While Hogwarts' firsties are heading for the school via the "firstie" boats, the rest of the students will be taking the usual carriages back to the school.

These are the same carriages that have been used for years and years. They are round, black, and seat about four students. They also appear to move along on their own, with an invisible something inside the harnesses...

FOURTH YEAR!

Sophie was actually excited as she made her way to the carriages. Fourth year sounded so much cooler than first, second, or third year. Plus, school was more fun now that she had a group of friends rather than just random people that she knew. ALSO, she had her eye on a certain special someone, and she kind of hoped he had his eye on her, too.

So classes and homework were the last two things on her mind as she approached the carriages. She decided to choose an empty one, so three other people could join her. She did a little wave to the thestrals she couldn't see (just so they wouldn't toss her off or something) then boarded a carriage.

Okay, other people come NOW...so she didn't look like a loser sitting by herself.

Abby had made her way out to the carriages and entered the first one and fixed her robes as she took a seat and hoped that somebody would join her soon

Cinna could see the castle from here. Yay. Fourth year Not a baby anymore but closer to being one of the older students. And it was her second year of Attending Hogwarts. What a huge change from being homeschooled two years ago. In the past year she had made new friends, gotten a boyfriend and so much more that she never thought she would never get to being home schooled. She was glad to be back.

She tried to push the finding out she was going to be a big sister thing out of her mind as she approached the carriages. Not really wanting to ride alone or wait on her friends, one she was hungry and two she wanted a good seat for the feast. Spotting another already in one, she knew of her. One of the Newell twins, Sophie was it? " Hey... mind if I ride too?" She asked. If she didn't mind a totally stranger riding in the same carriage as her.

When Adi had felt the Train jerk to a halt, he had immediately stood up. Great! One step closer to home and another awesome year. Before he had exited the compartment, he had replied to AJ's question. "Nothing. Just talking to my self.'' And with that, he led his friends from the compartment to Hogsmeade Train Platform to an empty carriage.

On his way to the carriage (which he still found fascinating to look at because it looked like they were being pulled by themselves but he knew better), Adi spotted Sophie. He waved to her, pleased to see her.

Adi climbed into the carriage and waited for his friends to join him. Hurrrrrrry, so they could all go to the Castle. This Hufflepuff was for once, impatient.

Sophie watched as a few others passed by. She knew one or two of them but not really that much. Where was her huge group of friends now? Ethan? Simon? GRAYSON?! Even Caleb! Cutty, too. Those were the ones Sophie knew the best. She didn't even see any of them in sight. She was started to nervously adjust her position, when a slightly familiar face came into view.

Ohh, Sophie thought she knew this girl! She was a fourth year, too, and Sophie had heard she was dating Bart. "Oh, yeah, cool," Sophie said, scooting over. "I'm Sophie, by the way. You're..." Hold on--she knew this! "Cinna, right?" Because Sophie had heard a few others call the girl by that name. "I'm glad you came along. I hate waiting on people to join and looking like a loser." Heh.

On his way to the carriage (which he still found fascinating to look at because it looked like they were being pulled by themselves but he knew better), Adi spotted Sophie. He waved to her, pleased to see her.

She caught a movement out the corner of her eye and saw Adi waving. Sophie smiled at him and waved back. Adi was a pretty awesome guy.

There were a bunch of boats, which Dot supposed she should ride over to the castle, since that was what Dima had done last year. But she didn't want to. She wanted to ride in the carriage with the weird skeleton horses and sit with her friends and pretend to wave at commoners like a queen.

That's how she was going to do it. Dot climbed up into the very first carriage she found empty and hung right in the door, watching for more people to come along. She'd invite someone to be a queen with her. Or a king. Whatever.

Having disappeared from the compartment for peace of mind, Benny made his way back when he noticed certain scenery changes marking the time near the end of the trip. The fourth year returning just in time to add his robes and retrieve Conrad and the potted plant before the rush to leave the train began. He had still not spotted Angel, even in his walking and couldn't help wondering if she had missed finding them or was simply avoiding them. Or rather him.

The latter truth what Benny feared.

He followed Adi out almost on autopilot, his belongings returned to either hand once more. The lion instinctively shivered spotting the thestrals, trying his best to not be too concerned about them like always as he climbed aboard behind the Hufflepuff.

Lux couldn't believe that the train had already arrived at Hogsmeade. She was now officially a Fourth Year. Hopefully this term would be better than the last where her boyfriend had almost died. Speaking of boyfriend, she hoped that he would be here to share the carriage ride to Hogwarts with her.

Approaching said carriages, Lux spotted a few people she knew. They got friendly waves. And haaaai, bestie. "Hey, Cinna! Sophie!" Smiling, she joined them, taking a seat. Hopefully Bay, Emmy, and Kace would be joining them.

No boats this year. It was all about the carriages. And while Kyroh was super excited about that he was also kind of put out. The boats were where he had met BODIE and Candice! And where he had ALMOST met the squid. Making his way over to the closest carriage, Kyroh's eyes landed on the harness which was attached to.....nothing?

Oh he KNEW what it was!!! They had learned last year!! "Hi Mister or Miss Thestral!" Kyroh said happily waving at the invisible creature. He hadn't seen his friends on the train which wasn't really cool at all but he WOULD see them at the feast so the sooner the carriage moved the better! He was about to enter the carriage when he noticed a familiar head of hair poking out of the one in front. "DOT!" Running, over the second year grinned.

LOOK! A friend. "Hullo!! May I come in?"

Oh, a KYROH. That was perfect. Dot stepped back into the carriage to let Kyroh climb inside, but she got impatient after a minute and hauled him up by his arm. This was now their carriage. Royal Freckle Brigade in action.

