In the History of Magic wing of the first floor lies a smaller, unused classroom. Taking the time to fix it up to suit her needs and that of the Hogwarts populous, Professor Glendower has adorned one wall with ceiling to floor mirrors, complete with ballet barre for stretching and warming up, and has stocked a closet with a multitude of art supplies. A small, upright piano sits in one corner of the room and a few chairs sat around several tables are at another end.

Feeling a bit creative? You've come to the right place! This room may be used for extra activities set up by Professor Glendower but may also be used by any student or staff wanting to let off a little creative steam. All talent levels welcome!

OOC: This room is open for students and staff to RP. All classroom (http://www.snitchseeker.com/history-of-magic-classroom/history-of-magic-rules-and-expectations-97660/) and SS rules (http://www.snitchseeker.com/faq.php) apply. And please remember to be respectful of Professor Glendower's things.

If she had known that professor Glendower had this room, around here. She would have been in here working on the pieces for her art show. Now this was where she was going to be working on her artwork. This was the perfect room to do just that. It was nice a quiet in here no one around or not that often. No more working on her artwork in the common room behind the couch or on the floor in her dorm or on the staircases.

Those were just her favorite places to work. But this room was going to be her favorite place to come to work on her art. The sixth year went over to one of the table. Taking out her illustrations she wanted to fill in some of them with a bit pop of colors. Maybe add a few more things to it or maybe even add a monogram to the first entry that she should also get on to doing. She looked around for some colored pencils those would probably work better than anything else, coloring in the illustrations.

For Cinna though, she'd probably spend the rest of the term working on the illustrations perfecting them and what not. She'd probably spend more time on that part than writing the prompts.

She was just that meticulous about her artwork. That was both a blessing and curse. She had been sitting there coloring in the illustrations for what seemed like hours. She was done for now. She was happy with the way things looked. Who knew maybe in an hour or a month she'd s change her mind and add more later. She put away the illustrations.

Eden needed to fix some things and add some MORE things on her manuscript. Personal histories, eh? The theme of this term, she supposed. Eden didn't MIND it so much, but like...ugh. UGH. She wanted to leave out some stuff, please and thank you.

Now, she hadn't gotten very far in her manuscript just yet. She had wanted to draw a tree? Why?! She completely forgot her reasoning behind that...and then right..she remembered. Her name. EDEN. She wanted a garden theme. Did she overplay the garden theme a bit? YEA! But Eden hardly cared. Gardens were fun and pretty and OUTSIDE.

So she would be using garden metaphors throughout her drawing. Her mediocre drawing. Yep.

But she had started drawing the tree, and so she would finish. It was a...what was the name? MINIMALIST or something? Yeah that! It was a very MINIMALIST tree...and she drew just one leaf in the brush part of the tree and wrote her name in very neat script on the leaf. She wanted to make the leaf and her name gold and whatnot--so she quickly went to go find that gold and silver inks--luckily, there were only a few people in here at the moment, so she didn't have to share! She outlined the leaf in gold and her name as well, and the trunk of the tree in silver. It looked SO cool. Ugh. She outlined the bushy part of the tree in green pant, and tried to keep it all simple, to have that certain LOOK about it.

Next...she needed to figure out what else she wanted on this page. Would this be the cover? She thought she should make this the cover..

Zhenya had the afternoon off. No classes. But a lot of homework and study. She had looked at her organiser which she had fixed to the wall next to her bed, and had seen that History of Magic homework was due next. So, that was the priority. As she flicked through the book she made in lesson she decided it wasn't fancy enough. She had carefully written her first entry out, on a spare piece of parchment, before writing it into her Illuminated Manuscript. But as it was her first entry, she decided she might like to do some pretty embellished monograms. So, this is what she decided to do as she made her way up from the Slytherin common room, to the History of Magic Wizarding Suite.

Oh. She had never been in here before, but she immediately regretted it. The girl loved to dance around and have fun, and here was Hogwarts' own dance studio. She placed her Illuminated Manuscript down on the ground next to a barre, and reached towards it, coming into an arabesque. She held it for a few seconds, her pants feeling a bit too tight for ballet, and she released the position, smiling to herself. Well, enough ballet.

She went to the art cupboard, and knew exactly what she wanted. Gathering some watercolour pencils, she opened her book to the first page and drew a large, curly Q, which she would then finish with 'uestion one' before writing her response to the first question in her book. Inside the large Q, she drew some small 'Z' shapes, and some flowers, to represent the Z for her name, and flowers for her love of outdoors. On the second page, she drew another Q. She had only prepared for two of the questions so far, so she decided to do the big Q's on every page, but leave most of them blank, so she could decorate them once she had finished each response. Inside the second Q, she drew some different plants, and some potions bits and pieces; a cauldron, phial, stirring spoon. Then she coloured it all in with the watercolour pencils. She would wait until she had finished with all of her responses before she did the blending with water, as she decided to do it all together.

With the first two embellished monograms done, Zhenya packed up the pencils, putting them back where she got them from and closing the cupboard. She put her book down again, and did a few pirouettes, then some pique turns back to where her book was. Feeling slightly dizzy, but very happy, Zhenya gathered her illuminated manuscript and left the Wizarding Suite.

Dot had her clever little book open on the table, the pages pressed flat with one of her textbooks so she didn't have to constantly keep pressing down the pages while she worked. If only Maddie was here, Dot would rely on her bestest of best friends to help her transfer the illuminated text picture in her head onto the paper. Unfortunately, she was on her own, and it was a pretty sure thing that this wouldn't end to her satisfaction.

