By no means out of sight, you catch a glimpse of something that looks like an extremely animated tree. You wouldn't be mistaken there! The Whomping Willow has resided on the Hogwarts Grounds since 1971 and has grown up to be the truly majestic beauty that we see today. But be warned! With all that beauty comes a very violent and powerful species of magical plant with a mind of its own. Do not get too close as the damage that this tree can cause could be potentially fatal. Approach at your own risk!

She could feel the sun baking her outer eyelids but this was relaxing and how you showed appreciation for the sun in case it left again. The Headmistress said they'd fixed things but were things ever really fixed in this place? When it wasn't one thing it was another. Lex shifted about in the grass near the edge of the tree--not too close though on account of her planning to live through this nap but suddenly the tree wasn't her only concern.
Alexa pried her eyes open at the feel of fur against her face and found her kneazle trying to get cozy. What in Merlin's beard....?
With a firm shove, Lex had him tumbling onto her stomach where he seemed content enough. Now where was she? Right, dreaming of adventures beyond the gates of Hogwarts. The quiet did wonders for her imagination and soon her eyes were closing again.

Dot was exploring, and it took her almost no time at all to find the great big tree that Lex had been telling her about. And quite coincidentally, Lex was there, under the tree (or nearly under it) and taking a nap when Dot happened upon it during her sojourn on the grounds. The little ginger paused well out of the reach of the branches until she decided that she could be at least as close as Lex without getting injured.
She crept closer and crouched, hands wrapped around her knees and wary eyes on the tree in case it made a grab for her. There was a kneazle there too, and Dot clucked her tongue at it for attention. Here, kitty kitty. Anything?
Her voice came out as barely a whisper. "Lexor? You sleeping?"

It wasn't Dot's approach that woke her, nah, Lex never heard the sneaky little Slytherin, it was Felix stirring on her stomach, uncurling himself in what she could only imagine was curiosity. Not just anything interested her kneazle so naturally, she had to peak an eye open in case whatever it was was epic enough to keep her awake. Above her was a crouching Dot and a Felix moving to rub against her. Well there was something you didn't see every day.
"I was." Lex said, letting out the faintest of yawns . Did Dot need her opening her other eye and sitting because this right here was comfortable. "Or trying to. The tree's usually peaceful when you've decided to ignore it and there aren't too many idiots making themselves easy targets." Hard to sleep while those around you were getting whacked, y'know?
"And you? Come to wrestle the tree and sneak your way down to Hogsmeade?" If yes, don't answer. She wasn't a witness. Plausible deniability and all that jazz.

Nope, not sleeping. Dot settled back on her heels and perked up considerably now that she had the older girl's attention. Oh, and sweet Circe's bonnet, Lexor had a shiny button thing on herself. Prefect thingy, yeah? Or, what did it say? She tilted her head a bit to try to read the words upside down.
"M'going to make it not peaceful, ok? Not going to Hogsmeade or an'thing, just... fancy poking at it a bit." She wasn't allowed to go to Hogsmeade, anyway, and it was good to pretend like such a thing mattered. Dot would rather learn all about the tree and then sneak off with her friends once she'd mastered it.

Her other eye peaked open in avid curiosity of the Second Year...who'd taken an avid interest in her chest....
Took her a whole nother minute to figure it was the badge that got her. "Don't go staring at it in this light, might take your eyes out with the glare." Because for the weirdest reason there was this one kid that asked to polish the bloody thing and wouldn't stop giving her looks until she handed over said badge for the job to be done. Just what she needed, a shinier target on her chest. Circe.
Dot's plans were safe though, and the kind you could witness without suffering for right after. "Have at it. He likes having stones thrown at him, makes a game of it and has a wicked left hook you gotta watch for." Sound advice right there. At the moment there was no real need for her to get up and seek shelter. How mad could the girl get the tree anyway?

Head Girl. Lexor was Head Girl. Dot scrubbed at her face and stared up at the tree branches, which were moving lethargically in pursuit of a bird that dared to fly too close. It didn't seem to really want to take out the bird, but it had a name to uphold. It was a lot to take in at once.
"Where's the knot we have to hit?" She shoved to her feet and began to search the ground for likely stones. Her path was serpentine, although she was careful not to get too close to the tree. Yet. She wanted to get properly close to it soon. "Is it a he? How d'you know?"

Lex followed Dot's gaze up toward the branches of the trees and saw a bird fluttering about. It was smart to not dip further than it currently was. Right now the tree was doing that passive existence thing where it merely existed so long as you stayed clear of it. Felix had learned that lesson too, thankfully before any broken bones could happen. "The knot's on the other side. Look for the two outgrown roots growing closest together." She lifted her head just a little. "Felix could show it to you if I asked."
And Merlin how was she meant to know the gender of the tree. It was just a boy because she said so, OKAY?? "He's a boy, definitely a boy. Told me so himself because of that special connection I told you we have." Although....it wouldn't be the first Alexa got genders wrong, or the last for that matter.
"How're you liking the dungeons? Spotted the Giant Squid flopping by yet?"

Dot didn't neeeeeed Felix to show her how to find the knot. She was going to find it herself, thanks. She circled toward the side of the tree with the roots and the knot and the apparent entrance to the exit out of Hogwarts, and then Dot circled back. Lexor was still laying on the ground with Felix, and Dot wanted a visit.
Of sorts.
"Warmer than Durmstrang. No one's been swimming by yet." Although she had hopes of making friends with a mermaid. It was very disappointing to discover that she wasn't in a tower, but a mermaid might make up for it. Dot threw a rock at the nearest branch, and she actually smiled when the tree batted away the pebble easily.
"I have a kitten. He needs a name."

Lex could only assume her kneazle's curiosity was satisfied because he'd taken to curling up on her stomach again. That only strengthened her resolve to just lay there and enjoy the warm day. Wouldn't be warm much longer, another month, month and a half then it'd get chilly for sure. Felix must have gone back to sleep but Lex's eyes remained opened, watching the oh so curious one circle the tree. It was all good so long as she didn't get herself killed which didn't seem to be happening.
"Maybe you should try meeting the squid beforehand then asking him to pay a visit? He's not one for tea and cookies but he's good for conversations anyway." Not that she thought Dot would be able to hear through the thick glass windows that kept the water out but there would be conversation on the shore by the lake so....
"Do you? A proper Kitten or a kneazle?" And yes, that did make a difference. "Give him one that'll have people scared to ask what he is." If the name was vicious enough, one would only need to threaten setting the thing on them to get them to comply.

Dot leaned back on her elbows, unconcerned about what the grass and dirt might be doing to her skirt and shoes. All her concern was spent up watching those great waving branches and timing how long it took the Whompy Willow to reach his targets. A pebble in the air was batted almost immediately, and when Dot tried a few at the ground, she thought the reaction time was a little slower.
Something to think about.
"Okay," Dot sideeyed Lexor. She wasn't sure if she even wanted to meet the squid, but it wasn't something she'd argue about. Advice was just advice, and if she didn't take it, she doubted Lexor would ever come find her to ask about it. Perhaps someday, Dot would want to make friends with the squid, and here she already had an introduction on how from Lexor.
"Kneazle. I don't care if people ask, and I don't want him too scary to cuddle." That's why she had him, even if kneazles were dead useful for other things. She wanted something that was hers and always happy to see her.

Her fingers made the slightest of moves toward the closest rock but in the time it took her fingers to brush across the solid earth, she got to thinking that this wouldn't be the best angle to get a shot at the tree from. Quite the awkward position her hand would find itself if she tried throwing toward the tree so she abandoned the idea altogether.
"Well see that's the beauty about kneazles, they fulfill both roles perfectly." Lex gestured toward the felines snoozing on her stomach. "He's a sucker for affection. I get more cuddles than I know what to do with. At the same time, he's a predator that doesn't play nice with others." Not completely true. Felix played nice with the people he knew she liked, but she'd never seen him give so much as a second glance at someone she couldn't stand without a few hisses and claws involved in the mix.
Her eyes slipped closed once more, a sign she was getting comfortable all over again, even if she wasn't falling asleep. "So how come I saw you and Dima crawling under stables at the feast?" Lex had thought it odd but with all the Puffer chaos there was hardly any time to think about it. Now though, they were strewn under a violent tree without the slightest urgency. All the time in the world to find out.

Making sure to keep a fair distance from the Whomping Willow, Lux sat down on the grass and crossed he legs. Pulling Toffy out of her jacket pocket, she petted the little blue fluff ball before feeding him some treats. He always loved those and made happy Pygmy Puff sounds which caused her to laugh.
Toffy was a good boy and hopefully he wouldn't hop off towards the tree where he could get hurt. This was the reason she could never take Arya out here; the cat always tried to run off where she could get smashed.

Angel was walking around the ground trying to figure out what was going on in her mind, one minute she was happy and wanting to go out with Ben and then the next time she wanted to just stay away from everyone. A lot of things were going through her head.
Angel smiled as she suddenly saw Lux. "Hey Lux!" Angel beamed as she looked around the whomping willow. "Sometimes I wish that this tree would move more." Angel thought it would be amazing to see the tree going crazy. "How are you today?"

"Felix isn't a very fierce name." Not a complaint, but just a fact. Dot threw four pebbles at once, two from each hand, and it was fascinating that the tree only got three of them. And one was nearly on the ground. So that would help. Sacrifice some firsties if she needed to make a run for the tree, 'cause it couldn't go four ways at once.
"He's grey. He's a boy. He likes to sleep in warm spots and he gets under the covers with me right now. Like this." She pawed at the air to show how her kitten pulled back the covers. "I don't want to name him after food."
She wasn't sure that she wanted to talk about Dima, but Lexor... she was good people. Dot twirled her plait around her finger. "He's my bestest. I was supposed to be with him, but the hat wouldn't talk to me." She hated that hat.

"Hey, Angel! I'm good, how are you?" Continuing to pet Toffy, she looked from her friend to the tree. "Well maybe if we tossed some things close enough to him, he will wake up?"she suggested.
The Whomping Willow was a he, right?

Charlie had half thought the threat of the cold would still hang around the Castle this term, and was overjoyed to find out that they were allowed outside again, and she hadn't the need for seven coats and nineteen scarves. She did, however, have one coat close, just in case. Of course, the cold would come soon, but it wouldn't be anything near as awful as last year.
She hoped, anyway. The seventeen year old spread her coat on the floor some feet away from the Willow, before dropping her back and seating herself neatly down. Her plan was to distracted herself by drawing the tree - a difficult subject to say the least - but on opening her book she became distracted. Distracted from her distraction by a drawing of herself and Tristan. Which caused major pouting and mopeyness and the need to go home.
Was it normal to just sit and stare? Or should she do flower presses like he'd taught her around the artwork?

