Reception and Waiting Area RECEPTION AND WAITING AREA |
Jane walked into the reception area of the Dept. of Magical Law Enforcement, smoothing down her hair and robes and attempting to look presentable, and not like a person who had had a rather difficult day and no lunch. She saw the pile of papers on the reception desk and went over to look at them. Ah, one filled out a form, folded it into a paper airplane, and directed it to the appropriate department. Efficient. She pulled out her portable quill, took a form off the top of the pile, and, using the desk as a writing surface, began to fill it out. Text Cut: Jane's form There, that was done. Jane folded the form into an airplane, magically sent it off, and prepared to wait. She would much rather have tried to grab a quick tea, since she had missed lunch, but as a new Ministry employee, she felt she had a responsibility to report the event, especially since she got the idea that the other people there did not want to get involved. Then Jane noticed the instant coffee machine in the corner. Thank goodness, at least she could get a much-needed dose of caffeine. She gratefully went over to get a cup, and then took it over to one of the chairs. |
Regina hurried as quickly as possible down to level two without breaking out into a full run. It still felt like it took forever to get here, though in reality it wasn't all that long at all. When she reached the desk, she breathlessly tried to tell the receptionist why she was here, but the lady quietly pointed her to the forms that would be sent to whoever she wanted. Merlin's beard. Okay, fine. She hurriedly scribbled a note to Scott... Text Cut: Regina's note ...and sent off the little paper airplane, watching it zoom off to find him, hoping he would be quick. |
Another typical day at the ministry meant smiles and eagerness from Scottie Ferguson. Wasn't his job lovely lately? How exciting. Exciting was good. Wasn't it? His lunch break was approaching, and Scottie was looking forward to the wonderful sandwich he had packed. In fact, he was about to pass right through reception when the note reached it. And he read it. And the note was quickly turned to nothing more than thin air as he rushed toward where the receptionist was. He stopped rushing, though, when he saw Regina and merely smiiiiiiiled. "Hello there. We should get going then, yes?" He was casual as he headed toward the corridor beyond. They should hurry, right? Scottie was panicked. His heart was all KLHFUFUIHEFIUHFIHFIUH but he was acting as if they had a lunch date or something |
She wasn't sure if it had even been a minute between sending off the form and Scott appeared, but it'd felt like forever. Regina did manage a weak smile of her own though. It was...nice to see him, though better circumstances would've been preferable. And speaking of those, she nodded. "Yes, we should. I'll explain on the way." Not that there was much to explain, considering she still wasn't sure about any of it, but she would still brief him on what she could. Though even without it, considering his job, he was probably better prepared than she was for whatever awaited them up there. Hopefully everything was...going okay. |
I'll post there next ^_^ Right then. Off they went! Scottie tightened his grip around the strap on his lunch bag as he strung it over his shoulder, sighing as he followed after Regina. His lunch would clearly have to wait...because Regina seemed stressed. To Level One! |
The past month had been a lot. In the quiet moments before sleep finally took him, Eiji found himself reflecting back on the call he had had with grandpa not even an hour after the broadcast. There was a guilt that had settled into his chest and made a home there. Always one with high standards for himself, he was sure he could never forgive himself for the things he had thought about his grandfather, the things he had said to him, and just how spiteful the former Slytherin had been while the man was battling against an unfathomable evil. He had returned to the UK as quickly as possible once the fighting had ceased in Japan, his uncle arranging for an emergency portkey for him, and was just in time for his grandpa to be admitted into St. Mungo's. So...at least he had seen him. Even spoken to him. Though that initial conversation had mostly been Eiji simply ugly crying into the Minister's chest like he used to do when he had fallen and skinned his knee when he was a toddler. It had been a lot. It was a lot. And Missa had been there, right by his side, for a good chuck of it. They both had a lot on their plates and it was the one calming factor that he had to hold on to and get him through things; that Missa was safe and 'okay'. Because there was a whole lot of other things that were far from okay. Though he did not want to think about all that right now as he stepped into the lobby of Magical Law Enforcement with a potted plant tucked under his arm and informed the receptionist that he was here to see YATI Renaldi. Being in the Ministry was a jarring reminder that grandpa was not okay, however. After being instructed to fill out a form, Eiji launched the little paper airplane off to go fine Missa and then waited. No coffee for him, thanks. |