Maybe it could be like drawing the clean lines of a dress as she pictured it in her head and make it appear on the page. Broad shapes first, the whole, and then the details filling in the rest. And then color last. She sectioned off the top of her page and sketched out an elaborate W. Sun rays and a curling garland of morning glories created a border around the letter, to symbolize her start of life and new beginnings and the fact that Kyroh said she was like sunshine.

That didn't look so bad at all, actually, and Dot was willing to go over the pencil lines with a quill and ink. Dark, sure strokes to create boundaries for the paint and details on the flowers. She had to let the ink dry fully before using her watercolors to carefully dip color into the flower petals and sun rays. The coloring suited the delicate morning glories, although she wished her sun was bright and vibrant and happy. Maybe she could put on another layer next time, when it was all dry.

Was she allowed to do this?

Zhenya was trying not to giggle when she walked into the Wizarding Suite. She was wearing her weekend clothes, which were comfortable and daggy, the perfect study clothes.

Yes. The barre. It was going to be green. Zhenya couldn't stop herself from doing a bit of ballet at the barre. She just loved to dance, but after a few minutes, it was time to get on with Charms. She only had a few more minutes until her allocated time was up.

She pulled her wand out, pointed it at the barre, pictured it green, and said "Colovaria." Delighted that it worked, Zhenya saw the barre turn green. Zhenya grabbed hold of it, did a series of plies, then left the Wizarding Suite and its pretty new green barre.

When the rest of the school had been given their History of Magic journals, Kate had been away from the school. All she had now was the one she'd gotten from this room, The Wizarding Suite. It was blank and boring, except for one little entry she'd managed to complete the other day. She was back today for two reasons. One, she needed to decorate her book, and two, she wanted to write down another entry. She only had one, and she needed fifteen, so she was nowhere near finished.

Kate glanced around the room. Whoa. You could dance in here! Kate had taken dance lessons at a small studio in Norway when she was really little. She remembered doing all the barre exercises. She wasn't here for that kind of thing, though. Kate gathered a few supplies then stretched out across the floor with her journal open. She looked down at the entry she'd done just hours before, when she'd met Brian in the corridor, and he's tripped over her. Oops. She flipped the page, intending to draw an intricate letter that would begin her second entry.

She knew what she was going to write about--and it would begin with the letter W. She wanted to write about a moment that had recently happened to her. Well, it had happened to her father, but it had affected the entire family. Kate looked at the various colored pens she'd chosen. They weren't regular pens--they were art pens, and she'd grabbed about ten she thought she would use for this page. Kate chose a metallic silver pen and uncapped it. She then set to work drawing a large, curvy, artistic W in the upper lefthand corner of the page. It took her about five minutes to draw the initial, because she was trying to be as artistic as possible with it.

When she was done drawing it, Kate colored it in with the same pen before tightly capping that one and picking up a gold pen instead. Kate set to work drawing curvy lines bordering the page. She had a vision, and that vision called for her to stop the curvy lines and leave gaps ever so often. She then switched to a green pen, where she drew leaves along the golden curves. It gave the border of her page a look of nature. Kate then put aside the silver, gold, and green pens and opted for more colors this time. She then spent the next minute drawing small polka dots of various colors along the border she'd drawn.

With that, Kate was done with her decorations. She still had to write her entry on this page, which she decided to go ahead and start on.

What is the scariest thing that has happened to you personally?

While most people started Hogwarts on September 1, I was at home with my mom and dad. Although I enjoyed being with my family, this was also the scariest time in my life. My mom home-schooled me the first half of my second year, because my father developed a thought-to-be fatal illness. I'll never forget that summer day when my mom sat down to tell me the doctors said my daddy was dying. My father was sick. Really sick. My mom wanted to keep me home with them, so I could spend as much time as possible with him before he passed away.

Other than my first year at Hogwarts, my mom had always home-schooled me, so she was a pro at teaching me by this point. Even though she had a lot to deal with having to take care of my father, she taught me everything I thought I would have learned by going to Hogwarts. After we did our lessons, we spent the rest of the day making memories with my daddy. He couldn't do very many active things, but we talked about my childhood a lot and the things he did with me when he was healthy. I told him all about what I wanted to do when I got older, because I didn't think he would be there to see any of it.

Daddy was a Gryffindor, and he said I had the bravery of a Gryffindor during this time. I don't think so, though. I cried a lot at night when I didn't think he could hear. I was frightened of the day I'd wake up and my daddy wouldn't. I didn't want to be as brave as a Gryffindor. I just wanted my daddy to be healthy and alive. Then one day, my daddy woke up, and he said he felt better. Then the next day, he woke up and said he felt even better than the day before. The days continued like that until one day, the doctors said my daddy was no longer sick. Our lives slowly returned to normal. My parents went back to work, and I came back to Hogwarts. I don't think I've ever had a moment in my life when I was more scared than I was when my daddy was sick.

Marsha had been looking at the blank page of her manuscript for almost half an hour now, and it was still blank. It was stark, clear, bright, annoying, mocking, blank. Sighing, irritated she rolled over onto her back so that she could look at the roof of the room; her book and pens on the floor above her arm.

As she looked at the roof, she focused on her even breathing just like she would do if she was brushing down Chestnut at home. Man, she missed Chestnut. Silently, Marsha wished she could have taken her with her to Hogwarts, even though she knew that she couldn’t have her pony her, didn’t stop her wanting it though.

