being a crispy critter today.

Saul had a plan?

This man was all for a plan that would stop the fire completely so he quickly backed away, seeking cover from the strong, spiralling winds that appeared soon after.

Jane had strong misgivings about Saul's use of the whirlwind charm--if it wasn't strong enough to blow the main fire out right away, it might just well fan the flames hotter. But the man had already started, so Jane dropped back a little to see what would happen.

"Is there any way to seal off this area of the offices?" she said loudly to Sachin, who seemed to be nearest to her. Jane was not at all familiar with the layout of the office space up here. "If we could get everyone out and cut off the oxygen, we might be able to starve the fire out."

Hold onto something? There was nothing to hold onto! Everything in the room had either been destroyed or blown around with Bain's tornado. What exactly was Saul proposing to do? And then Conley got distracted as someone else (Brad) appeared. Godwasser was gone. Carter had run after and Conly sincerely hoped that he would Auror again.

Did he mention his arm was killing him? The adrenalin from the fight was holding off most of the pain, but he knew it was going to need attention sooner then later. But for now, he tried tucking it close to his chest in an attempt to not exasperbate it. After all, saving the Ministry (and his husband) was more important than anything else right now. Sure it had it's issues, but Conley had spent too much of his life dedicated to this place to see reduced to ashes.

As the winds picked up in the room from Saul's spell, Conley came to a terrible conculsion. "No no no..." Conley muttered. Wind was only going to feed the fire. Wind provided oxygen which fed flames and made things so much worse, not to mention that sparks could fly elsewhere and catch. "Sachin," he yelled as the winds blew him into his husband. "Point your wand into the wind....Jane you too! You!" he pointed with his burnt arm at Brad who he did not know (hence the lack of name usage). "Water spells... now! Aqua Eructo!" Ice blue light erupted from the tip of Conley's wand followed by a very powerful jet of water.

Sachin looked over at Jane and shook his head. His free hand, he threw it up to protect his face from the strong winds. Thank the Gods he’d had the sense to get away from wind when Saul told them to. In all honesty, it wasn’t one of the MLEr’s best ideas today. Sachin was unknowingly thinking along the same lines as Conley with regard to the fire spreading.

At the moment, too distracted by the wind and flames, the Ambassador really couldn’t think clearly. Did anyone else have any brilliant ideas? Jane? Maybe not Saul. Oh, but Conley did! Relieved, he nodded his understanding. Of course! This particular charm was commonly used to put out flames.

“Aqua Eructo!’’ A steady, strong burst of water was directed at the wind.

Conley voiced Jane's own misgivings about Saul's course of action. And Sachin was indicating there was no way to seal off the area. But--what was Conley saying now? Water spells! Ordinarily that would work fine, but in the Technology Lounge..."Look out!" Jane cried out in her loudest nanny-voice. "If any electrical devices are still connected, the water will conduct the electricity, maybe make the fire worse, or...hurt somebody! Everybody, anyone standing in the water, get out of it, NOW!"

Fear not Jane, the windstorms whipped up by Saul and Bain had effectively destroyed or unplugged all of the equipment in this room. The same could not be said about all the debris. The wind sent bric-a-brac flying around the room where it slammed into walls and humans and fire. The flames roared thanks to the new source of oxygen.

And then the Singh-Phoras’s water spells hit the wind. Like a muggle fire sprinkler system, the water was more effectively spread across the flames. It took a while, and surely the wizards and witch were exhausted and drenched by the time the last bits of the fire went out. But out the fire went!

The Ministry has been saved!

Too bad the same could not be said about the technology center.

Something smacked into his burnt arm and Conley cried out, but didn't stop concentrating on his spell. Bain was not going to take away both of Radhika's fathers, nor was he going to take away the place to which Conley had dedicated so much of his life. He glanced over at Sachin, grateful that the man had followed his lead and added his own water spell to the wind spell.

