Gift Table

In the corner of the reception hall is a very very large table for the guests to place their gifts to the bride and groom. By the size of the table, it is fairly obvious that they expect lots of gifts, so be sure to leave them one! If you've forgotten to buy something, you may want to stop in the Ministry Gift Shop and find something quickly and don't forget to have it gift-wrapped!

OOC: Be sure to say what type of gift you're leaving on the table. How else can the bride and groom thank you for it!?

Egypt walked over to the gift table. It certainly was a big table. She didn't know the Minister nor his bride and felt sort of bad that she had to get a very generic gift instead of a personal one.

She reached into her bag and pulled out a rather large box. It was wrapped in delicate silver and gold leaf paper with a big gold bow tied on top. She loved wrapper presents.

There were two boxes inside of her big box. The gift on top was the one from her mother. Her mother couldn't make the wedding she had a meeting in the Sudan, but she wanted to send along a present. On top of her gift was a card.

It read: Minister, the Republic of Ghana would like to congratulate you and your bride on this happy occasion. Please forgive my absence as important issues in Ghana have pressed me into service. I hope my daughter will service as a proper agent in my stead. We shall celebrate your union in Ghana. Here is a small token from us to you and your bride.

Sincernly,

Afia Riddle
Ghana Minister of Magic

She had sent the couple a complete Lighting crystal set. They were very rare and very expensive when you could find one. When lighting stuck sand it left behind glass and if you added the right charm to the glass it would mold into the most beautiful crystal. Not even the Bavarian goblins could make a more lovelier crystal.

On top of the second box was a second card

It read: To: the Minister and his new bride
From: Nathan and Egypt Greenwood

In their box was set of goblin silver flatware. She had to go to Paris to get it. The goblins in England were a little vicious with their silver. Egypt hope they liked it, she tried to pick out a very delicate set. She figured the bride would want to use it more for formal state dinners and such. She set the box down on the table and she tapped her wand against the side to place a anti-breaking charm on it so no one would smash the crystal inside if they set another box on top of it. She really hoped they enjoyed their gifts.

Elwood laid his small package near the pyramid of presents, it contained two items, a silver pocket watch for the Minister, and for his wife, a small golden locket.

Edith walked over and added her present to the mountain of gifts that was already piled there. It was a small box, that contained two smaller boxes, sitting next to each other, one black the other purple.
The card sitting on top read,

Dear Minister Cooper and Ms. Belle,
Congratulations on this momentous occasion.
I wish you luck for the many happy years of wedded
bliss in the future and I hope everything goes well.
Yours Sincerely,
Edith Griffiths.

The parcel contained one black box and one purple. The black box contained an ornate gold pocket watch, it had a crystal face and gold hands. On the back was engraved, Congratulations in very curly writing. The purple box contained a silver necklace, wrought by goblins, finished only the day before. The pendant, which hung on a thin loop chain, was a heart, fashioned from many tiny swirls and knots.

Edith looked at the box. She hoped they liked the presents. She turned on her heel and walked away from the table.

Serena placed her gift, which was wrapped in gold and purple gift wrapper, onto the gift table. A card could be seen poking out of the wrapping. It reads:
Congratulations, Minister Cooper and Ms. Belle. I wish you luck on everything you attempt in the road of your lives, and may you have eternal happiness.
Yours sincerely,
Serena Campbell.

She smiled. The bride and groom would be happy to see all those gifts, including hers. She have given the happy couple two jewelries: For the bride, a silver bracelet with a silver key on it. For the groom, a golden pocket watch with a golden lock engraved on its surface. She saw those at a Muggle jewelry store in Vietnam, and decided that they are perfect.

Warren whistled as he walked over to the gift table. Looking around he saw that some people had already left gifts on the table. So it's my job to inspect presents...right. He took his wand out of his pocket and tapped each one so it would divulge what was in side. Jewelry...Jewelry...more jewelry...oh look flatware, at least somebody was different. He sighed and put his wand back into his pocket. This is going to be a very long night He stood by the table and folded his arms. He stood waiting for somebody else to bring their presents over so he could inspect them.

Samantha walked up to the table and saw all the impressive gifts which were already there. "Well, I hope the Minister and his wife enjoy this," she said, laying the purple box with black ribbon on the table. The box contained a very rare time turner, something she had been able to obtain through her sources and she thought that the couple would enjoy it, visiting places from the past together.

Antonio added his gift of two muggle watches, one for a man and one for a woman, both encrusted with diamonds, emeralds, rubies, sapphires and pearls. Something very appropriate, coming from a Muggle Studies professor, he thought. He added the silver picture frames and note from Monica and turned to go, wishing everyone to have a good time at the ceremony and reception and left to take the wayward kids back home.

J. J. Starr puts gift on the table. (gift= 16 inch gold statue of Virgin Mary) and Jason Potter Weasley's gift on the table( gift= A bible with a 16 inch gold cover.)

Cinn-O-Bun 05-28-2008 07:07 PM

Warren watched as four people came up and laid their gifts on the table. He took out his wand again and tapped each one. more jewelry...a time turner? Is that allowed? A book and a statue..that last two must be real religious. He looked around and saw how many people were arriving. [i]I'm going to need some sort of order here or I'll get swamped. He waved his wand and another table appeared in front of him with a sign that read...

Quote:

Gift Inspection..please wait in line with your gift in hand so that your gift may be inspected.
There, this should work better. Could use a little help though, to at least keep me company.

