Located off the Elevator Lobby, the Cafeteria is a large room with numerous round tables,lots of comfy chairs, large (albeit fake) windows and constant background noise. On the left wall of the Cafeteria is a counter selling fresh sandwiches and salads, while a range of hot and cold beverages (and junk food) is available from the table-top vending machine.

The table top vending machines work using a table-mounted menu of items. You touch the item you want on the list, then watch your head! as your selected item descends from the ceiling. The cans of Pumpkin Juice can be particularly painful if one hits you on the head.

A team of busboys (and girls, and possibly some House Elves) will clear your plates as soon as you are done.

"Ok." He was fine with that. Sweet deliciousness just for him. He tugged the cake toward him, picked it up, and took a bite. Forks were no good. They just make you slower. But if she had to go, did that mean he had to go? That sucks. Working is lame. He abondoned the plate, keeping the cake in his non-key chain hand, and headed toward the elevators.

Lily strolled into the MoM cafeteria, her stomach rumbling. She found her friend Emma and sat down beside her.

"Hey, Emma! What's up?" she asked.
"Ah, I am exhausted. You know that report about the exploding teapots? Well, it somehow worked its way out of the MoM and I had to go gallivanting around London to catch up with the report. Luckily only a few Muggles needed their memories to be modified," Emma replied.
"Wow, sounds like a busy day!" said Lily.

After a long discussion over a bagel, chocolate cake, and pumpkin juice, Lily returned to her desk to continue ridding the world of enchanted Muggle artifacts.

Strolling into the cafeteria, brushing her pink strand of hair, Verona Nikoletti held her head high, chin trhust forward. First days of work were brutal, she remembered hers well. And with such a large new staff? Ayiyiyiyiyiyi. Her head ached in thought.

Removing her white fuax fur trimmed jacket, the woman revealed the top of lavender dress, though no one saw as she quickly switched to her cloak. She was always chilly. Seating herself at an empty table, she rubbed her jeans and glanced at the menu.

"Ahhhh yes. Zeeeee cafeteria lunch." Personally, Verona preferred her cupcakes but she would never tell the House Elves. She touched an order of tuna fish sandwhich and pulled an order of potato salad to go with. Something simple and nice.

Scanning the room, the Department Head searched for any of her ah-dorable minions.

Luriken watched the girl, no lady enter and pratically float to a table is she french? he asked himself and mentally shrugged Mybe I should ask he shook his head against it and drank his Ginger ale

Watching two young workers- a girl and a boy- leave the cafeteria, Otis stood, cracking his knuckles as he approached the table the pair had abandoned. His nose wrinkled slightly at the mess of cake crumbs all over the table.

With a wave of his wand, the empty plate vanished. With another wave, a damp cloth appeared. Scrubbing the table, Otis kept an eye on the Ministry employees enjoying (well, not in all cases; there were several miserable, lonely-looking people in his cafeteria) their lunches.

His eyebrows raised slightly as Verona Nikoletti, Head of the Magical Law Enforcement Department, strolled into his cafeteria and took a seat at the table next to the one he had just cleaned. Otis's eyes darted around; no one was watching him. Well, after 30 years as Head of the Cafeteria, he figured he might as well greet one person in a manner more friendly than "Don't you dare steal that fork, you little punk!".

Feeling as though he were betraying his very existance, Otis turned to face her, and, cloth still clutched in his hand, said as friendly as possible (not that that said much), "Hello."

It wasn't Russo's fault if he got hungry quickly, he just liked his food. Despite polishing off several of his new boss's cupcakes back in his break room, Russo lumbered into the cafeteria, subconciously flicking his dark brown hair out of his deep blue eyes. He'd deal with work later, right now, he needed food. Lots of it.

Scanning the room for a place to sit, he grinned, and casually allowed his six"three frame to fall quite easily into a chair, as his breath caught in his throat. It was his boss. She was quite extra-ordinary; Russo thought, wondering what on earth he should do. Hide? Yes! Hide! He grabbed the menu and placed it in front of his face, although he was quickly caught up in choosing a meal.

Oh yes. Good work Russo. No one will find you there.

Estelle pulled a bookmark and placed it on the page she was on and looked at the book Ivan was reading. "A Dragons Tail." She read it softly. "Is it good?" She asked him. Not sure if it was a story book or like a textbook or information book, or whatever it was called.

Never being able to leave her work behind, Sydney entered the cafeteria with a pencil tucked behind her ear, and a stack of papers and folders under her arm. So far she had had a hectic morning and it was a miracle she had made it to work in one piece.

Finding an empty table away from all the ruckus that echoed in the cafeteria, Sydney simply pushed the menu aside and immediately began looking over the paperwork. Why she came to the cafeteria when she could easily have gone to her office was a mystery.

Gray had wandered into the cafeteria for his morning fix of coffee and a croissant. He gotten the stuff and was about to head up to the fourth floor - where the rations were sure to be left on the desk til they got cold - when he spotted his Junior HoD going over paperwork.

He sat down uninvited in front of her and set the paper bag containing the croissant on top of her papers, "Eat something, for Merlin's sake. I don't want to have to send you over to St. Mungos from lack of sustenance."

Luriken finished his food and stood. Tucking his hair behind his ears and gathered all his newspapers and put them into a pile to take them up. Smiling to Gray and Sydney he left the cafeteria and back to his department so he can finish his paper work.

About to jot down a note, Sydney stopped when a paper bag found its way onto her paper. Looking up she saw Mr. Mactavish. Giving him a smile (an annoyed smile more than anything) she removed the bag and placed it in front of him.