I am so excited to play them finallllyyyyyy omg Quote:
She was also spending more and more time at the ministry these days, to do anything to help - to be vigilant, even when things seemed to be under control - which was why her usual routine to balance university course work and her YATI obligations had gone out the window. Not that she minded, she liked being busy. But she would be lying if she said it didn't feel nice when that small paper aeroplane found its way to her. Finishing up the paper work she had been handling, she grabbed her bag and limped her way to the waiting area. Maybe it was the excitement to see Eiji that for the first since the war - she actually forgot how frustrated she had been because of this busted knee of hers. And surely - a wide smile immediately pulled at the corner of her lips the moment she spotted Eiji. Even though they had had a moment to catch up, next to his grandfather, no less - they hadn't really had any time together since the weekend she had visited him. It seemed like a lifetime ago honestly. "Fancy seeing you here, Mr Rasting" |
aaaaaah first time with them post graduation, isn't it?! For the first time since the war and on terms that were not specific to the war. Save for a round about sort of way, seeing as his university had let out early after exams to accommodate for international students and the general climate of the post Neo Alliance tyranny in Japan. But he was here today to be a good and considerate boyfriend and dote a little on his girlfriend, hence the potted plant he carried with him. Which was also practical as the all parts of it, particularly the petals and roots, were very versatile ingredients. "Indeed, M--" The M sound drew out a little longer than was necessary, catching a bit of a subconscious slip before he could officially manifest itself. "Miss Renaldi. Some flobberworm wanted these delivered to you under the assumption they would brighten up your workspace among other more practical reasons." |
Quote:
"Such a sweet little flobberworm, honestly," she responded before coming to a stop in front of him, and giving his cheek a soft little kiss - and yes, she was still very mindful of his aversion to public display of affection. "Please let him know I will make sure the practical reasons are served as well -- as I have every time the sweet flobberworm has given me flowers" she added with a chuckle before taking the pot of plant. It wasn't a lie either. This far into the relationship, Missa was WELL aware of just how Eiji preferred his ingredients to be and exactly which parts were his favourite. "Lunch?" She asked in the next moment, very sure how he might not like to stick around the ministry for too long - considering how ...guilty he still felt over his grandpa and how being here might trigger a thought process that would ruin the mood all too quickly. |
For the record, Eiji was still NOT sporting any flobberworm tattoo anywhere on his body and had precisely zero plans in ever doing so. Hopefully Eloise had grown bored of spreading that rumor around. He really did not need the entire Magical Law Enforcement department thinking he did OR for that nonsense to spread to grandpa. The cheek kiss was nice, pleasant even, and he found himself not bothered by it in the moment. He even cracked a smile, which was more of a smile than a smirk for once in his life, as he passed over the pot to her. "The flobberworm might take issue with being called sweet and little in the same sentence," he pointed out casually before shaking his head to toss some of his hair away from his face. He probably should think about getting a trim again soon, but he preferred to have his hair longer. It suited him. "Yeah," he nodded, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly and feeling borderline mortified as the next words began dripping from his mouth. "Mum packed bentos ... for us both. I've got them in my bag. She is doting now that she has both me and Rebecca home." Which also reminded him he had something else to deliver that he fished out of his bag now and revealed another box. "And she wouldn't take no for an answer...and says these are for you and your co-workers...as a thank you for all they have done since...since all this started. And to congratulate Mr. Upstead on his promotion." Cookies. What else? The woman was truly insufferable at times if not downright embarrassing. |