"Hi. This is my carriage. Have a seat." She may have helped him bodily into the seat, actually, but Dot was an impatient little thing today and she wanted to get started. Or not get started yet, since she was hoping that Dima and Maddie would make their way to the carriage too, but started with the being royal and important.

She sat across from him and spread out. "I have a kitten."

Was that a yes, or a no? Kyroh started to climb and looked up, blinking, still not entirely sure until Dot yanked him up by his arm.

OKAY so, had to be a yes.

"Hi Dot's carriage!" Kyroh patted the cushion as listened and took a seat. "Does the Thestral leading your carriage have a name too? Or is IT's name Carriage as well?" That would be confusing.

Kitten? "You got it!? Was it one of the ones that we looked at? Is it a girl or a boy? Does it bite? Is it invisible?" 'Cause like, where was it?

These carriages were awfully weird. Chance still couldnt get over the fact that they pulled themselves, but he could swear he always heard the hooves hit the ground. He listened to it the past two years. And now, he was a fourth year! He gave a little invisible tap on his back for becoming a fourth year.

Chance's smile was plastered on his face as he slide into the carriages. He looked around, draping his arms on the sides of the carriages. His fingers slightly drummed on the sides as he waited to get to the hospital. Come on!! The castle was his home! He was ready to get there!

Dylan ran as fast as he could to the carriages with his kitten Ginger in his arms, his long dirty blonde hair practically flying behind him. He was eager to get into the carriages and get to the feast. His stomach kept growling from his intense hunger ever since the train ride.... He hadn't quite eaten all day because he woke up late AND had forgotten to bring money for snacks on the train because he had been in such a rush. Ugh.

The fourth year saw some of his fellow fourth year friends in a carriage but it was full, so he found himself one with two other students in it he'd never quite met before. He smiled at them as he climbed on. "Hello!" he greeted. "You guys don't mind if I sit with you, do you?" he then added.

Ian had enjoyed his game of exploding snap so much he didn't realize that they had arrived in Hogsmeade. He hurriedly gathered his robe, cards and wand and smiled at his friends. great fun! AJ. Thanks so much for playing with me. he seemed to remember winning more than he lost and he grinned at AJ. He followed Adi and the rest of the students out toward the carriages and headed toward the one Adi had gotten into. He waited to see if AJ wanted help up to the carriage, sice this was her first time.

Ian and AJ didn't even get to finish their game of exploding snap before the train was coming to a halt. "You're lucky Ian... you were spared a huge loss. We will have to finish our game at the castle." That's right, he wasn't going to get out of it that easy. "I had a lot of fun playing with you too." The lion hopped up and tugged her robes on. She was all set to go.

The four of them followed the leader, which was Adi. Then AJ snorted to herself about the irony. Adi really was a leader. Adi said that he was just talking to himself, but AJ didn't believe it. "Right." There was no need to push him about it, but she wasn't convinced.

Benny seemed to be lost in thought, and she gave him what she thought was a sympathetic smile. Where was Angel? Her not sitting with them was definitely unusual.

Hold the unicorns... "What's going to pull that carriage?" Why couldn't she whatever it was? Could everybody else see what or who it was? AJ walked up to the open space and started flailing her arms about. Wait. Maybe nothing needed to pull the carriage because magic!!!

As Kyroh greeted her carriage, Dot wiggled back into her seat in delight. Kyroh was always happy, always always, so it was hard to believe that he'd been having a sulk on the train. Did his mouth even make frown lines?

"Is that what that thing is? A thestral?" she leaned out of the carriage to look at the bony butt of the creepy horse there. "His name is Thackery Thestral. He's Grand Duke of Bony Butts." Obviously. She settled back into her seat and crossed her arms across her chest.

"It was the little gray one. He's a boy, but he doesn't have a name yet. What should we call him?" She fished around in her pocket and drew out the fluff of kitten.

"O... kay." She pointed to the seat across from her.

And that's when he heard the tapping again. Man. What was going on? Was the noise just following him everywhere he went?!! MERLIN. Walking towards the noise, he let out a small sigh in annoyance. Was it just stuck in his head or something? And he couldn't even help walking to the beat. MERLIN. GAH. Then, looking up he realized it was that kid again. The same one he had tapped with in line. Oh. Well that made sense. "Mind if I--?" he said motioning to the empty seats in the carriage.

Oh right...it was AJ's first time in the carriages.

That would explain the younger lion seemingly all confused and wandering near the front of the carriage like she was trying to find something. Eventually she likely would feel something since just because they weren't seen by all didnt mean the skeleton-like horses couldn't be felt by all. Or even heard, since what most people did notice a lot of the time was a snort or a whinny or just the breathing of any of the creatures.

"A thestral will pull it," he simply stated breaking his relative silence. The fourth year briefly trying to remember what had been said in the flying horses class last term about them. Benny himself knew about them of course since he could see them, but he was working to pull up something to refer AJ to.

At least her reaction meant she had never seen someone die. Always a good thing.

Adi took a seat, staring out of the carriage as he looked for other familiar faces. He was quite looking forward to seeing Zander, Lux, Simon, Cutty, Hazel, even Agatha...and the host of other friends.

It took him a moment to realise that Ian and AJ had not yet gotten in with him and Benny. There was Ian standing by the carriage entrance but AJ... oh there she was. Adi spotted her as he stood at the entrance. WHAT was she doing, flailing her hands at the thestral?

"Oy! AJ! Leave the invisible unicorn alone.'' Hehe. The Hufflepuff and his habit of making up stuff to tell AJ. He hoped she would be too distracted by the word 'unicorn' to notice Benny said Thestral.

