The official home of the Lions, the Gryffindor common room, is found on the seventh floor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The entrance to the common room is the portrait of the delightful Fat Lady (http://www.snitchseeker.com/seventh-floor-and-towers/the-fat-ladys-portrait-98526/). In order to gain entrance to your home away from home, Lions must know the password and speak it to her - assuming she isn't forcing you to listen to her sing of key that is.
This term's password is 'Tribble Troubles'.
Be sure to remember those words. Keep them secret, keep them safe. Without them the Fat Lady won't swing away from the hole and allow you to enter Gryffindor Tower and you'll be stuck picking your nose while waiting for a housemate to let you in. Once you're lucky enough to scramble through, you'll find yourself in the central common room (a perfectly circular area full of squashy armchairs, fluffy beanbag chairs, and tables, now referred to as the 'Lions' Den'. The large circular space has two adjacent rooms, the reading room (http://www.snitchseeker.com/gryffindor-common-room/reading-room-98568/) and the game lounge (http://www.snitchseeker.com/gryffindor-common-room/game-lounge-98569/), equipped with the resources and materials required to complete any homework assignments and distract oneself from doing any homework at all. Fixed to the wall by the windows you will find the pasteboard (http://www.snitchseeker.com/gryffindor-common-room/gryffindor-pasteboard-98540/) for classes and other school announcements.
The windows, wedged between falling tapestries and portraits of Heads of House past, look out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace takes up a large section of the wall near the entrance to the common room. It's the perfect place to relax and hang out after a long day of classes. If however you are in need of a nap a good night's rest then there are two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. Boys' dormitories (http://www.snitchseeker.com/gryffindor-common-room/gryffindor-boys-dormitories-98564/) are upstairs and to the right above the reading room, while girls' dormitories (http://www.snitchseeker.com/gryffindor-common-room/gryffindor-girls-dormitories-98565/) are upstairs and to the left above the game lounge. Be sure you don’t go breaking any of the rules by attempting to go up the wrong staircases. Boys don’t stand a chance of beating the enchanted staircase, and frankly girls should know better.
For whatever reason you're here, make sure you take good care of your home away from home. There's bound to be a perfect or your Head of House lurking in the shadows making sure you stay out of trouble...or ready to join in on whatever mischief you may be up to. This is Hogwarts after all. Anything can happen!

Leonard was feeling absolutely exhausted, but he didn't really feel like going to bed. He didn't have the energy to do much more exploring, but he didn't really feel the need to right now, not up here in this cozy area. It really felt like home.
He was in love with it.
So instead, he'd brought his guitar down from the dorm and started playing, not really thinking about what he was doing as he switched from one song to the next whenever he felt like it.
Yes, this was the best way to spend your time.

Bianca carried a basket full of feathers, tape and glue in her arms. There were also papers of various colors and some patches of old fabric lying atop it all. Bianca liked the Gryffindor common room. It was bright, warm and just so pleasing. Hearing the soft sound of a guitar, Bianca tilted her head to a side and flopped down on the ground.
"Whatchu playing?" she asked, unpacking her various items before her. Feathers feathers feathers. They were so much fun and so brightly colored. "Do you want one?" Bianca held out a bright pink feather towards the kid.
It would be rude not to ask.

Looking up at the older girl he smiled at her, before thinking for a moment as he kept strumming, stopping once he realised what the song he was playing was. "Uh... it's called Hide by a Band called Little May..." he told her with a smile. His mum had liked the band so he'd learnt a few of their songs early on in his life. "I'm Leo by the way, first year" her offered as an introduction so they had that out of the way.
And then she offered him a bright pink feather... would it be rude to say no? He really had no clue... "Uh... sure?" he answered, head cocked to the side...
Well at least he could give it to one of his sisters... they'd like it... wouldn't they?

Bianca had never heard of that song ever in her entire life.
And she had lived a long life. "It's pretty. You know... I know how to play a little bit of guitar myself," she said with a smirk.
Okay that was a lie. Bianca had never played guitar ever in her entire life. But this kid was a first year. That meant he was little and didn't know when big people were lying. Like right now... right? Who knew. It would be funny if he did believe her. "I'm Bianca, fourth year."
She passed him the pink feather and laid some fabrics out. "I'm making hats. With feathers." In case he was curious. Which he probably was since Bianca thought she was fascinating and all. Heh.

"Yeah... it's an indie song, never was really popular" he replied, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. But it was still a special song, something that all of his family enjoyed actually... except the thing who called itself his stepfather.
"You do?" he asked, a grin on his face as he took the strap off of his shoulder and offering it to her. "Do you want to play something?"
Because playing guitar was always a lot of fun and he couldn't imagine anyone who could plan not wanting to play.
Accepting the feather, he watched her curiously as she worked with the fabric. He wasn't really good at anything along the lines of sewing or actually making things. He could play music and he could cook/bake. "That's pretty cool" he commented with a smile. He might actually have to pay attention and see if he could make some for his sisters...

She beamed. "It is, isn't it? Wanna make one?" Because she wouldn't know why anyone would want to make feather hats. They were so cool. Right up there with the pirate hats (which had feathers) and baseball caps.

Puck (http://www.polyvore.com/puck/set?id=125332183)'s hands clutched to her backpack as she made her way over to the seating area. The fireplace was a nice touch. A needed touch if the stories were true.
She was beat.
Her legs.
Her poor legs, they were like lead weights. Why had Godric Gryffindor ever decided to house people so high? She got why Ravenclaw had done it...or she claimed that. Her name had a bird in it she was probably a bit batty despite her...intelligence.
She glanced around the room and groaned. "I miss Germy," she sighed and thought of her pet. He was adorable. And he couldn't be here.

"This is amazing," Sapphire said softly to herself. She was standing at one of the windows, looking out towards the Hogwarts grounds. "I'm glad our dormitories are up here."
She took a few more moments willing her eyes to memorize the beautiful view before she turned and comfortably set herself on one of the squashy armchairs. "I wish I could go exploring..." Sapphire thought. She looked around the common room. There weren't many students yet. "It would be more fun if I had someone with me. Maybe show me secret passages and stuff."
Sapphire's eyes sparkled at the thought.

Mitchell opened his eyes and was greeted by silly string. Yeah... let's not get any bright ideas with those, 'kay? He sat up slowly. "Hey Cinna." he greeted running a hand through his hair. "How's it going? Have a good summer?" Not that he knew anything about her plans. Or anything. They hadn't really talked much. He wouldn't mind if that changed.
This silly stuff was pretty cool you know? She couldn't wait it use it on other people. Too bad she wasn't here right now. Crazy fairy lover. Seriously they were fourteen now. In her opinion way to old to be playing fairies. There were so many things better than a fairy, like snogging.
"Nice party, right?I had a pretty good summer. Did you? Spend lots of time with Marigold I bet." She got all beamy. It was Mitchie. Like they didn't even really get to talk much last term. Or the term before that even she came to Hogsmead and the matches.

Bay was running down the stairs from the boys dorm so he could go outside and "play" more like enjoy the weather and such when he spotted a first year girl who he's seen around and d'awww she was all alone. Walking up to her he made his presence known because he didn't want to scare her. "heyy… what are you doing?" he asked sweetly for he didn't want to come off as mr.bossy ahahah.
Leaning against the window she was looking out of he sighed. "its a nice view yeah?" he said as a statement. he was really going to miss this place.

Class was over, thank God! Chance's head hurt. So many spells, information, and techniques were floating around in Chance's head. He was done. Beyond done.
Not to mention the 7 stories he just had to climb. Out of breath, he came through the portrait after a quick and weezy hello to the Fat lady. Looking around the common room, he wondered if he would see someone familar looking. Spying Puck, he wandered on over and plopped beside her.
"Who you talking to and you miss who?" He asked. Yes, it was a nosy person and yes, he will invited himself to talk to you.

Puck didn’t see him climb through the portrait hole, or really when he had made his way to sit down next to her. Nope. She had been staring at Luke for quite sometime watching his unblinking stare – it was creepy. She had purchased a creepy cat.
Maybe she should have gone for the kitten with the attack eyebrows instead of the older hairless thing? And then she felt it. Someone sitting next to her and turned to glare at the person.
Who did they think they – oh….it was Chance.
The Weeeezing one.
“Hey Weezy” she grinned at him, an impish grin on her face. “Oh…ugh that cat over there – the unblinking hairless thing.” She pointed to where Luke Skyhopper was sitting perched on the mantle piece in the sweater she had been forced to put him in.
“And I miss my pet hedgehog Germaine…or Germy” she gave him loooooooook an I’m still gonna get you for that silly string look. "did the stairs nearly kill you this time?" she asked as she tried again like the first time she had met him to stifle a laugh. If he didn't stop weezing though she'd help him find the hospital wing. Where was that anyway?

Catching his breath as he sat on the couch, Chance looked to where Puck was talking about. Ugh There was a hairless cat with .... was that a sweater???.. sitting and staring at her.
"Well, what did you do to it?" Chance asked, his breath finally catching up with him. Man those stairs were horrible. "He seems to either be obsessed with you with the staring, or you did something to him/her." Chance said, eyeing the cat.
Hedgehog!! Chance had always wanted one. He'd seen videos on hedgehogs when he was little and ever since had wanted one. "Oh man! Hedgehogs are awesome... well from what I know of them anyways." Then she asked about the stairs.... "Almost, but I survived! See?? My breathing is back to normal." And just to emphasis it, he took a BIG breath. "Ahhhhhhhh."
And there she was trying not to laugh at him again :P

Puck glanced up at the cat and then to Chance. ”I put him in his sweater…if I didn’t he’d possibly freeze?” she shrugged and squirmed away from the stare. Or tried.
”that is Luke Skyhopper…Claire my whatever she is named him –“ she paused as she noticed his excitement over the hedgehog. ”Really?” she was so excited that someone else had wanted a hedgehog. Colin had been so weirded out by that request but she’d convinced him.
”THEY ARE THE BEST” she squealed…wait? No. That wasn’t a Puck noise. Clearing her throat and maybe flushing at the awkward little noise she had made she continued in a much more…acceptable voice? ”they make this funny hissing and jumpy-click nosie when they aren’t happy its actually a really cute sound and and and they make this happy huffing and puffing noises….” okay she was beaming from ear to ear her eyes twinkling as she spoke about them.
HEDGEHOGS!
”my brother wanted me to name Germy Sonic…but you know, I think that Germaine is a better fit for me” she grinned at him…..oh right the stairs, she laughed when he took the exaggerated deep breath.
”you know the upside of being this high – we can slide down bannisters and see where we end up!” she grinned excitedly. Wait…the stairs moved right? Wouldn’t that be a disaster?

Sonic the Hedgehog. Chance remembered playing the game when he was younger. But Sonic didnt resemble anything he remembered seeing in an actual hedgehog. Chance laughed when he saw Puck get so excited about hedgehogs and started babbling about them. He nodded at her and gave her an odd look. A look between amused, and trying not to laugh. It was probably about the same look she gave him when he was having his food mental breakdown at the Feast.
"so.... We should get you a hedgehog then?" Chance suggested. because... well obviously she needed one.
"Well... I will not be sliding down any rails, I have a package in between my legs that does not need to be broken by those rails." He imagined the medieval rails and all the curles and sharp points on them. Chance shivered. "Not to mention, those moving staircases." Chance could picture himself free falling. He would have to keep his wand handy if they ever decided to do that.

