The first you see is the fishing gear hanging on pins left of the doorway. The librarian is a bit fishing obsessed so he has brought some fishing equipment if time lets him explore the great lake’s fishing possibilities. The next thing you feel is cozy warmth emanating from the roaring fire place nearby. Remembering the chilliness of the halls and rooms in the castle from his years here Mr Kitridge has taken steps to see too that at least one place is warm and comfortable. In the center of the office you see what should be a desk under all the stuff currently placed on it like charts, crammers, stacks of books, an odd telescope or crystal ball and last but not least a big bowl of candy. Behind the desk, a large comfy chair with a pillow in it is situated.

Hanging on the walls around the office are portraits of former notable librarians like Madam Pince, Madam Rowena, Angela Kohan, David Kapoor and Madam Donovan. The collection of portraits/photographs is completed with some Kitridges who've been successful in some way or other through the course of time. No office of a librarian is complete without a curvy s-shaped bookshelf.

OCC: I will not have an arrival thread so please don't clog up the thread with 'waiting to enter' posts. Have your character knock on the door and then wait for Mr Kitridge to allow you to enter or to come back later. If you have any questions or want to set up a meeting don't hesitate to PM or VM me.:)

Angel had spoken to the Librarian after her disaster last term at the whomping willow last term and now she was having another crisis her sister hated her and she had no idea why and had resulted them fighting in the middle of the Great Hall, well not really fighting since Ben had calmed her down before she had gotten really angry. What had got her the most was the fact her sister didn't know why she was angry with her or why she had slapped her.

Angel slowly made her way to the office door. She was sure Mr Librarian would know what to do since well he was a million years old and knew everything. She was sure if anyone asked him about the middle ages or the great fire of London then he would be able to tell you he was there when it started. Though obviously she wouldn't be rude and ask him anything like that because he was an amazing person and the past was the past.

*knock*

Angel quietly and politely knocked on the office door. She didn't want to get into more trouble for being impolite or anything like that.

The rush of visitors to the library expecting book assistance had quieted down enough so that Leo could take a break in his office. It was a break with work to be done but he could do it in his own time and even eat a late lunch while he was doing it. Leo had just stuck his fork into a piece of pasta and sausage when he was interrupted by a knock on his door.

Getting up he gave the pasta a long glance before he stalked over to open his office door. Peeking out, he plastered on a smile at the sign of one of the Valentine triplets. "Hello Angel, what brings you by?" Leo had a feeling that his late lunch would become even later.

Samantha had decided to draw a picture of Mr Kitridge fishing last year but had only just finished it yesterday. The drawing was like Muggle drawings when she first drew the picture but once she arrived back at Hogwarts she had performed a charm so that it looked like Mr Kitridge was repeatedly reeling in a huge fish. The drawing was also wrapped in blue and bronze wrapping paper.

Angel looked at the Librarian. "Hi sir." Angel beamed. "Did you have a great summer?" Angel knew that she would have to get to the point eventually but she had to be polite and ask the Librarian all about his summer and make sure everything was okay with him.

"I aren't disturbing anything am I?" Angel could smell the food. "Your not about to have your lunch are you." Angel hoped not because this might take a while. "I can come back if you want." Angel sighed as she looked around the librarian. "I was just hoping that I could speak to you and ask for advice about my sister Abby." She was in his house after all.

Sam knocked quietly and waited nervously to be let in.

After sending off some letters with the schools owls, Leo trailed his way back to the library to see if anyone needed assistance. If that wasn’t the case and it was quiet he’d go back to his office and get some paperwork out of the way. It always seemed to accumulate when he wasn’t looking. Coming up to his office carrying a stack of book he couldn’t help but smile at girl standing outside his office door. "Good afternoon Samantha."

Moving to unlock his door Leo asked "Would you like to come in?" Pushing open the door wide he waited for an answer.

"My summer was lovely thank you." Leo smiled. "How was your summer Angel?" Pushing his office door open wider to allow for Angel to enter it he said "You’re not disturbing dear." Examining the lioness closer he continued. "I was about to eat but I can tell that you need to talk to me so eating can wait," Even if his stomach would protest vigorously. "Abby told me after the feast in the ravvie common room that she had been in a fight. I guess it was a fight with you?" he let the question hang in the air as he beckoned Angel to follow him inside.

Assuming that Angel would close the door, Leo walked over to take a seat in one of his two comfy chairs. If his hunch was right then he wouldn’t be eating lunch for a while.

Angel looked at the Librarian. "My summer was okay." Angel said truthfully. "I got to see some of my old friends from Primary School wish was totally amazing and I loved spending time with them. We just hung out and things." Angel totally thought that it was cool doing that." Angel looked at the Librarian. "Thanks sir, but don't starve yourself on my account." Angel didn't want to be responsible for the Librarians death.