“Oh Gray I will not have to go to St. Mungos. Besides I already ate…well not really but most of my breakfast found itself onto my pants this morning. Hence the reason I was almost late.” Sydney sat up a bit straighter as she looked over at the paper bag again.

“What’s in there anyway?” she asked as she reached for the bag. Her eyes full with hunger and curiosity.

Gray frowned at her trousers but found them to be much neater than anything he would ever put on. In fact, his newly ironed shirt was already gathering wrinkles all over the front and he had only been here for 10 minutes.

The frown disappeared as he saw her reaching for the bag. So he hadn't eaten, but he rarely remembered to eat til around 11 o'clock anyway, so it didn't make much difference.

He smiled patronizingly at her, "A croissant, and trust me, Sydney..." he patted her hand, "I know what's best for you."

Opening the bag she saw that indeed it was a croissant and boy did it look delicious. Raising her head to look at him she simply rolled her eyes.

“Yes Gray I’m sure you do.” Closing the bag Sydney pushed it back towards him. “As tempting as that Croissant looks, I’m going to have to pass.” She patted (more like slapped) his hand in return before looking back at her paperwork.

“So whats on the agenda for today?” She asked as she crossed her legs and leaned back in her chair.

Gray frowned but took the bag back, let the woman starve if she insisted on being obstinate. She had just better not come running to his office in an hour complaining of hunger pains and cramps or any other inane things women were bound to complain about.

He took in her question as he sipped his drink, "Well, a house elf gone mad, and a rather dangerous nest of a new species...I'll have to order everyone in for a meeting later to better explain the situation."

Glancing up at him when he mentioned a house elf gone mad, Sydney couldn’t help but let out a small laugh. “Oh wow, sounds pretty serious.”

The mention of a meeting later made Sydney think about getting something to eat after all. If they were going to have a meeting she’d have to eat now, because she wouldn’t’ have a chance to sneak away from the office later.

“Hmm…well I’ll be looking forward to that then. No mention of Lethifold attacks lately?” she inquired as she bit on her lower lip.

Gray shook his head, "No...you know, this obsession of yours isn't healthy." He said, frowning as he stood up. She really did spend too much time thinking about Lethifolds and he'd come that close to clearing her office of the Lethifold art. But the flowers kept him away.

He ran a hand through his hair, "Well, I'll see you upstairs, Sydney. Got some stuff to take care off before our meeting."

He picked up his coffee and the paper bag, and without waiting for a response he left the room.

Sydney sank a bit in her chair as he called her out on her obsession with Lethifolds. It wasn’t an obsession; at least it wasn’t to her. But then again she was too close to the personal situation that had made them the center of her world.

“It’s not an obsession Gray.” She said in a low voice as she shook her head.

Watching him as he rose out of his seat she gave him a wave when he said he would see her upstairs. Suddenly the urge to eat had left her and all she wanted to do was lock herself in her office and look over the map that hung from the wall.

Androkles entered the cafeteria only looking for a cup of tea. He walked over to the drinks section and picked up a normal sized cup. He held the cup over one of the floating taps and gently turned a know, causing hot water to fill up to cup. He took a bag of Teatilus Earl Grey and set foot toward the tables. He looked around, trying to find a group, (preferably a small one) of competent wizards.

Androkles seated himself at the table where two younger wizards where chatting. "McTavish, Brice", he greeted the man and the woman nodding at them. He put the teabag in his cup and let it rest there for the moment

Sydeny was pulled from her revere when she heard a voice say her surname. Looking up she saw Androkles. Giving him a faint smile she tried to clear her mind in order to hold a conversation with the older gentlemen.

“Hello Mr. Hearting. How are you today?” asked Sydney as she cleared her paperwork that was sprawled out across the table. She worked best in disorder but she knew that not everyone appreciated a mess.

Androkles looked at the young woman and furrowed his brow. He noticed that she talked to him as one would talk to an old and crazy person. Androkles sure was the first, but he was far from the second.

"Miserable as alway", said the man as he looked back on his tea. He could see the color of the water changing for every second.

As Sydney organized her papers into her folder, she looked up for a split second when she heard Adrokles’ reply to her question.

Poor Bloke was old but that wasn’t reason to be so miserable all the time. With age came certain privileges, such as senior discounts and knowledge that young people such as herself did not have.

“Oh, come now Adrokles…you can’t be completely miserable?” asked Sydney with a slight chuckle. “Now tell me why are you so miserable?”

"Well, it's these younglings I have in my squad" replied Androkles and took a sip from his tea. "Fresh out from Hogwarts" he said and shook his head. "Back when I joined the ministry, one actually had to have some talent" he said and took a deep breath. Androkles was probably the person who had been in the ministry longest. And he was only the Lead of the Reversal Squad. He had surely expected to at least be Head of a department before Marius.

Sydney listened intently to the old man speak and could understand his frustration. He was quite up there in age and so far had had a promising career, but still he really hadn’t moved up within his department.

“Ah, yes I see what you mean. I would think that they would need some sort of intern period before being thrown into the field. I think that would be safest for them.” Leaning against the table with her arms crossed, Sydney had completely forgotten about the issue that had been plaguing her just moments before Adrokles showed up.

“Hopefully they are quick learners.” She gave him a promising smile but knew it wouldn’t comfort him. “Well Adrokles not everyone can be as talented as you.” Giving him a wink she hoped he wouldn’t think her as patronizing him; because she wasn’t...she was serious.