He wouldn’t see it coming would he? She thought and continued with her smirky-glare. That’s when it happened. Her hand lazily shoved into his shoulder…playful smirk in place.
Puck couldn’t not laugh when she heard what he had said, ”oh please that’s what cushioning charms are for…how else do people fly around on broomsticks?” she laughed. ”and its moving staircases the whole thing is grounds for a visit to the hospital wing…wherever that is” she laughed.

Without responding he brought his guitar back to himself and began playing Counting Stars, before switching to Timber, then Fancy for a little and finally to Problem. He enjoyed mixing up his music, and he was proving a point. Which made it slightly more than just showing off.
"Sure" he answered with a small shrug, a smile playing on his lips. "So any reason why you're making feather hats?"

Not an accepted pet???? What in the world?! I mean, os are accepted and so are frogs but send in a little cute hedgehog and all of a sudden no ?? Well Chance just didn't like that! So he stated it. "I just don't like that." There point blank. He said it.
And speaking of not liking something. Cushioning charms probably wouldn't help a moving target and it wasn't about bravery. It was about preserving his body parts !
"Ehhhh, I'm brave enough without sacrificing." Chance said with a laugh and the. Heard some music playing. He looked over to a younger boy (Little Random)playing a guitar and applauded. "Nice!" He commented and spied Beezey talking to him and gave her a smile as well.
Turning back to Puck he said, "I am not musically inclined one little bit."

"Well," Sapphire began, keeping her eyes on him as he moved towards the window and leaned against it. "I was just...thinking. I wish I could explore the castle more and stuff." She smiled sheepishly and then nodded as an answer to his second statement. "I really like it here. I'm so glad I'm a Gryffindor! Though if I didn't get sorted in Gryffindor, I hope I'd be in Ravenclaw - just for having a dormitory up in a tower."
Sapphire bit her lip in embarrassment before speaking again. "Er...I'm sorry but...I think I've forgotten your name Sir. Was it...Bee?"

Especially when he started playing her song. Fancy. She was about to sing along with it and all but he switched to a different one. Bianca liked it but it was not Fancy. "You should play Fancy again. That's a good song," Bianca said with a grin on her face as she sorted her feathers.
Why was she making feather hats? Why not? "Because they're cool."
Oh and there was a C-Squared over there. She wiggled her fingers in greeting and blew him a kiss. Because why not? She was going to become famous or something and do it to everyone eventually.

"Hey" he replied as he stood there with her and then his eyes lit up.. "you want to go exploring… well you'll just have to come with me now don't ya" he gave her a fun grin.. "I was just about to head down to the treehouse and thats one of my favourite places to go" and have fun with friends… maybe some of his friends were going to be there when they did… she would get to meet his friends.
"yeah, Gryffindor is just the best.. don't get me wrong the other houses are awesome too, but being a lion is just the best" could he tell her again how awesome Gryffindor was?
Sir… ahahaha Bay almost laughed.. but any ways, he can laugh at that later.. "your very close, its Bay actually…and how about you.. whats your name again?" all the new faces were starting to blur together for him and he really hoped that he got to memorize a few of them before he leaves.. "its a bit chilly outside so maybe a sweater?? or light jacket?" he told her as he was already wearing his gryffindor sweater.

Puck agreed with him, heck really he agreed with her depending on how you looked at it. “I know right?” She sighed; awkward words were not coming nope. She was not going to do it. It could be wrong. Heck. She didn’t care. She was Puck. Puck’s didn’t have to worry about awkward they weren’t awkward at all because they were…awesome yeah?
“I like you.” She nodded matter of factly. “You like hedgehogs…your funny….” She hoped he got it right? That she thought he was a good friend person? But well, if he didn’t get it and thought she was flirting well, she kind of was she flirted with anything or so her brother had said. Heck, she had flirted with a puppy once, but…well talking to a puppy was almost like flirting because they were so cute and cuddly.
“Hah, well…I’m not either – I have no idea what I want to go to school for though” she shrugged…”I mean I was on the quidditch team in my old school but they cancelled Quidditch cause of that threat, I mean I don’t want to die.” She frowned cause this didn’t sound like a good idea at all. She didn’t want to be hurt cause she was all sporty.

Man, what if they pt a hedgehog in a sweater like Pucks cat was in? That would be hilarious!! He should express that thought to Puck. He opened his mouth when she said she liked him. Chance froze a little bit, his mouth hanging right open. This one was a little blunt wasn't she?
Chance grinned. "Well! I like you to! Hedgehogs liking and all!" He said with a chuckle. Of course, he meant it i the friendly way. Hopefully she caught on to that. He didnt know her well enough except for a minute or two of talking to know if he thought of her as anything else right of this moment.
"Quidditch banned!" Chance said, his mouth hanging open. Again, surprise came over him. "Well, I mean, everyhting has his risks!" He said. Because... that was the truth!
Turning his head back around after smiling at Beezey and commenting on the boy playing guitar, Chance noticed Beezey blow him a kiss, he shook his head and mouthed, "You arent fancy!" Boy, one girl admitting she liked him, whether friendly or not, and another blowing kisses. Heck, this might be fun.

“Yeah I know it’s sad about Quidditch isn’t it? At least we’ve got the mini-pitch game in the game area” she grinned. “Well – it was more that someone sent a death threat into the daily prophet last summer and…well, it looks like they haven’t found the guy yet” she shrugged and leaned back stretching slightly in the chair.
“So? You have a favorite class yet?” She asked excitedly. She wasn't sure about hers yet but she was banking on potions or divinations...because both seemed fun right?

Sapphire stood up, walked quickly towards the armchair near the fire place, and put on her sweater. Then she ran towards the door, ready and eager to see what Bay was talking about.
"Well, aren't you coming?" Sapphire smiled. "Oh, and I'm Sapphire by the way."

Bianca liked the songs he was playing.
He smiled at the request, and started playing the song she asked for. He had to admit he kind of liked it, but he preferred others, he felt they just sounded a lot better than some of the more popular songs.
"Fair enough" he commented. Feather hats were pretty cool depending on who you spoke to. He personally liked hats that had feathers but... not in this colour...
Maybe a nice blue? Or red? Or black?
Anything except that type of pink?

Phew!! She meant friends! Chane wasn't aure but his smile grew once he realized it. "Yes one sided friendships are never good!" Chance said with a curt nod.
Chance still couldn't believe it about the quid ditch stuff. What in the world?! Where had he been? "So wait... What all happened?" He asked wanting to know more about it.

OMG. So boring. Need help with the boring!!
Silas stomped into the common room and paused. Glancing about he put his hands on his hips and HUFFED. DOES ANYONE REMEMBER LAUGHTER?! Of course this dialogue was happening in his head, as did a LOT of things. But yeah. WHATEVER.
Padding toward the fireplace in his pink socked feet he smiled around at those assembled. Noooow who was going to be his new partner in crime. PIC. YEP. Woooooo.

What would have happened if she hadn’t meant friends? She thought as she saw how immediately the coloring returned to the poor guy’s face…and he was smiling few. Smiles were good.
“Yeah they are a bit boring aren’t they?” She shrugged and then glanced up at the guy walking through the commons. What was with the huffing? She thought eyebrow rising slightly at the guy in question.
And Herbology…right her attention was snagged back for the time being. “Right herbology it seems…interesting minus the dirt-part for me.” She chuckled, “but the man eating plants sound cool” what? She wasn’t your average person. That much was abundantly clear. “and its practical cause you need plants for potions” she nodded.
And now her attention was grabbed by the huffing one who had sent her a smile, well he’d sent everyone smiles…it was only right to return one. “Trying to blow down the house?” She heard what she had said and smirked at the guy – oh yeah she had done it. Little kids nursery rhyme references were a-go.

Blah blah. Herbology was lame blah blah. Yeah.
Turning to look at the girl that spoke to him, Silas smirked right back. "If it would shake things up around here I'd damn sure try." Meaning he was supremely bored. Like SAVE ME BEFORE I GO INTO A COMA BORED.
Meandering toward where she was seated he stopped a few feet away and considered her. "Wanna go do something dumb and potentially dangerous?" Glancing toward the guy she was previously speaking too he smiled a bit more genuinely for him. "YOu are of course welcome to join as well. The more the merrier."

She was hesitant, Herbology was definitely not on the most exciting subject list but his mom loved flowers and by heritage, so did Chance. Besides, it was awesome to see so many. There were plants that let you breathe underwater, and plants that if lifted out of the ground, screamed their heads off. Pure magic in the raw right there. You cant produce that sort of magic. It is just grown!
The attention of a huffy puffy Gryffindor came into focus when Puck started talking to him. Chance looked over to get a better glimpse at him. He was bored out of his mind and you could tell. Chance smirked as the attention from Puck, went from him to the new boy. He wouldnt point that out though. They were friends as she said.
"Fun? I am in dire need of some." Chance said, standing up. He needed some excitement. He needed some rebellion. He needed some hidden fun.

And okay what was Chance up to? She eyed him carefully as she spotted him smirking…and now Danger? Had she heard him right? That sounded like a great idea…okay, so the hat had sorted her properly but she was still mad at it.
“Dumb and potentially dangerous? Isn’t that in the secret memo they give to all new Gryffindors?” She asked with a smile, “what do you have in mind….ugh…” she didn’t know his name…she’d fix that later, “danger boy?” She asked a giant grin on her face.
Oh! Yay! Chance was coming too!

Hopping up from her seat she grinned at the boys in question. “What awesome thing are we going to do?” She asked excitedly.

Silas let his eyes wander from the boy to the girl. They were obviously sheep. And he was their SHEPHERD!! Yep. This was going to be AWESOMESAUCE! Grinning first at the boy, then at the girl, whose names he probably ought to know by his THIRD YEAR. Bah. Who had time for all that?
Once they had both agreed to be dumb with him he grinned and grabbed his shoes from the spot near the portrait hole where he had left them. "Well isn't spontaneous stupidity the best kind? Like... when we see the thing we ought to be doing we'll just KNOW. Yes. That. Let's go. Need to grab anything?"

”we should convince this one here to slide down the bannisters at the school….or do mattress races down the moving staircases whoever lands at the entrance hall first gets a prize maybe?” she grinned….”but spontaneous stuff does sound good as well…I’m up for anything, really.” she grinned as she really just wanted to have a fun time.
She did give Chance a quick look. ”c’mon we need to live up to our house name” she laughed and flashed both Chance and Silas a wicked-grin…a mixture of sarcastic laughter and genuine happiness playing on her face.

Heh. Gryffindors were amazing. How easily everyone got excited to do dumb stuff!!
Yay!
Also the chick was WAY off base. Heh. Silas had no interest in her other than a partner in crime. He simply looked at people a lot. Like... eye contact was what you were supposed to do. Duh. Anyway.
Slipping his shoes on he started toward the portrait hole, but stopped just short as the girl began to talk. "No planning. Uggggggh. That's boring. I want that lightbulb moment. That PING. Just you know it when you see it. And I really want to go outside. You guys with me? Oh and I am Silas, by the way. You may have seen me around the common room? I'm in year three."

Mitchell nodded. "Great summer. Went on the field trip to Greece. Goldilocks came over to visit a few times." That was pretty much it, but that's all he needed for a good summer.
"She's worried about those OWL tests. I told her it was way too early for that." The term just started after all. Plus, they weren't snowed in anymore. They should be up to more exciting things than studying.

Bored of being stuck in a common room doing nothing.

