The Themes

36. Muggle

"Muggle?"

"Muggle."

The two brothers sat cross-legged on their beds, which were positioned about 2 meters apart in their room.

"That's a horrible word." Casper mumbled, looking disgusted at Theodore.

"I know, but it's what you are. And Kath, and mum, and dad." He replied, in a big burst of almost-excitement.

"And what are you?"

"I'm...." He stood up on his bed, rather abruptly, and stared into space, "I'm a wizard! A mighty sorcerer of magic." Once Theo looked back down, to beam at his twin brother, he SIGHED to see that he had already left the room.

Oh, rude.

94. Allergic

"What's that?" Theo looked very closely at his dinner, right after his mum placed it in front of him. Inspectin'.

"What's what?"

"What's THAT yellow stuff all over my spaghetti?" Casper and Kathryn were eating it, and his mum was already getting cross at Theodore for being so picky.

"It's cheese, Theodore."

With that, the boy pushed his dinner to the other end of the table. "I'm allergic to cheese."

"No, you are not. Eat it." She was getting impatient now, tapping her finger on the table.

"NO!"

Theodore jumped up from his chair, and rushed upstairs, slamming the door.

25. Sorting Hat

You know, it was very hard to believe that in his first year, Theodore wanted nothing more than to be sorted into Gryffindor house. That was where the brave and courageous were, right?

Wrong.

He couldn’t be any more of a Slytherin, that you could almost smell it radiating off his body. And Slytherins were brave, TOO, thank you very much. Theodore reminisced his first year whilst looking at a picture of him and his besties.

Of how he remembered begging a Gryffindor to swap robes with him one time.

"Merlin, I was such an idiot." He mumbled to himself.

12. Charms

First to arrive once again, Theodore Kinsley pulled a seat at the very front of the classroom, directly in front of the teacher's desk. The professor wasn't here yet, but her name was written on the blackboard ahead.

Professor Bellaire.

Theodore stared at it for a good 5 minutes. Where WAS she? Why was she keeping ~~him~~ the class waiting? Her big brown eyes were the ones that he'd been waiting to see all morning, the ones that always glared at every student bar him.

Sure, he sucked at Charms, but could you really blame him? Distraction and such.

39. Duel

Theo KNEW that he had to practice his defence spells. Ever since his EPIC defeat against Peyton Baltazar, the poor boy was feeling a little bit deflated. Though, it probably taught him a lesson to not be so cocky about things.

He stood in front of the mirror on the fourth floor and started off practicing his poses.

WHOOOOOOOOSh.

Wand flickin'

Theo peeked over his shoulder and said the inevitable. "You talkin' to me?" ...and then... HE DID ALL SORTS OF FLAILING. BOOOOOOOOOOOOM. His wand pointed at himself in the mirror, and Theo felt like the most awesome person ever.

4. Ancient Runes

A third year Theodore Kinsley's eyes were heavy as the Ancient Runes lecture was as boring as ever.

His glazed eyes laid upon a blonde friend of his, who was sat a few seats in front of him. The lovely Ella Bishop.

Just a friend, of course. But she had nice hair, he thought.

BLOOP.

Theodore jumped in his seat when a drop of drool fell from the corner of his mouth. Oops, nothing to see here. Theodore directed his attention back to the teacher and decided to never look at Ella Bishop, or ANY girl ever again in class.

83. Fearful

Going to Hogwarts was a pretty daunting experience, especially for a muggleborn. Theo surprised himself that he wasn't freaking out on a day to day basis, what with floating objects and strange creatures everywhere.

One thing he couldn't quite come to terms with: ghosts.

Theodore hid behind The Great Hall doors, peering inside. He needed to go inside but the floor was crawling with them.

Seconds before he was about to turn back towards the dungeons, there was a... "HELLO!"

"ARGH!!!" Theodore fell to the floor as a ghost seeped through the floor beneath him. He was TERRIFIED of ghosts.

84. Angry

Stupid Gryffindors.

Nah, Theodore didn't hate all Gryffindors. But there was one that he really didn't gel with. Fischer. What's worse - Fischer was now chomping her teeth into his best friend.

Not literally. He hoped not, anyway.

They hadn't been together for long, but Theodore had plans to break them up. He thought about those plans as he frowned at them both in the Great Hall, sitting a little further down the table from them. If only he knew what the future held for those two. West could do so much better than that one.

He thought it was stupid.

92. Chocolate

This child was not one for keeping a balanced diet during athletic seasons at school, and you’d often find him munching on all sorts of sweet treats first thing in the morning, even before a game.

He arrived at the pitch, ready for a mighty match against Gryffindor, suddenly hearing a lot of laughter coming from behind him.

He heard the word POOP, and his eyes widened. Theodore gave EYES to his teammates, who gave knowing EYES back to him.

Yup, he’d smushed chocolate into his quidditch robes.

Nope, it was not POOP, despite his reputation in his first year.

99. Trunk

The end of an era was here. Theodore had packed everything up and was ready to move out of his and his childhood sweethearts apartment, having moved the big stuff earlier, leaving one big trunk of important stuff to lug around.

He took this moment to reflect on the place as he lingered in the doorway. He never liked this apartment. Too small, not in the best area of town. Still, it was pretty gutting to leave. It was his home.

Anyway, time to go. Let’s see what the big, bad world bad in store for him on his own.

1. Herbology

His new apartment was looking… bland. He was definitely not gifted in decor, and wondered if maybe the place just needed a woman’s touch.

There was one item that he had managed to put up all by himself. A basic plant that sat on his window sill, which was supposed to be a gift for his mother but he’d ended up keeping for his own.

Reasons being because it reminded him of someone.

It was a mundane plant but the person who had sold it to him was anything but. Looking at it reminded him to hit said someone up.