It seemed that his tapping had attracted the presence of the boy that Chance had met on the train. Chance had been looking around when he had heard a voice rather close, and looked up to see the boy, and his eyes fixed on his fingers, a look of annoyance on his face. "Oh hi! Yes, no bother. Come sit!" He said letting one of his arms drop from the side of the carriage. "Sorry about the tapping. Im rather excited to get back to Hogwarts. It is rubbish to have to wait all summer just to go back!"

Chance put a hand out for the boy to shake. "I'm Chance Coeur." He said, his chest pressed out as if he was proud of the name. It wasn't like the boy would know who he was, but he had gotten into it with a 7th year Slytherin last year, and he had the scar to prove it. He had been holding his own when the boy slash him across the eye. Now he had a lined scar right across his eye. He was proud of it though. Battle scar. Besides, it would give him brownie points with the ladies.

He did indeed have lots of hair. And he was a musician. "You sure you can't read minds?" Dylan asked with a laugh as he nodded. "Yeah, I am a musician. And I do indeed have quite a bit of hair..." he smiled.

Benny was speaking. AJ turned her head in his direction while her arms were still flailing about. Just as she was about to open her mouth to speak, her hand made contact with something solid. She jumped back. There was something there. There was something there that she couldn't see. Oh right, Benny brought her back to planet earth. "A thestral, right. I remember learning about them last year." Did that mean that Benny could see them? She was pretty sure that you had to see somebody die in order to actually see the creatures, and that made her curious. It was something that she wouldn't bring up though. Not now.

Adi was joking with her again, and that brought a goofy grin to her face. Without hesitation AJ hopped into the carriage and sat practically on top of Adi. He was just going to have to forget about ignoring her. AJ wasn't going anywhere. She lifted her right hand and ruffled his hair. "Are there even such things as invisible unicorns?" Her nose was just inches from his, and her eyes were bright. "Cause if they exist I REALLY want one of those too. I mean they have to be super cool." Could she have one? Pretty please!!!

His thoughts of creatures of death and probably impending boom disappeared for a second though, because KITTEN talk!! And AND KITTEN!! The boy reached for the tiny creature, taking it right from Dot's hands and snuggling it. IT WAS SO CUTE!!!!! It made Kyroh wish even MORE than his papa had let him bring his cat to Hogwarts. "We should call him Fluffy!! Like the three headed dog that used to live at Hogwarts. It was ferocious-" He tried to snarl but it was hard with the kitten right against his cheek. "-and it liked classical music." SO THERE! "Unless you don't want to call him Fluffy. Then you can call him Lancelot." But THAT was always a good name. Right up there, next to Bruce Wayne.

As he continued to cuddle Fluffy Lancelot Bruce Wayne the kitten another boy entered the carriage! "Hii!! I don't think we mind. I don't mind. But I can't read Dot's brain to tell if she minds. Though there's no such thing really as mind reading." Mind reading to tell if someone minded. But look! Now she was over on his side!

"You have lots of hair. Are you a musician?"

"Thanks," he said, taking a seat across from the two. "I'm Dylan, by the way." he added after the silence that followed. Heh. As he sat there, he noticed the kitten in the boy's arms. OOOH it was so cute! Dylan LOVED cats...hence the orange cat sitting in his own lap. "What's the cat's name?" he asked, gesturing to the adorable lil' fluffball in the guy's arms.

He did indeed have lots of hair. And he was a musician. "You sure you can't read minds?" Dylan asked with a laugh as he nodded. "Yeah, I am a musician. And I do indeed have quite a bit of hair..." he smiled.

Kyroh didn't see Duke Bony Butt? Dot leaned again, just to make sure there was something there, and then pulled puzzled faces at her friend. Was it a joke? Was she crazy? Or was... it something else? "I see a Thackery."

It made her just SWELL with pride that Kyroh (and Dylan) were impressed with her new kitten, and Dot sat up a little straighter and shoved back her red hair to watch the kitten-love happening. "Doesn't have a name yet. He can visit you when you need someone to hug, ok?" She hoped her kitten allowed hugging, 'cause it was going to happen.

After AJ had done her absolute best to anger the thestral pulling their carriage (and they hadn't even gotten on yet) he watched as she pulled herself in and put her face right next to Adi's. It was a little disconcerting but then he heard what she was saying to him with the excitement of a little girl as he hoisted himself into the carriage. He started laughing about the idea of invisible unicorns. Especially since he knew how badly she wanted one. He wanted to tell her there was no such thing, but his belly began to hurt from laughter as he watched her trying to pester Adi about make believe unicorns you couldn't see.

He raised an eyebrow as Adi attempted humor at the situation just as the girl jumped back, apparently finding something. Yes...invisible unicorns indeed. Benny wasn't going to argue though since both answers were out in the air for AJ to hear it was up to her how to react to the information being given to her. Yet it seemed she did remember something from the lesson, the fourth year suddenly wondering if she would put two and two together. The boy deciding to look away from her and the creature both.

Maybe best to move on...eh?

Yet the two were now back to their playful actions from back on the train and Benny shifted in his seat. Was it any wonder people like he and Angel noticed something might be up between them by the way they acted. Thinking again on Angel, he swallowed willing himself to distraction. "Dragons are cooler...." he mused, still looking mostly away.

Well, Adi could have always hoped unicorns would distract AJ but not this time. And then she was practically leaping into the carriage, almost knocking him over. He staggered back into his seat, totally taken aback. Once again, Adi was aware of how close the were sitting and their faces were inches apart. It reminded him of that day in Sugarplums and he vaguely wondered if she wanted him to kiss her again. Best stay clear of that.