I am soooooo sorry for being this stupidly late ;_; but you know everything <3 Quote:
His next words amused her as well, though it warmed her heart more. After fighting alongside Mrs Rasting - Missa felt she had a different kind of bonding with the woman. There was a different kind respect she felt for her. "That was very thoughtful of her" she smiled before raising a brow at the box he handed her next. Oh dear. "......and this is very generous of her. I'll make sure everyone gets these when we come back" Sure, she'd be the soon to be Auror handing out cookies - that was okay. That was just fiiiiine. And not embarrassing at all. |
I do I do I do I doooooooo <33 And the flobberworm may take issue with being called cute in the long string of intimate adjectives she was stringing together. He was more than willing to overlook it considering that laugh of hers, though his exterior hardly showed that he was. Part of him was growing anxious that Auntie Vivi might pop her head in here and act all-too-mothering in the situation...and then she would report back to mom about it all and then he would have to hear about it over dinner or breakfast depending on when it was he went back home after spending time with Missa. "You're forgiven, Miss Renaldi," he sighed while reaching forward and tucking a bit of hair behind her ear. Mom was...something else. Most of the time. Currently she was busy keeping the reserve together while part of the dragonologists were off helping the retrieval effort in place thanks to those Neo Alliance thugs. He was pretty certain she had cookies on their way to be delivered to the Ministry as well. Thankfully he would not be here whenever it was those arrived. "You want to go put those somewhere before we head out?" |
I love yoooou, I doooo Quote:
Unaware of his anxious ways, Missa took a very small moment to come to the conclusion that carrying around a box of cookies would tie her up in ways she didn't want to be tied up. So, she quickly nodded at his question, "yes, give me just a few minutes and I'll be right back" Mhm. Giving him yet another kiss on the cheek, since he so nicely didn't object the first one, the brunette made her way back inside to keep the box. Before she'd forget, she also wrote a note - which read: 'For the brave Aurors', from Mrs Kurumi Rasting', and stuck it on top of the box, incase anyone got curious or ... hungry, and then found her way back to Eiji. "Ready?" |
Sophie came in holding her own wand in her right hand and the unknown wand in her left hand, the piece of fabric still floating next to her. She looked around before calling out. "Hello?" Then she noticed a pile of forms on a desk and went to inspect them. Deciding to quickly fill one out to try and get someone to help her sooner than later, she then tapped the parchment with her wand, causing it to fold itself into a parchment airplane and zoom off into the work area of MLE. Hopefully this would get a Wand Weigher or similar out there quicker. She didn't exactly fancy waiting there too long with these strange items. |

Mom...was honestly so embarrassing. His lips twitched ever so slightly at the second cheek kiss as he watched her go, rocking back on his heels as he waited. Thankfully it didn't take long, though this sudden surge did have him wishing that maybe someone did see her come back out to him and his hand reach out to intertwine their fingers. "Absolutely. We can take the bentos to St. James Park. Get you out of this place for a bit." The decor...still gave him the creeps. |

Something in Ronan, let's say it was his intuition, told him that he should heed the wayward plane and take this one, so he made his way to the reception desk. That's when he saw the woman standing there holding two wands and a piece of fabric floating beside her. "Miss, I think you've got the wrong place. We don't offer wand polishing services here. They might at Ollivander's, though." For real, the woman looked like one of those Karens that was about to ask to speak to the manager and he wanted absolutely no part of that. But then he took a second look at one of the wands and something about it seemed familiar, like he'd seen it somewhere before.... "Wait a minute, what are you doing with an auror's wand?" He wasn't sure which one, but he'd seen it on one of his coworkers. Something was definitely rotten in Denmark here. |
Quote:
"I found it on the floor in one of the lower level corridors." She told him firmly, trying her best to let the annoyance go. "Brought it here because I thought someone could weigh it to see who it belonged to, but it seems like you know the owner." The Charms Developer added, handing the wand to the man. "I also found this near it." She made the piece of fabric float nearer the man's head as if also handing it over to him. "I don't suppose you recognise this too?" |
