On the left wall under the large windows in the Common Room there are a few low shelves stocked to the brim with muggle and magical board games alike. If you feel like playing a game of exploding snap or wizard chess with a friend or two you should come over.
Mr Kitridge has also provided a table nearby with a tray of fixings for tea, coffee and hot cocoa, and to complete the tray some cookies and even a tasty sandwich or two, that hopefully will quench the immediate thirst and hunger you can get from playing a board game with passion and energy.

Soph returned to the common room without getting reprimanded by anyone for being out a little late, which was always an exciting accomplishment, but she... suddenly realized how hungry she was. She'd slept straight through dinner - or so she thought. Maybe... she... HAD been awake around dinnertime, though, and just lost track of time giving her fairies the grand tour. Who knew, really? She supposed it didn't really matter what the case was, but she WAS hungry, so... what to do about it?
She decided she could just make her way up to the dormitory and pig out on sweets as her dinner, but... as she passed the area with the board games and refreshments, Soph didn't even have to think about it - she veered off course from the dormitory to the cozy little area Kitridge had set up for them and she helped herself to one of the sandwiches waiting for her there. "We're gonna make a quick stop off here, okay?" Her fairies didn't seem to mind. Getting comfortable in one of the chairs there, Soph set the fairy jar in her lap as she ate happily, her empty stomach making a pleased noise as the first bite traveled down to it. By the time she devoured half the sandwich, she peeked down at her fairies, and... oh. They were watching her. Were they hungry again, too?
She wasn't sure that it had been a FULL twelve hours since the last time she had fed them, but she thought it was probably close enough, and plus... before today, she hadn't remembered to feed them at all - oops - so they probably NEEDED some more food to make up for it.
Didn't it work that way?
So Soph dug the little container of food back out of her pocket, removed the lid from the jar, and sprinkled the fairy food over Zelda and Lily, who seemed QUITE elated to be fed again. "Glad I could help." Happy that they were happy, too, Soph and her two fairies ate in content silence.
...Did she HAVE to give them back to Thompson after this? It was kind of nice to have them as her little pals. Maybe she and Tobes could work their magic with Thompson and not have to return them. Maaaaaaaaybe.
