IWC Opening Ceremonies Guest Seating Construction may have just finished days ago, but you'd never know it by the way the newly converted courtroom-to-auditorium looked - so finished, so polished and so ready for its sole purpose - the opening ceremonies of the International Wizarding Conference. With introductions of each visiting country's Minister to be made, performances and foods to celebrate the world's leaders gathered here, and the British Ministry's very own Minister to open up the summit, a new venue needed to be constructed to allow for such events. From the doors through which all enter, the seats cascade downward, all facing the most important area of any auditorium - the stage. A stage upon which will sit ten of the most formidable and respected leaders of the Magical World. A stage which will feature a number of speeches and performances unlike any other. At the center of the center aisle is a round clearing, which will house the wand torch statue that represents the magic and power of a conference of this kind. Set-up of decorations is just finishing up and shortly the opening ceremonies will commence! |
Reagan entered the newly built auditorium and took a very deep breath. She loved the smell of wood and there was lots of it here in this large room. As she glanced around, she recognized how perfectly the construction team fabricated this room to the design they were given. Every wood shade was precisely the same as drawn, the fabric of the chair cushions the exact shade of purple as the Ministry's infamous logo, even the lighting was precisely the right hue as imagined. Walking up to the stage, Reagan inspected the large 'M' emblazoned on the wood of the stage, a symbol of the power and majesty of the magic this Ministry stood for. Getting to work on the definites of the set-up, Reagan whipped out her wand and began setting up furniture, starting with placing the large heavy table on the left-hand side of the stage on a diagonal so that all the Ministers would be able to be seen by every person in attendance at this conference while they were seated here. She next levitated to the center of the stage the podium from behind which some of the most important speeches of this Ministry had ever been made and from behind which several more amazing speeches would be made very soon. Glancing about the room as she attempted to envision how best to decorate, Reagan located the closet she asked to be built to house some of the Ministries linens for the conference, in addition to an assortment of other decorations that need to be displayed. Staring through the doorway into the small room, Reagan wondered how she would ever finish getting this room decorated in time for the start of the opening ceremonies... |
Cambell walked in the auditorium and looked around. She spotted Reagan across the room and walked, quickly, towards her. "Hello Miss Taylor." She said as she reached her. "This scroll showed up by Floo Powder in the Greeting Hall, it says it urgent." She said calmly, handing the scroll to her. Cambell couldnt help but notice that there wasnt much that had gotten done in this room. She wished she could help in some way. Cambell waited incase the scroll gave instructions in some way. |
Angelina entered the auditorium, her eyes observing the large room. Oh dear, that was such a large room and they didn't have much time to decorate it. She noticed Reagan examining the large 'M' inscribed on the wood of the stage, and she started to walk towards her superior. "Reagan." she nodded at the woman that was glancing about the room, then asked. "Do you have any ideas for the decoration?" Aside sticking with the traditional Ministry colours of gold, purple and white. |

Ryan came up to Level ten and looked around at the auditorium where the conference would be held. She looked around and saw the woman that she knew to be Reagan Taylor. She walked over and introduced herself. "Hello Ms. Taylor. I'm Ryan Jacobs from the Dept. of International Cooperation. I was told to come down here and help decorate" She said with a smile. |
Tonya walked into the auditorium and headed over to Reagan and Angelina, "Reagan, Angelina."She said the the women and nodded. She looked around the auditorium and thought for a moment. "I have a few ideas about the decoratons." she said to them. |

She spoke to Cambell, "Thank you very much for bringing me this. The Minister of Magic from Australia will be arriving late for the conference, so as soon as the other eight Ministers have arrived, immediately begin the tours. Don't show them around Level Ten yet because we haven't finished decorating and don't show them around Level Nine because we don't really want them to know about our Department of Mysteries. Just jump on the lifts and travel to Level Eight and begin the tours. After you've finished your stops on each floor, send me a memo. Depending on if we need more time to deocrate before you can bring them down here, I may send you to give them a tour of Diagon Alley. But hopefully, it won't come to that. Good luck. And thanks for bringing me this." Reagan waved the scroll slightly. Quote:

"Sure I can definatly do that" Ryan said taking one of the ends of the Banner." She was glad to help out in any way possible. Seeing as how she had some free time every now and then in her department she was happy to come down here. |
Jacob nearly sprinted to Level Ten, an interdepartmental memo crumpled in one hand. It detailed the decorating that needed to be done for the foreign ministers. It's scary how much I've felt like helping out lately, Jacob thought idly as he traveled. Maybe I should've been a Hufflepuff. He arrived at the room to see a brilliantly constructed setup, perfect in nearly every detail. There were a number of Ministry employees here already. Jacob wandered around, admiring all the creativity, finally making his way to where a lady seemed to be in charge, giving out instructions and requesting ideas. |

Tonya smiled at Reagan glad to be asked for her ideas, "I was thinking that each ambassador should feel at home and that a section of the room could be put toward each ministry that way every minister could see how each lives and we could all learn about each culture." she said smiling hoping it would help. |
Forrester entered the level 10 hall and headed towards the auditorium, he looked around and noticed Miss Reagan. "I'm sorry to disturb you in such a time" Forrester said when he was close enough. "But I just wanted to ask something... Does the minister need his security service now?" Forrester asked. |