His hand had slipped from Angel's grasp at some point during the journey from the fourth floor to the seventh floor. Perhaps he was a bit nervous about the simple gesture being noticed by other students around them. And as they neared the common room, there were certainly more and more around them to keep a secret from. They hadn't yet talked about that part of their status but Benny himself felt it was probably best not to be too outward until those that were closest to them. Namely Adi and AJ.
Giving the current password, the elder lion held out his arm in the direction the common room once the Fat Lady's portrait swung open to allow them access. "After you," Ben offered out of politeness.

Angel looked at Ben as she saw a nice seat near a fire. "You coming Ben?" Angel asked as she sat down making sure she left enough room for him. In some ways she wanted to sit on his knees and cuddle up to him but she didn't want to scare him and sitting next to him would be good as well.

Darius walked into the common room with a few books tucked under his arm. He needed a break because his brain was completely fired with all the new information whizzing through it. Never had he ever been so completely overwhelmed with school, but this magic stuff was no joke. He had done some reading on squibs, so it was understandable why his family had slowly detached themselves from magic considering he was the first to show magic abilities in over three generations. It left him feeling a little lost. He wasn't use to being behind on things that were considered to be common knowledge, which left him playing catch-up.
He took a deep breath and moved to sit in an empty seat. A part of him wanting to open his books to do a bit more reading, but the need to rest was greater. He just needed to chill and relax for a bit and perhaps make a friend. There was no point letting himself get worked up after only just a few classes. "What could I do around here that would be fun?" he asked, more talking to himself than anyone because he really didn't know anyone yet.

The fourth year couldn't help but feel how different it seemed. Sure, they had spent time together before, even without the company of Adi and AJ. Thought of the latter making him glance around to see if the sister was in the immediate vicinity.
The coast clear, he took a seat on the couch, aware that Angel had left a specific spot open for him. Benny tentatively raised his left arm to rest on the back of the sofa leaving him open beside her as he relaxed. "Aren't we already?" Sitting on the couch together counted...right?

"This is cosy." Angel knew that Adi wasn't a Gryffindor so there was no chance of the repeat of the Whomping Willow incident last term but well AJ could come in but she highly doubted it.. "Have you notice a change in AJ lately?" Angel suddenly asked Ben.

Allowing some time to pass between his first lesson of the term just to make it seem like he wasn't coming down TOO hard on his lions and their rubbish aim, Airey entered the common room with a large box in his arms that seemed to be moving of its own accord.
"It's bloody dark in here, you big turd!" came a voice from within the box.
Airey ignored it, rolling his eyes, and set the box down on one of the tables by the fireplace. "Thank Merlin I made sure to enchant the box shut," he mumbled to himself. Otherwise he was sure he would have been seeing heads rolling about. Literally.

Literally.

Angel suddenly jumped up from her seat when someone or something spoke. She had never heard that voice. "Sorry Ben." Angel had been cuddling up-to him so maybe she had hurt him when she jumped up but she was shocked.
Now where was this voice coming from?
Angel was going to investigate when she saw Professor Flamsteed carrying a box. "Hey Professor. I'm up for a bit of a challenge." Angel really wanted to have a challenge.

Angel smiled at Benny before blushing a bit. "I guess that we are." Angel then giggled. "We are sat on the couch together." Angel said truthfully. "But I was wondering if maybe you might want to go for a walk around the lake one day?" Angel said as she cuddled up-to him.
"This is cosy." Angel knew that Adi wasn't a Gryffindor so there was no chance of the repeat of the Whomping Willow incident last term but well AJ could come in but she highly doubted it.. "Have you notice a change in AJ lately?" Angel suddenly asked Ben.

She blushed this time without him, an oddity since they usually set each other off. Instead benny was fine as they just sat there, aware of her closeness but not shrugging it off. "I think that has possibilities." What harm was a walk around the lake, as long as the weather was good and not too cold? A simple starter outing for ones moving from friends to a couple.
"Hmm...I do--" he started to say he hadn't when she reacted to another presence in the common room before him. Benny shifted cautiously as just barely escaping an elbow in the stomach as Angel moved. "Its okay," he said quietly before finally turning his attention to the reason for the movement. Professor Flamsteed making an appearance.
With a large, mysterious, moving box now residing on the table.
"Hello professor," he greeted politely, listening to what the man was saying once he tried for their attention. "I guess I am." Can't have Angel having all the fun alone.

Completely oblivious to the budding dynamic he had just interrupted, the astronomer BEAMED at the two Gryffindors and gave the wobbling box a firm pat. "STELLAR!" he applauded them both as he reached into his enchanted breast pocket and dug around for a few moments. "Based on that class performance, the pair of you could use a bit of target practice, especially with Gryffindor playing in the next gobstones match."
He meant that as an observation, not an insult. Although his delivery left something to be desired.
"Ah, here it is," he continued as he pulled out a wooden rack with a handle (http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w420/cosmicgryffindor/SS_SchoolRPG/Gryffindor/bowlingpins.jpg) and offered it to Mr. Atreyu and Miss Valentine. "If you two wouldn't mind setting a group of ten pins each up, pyramid shape of course, at the opposite end over there that would be stellar." He gave the box on the table a nervous glance as it began to bulge here and there as the contents became more restless. "We'll just let that be for now," he said, jabbing a thumb at the box in question.

And then Ben was joining in. "Awesome Ben." Angel said dreamily as she looked at him, seriously this was why she was dating him because he was such fun.
Angel then took the wooden racket that was offered to her and Ben. "We can do that can't we Ben." Angel beamed as she went off to set up her group of 10 pins making sure she did it in a pyramid shape like the Professor asked. She was a bit upset that Flamsteed had interrupted her moment with Ben but this could be fun.

Both Flamsteed and Angel seemed eager for his participation which made him glad to have given in. No way to be a spoil sport among two of the people he really shouldn't disappoint. A Head of House and a girlfriend. Plus he and Angel were still being together...just not alone.
As for the activity, Ben knew what the professor was talking about. He hadn't had the best luck and it had been awhile since he had practiced similar movements in quidditch practices and matches. Although Adi was definitely the better bestie at gobstones. He allowed Angel to accept the offered rack and moved with her to where they had been instructed to set up the items. The fourth year wasn't all to familiar with them but a pyramid shape was simple enough to set up, especially as he did the exact same as the girl beside him.

Stellar! Airey wiggled back and forth where he stood as he eyed the floor between him and where the two Gryffindors were setting up. Eh, nothing a good spell or two couldn't fix.
His wand out, Airey moved a few of the long runs that ran across the floor of the common room and aligned them so they made two 'alleys' aimed at the pins set up by Mr. Atreyu and Miss Valentine. "Just one more detail," he said as he tapped his wand against his chin before pointing it to the rugs. "Glisseo," he commanded, saying the spell out loud for the two's own benefit. "THERE! Now we are all set to bowl," he applauded, mostly himself because he was giving himself a pat on the back. "Hope you two don't get queasy around shrunken heads. They can be a bit difficult to stomach."
He then approached the box and gave it an encouraging pat with his hand to open it.
"ABOUT BLOODY TIME!" sneered one of the heads in the box.
"Well come on. Don't mind the insults. They are just words after all."
Where were some of the other lions? EVERYONE needed practice.

The glow that was emitting from the book was enough to make anyone curious about what was inside it.

"EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!" Angel suddenly heard the same voice again... being muggleborn she hadn't seen these before so they were new to her.
Angel looked into the box. "What the?" Angel suddenly saw the shrunken heads. "Ben this isn't the sort of date I was after. A nice walk around the lake with you would have been better" Angel had totally forgot the Professor was in the room because she was zone out looking at the shrunken heads.

Connor was headed back in from the grounds, He and Jun nearly lost track of time and he wanted to be sure to get back before curfew, he only barely made it really. Headed through the Common Room he spotted a girl he hadn't talked to before, with a book that was glowing..
Curiosity getting the best of him as it so often did he walked toward her, looking down at the pages over her shoulder. "What book is that?" he asked scanning it's contents, it looked like an old book...very old. Old books could be interesting, and this one glowed.. So none of his usual 'Hello's' or 'what's your name?' nope, all manners were tossed because this was two of his favorite things, mysterious and a book!
Zeke had had enough of sitting in his dorm attempting potions homework... it just wasn't happening. Instead, his feet led him down the stairs and into the common room, the heart of the Lions den. There were people present, and it seemed they were being sociable. PERHAPS he could be sociable too.
Most of those present he didn't know very well, like the older peeps (lazykitty, Schroyers) but then there were those he did, like Ben, Angel and Professor Airey. Those few individuals received a GRIN from him, AND a small wave too.
"Hey... what'd I miss?" the first year greeted, hands in his pocket as he approached the group. A book? "Are we ... having story time?" or something?? Had he missed some grand plan for stories and marshmallows by the fire? WERE there marshmallows?

Wait...there was another voice? Where was it coming from?
Finishing with the pins, Ben turned and saw the professor open the box up. Don't mind the insults?! He had an idea, but only as Angel made a face and spoke words of disgust was it confirmed and he looked in the box himself. Yep...shrunken head bowling.
His thoughts couldn't linger on the concept of the game long however as Angel decided to make another comment that succeeded in having him color in embarrassment as well. And it wasn't just the Professor around either. A fellow year-mate girl, an older boy and Zeke had made an appearance as he looked around at the sound of more movement and voices, Ben unconsciously took a step from the pins and Angel as he swallowed in an attempt to pull himself together.
It was then that he registered what the professor said to the other fourth year. A book? He followed everyone's gaze to notice a glowing book in the girl's hands and looked curiously at it. Maybe it'd be better then bowling.
'Sure looked interesting.

"EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!" Angel didn't want to pick up the head by it's nose though wasn't this a bit mean surely the heads would get hurt with all the bowling. She had heard of SPEW but what about SHW.
Shrunken Head Welfare was a good new and maybe she should start it surely the poor heads should have a say in what they did.
Angel was about to ask the Professor more about shrunken heads when suddenly whatever was in the girls hand was sending out bright lights and well it got the better of her.
Leaving where she was she went over and smiled at the girl. "What you reading?" Angel looked at the book in the girls hand "Seriously this book looks amazing.. is it a good story?"

Ceorlic was just minding his own business when he emerged from the Boy's Dorm his face was burried in the book he borrowed from Gabe Banner, some old Mermish Translator book. The Scot mumbling under his breathe some Mermish speak with half a Pumpkin Pastie sticking from out of his mouth.
In Truth he should be reading a Tranfiguration book that was tasked to him to finish before the end of this week, he did not care about that though. He'll breeze through it on Friday. In the mean time he wanted to try this Mermish stuff and get the book back to Gabe.
His attention was so transfixed in the pages and his focus attached to his own mumbling that he had no clue he had just stepped onto some slippery surface...
Loosing his balance as he glided down he threw the book in the air, and crosses his arms in front of his face as he fell head first into pins. his Teeth Clenched and the Pumpkin Pastie now bit half. The first half in his mouth, while the remaining half was on the floor somwhere else.
He sat up rubbing his arms where they made contact with the pins. "Wha th' hell slicked th' flair?!" his Pasties were on Isla, she was a prankster of Boy's after all. All though he thought he was exempt from her list?
He glarred at the group surrounding a table. Isla was nowhere in that group so she wasn't to blame. Maybe they were plotting another prank! NOT ON CEO's WATCH!

