Department Head of Magical Creatures ( May 2009 - Sept 2009)

As you travel down the long corridor, you pass several rooms before you reach the largest door at the end of the way. Beyond the door is an office, which formerly belonged to Teal Andrus. Yet the name on the plate was now different, someone else had gained control of Level Four. The golden plate had a different name plastered across it now, much different, and it read;

Quote:

TETRUS SANTANA
DEPARTMENT HEAD FOR THE REGULATION AND CONTROL OF MAGICAL CREATURES

And located just under the plaque was a mirror that was framed with silver that had over a thousands tiny phrases engraved all over it. Each one of them read “I’M ALWAYS WATCHING”; and the Department Head, Mister Santana, had a matching mirror on her desk that could view everything going on outside the door. The connection was genius, and rather sinister as well.

After knocking a few times, Santana will offer you to enter. Upon entering, you notice that the room much is darker that most offices. There are a few dark, pastel paintings of family members, but hopefully you have enough sense not to ask him about them.

On the grand wooden desk is a few vials in ink. There are some messing, cheap looking quills all stuffed into a vase. Any files that he might have out are messily strewn across his work area. There are a few picture frames on his desk, but they are facing the Department Head in a way that you cannot get a proper view of them. He has various types of incense that are burning a peculiar purple smoke. The smoke eerily rises to the ceiling and the vanishes in a haunting fashion.

Santana himself sits in a large swivel chair, to which if he is facing the opposite wall, you cannot see his head. The chair itself is intimidating as it is, and the pierce stares from the Department Head just make it that much worse.

Along the back wall is a very detailed map of Africa, one a muggle would not be able to read. Black dots are constantly moving across it and various words flash across it every few minutes in Swahili; Santana's native language.

As a whole, the rather dimmed room is anything but welcoming, if anything, it is dooming.

ZDARDSKY 06-19-2009 06:31 PM

The gritty, newly instated, Department Head strode into his dark office after meeting with someone briefly in the atrium. He was transitioning just fine, living conditions were just so much better here than they were in Africa.

Ah, a new memo was on his desk. The Africa sat down in his huge chair and read over it quickly. So he needed to talk to Mayes, was it? He didn’t even know what his Division Head’s looked like yet, and he probably wasn’t going to make an effort before meeting them anyways. Hakuna Matata, eh?

He coughed briskly into his robe sleeve and whipped out a piece of parchment. He began to write the letter in Swahili, but he soon realized he was in Britain now. Tetrus gave a wheezy laugh and wiped it clean. After finished the note in English, he tapped it once with his wand and watched it soar to it’s destination.

He leaned back in his chair significantly and stroked his goatee, he was going to enjoy this power. Immensely.

"Sir?" Kasandra knocked on the door softly before stepping inside of the office. oh... she had forgotten for a moment that the department head had changed. But she brushed it off, and walked in with a air of confidence. Good impression.

Kasandra smiled at the man, and flipped her bright pink dreadlocks over her shoulder and pushed up her glasses. "Hello, sir- I am Kasandra Tonk from the Dragon Research and Restraint Bureau. I have been working with four young dragons for the past little while now. Just now the papers have come in for them to be sent to the dragon reservation. They just need your signature." Kasandra smiled sweetly. She was sad that she was going to have to see the dragons be sent away so soon- yet it really was part of the job.

ZDARDSKY 06-25-2009 05:50 AM

Tetrus squinted as the light from the outside corridor engulfed his dark room. An employee had entered… apparently. She was gruff looking, maybe the dred’s gave her that look. He wasn’t surprised to hear that she worked with Dragons.

“Good to meet you sistah.” He wheezed, as he looked at the papers that were now before him. “Call me Tetrus.” He added from the corner of his eyes, leering in her direction.

Picking up the quill, the African signed his scratching signature and promply coughed into his robe. “Which reservation, if I might ask?” He turned in his swivel chair to look at the giant map of Africa with the excessive dots moving about. The Department Head could not be soon from Tonk’s position, the chair was too tall.

He wanted the Dragons to be to Tripoli, no matter what his incompetent predecessor had wanted. Surely he’d have them sent off to Romania, it was the European thing to do.

“To which reservation are they being sent, may I ask?” His voice came distantly from behind the large swivel chair.

kaZombie 06-25-2009 06:03 AM

"Romania unfortunately." Kasandra said taking the papers back into her hand and putting them in a folder- as to not loose them. Loosing them would not be the greatest thing to do.

"Although it is a wonderful reserve, I hoped to keep them a bit longer to study. Yet it is there time to move on I guess." She shrugged and smiled. "We currently have a cross-breed, still young I don't know how it will react with the weather. I know for sure he is mostly Peruvian Vipertooth, the size says it. He doesn't have a strong taste for humans though as most of them do. It was lucky for me I guess." She chuckled softly. The smile then softly wore off her face. "I just hope that they figure out where he needs to be soon if it isn't Romania."