"I see someone's happy I'm not ignoring them,'' he said trying to make light of the situation. Besides, AJ would have noticed him being all quiet for part of the journey. The Puffer grinned at the hair ruffle. He liked those. "Of course not. But I'd get you one anyway.'' He stuck out his tongue. "We'll give a regular unicorn and feed it an Invisible potion, if there's such a thing or use a spell. Or get a really big Invisibility Cloak and cover it up. How does that sound?''

Adi cast Ian an amused look as he killed himself with laughter. "Having a good time there, Ian?'' Hehe. Then he turned to Benny. "Dragons are cool but we all know Hippogriffs are the coolest.'' Yup.

Benny seemed to get uncomfortable every time that AJ and Adi had their special moments. In the beginning she thought that it was just because he was a reserved guy, but now she had a feeling that it had everything to do with Angel. Here she was looking just like the girl, and AJ was sure that Benny wished that crazy Angel was all over him like normal. Perhaps Angel was keeping Abby company. AJ had no idea why her sister wasn't here, but she had a feeling that it had something to do with the lion sitting across from her. AJ would get to the bottom of this once they were all squared away in their dorms. Angel wouldn't be able to escape her there.

"It's not like you could ignore me for long. I am too much fun to not be around." It was true. "Besides you had no reason to ignore me in the first place." Regardless of what Adi may think. She could feel the twinkle in her eye when Adi said that he would get her one. "Really?" AJ threw her arms around him, and gave him a hug. Releasing her grip slightly, she still held on to both arms. "I really want a unicorn farm, but--- THERE'S GOTTA BE A POTION WE CAN USE." Intense much? "That's brilliant, Adi. I want an invisible unicorn... or better yet a unicorn that I can make invisible whenever I want." This was awesome. This was better than she ever expected. She couldn't wait to tell Zander.

Her eyes were still slightly glazed over when she looked at Ian. He was having a complete fit. "Think I'm funny, do ya?" Then the conversation turned to other cool magical creatures. "Unicorns are the best, but I think Hippogripps are pretty cool. I mean, you can ride them while they fly." Pause. "Can we give my invisible unicorn a flying potion too?" This was too much. EEP! "Ian, what's your favorite animal?"

True. Adi could not go long without talk and joking with AJ. It was really a torture having to stay away from her last term. It was not something he was keen on repeating so he was mighty glad they were joking around again.

Woah! WOAH! Her arms were around him in a hug for a few seconds and then they lingered there. Not that Adi minded. "We'll see what we can do,'' he said smiling as he leaned his forehead against AJ's. Gosh, could she feel all the love he had for her as they were so close? Anyway, a unicorn farm didn't sound bad. He did plan on having loads of Hippogriffs one day so why not unicorns too?

An invisible, flying Unicorn. Adi was highly amused at the idea. AJ's unicorn obsession knew no bounds. "We can work on that, too. Anything for you.''

Ian continued to laugh as she went from invisible unicorns to a unicorn farm. It was even better when she said Hippogripps. He just couldn't stop now. He started laughing uncontrollably. Hipp.....o....gripps.... He started to feel tears running down his cheeks as he thought what a hippogripp must look like. He kind of heard her ask a question, but couldn't quite make out what she had said.

The Gryffindor slowly made his way over to get into the carriage, and smiled shyly at the boy already in it. Oh no! Did he hear the sigh because it totally wasn't because of the tapping, actually Zander thought it was kinda funny. Really it was because he thought that he was just hearing the tapping in his head... But thankfully that wasn't the case. "Thanks," smiled the fourth year as he pulled himself into the carriage and sat right up across from this other guy. "I'm pretty excited too," could this guy tell? Did he NOTICE the smiling?? One great thing about the opening feast was the staff table because Beautiful Bentley of course!! It had been two? Three? WHOLE MONTHS since he got to see that beautiful angelic herbolog-etic? face. It was about time. Hmph. And he could prove Lux wrong too. So yes, tap away kid!! There is SO much to be excited about!

He was almost so lost in his thoughts about Beautiful Bentley, that he almost completely missed the hand in front of him. Oops. Almost. Luckily right when he saw it, he snapped out of his thoughts and met... Chance's hand with his own. "I'm Zander Adair," he tried to mimic that prideful chest thing Chance had going on, but that was a total fail. Besides, that Coeurerer name thing was probably all fancy in the wizard world, whereas the Adair's were only known within their neighborhood, if even that far. But back to Chance. The guy looked kind of familiar, but Zander couldn't place the face... "What-uh- year are you in, Chance?" Because he definitely didn't look like a firstie. Unless the firsties really actually grew this year, which was unlikely because Kyroh didn't even look that much taller and he was a second year now.

At least they were moving now, which was a sign they were one step closer to the castle that was home during the term. And one step closer to Gryffindor house with their table in the Great Hall and the tower where one might have a better chance of finding a certain someone eventually and perhaps straighten things out. At least give her the plant that was hers since he wasn't about to keep it when he had his topiary from two terms before.

Listening to the continued talk of unicorns, Benny opted to stay in the conversation. It was a distraction at least."Maybe try a disillusionment spell," he suggested when the mention of making invisible unicorns came into play. It worked on flying horses to make sure they weren't seen by muggles, why couldn't it work on a unicorn. No doubt easier than trying to feed a unicorn a potion. That was all after one got a unicorn in the first place. Somehow, the elder lion could see her searching high and low for one of the creatures.

He stuck his tongue out at his friend when Adi brought hippogriffs into the mix. Sure they were cool but not the favorite in his mind. Not like how his bestie felt about them. AJ then asked Ian what his favorite animal was and while she waited for an answer, the idea drifted back to Angel. Benny knew what her sister's favorite animal was, she and Adi were rather obvious about it. And he knew Adi's for as long as he knew the Hufflepuff. But he didn't know Angel's.