Jeremiah was trying to relax, didnt everyone see him lounging on this chair, curled up with his eyes closed? Ugh. Snapping his eyes open at the commotion of a book he rolled his eyes. He knew half of them probably never saw a book that wasnt a school book before but really they needed to hush.
"really, do you mind?" like shutting up of at least chilling out. "its just a book, go to the library if you want to be mesmerized by books." yes even YOU professor Airey, leaving that tower of his might be good for him.

With his hands in his robe pockets, Kevin entered the common room after spending the day at the whomping willow. It had been fun , tricking that Ravenclaw girl Eden to get close to the tree and grab a branch. The bloody idiot actually did it as well...and succeeded... which was kind of admirable. But now he was bored again and he decided to take his boredom to the tower and sit by the fire.
Of course there were students here as well, it was the common room. Even Flailsteed was here which he didn't find surprising as well since he was the new Head of House. He felt a little awkward though as he passed him to sit on one of the lounging chairs next to Jeremiah.
Instead of turning the chair to face the fireplace, Kevin's eyes caught the attention of a book that seemed the be glowing. He raised an eyebrow at that. "Do books always glow?" he asked. What? he'd rather stay away from books...except comic books, those were cool.

Yeah...books won out over shrunken head bowling. Regardless if they needed to improve their aim in time for gobstones. Ben didn't mind the game all that much but it was clear that Angel was against it anyway. So another vote for seeing what the book was about. The professor had mentioned it, maybe it would be important in class. Lessons would be more important than gobstones anyday.
So moving closer with his girlfriend, the fourth year didn't quite notice the book glowing brighter and more intense. Ben waited for the girl currently holding it to answer Angel's question while he tentatively reached to touch the front cover. The boy wondering if he could get a discrete peek at the cover.

Oh look...HERE were the rest of the lions. But instead of being dazzled by this STELLAR thing he, Miss Valentine, and Mr. Atreyu had set up in the common room that were all oogling and drooling over this book as though it held the secret to restoring Pluto back to planetary status.
Feeling like an 8-year-old about to throw a tantrum - how very mature of the professor, no? - Airey marched over to the crowd and looked at Miss Xanthopoulos and the book in her hand for a moment before snatching it right out of her hands. "It's just a fairy tale book," he muttered with a tone of extreme disappointment as he held the book shut and waved the cover at the crowd. See? Just a fairy tale book charmed to glow. "Now WHO wants to play some shrunken head bowling? Hmm? Will help bring victory to Gryffindor in the upcoming gobstone match!" Seriously. Taking the last bite of a sandwich he'd gotten from the kitchen, David gave the password and climbed through the portrait hole. It wasn't unusual for there to be quite a few Gryffindors and Flamsteed in the common room, but this THING that was set up was. What was this?? And why did everyone seem to be crowding around a book...that was glowing?
Whoa, that was kinda cool too. He didn't think he'd seen any books like that before. Books didn't typically glow even in the wizarding world, did they?
So yeah, of course he wanted to check it out too. But just as he was peering over someone's shoulder to look at it...it vanished.
...Books didn't typically do that either, did they?
"Weird book," he commented.
Zeke was OGLING the book. It was...prettycool. It GLOWED and... well, it was kinda like it was inviting people to read it. Yes. They should read it. Zeke put out a hand to try to touch the books binding. Just touch it... that's all he wanted. He liked touching things. But when Professor Airey took it, it was too far out of his reach, and so his arm fell back to his side.
A boring Fairy Tales book? So............ they weren't having story time with marshmallows? That was... sad. He felt like marshmallows now. The book though was DEFINITELY not boring. Because boring books didn't just vanish. But this one did.
"Eerrrr..................." was all he managed to say for a short while.

He quite literally was getting to the best point of the story when the book just...vanished. Vanished right out of his hands into thin air. "Noooooooooo," he groaned as he groped at the air for an invisible book that didn't exist. The fingers on his left hand balled up into a fist save for his index and middle fingers which instead curved a little and continued to stick out.
What had he just been looking for? It was...OF COURSE.
Turning his head around, he GLARED at the lost boys - and...girls? - and leaned forward to peer at each of them directly in the eye. No. None of them were who he was seeking. NONE of them. Must have slipped out right under his nose like the crowing coward that he was. BAD FORM! BAD FORM INDEED.
"Come back here and fight me!" the man bellowed suddenly as he stood up straight and spun in place to look around the entire room. "Or I'll find you wherever you are, you hear me? Bad form! Bad form indeed!"
And then without another word, he made his way to leave the room, tossing the shrunken head that had been in his hand into the fireplace on his way out.
"Proud and insolent youth! Prepare t' meet thy doom!" he roared just as the door closed behind him.

"Profess...." Angel was about to ask Professor Flamsteed if he was going to get back on with the bowling when he started talking about the lost boy. So the Professor must have been reading Peter Pan.
"eh guys." Angel looked at everyone else in the room. "I think Professor Flamsteed has gone off his rocker." Angel wonder why the Professor was acting like this and then he was leaving. "Seriously guys maybe we should get the healer to check him out when we find him?"
"Great who's cleaning up the mess in the common room?" Angel sighed. "There's some shrunken heads in a box over there." Angel pointed at the box.

Things were pretty boring, yes it was a book that glowed but once he saw it wasn't so special anymore. That was until the Head of House began to speak or more like shout. Kevin turned his gaze away from the book to look at him and gasped when a shrunken head was flying towards him.
He ducked and the thing went in to the fireplace right behind him. The Gryffindor narrowed his eyes as he looked up again , searching for the violent Head of House. "YA! WATCH ..." the man was already gone. "It?" REALLY?!
He had to agree with Angel about Flailsteed being off his rocker. "He shouted at me once before" which had been needed or else he wouldn't have listened." but this is completely different" he said. "Not to mention that he does everything to NOT get in to a fight like that and now he's searching for one?" just what?

"Miss Xanthopoulos! Why don't you come read that book over here. Or, you know, better yet....bring it and yourself over here and bowl with us!"
That WAS a pretty looking book she had there though, wasn't it? Very...appealing...
SOOOOOOO much attention!
The book began to glow even more brightly in the hands of the Gryffindor (lazykitty), hoping that all those present would flock to it like pixies to sugarplums.
Yes. Come closer and flip through its pages and feel the leather bindings that held those glorious pages together! Come come, no need to be shy.
Angel was glad when the Professor didn't realise what she had meant that was good and hopefully everyone else was way busier with whatever it was in the older girls hand.
Sure, this other girl whose name Connor didn't know was holding the book but he could help but reach out and put a hand on the page as he starting reading the words..
It was a rather mesmerizing book wasn't it? More so than any book he's seen.
Nothing special to see here...although the astronomer couldn't help himself from opening it up somewhere in the middle and reading the first page his eyes fell upon.
Quite the intricate illustrations in here as well...and OOOOOOOOH...he hadn't read this story in AGES!
Glowing and twinkling bright in the hands of the adult, the book almost seemed to giggle with delight as it vanished from sight once again and was no where to be seen.
"Where'd it go?"
Angel was totally watching the book until it vanished into thin air, seriously what book did that.
Yeah it was 100% official first the head girl and now Professor Flamsteed had gone nuts.
Heather was so enthralled by the book, she barely noticed that she had attracted quite the crowd, which was weird because she normally loved a crowd and nothing could distract her from one. But, this book was just that interesting. Somehow, her brain registered some questions, though, which she answered with a blanket response. "Oh, this? It just appeared here, it seemed to be calling my name." Mhmm, and now it was hers. Though...... "Sure, I can read to you from it, if you like." Wasn't nobody getting ahold of this book! Nope, HER book!
Until it wasn't anymore. Looking around, she saw who the book stealer was. Professor Airey! "Professor, please give it back to me! It's the best book ever, and I want to finish it!" Seriously, Heather was prepared to wrestle him for it. And not that silly playground arm wrestling, either. Real wrestling where someone could get hurt. But then, the book just.....disappeared. Great. Now the best book ever was gone, thank you Professor. Not even paying attention to anything around her, she collapsed into a nearby chair, not noticing the guy (Jeremiah) that was already in said chair and started to cry. And yes, she HAD seen books aside from textbooks before. Had read them in five different languages, too.

Errrrrrrrrrr No, No they didn't...... Glancing over at the boy who flopped down next to him he shook his head slightly. "not any book that i've ever read." unless he was ready the wrong sorts of books. he really didn't know. "i wonder what makes it so special." he ran his hand through his hear to get it out from his face and shrugged some more at the boy he didnt know.

Well, at least he was trying to be civil and talk to a stranger, pressing away any anxiety he might of had about talking to people he didn't know. He was trying to keep his cool and not stress out as much as he could until someone SAY on him.. not just someone but a GIRL.... in his lap..............................................
.................................................. .................................................. .............
Sure he was upset with Beverly currently but that didnt mean girls could just SIT in his lap. He looked over at the boy (Kevin) with wide eyes before looking back at the girl (Heather) who was.... Crying. Oh no no no no he didn't DO crying.... nononononononononononono

Kevin looked at Heather as she started to cry for her book to be given back and sat on the older boy's lap. Were they together as a couple? because if they were Kevin was SO OUTTA HERE! But when the older boy (Jeremiah) turned his head and looked at him with wide eyes he had to take back his laugh.
Actually, he didn't take it back at all and just snickered at the look he was giving him before shaking his head. Should he help out or not? He didn't like crying though, it was a sign of weakness to him. "Uhm..." what was her name? "What's your face! you can't just sit on someone's lap and cry, what are you? five? and its just a dumb book anyways"
Ah yes he was very helpful indeed...could he get house points for this?

On minute he was touching the book and the next minute Professor Flamsteed had taken it away. Maybe Ben had been wrong, maybe the man hadn't been interested in it in the first place but was trying to get the girl's attention so they could play with the shrunken heads. Though he did start to look it over himself.
Then the book glowed even more before disappearing.
Huh? What was that all about?
Benny shook his head feeling all weird and confused. The astronomy professor's reaction was proof he hadn't vanished the book away so what had happened? The fourth year didn't get much time to think before Flamsteed was speaking once more....but not to the group about bowling.
...come back and fight?
...Bad Form?!
Did he just get an accent?
The next second the man was running from the common room and as much as Ben was loath to say it, he agreed somewhat with Angel. Something was up for the professor to be acting like that. "Well we can put back the pins if we're not playing after all. " No point dealing with the shrunken heads if it wasn't needed. He'd prefer working with a practice set of gobstones or something similar if he got his choice.
As for the lanes..."Finite," he cast on the floor, hoping the spell would undo what the professor had done to make them slippery for play. Benny then moved over to the threesome that seemed to be having a bit of drama. "Its not a dumb book...to her," he corrected Kevin, trying not to roll his eyes at the younger boy who could be trouble. "Maybe you should ask Mr. Kittridge if he knows where it would be or something similar," he suggested to Heather.
That would help her crying and mood...right?"

Angel was still staring at the door thinking that any second Professor Flamsteed was going to say fooled you because well as she said the only other thing was he had gone off his rockers after all he was into star trek and things like that.
"Oh Kevin." Angel sighed as she heard what he said to Heather. Hey was Heather and the other boy a couple because if so then the boy should be hugging Heather know. "It's a good book that Heather liked." Angel looked over at the other girl.
"Hey Heather I have a few fairy-tale books in my trunk upstairs... that I have brought from home you can borrow one if you'd like." Angel really wanted to cheer this older girl up and see even Benny was trying his hardest this was why she loved him so much.