ZDARDSKY 06-26-2009 01:54 AM

Romania? No no no. Tetrus made a clicking noise with his tongue as he swung back around in his chair to face Tonks. “I do not believe that is the correct decision.” His dark, deep set, eyes eyed the girl.

Lining up his fingers together, he put them to his lips in though. “These Dragons are to be sent to Tripoli in Libya,” The Department Head said with a wheeze. “I know the mon’ that runs the Reservation. He’d allow us to follow up inspection within the reservation. I free pass, if you will.”

His dark eyes looked down to the paper in a sinister fashion. Grabbing his quill, he crossed out the word ‘Romania’ and wrote in Libya: Tripoli.

“Do you agree with this, sista?” His dark eyes leered up at her, daring her to say no.

kaZombie 06-26-2009 02:33 AM

"Well Sir I do believe that the Peruvian Vipertooth would do loads better there than Romania." She smiled sweetly, and although she could see Tetrus not wanting her to object- and although she didn't want to get off on the wrong foot with him- she felt as though she had to voice her professional opinion. "The Welsh Green we have would probably be better in Romania. I've been to Libya, the guy would have a better chance with the climate in Romania. Same with the Norwegian Ridgeback. I'm just afraid that it will be too hot and dry for them."

Kasandra looked down at her papers and then back up at Tetrus with confident eyes. There was nothing smirk or sly about her. All she was trying to do was figure out what would be best for these dragons. "But I think Libya would be loads better for The Horntail and the cross-breed." She said lastly, waiting for his reply.

ZDARDSKY 06-26-2009 05:05 AM

“Yes, yes. I do agree on that account.” He said slowly in his accent. Looking down at the paper Tetrus began to think deeper. Perhaps she was right about the climates. The Norwegian and Welsh wouldn’t do well in the Harsh Libyan climate.

His quill started flying over the paper at an alarming rate. Different words and signatures going in their places. “Ok sistah, we’ll do it as you wish. Just know that you will nevah’ see the Welsh and Norwegian ever again as they are sent to Romania. Surely you haven’t grown too attatched, that would be foolish.” His wheezy voice seemed questioning, judging.

“And the otha’ two well be sent to Tripoli. Have them ready for transport by 4PM. Yes?” Hopefully, this was all clear.

kaZombie 06-26-2009 05:39 AM

Kasandra shrugged and smiled. "Sometimes you can't help but grow attached, but I would rather them succeed in a place where I have no chance of seeing them, then hinder in an environment where I can see them suffer." She smiled softly one last time and bowed her head slightly. "Thank you sir I will." She said just before leaving out the door.

ZDARDSKY 06-28-2009 07:00 PM

Tetrus yawned as she explained herself on her take of being attached. Dragons were violent creatures of instinct. Maybe it was his background, but he just didn’t understand how one could become attached.

“Until then, sistah.” And she turned in his chair to look back up at his map as she left.

Pandora took a deep breath and knocked on the door. She had been nervous about this day, her hands were shaking. Her odd mirror on the door made her nerves even worse. "Am I doing the right thing being here?" she thought.

Tetrus was scanned over the map on his back wall when he heard a knock at the door. He swung around in his chair and looked at the two-way mirror on his desk.

Ah, it was a girl. He’d just received a new file, perhaps she was the new employee.

His dark eyes looked up towards the door, “Come in, sistah.” His wheezy voice called out.

Pandora screwed up her courage and walked into the office. She was struck by the gloom, and looked around to see if the lamps had gone out. She then realised that the colour of the walls was causing the gloom. This fact did not help her nerves at all.
"Good Morning sir, I'm Pandora Fortunea". She was relieved to find that her voice was level. "I was told to report to you, I'm the newest member of the Goblin Laison Office".
Pandora was struck by her new boss's appearence. She had never met a man with hair that long. Her father had always discouraged her from speaking to men, and she had always done anything to keep him happy. Pandora was not usually intimidated by anyone, but this man was different. Stuck for something to say she blurted out
"Umm, I wonder if you checked my name against the werewolf register Sir, before assigning me my position?"
Why did you say that? Why? What sort of idiot are you? She thought.

Tetrus eyed the woman with his mysterious eyes. “Ah, Fortunea. Good to have you here sista.” He looked at a file on his desk for a moment, then back to her. Yes, same girl. “Please sit down.” He advised, rather, commanded.

Just as he was about to ask her something along the lines of ‘what had brought her to seeking work in creatures’, or, ‘how did your parents come up with the name Pandora’, she asked a completely surprising question.

His dark eyes narrowed.

“Ah, so we have the blood of a wolf among us, do we now?” He asked, rhetorically as his chin tilted toward the ceiling in speculation. “I do not know, I haven’t examined the list, you see. Shall I check, or, should this be our little secret.” The Department Head laughed his creepy, wheezy laugh.