Angel looked down at her feet as the Librarian guessed what had happened at the feast. "I didn't expect Abby to say anything." Angel walked into the office and closed the door before stopping and hanging her head in shame at the words the Librarian said . "Yeah it was me that she fought with." Angel sighed. "I am ashamed of my actions sir." Angel said truthfully. "I just don't like being slapped for no reason, though I shouldn't have pulled her hair." Angel was being truthful there. "Anyway, you are right. I was hoping you might give me some advice."

"Okay, I'll have some coffee then." Leo said with a small laugh. Fetching his coffe mug from his desk he listened as Angel began telling him what had happened. In a small inpass in Angel's story Leo said. "Abby only said something because I asked if she was all right. She didn't provide me with much information." None to be prefectly honest except for the existense of a sister fight.

"I'm glad that you see the error of your actions dear. It's a part of how we learn and grow up after all." Leo commented quietly. "Did Abby say why she slapped you?" It was the trigger of the fight after all. "Regardless of who did or said what in the fight you need to seek out your sister and talk about what happened and apologize to her." It did neither of them any good to not be talking to each other.

Angel looked at the Professor as he said he would have some coffee... well it was a start so she wasn't going to say anything else. She really didn't want to get into trouble over anything.

"Well I can see that you care about your students sir." Angel had a feeling that the Librarian cared deeply, she would have to get him something as a thank you present.

Angel then listened to what the Professor said. "I know sir, I should have just walked away and let things calm down but I demanded an apology not once but twice and she didn't give one and so I just lost control. Though I am working on that now." Angel said truthfully, she didn't want to lose anymore points.

"No sir." Angel sighed. "I think that was one reason I got angry because I kept asking her why and she said she didn't know." Angel looked down at her feet before looking back at the Librarian. "I mean you don't slap your own sister for no reason." Angel would never slap her sister unless she was really, really mad.

"I had a feeling you'd say that sir." Angel sighed. "Don't get me wrong I want to apologise for my foolish actions but I'm afraid she won't tell me why she slapped me in the first place and I really want to know." Angel really was upset about that.

"A present for me?" Leo repeated bewildered. "How come you've made me a gift? We haven’t talked that much before this term." Leo pointed out. "Don’t get me wrong I love getting gifts and I’m sure you put a lot of time and effort into making this gift for me but I’m just a little confused as to why you think I deserve a gift." He wasn’t usually suspicious by nature but living at Hogwarts had probably made him just a tad more careful.

Pouring himself a big cup of coffee Leo sipped on it as Angel gave him her version of what had transpired with her sister and how it made her feel. He debated his options as he drank more coffee. "Slapping someone without reason isn't okay Angel. I'm grateful that you didn't slap her back. It would probably have aggravated the already bad situation."

Snatching up a piece of pasta Leo ate it as he eyed Angel with a touch of sympathy in his voice. "I know it hurts and that it's frustrating to not know why Abby acted the way she did. You two need to talk it out, apologize to each other and then get passed this together as sisters. If you can't do it alone then I'll be willing to mediate and I'm sure Professor Flamsteed would like to a have a say in the matter too."

Yes, that seemed like a good plan of action. Snatching up a second piece of pasta from his plate he hoped that Angel wasn’t in more trouble.

I'm never doing it again though sir."

"I'll apologise to her and I'll try and get to the bottom of all this if Abby will let me." Angel said truthfully. "I'll try and speak to her on my own first that way she might open up more if we do it as sister I mean." Angel then looked at the Librarian and sighed. "I mean no offence sir, but with an adult around she might get shy and not tell me anything." Angel said truthfully. "Though if you don't mind if I do find things out can I come back and chat with you." Angel looked at the Librarian.

Samantha kind of understood Mr Kitridge's confusion. "I like making thank you gifts. I find it is more personal. I made you one because of your help in the library. I am more confident in my classes, thanks to you. I also wanted to give you the gift as a sign of respect for my head of house."

Snatching up another pasta piece he chewed it down with a sip of coffee. "I'm always around if you need to talk to an adult." Pointing to the door he said "Go now and seek Abby out and see if you two can’t make peace. You two can’t keep avoiding each other all term long."

It was his way of saying. Angel go try your luck with your sister so i can finish my lunch.

"I'm glad I could be of assistance with the books." It felt okay to accept the gift now. As he placed it in his lap feeling how light it was Leo continued. "You should give yourself some credit dear. The better confidence you’ve acquired all on your own I only had a very minor part in giving you some reading material.." Books could unfortunately only do so much. They could provide with knowledge and tools but in the end it was up to the student how they put said knowledge and tips to practice.

Wrapping up the gift Leo started at it amazed before he glanced over at Samantha with happy eyes. "I love the picture. Thank you so much. It’s pretty. Fishing is one of my hobbies."

Pace. Pace. Pace.

Jun wasn't sure if he should really do this. But who else would he go to? His friends had their own problems and he wasn't going to throw his at them. Besides, he's been a lot to himself lately. But no better person to visit than his head of house, who was also the librarian. Having Mr. Kitridge as Head of House definitely had it's perks. Taking deep breaths, the Head Boy stood in front of the door, but still couldn't manage to knock. Too many things were running through his head at the moment.