His arm was shaking by the time the fire seemed to go out, but he managed to point it at his face to eliminate the bubble head charm before the willow wand slipped from his fingers. The wand clattered to the ground where it bounced and then came to rest by his feet. He was too exhausted and in pain to even lean down and pick it up. "Sach? Tell me you're alright." He curled his burn and banged up arm into his chest like a wounded wing. All he wanted to do was lean into his husband and collapse, but he couldn't. There were still things that needed to be done. "Everyone alright?" he asked the room. "Saul? How hurt are you? Jane? Ah...you..." Conley said gesturing vaguely at the one employee he didn't know by name. He was too tired to even be embarrassed that he didn't know who Brad was. "Who has the energy to summon a healer?" Because he certainly needed one.

And someone should really go after Carter...

But it wouldn't be Conley. He was slowly slinking down into a puddle (of human and water) on the floor.

Finally--finally, the fire was out. But it had left a chaotic mess in its wake, both material and human. Jane stood in the corridor outside the Technology Centre, hair and clothes dripping, and looked from the demolished room back down the water-logged corridor. The Ministry workers who had gone to Hogwarts would find a mess when they got back.

Suddenly the thought penetrated her brain--HOGWARTS! She had been on her way there when she encountered this disaster, and now felt a sudden urgency to continue her mission. But first--"Expecto Patronum!" she cried, pointing her wand, out of which flew a large and determined-looking dragon, which circled the area once and then sped off to fetch a healer.

Jane stepped into the room, pulling out a jar of healing salve she carried with her in one of her pockets, and handed it to Sachin. "Here, take this, it'll help with the burn on his arm." She stepped back again and surveyed the area. There were enough people here to take care of the wounded, and there would be plenty of cleanup left when she got back. She was not needed here now. "Are you all right for now? I sent my Patronus for a healer, but...I need to get to Hogwarts and see what's going on. A former pupil of mine is there, and I have to go."

And with that, Jane hurried back down the corridor and out of the Ministry.


[OOC: I'm still new to the Ministry game and am not sure how one summons a healer. If rp'ing sending a Patronus is not enough, please someone message me and let me know.

In all the commotion, of course there were still loose items flying about. A few times Sachin dodged this item and that to save himself. Because of that, at times his wand work got affected. Nevertheless, it was effective in helping with the blaze since after a while, he noted that it started to subside. Finally.

Hearing the clattering sound that, what turned out to be his husband’s wand falling to the floor, the Ambassador turned his attention to it. Recognising the object, he scooped it up, removed the Bubble Head Charm and moved quickly over to Conley. “I’m fine, fine.’’ All of his own concern was focused on the other man who was clearly hurt and exhausted. Heart hammering, Sachin caught Conley as he sank to the floor.

“Healer- right.’’ Sachin could manage that, right? Wrong. He was too busy staring at the injury on Conley’s arm. He was just grateful that Jane was able to help out. “Th-thank you,’’ came his words of gratitude. There was a nod too, signalling that they would be okay.

Thinking it was fortunate that Jane had this salve with him, Sachin opened the jar with shaking hands. “Here, Con. I hope this’ll help.’’ Only if Conley wanted to use it, of course. Sachin eyed him urgently.

Saul dropped to the floor panting heavily from all the work that had been done to put out the flames. There was some lingering resentment toward Carter who chose to abandon them when they could have used the extra hand in putting out the flames. The real anger was for Bain though. He started the fires and as they raged and spread he wished there was a more effective means to dose Electrical Fires that a straight jet of foam from the wand. Also...they had to seriously consider new fire safety measures for an underground facility or Push the Ministry of Magic above ground while still maintaining it's secrecy.
That's probably too much of an ask though.

He looked toward Conley and Sachin. "Healer?" Oh crud...that's right.
Saul had one nasty burn on his back. Where he attempted to dodge a fireball from behind but misjudged it's distance and speed. Any slight movement from his back now felt that sharp searing pain come right back. he let out a pained smile seeing Jane send off a Patronus for a Healer. Good move. Hopefully one would be here shortly.

In the mean time Saul would just lay here in the middle a subsiding rainfall from the wind and water spells he and Conely whipped up amonst the wreckage of the Technology Lounge.