Next, she thought back to the list of questions that they had been asked to answer. Which did she want to answer? In which order? How should she decorate each page? Urgh. She didn’t know yet and she didn’t want to do it wrong…

Okay. Idea.

Rolling back over to her stomach, she opened the book to the very first page and decided that she would decorate this page, it wouldn’t need to be anything specific really so it would be easy enough to do now. Picking up the graphite pencil that had been tossed to the ground a few minutes before, she leant over the page intending to draw the Welsh dragon, as well as a few daffodils to symbolise her nationality. Perhaps some butterflies, maybe a Griffin for Cadfael… A Welsh Oak tree to symbolise … life and nature? Hmmm.

She sketched out a few different symbols trying to figure out a composition that she liked. Eventually she found something that she liked enough to ink. She hummed along to herself as she waited for the ink to dry so that she could colour the designs in pencil and not smudge the ink.

He'd felt like demiguise turd that day they'd begun their illuminated manuscripts and thus not much progress had been made. Cutty was tempted to just scrap the whole thing and start again. He turned to go to the supply closet but casually meandered toward the barre. What the hey! Oh! This was that thing that Agatha used. "Hehe." He let out a short chortle and slung one of his long legs over the barre anchoring his ankle between it and the mirrored wall. He lifted a long-fingered hand above his head and bent forward only to have his eyes fling WIDE open at the amount of uncomfortableness such a maneuver had caused him.

Breathing shallowly and rapidly, Cutty slooowly removed himself from the barre and refocused aiming for the supply closet like a good boy is supposed to do. He flung open the doors and grabbed parchment, a pencil, and eraser, scissors and decorative paper. He had devised a method that he thought would work.

Knowing that no matter how he went about writing his own life story, his own name would be the very first word in it. He carried the items over to a chair and work surface then used his wand to summon his bag. He opened it up and pulled out a long thin book detailing motifs throughout Egyptian history. He had checked it out of the library trying to design a wax seal for himself before he sent away a letter to Lucia Clark. He wanted to look as pro as possible.

He'd flagged some of his favourites and flipped open the book to a cobra's head in profile. The curve on the other side of it, he thought looked quite like a C and could be made to look even more so with some additions. Using his entire sheet of parchment, Cutty copied the cobra head onto it and when he was satisfied with look of it, he went over the outline with blank ink from his bag. "Siccus Aerous." He never got over how useful that spell Professor Bentley had taught them was and he used it just now to quickly dry and set his image. He'd forgotten colours. So he went back and he chose a red, and an olive green as well as a blue and used the red and blue sparingly as accents whilst the cobra's body was covered in the olive green. The hood on the underside as well as the eye were done in the gold ink. The giant, almost muscular C was done in the red colour and outlined likewise in the black ink. He stopped to check it over. The only thing that he thought was missing was a flicking snake tongue, which he added with the black ink.

Cutty applied the drying spell and then whilst tracing over the tongue of the snake, he muttered the incantation for motion. "Animatae." He said. The cobra's tongue flickered up, down and into and outside of the mouth. With his wand still in hand he cut out a shape of the decorative paper and affixed it to some of the dead space. "Diminuendo." The cobra's head C was done and he placed it on to another sheet of parchment to begin his story.

Cassie might have been breathing very hard, but she had almost ran clear here from the lake. Once out of the chamber she couldn't wait to get inside the castle and somewhere a little more safe. Making sure all her SNACinators had followed she opened the door to the Wizarding Suite and walked in. It was already set up with supplies at each desk,

"Go ahead and find a place, we'll get started as soon as everyone is in here. There is water up front for anyone that might need something and I have cookies." After that she figured they might need a little treat. She knew she could use some.

Zhenya followed Professor Cassie up to the dance room, aka The Wizarding Suite, where there was now water and cookies. Hmm... Zhenya would have to wait a while for the cookies, she couldn't eat when her stomach was so fired up. She had a cup of water, though, and collapsed into a nearby chair, exhaling loudly.

Angel had followed everyone here, she looked around the room before she took a seat. She couldn't wait to hear what they were going to do next, she hoped it was dusting because she wanted to get rid of all the cobwebs around the castle.

PHEW!

The had made it out aliveee! Adi arrived at the familiar Wizarding Suite, still clutching Beverly's arm. "I got you out safe and sound,'' he told her with a smile. He had stuck with her throughout the entire Chamber trip. Or was it the other way around? Either way, he didn't mind. Nervous and scared were two things he had never expected to seen of Beverly but that didn't change his opinion that she was one of the most awesome persons ever.

Adi looked around to ensure Benny, AJ, Zhenya and the others had gotten back before heading to the front of the class to get some water. Man, what a field trip that had been! He poured some water for Professor Cassie first because she looked like she needed it. She was breathing hard, yo. "Here you go, Professor.'' Cookies for her too. She was always taking care of them so it was time it was the other way around, yes?

Anywayyyyy, COOKIES! Adi could finally sink his teeth into something sweet now!

Now they were out of the chamber and away from the creepy darkness and weird sounds that made one's imagination run riot, Toby felt a lot better. Way more positive and all that. It was easier to convince yourself you hadn't been scared when you were back in a much more comfortable, unthreatening place. Where spiders were only sort of likely to be hiding.

Darn cobwebs.

As he entered the room, only a little bit puffed out and already recovering (he was, after all, quite used to running), Toby glanced automatically over towards the mirrors, at first thinking there was someone else already in here but then realising IT THEM. Wow... speaking of cobwebs. Toby grimaced a little and started plucking the silvery stringy stuff off his uniform, shuddering and shivering at the thought that there might be a spider ON him somewhere. KSJSKHDSHK.

