Pets 'n Plants Café https://i.postimg.cc/MGX88m8J/Creatu...lants-Cafe.gif Tucked away in a corner behind the Shared Conference Room and right at the entrance of Level 4, you'll find a door leading you to one of the newest hang-out spots that the Ministry of Magic has to offer. If you wander inside, you'll see that what used to be a storage room has since been transformed into a hip café, complete with all the regular bells and whistles: square tables, comfortable chairs, & coffee-shop chatter. While there isn't a counter to order yourself a drink, there's an espresso machine, an assortment of teas, and a kettle filled with hot water along the back wall. You're encouraged to bring your own food and drink, but are asked to stay away from one-time use, plastic crockery (unless you want an Environment Employee hunting you down). |
Bring his own food? CHECK. Personalised 'I'm a Darcy boy in a Darcy world' mug full of peppermint tea? CHECK. But Theophilus had left his sandwich on the table and was sat underneath it giving attention to cute crup that had come over to him. This place was AWEESOME. SO FUN. MUCH FUN. HOOTS. HOOOOOOOOOTS. "Ahhh little mite, that's m'ear mate. Don't oh hOoOHEHUuhhuuh. No not my ear. I was gon' share my cheese 'n pickle sandwich with you." So supe dupe ticklish. OoHHJHUUUUhhooHOOT. |

Was this really something the Ministry needed? Would it actually help anyone? Did it mean that random employees would just be crowding up their level now? What if they found their breakroom or distracted their employees from getting actual work done? Maybe her and James should make a quick announcement that it was OKAY to tell people to shut it if they were being too loud, playing with the kneazles or getting too excited over the orchid that had survived yet another 72 hours. Hopefully nobody was in here. Holding two potted plants - or what was left of them - Olly stepped into their former storage room and...found herself looking at one of James' employees. Alright. At least it wasn't anyone from another level. "Hello. Don't mind me." He could just go back to....whatever it was that he was doing. Fawning over that crup. |
RandomRaven.... Laurel was on a wander around the ministry floors on her lunch break to clear her head when she came across the Pet's and Plant's Cafe on the fourth floor. She and Aaron didn't need to adopt a homeless pet right now. Unless of course she got super attached to one of them but maybe a nice plant would be good, the one they had on the kitchen table had looked a little sickly lately. Making herself a cup of tea with some added honey, Laurel walked a few steps over to one of the vacant tables and took at seat, and pulled out a romance novel. It was some time before she needed to back in Mysteries and work with prophecies again. |