Cue sigh. Why was he back to this?

When Adi put his forehead to hers she felt a tingle in her belly. Her eyes found his, and they were so close that she could see every detail of his eyes. They were actually really nice. AJ savored the moment, and once again her mind went wild. All this time she had been denying having any sort of feelings for Adi, but maybe that just wasn't true. AJ believed that Adi would go to any lengths to get her a unicorn. "Thanks," she whispered just inches from his lips.

Anything for her. The words kept playing over and over in her head. Adi was such a good friend to her. "That would be SO awesome. Everybody will be jealous of my invisible unicorn that flies." As they should be. She squeezed his arms.

Ian's continuous laugh broke her out of her little Adi bubble. "You can come visit my farm anytime you like." Did hippogripps and unicorns even get along? Surely there was a potion for that too. AJ made a mental note to stop by the potions professor's office to get some guidance.

Benny was always the voice of reason. "That does seem easier... I'll just have to learn how to cast the charm." Yeah, she wasn't so good with spell work in case nobody had noticed.

He was looking back at her, directly in her eyes. Adi always thought AJ had pretty eyes and knew that he could stare into them all day. He smiled. "Thank me when you've got that invisible, flying unicorn,'' he replied, suddenly aware that her lips seemed to be even closer to his. But still he held out on laying one on her. "Everyone would be,'' he agreed. "You'll be pretty famous.'' Benny's idea did sound really good. "I like Benny's idea. We'll put a disillusionment charm on your unicorns, AJ.''

Ohh, Ian and him had the same favourite creatures. How cool! "You never told me you liked Hippogriffs too, Ian.'' He said that as if all his friends should go around telling him his favourite creatures. Hehe. "Ever ridden one?''

Despite being occupied with AJ, Adi could see something was bothering poor Benny. He had saw and heard the sigh and figured his best friend must be missing Angel. He cast him a sympathetic look. "You'll see her at the Feast,'' was all he said.

Well, this summer was an extremely huge emotional roller coaster for this newly fresh seventh year. There's the magic words, though. Seventh. Year. Also known as his last year and the it's going to be the best year. Why? Because it is, by default, suppose to the best year. He was going to enjoy his last moments as a careless teenager because just as soon as this year is over, his next mission is to be the very best. The very best artist at whatever university he gets into, that is.

It seemed he had lost his girlfriend in the rushing crowd of students trying to make it off the train. Declan circled his head around looking for a familiar dome in the sea of wizardly heads. No luck. She was tiny after all. He'll just catch up with her at the feast. Yeah, good.

So, up he went onto the nearest carriage, squeezing himself into a corner seat and leaning his arms on the edges. His lanky arms and legs had to fit somehow. Sorry about that, kids.

Ian tried to control himself. He heard Adi say they had the same favorite creatures, but he knew that wasn't right. Adi liked hippogryffs. Ian liked fwoopers. He shook his head no. As cool as the hippogryffs are, I like fwoopers. I read about them a couple years ago. Oh! And giants. I like giants. Especially hill giants. Poor misunderstood creatures. Ian looked between Benny and the other two and noticed they were kinda close. Ummm...I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but I imagine if a professor saw you like that, it would be the dungeons for you. Not that he cared one bit about the dungeons, it just bothered him for some reason that AJ was that close to Adi.

AJ nodded. He did have a point. There was no sense in thanking him just yet when she still wasn't the proud owner of a unicorn. She would even settle for a plain ol' unicorn. They could fancy it up later. Getting the unicorn at all was going to be the hard part. The last time she tried to snag one she had been threatened with detention for the rest of her Hogwarts life. Well, for the whole term. "You mean even more famous." Because she was a force to be reckoned with now. Disillusionment charm it was. "I can practice my spell work while loving on my unicorn." It was a win-win.

AJ was going to be so jealous if Ian had managed to ride a Hippogriff. It was something that AJ wanted to do ever since the lesson with the creatures. That had to happen before her hogwarts career was over. She really didn't think that it was too much to ask.

It was really sad to see Benny like this over Angel. So much had changed this past year. "Yeah, you have nothing to worry about." The lion didn't know that for sure, but she wasn't going to admit that to Benny right now when he looked completely down. There wouldn't be any hiding at the feast because there was nowhere to go. Angel was going to have to face Benny whether she liked it or not, and AJ wanted to be there to creep.

Then Ian mentioned how close Adi and AJ were, and something about dungeons. Blink, blink. AJ pulled away, but only because she wanted to look Ian fully on. "Why would a professor care that I am close to Adi?" Were they doing something wrong here?

Abby had made her way out to the carriages and entered the first one and fixed her robes as she took a seat and hoped that somebody would join her soon

Samantha was placing a ribbon in her hair as she looked up and saw Abby sitting in one of the carriages. She walked over and sat down next to her. "Hello there," Samantha greeted with a smile. She was happy to have found a familiar face. Abby and her had gotten on tremendously well on the train and Sam was hoping to continue that friendship.

Cinna waited for Sophie to give her a answer. She could just hop on in. But she was wasn't rude like that. She smiled when she answered and scooted over. "Awesome." With another grin the fourth year hopped in and sat beside her. So Sophie she was right. Wow and Sophie knew her name?? Was that a good thing or a bad thing. She nodded. "Yes. I'm Cinna. Is that a good or a bad thing? Because now she was curious.

What? Sophie Newell a loser? NEVER! Wasn't she like the queen bee of the Slytherin 4th years or something like that. Gosh that kind of sounded rude. But to Cinna Sophie was no Loser. Shaking her head, "Me too. I wonder if anyone else will come along.?"