It was amazing how the touch of someone you love could revitalize one. As Sachin caught him, he felt a slight relief settle over him. Sachin was safe. He was safe. The other employees in the room were safe. The Ministry was safe. At least for now. He allowed himself a moment to lean into his partner's strength before he needed to get back to work.

Which clearly Jane was already heading off to do. Still, he was grateful that she was able to send off a patronus before she left. "Be safe," he called after her. He turned back to Sachin. "I'm alright," he lied and poorly, but only because his wounds were likely not as bad as Saul's. Especially since the auror was just - lying there. "Can you check on Saul?" he asked Sachin. "If his are worse, use that on him. I can wait to find a healer." He was just drained from all the magic use. Besides, he had a feeling that Saul might want/need to go find Carter. If there was still a Carter to go after.

Leanne Mancini had been covering the wards at St Mungos as half the staff had been dispatched to Hogwarts in the wake of the Minister's call. As a head healer, it was more administrative work lately, so Leanne had to admit she found it comforting to return to the roots of bedside work. Which was fairly easygoing .... until a patronus came in beckoning her to the Ministry???

Her youngest sister worked (maybe still did) in the environmental department, so Leanne was able to navigate her way easily here, figuring she had a few staff still left to manage the patients and she could attend to matters here.

"Hello?" She called out, eyes widening at the state of things in the technology center.

OH.

That’s right. Saul needed a Healer too. Sachin hoped one would be here soon. As soon as he was done applying this salve to Conley though, he’d check on the MLEr. “Uh huh,’’ he muttered, attention back to Conley. Don’t forget that he knew you all too well, Con, and so he saw through that lie. Usually, it was Sachin being the rational one but today, his husband was being so instead. The Ambassador knew Conley was right about Saul and was about to go check on the MLEr when - hopefully - a Healer turned up.

“Hi,’’ Sachin called loudly enough to grab her attention. “Are you a Healer? I’ve got two persons with burns here.’’ His gaze moved to Saul. “I think you should check him first.’’ A nod in Saul’s direction should give the woman some guidance.

Lady, you can ogle at the Tech Lounge later.

The looked Sachin was giving him told the DIMC Head that he was not going to win this fight. Fine! Conley knew when he wasn't going to win something, but that didn't exactly mean he wasn't still going to put up a fight. So it was lucky then, that a healer (Leanne) appeared. It saved Conley a little face and likely made Sachin very very happy. So with a groan, Conley unbuttoned the cuff on what remained of his shirtsleeve and tried to roll it up. Only the burns had sort of stuck to the skin and it wasn't a pretty picture. In fact, it caused Conley to curse and grumble and hiss under his breath - most of it in French - while his husband took care of his arm.

And while Sachin was doing that, Conley heard something. It was faint, but clearly someone bellowing for Bain. "Do you hear that?" he asked Sachin. The the turned towards Saul and the healer. "Do you hear that?" Either someone else was in need of help, or else Bain was attacking someone else. Either way, as tired and hurt as he was, he couldn't just keep sitting here. He had a feeling though, that it was one of Godwasser accomplices and if it was, he was going to need someone from MLE to help arrest them. "Do you think you can move Saul?" Even as he asked, he was climbing to his feet, using the wall (and Sachin's shoulder) to get up. Sure, Sachin was probably going to yell at him, but he couldn't just sit here. After collecting his wand from his husband, he started down the hallway.

The floor felt night on his face and his stomach. Sure his back was still in searing pain. It was a good thing Jane's patronus actually got a Healer here in time. He couldn't see his own back but definitely felt like there were spots on him that were worse burns then others.

Then he heard it too. The loud shrieks. He turned and nodded to Conley with a grimaced look on his face. "Work's never done." He lifted himself up from the floor. Looking toward the Healer. "I'll be fine. It can't be that bad." Again, he had not seen the extent of the damage Bain had done to him.

Out of sight, out of mind. Focus on the job at hand. Forget the pain. He gripped his wand tightly and pushed on. Following from behind Conley down to the shouting below them.