Haha, yeah, Felix's name. Lex shrugged, not bothered by the revelation. "I know it's not. Didn't want it being. If it sounded vicious people wouldn't try their luck and I'd never get a good show." Oh look, Felix the harmless kneazle, let's pet him and watch him puuurrr. Brilliant as she thought it was. "He didn't need a vicious name either, he is vicious." Hard to believe though with him just lying there lost to the world. One of his lazier days no doubt.
Her eyes opened to watch the explanation acted forth. You had to admit, the kneazle sounded presh. "Well...what do you want him named after? Anything you like in particular?" That was always a good place to start. For her, she just saw him and he happened to look like a 'Felix'. Still did.
"Ooohhhh, one of those things." Lex wasn't sure how else to play it off so there was another shrug to start. "If you ask me, you dodged a bullet. Nothing special or decent about Ravenclaws, really, even if they've got some decent people, the house itself is a bit sketchy." To put it mildly. If Dot was Dima's little friend she probably took after him with that sensitivity issue that irked her and she liked Dot so she didn't wanna do anything that would cause the girl to annoy her. " 'Sides, now you've got two Common Rooms instead of one."

"You're a confusing person." Or she gave out advice that she didn't necessarily follow. Like this idea that Dot's kneazle should be ferocious when she'd gone and given her own a very common and person-like name. Or maybe she was suggesting Dot's kneazle wasn't vicious. Which, now she thought about it, Dot didn't want him to be vicious. She could take care of herself, so she really just needed a snuggler kitten.
"I like lots of things. Maybe I'll make a list and try 'em out on him." That seemed like a sorted plan, and now Dot was done worrying about names. She wanted to take a run at the tree, actually. "Dima is a Ravenclaw. And Kyroh and Maddie. They're special and decent." The specialest and decentest people in the world. Or Dima was, and the other two seemed promising. She did like the idea of having two common rooms, though. Was that allowed?

It was nice to hear that Angel was doing well, and the prospect of having some fun with the tree was pretty exciting in Lux's opinion. Best to hide Toffy away again, as the Whomping Willow's branches might scare him. Into her pocket he went after a few more head pats.
"Okay, but just to be safe let's make sure to not actually hit the tree. We could get in trouble." Lux didn't want to get in trouble with the new Groundskeeper especially when she didn't know if he was nice or not. Looking around the area in case he might be lurking somewhere nearby, she half paid attention to what Angel said next. "I'm not sure, it was just a guess...but hey the Whomping Willow being a girl would be awesome! A fierce girl tree." Nod. "Oh, that's a good idea! she added enthusiastically at the mention of asking the Herbology Professor. "I want to meet him. I hope he is really nice like Professor Bentley. I miss her. She accepted me as an Honorary Lion. I hope Professor Flamsteed will too; but he's so nice, I can't see him not."

Noel wasn't a fan of the whomping willow. He should be amazed by it, but nope he wasn't. It scared the beejeezus out of him, actually. Who wants to be stomped to death anyway? And also, cause some tree got annoyed by you. What a way to go. Death by a tree.
Noticing a girl sitting so close to it, Noel was actually befuddled. Why would you do that? "Doesn't it scare you?" he called out, a few feet away from where she sat. "Or are you hoping to be stomped on?" Did she have a death wish? Was Hogwarts already bringing her down? She seeeeemed sad.
Well done, Hogwarts.

"I'm not." Lex admitted, eyes momentarily locked on the tree once more. "Different problems, different remedies. You already said he was a mass cuddler, doesn't sound particularly mean spirited either so the name would have been the make up. Felix was always mean, I didn't need a supplement." Didn't matter though, Dot had a game plan for name picking and maybe it was for the best it didn't sound like something the Headmistress would send home without explanation. Wouldn't that be something?
She wouldn't argue the point of Dot's friends. That was something one didn't do for the most obvious reasons. Of course, Lex didn't really know Maddie and Kyroh had been a....hugger and crier....and Dima kicked her in the shin then ran but Lex wouldn't allow herself to question the younger girl's judgement on people because that was a recipe for her to walk away and the ground was ever so comfy right about now. "I'm sure they all. Stumbled into anyone else since the feast?" Naming three people because you only knew three people wasn't the same as meeting a multitude and deciding they were all rubbish save three people.
Big difference.

Angel looked at Lux and smiled. "Oh that is true, we don't want to hurt ourselves." Angel said truthfully. "I hope that we can get it to move." Angel loved seeing the tree moves as she really hoped that everything was going on. "Oh that is awesome... I think that it is." Angel stopped as she tried to think. "actually I have no idea, how do we tell the difference." Angel giggled, was there a way. "I think we are going to have to meet the Herbology Professor." Angel was now very curious as to what the tree was, Male or Female." Angel smiled. "I hope that the Professor doesn't mind us asking the question." Angel beamed as she looked at her friend.

The Whomping Willow. The stuff involving Adi, Angel and Benny that took place here last year came rolling back into Adi's head. Quite honestly, he was still a bit guilty at blowing up at his friends like that but he couldn't help it. Well, that was int he past now. No use dwelling over it.
Adi pulled up a patch of grass a safe distance from the Willow. It was a good day to hang out in the sunshine and get some reading done. He had his Herbology text book with him. The Hufflepuffer decided he would lie on his back and while holding the book up, he would read. Sadly that would not happen for the moment he raised the book, he decided he wanted a nap. Instead Adi placed the open book over his face, set his hands behind his head and waited for sleep to take over.

Voice. Male voice. Non-familiar voice. Distracting her from staring longingly at drawings of her pretty handsome boyfriend. Was said voice calling her weird or soppy or just being generally mean? Was said voice even talking to her?
Looking around a little, Charlie gestured to herself as her eyes landed on the boy who'd spoken. Someone she didn't know at all. But he was definitely talking to her (at least, she thought he was - how awkward would it have been if she'd replied and he wasn't? The thought almost made her shudder) and her brow furred at his questions. "I... It doesn't, no."
With a glance back to the tree, the seventh year continued talking without looking at the boy. "From this distance, in it's docile -" however docile the Whomping Willow could be "- state, it's branches can't reach." She paused for a moment, tilting her head to one side. "I guess it's like any other creature: it doesn't thrash around unless it's provoked." And she wasn't going to go poking it at any point soon, no thank you.

Nodding at Angel's comment about not wanting to get hurt, Lux slowly got back to her feet. Brushing some grass off of her pants, she looked around to see if there was anything on the ground that could be used. Hmm. Those twigs might work. Picking two up, she handed one over to her friend.
"I'm not sure how to tell the difference, but I think the new Herbology Professor won't mind us asking." He was a teacher, and part of being a teacher was answering questions that students had. Maybe he wouldn't know either. Maybe trees didn't have genders. Lux had no idea, but there was only one way to find out.

The whomping willow was one of the most fascinating places Chance liked to go to. It had an errie but comforting tone to it. He liked to doge in between the branches as they swiped at him. It was a game. It was always usually pretty quiet at the tree too. A lot of people thought it as irritating with them trying to study and the branches knocking the breath out of them. So it was a little but of a surprise when another boy was lazily sitting by it. A mischievous grin spread across chances face.
Trying to be quiet, chance quickly ran over to the boy and saw the book on the ground. Herbology!! chances favorite subject!! Grabbing the book, Chances attempt to be quiet vanished as he plopped down hard into the ground beside the boy. "Oi!! You like Herbology??" He asked. Not many people did so when Chance found someone to talk with about it, he took it.

Other people? Dot chucked a pebble at her own foot, just... to see what happened. Ouch. What happened was ouch. "I met a boy called Bart who said Gryffindor girls were prettiest." She still wasn't clear on that one, to be honest. How could that universally be true, anyway?
"And there's Dante, in my house. He's a Dark Wizard. And I've met some others in my house." None that really stood out to her so far, but it was a lot to take in, this being new to a group of people who already knew each other. "I'm supposed to make friends who are girls."

Adi had almost drifted off fully for his nap when he was rather suddenly brought back to the real world. WHO in the world was interrupting him? His Herbology book had apparently fallen off of his face because he was staring up at the bright blue sky.
That's when he heard the loud voice. It wasn't one he recognised. Adi heaved himself up into a sitting position and rubbed his eyes. Man. He'd been dreaming too. He'd been dreaming about AJ.
The fourth year turned to look at the dude that had interrupted him. Who was he? Oh. The book wasn't on the ground after all. The unfamiliar dude had it. "Herebology's fine. I prefer Care of Magical Creatures.'' He eyed the boy. "You interrupted my nap. I can put you in detention for disturbing me.'' LOL. Adi could do no such thing but he just felt like having a bit of fun. He was even smiling slightly.

Lex felt herself prickle some. Dot had met Bart? It took everything in her not to outright go, "Ew." Oh whoops, she said it anyway. Sigh. There was no helping that. "Gryffindor does had a knack for gorgeous people, yes, but you shouldn't go talking to him too much unless you want your brain rotting and your character coming into question." And yes, she meant every word of that. Alexa had experienced Bart on several occasions and was happy enough knowing this was the last year they'd share a Common Room. Him and Kevin.
Her brow perked up in amusement. "Dark Wizard, huh? He any good at hexes?" She could appreciate the aspiration. Not everyone had what it took to be a dark wizard and not everyone decided they wanted that life. It took the special few, like maybe this Dante kid.
"Who says you need friends that are girls? I mean they can be useful sometimes but boys can be just as good." She reached over and poked the little snake. "And I'm a girl."

Care of Magical Creatures? For real? Who would want to handle those freaky looking things that drove the carriages on the way to school? Surely not Chance! His face probably portrayed his feelings as he looked disgusted, and unbelievable at the face of this... gulp .... Prefect.
Wait...
He was a Huffie Prefect. He couldn't do that to him could he? .... Nah!
Chance cocked an eyebrow at the boy and his face erupted into a grin. "One: Even if you COULD give me detention, it wouldn't be for disturbing you, and Two: you are a Huffie Prefect, you can't give me a detention anyways!" He hoped his smile was contagious.
"Besides, if you do like Care of Magical Creatures, what are you doing... napping with a Herbology book? Shouldn't you be reading something you preferably like?" Chance asked as he thumbed through the Herbology book. Oh! Mandrakes. Chance loved him some Mandrakes. Those nasty buggars!

