Welcome to my humble abode. The door is always open. But check I am in here first (I just may be flirtingbeing flirted to on Level Six with a Ms Brothmeister). Pull up a chair.
No need for formalities, the name is Theo.
My office has a desk, like most offices. The walls are covered with posters of Quidditch teams, and players. You will find brooms in the corner, gobstones on the table, balls all over the place. Make sure you don't step on anything.

Alexander knocked on his bosses door and went straight in. It wasn't usually a problem to walk straight in and he had heard Ian's voice which is who he also wanted to talk to.
He stepped into the room and looked around. It was covered in posters including .. Eurgh. He still he had that old Wimbourne Wasps poster up. That poster had him still flying around on it. How he hated his boss having a poster of him on the wall.
"I thought I asked you to take that poster, Theo." Alexander said, leaning against the doorframe.

When that happens it shall be back to normal," he sighed. He didn't like it when Nia hid Buzz. Because Junior would be upset, and they would have to drop what they were doing to go find the toy.
"I don't want to teach her to be a beater. It would a death trap for me. Or she would probably 'accidentally' hit it at Junior. So I think fierce chaser is the better option."
"Just be grateful you have only been round a few times to visit. Your daughter did nothing wrong actually. She played it to him once, and he was fine. Then when his Grandmother got him the toy. That was horrendous. I think we are averaging at at least 7 times a day. Though he has started enjoying Cars." He shook his head, "Yeah I don't have any in that field. But I don't really want him to. I was hoping that he would follow after me. But at the moment all I see him doing is working like a muggle." Quote:

Alexander smirked. Theo had said that but Alexander had never got round to getting a new one so maybe he would have to settle on having his face on his bosses wall for a little longer until he was able to get a new one.
"Alexander." He corrected automatically. He hated having to correct people all the time but he didn't particularly like being called Alex. "I was just popping in to ask how many new kids I should be expecting. I think I already have two."
He turned to Ian. He very much respected the older man but was always asking him favours. "When's the next Wasps game, Ian?" He asked him. "I was hoping to get a discount on the tickets." He winked with a grin.

"Sorry Alexander," Theo smiled. "Well there should be a total of four in your department, and then you. So if you only have two there. There are two late for work." He looked at his watch. "Yep 10 minutes late."
"Don't you already get discount as an ex-player? Or have the Wasps gone cheap again?" he laughed. He got free tickets anyway so he wasn't that bothered. Well free ones to any Bats game. Discount on the rest. And free for the World Cup ones.

Eurgh. Late workers. That is not what he needed today. He groaned and looked at his watch. "Not good for a first day." He muttered to himself.
Looking up he smiled at Theo's comment. "Nahh. Only players get discounts for their families but maybe if I send them an owl and ask nicely .." He trailed off in his own thoughts.

"Don't worry. We'll give them until half past and then issue warnings," he laughed. He didn't like firing people, especially on their first day.
"Oh. I can get in contact too if you want. Just as long as they aren't playing the Bats. Because otherwise I am already going," Theo smiled, "Asking nicely always worked in my world. Get more done that way. That's why I don't shout. People stop listening when you shout."

Alina popped out of the office for a few seconds, before returning with a new staff member in tow. She nodded at him to introduce himself and slipped back over to her husband. There were definitely benefits to being back at work. She sipped had another sip of her coffee, and smiled happily.

Theo smiled as his wife joined them back in the room. He hadn't really noticed her go. Behind her trailed another new employee. There were loads of them. He put his arm around her waist, and whispered in her ear. He picked up his coffee from the desk and took a sip. It was getting cold now, but at least it didn't burn his tongue. "Right, who have we here?" he looked at the new arrival, "You must be Jude from Gobstones. Nice for you to join us. Ian and Alexander, are two of my division heads. This is Alina my wife, and Secretary. And I am Theodore Newtington. But you can call me Theo."

Jude lightly trooped his way into the office where he nodded to the head of his department.
"Good day, still quite rainy but at least the storm's passed," the tall wizard looked to the others gathered in the office and wonder if he was intruding in on a meeting, but all the same he nodded in recognition to them as all as well. "I was here for papers from the employment offices. They told me I should give them to my Head and I wasn't sure if they meant the Gobstones Head or you. But I'd already spoken to Mr. ... uh ... he'd like to be called 'Dan' and he told me to come to you."
He stretched out his brown hand that held his registration papers for Mr. Newtington the III and waited with his hands behind his back, still bothered by the display in the Atrium, but not yet ready or willing to speak on the manner.

"Papers? Ah yes papers," Theo smiled. He took his arm from around Alina's waist and took the employment papers. "Thank you Jude. I will do whatever is needed with these." He put them on top of his pile of paper on the desk. They would be easier to deal with first.
"Everyone is on first name basis here. No Sir's or Misters around. Unless we are talking to the Minister, then it is definately Sir."
He smiled back the man, "Have you had any trouble so far? I know how tough a first day can be."

Have you had any trouble so far? The door opened to the conversation Jude had wanted to have and there he was in front of his Department Head, a man who had some power in the ministry, and he could not bring himself to speak up on how he felt. His insides had given a great leap but his exterior was as indifferent as it ever was as his mind wandered to the nucleus of the Atrium once again.
"Well ..." he began, and he looked up furtively to the others in the room, hoping not to embarrass himself in front of them. "I was a bit offended, you see ... by ..." His eyes dropped from Mr. Newtington the III and he looked angry with himself from saying anything at all. Was it even my place to dicuss this?

"Apologies sir -- Theo," his Head's first name felt bitter on his tongue. "There is no offense to our people at all. In fact, it's quite the contrary. The -- the people holding up the witch and wizard on the fountain, sir, their ... Muggles, are they not?"
Mr. Newtington didn't seem to be displeased by the fountain at all. This troubled Jude vaguely. There had to be some misunderstanding. Or could he have been one of the Heads who approved the display?

Alexander was biting his lip, trying his hardest to laugh or smile. This guy was offended by the fountain? Why on Earth would someone be offended by the fountain? Noone else was. Alexander rocked on his heels uncomfortably hoping that Theo would somehow sort this out.

"Muggles? There are just a witch and a wizard sitting on thrones," Theo frowned. Unless he had missed something. Come to think of it, what was the mass lying at their feets? It could be muggles. Jude nodded his head and turned his heel to leave the office, wondering how soon that fountain would be there for even after Mr. Newtington notified others.
"I'll be in my cubicle. You'll know where to find me if you need me, should you require my presence," he said as he ducked his tall head under the door's threshold. "Good day to you. Farewell to you all."

Alexander sighed as Jude left the room, finally. "OK. This has been sufficiently awkward." I said, subconsciously tucking in his shirt again. "I shall now be getting back to work."
He smiled casually and head towards the door. "Let me know how you get on with those tickets." He called to Theo as he was leaving.

Alina offered a small smile to Jude. She hadn't understood the relevance of the statue, and never though to ask. Now though, it did seem strange. She felt she was lucky to have magic, but not stronger or better.
She sipped some more coffee and watched as Jude and Alexander walked out. Her eyes flicked down to Theo's desk, and looked at the paperwork piling up. She smiled at her husband, and started to flick through it, separating a few sheets aside.