But no. It was okay. The mirror told him there was nothing hitch-hiking a ride on his uniform, and that was GOOD. So Toby went ahead and got himself some water before taking a seat, all the while his fidgeting amped up to about level 100, because of all the, uhh... excitement of the day. FidgetfidgetFIDGET.

Boooo... they hadn't spent enough time in the chambers if you asked her. Too soon she was back in the familiar castle. Unlike some of the others, AJ did not run all the way back. Not that she didn't enjoy running, but more because she didn't want their little trip to end.

She sighed as she walked into the classroom they were using. Ohhh... was that cookies? AJ made her way over and snagged one or two. Mmmm. Oh, and was Cassie okay? Adi was getting her some water. Good. What was everybody so worked up about? They hadn't even seen anything in the chambers besides a dead rat.

They were aliiiive and there was food. She wanted food. Looking over at Adi, Beverly couldn't help give his arm a squish, and a small smile in gratitude. "Knew you were tough and all." She smirked, getting her sense of self back. Closed in spaces does things to Beverly Wayne. But they were out and there was food here now. "Thank you, Adi," she added before going to get some cookies.

She needed some sugar in her system.

After getting herself a small bunch of cookies and a water, Beverly went to take a seat, deciding she's had enough adventures in chambers to last her a while. As she lifted the bottle to her lips, she paused. There was fidgeting going on next to her.

"How're you holding up?" she asked. Was Tobias okay? Did he want a cookie? She MIGHT consider and share a cookie.

Kate was still a little pale as she made her way into the Wizarding Suite. The Chamber of Secrets was just not meant for second years, she decided. She had taken comfort in the fact that two professors had been with them, but there toward the end, Professor Cassie got her when she flat out stated that it wasn't safe. Even now, Kate found herself thinking about spiders. She'd been attacked by a rainfall of them recently. She'd even gotten bitten and hadn't been feeling well ever since.

Despite all of that, she smiled when she heard there was water and cookies. YAY! "Thanks, Professor!" she said. Kate helped herself to a few cookies and a glass water then went to take a seat.

A room filled with light and less cobwebs then from below.

Yeah, that was what Benny needed and thankfully what he got when he followed the others into the Wizarding suite. The Gryffindor looked around and took in those gathered around the room once more. Adi..check. Angel...check. AJ...check. The gang was all here although Professor Glendower and the last students hadn't arrived just yet. They had left though, at least as far as he remembered.

He moved to retrieve some water, staying away from the cookies for now. The sixth year wasn't exactly hungry at the moment, you know, after being concerned for one's safety and all.

Once again, Nessa was the last to arrive, but she really wanted to make sure everyone was out to safety first. She'd never forgive herself if anything happened to anyone on her watch. And it appeared that there was enough room for everyone at the tables. She had never had this many students in here at once but she was glad to have a place for all of them to work on what they needed. But she did frown when she saw all the cobwebs that seemed to have multiplied over night. She just hoped the students realized that she actually did clean and that it was just the situation in the castle.

She first got herself a glass of water to calm her nerves a bit. "Is everyone alright?" Nessa thought physically everyone was, but maybe emotionally some might need a minute. She quickly looked over everyone sitting at the tables. Then she walked over to the closet and pulled out a box of the craft supplies that they'd need to complete their project. "Shall we get started?" They had all their SNACinators here and were out of immediate danger, but time was still of the essence.

She watched everyone coming in and calmed herself as they did though her smile grew as one of the students seemed extra concerned. "Thank you Adi" She took the water and drank it before taking a cookie. If they knew the things she had sensed she wasn't sure they would have ever went down in the chamber let alone be looking for what they had, but the positive side they now had what they needed.

Seeing Nessa come into the room she felt a little relieved. Her best friend was truly the bravest of them all. Coming last to make sure they all got in safely, when she had lead the group, which really wasn't all the brave. No Nessa was certainly the strongest of the two. "Yes, I think we should. We are on a time limit here, because I feel that we need to get this out to students." She chewed the inner part of her lip trying to figure out her words.

"I went to Professor Glendower with an idea I had. As you know many spiders have been around the castle and some of even you have been bitten by them. I've been sensing a few things and I feel we need to act fast to try and protect ourselves. As you talked quickly about in the bathroom before going into the chamber Spiders are afraid of Basilisk, but we do not have one of those anymore and unfortunately the venom has dried out. " She walked towards Adi who had one of the fangs, "My idea is to make protection necklaces out of these fangs. It's similar to what people do against Vampires when they wear garlic." Did they understand? "I'm not certain it will fully work, but I don't feel we can go without at least trying."

Did they understand the importance of what they just did now?

"You will work together with these three fangs, one could duplicate the fang and once it is duplicated the others in the group can shrink them. Not too small, but enough that it can be worn as a necklace without being too huge." She glanced at Professor Glendower to make sure everything seemed to be sounding alright. "To shrink something remember it is Reducio and to duplicate it you will say Dupladius" She turned to the water she had and demonstrated both of these.

"If you don't have any questions, please go ahead and start. Make as many as you can because I'd like us to give these out to the students and staff once we are finished."

There Glendower was.

Asking if they were all alright, gaining a nod in answer from Benny. He was relatively okay, though he did have some spots that might be aching the next day from his fall on the rough ground of the chamber. She also asked Professor Morgan if they were to move on with whatever the plan was causing the 6th year to look back and forth between the women. Just what was going on and what had brought them down there...besides the basilisk fangs?