Making his entrance up through the floor, Sir Nicholas was a bit puzzled by what he saw in the common room. Students seemingly gathered around the fireplace. Shrunken heads. Bowling pins....
"Oh how incredibly thoughtful of you all," he beamed at them all as he floated towards them with his arms extended out to either side as if to give each one of the Gryffindors a ghostly hug. "You all are throwing me a very belated Deathday Party!"
Now where was the fermented cottage pie and cakes covered in clotted cream?
Oh and look at that. There was one Gryffindor already moved to tears in his honour!

"So?" the Gryffindor said after hearing it was a bloody fairytale book and he leaned back in the chair. "If it was a fairytale book then why is she crying? There are bound to be ALOT of those books in the school library anyways" He would never understand people who got sentimental about objects! Which was funny because he had been trying to get his hat back from his Head of House for three years now. ..BUT THAT WAS DIFFERENT! *ahem*
Just then, the Gryffindor ghost decided to show up and his remark about his deathday party made him roll his eyes."Why would you wanna celebrate your DEATH?!" Ghosts were weird! He looked around at the others and decided to speak because he liked to hear his own voice heh. "Flailsteed just came here and went all mental, saying he wanted to fight and he kept saying weird things like bad form and ..lost boys and girls?" he frowned as he tried to remember what had happened. "Then he THREW a shrunken head at ME and in to the fireplace, made that girl cry over there" he motioned to Heather "and then stormed out of the room...So WHY can adults attack us but I get a dumb detention when i do?" Huh? HUUH? talk about unfair!
Oh and there was a glowing book but Kevin didn't see that as important.
Go figure it was hard to sleep once you woke, so he didn't waste much time in bed TRYING to nap. Instead he meandered down to the common room, fully dressed and ready for what the day would bring. But first of all, he figured he'd take the opportunity to clean out the fairies jar for the first time for the day. Setting himself up in a squishy armchair beside the fire grate, Zeke opened the jar and let Fairy out, he still hadn't thought of a name, and figured he wouldn't... naming things wasn't his style apparently.
While the fairy got a chance to fly around, stretching and hovering and doing whatever it was that fairies did when people weren't looking, Zeke got onto the cleaning process. There was nothing in the bottom except for food scraps and excrement... or at least, they didn't look like eggs to him. Though, WHAT did fairy eggs look like exactly? Were they glittery? Or like pearls? Or rainbow coloured?
Meh.
Wand in hand he pointed at the inside of the jar and recited, "Scourgify." With a couple of applications, the jar was as clean as it was ever going to be. It was like brand new.
Catching his fairy again proved more difficult this time around. It wasn't distracted with images of itself, and the room was a fair bit bigger without imposing plants... so it took a great deal of patience and trying for him to capture it again.
Someone really needed to teach him that stop-things-from-moving charm. Yep.
But NOW maybe HE could have his breakfast.

Zarha cackled at some joke the Fat Lady had cracked as she entered the Common Room. She was back from the library, her arms full of books. She would probably look like a proper Ravenclaw except for the way she unceremoniously dropped her books in front of the fireplace. Zahra sat down among her books, legs crossed on the floor and began flipping through pages - obviously looking for pictures and not reading a word.

Isla had just stuffed her face with donuts in the Great Hall and decided that it was time to come back up to the common room for a nap. She muttered the password to the Fat Lady all sleepily and walked into the common room, plopping herself right on the sofa in front of the fireplace. She noticed her roommate, Zahra sitting on the floor. She watched as the blonde was flipping through the pages of the books and wondered why she wasn't even reading them. Then again, that was what Isla did too when it came to books.
"Hey Zahra." She yawned, stretching out her arms. "You know magazines are better for when you're for pictures." That was basically all Isla read; magazines. Books bore her with all of the information it had and pictures were so much better at interpreting what was going on. A picture says a thousand words. Or at least that was the saying Isla had heard and lived by.

"Yeah......," Zahra had to admit. There was NO WAY she could sit still long enough to really get through a text book like these. "It seemed like a good idea at the time." Every single book was about trolls. And giants. Zahra was pretty pumped about BOTH of those right now. "But you're right. Unless trolls and giants are posing in Witch Weekly, this was a pointless tangent I went on."
With that, Z shut the books and flopped out on the floor. "You smell like donuts." Her roommate was awesome like that.

Isla had that 'good idea' before and thought to give books a chance, but she just couldn't. Her favorite book though was the pranking handbook, which was obviously for pranking reasons. "If only trolls and giants were in Witch Weekly." She laughed. That would be hilarious, especially if they were posing.
She shrugged. "When don't I smell like donuts?" She asked, amused by her statement. She might as well be a walking donut with the amount she ate. She laid her legs out on the sofa, thinking about all the donuts she ate today. "Did you know they make donut milkshakes here? They're amazinggggg." She said, looking over at Zahra. It was basically blowing her mind knowing that they make those. She had to get the recipe from one of the house elves before school was over.

After having spent so much time staring at the creatures, Zander decided that it was about time that they saw there new home for the next week. Or well... There new home was the jar, but they'd be spending a lot of time in the Gryffindor Common Room too, but you know... Still in their jar. Unless they were going to fly around a bit because wasn't that somewhere in those instructions too? Eh, he'd have to read up on that again.
But anyways, he was here to sit and relax mostly. But also figure out what this fairy babysitting stuff was really about. So walking over towards one of the couches, he set the Jar on top of a nearby table and leaned all the way back into the sofa. Getting all comfortable and whatnot. Now, to stare some more. HM. How the heck was he supposed to tell the two apart anyways? All fairies looked the same to him.
...... EXCEPT!!!
The one on the right... no the left... no the right again... Okay if they'd only stop moving around that'd be really nice thank you very much. Well, whatever. There was one that was a little bigger than the other one... And the other one, well it had a big head. So Mr. Big Head and Mrs. Big body. Whether they were actually Mr's and Mrs's was a mystery, but the names seemed rather fitting for now.
So they'd stick until further notice. SOooooo did that mean that he was done with step one? Or did he still have to make them feel accommodated to him?

"Whoa... The house elves have been holding out on me..." which was SOMETHING since Zahra spent so much time with them. She knew them all by name even. "Man... the house elves here are so epic. Like, they need freaking medals of honors. I love them. I want them all. They make my belly so happy."
She tried the book again, idly flipping through pages for something to jump out at her.

"I think it's actually a secret recipe or something." Isla nodded. "I first got it when my arm was broken and my friend had to go ask the house elves for it." So maybe it was for special occasions or only if someone asked for it. Maybe.
Freaking medals of honors? Isla laughed. "They make my belly happy too." She smiled. That was for sure. To think of all the food they make and whatnot was amazing to her. And the food was extremely good. Isla had a maid back home who would make food for them but not everything she cooked was that great. Though she did appreciate the maid being there, just the maid didn't compare to the greatness of the house elves.
She looked back over at Zahra who was looking back through the book. "So why exactly are you reading a book? Just for fun?" She raised her eyebrow. It sounded more like boredom to her, but then again it seemed like everyone in Hogwarts loved to read.

"Well... you know... after Potions," where Zahra and a Ravenclaw had KILLED A FREAKING TROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, she was kind of excited about Trolls. "Like... nothing educational or whatever has ever been SO exciting. I thought maybe I found like.... what I should start studying?" Though after Zahra said it, heard it out loud, it sounded really dumb. "Troll Slayer probably isn't even a job haha." Dumb. Zahra knew.

Oh right! How could she have forgotten about that. Then again...wasn't that the day she was zoning out about food? Yeah she was really hungry that day. Anywaysss...
"Troll slayer should totally be a job even if it isn't!" Isla said, standing up onto the sofa. She pulled out her wand and started swinging it around like a sword. "You could defeat the trolls and pose in Witch Weekly with them!" She laughed, pretending to slay the invisible troll in front of her while she bounced back and forth on the sofa.

"Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight?" Troll Slayer would be the epitome of careers. Zahra watched with a grin as Isla got up to SLAY ALL THE TROLLS TOO. So epic, really. "I would, too. I mean, maybe I wouldn't even have to kill them all. Maybe a Troll TAMER/SLAYER... give the troll a chance to CHANGE HIS WAYS or die. Or her ways. I guess there are girl trolls..."
Zahra cast a glance at the book again. Bet those books would tell her. BUT BOOKS WERE SO TEDIOUS and exhausting and asked too much of her, really.

Angel stormed into the common room... She hated everyone at the minute and with family like her sisters who needed enemies her hair was in her hand and she was totally annoyed. "Tribble Troubles..."
Password given, the portrait opened up to allow him through just as a scream could be heard from the common room itself. A female scream. Benny picked up his pace with a touch of caution to see what was up, to figure out what the cause of the scream was. The fourth year just hoped it didn't have to the mysterious occurances and people's odd behavior including his own.
The only person he spotted in the room was Angel which made him feel more concerned. "Angel...what's wrong?" he questioned as he moved closer, sensing something was off as he looked at her. But it was only when he saw the hair in her hands that he put two and two together. "What happened?"

Angel was just staring at her hair when she suddenly heard someone speak. "AJ just went crazy on me and decided to use a charm on my hair to cut it." Angel sighed as she looked up at Ben. "I ain't sleeping anywhere near her, not even the room near hers." Angel was going to sleep in the common room and nothing anyone could say would stop her. "AJ is totally going to get a slap for this." Angel glared.

Benny listened to Angel's answer, eying his girlfriend as he tried to put thoughts together. Had AJ gone abnormal like he and Lex and Flamsteed had been and cast a spell at her as a crazed attack? Or was AJ upset with something her sister had done and retaliated. Both girls were highly feisty and the fourth year supposed it could really be sister trouble that he had missed out on.
Regardless, he had one angry girl refusing to sleep in her dorm with a drastic hair cut and the limp strands still in her grasp. "Angel, calm down," he said, hoping she'd respond. "Getting her back isn't going to make things better." Especially if AJ hadn't been the only guilty party. Although he wasn't all too sure WHAT would make things better at this point in time. If it was all about the hair, was it possible there was a spell to fix it?

Angel just stared at her boyfriend, was he taking AJ side in this and thinking she had deserved this because well she didn't think any girl deserved to have her hair cut by her own sisters, seriously she had been slapped by Abby and now AJ had done this, who needed enemies when you had sisters who were so mean.
"I WILL NOT!" Angel glared at him, seriously she was totally hysterical about her beautiful hair. "I bet a MONKEY COULD DO A BETTER JOB THAT AJ DID!" Angel snapped as she showed Ben the rest of her head and the unevenness off her hair. "If she wasn't my sister... I would have gone straight to a Professor." Angel looked at Ben. "I'M SLEEPING HERE AND THAT'S THAT!!" Angel wasn't happy about all this.

Angel was more upset than she had been during DADA practice and that had stretched Ben's experience in how to try and calm someone down. He caught her glare and raised both his hands up to surrender in hopes she would see he was just trying to help. "Well spells done in anger aren't the most acc---" he started to muse, cutting off when he realized it likely wasn't going to help in the situation.
"We can fix it..." he said quickly to try and cut off any further yelling. As an afterthought, Benny took a hold of both her hands with his as if to stop her physically. "I'm sure there's something." And they could work out sleeping arrangements later. For now they were working on her issue with the hair.