Waho.
Noel could BET on his life, this girl was a ravenclaw. "You are a ravenclaw, aren't you?" he called out, still not moving from his place. No matter how docile - um and whatever she said the whomping willow was, Noel was not going near that thing.
"Yes. But. What if someone else provoked it, and you get stomped in the process" he said, standing on his toes and trying to see what she was doing but he couldn't so he took one giant step toward her. He was still pretty far from the girl, so it was okay. "What are you drawing?" he asked, when he saw the papers in her lap.

Giving a nod, Lux was glad that Angel had agreed with her on asking the Herbology professor about the tree being a boy or girl. But there were more pressing matters to be dealt with at the moment. Namely her being the first to toss the twig.
Figuring she had nothing to lose, Lux let it fly while waiting to see if the Whomping Willow did anything.

Why was the guy looking so disgusted or something? Was it becuase of the Magical Creatures subject? Just for your info, dude, that subject is just awesome. Especially when you've got a cool Professor to go along with it.
Adi grinned at the guy's reasoning. "Quite right you are. We're not allowed to give detentions, anyway.'' He sat cross legged on the ground, the wind blowing his hair all around. "I'm Aditya but call me Adi. Fourth Year. What about you?''
"That's true,'' Adi continued, liking this fellow. He used his brain, alright. "But I like that subject so much that I read the text book a lot. I haven't spent as much time on other subjects so I figured I'd change that this year. You know, when you really like something there's always the motivation to do stuff related to it but it's the total opposite of when you don't like something.'' What a long explanation that was. LOL.

Chance's hands automatically went to the grass blades as he sat down with Adi. He gave a goofy grin when Adi mentioned he was a fourth year too. "Gryffindor Fourth Year." he said with a nod. Fourth years unite!
Okay, so his explanation about the book seemed to check out. He'd give him that. "Well, I should probably start reading Care of Magical Creatures then because... one of my weakest subjects." Chance stated with a shrug.

The whomping willow was perhaps the coolest tree ever, and AJ still had plans to climb it. Or to do something cool with it. How many people could say that the climbed a tree that tried to wallop you good? Still, she needed to figure out how to do it without getting caught. The second year wasn't too worried about getting hurt. That wasn't necessarily on her list of priorities.
As she made her way over to the tree, she stared at it for about five whole minutes. Then deciding that she would enjoy the sunshine while she came up with a plan, she plopped herself down on her belly and kicked her feet back and forth in the air.

That was possibly the new most amazing thing at this school!
He'd practically run run where he was to see this thing up close... was it violent or friendly? It looked kind of violent...

This was the second time for the term that someone had reminded Adi about himself. First it had been Nola and now Chance. Both were so high on smiles and happy like usually was. Persons like that were just awesome!
"Cool. Fourth year buddies, then?'' Adi shot Chance a wide grin. Erm...had he been blind to miss this cool guy before? Course, Hogwarts did have loads of students so there was no way he knew everyone. Anyway. "That's one of your weakest subjects? Well, if you ever need help with it, just let me know.'' Adi wasn't an expert in the subject but he did know a lot about magical creatures.
Ohh. So Chance was a muggle born. "All that magic does take some time to get used to,'' Adi agreed. "I can just imagine you stepping into Hogwarts for the first time and been greeted by a talking hat, moving staircases and moving portraits.'' LOL. "And Platform 9 3/4...what did you think of that?'' You know, the wall and all.
Adi laughed at the next question. There was no doubt about whom Chance was referring to. He and AJ did spend loads of time together. "Yep, AJ is my girlfriend,'' he confirmed. "You must know her.'' They shared a common room after all.

Well, well, well... look who had just joined her. It was one of the newest members of the Gryffindor house, and the firstie that AJ claimed as hers at the beginning of term feast. "Hey, Leo." How was she? Fantastic, awesome, on cloud nine. He could really pick any of them. "I'm good. How about you?" Because she cared.
"How are you liking Hogwarts so far? And more importantly, Gryffindor?" Was anybody giving him any trouble? AJ would totally kick their butts. "See that tree over there?" she asked as she pointed at it. It was time to see just how Gryffindory young Leo was.

"Well I may just take you up on that offer of help one day then, buddy." Chance said nodding. Lord knows he needed it. He wasn't fond of muggle pets, much less magical pets whose beaks, claws, and teeth could rip him to shreds. No thank you! He'd stick to his owl, Oli, and thatd be that.
The wall. The dreaded wall. "I still have to talk myself into walking into it every year. The first time I was told to walk through it I was like, 'its a wall. i will break my nose. no' I ended up getting pushed." Chance said and shook his head. "I love flying though. One of my favorite magic perks."
"Yes, I think I do! She's my Little actually. Small world. I just met her not too long ago actually." Chance said. She had been just as cool as he was. And that coming from a secnd year.... was impressive.

"I'm pretty good" he commented with a grin. And it was true. So far he'd met a lot of cool people, explored a pretty awesome school and had some of the most awesome classes/teachers that he'd ever had in his life.
But anyway back on track with the conversation.
"Hogwarts is amazing" he beamed. "And Gryffindor obviously so" he added to the end, which was true. Gryffindor was amazing. Obviously the best house ever and the best people ever. Including Airey. Airey was just amusing to the young lion, even if he couldn't always keep up or understand the Professor.
"The tree? Yeah I saw it from inside, main reason I came out here actually... I was kind of wondering if it was friendly but it doesn't look like it..." looking at it he wanted to try to get closer to it and see whether it actually was unfriendly.

What was this?!
Maggie had stopped a SAFE distance away and was now STARING at the tree. Which was moving. And not just the normal, in-the-wind kind of moving. No it was...MOVING. BIG TIME SWAYING! And the wind was coming from the opposite direction. She had CHECKED. With her finger you know.
Of course she'd first looked around to make sure no one was around to see her.
THEN she had licked her finger and held it up. Yes. So it was safe to say that this tree was NOT moving because the wind was moving. NO-OH.

"How'd you know?" Charlie frowned a little, wondering if she'd left her scarf or badge attached to her in some way, but she was out of robes and her dress wasn't even blue or anything. Hmm. Maybe she should have pretended not to be, for a laugh? But she wasn't exactly the type to do that. Turning back to the boy, she eyed him a little. If she had to make an assumption, she wasn't going to say Gryffindor. He'd be a lot closer if that was the case - but hey! she wasn't going to judge. Maybe he was a Ravenclaw, too: it wouldn't be a surprise that she hadn't recognised him, and he had known about her....
Getting braver, for the not-so-Lion. "Then they're stupid. And they'd also get hurt in the process." With a bit of a shrug, Charlie shielded her eyes with her hand to see the boy better as she spoke. "You're not going to go around shouting or throwing things at it, are you?"

No homework was the best sort of homework, as it meant Archie could continue exploring the grounds. The evenings were getting shorter, and as a result, he needed to cram in as many outdoor adventures as he could before winter set in and only the weekends were available for sightseeing.
Today Archie was armed with his camera, with the aim of taking plenty of pictures to send home with his next letter update. He'd already got a few of the castle, so the next stop was the Whomping Willow. Preferably with a few to show Benjy how daring he was in getting close to it. Had his cousin really played jump rope with it?
"Excuse me," he asked, as he approached the person with the finger in the air from behind. "Would you mind taking a picture or two for me with the willow?"

Maggie IMMEDIATELY lowered her finger and folded her hands in front of her. Not doing anything weird. Nope. Not at all. The person's words hadn't actually registered in her brain just yet, she was too busy looking normal. She even ran a hand through her hair to make it look pretty. Even prettIER.
Eventually she turned around.
Oh. Okay, she shouldn't have bothered. "What?" Something about photos. She didn't really care.

Gryffindors were such a lively bunch, and she loved that she was apart of this house. "Glad to hear it." AJ would keep an eye out for him to make sure that he wasn't falling behind.
"So amazing." There was still so much that AJ needed to explore herself. "Gotten lost yet?" She remembered back to her first year, and being late for her first ever Astro class all because the staircases decided to move. The lion meowed at the professor and somehow managed to not lose any points. Good times, good times. "Gryffindor is the best. You couldn't have gotten a better house." And she wasn't just saying that because it was her house.
AJ wanted to have fun, but at the same time she didn't want to lie to him. "It's actually not very nice. It will whack you good if you get to close to it." Hence the name, whomping willow. "I reckon that I am way faster than it, and can keep from getting whacked."

Adi laughed. "Who pushed you?" He didn't think going through the Wall should be an experience where you wanted to be pushed. "I think I was nervous but my mom kept reassuring me.'' Thank goodness for understanding moms. Hehe.

"Uh... yeah I got lost once when I was exploring the castle" he admitted sheepishly, grinning at AJ as he ran a hand through his brown curls. "But it was ok, I met another lion who was pretty awesome... in fact she looked like you" he commented offhandedly, finally realising why she had looked so familiar.
Hmmm... so it was a mean tree...
And then AJ said something about thinking that she was faster... so did she also want to try climbing this tree. A mischevious grin crossed his face as Leo looked at the other lion.
"So... how are we going to do this?" he asked with a grin, figuring she'd be on the same page as him. Knowing her, the tree had also attracted her to this place in the first place...
And Gryffindors were supposed to be brave, why wouldn't this tree attract more of them?

He hung the camera back around his neck, and was about to head closer to the willow and leave Rude Girl to whatever she had been doing when he paused. He was curious. "You came then? To the weird magic place." Was she still so upset about it now she was here?

Any ther subjects he was good at? What? Chance wasn't necessarily book smart. He was more... common sense smart. The only subjects Chance was remotely decent at was Potions and Herbology. And Potions wasn't amazing either. "Well, Potions is something I have a natural talent at. Don't really love it though." Chance said shrugging. "What about you?"
Chance laughed at the memory of being pushed. His hands had gone to shield his head and he had practically fallen through the wall. It was the oddest sensation. His body was tensed up ready for impact, but yet there was none. "My neighbor. He apparently saw signs of me being a wizard at a young age and had kept an eye out for me. I thought of him as my second father since I never knew my father. But, anyways, he had taken me to the train station since my mom had to play it off like I was going to boarding school, since her husband thought it was nonsense when an owl flew through his window." Long story.
Unicorns? What? Chance had to ask. "What?"

