Default Artifact Chambre

Artifact Chambre - Second Floor

A favorite room of Ancient Studies students, the Artifact Chambre serves as part museum and part study space. Housed inside the medium-sized room are many artifacts of lost civilizations, including those of Atlantis, Easter Island, and Maya. The originals are kept behind glass with security charms, but there are many replicas that students are permitted to touch and study.

At the opposite end of the exhibit display are the study tables next to the bookshelves filled with information on ancient cultures and civilizations. There are also several sets of runic stones for divining use or study. And a practice excavation set is also set up near the tables for learning the proper technique used in unearthing artifacts and fossils.

Since the first time she stepped into that room, the Artifact Chambre had become Catherine's favourite place in the Beauxbatons Palace, not only for the magnificent antiques. The solitude and quietness that usually came with being there was her haven.

As per her custom, the Ravenclaw-Ombrelune moved to the item in the exhibit display that was next to the one she had observed and read about last time she was there. She'd take a few minutes reading and taking it in before moving on to the study tables.

Maéva did not visit the Artifact Chambre often. In fact, she had forgotten exactly where it was located and needed to ask her professor yet again where it was before she headed that way. It just wasn't particularly interesting to her and in her opinion there were better places to be, but it was a necessity today.

For her seventh year divination final project, Maéva was exploring alternative forms of divining. She was fairly well-versed in many of the usual ways, but runic divining was not one she was as good at, and this room was said to have a special set. Runes were hard! But she was determined to get a good mark on this project and impress her parents.

As she wandered in, Maéva noticed another girl about her age already there. She didn't recognize her, but gave her a friendly smile all the same. "Hello there!" she greeted her in French. "Have you seen the animal bone runes by any chance?" Maybe if she already knew, that would save her some searching time.