Okay what he was doing and saying was not helping. "I heard you Angel!" Ben exclaimed back to cut through her yelling. Cue sigh. What was he to do? He couldn't help but winch as she screamed his full name out. Why was it when it was finally used, it was used in anger. "FINE...you can sleep down here," he assured her. Benny wasn't going to deny her that choice, but he really needed to try and calm her down even a little.
"Listen...I understand you're mad and you have a right to be." Having a thought, he used their joined hands to pull her closer to him so she would focus on what he was saying. "Yes...she did a horrible thing." Maybe agreeing with her would help at the moment. "But I wasn't lying when I believe there's a spell to fix it. And I will help you with whatever it takes."
Benny certainly didn't like her so upset and he would be a good boyfriend and try to make her happier. He let go of their joined hands momentarily to take her in his arms to hug and hold her.

So he wasn't taking AJ side, this was confusing her small 12 year old brain, one minute he seemed to be taking her sister side but the next he was actually being reasonable. "IT'S RU..." Angel started when.

Benny did his best to meet her gaze despite the glare. Really, mad Angel was not a pretty sight. He struggled with keeping a hold of her, letting her deal with what he was saying, finally relieved when there was first a look of confusion gracing her face and then the conscious more calm look at him as they remained close. The Gryffindors now completely looking eye to eye and Angel no longer yelling at him.
Whew...
He let the hug linger for a minute or two before deciding to take further action. Ben reached into his robe pocket and pulled out a piece of cloth left over from transfiguration. "Let me take this," he said, easing her cut care from her grasp and placing it carefully within, folding the cloth up nicely into a satchel for safe keeping. Anything to call her mind away from it.
Slipping it back into his pocket, the fourth year took her hand again and after kissing her forehead, led Angel quietly over to the couch and sat down. Inviting Angel to join him and hoping she'd accept.

"A small army of elves." Isla nodded, feeling pretty pleased with that answer. She could raise an army of elves and she was sure that they would LOVE to help her since she was pretty awesome. Then again she was kind of raising her own army here at Hogwarts with all of the pranks she was pulling, but she wasn't paying them in donuts.
She pulled her legs in as Zahra sat down on the sofa with her and she looked towards the fire. "I could be an awesome ruler. I could pay people in donuts, have a town made out of candy, and other cool stuff." She said, thinking about what exactly she could do when she 'became' a ruler. "I'd let you be my assistant ruler of the trolls." She laughed, looking over at Zahra.

Maybe...maybe not. But now was not the time to argue semantics. It would ruin the moment they were currently having which Ben had to admit was rather nice. They didn't often have time alone like this and to think it had been a fight between the sisters and his arrival in the common room that had led to it happening in the first place.
"Aren't I the only boyfriend ever?" he playfully questioned her. Not really much to compare it to, unless maybe she and AJ were swapping stories about him and Adi. "If you say so." Watching her as she starred up at him, Benny gave into the attention and leaned closer to his girlfriend, planting a sweet kiss on her lips.

There was her laughter, a far cry from the scream Ben had been met with when he had first entered the common room. But the words that followed brought him up a little short and the kiss was broken, the action smoothed over by Angel snuggling closer. Wasn't it a little soon to be talking like that about them both? Not that he felt fully negative about it...it just felt weird to the fourteen year old.
"Well I don't have one nearby..." he mused not sure of what options he had. And the first stories that came to mind were the fairy tales that had all been making an appearance lately. Not things Benny was sure he wanted to bring up.

"Well I don't have one nearby..." he mused not sure of what options he had. And the first stories that came to mind were the fairy tales that had all been making an appearance lately. Not things Benny was sure he wanted to bring up.
Angel had no idea why she had said what she had but she couldn't take it back now and she was sure that Benny was telling her that she was very upset with herself now because maybe he was thinking that she was weird now and very weird.
Angel continued to snuggle up-to him. "Oh come on." Angel gave her best puppy dog eyes. "please read me a story." Angel hoped that her boyfriend would read her a story because she really wanted a story.

And there was the wide eyes again, almost like an innocent creature begging for whatever it was she was asking for. Leaving Benny wanting to do just that even though he still couldn't think of anything specific to tell a story from. No fairy tales for him certainly. And he didn't really read all that many stories when he himself was growing up. Or had had read to him for that matter.
"Well there once was this very nice girl..." he finally started, his words unsure as he slowly came up with them along the way. "...who took pity on a very shy guy." Personal story might work in some ways.

Angel looked at Benny as he spoke and started to make a story... oh this was nice but who was this nice girl that he was talking about and then he was talking about a very shy guy. "That was good." Angel really thought so. "And do worry you don't have to tell me a story." Angel had no idea what they were going to do now but it didn't seem Benny wanted a story. "So what do you want to do?" Angel smiled at him.

She'd done exactly what she was meant to during the day, roast meat and help others roast it. It wasn't a particularly adventurous job but there was meat and the Gryffindor now had a full stomach and a bag of the stuff taken back with her to her Common Room--just in case the walk up made her hungry. The event wasn't actually over just yet, what with the firework show scheduled to start when she made her exit but she didn't have a reason to stay down there and watch everyone watching the show with their friends. Lottie hadn't bothered to go to the event at all and everyone else was gone. What was the point in sitting by a lake watching colours explode by yourself while everyone else sat in their groups?
None, exactly, so the Gryffindor didn't stay. After putting out the last of the grills and securing everything, she came back here to watch the show in the quiet of the Common Room. Yeah she was still alone but at least now she didn't have to watch everyone else with their friends. This way was better, even more lonely, but better.
Lex had half a mind to collect Felix from her dorm so he could watch with her but she'd already taken the seat by the window and anyway he was probably sleeping. Times like this she really missed Cassia. This would have been their thing. The Prefect Events always were.

He had had every intention of sitting by the lake and watching the fireworks, but when he had noticed an one Alexa Cambridge slipping away and heading back to the castle. Call him curious or concerned, the professor had followed the Head Girl all the way back to the Gryffindor common room. Huh...interesting.
Saying the password and stepping inside, he gave the area a quick scan and easily found the seventh year. Not like there was anyone else around to distract him from the search, you know?
"I suppose...this view does provide a bit of a viewing advantage," he said casually as he leaned against one of the stone walls nearby. "No need to crane the neck from looking upwards."
Yes. Hello, Miss Cambridge. Fancy following you all the way up here.

Lex propped an elbow onto the window sill, placing her face in her palm while she looked out. So far the show was pretty decent. It was almost distracting enough...almost but it didn't prevent her from hearing the portrait swing open the way it did. Weird....she didn't think anyone else would have left the event. Everyone that was there seemed to have been having a good time.
Alexa turned just in time to see the Professor lean against the wall near her. Oh, it was just Airey, well that wasn't so bad. It could have been one of the younger students in which case she might have gone all bossy Head Girl telling them to go to bed if they didn't wanna enjoy what the Prefects bothered to plan for them. Such a good thing it was Airey.
Her gaze turned to the window again, where the lights were rising higher and getting wider across the sky. "I guess." She conceded. "Gets you away from people too, if we're looking at the advantages."
But getting away from people was what she wanted. That said nothing about him. Curiously, Lex turned to look at the Professor again. "What are you doing up here? Thought you'd have found some Professor friends to watch the show with."

Hmmm...that was an...interesting choice of words. Some he was not entirely sure just how to interpret this late in the term. With seventh years, that could really mean one of two things. One was that they were feeling overly sentimental about graduation and wanting to be alone with their thoughts so as not to cry. And then there were students who were tired of the hustle and bustle of the corridors and preferred the solitude because it provided a glimmer of the freedom from the castle that they desired.
He was about 99.8% positive he knew which one Miss Cambridge was. The remaining 0.2% was just there and illustration that there was a slight shadow of a doubt that he could be mistaken.
"You caught me, Miss Cambridge," he chuckled, arms up in the air. "I am up here because I spotted you leaving and decided to see what would make the Head Girl of all students depart from her own event." Yes, there may have been a slight hint of disappointment in his voice. As for other professors to view the fireworks with...well...there was really only one of his colleagues he would enjoy that with and they could do that whenever they wished. "I was actually hoping to view them with you," he chuckled. "Seems like the proper sentimental bookend to your time at Hogwarts."
Just a few months early, but it was all metaphorical anyway. And assuming she recalled one of their first interactions that he was referring to.

Her eyes lowered at that. He'd seen her leaving. That would have explained it just about right. She didn't think it'd have been a problem but there was something in his voice that said different. For a moment, Lex sat quietly, not having raised her gaze to him again. Would it be worth explaining? They could just sit quietly and watch the show then he could leave after and all would be well with the world...'cept he made it sound like she was abandoning duty or something.
Finally, she gave a small, almost helpless shrug as she looked to the sky again. "S'not my event; never was. I organized it for the rest of them to enjoy, not myself. I don't think I belong here anymore honestly. Just holding a space on borrowed time at most." So she could leave the event. She'd done her job, people were happy and if they weren't, they never said as much to her.
Her lips tugged up into the faintest hint of a smile. As far as company went, Airey was good quality stuff so she wouldn't have minded him staying. Lex scooted some, indicating he was free to take a seat if he wanted to.
"Lottie doesn't usually go to these things." She informed casually, but there might have been something else in that tone. "When she did, some of it was spent with Tag. I'd tail Alice sometimes...until she and West went off. This was usually something for me and Cassia." Strange how empty the castle felt these days even while it was packed with people...new people...people she didn't talk to...people she had no reason to like.

Okay. Rewind and FREEZE because WHO was this seventh year standing before him in the Alexa Cambridge costume? Where was the spunk and tenacity he had come to admire in the Gryffindor over the years - once the tears over Jonathan or whatever that not-a-star's name had been were gone that is - and was there a way to go find her and bring her back?
She hadn't been enchanted again by some melancholy fairy tale character, had she? King Cole? Was that possible? If so....he would rather fancy another go at the book...
RIGHT! Distracted. One thing at a time, Flamsteed.
"I would hardly think that someone of your stature and with a legacy like yourself is simply living on borrowed time here at Hogwarts, Miss Cambridge," he said while taking up her offer to sit by her. And he was now smacked in the face with the cruel brick of reality that the young lady before him would not be gracing the common room with her presence next term. And then she was speaking of all her graduated friend, save for Miss Wisteria, and how none of them could have been company for the fireworks display and it...well...it ever so slightly emotionally compromised him for a few moments. "Why would Miss Wisteria only attend such things with Mr. Kildare?" he asked. Why not with her best friend? Especially this one being their last. Seemed...well...rather unHufflepuff-like.
Which, well, that was sort of beside the point.
And Miss Cambridge had not picked up on his subtle trip down memory lane. Alas.
"It disturbs me to see you, Miss Cambridge, looking so down in the dumps."
And without any chocolate or gourmet marshmallows or anything sweet on his person...well, he felt even more helpless and awkward.

Yeah, she didn't expect him to understand the sentiment anyway. It was fine. Most wouldn't. Most still had familiar people walking the corridors. "It's not like that." Not really anyway. "I might have a 'legacy' or whatever but it's not the same as having people who lived it with me. None of these guys know about the man eating plant that ate Runes Guy and Professor Burbage." None of them bunked down in the Great Hall with her, sharing sleeping bags, hot chocolate and ghosts stories. Those people had all officially left her, every last one of them.
"I didn't hide out in my Dorm with 'em when Dementors came for my soul. That was me and Alice. The legacy's useless, they're all off making their own adventures with their friends and my friends are off in the big world making their own adventures....without me."
Did he see what she meant now? This was hardly her place now, legacy or not.
Lex gave a small shake of her head. "It wasn't only for Tag but it was mostly spent with him. She's not a real fan of these events and doesn't like going unless she has to." Which never seemed like a problem til there was no longer a Cassia Somerlad in the mix.
She pulled her feet to her and hugged her knees, not sure how to respond to that last bit so she didn't. The dumps would probably have been better than here. She'd have Felix chasing rats to occupy their time instead of watching everyone take leave of their senses thanks to some dumb book no one in authority seemed to believe her about. "I'd offer us candy to share, but I still haven't found my bag." Or her wand but that without saying considering she was still borrowing his.