There were more people heading to the carriages now. The Gryffindor beamed once she saw Lux, her bestie coming. "Hey Lux!' She waved to her. She was wondering of anyone else would show up because right now she was really wanting to get up to the castle to eat and get a good seat for the feast.

Adi continued to look into AJ's eyes. "How many unicorns do you want, anyway?'' He knew those were the creatures that were hard to capture but maybe someone would come up with an easy way to do it sometime. Laughing, Adi said, "I didn't know you were already famous.'' More laughter. "Of course. And as usual, I'll help you with it.''

The Puffer stared at Ian. Giants? Hill Giants? Now there was something you don't hear everyday. "Fwoopers are pretty awesome. I'm not sure about giants though.'' Not that he had anything against giants.

Erm...what? It took Adi a moment to realise what Ian said. "There aren't Professors here,'' he said with a grin. But Adi was glad when AJ pulled away. Not because of getting detention or anything but because of the fact that he had told himself that he was just going to be AJ's friend and nothing more. That's what she wanted, right? "Don't be jealous,'' he added rather jokingly but having no idea how true his statement was.

Hogsmeade!

He can now finally breathe fresh air, get away from the concentrated noise inside the train, and STREEETCH. Merlin. Dante became heavier by the minute as he gave him a piggy back ride to amuse a bored first year, but that’s all gone now. He was free!

After seeing Dante rush off towards the Groundskeeper, who is…new by the way, he made his way down to the carriages, hoping to find Simon. Instead of seeing his best friend, he saw Sophie, Lux, and another girl he didn’t know. Ethan wore a grin on his face and approached the group. “Good evening, ladies! I hope you all had a pleasant train ride.” Because…he somewhat didn’t enjoy it. Patrolling was a form of work, and he’d rather be in one of the compartments, experimenting with his penny board.

“Mind if I join you?” There’s a plethora of carriages around, but he’d rather ride it with a group.

Sorry possible cool new guy. "You can only see a Thestral if you've witnessed someone die." The second year whispered as quietly as possible. That meant that Dot HAD y'know...seen someone die.

Kyroh nodded his head eagerly at Dylan as he continued to squish the kitten to his face. YEAH he was SURE. And he was also Kyroh. YUP. "Don't think anyone can read minds. My papa said that minds are too complicated for people to just read them." So no mind reading here. "I was just guessing 'cause your long hair. It was a difficult feat trying to keep all of your excitement and nerves contained within yourself when you'd been taught all your life that magic didn't exist. The trouble was, when you were fifteen and everyone else around you was acting like this was all completely normal, you didn't want to make an ignorant comment about the carriages with no horses and look utterly foolish in front of your new peers. But it was getting increasingly difficult to act like this was the norm..

Samson stood there looking like he was about to burst. Nervous energy surrounded the fifteen year old and he buried his hands in his pockets; lips pursed and a breath pulled in to stop himself from giggling excitedly like a first year muggleborn girl...

But try as he might, he could no longer contain it.

“There's nee horse power!” He blurted out loudly to the group of kids around him. A wide smile followed by that nervous fit of giggles shook their way from his throat and took him by surprise. What happened to the intended deep and manly guffaw..? “How'd they move with nee horses?”

What Samson didn't know, was that the carriages were pulled along by invisible forces. Or.. in this case, invisible horses. And even though he thought he already knew the answer, it just seemed too far fetched to believe without someone confirming it aloud:

Magic.

Science be damned! He couldn't wait to tell his mam all about this.

She knew he was coming yet it was still rather weird to see him stood there. A member of her own family. One that likely wouldn’t drop out like the rest of them had. He was stood next to a carriage which was seemingly pulled by nothing. She tilted her head to take it in, deciding that it was probably the Thestral creatures that she had read about in that textbook. Fantastic Beasts and where to find them? That sounded about right.

“I know you are a bizarre species of your own Samantha” she smirked, stepping forward to stand next to him. “But it really don’t help your situation standin’ there talkin’ to yourself you know?” A rare mischievous grin graced her face as she spoke. Weirdly Layla’s accent grew thicker amongst family as well, perhaps because she was comfortable speaking in her South London accent with those who also had a working class accent compared to all the posho’s that seemed to grace the school. It was a boarding school after all and Layla had never imagined herself in such a high class place. Sammy’s Geordie accent was on par with her London and she knew he wouldn’t judge her by her accent anyway.

She stepped up onto the carriage allowing her long legs to pull her up and into a seat. She stared down at her cousin and indicated to the seat opposite her with her foot. “Get up here, loser” she laughed before relaxing back on the seat and glancing towards the huge castle that they were travelling towards. It was weird. THAT would be their new home soon.

Angel wondered where she was going because well she wasn't a firstie anymore which meant that she wouldn't be going in the boats like she did last year. She looked around for some other form of transport. "So I take it we fly from here or something?" Angel asked no one in particular. She saw some old carriages that were abandoned. "unless the station master is going to get something to pull these carriages, like maybe a couple of unicorns or horses or something cool like that." Angel was totally confused now.

She knew he was coming yet it was still rather weird to see him stood there. A member of her own family. One that likely wouldn’t drop out like the rest of them had. The giggling had ceased but as Sammy turned to look at his cousin the remains of a smile had stayed put on is face. “I'm talkin' to these lovely people.” He gestured BIG to the folks of various ages and sizes around him, most of which he gangled awkwardly over. He was half tempted to get Layla in a headlock and ruffle her hair for the teasing.. but decided now wasn't an appropriate time..

Later then.