With her homework finished for the evening Hadleigh choose to go exploring and she knew just what she wanted to find too. The Whomping Willow! Her father had told her stories about it all the time when she was smaller and now that she was here at Hogwarts she was going to find it.
How hard could it be really to find a moving tree?
Walking along the grounds for a few minutes, the sun shining down upon her Hady tucked a loose strand of hair back behind her ear as she squinted to see something in the distance. There up ahead! It was the tree! Smiling slightly to herself she continued closer until she was just a few feet away (a safe distance to not be harmed).
Stopping she lifted her head up and looked the tree over. If it had a mind of it's own did that mean it could communicate with her? Tilting her head slightly she kept an eye on the tree while also taking notice of the others around her as well.

Potions. Adi nodded. "I'm good at that too. It's my second favourite, actually.'' Pause. He was okay at other subjects but sort of rubbish at others. "I'm great at Muggle Studies too but I don't suppose that counts since I'm half blood. I hate Divination from since first year but last term it sort of grew on me. It's my third favourite but I'm not one bit good at it.'' How weird was that?
Adi laughed at an image of poor Chance sprawled on the Platform after he had been pushed through. "Didn't injure yourself, did you?'' Somehow he doubted it. The dude also seemed to have a complicated family story there. "You an only child?'' The Puffer was curious.
He laughed again in response to the Unicorns. "She loves them. This one guy insulted them back when we were coming in the carriage at the beginning of the term and she stomped his toes.'' Very passionate about unicorns was his AJ.

"Oh. You."
She mockingly echoed his words. The feeling was very much mutual though, so she sounded just as irritated and disappointed as him. She'd thought it might have been someone interesting. But alas, no, it was just the rude boy from the bookshop. Life wasn't fair. These things were sent to try her. But she was going to deal with this like an adult. Yep. Totes.
Her eyes dropped to the camera around his neck and for a moment she was genuinely curious. Was he an aspiring photographer? Was he any good? Would he take photos of her? Not that she voiced any of those questions. Maggie just looked back up, clearly confused, when he spoke next. "What?" As in...that strange tree over there?
The weird magic place. Oh. Wait. "Well, they reaaaaallly wanted me to come here so..."

Chance picked at the grass as the wind shifted his hair, and as always, a big grin was plastered on his lips. "Good! We have at least something in common!" Chance said to his comment about Potions. Now Divinations... was a different story. "Im not on the same page with you as Divinations though. Ugh. Divinations is a disaster in my head. Only a few people can actually do it! I feel like you ave to have the gift, and since only a few people do... What good does that do me?" Chance nodded and looked over at Adi.
"Injure myself? Pfft. Never!' Chance said but remembered skinning his knee on the concrete. His first injury on magic soil. But would he tell anyone that? Nope!
Unicorns. That's cute. "Well, Ill be sure never to say anything bad about unicorns in from of her." Chance said laughing. "That's cute." Chance sad in reference to Adi getting all googly eyed over her when he mentioned her.

There wasn't a particular reason why Kevin was making his way towards the Whomping Willow. He just wanted to walk around and think. There were a lot of confusing things going on and he need some fresh air to clear his mind. First, his Head of House had actually gotten through to him and his head hurt from thinking about his self judging. He knew he was right that he had to change, or at least transform his negative energy in to something positive but... he sighed. You know how difficult that was? He was just used to being rude and annoying. He sat down on the grass and looked at the tree in the distance. At least Culloden had agreed to help him out as well, something he honestly hadn't thought would happen, seeing as they didn't get along very well.
He leaned back and held his hands behind his head as he used them as a pillow. Things were good concidering that he was still a bit confused...and tired. Maybe he could take a short nap? So he closed his eyes.

Eden had gone for her daily run around grounds, and NOW she was all cleaned up, belly full, and ready to relax. And maybe think about doing homework, yes? Yes. She smiled as she felt cool, outside air brush against her cheeks--OH MY IT WAS UUUHHMAZING.
The brunette had a red velvet cupcake, the ones Jun had made her, and since she had a lot(and wasn't keen on sharing these), she was still making her way through them. She licked some of the icing off the top before biting into it--IT WAS SOOO GOOD. Like UGH. Why was food the most amazing thing--and she noticed the tree up above her..it was big. And it seemed to be swaying relaxedly right now. She heard that the tree moved..and even HIT people. What kind of school plants a student-hitting tree, eh? And people said DURMSTRANG was a dark school?! There were NO murderous trees there.
PLUNK.
Eden was not looking where she was going at all. Maybe she had tripped over a body.
A human body.
A boy.
But her half-eaten cupcake was now in the grass, and she had tripped over a BLOODY student and her cheeks were red and UGH UGH UGH. She was embarrassed. And her cupcake was ruined. Sadness all around! "Hey--I'm s-sorry! " she cried, and she blinked a lot and pulled her legs off of him as she got in a kneeling position to look for the cupppppycake....sad, dirty cupcake.

A small smile appeared on his face as he slowly drifted in to sleep. It was a habit he actually didn't know. When he was awake he would use a tough look and a smirk on his face but when he was falling asleep his expressions would change.
His smile vanished however when he felt a sharp pain on his side and the Gryffindor gasped. He rolled to his side , clutching it with his hands and turned his head to find who had kicked him.
.........A girl....... He glared at her but upon realising that she was still on him his cheeks blushed and he pushed her off. He sat upright on his knees as well and looked at her as she seemed to be searching for something. The boy looked around as well and spotted a half eaten cupcake nearby them. Was she looking for that?
Instead of giving the cake back to her, not that she would eat it ..she wouldn't right? ewww, Kevin reached for it and threw it further away.
"Watch where you're going next time!" he shot at her . Yeah, he was still working on the whole being nice thing.

Now WHERE was her cupcake? She then saw him THROW it--oh. Rude. Her features changed and she suddenly stood up, hands on her HIPS. "Um. EXCUSE me!" She cried, and she almost kicked dirt on him. But that would be WAY too mean, yeah? "That was RUDE. AND you're littering--" she went to go get the cupcake and put it back in the paper bag so that she could dispose of it PROPERLY.
She didn't realize the tree had begun to SWAY as she got closer, and she suddenly YELPED and ran away quickly, back by the BOY--and she tripped and fell on her butt, next to him. The Willow...was quiet again.
"Seems the tree doesn't like company EITHER--" she mumbled to herself, brushing herself off..

Her little anger fit was funny though cause her whole posture didn't seem threatening at all. He only had to stand up as well , get closer and glare at her. But again, he didn't do that. Sitting on the ground was much more comfortable but he did smirk at her.
"Whatever" he shrugged his shoulders as he watched her march off in the direction of where he had thrown the cupcake. He hadn't intentionally thrown it at the Whomping Willow so when he saw the tree sway at the older girl he looked shocked for a moment.
Yes he was rude, yes he pretended like nothing cared him but if someone got really hurt then that was not cool. He was about to tell her to watch out when she already ran back and tripped...again. "....You really are the accident prone type aren't you?" he chuckled. "And i thought Ravenclaws were supposed to be the smart onces...you just acted like a Gryffindor" the whole...running head first to the tree thing, yeah Gryffindor. And yes, he knew that she was a Ravenclaw because he had seen her a few times in classes......her super blue eyes were kinda hard to miss anyways.

"Oh.
Archie pretended to fiddle with his camera as she muttered his words back at him. Of all the many many people at Hogwarts, why did it have to be Rude Girl standing looking at the Whomping Willow when he wanted photos?
Sigh.
"Photos of me in front of the willow. They don't matter right now," he clarified. He wasn't going to hand his camera over to her any time soon. "I'll ask Silas when we go to feed the squid." Maybe they could even take one together? His mum would probably like to see he was settling in and making friends.
Maggie though. Well, Archie wasn't sure what she was. Not quiet an enemy. But definitely rude. And here. Why was that? He'd have been willing to bet his pocket money that she wouldn't be given her reaction back in Diagon Alley.
"Shouting and stropping and tantrums and ordering people about didn't have the desired effect then?"

"Do you ever stop smiling?'' Adi asked with a grin of his own. Smiley people were awesome! They brought this positive with them wherever they went. Adi wondered if that happened with him around too. "I'm quite sure I have not an ounce of the gift,'' he continued, now on his back and staring up at the clouds as they moved about at a snail's pace. "Those who have it are lucky.''
The Hufflepuff laughed. "Save by the magic in your blood, huh?'' Maybe Chance got injured, maybe he didn't. Who knew?
"Wise decision, my new Lion friend,'' Adi said. "You'd probably get worse than stomped toes.'' Hehe. Cute? "What's cute?'' he asked curiously.

Chance nodded. "Yes. Lucky. Sure." He said. He didnt really think so. Not really, the visions came at all differeent times and sometimes they werent so friendly. So no, Chance didnt think they were lucky.
Chance grin came back to his face. "Exactly! I knew I liked you. We gonna make great mates! We understand each other."

Vinnie made her way down to the grounds, she had no idea where to go or what to do. She just felt like going for a walk. Soon she'd be wrapped up in coat, hat and scarf because it would be so freezing. So now the brunette was enjoying walking around in just a college jacket. It was cozy and nice.
Even though the november air was quite fresh it didnt feel to bad on her skin. Especially not after what they had gotten used to last term. But in a few weeks there would be nooooo way to go out without your winter attire. The trees were swaying in the wind softly....
...wait....how had she gotten to the whomping willow?! Of course the girl had thought about going away more than once after Jun broke up with her, the risk of seeing him was too high. But not right now, she didnt even have anything on her.

Winter was quickly encroaching on the school and with it being Scotland the weather often turned quicker than expected. Layla had decided that she would go out into the grounds that morning to soak up the last of the autumn sun before it disappeared for good. It wasn’t warm but it certainly wasn’t freezing cold and so the fifteen-year-old had chosen to wear skinnies and a vest top with her burgundy leather jacket loosely shoved on over the top. She didn’t know what she would do once she got there but it was the sort of weather that was perfect for going for a jog.
And so she did, jogging at a leisurely pace along the pathway until she came to a halt at the whomping willow. She’d never liked the sound of the tree and had yet to approach it until today. The blonde glanced up at its branches and took the sight in. She thought it a little dangerous to have on the school grounds but apparently it was accepted by whoever came to assess these schools. She assumed Ofsted didn’t exist in the muggle world.
Her eyes formed a line down the trunk until she spotted someone stood near the tree, a safe enough distance away to not get thwomped one by its evil possessed branches. She approached her as a smile formed on the Blonde’s face. “You have the same idea as me?” she asked finally appearing by the Slytherin’s side. “This sunlight ain’t goin’ to last much longer..” Winter had never been her favourite season.

