Construction may have just finished days ago, but you'd never know it by the way the newly converted courtroom-to-auditorium looked - so finished, so polished and so ready for its sole purpose - the opening ceremonies of the International Wizarding Conference. With introductions of each visiting country's Minister to be made, performances and foods to celebrate the world's leaders gathered here, and the British Ministry's very own Minister to open up the summit, a new venue needed to be constructed to allow for such events.

From the doors through which all enter, the seats cascade downward, all facing the most important area of any auditorium - the stage. A stage upon which will sit ten of the most formidable and respected leaders of the Magical World. A stage which will feature a number of speeches and performances unlike any other.

At the center of the center aisle is a round clearing, which will house the wand torch statue that represents the magic and power of a conference of this kind.

Set-up of decorations is just finishing up and shortly the opening ceremonies will commence!

"Penguins? Scary?" Lucy asked with a smirk that was followed by a chuckle. She kept walking until the display of Ireland and smiled.
Her stomach was the one to call her back to Earth.
She turned at Jake, her expression trying to disguise the sadness in her face.
"I think we should... grab something to eat." she said bitting her lip.

He nodded, agreeing with her. He led them towards the food tables in companionable silence. He was bursting with things to say, but felt that in order to be a good friend and colleague, he needed to keep those things to himself. Grabbing a plate, he turned back to Lucy and asked with a smile and a small bow, "What would you like, Ms. Stedman?"

Lucy shrugged, grabbing a plate to herself.
"Maybe..." she looked around the food table, choosing. "A salad." she made her decision. She knew she shouldn't ocuppy most of the time there eating. Lucy wanted to look around and, if possibly, chat with some foreign ministers.

He bowed his head and put a salad onto her plate. "There you go, m'lady," he said and smiled. "Listen, I'm going to the toilet for a few minutes, I'll catch up with you later, ok?" he asked. Grinning as a bold idea came to him, he took he free hand and kissed it, then walked quickly out of the room. He wasn't sure whether that was the best thing to do, but he felt pretty good about it anyhow. Her hands are very soft...

Lucy blinked again. When he took her hand and kissed her; that was something completly unexpected to Lucy. He focused on eating and studying the place, seeing if she knew anyone else. Her eyes searched for Annamaria or Samantha.

Armen wqalked into the vast auditorium and saw the thousands of witches and wizards he searched the crowd and saw Melanie,from his department, standing near by he hadnt really met her proply yet. he walked over to her and said "Some place Huh? Im Armen Recard. I saw you earlier but havent really introduced myself."

Annamaria was sitting at another table when she caught Lucy's glance. She wasn't sure what to do, so she just smiled and gave her a little wave. Pulling her gaze away from the Peruvian Minister at the sound of someone calling her name Melanie's blue eyes searched for the origin of this voice. They fell on Armen, one of her co-workers and she smiled at him tossing some her blonde hair back over her shoulder. "Hello, Armen. Yes, it really is awesome, isn't it?" Finally someone she actually kind of knew. She would have prefered Jack of course, but Armen was fine as well. Speaking of which, "So, have you seen Jack? Is he going to come up here as well?" Hopefully, she really needed someone to talk to, apart from Armen and the Peruvian Minister who wanted her to come to Peru with him. Weirdo.

Angelina’s thoughts about the conference were interrupted when she heard someone saying her name.

"Well that might be stretching my naturally cheerful personality a bit," Rico chuckled. "I mean, I can't possibly have a positive opinion about everything." or everyone. "But really, it's hard to find fault in such a nice setting here."

It was nice to see her smiling and Rico planned on keeping her smiling, for he had the impression that the young woman was usually so serious. Such a contrast to him, too. "Oh yes, I think I know who you're talking about," Rico nodded. "I'm very glad we had some people volunteer to decorate - I mean, I'm terrible at that sort of thing." He wasn't afraid to admit it. After all, Rico did excel at other things like....tinkering with Muggle artifacts....

Darn it! Oh, well, he probably had to come down here anyhow, right? Hopefully she was right. "Oh, never mind." Except that Melanie did mind. She needed someone to talk to and badly. Conferences like this could be so boring, at least she thought so, since Melanie had never exactly attended one but still.
"The job? Oh, well, there wasn't a lot to do up to now, well, except for our discussions about the Apparation Lessons in Hogwarts." She winked at him. "Do you think Lorraine's going to bring the topic up today?"

Samantha had been so caught up with taking care of business in her office that she hadn't realized that the wizarding convention had begun. Hastily she threw a dark colored jacket over her dress and began to make her way to the auditorium, excited that the moment had finally arrived. She had a feeling that her life was about to be changed somehow, though she wasn't quite certain how.