He didn't immediately follow Layla onto the carriage but instead pulled his camera from his messenger bag and took a photo of the carriages which seemingly had no way of moving. “For me mam.” And his da.. but his mother seemed almost as excited as he was about this whole 'Yer a wizard, Sammy.' thing..

He took a snap of Layla before he stepped up to join her, taking a seat and looking around, his gaze settling on the castle in the distance. “Grandiose.” He nodded at it, then he looked back to the front of the carriage. “Mehbees they're gonna attach the horses before we set off.” Maybe it was as dull as that.

Layla knew she had cut him off guard and she smirked in response. She and Sammy had an interesting relationship. It was full of banter, almost as if they were the siblings in the family and not she and her older brother Bradley. "And those lovely people ain't payin' any attention to you" she winked glancing at the groups of students who were speaking amongst themselves rather than talking back to Sam.

He started taking pictures and she watched him with an eyebrow raised. Until he explained his reasoning behind the weird behaviour. "I think I read somewhere that muggle technology don't work in the castle.." she spoke simply. Maybe? Who knew, this place was weird. "So good luck with that." Layla's parents had been through it all before with Bradley. They'd seen the street and waved him off at the station. They weren't excited in the slightest.

And then he took a photo of her. Layla rolled her eyes but smiled knowing that her aunt would like to see photos of her too. "Ain't ever been somewhere like this before.." she thought out loud, looking towards the castle as she spoke. "Not sure I want to either." Was kinda spooky. And old. Urgh, very old.

"The horses are there stupid" she pointed at the invisible space before them as the carriage then started to move. "And they're called Thestrals. They're invisible. You can only see them if you've seen someone die or somethin'. S'kinda creepy if you ask me." Urgh this school was turning out to be a creep-fest.

Abby smiled at Samantha and said "Hey there Samantha" Abby was glad to have some company

How many unicorns did she want? That wasn't something that she thought about because "the limit does not exist." Now that she could make them invisible there wasn't anything to keep the lion from unicorn hoarding. "I guess I'll just see how it goes. I mean, I have yet to even get one yet." She needed a constant supply of babies though... so at least a male and a female to start out.

"Well I am." Maybe not super famous, but a lot of people did know her at hogwarts, and that was kind of the same thing. Adi was ever helpful. "I know you will." The smile would not leave her face.

Jealous? AJ laughed at the comment that Adi made. She knew that he was only joking, and she hoped that Ian knew that. There was nothing to be jealous of... they were just three friends having a good laugh.

Then AJ heard a voice outside that could only belong to her sister. She hopped up and hung her head out the carriage. "Angel, in here!" They were already moving, but they hadn't made it that far. She could jog and catch up with them. AJ gave Benny a smirk. His woman was here.

Samantha tightened her hair ribbon so that her hair was now in a high ponytail. "The train journey certainly was quick!" she exclaimed. Samantha had a calm demeanour on the outside but inside she was jumping up and down eager to attend the start of term feast. She gazed in the general direction of the Thestrals though she couldn't see them as she had been fortunate to not have witness the passing of someone she loved.

But it was probably just as well given the lameness of his question teamed with the even lamer giggles. How was Layla so calm and collected about this? They were magical. They could DO magic! It was the single greatest thing in the history of EVER.

“Well they should be.” He murmured, his pride dented a little. “Do y'ever get sick of bein' reet?” He looked up at Layla in the carriage.

But he HAD read a few things about what to expect at Hogwarts and he knew fine well about magic and how it interfered with technology.. or something like that. After he'd climbed into the carriage, he showed Layla his camera. A vintage, clunky old thing. “Me da gave it me. Been in the family for years or sommat. It's propa old.. an' it takes propa film.” He dug into his bag and took out one of the many rolls of spare film he'd brought. “They need to be developed in a dark room. It's really cool. Everything comes out allll atmospheric an' artistic.” He grinned at his cousin. No luck needed here, pet.

He looked towards the castle again. “I've been to Edinburgh castle. Weren't a soddin' patch on this place, like.” No way! This was all completely mental. “Cheer up, Lala. We're gonna be livin' in a castle. Like royalty.”

Wayhey! They were moving. And there were no horses. Or.. there were according to Layla here. How'd she know so much? What? “You can only see them if you witness someone die?” He repeated flatly. He had to agree that, although it was cool, it was also creepy. “So if I hoyed ye over the side, they'd mysteriously appear to me?” Ah man, he wanted to see them.

Ian nodded as Adi heard him mention the hill giants. Aye. I like them. I think too many wizards write them off as dumb, brutish creatures but I consider them misunderstood. And who doesn't like a fwooper?

Ian looked at his feet at AJ's question and Adi's mention of jealousy. He felt a twinge of regret in his belly, but he stood firm nonetheless. Regardless of professors being around. You guys are kind of close to one another, and I don't know how others might perceive that. It could be miscategorized as PDA. Just don't want my friends getting in trouble when they could avoid it.

Ian took a deep breath when he heard AJ call for Angel. It was a welcome distraction and a moment for him to be able to collect his thoughts. What was wrong with him? AJ and Adi weren't doing anything wrong. It just made him feel that way. He smiled at his friends, waiting for Angel to join the carriage.

''You'll be the most famous girl with all those unicorns then. Somehow, I can see you having a thousand.'' Hehe. Maybe more. "Well, there's still loads of time. Plus I'm here. I'll get you those unicorns.'' Er...hopefully. LOL. Maybe he shouldn't give her hope in case he disappointed her but it was AJ. He would always do whatever he could for her. Still, he was curious about it. "If I don't get you one, would you hate me?''