"Uh... yeah I got lost once when I was exploring the castle" he admitted sheepishly, grinning at AJ as he ran a hand through his brown curls.
Only once so far? "Your bound to get lost loads more time before the year is over." That wasn't a bad thing in her eyes though. That way you always ended up finding new things, or shortcuts toy our classes. It could be dead useful. Another lion that looked like her huh? "You must have met my sister. I'm a triplet actually. Angel, who is also a lion, shares the same face as me. Then there is Abby who is in the Ravenclaw house. She's not identical to us." No way, no shape, no how.
That smile the Leo just gave her said everything that AJ needed to know. He was down for some adventure, and this made her adrenaline shoot through the roof.
Good question little Leo. "I think if we both charge at it at the same time it will be confused." She may or may not have thought this through before. "You have to be alert though because all of the branches will hit you." In other words, don't go get all bloodied up on my watch.

What was the problem of having photos of himself? It wasn't like he was going to stare at them all day. Some of the best ones might make it on to his noticeboard though. "To show my family what I've been up to," he answered with a frown. "And to look back and remember the adventures I'm having." Wasn't that what photos were generally for? "Benjy told me all about the Whomping Willow, so here I am. He said he tried skipping with it once. I just want to get up close"
He should...stop talking. That was way more information than Rude Girl here should get. Especially when she had whinged at him that she didn't care.

Vinnie was standing in front of the whomping willow and watched it the branches move around. It was surprsing that no one had gotten beaten up them recently. One wrong move and you could be seriously injured. Thankfully the spot to sneak out was behind it and if you kept your distance it was rather safe. Well as safe as sneaking out could be. Maybe she should have brought some of her stuff with her. But where would she go?
Tightening her scarf around her neck the brunette shivered a little. Luckily it was just a short wind blowing by. That tree would create a storm one day....when she read about it in history books it had played a big role in happenings before, so it wasnt that unlikely.
She was just about to make her way further down the pathway as someone came to a halt next to her. Turning her head to see who it was a grin spread on her face.“If you were taking a walk then yes.“ What a nice coincidence, it always put a smile on her face when she saw Layla randomly. That girl just got her. "I am not really a big fan of winter,so i gotta enjoy whats left."

Chance's hand pulled at the grass blades. "I'll tell you what though. It's harder than it looks to make friends around here so I am glad that it was easy to make friends with you." Chance nodded and pulled some more blades out.
"And youre lucky you got a girlfriend! Im chasing after one but I just found out shes not supposed to date til shes 15. IF she will even give me a chance." Chance said shrugging. "Yes, i'm not Kyle" he said with a roll of his eyes. "Are you deaf?" and as for his real name being more cooler, Kevin narrowed his eyes suspiciously at her. "You think so?" he asked. She wasn't the first one to have said it. Maybe he should change it because Kevin WAS so normal sounding.
But before he could ask some more , the Ravenclaw with the soul of a Gryffindor had jumped up already. What was she? EH? SHE ACTUALLY WENT TO DO WHAT HE SAID?!
His mouth opened to stop her when she walked to the direction of the tree but no sound came out and then he closed it again. Yes it was dangerous but he also wanted to see what would happen. He leaned back on the grass again and smirked. "Come on! you can do it!" muwahahaha

Layla didn't really get why but she got along with Vinnie extremely well. Perhaps it was because the two girls shared similarities, they were from nearby areas and she wasn't annoying or overly posh or problematic like a lot of the students around here were. She was simply just normal and Layla craved a bit of normality in this school full of absolutely bonkers students.
The blonde couldn't help but reflect the brunettes smile as she noticed she was there. A lot of people probably thought she was grumpy because she was often straight-faced. Truth was her brother was frequently grumpy too, perhaps it was a family trait? Although Layla blamed it on company rather than anything else. She COULD smile, she just chose not to sometimes.
"You've got it worse than me" she contemplated looking out across the grounds quickly. "Can't imagine how rubbish it is bein' cooped up under the lake for the whole winter." At least she could see out of the Ravenclaw tower. In fact the view was pretty spectacular.
Her attention was drawn up at the creepy willow. "What's the deal with this tree then? Ain't it a bit dangerous to have at a school." Health and safety regulations and all that.

Eden just nodded--okay okay HE WASN'T KYLE. And yes. Kenji was cooler. "It is-" she called out as she began to APPROACH the tree. Okay. So her adrenaline was pumping away and she was SO close--and one of the branches came WHIZZING right at her head--and Eden WHOOOOSHES out of the way--she could feel the whiz of it go by. Wow....
She almost DIED.
But she wouldn't give up NOW!
With a glance back at Kyle Kenji Kevin, she waved once--quickly--and lunged forward, touching the trunk of the tree--the branches were all moving and swinging around. Eden was actually quite swift--from running every morning--but that didn't mean her heart wasn't pounding or that her brain wasn't screaming at her that she was being the DUMBEST ever right now. She tore a smaller branch that she could reach, and before she knew what she was doing----
WHAAAACK!!!
Eden felt the smack into her tummy area and fell flat on her bum, the wind completely knocked out of her. She blinked a few times, and, luckily, in her daze, noticed another branch rearing for attack--"AHH!" she screamed, and she hopped up, SO QUICK--and jetted for Kevin Kyle Kenji. She didn't even try to swerve out of the way--SHE JUST RAAAAAAAAN FOR HER LIIIIIIIIFE.
Next thing she knew, she had plopped down next to Kevin. She collapsed backward, eyes closed, panting, her chest moving up and down. "Here's your bloody branch-----" and she held out the branch to him.

Never had anyone believed anything that he had said. Not even Zeke when he told him to bow for him because he was a king. And that kid was a first year! So why was this older RavenDor following his instructions? Was it because she believed him or because she wanted to prove herself?
Whatever it was, it was entertaining.
He sat upright now to see better and was surprised that she was already at the tree. Kudos to her. And then a loud WHACK was heard followed by a loud scream. The Gryffindor froze and jumped up. Was she okay? It had looked like the tree had whacked her somewhere, why else would she have screamed?
A hint of worry washed over him but then he had to hold his laugh when she began running towards him like her life depended on it. What? It was a funny sight. Watching her collapse on the ground near his feet, Kevin looked down and grabbed the branch from her hand.
………”I can’t believe you just did that!” he said as he continued to stand. “You’re a bloody IDIOT!” He frowned now and threw the branch away before turning to the Ravenclaw.
…..”Are you hurt?” he muttered annoyingly.

Eden tried to catch her breath, still, when he called her an IDIOT. She sat up really quickly and GLARED at him. "I am NOT! You told me to do it!" okay, okay, she couldn't really blame HIM for her actions, but STILL. "Plus--I had to prove I was a true lion at HEART!" she said, annoyed, and she stuck her tongue out and blew a RASPBERRY at him.
Was she hurt?!
Eden watched him throw the stick and she growled. "Ugh--I wanted to KEEP that--I worked hard to get it--why do you have to THROW things?" she asked, and she patted her stomach. "I'm FINE." Hmph.
He didn't need to know that her tummy was still HURTING but that was okay. She knew it would go away. Eventually. "So--you were making it up--new lions DON'T have to do that?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. Ugh. "That's mean." She said bluntly. "Why would you do that....Kyle?" she asked purposely getting his name WRONG to get him BACK for her near DEATH.

Kevin just rolled his eyes. "You can't prove that!" that she was actually a lion heart. "I think everyone has a bit of all the houses in them but you're in Ravenclaw and you should be proud to be one" seriously, although Kevin didn't get along with nearly everyone and he only had one friend in his House, he was still proud to be part of it. So why wasn't she? Not that he cared though...
She did not just...blew a raspberry at him!? She did. Kevin frowned , trying his hardest not to laugh and keep his glare back at her. Then she growled. He had never heard a girl growl before when she was angry.
He turned his head to look in the direction he had thrown the stick before shrugging his shoulders. "So? go summon it if you want it back" It wasn't that difficult. "And why i throw things?" he grinned, got a liiiiiiitle closer to her and whispered. "Because i can" mwuahahaha.
She was fine? Okay then. And he didn't pay attention to her to see if she was hurt or not.
Shifting his body so that he sat indian style now, the Gryffindor chuckled at her next words. So she finally found it it had all been a lie? Took her long enough. "Well, in my defence i hadn't expected you to believe me, i mean , no one ever listens to me..." except for Zander...and Flailsteed he supposed. "So i wanted to know what happened after you ran to the tree and....." he stopped his sentence. Blinked. And then narrowed his eyes dangerously.

Just look at this enormous tree! LOOKATIT. Cool.
Hugo was in awe at the sight of the famous Whomping Willow. Old tree but still breaking bones. Of course the eleven year old kept distance from it, even though he was very curious. But nope, he did not wanted to go to the hospital wing. Yet.
Instead the boy sat down on the grass, eyes locked on the tree and watched how it moved. Sometimes he felt like a muggle, so easily amused by every little detail about Hogwarts. But he was half and half so he had the right to feel like that. Or so he thought. After a while of staring at the tree, he laid on the grass and closed his eyes. He had homework to do but didn't care about it at the moment.

There was a BOY who was laying DOWN with his eyes closed not too far from the willow. The only logical explanation was that he was dead, yes? That's the conclusion Maddie had come to as she approached the kid, wand out JUST in case. She'd never seen a dead body before.

Hugo took a deep breath, feeling the wind on his face and slowly falling asleep. It would have been nice to take a nap but no, someone else had a different plan. The boy felt a poke on his arm but believed he was in a dream and paid no attention whatsoever. But then came two more which woke him up.
With a frown, he opened his eyes and looked at a girl with a wand in her hand. He was confused. And annoyed. "Do you need something?" as in 'why are you interrupting my sleep?' It didn't surprised him that was a girl who did it because, you know, girls are weird.