Benny listened as the divination professor spoke up to explain. He knew the history of the hatred between the creatures, it was documented both in Hogwarts' history and the written knowledge about the two groups. Necklaces...wards out of the fangs? Yeah, the Gryffindor supposed it could work even a little. It certainly couldn't hurt...unless of course it angered the spiders it was supposed to try and protect them against.

At least he didn't have to worry anymore about the venom that had kept his hands far away from the sharpened tip of the fang. The sixth year taking it out of his pocket and placing it before him. He figured he could do the duplicating of his fang, passing it on to anyone else willing to do the rest. "Does the spell have any limits...like on how many it could do from the original?" It seemed the best question to ask since they had only three of those and quite a few students.

Would it required duplicating the duplicates?

He supposed if the professors didn't know there was one way to find out, the Gryffindor focusing on the spell at hand. "Dupladius!" he cast, aiming it at his fang. Thankfully it didn't seem to be too hard to work out as he now had two fangs of his own. Benny just had to continue doing it over and over again. "Dupladius!" Three. "Dupladius!" Four. "Dupladius!"

Five down...plus his original...how ever more to go.

They were going to make basilisk necklaces. How wicked was that?! Beverly was on board. Have something that cool around her neck, her cousins will burn with envy. That AND it provided protection. Yes. Someone give her a fang.

"I can help with shrinking one of them," she offered. You know, just being a helpful Prefect. She did have questions, though. Two of them. "Professors, duplicating them won't lessen their power?" Their poison or whatever. Second question. "And...are we going to duplicate enough for the entire school?" Or just for them? The former sounded like a lot of work.

Zhenya watched quietly as the other SNAC members arrived back to the Wizarding Suite. She nodded when Professor Glendower asked them if they were all okay, she was. Physically, emotionally, mentally. A bit scared, but that was always going to be the case when you go down into the Chamber of Secrets. She looked around to make sure everyone else was okay, too. For some reason, Zhenya wasn't sure why Professor Glendower pulled out craft supplies. She wasn't really sure about what they were doing after they got the fangs, but she was about to find out. At least it wasn't just an... Oh, there's the fangs, have a good night everyone. She was, somehow, enjoying being part of a helping project for the school, so she sat up a little, and gave her attention to the two Professors.

Ahh, protective necklaces. "Brilliant idea, Professor Cassie," Zhenya said. It was brilliant! She had a suggestion... "Professor, if they don't work, or if we need a bit of extra magic inside them, maybe we can charm them with runes, like Professot Botros taught us." Could that work? The fangs by themselves would hopefully have enough of their own powers left to ward off the spiders, and Zhenya certainly hoped that would be the case.

Right, so they would be working to duplicate and shrink the fangs. Benny had a small collection of duplicated fangs, so Zhenya moved near him. "Shall I help to shrink those ones?" she asked, reaching for one and putting it in front of her. "Reducio," she said, forming a 'V' shape, seeing the satisfied purple light as the fang shrunk. She held it up to her chest to see if it was too big/small/just right. It was a little large still, so she repeated the spell, and the fang was just the right size, in her opinion.

"You're welcome, Professor,'' Adi said cheerfully to Professor Cassie before getting water and cookies now for Professor Glendy. And yesh, he was ready to start with whatever it was that the Professors had in mind so now he focused his attention on the Divination Professor. Ohhh, protection necklaces! It sounded like something they would do in Runes class but here's to hoping it would work!

Okay, so he would be one of the persons duplicating the fangs since he was still in possession of the one he found. Just let him have a moment here to down a cookie or two, please. Om nom nom! Right! He was ready!

"Dupladius!'' Wheee! Now there were TWO fangs. "Hey, Bev. You can help shrink these.'' Since Zhenya was working with Benny. Adi cast a look towards AJ. Did she want to help him, too? "Dupladius!

Cassie was about to head to a group and start helping when she heard a question from Benny. She had never done so many before, she wasn't fully sure. "Once you get some more of the group can use the duplicates to duplicate them." That would help if for some reason there was a magic number. They needed to get enough for the school.

"There is no power in them at the moment. As I've mentioned the venom has dried out long ago with the years it has sat and the movement that's been down there during the time. I have a plan for that don't worry." She have her an encouraging smile. "Yes we are going to try. " They had to try at least.

Ancient Runes, now that could be an idea too. She thought a moment about this. "I was never that good in the subject, but if we feel we need something stronger then yes maybe we could get Professor Botros for help." She really hoped what she had planned would work.

Turning to the entire group she forced a smile, "You are all doing fabtastic. Keep up the great work." She moved towards a few of the duplicates, "Here I can do some as well." Pulling her wand she started to duplicate it.

Did garlic really work with vampires? AJ wasn't sure, but it sounded cool. Also, she personally didn't want to wear the necklace, but she would love to help keep others safe. Listening to the instructions, she headed over to where Benny and Adi were already duplicating them. That was cool because AJ was actually more comfortable with the reducing spell.

She watched them hard at work, and when several of the fangs were duplicated, AJ snagged her a handful. It was her turn to help. Teamwork got things done. "Reducio." It was still big. Noooo. Now was not the time to have spell problems. Hopefully it was just a fluke.

"Reducio." AH! Much better. "Reducio." Another small one. Cool. She was a fang reducing machine.

"Dupladius! Dupladius!"