Tegan stood with her gift in hand. Inside the small box was a collection on miniture magical creatures that a friend of hers had let her have to give to the couple. There was a centaur, a dragon, a troll, a unicorn, a hippogriff and a re'em. They all had their own sections in the box. She thought the couple might enjoy some strange pets.

Cinn-O-Bun 05-28-2008 07:17 PM

Warren saw a woman walk up and set a box on the table he had just created. "Hello." He took out his wand and tapped the box. Miniature creatures? Now that's ingenious. "I take it that they are well secured. I'm not in the mood to go chasing them around."

AccioNeville 05-28-2008 07:20 PM

"Oh don't you worry," Tegan reassured the man. "They are all quite secure in each of their holdings. But will you make sure this stays with the box?" She held out a letter containing everything the couple would need to know to take care of the creatures.

Cinn-O-Bun 05-28-2008 07:23 PM

Warren took the letter with a smile that lit up his face. "Sure will." He tapped the letter and the box and the letter stuck to the side. "All right. Now it won't move at all." He picked up the box and sat it on the table with the others behind him. Turning back to the woman he said with a smile, "You can go ahead and sign the guest book now and leave a memory."

Warren looked around and frowned. Taking out a piece of parchment, he always kept parchment with him, and a quill he wrote a quick note to Forrester. He tapped it and watched as it zoomed away.

kami12 05-28-2008 08:36 PM

Forrester made his way to the gift table and looked for his aurors. Finding Warren he headed towards him
"Warren how's everything?"

Cinn-O-Bun 05-28-2008 08:39 PM

Warren was standing against a pillar with his arms crossed looking at the people in the room. He saw Forrester heading his way and stood up straight. "Well...aside from that box," He pointed toward the box with the miniature creatures, "which makes odd noises once in awhile. Nothing exciting what so ever. The box is safe I checked." He added hastily, though he kind of wanted to see the look on Forrester's face when he checked it.

kami12 05-28-2008 08:51 PM

"Okey leave it on the table we will do a recheck on the gifts later, please Im putting you in charge of the gift table till Cassandra arrives... Don't mess things up I know you can do it you have good experience" Forrester replied as he looked at the box.
"I need to return to the check point now... Once the ceremony is open I want you to head there... Send message to everyone aboyut this" he ordered as he returned to his post.

Cinn-O-Bun 05-28-2008 08:56 PM

"I checked the ones that were left before I got here. I can handle it." Warren watched as Forrester walked off and then took out his parchment and quill again to write notes to all the Aurors about meeting at the ceremony.

Shanners 05-28-2008 09:16 PM

Abigail walked toward the table. "Is this where I leave the gift." She gestured to the square box in her hand wrapped in black wrapping paper witha purple bow. She stuck with the colour co-ordination. It contained 2 bath sets one for her and one for him and also flower seeds that you could decide which flowers you wanted. The note attached read:

Dear Minister and Miss Belle,
Congratulations on this day of your lives.
I hope it involves enchantments you could never dream of.

Abiagil Wood
Magical Maintenance.

Cinn-O-Bun 05-28-2008 09:20 PM

Warren saw a woman walking toward him and stood up from his leaning post. He smiled at her as she approached, "Yes, it is. Hi, I'm Warren Rodemiere, Auror come gift inspector. Just put you're gift on the table so that I can analyze it."

Shanners 05-28-2008 09:25 PM

Abigail placed her gift on the table and smiled. "There is a set of bath stuf for each and flower seeds which the bearer can decide which flower they would like."

Cinn-O-Bun 05-28-2008 09:29 PM

Warren smiled, "Lovely idea." He took out his wand and tapped the box. It was indeed bath stuff and seeds. He picked up the box and set it on the table behind him. "All right, you're clear. Please go sign the guest book and place a memory in the pensieve. Enjoy the ceremony."

Shanners 05-28-2008 09:34 PM

"Thank you. " Abigail smiled amd walked away.

Having had clearance from Security, Susanna fumbled in her bag as she made her way towards the gift table before withdrawing a small, round box, wrapped in dark blue paper. She knew, inside, carefully cushioned, was a cystal she'd found a few years ago, a deep purple colour - perfect for the colour scheme, she thought. A note was cushioned somewhere inside it, with few words on: Congratulations on your wedding! Wish you all the best for the future, Susanna Samuels, 5th Floor.

Reaching the table, she smiled at the man there, placing the small box with the round crystal on the table.

Cinn-O-Bun 05-28-2008 10:03 PM

Warren saw another woman walking up to the gift table and smiled. "Hello, I'm Warren Rodemiere, gift inspector extrordinaire." He glanced at the small box she had set on the table and smiled. He took out his wand and tapped the box. A crystal...hmm...better set this aside and have Forrester look at it. You never can be to sure. Warren put his wand away, picked up the box and set it slightly apart from the rest on the long table as a reminder. He turned back toward the woman and smiled, "Thank you. You may now head over to sign the guest book and deposit a memory in the pensieve."

Shane gracefully walked over to yet another Security Guard. She handed the perfectly wrapped gift over to the Guard. She stared at it for a few moments, admiring it's nice purple wrapping and the black bow on top she had tied herself. She hoped that the soon to be married couple liked what she had gotten for the two of them.

"Oh!" she said in what she liked to call her 'Judge voice', looking at the Guard. "I guess you need to know what's in there. Correct?" She looked around to make sure that the bride and groom were nowhere near her. She smiled and whispered, "There's a load of gifts in there for the two of them. Bath supplies, a couple of scrapbooks for the two to fill over the next few years or so, some books that I think the two will enjoy, and some nice freshly made robes for the two." Her smiled grew wider, showing her white teeth.