He spoke. "You're not dead." Disappointment was probably evident in her tone and expression. She'd met live boys before. Plenty. She didn't really NEED to meet anymore of THOSE. Still, she stayed where she was.
"I thought the willow had whomped you." If he walked closer to it, it might. She'd watch and see how much damage it managed to do before it threw him back. She was curious. Maybe she'd measure the distance. Maybe she needed a Gryffindor for that.

What? "You don't say" why would he be dead on the first place? Hugo sat up straight, keeping a distance from this girl. Did you just heard her tone? Really. "Well...GLADLY, it didn't" for some reason he felt scared.
Was she crazy? In fact, EVERY girl was, but others were more and she looked like one. Based on this conversation of course. "I would have bruises if that would have happened" obviously. Who was he? No. Hugo squinted his eyes "Who are you?" besides the girl who thinks that people that lays down on the grass is dead.

Sassy, this one. Maddie smirked. She enjoyed the first years, especially the ones with some spunk. More interesting, they were.
"Maybe not visible bruises. You ARE clothed, after all." So perhaps all the damage would've been out of sight, JUST saying. "Maddie Cooper. Do you have something wrong with your eyesight?" He was squinting, after all. Perhaps he HAD been hit and was suffering from a concussion.
The second year got down on the ground and crossed her legs, eyes on the tree. She wished she had her camera from Charms on her so she could capture it. Maybe she could've sent it to Mo. Maybe.

Eden thought that what he had to say was...curious. And weirdly, she liked it and thought it made a lot of sense. "Well..you're right." She said softly. She hugged her knees to her chest and smiled at you. "Thank you." She was being genuine right now. "I..yeah. I need to start being proud of myself, yeah." And she WAS trying, she was just bloody awful at it.
He got BROWS for that though. "I can't do magic very well." She said with more BROWS at him. "So. Yeah." She would have shot him another raspberry...had she not wanted to plaster him with her spit and have him hate her for forever. She didn't need someone to hate her...that would be AWFUL.
Because he could. He was a cheeky little thing. She raised an eyebrow. "If everyone did things just because they would we'd live in a bad place." She told him, rather sternly, too. "Why are you mean? Have you had a bad childhood?" she asked, in all seriousness. Because...yeah. "Not that you're meanest person ever--" she'd met worst...but STILL. Maybe she was being a BIT blunt, but Eden was usually a very candid person...mhmm.
"Well I'm rather gullible. As you can now SEE." She said, rolling her eyes and then....HA. Eden snorted. "You're bluffing. You won't hex me." She didn't believe that for one MINUTE. He would get a detention or SOMETHING. Not that Eden would tell. She wasn't a tattle. But he didn't need to know that...

Hugo nodded slowly. Yeah, suuure, whatever you say girl. "But blood would have been visible" he pointed out. Let's just keep distance from the tree. "No, my eyesight is fine. It's just that...you are weird" he told Maddie. Her name was perfectly normal though. "I'm Hugo" he answered her previous question.
"Have you seen someone getting hit by the willow?" because she looked like she wanted to. "Or have you got any closer to it?" not that he wanted to. Probably she was going to push him and he wasn't taking that risk. She was small like him, maybe a little taller JUST A BIT "Are you a first year too?"

Not necessarily. The damage could've been on the INSIDE but Maddie didn't say this. It was already very clear that the boy-Hugo, apparently-hadn't been damaged by the tree. "Weird is better than ordinary," She offered with a shrug. Weird stood out and got people to take notice. Maddie was okay with weird.
"Not YET, Hugo." But probably someday. The probability was high, especially given that some of the kids here seemed to have a death wish. "Have you?" Might as well ask since they were already on the subject, yeah? "I'm not eager to get hit with a branch but I am curious about the knot that's supposedly at the base of the tree." She'd read ALL about that.
"I'm a second year." A WOMAN. Wasn't that OBVIOUS? "What house are you in?"

Samantha was very nervous about taking a photo of The Whomping Willow but she knew this was an opportunity that she couldn't pass up. She made sure that she saw far enough to not endanger her life or to cause any damage to her camera but she was not too far that she couldn't take a decent photo.
Samantha raised the camera to her face and waited for a moment. A few seconds later, Samantha had taken a photo. When she looked at the photo, it showed an immobile Whomping Willow but when she tapped the centre of the photo and said, "Alacer," it showed the true nature of the tree. The willow was now swaying its branches in the slight breeze.
The second he'd read the charms homework notice, he KNEWWWW he wanted to take a picture of the Willow. It made PERFECT sense. The tree moved, and they had to make the pictures move. There would be no point in taking a photo of his breakfast - not unless said breakfast was still alive. The Whomping Willow was the obvious choice for a photo.
It also gave him an excuse to go out and get some fresh air, which is something he could appreciate.
Once he'd approached it as close as he dared to, Zeke stopped in his tracks and dropped the bag from his shoulder. It took him only a moment to retrieve the camera he had stowed away in one of the pockets. Safe and sound. But now came the most fundamental part of the task - or at least, the second most. Ahem.
Zeke shifted from the left, to the right, and back to the left again. A couple of paces forward... a few paces back. The camera held up in front of him, and his gaze through the window trying to focus the frame perfectly around the Willow. He wanted to have all of it in view, because it was EPIC. Once he was sure the shot was as picture perfect as it could be, he clicked the capture button and removed the photo paper it expelled.
Yep... it was a good shot. And once it was animated, Professor Fuller would be impressed... surely. SURELY.
The only thing he needed to do now, was actually animate it.
Zeke flopped himself onto the grass beside his bag, a safe distance from the tree, and took his wand from his pocket. He remembered the incantation, or at least, he thought he did...
"Alcer!" he stated confidently, tapping the photo with his wand.
.... unsuccessfully.
"Alalcer!".........
.. nothing.
No, he had it right the first time, he was sure of it!
"Alcer," he repeated, tapping the photo again. This time, there was an impact... just, not the one he had anticipated. The film burst into flames, he could feel it on his fingers before he released it to fall to the grass in ashes.
...
Boo. Now he had to start ALL OVER AGAINNNN...
Not wasting any time, he took up his camera again, wand pocketed for the moment, and he took his position again. Tree in frame. Waving it's branches. CLICCCKKK.
"This time you'll work," he informed the film paper as he sat back down. Quickly though, he pulled out his notes from class, and upon consulting them he realised his error. Grinning, Zeke shook his head before taking out his wand again.
"Alacer," he recited clearly, tapping the photo paper. This time, he completed the task successfully. Huzzah!
One down. Four to go!

He needed to think. Think and breathe and just ugh. How is it that this time last term, he was having an AMAZING time. But then just a year later everything had changed so quickly? How come things could fall so far and in such a miserable direction?
The Gryffindor watched as a small unsuspecting bird few nearer to the tree. Poor thing, if it decided to go any further the tree could smash it. Just like Zander's-- NO. NO. NO. Not thinking about that. (Maybe a little thinking about that). No. Can't think about that. (Always thinking at least a little about that). No.
Every time he came outside he thought about it. Every single time. It didn't help that new Herbology guy yelled at him. To man up. To get over himself. To have better priorities.
That's it. This Gryffindor was never going to think ever again. Instead, he'd just sit in the grass and not think. Pft. Fullproof. He could totally just not think. Yeah. See not thinking. Not thinking. Not thinking. GAH THINKING stop thinking.

The Whomping Willow was a GREAT place to be. Look at the tree whacking things out of its way and showing everyone who's boss. Freaking brilliant.
And that was exactly why Grayson was here. Besides, who really wanted to be studying for exams at a time like this? The exams were aaaaaaaaages away, according to him. However, his mum didn't seem to think so and her constant nagging voice was weighing down in his head. It sucked. Having a teacher as a parent full on--
ZANDER? Was that--
SQUINT.
Zander! Oh good! He'd provide GOOD company, Whitty was sure of it. But as the fifth year headed closer and closer towards the Gryffindor, he couldn't help but feel as if something was wrong. Was it his face? Was the dude usually smiling or what? And why was he staring at...... Grayson followed his gaze only to find himself looking at the tree and a BIRD? Er. There was that weird feeling again. Concern. Niceness. It was WEIRD.
"Swear to Merlin, you look like someone just told you that you're gonna have to cook for yourself while at Hogwarts," he said, once he had neared the boy. Unless he was THAT sad about a freaking bird. "You okay, man?" Genuine concern here.

Ian walked out onto the grounds on a beautiful fall day. The sun was out, only impeded by a few clouds. There were shadows crossing the ground and he thought the whomping willow would be a great thing to take a moving photograph of.
He walked to where he thought he couldn't get 'whomped' and yet still get a good photo. He looked at the tree as he took the camera from charms out of his satchel. It was hard to tell what the photo would look like and he hoped to get the tree in mid-whomp. How to make that happen though? He didn't want to risk getting smashed by running up and tapping the tree. Plus he wanted to see the tree go from full height to full whomping in one photo. He wished, he had a tripod. That would help. Maybe he'd go back and ask for one. He sat there and pondered how to make the tree move.

Maddie had a point. Hugo shrugged and continued on with the conversation. "Me neither but what about that branch you just mentioned? What does it do?" the boy asked curiously. After all he was a firstie and had no idea of Hogwarts' secrets. YET.
Oh. Second year. Well she wasn't that....old? "Just a year older" he said for no reason. "I'm in Slytherin!" Hugo said proudly. MHM yes, S L Y T H E R I N. "Best house" obviously. "What about you?" surely she wasn't in his house because he would remember her face.

Kace decided to do the charms homework and got his camera with him. He was planning to take some photos. He needed to take cool pictures because they were gonna move with the spell he was gonna use. He was trying to find a photo and thought why not take a picture of the tree!? He stood a few steps back to get a good view in his view finder. He hit the button and he took the picture! He smiled and saw it develop.
Now onto using the charm he learned in class. He checked his notebook and noticed the charm was "Alacer." He tried to pronounce and said, "Alacer...Alacer....Alacer....Alacer..." he kept saying it. Then he put his photo on his notebook so it wouldn't get ruined. He tapped it on his photo and said, Alacer!" and then he saw the photo moving! He saw the whomping willow thrashing it's branches around.