Annamaria took a breath and decided that she wasn't going to end a possible friendship over something as silly as mixed signals and her own disappointments, so she walked over to Lucy's table and sat with her, smiling a bit. " Yes, I just had to..erm, try some of that Peruvian food over there. It looked so interesting." She said with a slightly nervous little laugh.

She nodded and looked back at her plate before looking back to the minister. "If you wish, you can call me Cassie, only a few people call me by my nickname." She said to him and took a sip of her tea. "My department? It's very self explanatory, Magical Law Enforcement. I'm an auror and normally we go chasing and catching dark wizards." She told him, not mentioning that they did the occasional guarding like today and the ministers wedding.

"What are grits?" Theo asked, "They sound very much like the thing you pour on frozen roads. Which I am sure you don't eat. That would be rather sandy and salty." He shook his head, "I am sure he wouldn't like you calling him Cooperipoo. I think I would be fired if he heard me calling him that."

Ben was not very good at remembering things. Not one bit. He had noticed about 10 minutes ago that his floor was awfully quiet--even Mona hadn't come snooping around to bother him--and that was when he saw the little memo on his desk, and he remembered he was supposed to be in the atrium. GAH. Lovely, just lovely. Grabbing his things he had run all the way down to the atrium and paused at the door to catch his breath.

Valeria walked into the ceremonies looking quite regal in a totally white dress the swept the floor as she walked. She looked around at the other milling ministers and Ministry workers. The English was moving to fast for her to break into a conversation so she kept moving.

Teal said with a businesslike nod, "As long as you have everything together for the conferences." he said with a suspicious smile, since he hadn't seen or heard from him in quite a while. Noticing that the relatively new Rowan probably didn't know the newcomer, Teal decided to introduce. "Ah, sorry. Rowan, this is Vladimir Venin. Head of Spirit Division." Teal said with a nod, "And Vlad, this is Rowan Cromwell. New in Werewolf Registry." he nodded as he looked to Rowan.

Looking around, he noticed another table for beverages perhaps? Maybe there was some Firewhisky. "Let's go get a drink." Teal gestured towards the table, in hope of firewhisky, as he took a step towards it and turned back towards Vlad and Rowan, "Shall we?" he said with a crooked grin. In the office he was business, outside of it he was going to attempt to have a good time. Bottom line.

The man's brain and mouth move at 100 meters a minute. Its a wondered he hasn't burnt out by now." She hadn't met Nicoli but the one time at the wedding, but he seemed a pretty ok man. "Well you have to work in some sort of chaos. Criminals don't exactly work on a time table or in a ordered fashion. So you guys have to be adaptable to catch them." She missed some of that action being on Level 2, but she was calmer and happier without being a judge.

Valeria continued to walk around the room. Then she spotted someone she knew. Oh thank merlin!. Her heels clicked across the floor as she walked over. "Egypt Riddle?" She asked with her slight accent. "I see your sisters are still at it." She smiled as she took in the gorgeous robe that the woman was wearing. "It has been years. I think it was my inauguration that last time I saw you and your family." She leaned in and hugged her.

He laughed. “Forrester's a wee bit funny in the brain I think.” he said pointing at his temple. “Nicoli''s a good bloke. He has the patience of a saint.” He smirked slightly at the memories of the day thus far. How that man hadn't gone off with stress yet Nate did not know. “That's very true, but it's not the criminals causing the chaos.” he chuckled.

He looked around at the proceedings and spotted a few faces he knew. Angelina Gilmore was among them. He hadn't seen her in an age. He gave her a nod and a friendly smile making a mental note to go and talk to her later when she was free. No doubt she had been rushed off her feet organising this event.

Valeria turned to the man Egypt was talking to. "And this must be the charming man that you married." She held out her creamy hand for him to shake. "Valeria Nikolovna, Minster of Magic for Bulgaria." She told him formally with her official duty smile.

Rebecca nodded as Madison answered "This is more... Informal" she added "We sort of wanted you to relax before you go into the conference" Rebecca smiled, she flicked her wand and some music came on, it was quietish but you could still hear it over the chatter "Is that better Minister?" she asked kindly

Madison's eyes wandered around as she saw Rebecca's wand flicker. She wondered what was going on until she heard music lightly playing in the background. Her eyes lit up to the sound as she grinned widely. She adored music beyond words, but the music she loved happened to be played by a certain person on a piano. Oh how she missed Constantine at the moment, even in the middle of work, in the middle of the fiasco that was going on at the Ministry.

"That is wonder-" she was cut off quickly as the sound of someone yelling the words 'YOOOOO HOOOOOO'. There could only be one person with an accent like that...the American Minister. "Wow," she blinked a couple of times as she heard the twanging accent of the lady who seemed to be speaking above everyone else. "Quite an interesting group of Ministers."