Pandora stiffened at the word secret. Did he think she should be ashamed? Was he prejudiced? It wasn't a surprise, she had dealt with that attitude before.
"No sir, I really don't care who knows. My family was attacked seventeen years ago when I was ten. My mother and my twin Prometheus were killed and my father was infected. I cared for him until he died three months ago. I was the only one not to come into contact with the werewolf. I just thought it was best for me to start on an honest footing. There's no point in hiding it."
Pandora was aware of the confrontational tone in her voice, and wondered if Santana had noticed it. Pandora wasn't sure what to make of the man who was to be her department head. He had an imposing manner, and she recognised someone who liked conversations to be to the point. Perhaps he would appreciate her honesty.

Tetrus rested his head on his chin, and eyed the woman questionably. A very sad story, but the Department Head didn’t flinch a bit. His childroon had been just as rough, and at times, probably worse. Growing up in Sierra Leone was no easy feat.

“I am sorry for your loss, sista.” He said, emotionlessly. “One of my best mates when I lived back in Africa was a werewolf. Kept under stick control over Wolfsbane, of course.” His dark eyes scanned the girl once again.

Hmm, so SHE herself wasn’t a werewolf. That was probably a good thing, not that Tetrus minded one way or another, but the outside world always seemed worried when a position of importance was given to ‘half-breeds’. All in all, Tetrus was so bizarre he was basically a half-breed.

“Anyways, this is not the time for me to hear of your nostalgia.” The Department Head strummed his desk with his long fingers. “Within the Goblin community, rebellions have begun to occur. And THAT, Pandoraaa, is our primary focus, yes?” He gave the a-ok sign.

“So, if you would report to the Goblin Liaison offices promply, your Division Head will be in shortly to debrief and settle you in. Hakuna Matata.” He said, throwing in a wheezy laugh. “Just down the corridor, should be a sign, sista, ‘should be a sign.”

HannahLongbottom 07-02-2009 10:58 PM

So he didn't care about her past. Good, she just had to hope that they would all feel that way.
"I'll go look look for that sign sir, thank you for your time."

“You ah’ very welcome. Please, feel free to stop by if something is on your mind.” His dark eyes eyed her in a strange fashion. He seemed dark and scary… well, he was. But he wasn’t opposed to helping employee’s.

HannahLongbottom 07-02-2009 11:32 PM

He was looking at her intensely. She really did not know what to make of this man, he was intimidating, obviously intelligent and yet there was something else...

She stood up, smiled and walked out of the office.

ZDARDSKY 07-07-2009 08:13 PM

Tetrus gave her a lazy sort of salute as she left. Once she was gone, her turned around in his chair and began to study that peculiar map yet again.

Leeness 07-07-2009 08:43 PM

Nerves. Nerves. Nerves. Kaylee hadn't really had a job before, well, not a proper one anyway and to be given such a grand opportunity such as this was just insane. It had started to spark thoughts in her head. For instance, what if the spirit division post was, ironically, haunted and that is why they had to settle for her. I mean, she wasn't much, right? Maybe some of Daddy's connections had put in a good word or something. Either way, she had the job and now she was petrified. Petrified and ready to report for duty.

Walking up to her new bosses office, she chapped three times, nice and clear. It was weird for her to have a boss. Normally Kaylee was bossing others about and if not that, then she was very much her own person who only got ordered about by... herself. Nerves. Nerves. Nerves. She hoped Tetrus Santana had a bucket in there... ya know, just in case.

ZDARDSKY 07-07-2009 08:46 PM

Hearing a knock at the door, Tetrus swung around in his seat. His dark eyes looked quickly at the two-way mirror that sat on his desk. Ahh, so this sultry blonde was his new Division Head? How exciting.

“Come on in, sista’.” The Department Head sat back in his chair and folded his arms.

Leeness 07-07-2009 08:53 PM

'Sista', did that mean her? She waited outside the door for a moment, looking down each end of the corridor and saw that no one else was there... well, not visibly at least. Opening the door slowly, she peered her head in and saw a rather scarily, terrifying office, but made note not to show she had any fear whatsoever... this wasn't helping with the nerves at all, though. "Mr Santana?" She asked, rather feebily. Where was that bucket?

ZDARDSKY 07-07-2009 09:48 PM

Tetrus grinned as the woman entered the room, she seemed nervous. “Yes yes, take a seat.” He said, his dark eyes eying the chair in front of his desk. He took a quick breath, the she smelt quite good. It was either her or the incense… probably both.

“You must be, Kaylee Grace. Yes?” He grabbed a file from the far side of his desk and put it before him.

Leeness 07-07-2009 09:54 PM

She took a seat as instructed, risking another glance around the rather peculiar room before returning her attention onto Tetrus once more. "Yes, sir. Yes, I am," she nodded rather a little too enthusiastically.