What if Kitridge didn't understand?
What if he sent Jun to the healer instead?

Sighing, Jun hung his head and accidentally hit the door; not realizing how close he was to it. Hoping that was a good enough knock, the boy rubbed the spot he hit and stepped back.

Catching up on personal correspondence as well as the paperwork associated with the library Leo looked up distractedly at the sound of a knock on his office door. Dropping his parchments, he scratched himself on his left check as he got up to answer the door. Who could be wishing to see him this late afternoon just before dinner? Unlocking his door, he stuck his head out to see one of his house prefects standing outside. Smiling warmly Leo greeted. "Good afternoon Jun! What brings you by?"

Whatever the head boy had on his chest Leo got the instinct feeling that he’d get to eat a late dinner in the company of the house elves.

Oh, he actually opened the door. Jun nodded, for some reason. Mr. Kitridge hadn't even asked him a yes or no answer. Guess the knock to the door was harder than expected. "Hello, sir. I was wondering if you maybe had a book on controlling ones emotions?" Because Jun's had been all over the place really. And with the recent breakup, things weren't looking up for the head boy so far this term. Plus, the boy might've have been isolating himself lately too. Sitting in his trunk was his thing since last term when he felt low or something went wrong with him.

"I've also been feeling kind of lonely? My friends have been around, but it doesn't really feel the same," Yeah, talking in the office with the door closed was better than out in the corridor.

What? Furrowing his brows in a momentary confusion Leo beckoned Jun to follow him inside. This was not a topic suitable for discussing in the corridor where you could never know who was eavesdropping. "A book about controlling one’s emotions you say?" Leo repeated quietly as he headed back into his office. Expecting Jun to follow and close the door firmly behind him.

Taking one of the comfy chairs he gestured for Jun to take the other. "I'm not sure what kind of book you’re looking for exactly, a book with techniques on how to calm emotions? I'm not sure one exists."

Worriedly Leo asked "Lonely? Has your friends said or done something that has made you feel this way? Or are you homesick?" The possibilities were endless. Leo could only guess as to what made Jun feel lonely with plenty of friends for company.

Penelope was standing out of Mr. Kitridge-Head of House-Librarian's office with a box of cookies in her hands. She had not come here just to give him cookies. It was well into the afternoon and Leo had some minutes left the library unattended to get himself a cup of coffee. He had just put the kettle on and was stretching out his legs comfortably when there was a loud knock on his door. Reluctantly getting on his feet Leo brushed a hand through his curly, unruly locks as he went to answer his door. Opening it wide enough to see who was out there he couldn't help but smile warmly at the sight of one of his claws carrying a box of something. "Hello Penelope! Want to come inside?"

Penelope was wondering if she should go see if Mr. Kitridge was in the library, but the door opened and Mr. Kitridge was in his office. She smiled at the librarian. "Hello Mr. Kitridge! Can I come in?" She opened the box of cookies and offered it to the librarian. "Cookies?" It was best to do cookies first, before she got to the other thing that she wanted to ask him about.

"Of course you can Penelope!" Leo responded as he pushed his office door open a little wider with the help of his foot. Accepting the box of cookies, he drew in the smell and grinned. "Thank you for these dear. I was just brewing coffee for myself." And now he'd have something to eat along with the hot, energizing substance. Beckoning Penelope to follow him inside and close the door, Leo called over his shoulder. "Want some tea to go with your cookies?"

Going over to his coffee pot, Leo moved it off the fire to put on the tea pot instead incase Penelope wanted some. He had never liked too hot coffee.

Penelope smiled at her head of house and followed him inside, closing the door behind her. Tea? "Yes please." Mr. Kitridge was very kind to let come in to have tea. She would wait a bit longer to ask him about the other thing that she wanted to ask the librarian about.

When the tea water had started to boil Leo poured the water into a big cup with a flying eagle on it and handed it to Penelope saying "You can choose which flavoured tea you want. There are tea bags in the little box next to the cauldron." he pointed with a finger at a small red box and then Leo poured coffee into a second cup and took it and the box of cookies over to the little seating group. Plopping down into one of the comfy chairs he waited for Penelope to come and join him. The nature of her visit would be revealed soon enough.

Penelope looked through the box of tea bags and chose one. She put the tea bag in the cup. The cup had an eagle on it, which seemed fitting for the Ravenclaw head of house. Taking her tea with her, she went over to the seating area and sat down in a chair next to Mr. Kitridge. She had not just come here for cookies and tea, though. What to start with, the book that Lex thought escaped from the restricted section, or the need for a sofa outside the Ravenclaw common room? Tough decision here. Books that might be a threat to the whole school were probably more important than sofas. "Lex thinks that a book might have escaped from the restricted section in the library. She thinks fairy tale characters from the book are possessing people."