Puck already had a photograph of the couples…and now she just was walking, walking, and waaaaalking for a while. Really, it was kind of nice to feel the cool air on her skin, and to see the way the December light flitting across the trees and the grounds in general. Her brother was right, Hogwarts was a beautiful school.
Maybe she needed to start running more again, and hey in the summer she could rest under the tree right? She thought until she noticed the branches were moving. Now that was cool.
It had to be the fabled tree that she had heard about when she read her books…okay she read but not all the time. Taking out her camera she pressed down the lens release and heard the familiar click of her lens shuddering closed.
“Alacer” she cast and watched as the branches on the photo paper began to move around. PERFECT. She glanced around the tree and looked at the other things around it, sure she had heard about the fabled tree and glanced around...hey, it was Kace. He was facing away from her but she saw him.
Sneaksneaksneaksneaaaaking.... moooore sneaaaaking.
She was nearly there.
"KACE!" she excitedly yelled and waved at him...of course she was being careful no one was going to get knocked over by one of these tree branches.

”Kace! Has anyone ever called you Kacey Kacem…or KECIUM or or Kacey KEY” she was listing all the KACEthings she could think of at that instant…while she rambled she lifted her camera up.
”Strike a pose Kace!” she griiiiiiined at her friend as she clicked down on the release of her camera. There. She was getting photos of her friends now…not just strangers.
And when it was finally on the paper she quickly tapped her photopaper and cast a silent Alacer. She had a Kace for life now! YAY! Her own personal Kace...that she was probably going to give to Emmylou because, really, it was a cute photo.

Making her way towards the Whomping Willow, Lux thought to herself that the tree was such a big staple to Hogwarts, so how could she NOT take a picture of it. The snow all over the ground and branches of the old tree made the view even more beautiful. This was the kind of winter that she liked; where she didn't feel as if she'd turn into an ice cube at any moment.
Getting as close to the giant tree as she dared without exciting its branches, Lux took her camera out of her bag and tried to get the positioning just right. Maybe she wasn't a professional photographer, but it was important to her that these turn out nicely for Professor Fuller. Once she was satisfied, she snapped a picture and watched as it fell from the camera, catching it before it could land in the snow.
It looked so PRETTY. Winter landscapes were always so beautiful.
Tempted to take another photo of the tree, she decided not to because it would be better to vary things a little. So instead she tapped the picture in the center with her wand while saying, "Alacer." Time for her to head over to the lake.

Nope, still not thinking. What was he doing? Not. That's what. Just not thinking at all. Why think about all the things that were going horribly wrong in his life when he could just stare really hard and not think? Except, truth be told, he really was thinking about all of it. Just trying to not think was making him think even MORE. It was impossible. So completely and utterly--
Grayson?
Oh. So could Grayson tell that he was thinking about it? Because really he was trying not too. But thinking about everything was just his second nature. He couldn't help it. Was he okay though?? No. He was absolutely and utterly hopeless. Everything had gone wrong so far. This wasn't how the term was supposed to go. Beautiful Bentley was supposed to be here and that dumb mean Professor wasn't and he wasn't supposed to be a disgrace to his house and really nothing was okay. "Yeah, I-uh... I'm fine." He gave the older boy the bestest most fakest smile he could muster. See, totally fine?
Except not.
He just needed to stop thinking about her. To.... *GULP* move on. He didn't say anything for a few seconds because he was deep in thought again. Deep in thought about the last time he was on the grounds last term. He was telling Lux about this and she said... Well, she said that he needed to fall in love with someone else. And then Sophie Brown said that love was hard. And then dumb Professor Grumpy Pants said that he needed to get over himself. And now he was being sad in front of role model, Grayson. AND WAIT A MINUTE-- "Wait, no.. Actually, uh, Grayson, do you think you could--" Maybe everyone was right. Maybe he DID need to fall in love with another girl. But that also meant he had to get another girl to fall in love with him. And he was standing in front of Grayson Whitlock and--
"I mean, you're really good at-uh-well- making girls fall in love with you, right?" He saw the way the girls ogled at the sixth year. We see you Sophie Newell and Ruby Whats-her-face.

Ian looked around, trying with all he could to figure out how to make the willow whomp.
He saw something and it drew his eye. He reached over and picked up an ordinary rock, about half the size of his palm, but perhaps it was large enough. He switched his camera to the left hand and with his right, he heaved the rock toward the tree. He didn't aim to hit the tree, just get it's attention. Ian watched as the rock got very close to the tree. He feared he'd aimed poorly and struck it. Gratefully, he watched it sail past. Would the tree react he wondered.

Angel was totally enjoying herself and had decided to drag Benny towards the Whomping Willow. "This was were I first realised how good you were, do you remember what happened?" Angel smiled at Benny. "It was near the beginning of the last term." Angel totally had no idea If Benny would remember but from that day she had fallen in love with him and bringing him back here made her want too.
Without thinking she gave Benny a kiss on the lips. "I'm glad we are working together." Angel smiled as she then decided she had best do the homework she took a picture of the Whomping Willow Tree.

Now maybe Benny shouldn't have taken Angel's hand for the girlfriend of his decided to turn around and use the clamped hands to pull him off outside all the way to the Whomping Willow. Okay, so maybe not all the way seeing as after awhile he did give in and just move with her but it was a good thing he had a long-legged stride to keep up. Finally they had stopped, the bouncing camera coming to a rest against him once more, and the fourth year listened to what she had to say.
"Yeah..." he said with a nod. Not necessarily a good time, what with Adi getting all mad and Angel running away upset. But they had gotten through it and given the convo with his bestie at the stables earlier in the term, it likely wouldn't happen again. Angel leaned in to kiss him and he allowed it. "It is good." Another click but it was clear it hadn't been of him which was a relief.
"How about one with you..." he said taking a shot her her posing in front of the Whomping WIllow.

So Eden had taken ONE picture. Now she needed another. Outside was a good place because lots of things MOVED around out here. And she needed a picture to MOVE, right? She had the first picture tucked in her notebook--she pulled out the camera and plopped down on the ground, on a patch of grass faaaaar from the murderous tree.
Her memories of almost getting KILLLED because of KEVIN still rang in her head. She got out her wand, her notebook--OKAY READY. She rolled onto her tummy and aimed the lens at the tree. It was still, right now, but she was hoping if she took a picture the tree would move. How COOL would that be, eh? There were random students scattered around, too, so she would get all of THEIR movements, too.
"Alacer." She said to herself, and she was pretty sure she had to the spell DOWN. Ahem. She lifted up the camera and looked through the lens...3...2...1--she pressed the button, and clicked away, taking two pictures back-to-back.
The Ravenclaw then set them down on the grass and waited for them to show up, but whiiiiiiile she waited--she took out some spicy gum(red pepper flavored) and popped it into her mouth. It was just kinda' cold, yeah? She wrapped her scarf more tightly around her neck but continued on. Outside was outside, and she didn't mind the blistering cold--nope. It was better than the stuffy castle, in her opinion.
Looking down at the two pictures, she waved her wand, and said, calmly, "Alacer!" and TADAAAA. The picture was MOVING. Eden beamed aaaalllllll happily at her pure TALENTS and ran a hand through her hair. Hehe. This was FUN. Now...time to find some other spots...

Angel smiled at Ben, until she saw him taking a step back and she looked a bit concerned. "You oka...." Angel started to say and then realised why he had taken the step back and she decided to do the same by going and standing next to him. "This looks great." Angel beamed as she looked at her photo.
"Alacer!" Angel tapped her photo with her wand and smiled as she watched it start to move. "Look at that it looks so like the Whomping Willow." Angel giggled as she stared at the photo. "You can take us to our next destination Ben."

Take pictures, they said. It'll be easy, they said.
This was HARD. Jeez, how long had he been wandering around the place in an attempt to find something worthy to take a picture of? Too freaking long. And he'd tried to take pictures of some animals -- birds or whatever -- but once they knew what he was doing, they seemed too eager to get away for his liking. And that then meant that he had blurry shots of furry creatures. That wasn't what he wanted.
Yeah, so he was here. Trying to take pictures of this giant tree that had a violent tendency. Grayson held up his camera, peeping through the eyehole at the tree before him. It was swishing around in the breeze, so he had to wait a while for it to stop doing that. And then a BIRD came out of nowhere and settled down on one of the branches. Swear to Merlin, this was more suspenseful than it should be. The tree froze, giving the boy his cue.
CLICK!
YES!
He didn't care WHAT the tree did next -- it was violently thrashing its branches at the bird to make it get away -- because he had his picture! Grabbing the picture, he set his camera down on the grass before pulling out his wand. "Alacer!" TAP! There. A moving picture to add to his very small collection. And look, it even included the bird in there. GOOD. Artistic points could be a thing.
Picking up his camera, he held onto the picture tightly and got out of there.

Thankfully Angel followed suit and moved further away from the Whomping Willow after he did. The tree was surely moving. Maybe it didn't like its picture taken either. Whatever the cause they were likely to be moving on anyway. They still had a few more pictures to take. "It does," Benny agreed with a small smile, the real Angel admiring the photo-Angel. Now to make them both move.
Sticking the solo one in his pocket for safe keeping, the fourth year lion focused on the duo. "Alacer!" he cast, touching his wand tip to the center of the photo. At first it didn't seem to work until he looked close and it was almost in slow motion. "Alacer!" he cast again for good measure to try and fix and this time it worked better.
Stash that one away, Ben switched to the Whomping Willow's photo-portrait. "Alacer!" he cast, the reaction this time crystal clear. Enough to make another unconscious step back. "Yeah, they do," he agreed as he glanced between both their pictures. Very life like indeed.
"Hmm...I think I have an idea," he said as he moved to take the lead across the grounds this time.

Jasmine had the bright ideal to take a picture of the Whomping Willow. Apparantly she was not the only one with this idea because she saw some students leaving the area just as she arrived. Hoping she could get the shot that she was looking for, Jasmine carefully chose what she thought was the perfect spot.
Setting her things down, Jasmine took her camera and tried to set up the shot. The tree was looking awfully still so far and she hoped that she hadn't missed its movements for the day. Having her camera ready, she watched and waited......and waited. This was going to be a test of her patience. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, Jasmine tried to think of ways to get the tree to move........without suffering any bodily harm of course.
Knowing that the willow was protective of its personal space, she walked a little closer. Nothing. She dared not walk any closer lest she enter the range of its swinging branches. Just when she was about to give up, Jasmine had an idea. She turned the flash on and took a picture using it. And it seemed that the tree did not like the bright light because it began to thrash. Click. Jasmine got her picture. She waited for the picture to eject from the camera. Then she tapped it with her wand and said, "Alacer". The picture began to move and so did the tree's branches. Perfect. Three pictures down, two to go.