Yeah...he wasn't exactly following her logic. He WAS hearing her, but not entirely processing. He hadn't had the same sort of seventh year experience Miss Cambridge had had. His best mates were all the same year - what few he actually had had anyway - so the feeling of loneliness and longing to be out of Hogwarts was missing the mark. He DID know about the incident involving Marion, however, so his face sunk a little as he looked towards the ground. So, Miss Cambridge had been one of those students to witness that horrible accident. The astronomer still had...conflicting feelings about that. Very conflicting to the point where pointing fingers seemed incredibly appealing. But, he could only trust what the Prophet said so much before it was considered ignorant. So, since he had not been present that term...he could really not judge.
Wait...what was Miss Cambridge saying? He was slightly distracted. Ahem. Okay. All attention back on you, Head Girl. Yes. Hello!
Just in time as well since the picture she was painting with her words had become clear. Save for that bit about Mr. Kildare. That...seemed highly illogical. Thoughts dismissed.
"Ah, I see. You are suffering from what some may call the Perks Syndrome" he nodded slowly. Although he also thought that Miss Cambridge was acting and thinking a little too impulsively. Was hardly her now graduated friends' fault that they had been born before her and thus had to finish their schooling before her. "While I do understand the emotional attachment and, having observed your closeness with those that graduated, understand how Hogwarts may feel a little empty and cold...it may be over stepping my boundaries to say so, but this seems a rather...overly pessimistic view of your final year to take. It's not as though your friends graduated and left Hogwarts to spite you or purposefully leave you behind." He paused for a moment and unwillingly felt his heart strings pulling ever so slightly. "There are some who may feel as though you have left them behind once you graduate."
Wait...what? She still didn't have her things back? "Sweet solstice, really? I already have Pebbles and my suits back in my possession," he replied, flabbergasted. "Suppose this means I'll be lending out my wand a bit longer then." Which...was somewhat getting in the way of his research with certain things so he needed to resort to doing them 100% the muggle way. Not a bad thing, but his efficiency was falling a bit in the eyes of the Association.

You know when you could tell that someone was only distractedly listening? That's the vibe she was getting from the Professor right about now and she wasn't sure how she felt about it. One shouldn't ask questions they had no interest in the answer for. It was kinda rude, you know? But Lex wasn't particularly offended. Between Airey and the fireworks, she was perfectly occupied.
She raised an eyebrow when he finally gave his assessment. "Perks Syndrome?...Meaning...?" Yeah, he'd have to explain that one before she fully accepted it.
As for what he thought of how she saw the year, the most she could offer in the moment was a half hearted shrug. "What's so great about this last year?" She was almost daring him to give her something because as far as she was concerned, it sucked. "I know they didn't leave on purpose, logically I know that but it doesn't make the fact they did leave any better." It didn't matter why they were gone, the fact was they were and she was still here, abiding by rules she no longer saw the sense in and being restricted unnecessarily, the whole 9 yards really. Lex shook her head slowly at the last bit. "I can't think of anyone who'll think so. I'm not very close to the others and they've got all their friends who'll still be here. Everyone who'd likely miss me is already gone." Or had she not made that clear earlier?
And an even firmer shake of her head. "I'm starting to think someone might have evanesco-ed them after nicking them. Doesn't seem like anyone even knows what I'm talking about." How was it even possible? She'd been walking around with both articles for what was nearly 7 full years and NO ONE could tell her where she could find them??? "I appreciate you lending me your wand...so you know." In case she'd never gotten around to saying it.

The astronomer had almost forgotten about the fireworks by now. Almost. It was hard not to head the glorious BOOM they made before erupting into a splash of color. This time a vivid red followed by a spirited green. Heh. Christmas. Sort of. That was months in the past already.
"Oh, it's some muggle term invented many years ago," he explained. He only knew about it because of his own little independent study while working at NASA. Needed to study muggle lifestyles and the hip lingo to fit in, after all. "But it is the boatload of 'feels' that come along with graduation and summer celebrations, as your senior friends leave you." Yes, air quotes were used on the term 'feels' as he said them. Why they could not have used the term emotions was beyond his understanding. "Can't honestly say that I had the same experience in my days of youth...none of me upper classmates were particularly fond of me. Something about not appreciating nor understanding my sense of humor."
There may have been a quick wink at the end of that statement. Some people just couldn't learn how to take a joke. Like Andy Pandy.
"It's the last time it is socially acceptable to be a teenager," he said with a faint smile. "After, you are out in the real world with real world responsibilities. An honest to goodness adult." Of course, some were still kids at heart like himself...and of course there were those that were ready to just jump right into being an adult. "Hold on to 16 as long as you can...Changes come around real soon make us women and men..." he sang as sort of an afterthought as more fireworks erupted before their eyes.
He raised an eyebrow at her comment. Ah how easily students forgot that professors were not robotic drones or clones made by the Empire. They had feelings too - some who showed them a bit too much with students for his own personal taste. "I guarantee there are some you leave behind, Miss Cambridge, who will miss your presence very much."
Merlin. How was it that no one seemed to know where her bag had been taken to? Perhaps it was off with his Carolina blue neck time somewhere. Or maybe Toddles had taken it thinking it was something to play with. That house elf did not seem to fall under the usual rules regarding house elves. "Sweet solstice, Miss Cambridge! Hasn't that been missing since September?" he exclaimed, all attention off the fireworks now and on the Head Girl. "Of course. You need to be able to complete your studies. I just hope you get everything back before NEWT's. I don't reckon my wand will serve you nearly as well under pressure as your own."

Cinna had been carrying that little mirror around ever since that last divination lesson well technically cinderella had picked it up for her. Which was a good thing. She must have thought that the homework was some of her chores or had to clean the mirror. Something like that. Anyway she had the mirror. And she still hadn't even started this silly assignment that the "evil queen" assigned. Not professor Cassie. Stupid book! Grrrr.
She flopped down beside the fireplace and pulled the mirror out of her pocket. She realized how ridiculous this must have looked. Thank Merlin no one was paying any attention to her while she was working on this.
How exactly was this suppose work? The most logical idea seem this most ridiculous idea to her. She cleared her throat. In best evil queen voice she looked into the mirror and asked "Mirror, mirror in my hand, who is the fairest in the land?"
Logical? Yes. Ridiculous? Yes. This wasn't a fairy tale.
Nothing. Just her reflection. NOT the fairest in the land. Not Snow White. Cinderella, yes apparently. But come to think of it she was glad that she wasn't Snow White. She didn't need a evil queen running after her. She stuffed the mirror in her bag. Maybe trying this outside would help... Somehow.

A boatload of feels that came with graduation and summer?
What in Merlin's beard...? Lex's brows crinkled as she tried to wrap her mind around that explanation. "Feels...?" It wasn't necessarily that she was poor at using context clues, in fact, she got what he was saying completely but she couldn't really see the idea behind the feels having anything to do with her. The only 'feels' she had were anxiety and an overwhelming eagerness to not be here anymore however she found herself smirking at his after thought. "Older students suck, Professor. It's one of those unspoken rules. I found a few nice ones when I was younger but they rest had a bowtruckle up their bums." Painful, yes, she knew.
"The class directly above mine wasn't like that though. They welcomed me, Lottie and Aidan. I don't think I made many friends in my own year because of it." And now they were gone and she was stuck. This was starting to sound more like a broken record.
Lex tilted her head one way then the next, trying to figure what she thought about his explanation. An honest to goodness adult with responsibilities. Yeah, there was some responsibility she knew of already waiting for her but..."I'll also be an honest to goodness Auror, no school, no restrictions like needing a permission slip to see a man eating plant. No watered down hexes because we don't wanna hurt the Firsties, no detentions for showing people what happens when they mess with you; none of that." Just freedom...or well, as close as freedom came.
"Name one." She challenged. Coming back from her little reflection. Anyone who'd miss her. She was almost daring him.
The Gryffindor grimaced at the realization. September. It'd been that long. Ages since she'd last been given hope that her possessions were still in existence. "It has been that long. What if I never find them?" Then he did it, he mentioned NEWTs and his wand instead of hers and it flipped a switch in her head that brought panic. "I have to find my wand! I NEED an 'O' in DADA if I wanna get into the YATI training Programme!! This is my LIFE on the line!!" KDUGSIFUIUISDGIDUGIDFGVKDZ!!!!

He shrugged his shoulders. Not his words and he had needed to use a 20th century muggle slang dictionary to decipher a few more words in the pseudo scientific definition. "A muggle slang term that means a wave of emotions that sometimes cannot be adequately explained," he stated, shrugging his shoulder again. Intriguing use of language, muggles had. Popularized over the Internet apparently. And he was really...REALLY trying not to laugh at the bowtruckle comment. It was a bit crude, rude and overly colorful for a student, especially the Head Girl, to say so casually in front of a professor. "It must be difficult having such high standards for friendship, Miss Cambridge," he chuckled. Again...NOT laughing at the bowtruckle comment. "Very wise as well."
How was it that he was not aware of her ambition to become an Auror? Or had she informed him of this and he had simply forgotten? If it was the latter of the two, he was blaming the aging illness. It was unusual, and almost unheard of, for him to forget details regarding his more promising students. It also, along with the rest of her examples, illustrated precisely why it was that she wished to be out of Hogwarts. "An Auror?" he finally said, eyes widening excitedly. "That is quite an exciting and dangerous ambition. I heard the YATI program at the Ministry is excellent." He hadn't ever looked into it personally, but word around town was that it was. "A position that also requires patience an discipline." He had a feeling that, despite the Gryffindor basking in the freedom that a post Hogwarts life could provide, she would also learn that it was not entirely as free as she perceived it to be.
But, no sense in crushing her dreams or anything. If it kept her motivated to some degree to finish her seventh year with some zest, then so be it!
And, for the record, she would have made a fine experimental astrophysicist or stellar astrophysicist. But the active life style of an Auror, well, that probably was better suited for Miss Cambridge. Even if he selfishly did want her to go into the field of astronomy.
Folding his legs one under the other, he leaned his head against the window and watched a few more fireworks burst before answering. "Me," he said simply, not turning his head to look at the seventh year.
The dramatics involving her wand and things did not go unnoticed, and of course he was concerned and agreed she needed those back as soon as possible...but the professor was lost in his own set of, for lack of a better word, 'feels' at the moment. Being emotionally compromised was an extremely unpleasant situation to find oneself in.

"Tribble Troubles"
Step one in search, gain access into the common room to begin. With the password given and the Fat Lady moving away to let him inside, the was done. Benny stepped through the portrait hole and walked down the small corridor to the high-ceiled room that was the nerve center of Gryffindor House. He briefly turned back to double check where he had already come to make sure the book wasn't hidden in the pass-through.
Nope...no book.
Facing the common room once more, Benny tried to determine the best course of action. Start from one side and then moving around seemed the best if not only way, taking side trips into the game and reading room in the process. Then maybe head up to the boy's dorms. Maybe he could find a girl to look in their dorms as well since he certainly couldn't. So picking his right side as the starting point, the boy started walking once more, his gaze scanning to room as he moved cautiously and carefully.