Grabbing his lunch box and coffee flask, the 39 year-old walked in to the cafe once the lunch break time had come. "Laurel." He smiled at the blonde woman who was just sitting alone there. "Mind if I join?" |
Quote:
As Laurel kept reading and drinking her tea a kneazle cautiously crept closer to where she sat until it braved nuzzling up against her leg for a pet. Putting one hand in her book to not loose where she was she bended to stroke the kneazle on the head. As she straightened up Jordan walked in. Smiling up at him she "Hi Jordan! No, of course not, have a seat." She said as she gestured at the vacant seats around her. "How are things Jordan?" |
Continuing on from the greenhouses Lucy entered the cafe with a tray laden with six small pots, floating in front of her. There were two pots with Agapanthus, two with lavender and one each of a red daisy and a yellow daisy. "Hello, everyone. I have got some flowers to decorate the cafe. Where do you think would be the most ideal place for them?" Lucy asked the room in general. |
Quote:
"Anyway, how about you?" He asked Laurel while unwrapping his lunch. Four slices of tuna mayo sandwiches for today's menu because he had a little time to cook a better meal, don't bother him. |
Quote:
OH. "That rhymed! You're makin' me a poet!" And he was no longer alone, so Theophilus raised his hand and waved with a grin. "Not minding at all! Just pickling with a pal!" |
Quote:
At least people seemed to enjoy the café. Which was........honestly, Olly wasn't sure how she should feel about that. She'd been secretly harboring hopes that nobody would show up and that, consequently, Charles would realize that it wasn't necessary to have this place on their level. Alas, that did not seem to be the case, however. So she might as well go with it. "You know you're allowed to adopt them, too, if you like, yeah?" Those creatures DID need a home, after all. Quote:
Olly turned a little to eye the plants she'd chosen to put into pots, then nodded approvingly. None of them looked particularly "Maybe set them over by the window for now." She suggested, gesturing towards a small window sill. That would do. For now. |
Adopt them? Of course he knew that! "I couldn't possibly justify choosing BETWEEN them all!" But he could spend his lunch break here every day. "I don't think my flat is pet friendly." And alllllllllsooooooo what if one of the lads or lasses he took on a date was deathly allergic? How was he supposed to wine and dine without causing them to keel over. "Besides, don't you think they're all happy here? Bet they're like siblings already." And he knew what being close to siblings was like. "Fancy a cheese and pickle sandwich?" |
Quote:
Drinking a sip of her tea she responded "I’m glad to hear that you are well Jordan," furrowing a brow at his last comment Laurel asked "Don’t you work full time in creatures?" After another muffin bite she beamed as her eyes went to the wedding ring on her finger before she looked up and responded. "Things are very well. I recently got married to my boyfriend Aaron that work’s in Games & Sports. Before that I was involved in the encephalon incident that all employees got a memo about from Minister Hollingberry. Another brain took over my brain to put it simply." And she had not been herself for many days but oddly Aaron had just thought it was her usual seer quirkiness going in overdrive. "So um did you take part in the ministry picnic at St James Park recently?" Laurel wondered. |
Quote:
Wait a second... Laurel's married? He couldn't help but surprised as she told him that. "Wait... when did you get married?" And how on earth he didn't know she was seeing someone? Oh well, they haven't interacted as they used to back they both were professors at Hogwarts. "And how on earth I did not get invited?" Was it just him or every other of their friends didn't know either about this good news? Well, the last time Jordan interacted with his former fellow professor was.... River and Camilla's wedding maybe. "... Congratulations, by the way. I'm happy for you." A smile was appeared on his face even though... Ah, never mind. "Yeah, I'm still working full-time here. For now, I'm more an investor of this side project and co-adviser." He explained. Let's see if this project worked well in a couple of years, there would be a possibility of him leaving the ministry for good. "Oh? No, I did not. I was still out of town when it happened. Why?" Jordan asked her curiously. |
Am I allowed to play the creatures? Caleb was glad that he was allowed to bring his own food. So he walked in, careful not to step on any creature's feet and got himself a table. He gave himself a minute to take in the atmosphere. Being a new employee, and never bothering to go down to the ministry otherwise before, this was all new to him. He saw various snall creatures. Caleb blinked when he felt a creature by his leg. He looked down to see a niffler sniffing his pant leg. "Hey little guy," Caleb smiled and clicked his tongue to get the niffler's attention. Caleb put a handful of knuts in a small bag and shook it a bit. The niffler crawled to his lap and took the bag of coins. Caleb smiled and scratched it's head. "You're cute, I like you," he smiled and offered the niffler a piece of his ham and cheese sandwhich. |

