Ludicrous Patents Office

Every witch or wizard has come up with an idea in their lifetime that they thought could benefit society or just earn them an extra Galleon or two. Unfortunately, most of these ideas are just a little crazy...or shall we say ludicrous? The Ludicrous Patents Office's main job is to file through the many patent ideas and send the good ones off to the proper hands while filing away the crazy ones for the amusement for the rest of the Ministry staff.

Rows and rows of messy cubicles are located within this office. Each witch or wizard sitting at their desk can be heard giggling at the many different patents that they have received that day. The back wall is lined with filing cabinets used to store the various patents that will never make it past the planning stages.

Luriken walked off the elevator and into the department with his robes folded over his arm. He liked it better being the first person at work, this way he could finish work early and blow off the rest of the day with whatever he wanted to do.

He got to his cubicle on the far side of the room, the very large room. Luriken couldn't believe the amount of junk people made, but he didn't mind, he got a real laugh out of these, which is apart of the reason he came to work early so no one would see him smile or hear him laugh. He was never a laughy type of person in his teen years so he didn't think to make it time to start.

He hung his robes over his chair and sat. Leaning back he put his feet on the desk and nodded, Another day of work, hopefully it ends quickly. he smriked at his thoughts and the chair toppled over with him making a loud boom in the department. Horrified he scrambled to his feet and straightned his uniform then took his chair off the floor and back into it original position. Running a hand through his hair he decided getting breakfast would be best for him. Without another glance he left the department to the elevators.

Zouy Gray enter the office of Ludicrous Patents she was sure she had one of the best jobs in the Ministry. How many people could laugh at their job? She loved her job and the fun thing she had to do in it. People sent in things for Patents and if it was really different they sent it here to the Ludicrous Patent office. Sometimes the patents were actually usable and they went back but most were just too unbelievable and they kept them filed here. Zouy would summerise the patent and put them in a book so anyone who needed a good laugh would know just what file to look in. Yes life was good.

Luriken walked back into the department and saw Zouy "Hey Zouy." he said dryly and went to his desk She's early he thought and took down a couple of files from his desk and opened one reading.

Luriken groaned she was always happy and chirpy, annoying, "What is it?" he walked over and stood beside her tilting his head to get a better look at whatever it was.

Touy was excited " This person wants to make a self multiplying tea cup for Divination. O Doesn't it sound like fun. O no they haven't figured how to turn it off. Well it still sound fun doen't it? O come on Lurk it so silly its fun you can't say you that you don't think it a least intresting.

"Dont call me Lurk." he looked at her and walked away he never ment to be he just always is, no matter how he tries to tone it down "I guess it's interesting," he started "But how does it stop?" he sat at his desk and looked at a piece of parchment "Now this is useful, parchment that insults."

Luriken decided against making her explode, instead he cast an imaginary bubble around himself, soundproof that is. Can't believe she came in early

Ricki Bunny was making his usual rounds through the ministry before heading back to the security department for a quick break. He walked through the Patent Office. Nothing to abnormal, although it looked like there might be a bit of confict on the far side of the room.

Walking over there whistling some tune he'd heard on the radio early Ricki wondered how co-workers could never seem to get along. "Everything alright over here?" asked the short stocky blonde man looking from one to the other. The bloke looked like he was going to explode on his female co-worker.

"O hi" gushed Touy to the new person who had wandered into their office. "You must be Ricki Bunny I just love your name, my mother says we're related to rabbits. You could be a relation are you from Cornwall?

Asking about relations was not the answer Ricki had expected. Ricki had no time for small chat at the moment, he needed to finish is rounds of the ministry. "Yes ma'am I am Ricki Bunny, Security Guard and no i'm not from Corn wall. Now if you could please tell me what's going on here." he said employing his skills he'd gained interogating rowdy students as a prefect.

"O well this is the most exciting office in the MOM we get all the patent request that need a second look and decide if it is possible, practical, profitable and patentable. If it is we send it to the patent office if not we send a very nice rejection letter and maybe a note of possible adjustment to the sender of the idea. Of course if we reject it, we put it in the book people love to read this book and it always make them smile." replied Zouy

"I get what happens in the department. I was refering to what is going on between you and the chap here. Everything all right?" Ricki said as he scanned the room with his green eyes. "No problems going on between you two? He seems quite angry, I'm just checking to make sure security doesn't need to step in."

The past few days at the Ludicrous Patents Office had been quiet ones. This was about to change. Gavin Murphy walked into the office holding parchment in his hands.

"Good morning everyone! Got the latest patent applications here. I've looked through a couple and they seem pretty interesting if I do say so myself. The rest have probably gotten lost on my desk somewhere but I will have to send them along as I find them. Sorry 'bout that!" He said with quite a chuckle as he handed off the applications.

"Sorry I can't stay and chat for long, I'm a bit hungry and can't remember where I've placed my lunch."

Luriken read over the dragon proposal and smiled "This is a great idea he then looked at the other one about a Galleon Grabber and scoffed "I dont think so, it could be great but I wouldn't pass this. The goblings would be nasty about this one, imagine everyone buying this plus it isn't even developed yet." he put it down on the desk and re-read the Dragon Basket proposal. "Briliant." he whispered.

"Morning everyone! Hope the patents coming in are...entertaining" Gavin flashed a quick smile before remembering why he had come back to the Patent offices in the first place.

"Oh yes, I remember why I've stopped by. As you all know, the Quidditch World Cup is fast approaching and we've been given the task of arranging the seating for the Ministry. I thought that we could get everyone on Level Seven working on the task together. It should be so much fun!

If you could stop by my offices as soon as possible, I'll be breaking you off into teams so we can get everything done as quickly as possible. Thanks for all your help!"