Bianca was chilling in the common room. She did that quite often these days. She was, to be honest, quite bored. The Gryffindor was munching on bread people while she lounged on the comfy chairs the tower had to offer before she heard someone. Who was that?
Sitting up straight, she watched someone look around the common room. Obviously he was a Gryffindor but what was he doing? Still munching on bread people she watched him walk around. Was he hunting something? He looked like he was. Bianca didn't know how hunting looked exactly but she was pretty sure that it looked similar to whatever this kid was doing.
Not wanting to scare away whatever the boy was hunting, the girl whispered loudly. "PSSSSST. What are you looking for?" 'Cause maybe she knew. Maybe it was hidden behind Pride the Rock for all she knew. Which reminded her, she would need to take her daily selfie with him later. Yup.

Benny hadn't even known he had been searching the main room so intently for the glowing book that had been the source of so much trouble this term. That was until he had nearly jumped when someone stage whispered to get his attention before asking what he was looking for. "A book," he answered at first as he turned to her. Her as in girl who might be able to help.
"An old, glowing book of fairy tales," the fourth year elaborated for his housemate's benefit. The girl obviously having not been at the book club meeting he had just left with the others where the details of the culprit tome had been discussed. "Have you seen something like that recently?" he asked, his companion not standing out in his memory as one of those lions who had been around when it had appeared and disappeared the last time around.

Was he aware that she had even been there? Honestly, this was the Gryffindor common room. At what point was this place ever completely empty? Watching the boy jump made Bianca grin. Heh. That was amusing. She chewed off the head of a bread person and sat on the arm of the chair, nodding her head slowly. A book. Hm. Well... that didn't exactly narrow anything down, did it?
... Old... glowing book of fairy tales? What? "Did you lose it? You could check the library," Bianca said, standing. She had definitely not seen this weird book of sorts around. A glowing book? Pffft. Was he sure it wasn't just sparkling in the sunlight? "I'd check the library. Maybe someone else checked it out." Because that was a perfectly reasonable excuse for being unable to find a book. Wait. Was this kid trying to steal the book from someone?

Out of the corner of your eye you may spot something twinkling over on one of the tables near the fireplace. While the golden glow appears promising, should you choose to investigate you will find nothing more than a discarded chocolate frog card bearing the face of Harry Potter.
Seems as though there is nothing to see here. Be best if you just head back out into the corridor to join up with the rest of the group...

Benny watched as the girl appeared to mull over what he had said. First sittig down and then standing once she finally reacted to what he had said. Questions pouring from her mouth but nothing that seemed to hold any use or help for him. "Not really..." the fourth year remarked over the loss of it. Sure he didn't have it and was looking for it but he didn't own it nor had it technically been in his possession.
He didn't want either option either.
"It wasn't a library book," he remarked as he resumed his search. At least Mr. Kitridge had been certain of that. His eyes momentarily alighted on something shiny and Ben tentatively approached it, almost tempted to grab inside his robe pocket for his wand. But alas it was nothing but a chocolate frog and his searching was proving to be completely useless. "Just...be careful," he instructed as he moved back towards the common room entrance. "And don't touch or read it if you do see it. It makes odd things happen."
Cue shivers as he finally left.

Jordan took a seat on the Gryffindor Common Room sofa to just relax with some other fellow Gryffindor's. Despite all the usually unusual stuff that goes on at Hogwarts, he couldn't help but notice that Hogwarts just isn't the same without Quidditch. At times, his whole life revolved around Quidditch since he was a decent player and a huge fan of Quidditch. Unfortunately due to circumstances they had to cancel it for this term, which is understandable, but Jordan had been looking forward to this upcoming season of Quidditch for Gryffindor. Oh well.
He really did hope someone would eventually come over and strike up a conversation, even if it was a first year. Besides classes, Jordan seemed painfully lonely and totally bored out of his mind. Maybe it was time he'd make some new friends as it appears Jordan had only a few but always wandered off.

Sir Nicholas, lamenting the end of term coming so soon and thus producing a very empty Hogwarts, glided through the portrait of the Fat Lady and into the common room. Chuckling as he heard the portrait was cursing at him for 'using his ghostly abilities too haphazardly', the ghost floated towards the gaming lounge when he noticed the 4th year and changed course towards him.
"Good day," he announced with a polite bow of the head. Just not TOO much of a bow. "You are looking like you could use a good bit from a billywig."

Jordan replied as he stood up to try and face Sir Nicholas as if he was a person. "I'm really stressed, especially with the workload of all my classes coming to a close with exams coming soon." Jordan had always not dealt with the thought and studying of finals very well at all. He tended to wait til the last second just to study for them, which by definition classified him as a procrastinator.
"I can tell ya, having Quidditch back would definitely help my stressed out mood. Half of the time, I feel like all there is to do is read and study. With the occasional social event around the grounds and sometimes weekend trips to hogshead." Jordan basically lived to just watch Quidditch. It was like American Football to people in the United States. Now with it gone, he often felt bored and out of the loop of everything.

Puffing his transparent chest out ever so slightly (it WAS nice to have a student call him by his preferred name without the ghost needing to politely correct them), Sir Nicholas tried his best not to let his pride reflect on his face when the Gryffindor continued speaking.
"Ah yes. quidditch," he lamented while casting a longing glance towards one of the many windows in the common room overlooking the grounds. "With that absurd threat still hanging over the castle, I fear it may be much longer before the Headmistress will even allow Flying to be a proper lesson again." But really, what was life without a little risk? Just as long as no one lost their head over it because one, the ghost would hate to see the death of a student and two, should the student come back as a ghost having lost their head....well...it would mean that they would be able to join the Headless Hunt when he had been refused.
Again.
Still, the ghost had to chuckle at the boy. "Surely an eager Gryffindor like yourself is entirely capable of coming up with something to pass the time! I've heard over the years that using the helmets off the suits of armour to bowl can be riveting at times." He floated around Jordan and stroked his moustache. "Especially one that visits such disreputable establishments as Hog's Head."

Jordan said thinking about how to replace the actual football considering that it's mainly played in America and not many people at Hogwarts play with American Footballs.

American football? Sounded a bit barbaric...but also intriguing.
"Oh? I dare say that I am unfamiliar with this particular sport," he said as he floating his form down into a hovering seated position "on" the sofa. "Professor Flamsteed is familiar with football, but I am unsure about this American variation. "Perhaps the Courtyard, that would probably work well, however, it would be just as good to get a pick up game going on the Quidditch Field. It's played on a field similar to that of the Quidditch Field in America, just without the tall hoops and different white lines." That would be something that could definitely clear his mind off things. If only people knew of this sport, or maybe he could introduce it to a few of his friends and then begin to haul more people in to make it a regular event.

Sir Nicholas nodded at the young man. The courtyard did sound like the opportune location for this sort of thing, even if the Healer would most likely have to deal with all sorts of scrapes and bruises afterwards due to the stone surroundings. "It is quite regrettable that the quidditch pitch is no longer with us. Though I do hope there is a plan to rebuilt it," Sir Nicholas lamented. "Not that I ever paid it a visit myself." He would attempt to watch matches from the tower and, of course, ask students to recount the matches upon their return to the common room. Still had not found a student who could do as fine a job as Lee Jordan, however. One of a kind, that young man's talent had been!

The thought of the Quidditch Pitch not even be at Hogwarts was a depressing thought. How was he supposed to get his fix of Quidditch when there wasn't even a Quidditch Pitch. "I hope the Pitch comes back at least in my time here at Hogwarts." Jordan had high hopes of trying to get back on the Quidditch Team has a chaser or beater.
Although there wasn't much to do, Jordan had wondered if Sir Nicholas knew about the book hunt. "Sir Nicholas, did you take part in helping the Book Hunt retrieve their books? I heard some of the books are lost and quite spooky."

Sir Nicholas nodded his head as the boy spoke, and supposed that mentioning some of the miniature quidditch-esque games he had seen some play here in the common room would do him no good. "That is still some terms away. Three, is it?" he replied with an encouraging ghostly smile. "Try not to dwell too much on the future at the cost of the present. I can personally guarantee you that life can be too short."
There was a faint twinkle in his eye. The sort that perhaps reflected a deep thought, but he did not divulge in it as Jordan asked him another question. "Retrieve their books?" he questioned, turning himself to properly face the young man. "Oh! You must mean when everyone went gallivanting around looking for that book that has been enchanting people all term into acting like fairy tale characters. I perhaps should have, as doing so would have been my chivalrous duty, but I was not asked nor aware that there was such a hunt until the situation had already dissipated."

Jordan laughed at this comment made by Sir Nicholas. It had been true as Jordan even helped a little with trying to hunt down and defeat a silly little book, as if were a person with bad, or funny intentions. "Yes, this book is quite weird, enchanting people to have fairy-tale personalities and making pixies fall in love with humans. It's all a bit of a mess if you ask me." Jordan said chuckling a bit at the thought of the book actually attacking and playing practical jokes on some of the professors and students of Hogwarts.
At the very least, Jordan hadn't been brainwashed by this Fairy Tale Book, for now. Jordan couldn't really see himself as a Fairy-Tale type of person like a Prince Charming type of person, no. That was not up his alley.

Not knowing much about fairy tales himself, the ghost had been a bit perplexed all term. Starting with Alexa and her highfalutin' attitude around the school, something he had passed off as being the unfortunate result of a poorly brewed potion. But then, as things went on and he witnessed more and more students and professor strutting around as fantasy entities...well...it was alarming as much as it was comical.
"Indeed. Suppose you should be thankful you did not get tangled up into all that. I hope it all has not put the living off books. I do not think the librarian would appreciate that." Nor would the professors...or students in the long run who received troll marks on their exams due to a serious lack of studying.

"Well apparently they had to start actually reading the words of that book to the actual book, as if the book wanted to be read. What a silly situation, what do you think Sir Nicholas?" Jordan said after hearing of the incident. People were calling to burn the book and its contents in order to stop the book with all of its horse playing. The book conjured pixies and chocolate frogs that posed as romantic figures which was quite weird. A romantic pixie, a dancing chocolate frog? Could Hogwarts get any stranger?
The answer to that question was probably. For example, how many muggle schools allow you to talk to a ghost on a regular basis? My guess is not many.

Sir Nicholas gave a small shrug and pursed his lips. "Hogwarts is full of mysterious things, my boy. If you have not figured that out for yourself yet. Severl terms ago there was a young Ravenclaw prefect who was swallowed up by a book and never seen again. That is the rumor anyway." Speaking of books and their 'silly situations'...as the Gryffindor had put it.
"All I can say is keep your wits about you and, as the former Headmaster Tate would say, constant vigiliance," the ghost grinned as he floated upwards from the sofa. Judging by the diming light outside ... the Grey Lady would be making her way towards the library soon and Sir Nicholas was a little antsy to cut her off at the pass. For not particular reason. Other than enjoying her company.
"I am afraid this is where I take my leave. It was good talking to you, Jordan. I am sure I will be seeing you at the feast," Sir Nicholas said with a wink as he lowered himself through the floor of the commo room and vanished from sight.

Jordan watched as Sir Nicholas floated the room like a ghost. Funny huh? Oh wait he actually was a ghost. How lucky to be able to just float across the room without anybody in his way. "Good to talk to you Sir Nicholas, see you at the feast!" Jordan said growing more and more tired. He figured it was about time to take a nap, or even go to sleep for awhile... at least until the feast came around that is.