She then sat down at a vacant table. |
The niffler sniffed the sandwich and swiped it away. That's not shiny at all! -- Caleb rolled his eyes. "Really? You have to be hungry too you know." |
Open The pets ‘n plants cafe was one of Elizabeth’s favorite places to spend time at work when she wasn’t in the greenhouses. It was a great idea, having a little cafe area with interests from both departments that shared the floor. Elizabeth walked into the cafe with her own mug that she kept on her desk and headed to make herself some tea. Admittedly, mug storage was just about the only thing her desk was useful for, in addition to having some basic desk supplies there. She rarely used her desk as most of her work was conducted in the greenhouses. After selecting a mint tea bag, Elizabeth poured some hot water into her mug. Then she took a seat at one of the tables with her tea. ”Oh, hello.” She leaned down to pet a kneazle that had decided to snuggle up by her leg. What a sweet little thing. |
from apperation lesson! After disappearing from the testing room, Archer reappeared in what looked like some kind of storage room that had been transformed into a break room. One that seemed to be inspired by the cat cafes of the muggle world, only for magical animals. And plants. And there was a kneazle staring at her from one of the tables. She simply raised an eyebrow at the animal and looked around for an employee who could sign her Apperation form for her so she could get a move on. |
also from apparition lesson If one didn't know Natalie was terrified of apparating and had to focus a great deal, one might think that she was in the process of messing her pants. The former Slytherin appeared right before the cafe and stood there for a good fifteen seconds before realizing she had landed. When she opened her eyes, she saw another student that had been testing and realized... she had done it! "I didn't splinch!" Natalie exclaimed, then quickly checked all of her limbs to make sure that she was indeed correct. She didn't FEEL any body parts missing, anyway. Besides that, her form that needed to be signed was crinkled up from the tense white-knuckling travel. |

Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately, only time would tell), his frustration with the situation at Hogwarts was put on the back-burner as he had another immediate task to attend to. Apparation exams at the Ministry, apparently. Another result of the tomfoolery at Hogwarts, it seemed. When he heard the pop and arrival of one of the examinees, he reluctantly stood up from the table and pocketed the status reports (confidentiality and all that). Walking up to the examinee, he assessed her for a moment. "No splinching, it appears... That's a good sign," he looked at her expectantly. "If there aren't any concerns I should be made aware of, I can sign your form and you can head to the atrium for your final status evaluation." Quote:

Quote:
While she waited for him to sign it, Natalie gathered her focus again. She just had to prove herself one more time and apparate into the Atrium and then she would be free to apparate anytime by herself. And after it was signed, that was just what she did. |
Quote:
Once he was given her form, he quickly read over it before finding the appropriate place for signing. Again he read the statement first incase before adding his signature and indicating in his comments that she had arrived without any splinching or other complications. Then he held it back out for her, before adddind, ”You should be good to go.” To the atrium, yeah? Enjoy the sweet freedom of apparition, kid. |
School had started again and Elisa was in her seventh and final year. She was worried about her daughter going back to school after everything that had happened, but she couldn't force her to stay home. Alana was in her final year at the muggle school as well, and Helena was in Australia as a fourth year. Where had the time gone? As she thought about this and thought about Daisy headed back without Tad Victoria made her way into the cafe. She had picked this specific one because she felt maybe it was time for a furry friend to help her and her family. She knew they said that animals could make great therapy pets and that was what she was looking for. Taking a seat and ordering a tea she looked around at the creatures moving about. What was a pet for her? Was she more of a crup or a kneazle person? |

But it was only an exaggerated feeling and, frankly, he was enjoying the tightening relationship between the British and French Ministries. But today he was on a more personal errand. Eiji had his own familiar in the form of a naked rat of all creatures, but the precious pea of a granddaughter did not have her own pet yet. Though, he was unsure he would find something to her liking here considering Rebecca's preferences favored winged creatures...but it certainly couldn't hurt to look. Particularly for such a just cause as adopting a rescue creature. Stepping in and offering diplomatic waves to those who met his sparkly green eyes, Charles soon noticed Victoria and moved over to her table. "Victoria, mind if I join you?" |
Quote:
This not being the time nor the place she wiped her eyes just as she heard someone say her name. Looking up and realizing who it was she tried to really compose herself as she moved her purse from the seat closest to her. "Of course you can minister, you are always welcome to join me." Minister? Did she ever say minister to Charles? Setting her purse on the floor and taking a sip of her drink she gave him a small smile, "In for a treat or a pet today?" Pets, right, she was looking for one. Her eyes just scanned the area still not sure what would be a good one for her. |