Reagan's face spread into grin and she exclaimed, "Tonya, I just knew you would be an asset to our department when I read your application! Your idea is absolutely brilliant! We could devote each section of the auditorium to the customs of each country, displaying traditional clothing and items of daily life from the countries, because that is, after all, why we are here, gathered together - to effect the change that will affect the daily lives of the people within the magical community worldwide! Brilliant!" Reagan surveyed the walls of the room and began dividing the sections up for different countries. She explained, "Two food tables containing an assortment of traditional items from each of the different countries will be located in the back of the auditorium for the press and employees of the Ministry and another will be located just behind the larger table that I've already placed on the stage for the Ministers to enjoy. We could place the tables in between the displays on the back wall..." Reagan trailed off from basically talking to herself while she thought out loud and then explained more clearly the task at hand. "Let's work with the two side walls and the back wall to display items. Three countries on each wall will cover all nine visiting countries. Then, for the shorter half walls on either side of the stage, we'll display items from our own culture. Ok, now we need to determine which items we want to display. Let's go in alphabetical order and decide. Australia, Bulgaria, and China. What do you think?" Quote:

"Of course miss. Reagan, have a nice day and excellent job" Forrester replied as he turned around and walked towards the first floor |
Tonya listened intently and looked around the room, "Thats a great idea." she said with enthusiasm, "Do you think we could get a few employees to dress in the traditional clothes from each country? And maybe have them stand in that section and tell a little about the culture?" she asked her. |
"Sure thing" Ryan said with a pull of the banner. "Hows that look?" She asked looking back at Reagan. It looked good to her. Actually the whole auditorium was starting to come together very nicely. "What else would you like me to do?" SHe asked with a smile. |

"My name's Jacob Webster," added Jacob. Seeing that the woman's hands were full, he decided against his instinct to hold out a hand to shake. |

It just wasn't. You could ask her to do anything and she would do a good job. But job's involving decoration.. er.. anyways.. "Well.. a few.. but - she was interrupted by Tonya's voice. Oh thank Merlin she had ideas! The young woman moved her eyes to Tonya and waited patiently for her answer to Reagan's question. The young woman’s lips finally curved into a smile when she heard Tonya’s suggestion. She actually thought that was an amazing idea..and it looked like Reagan had the same opinion. In fact, Reagan got all exited with Tonya's idea.. she even started to talk fast, again. Finally things were moving. "Yes, sure.” she replied with a nod to Reagan’s question while she moved towards the heavy stationary kit. |

"Now, as for items, many of the Ministers' secretaries sent our Ministry gifts and tokens of appreciation, as is custom for the hosting country to receive. Quite a few were items I think we can use to decorate this room. I'd just need to head up to my office briefly to grab them. While I'm gone, perhaps think of a way to tastefully decorate each Minister's chair to make them feel more comfortable?" Quote:

"Miss Tayloooooooor!" Clara sang the name as she entered the big room. Since Taylor wouldn't clear her Brenny's schedule, she might as well do a little work. "This really seems like the place to be. Why didn't you tell me this is where the action was?" Clara, her pen out and flapping in wind from her prompt stride, approached the group of Ministry workers. Weren't they all just precious? "Could someone get me a coffee?" |
When Angelina turned around to answer to Reagan’s question, the woman was already leaving the room. Angelina smiled while she observed her boss leaving. “Er.. sure.” she said, even though she was sure that Reagan couldn’t hear her. The young woman turned around and kept writing the minister’s names when she heard someone entering the room. She thought that it was Reagan, but then she heard the minister’s wife voice. Angelina could imagine why Reagan didn’t say anything to Clara. Obvious answer.. she thought to herself. Coffee? Angelina couldn’t help think that Clara Belle must have passed by a thousand places where she could have asked for a coffee.. maybe when coffee was given to her by some ministry worker it tasted better. She turned around with a smile on her lips. “Good morning. she said while she took a step forward. “I’ll be right back. I’m going to get your coffee. That was not what Angelina was expecting to do as Junior Assistant.. but oh well. |

He soon found it, a neatly organized space the size of a small room. The table in question was covered in cloth, packages, and other seemingly random objects; Jacob removed them with a wave of this wand. With another wave of his wand, the table was clothed in the Ministry's rich purple, one more wand-wave and the completed table was levitating towards the stage. Jacob carefully guided it, setting it down silently, then readjusting it's position a few times before he was satisfied. As he was finishing up, he noticed Clara Belle enter the room and ask for a cup of coffee. Jacob would have gladly jumped to help her, but another worker, one not from his department, sprinted to get the drink before he had a chance. Disappointed, Jacob glanced around the room and noticed, with further disappointment, that Level Five was sadly underrepresented. |
Donia walked in to the auditorium, pausing momentarily as she surveyed what was going on. This whole thing was a bigger deal than she had expected. She looked around for Reagan, the person Rico told her to go see about helping. |
Reagan re-entered the auditorium to find that not much progress had been made during her short absence. And ugh! Clara was here to interfere with everything! How in the world would she get anything done with The Beast lurking over her shoulder!?!? Placing the boxes on the floor beside the door, Reagan called everyone in the room back to regroup, "Everyone, please join me over here. We have a lot of work to do and not much time left to do it. I've gathered items sent to us by many of the foreign Ministries whose Ministers are in attendance of our Conference. We're going to devote small areas of the walls of the room to the cultures of each country by displaying numerous items, like clothing, athletic equipment, etcetera. I'm going to give anyone who wants to help a box with items from a particular country and I'm going to direct you to an area of the room that I'd like for you to set up. Who would like to volunteer?" |