Benny continued working on duplicating replicant fangs from his original one, getting the feeling from the professors that they had to work quickly. He momentarily paused and looked up from his spellwork as Zhenya moved to join him, asking a question of him. "Sure..." he answered seeing no problem with it. Plus it worked on clearing off some of the work area so he could fill it with more of the full size kind. "Dupladius! " he cast once more, returning to his work.

The sixth year momentarily stopping again as Morgan answered his question. The response echoing his own thoughts and nearly confirming it. They would have to duplicate from the original three and then duplicate more from the others. Looking briefly at his companion, he wondered if the duplicates should be duplicated before they were shrunk or not. Oh well...it would likely work either way.

"Dupladius! Dupladius! Dupladius! Dupladius!"

Angel decided that she would join in with all this information. She now had to figure out how to do that.

Angel decided to go and work with the Professor, she thought that it would be cool to help them with their work.

"Reducio!" Angel took one of the duplicate fangs and shrunk it... she wondered why they only needed three fangs if they were doing this, she decided not to ask the question though. "Reducio!" Angel reduce another one and then she looked around to see if there was any more she could shrink.

"Dupladius! Dupladius!''

Going over to Adi, Beverly took the fangs he had duplicated and started casting Reducio on them. She concentrated enough to shrink them about the size she imagined Morgan wanted them.

Looking over at Adi, taking the newly duplicated fangs, she suggested, "We can trade if you get tired." You know...'cause she was grateful for his kindness back in the Chamber.

Man, she was feeling like her fierceness needed a retouch. Meh. She'll punch or hex something. Yes. Later.

"There is no power in them at the moment. As I've mentioned the venom has dried out long ago with the years it has sat and the movement that's been down there during the time. Turning her attention back on the blonde, Beverly nodded understandingly. There was a plan. That was great, really. Just as long as she got one of these and lived to tell the tale. Which OF COURSE she would. And it would be a wise idea if she stopped thinking about surviving because that brought in a lot of factors and she really needed to concentrate on this.

"How many exactly do we need?" And why hadn't more students volunteered. Hmph. They shouldn't get any.

With her wand gripped in her hand and ready to go, Kate quickly decided that she would get straight to work duplicating some of the teeth. She sat down next to a small pile of them and placed one out before her. With a flick of her wand toward the tooth, Kate called out, "Dupladius!" The single tooth became two teeth, but Kate didn't stop there.

Kate adjusted the same tooth before her once again then flicked her wand toward it. "Dupladius!" she said again. Kate continued like this until she had six teeth, enough to make a good, strong necklace she thought. "Professor?" she asked, looking toward both the professors in here. Either one could answer. "Do you want us to start stringing them into necklaces now?"

After she listened to Cassie get the students started on getting the teeth ready for the necklaces, Nessa walked around watching them reduce and duplicate them. She'd help herself, but she felt her time was probably best used for passing out the supplies as they worked, then she'd demonstrate how to create the necklaces.

She handed out long lengths of cording and smaller pieces of wire to each student, setting them at their place at the table. "If you'll all look up here a moment? I will show you how to start make the basilisk fang necklace, when you are ready."

Nessa picked up one of the teeth from the nearest table and held a piece of wire in her other hand. "Now I've given everyone some pieces of wire, you will start with that, beginning to wrap it around one corner at the top. Make sure to do it very tightly, then wrap it around the other corner at the top. You should have about a third of the wire left and you will use that to wrap around the middle of this piece of cording like the ones I handed out." Once she worked the wire around both of the top corners of the tooth, she picked up a piece of cording and wrapped the rest of the wire around the middle of it.

Finished, she held up her example (https://img0.etsystatic.com/019/0/6481960/il_570xN.501586468_btsq.jpg). "Now.. we have one more thing we need to add to our necklaces to help make it a little more effective. Professor Cassie will explain that when we are ready. And when you feel you have enough teeth, you can get started on making the necklaces. Are there any questions?"

Adi went on duplicating more and more of the fangs so that the pile was growing. In no time they would get this done if they kept up this teamwork. Awwh, Bevvy was being such a good sport. But she was right. He WAS getting tired of repeating that one spell so often. "Okay, I'll start shrinking them.'' The Puffer swapped the real fang for a duplicate and began doing just that. After downing some water and another cookie, of course.

"Reducio! Reducio! Reducio!'' More mini fangs! But a few mini fangs later, he had to pause to look up at Professor Glendy. Oh? She had given them some wire? In mild surprise, the sixth year looked down on the table. Sure enough there was wire there. It seemed he had been paying all his focus on the fangs he hadn't realised this earlier. Oh well... his Professor now had his undivided attention.

Okaaaay, so they do some twisty things with the wire on both end of the fangs so that it was secured by the wire. They could do that! But right now, he was going to continue to shrink some more fangs, yeah? There was still quite a bit of those left to be done.

And nope. No questions from him! But he was sooooo curious about what Professor Cassie had to show them.

She had been busy working with the rest of them when she heard a question from Beverly. "I know it seems like some work, but if this does help you will be heroes to the rest of your classmates." She gave them all an encouraging smile. "We are going to make as many as we can." She knew their time was limited and she kept sensing more and more things.

Hearing Kate's question and then seeing Nessa start the next process she watched closely. Nessa was certainly better at the craft things then she was, so she was very happy her friend was there today. Watching how to put the necklace together Cassie began the process. Stringing a few fangs before she set them down.