"The KNOT?" The knot on the tree? "If you find it and press it, I heard that the tree will stop thrashing around." Which was interesting for all kinds of reasons. "You haven't seen one, have you?" She doubted he'd gotten close enough to see much of ANYTHING on the tree. Disappointing, mostly.
"And probably wiser." Maddie smirked, just stating facts. Also, she wasn't impressed with his house even if she WAS intrigued by many of the members of said house. Her expression remained impassive as she stated, "M'in Ravenclaw." PAUSE. "I quite like it."
"So tell me, s'it true you can see the black lake from in your common room?" Brows were raised.

The willow was seemingly one of the greatest subjects for taking a photograph of. It moved for a start. And it wasn’t a boring human. She could easily charm a piece of photography to accurately portray its movements.
Arriving there fairly promptly because she wanted to get this activity over and done with, Layla grabbed her camera out of her bag and glanced up at the imposing branches. She assessed the angle deciding that the sunlight shining through the leaves as it made its decent down the sky looked kinda pretty and it might have been something that she would quite like to put up in her room. Maybe. If it wasn’t for her muggle friends.
She snapped the photo and then sat down on the floor to prepare it for the spell. Once it had printed she placed it directly in front of her where she could see it and withdrew her wand. She tapped it once on the photograph. “Alacer” she spoke simultaneously to the movement as she watched the branches on the tree in the photograph start to sway. She smiled satisfied.
Her stuff was dumped back into her bag which she practically threw over her shoulder before she ran off to finish the task elsewhere. The quicker the better.

Caleb was starting to get the hang of this spell, which was good. Not that Caleb would ever really use it...he wasn't much of a photographer. But good for homework, of course!
He got his camera out and pointed it at the Whomping Willow. It was, of course, the obvious subject for his next picture. It would make for a perfect animated pic!
Once the photo was ready, he sat down cross legged on the ground and took out his wand. He tapped the photo and yelled "Alacer!" then watched with delight as the Whomping Willow in the picture started to move in time with the real one in front of him. Cool!

Beverly didn't believe in what people said about pets resembling their owners in one way or another. It baffled her, but now that she owned Chomper, she was beginning to believe it may be somewhat truth. Especially when the little critter had bounced off the tree house ladder and ran down the grounds. Thank Merlin Beverly was a fast runner, it was also all thanks to those extra curricular activities her dad put her through.
Chasing after Chomper she had not realized what territory they had crossed, not until the hairs at the back of her neck stood on end. That wasn't the most of pleasant feelings. And Kennedy has told her to ALWAYS listen to that reaction because more often than not, it meant something was up.
Stopping on her tracks, Beverly blinked up at the large tree. The Whomping Willow. She gulped. While she liked to think of herself as fearless, she wasn't stupid. Leave that to the Gryffindors.
"Chomp--"
OH CRUD.
The sugar glider stood just right under the tree. Maybe he was too small for the tree to notice. Wrong. The branches swirled up ahead preparing to barrel down on her little monster. A strange instinct took over her and she dropped bag on the floor and RAN toward Chomper, camera hung around her neck, bouncing against her chest.
"Immobulus!" The branch that was headed toward Chomper froze. It seemed to be enough to alert him and he ran for the hills.
Not the hills exactly, but towards Beverly. With major relief she let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. Chomper was out of line of danger, but the Whomping Willow was mad. It brought its branches down on the grass as if challenging them. This was not a challenge Beverly was willing to accept. BUT it did make a cute picture as Chomper stood a few feet away from the Willow, watching as it stomped down at on nothing. Almost as if he were saying, 'HAHA! YOU DIDN'T GET ME!'
That was worth a millions words. Shaking her hands and adrenaline off, she lifted the camera clicked for the picture, then withdrew her wand. "Alacer!" She tapped the middle of the photo, but nothing happened. BAH. Her mind went all wired after what happened. She needed to chill. Take a chill pill, Wayne. Do it. Breathing deeply, she tapped the photo again. "Alacer!" THERE.
Picture come to life of a tiny sugar glider taunting the Whomping Willow.

In the chilly winter air the whomping willow didn't look so different from the rest of the landscape. Black, gray and white. It's trunk and leaves evidence of no recent attacks being defended on it's person. Cutty looked up at it and thought it might make for a good still life that wasn't.
A light snow was still falling as he snapped and reached around to grab the photopaper. "Alacer." Tap. It was beautiful, actually. Almost like a nature guide.

Well, see mostly because he a certain someone had said that the only way to *gulp* move on was to like someone else. And well fake it till you make it, right? Hadn't his brothers said that at one point? Or maybe it was in a movie. Whatever it was, Zander believed it. "Well.... I was just wondering if you could, uh, you know..." And cue the slight pink flush. It was embarrassing, okay!!! "Teach me how?" and as he said this he took particular interest in the pebbles by his feet. Yup. Mhm.
But really though, he needed help. This was not Zander's area of expertise. He needed lessons. A Professor Grayson, if you will.

The knot. "That's cool!" he was more intrigued now "And no, I haven't seen it. Have you? We could search it" though he didn't wanted to get hit by one of the branches. Not fan of the idea but Maddie seemed to know too much about the tree so maybe she could know how to avoid it.
Hugo raised an eyebrow. Wiser? "Idoubtit" he murmured and slightly coughed. Soo...she was a Ravenclaw. That explained why she was a know-it-all. Or seemed like one. Then, Maddie a made a question. "Yeah, that's why it's kinda dark. It gets cold sometimes but you can see some of the creatures from the lake" Hugo told and took out from his pocket a bag of sour gummy worms. "How's your common room?" he knew where the Gryffindor common room was but had no clue about Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw's.

"I haven't," The second year admitted, disappointment evident in her tone. Knowing where the knot was would be helpful for reasons and she was determined to locate it, as long as she wasn't going to get hit by a branch in the process. "I was hoping to hire a first year to scope it out for me. Preferably a Gryffindor." They seemed to be the ones with death wishes, yes? "Do you KNOW any first year Gryffindors?"
The second year smirked, amused that this boy thought he was wiser than she was. She had a whole BUNCH more living experience, didn't he KNOW? She'd let it go though, given he had information she was actually interested in. "Lake creatures, huh? Have you see the giant SQUID, then?" Maddie asked casually but she was itching to see the squid, a dream since her first term here. Slytherins seemed like the most likely to have seen it in THIS weather.
"We've got the best view of all the common rooms." At least Maddie thought so. "Bit too far from the food, though. S'my only complaint."

Kace decided it was time to take a visit to the famous violent tree. He just needed to get out of the castle and get some fresh air plus he wanted to hang out with Cinna for a bit. He kind of wanted to know what the deal was with Zander. He just acted strange when he was in the greenhouses. As he made his way to the tree he noticed not a lot of people were here. He grinned to himself and felt that was perfect. He had his skateboard in his backpack to use just incase. He owled Cinna to meet him here so he would wait.
He got out his drawing book and it seemed to be almost filled. He needed to get a new one soon. He began to edit some of his doodles while waiting.

Ariel had noticed a piece of paper which had mentioned something about finding Snow White whoever or whatever that was. Since this was her castle as much as Prince Eric's she felt that it was important that she try. Besides, this was an adventure!
Holding a mirror, Ariel made her way along the grass outside her castle. This task was rather difficult since she didn't know what she was looking for exactly but something told her that there was great importance to the mirror - that she needed to do something with it. But when she looked in the glass all she could see was her reflection.
Not looking where she was going, Ariel was startled to hear a WHOOSHing sound. Dropping the mirror, she saw something big moving towards her. Picking her mirror up, she backed away slightly and saw that it was another one of those big things that grew out of the ground, but this one had no green on top and it was moving around.

Cinna was surprised when she had gotten an owl from Kace. He was waiting to go hangout. Whichwas great. Kace was like a big brother. Both of her besties boyfriends were like her big brothers. Bay included. She missed him about as much as Lux did.
Anyway she found that Kace wanting to meet her around the whooping willow an interesting place to want to meet her. She got ready and headed down to the whooping willow.
She spotted the older Hufflepuff and headed over to him. She flopped down on the ground beside him. Mmmm she didn't know that he did drawings too. "Hey, Kace." She smiled at her friend. "Whatcha doing?"

"Oooh nothing just editing my doodles.." he said putting his book away since she was here. "I was just bored around the castle and wanted to look for something fun to do.." he told her honestly. "Usually you have the best ideas.." he told her. "But maybe we can have some outdoor adventures today on this gorgeous day.." he gestured towards the weather. "I was thinking rolling down the hill but that seems to childish don't you think?" he asked for her opinion.

Mmmm what did Mr. Kace want to do today? She watched him doodle in his sketch pad. She didn't no why she asked him what he was doing she knew what he was doing. But he could have been doing something else. She nodded at his answer.
Oh did she have the best ideas? She wasn't so sure about that really. She really didn't know what to say about that. "Thanks. Mmmm I guess I just make fun things happen." She grinned sheepishly at him.
Did that sound childish? Yes. But did she care? Nope. She grinned at him again. "Race, ya!" She sat back on her back and started rolling down the hill. Haha she was totally getting a good head start on him.

Kace nodded and agreed. "You do make fun things happen. I mean we always have fun times because we think alike. Remember that." he winked and laughed. As he mentioned his rolling down the hill idea, he saw Cinna's eyes light up and she seemed to like the idea. He was happy but then she was cheating and she got up and ran to the hill.
He immediately pushed himself from the ground and yelled, "HEY NO FAIR!!" and ran after her. He plopped onto the ground rather harshly and began rolling rolling down the hill.....
Woaahhhhh
He was getting really dizzy. He called out the Cinna and yelled, "I CAN'T STOP!" he laughed so hard and was still rolling. He didn't realized how steep this hill was. As he finally slowed down, he just laid there heavily breathing and felt so alive.

Hehe she was just a tiny ball of fun and she knew it. Kace didn't need to remind her of it. She knew. She grinned at him "Of course I'm fun. We're fun." Hehe. And this ten second wad what was making this so much fun. Roll roll roll down the hill. Weeeeee this was fun.
She really a had gotten her speed up half way down the hill. She didn't stop rolling until she fully stopped. She was so dizzy. Hearing Kace yell that he couldnt stop she decided that she should get out of the way. When she got up the stumbled from still being dizzy. She tripped and fell flat of her back all she could do was giggle at this point. “LET'S DO THAT AGAIN!!"
