Recreational and Minor/Little League Teams

The Recreational sports division was established to organize and bring recreational sports to the community for young and old. These sports are for the young and young at heart that would like to get together and play the sport if not just for learning, exercise, but for fun as well. As a Games and Sports department the ministry has their hand in many areas and want to give back to the community by bringing these opportunities to them, but they can't work without the many volunteers that step up to be coaches, referees, and even parents that are wanting to give their children the experience.

OOC: This is just a reference for your knowledge of what we have canon here on level seven. This way you can know if there is something for your character's children or even your character. We might RP things once in awhile, but many things even if not RP'd happen every single year. If you see a sport missing please PM Waddles.

Quidditch

Quidditch has two parts in the ministry:

Quidditch Camp: this camp is an annual summer camp that happens in July. Professional players come together for a week and help teach the younger generation about Quidditch. This camp is for 5-17-year-olds and focuses on beginner through advanced skills. Older children will be teamed up to play some matches and get to speak with players, scouts, and managers about furthering their quidditch careers.

Quidditch Competition:Children can be registered to play in leagues once a child's birth year is 8 (so in the year the child will be or turn 8 years old, for example, if a child will turn 9 in 2018 because they are in the birth year of 2009 they would be able to play whether they are seven during the summer that leagues would play or have turned eight already).

Teams will be separated by years:

U9 beginner (8 and 9-year-old birth years)
U11 (10-11-year-old birth years)
U14 (12-14-year-old birth years)
U17 (14-17-year-old birth years)

*Students that tryout and make the U17 league will not participate in these leagues, these leagues are set up for fun, recreational, and learning experiences.

Muggle Sports

The ministry does not condone participation in muggle sports leagues.

The ministry encourages witches and wizards to participate in wizarding sports leagues, which are superior to muggle sports in the health benefits, community building, and entertainment they provide. Any witch or wizard found to be participating in muggle sports will face disciplinary action, including but not limited to a ban from ministry sanctioned leagues.

There is only one section of muggle sports in the ministry.

This section is fairly new and has come along with some of the employee's discussion of a need and interest in it. With witches and wizards living closely with muggles this section has been brought as a resource for them. The ministry can help point families in the right direction to be placed on a youth league that already is run by someone from the wizarding world.

This part of the division helps wizards of any age, especially squibs if they would like to join the muggle world in sports. Some recreational leagues from youth to adult have been made in the wizarding world as well from youth to adult.