Moving back to the front of the room she pulled out big vials and set them across the front table, "Has anyone ever heard of muggles using bear or deer sent to attract other animals or scents to scare animals off? This is what we are going to be doing today. In these there is Basilisk Venom scent. I want you to place each fang into the scent to get it all over them." She did this to show them how. "It will dry quickly so you can touch the fang, but the scent will stay." Placing the finished necklace around her own neck she grabbed a few others that she had been doing.

"Once you get as many as you can done go ahead and head out to start passing them out. Come back for more. We will leave one fang here for in case you need to duplicate more." Turning she started on more necklaces.

ooc: okay guys! With all that's going on with the castle right now, I think we need to wrap this up :) So go ahead and post them finishing up the necklaces. The fangs were still getting duplicated and she was still shrinking them. It seemed like the best way to go since she had this whole shrinking thing down, and was in her groove. "Reducio." How many had she shrunk so far? Who knew? How many students were in Hogwarts? Were they making them for the professors too? Probably. They didn't want to be spider food either. AJ wasn't sure if the spiders even meant any hard. Seriously misunderstood...

Thank goodness for magic. Could you imagine how long this would take otherwise. Or the fact that it really wouldn't be possible at all, come to think of it Although,
Her ears perked up as Glendower began to explain the necklace process. This is where the muggle work came in. She was going to need more cookies.

Ohhhh. Cool. Basilisk venom was going to be rubbed all over the fangs. AJ didn't have any intention of actually wearing the necklace, but she was now. Yup. Purely because she wanted to smell like a snake. Who wouldn't? Understanding what she needed to do, she gave the shrinking a break, and moved on to necklace making.

Who would be the first one to get an original snake venom smelling necklace made by yours truly? Not to mention they would totally keep them safe. Or so the professors said.

Adi paused with the shrinking of the fangs focus on Cassie. Aha! This was a brilliant idea she had! Actually, he had heard of persons doing stuff like that but he was never sure if it worked or not. Shrug. If it were two Professors he trusted it were Cassie and Glendy.

The Hufflepuff decided he had shrunk enough fangs. He could always return to that and the duplication but for now he would be getting that Basilisk venom scent all over these mini fangs. Adi got a vial of the scent and began following Professor Cassie's demonstration. Into the scent... annnnd sure enough it dried off pretty quickly. There! He now had one finished necklace. Could he take this one? Yeah, Adi decided he would. He placed it around his neck then reached for another mini fang.

Wrap the wire around both ends, dip, let it dry and repeat!

Everyone in the Castle was going to have one of these to protect them for the evil spideys.

Heroes. Well.

Morgan may be sugar coating it, but Beverly liked the sound of the that. A Slytherin hero. Not a bad way of ending her Hogwarts era. Although, troll slayer would've been a lot more fierce, but whatever. Not like trolls were taking over.

Nodding and turning her attention back to Adi after listening to Professor Glendower, Beverly started duplicating the fangs. She was going to need to recharge after this. Her stomach grumbled as she imagined a feast at dinner. Yes. She was going to treat herself.

A while after, when the pile of fangs looked hefty enough, she took some wire and wrapped it around the one she was holding, just as Glendower explained, then added the cord. She was keeping this one, but in order for it to be effective she needed to bathe it Basilisk Venom scent. Just as Morgan said, it dried quickly. Beverly tied it behind her neck. There. She was protected.

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

Some time later--Beverly had lost track of time--she had what seemed enough for her friends and housemates. She took the fangs by their cord and stuffed them inside her bag, making sure the phials in her bag wouldn't make noise. Good thing for charms, eh?

"I'll be distributing these now." She nudged Adi. "Thanks for today. Thanks professors." And she was out.

Kate nodded along as the professor answered her question. So she could start stringing together a necklace, but first, she needed enough teeth to at least make two necklaces. No way was she going to make only one and then just give it away. She didn't go through all this work just to be so heroic she died in the process and forgot to save herself.

Nope.

Kate placed another tooth in front of her. "Dupladius!" she said. The tooth multiplied, but Kate didn't stop there. She pointed her wand at another tooth and did the same spell. "Dupladius!" Pretty soon, Kate though she had enough teeth to make herself a necklace and then one or two more for some others.

She collected all the necklace-making material and then began the process of stringing the necklaces together. This was certainly not the most fashionable necklace, but if she made it through this school year alive, fashion was the last thing on her mind.

They were going to be the heroes? Zhenya was sure the real heroes would be the ones fighting against the spiders. Perhaps exams would be suspended? Doubtful.

Zhenya started to make the necklaces with the shrunken basilisk fangs, just like Professor Glendower showed them. Twisting the wire tightly around the fang, then attaching it to the cord. One would be for her, no? And whatever other ones she made, she could hand out to people. That should be easy enough, just roam the castle looking for people and hand them out, right?

Now they had to dip the fang into the basilisk scent. That was a great idea! The spiders would be scared of the scent and flee. But what about once everyone left for the summer? What if the spiders came back and took habitat inside the castle? What if they closed Hogwarts? The thought started to take hold, before she mentally shoved it out of the way. She didn't have enough room in there for anxiety and study. Once she had done about 5 necklaces, she took them to the front and dipped them into the basilisk scent.

"Oh, I'm good. I'm fine, yeah," Toby said, nodding in response to Beverly (and Glendower, though she had been addressing everyone) and trying to keep a lid on the fidgeting a little bit lest anyone get all concerned or whatever. Which wasn't necessary because he was super mega absolutely a hundred percent fine all the time always. Yeah. "A-okay." Just... couldn't... sit still.

