Chaudron Étang - Grounds

Located in the recesses of Beauxbaton's grounds, sits a deep lake that resembles a cauldron - Chaudron Étang. The water is warm, hot on most days, and it bubbles up on occasion like a cauldron set to boil. As inviting as it may look, you are strongly advised not to enter the lake. The shoreline is shallow but it quickly breaks into a steep drop that could pull down the unsuspecting swimmer.

There is plenty of room along the banks of the lake for you to sit and have a moment of leisure. Pay no attention to the rumblings that build up. It has been many a century and nothing has risen from its depths. At least nothing the staff haven't been able to throw back in successfully.

Maéva thought it was just lovely to be back at school and it was an equally lovely day. So much so, that she thought she'd do her homework outside.

The lake was one of her favorite spots on the beautiful grounds and she sat near the water's edge with her Divination book open on her lap. She was blissfully unconcerned with some of the changes being implemented this year, though she was a little bummed about Non-Magique Studies no longer being offered. It was a fun class. But she supposed that only left it open for her to take a different elective in its place. That was where Divination came in.

She didn't quite understand it yet, and she lazily flipped through the pages until she found the correct method they were learning in class. But maybe it would be really interesting if she could learn to predict or change the future!

It was pretty early to be out, but it was probably Paskal’s favourite time of day, when the air felt so clean and untouched. The fact that the grounds were currently not overrun with his classmates was certainly another plus. He crossed his arms across his chest to warm up a little and found himself at the lake, where he found himself a seat by a nearby tree. He had heard a few rumours about people getting pulled into the lake if too close, although it did spark his curiosity.

The blonde was usually seen with a book, but he hadn’t brought anything for entertainment today. Instead he watched the lake for a few moments before lying down on his back and closing his eyes. The birds were very loud today.

Apprehension that the lack of response was indicative of rejection, Delilah busied herself with her studies as well as flowering side projects as a distraction. Today this consisted of picking wild flowers and other greenery around the grounds to press and preserve, most likely for her journaling but she may use some for candle making for her final art project for Professor Colin's class as well as Professor Lefevre's. She was certain she aggravated the Astronomy professor with her take on his assignments, but a flowering solar system spoke to and inspired her and the yellow mimosa flowers that dotted the greenhouses, some seeds scattering to the grounds as well, were so vibrant, fluffy and practically begging to be accumulated into a sphere and used for the sun.

Her hair cascading freely down her shoulders and curls bouncing against her cheeks while framing her face, she knelt down to gracefully pluck several sprigs of wild lavender (which would go perfectly with the chicory and blue-pimpernel she had collected for Neptune's elegant gradient) when she noticed Paskal and her cheeks immediately rouged.

He looked...peaceful. Like perhaps it would be rude and intrusive if she were to greet him or otherwise interrupt what looked like a very peaceful nap. Quietly, she tip toed closer to him and compromised with using an Engorgement Charm on the leaves of one of the wild plants nearby to create a sort of umbrella to block out the sun so he did not get sunburned while sleeping.