Anyway, Toby was getting quite stuck into making the protection necklaces. Thing was, even though he was pretty TERRIFIED of spiders, he didn't think they would really try to HURT anybody. Sure, they bit people and Toby himself had suffered a few bites, but it was only because the spiders were hungry and not out of malice. He could tell. So... yeah. He didn't think they really needed to be protected from the creatures.

BUT... having a basilisk fang necklace sounded SUPER cool, and Toby was up for it. He grabbed himself an unclaimed duplicated basilisk fang and waved his wand at it. "Dupladius." Yep, just gonna duplicate OF the duplicate so he could make a FEW, and then... again... and again, until he had about six. "Reducio... Reducio..." A few moments later, and they were all shrunk too. All but the sixth, that was, so that he could make more out of that one later if there was time. And he didn't want to shrink it yet in case he LOST it.

Easy as piiiieeee. As long as the spell held for as long as it was being used in the necklace of course, but Toby thought that would still look pretty cool.

Having watched Glendower do the demonstration with the wire, Toby thought he was prepared enough to give it a go himself. And it was kinda tricky and fiddly, but soon enough his first basilisk fang was all wired up. Toby glanced up at the others to see if he was getting it right and if his looked like theirs, before taking a length of cord and attaching it to that. He was so so sooooooo absorbed in his work that he sort of lost concentration on anything else in the room.

After he'd done the first one, the others were a lot easier to work on, and it became faster work. That was always the way. Soon Toby's fidgety fingers were used to the motions of making the necklaces that he was flying through the task, quite enjoying it. It was a cool thing to keep his hands busy.

Toby had just finished up on his fifth necklace and had picked up his wand to duplicate his extra fang when he tuned back in and heard Professor Cassie tell them about the basilisk venom scent thing. OOOOOH, THAT was his next step now. Toby took all the necklaces and went right ahead to do that.

"I think..." he said, once that was done, and he eyed his little group of necklaces. "I'm gonna go hand some of these out, then come make more when they're gone." Nodding. Lots of nodding. Mainly Toby felt the need to start moving about again, and around the castle. Energy, you know.

SO... Toby went to do that. "Be back soon!" he told nobody in particular, making sure he had everything and going out to search for necklace needy students.

She worked on some more necklaces and watched as the students started to finish up. She wanted to give them the best of luck wishes, but she didn't want to come of nervous if it was even going to work. So instead she gave them each a nod and a smile as they exited the room. Looking around at the empty room she sighed and started to clean up. "I think if we just leave a few items on one table that should be enough if they come back needing more, what do you think?"

She moved closer to her best friend as she spoke, "Thank you for helping me with this today. I know it wasn't all that easy and you taking up the back was really brave and ah-mazing." She gave her best friend snaps. She was very proud of them and what they did, only time would tell if it worked. Once she was finished with her demonstration, Nessa watched as some of the students began to follow her lead in making their own basilisk fang necklaces and she walked around the room, looking to see if anyone needed assistance. As Cassie began speaking again on what to do next, she stopped and gave her her full attention. Yes, this was going to be such a help in keeping the situation from escalating and she smiled a bit as she listened.

After a few of the students dipped their necklaces into the vials, Nessa did the same with hers, then took a seat at one of the tables to make a few more. There were a lot of students at this school and she wanted everyone to have the opportunity to wear one. Before she knew it, the SNAC members were starting to leave. Offering a reassuring smile, a wave, and a few goodbyes to the leaving students, she turned back to Cassie.

"Oh, yes, I think that's a good idea. They can come back and make more if they want." Nessa nodded as she looked at all the craft supplies on the tables. Then she looked up and beamed. "Of course I want to help and keep everyone safe. And we will totally do this!" She suddenly felt a rush of excitement. "We need some sort of gesture." Like a victory dance or something. It wasn't too soon for that, right?

This was going to work, it would work. Cassie couldn't think about it failing, no, she'd be too upset if she couldn't keep her students safe. She would think about it working and only that it would work. Looking over to Nessa she smiled, "You are awesome!" There were reasons she was her best friend all these years. She always just jumped to Cassie's crazy ideas and Cassie would jump for hers. It worked out perfectly. A sad fell over her for a moment thinking about summer and when she'd most likely be moving out of their house.

Pushing those thoughts out she grinned as he friend mentioned doing a gesture. "Totes!!" What should they do, this needed more then snaps, but what. An idea hit her and she beamed. "Chest Bump, I've seen others do it and it always looked so cool and big deal. Let's do that."

Thinking about their victory gesture gave Nessa a renewed sense of confidence and she knew everything was going to be just fine. She ran her fingers over the necklace she had just made and put on, then turned her eyes to Cassie.

Chest bump? "Oh! That's perf!" Yes, she had seen her brothers do that before and it seemed very appropriate right now. And she was totally ready.

"Ready!" she beamed before backing up a few steps, then then taking a running leap to meet Cassie in a victory chest bump. Woohoo!

Oh yeah this was going to be great! They had totes just made the best necklaces that were totally going to help. So a chest bump was the perfect ending. She stepped back as well as she jumped up and met Nessa chest to chest for the bump. Landing back on the ground she put her hand up to her chest, "Maybe we should leave the chest bumping the the males and their victory." It was fun and she was still smiling, but ouch it kind of hurt.

Not being able to help it she giggled and gave snaps, "I'm not sure what I'm more excited about right now. The fact that we got into the chamber and out, our necklaces, or the fact that we just totes did a chest bump." It was a great ending really.

Giving the room a final glance she looked to her friend, "Let's get to passing these out to as many staff members as possible."