''Yeah, you're right, Ian.'' Adi settled back in his seat. It was AJ who had started it all again and Adi just couldn't figure out what she wanted. Maybe she liked being close to him but hated him snogging her. Ugh! It was so confusing.

Angel? Did AJ just say Angel? Adi hurriedly shoved his head out of the carriage. "Yo, Angel! You can still catch up with us. Come on! Benny needs cheering up.'' Hehe. There would be just enough room for Angel. She was only a second year and still sort of small.

Angel was just about to sit down on the station floor and wait for a taxi, the bus or whatever it was when suddenly AJ and Adi was shouting at her from a moving carriage, now she had a choice to make stay here standing on the spot or go and try and catch up with them.

"Oh bother, why did she have to speak so loud." Angel had been avoiding all her friends because she had been in a mood lately and now AJ and Adi was calling at her.

"I'll meet you at Hogwarts." Angel shouted back at her sister, but you could tell she was in a mood, she knew if AJ was there Adi and Benny would be there as well and well she didn't want to speak to Ben at the minute.

She got into a free carriage, wondering who would join her and show her how to make the thing go, was it like Santa did with his reindeer or was it some other way like a secret button that needed to be pressed. "Okay how does this thing work?" Angel sighed as she looked around the carriage for secret buttons that would make jet skies or something appear."

All AJ could do was blink and stare at Ian. Was he lecturing them? She knew that he came from a good place, but AJ hated being told what to do. Her and Angel had several fights over just that. "Good looking out Ian." He meant well, and AJ was not about to have any more issues before she even arrived at Hogwarts. It probably was better that she kept her space from Adi, even if she didn't want to. Why did she push him away when he kissed her again?

The laughing continued. "I can give out unicorn rides." The unicorns probably wouldn't like that at all. She would just have to train them well. "I'll have to charge more for the boys considering unicorns don't really care for them." It only made sense. "Pinky promise?" AJ held out her pinky expectantly. There would be no take backs if they locked fingers. Hate him? "I could never hate you." No matter what happened between them, she couldn't see that happening.

Why didn't Angel want to join them? Oh right, Benny. Well... this was awkward. She was sure that this would do absolutely nothing to improve her fellow lion's mood. AJ had half a nerve to jump out of this carriage and drag her sister to them. That would only cause problems though, and AJ wasn't in the mood for another fight. Instead of answering AJ just waved. Angel was going to get interrogated when the feast was over. IF she even gave her that long. AJ sat back down next to Adi. She was still sitting close to him with her leg touching his. The only difference this time was that her face was not in his.

Ian felt a 'little' guilty for his statement to AJ and Adi. Why did it matter to him that they were close together? Isn't that what friends did? Be silly when they could. Of course she was a girl, but what did that matter? Ian sank a little into a mood. It was weird, and he wasn't particularly fond of it. It seemed things had changed for him when AJ had mentioned his strong arms in the candy shop. She didn't mean anything by it, but it had made him feel good. He kind of liked that. He didn't like this feeling. Especially since it involved his buddy Adi.

AJ started talking about unicorn rides and Ian almost felt bad for Adi. Here he was promising the world (or at least a unicorn farm) to AJ and Ian knew that wasn't going to happen. The wizarding world would NEVER stand for a unicorn farm. How do you hide a blooming unicorn farm from muggles? Of course muggles as a lot were blind as bats when it came to magical things, but still. That really was flaunting it. THEN AJ mentioned charging more for boys for unicorn rides. Not that HE wanted to ride a unicorn. That would be silly. If you want to ride something, ride a thestral, that was cool. Not any silly unicorns.

Ian looked out the carriage, but didn't see Angel. He wondered what happened to her and how that made Benny feel.

Adi poked AJ. "Don't be mad at Ian, AJ. He was only looking out for us.'' He could hear a bit of the edge in her voice and he knew very well she hated being bossed around. He looked at the other Hufflepuff. "Don't want to get into trouble. Prefect and all.'' He mumbled that last bit, not wanting to seem as if he were showing off.

The Hufflepuff stared at AJ's pinky. How could he promise that? It might never happen. So, in a gentle voice he said, "I can't promise anything. The most I can promise is that I will try my best.'' He was being very much honest here. But he couldn't help but laugh at her idea with the fees. "You'll get rather rich too.'' Oh goody. She wouldn't hate him. That made Adi feel relieved.

Adi just stared out in disappointment at Angel. He did miss the crazy Valentine girl and he did want Benny to cheer up but he knew they all would see her in a short while. Benny just needed to keep his head up for a while longer.

All of a sudden Ian went quiet. There wasn't anymore laughter and he seemed, like Adi did earlier, to be lost in thought. Since when were boys so moody? "Everything okay, Ian?" Did her words come out too harsh? She really didn't intend for that to happen.

Apparently she had been a bit snippy because Adi was commenting on it as well. "I'm not mad at Ian." She didn't like to be bossed around, but she wasn't mad. A snort escaped her lips before she could control it. "Not going to take points away from me are you, Mr. prefect?" She was only joking of course. "Do you have that kind of power?" She knew that they could tattle on you, but could they actually take points?

He totally left her hanging on the pinky promise. Her hand slowly fell to her lap. "Oh." Was all that she could say. How disappointing. AJ would be getting a unicorn with or without help from anyone.

Ian was grateful his friend was sticking up for him. Of course, his intentions were NOWHERE near as altruistic as Adi was making them out to be, but even Ian was trying to work through why he was reacting this way. He listened to Adi try to lower AJ's expectations about unicorn farms and Ian nodded in agreement.

Listen to him. Unicorns don't just go prancing about for our amusement. Plus, there's loads of other magical creatures that are better than unicorns. Ian kind of knew this would get AJ's dander up, and for some strange reason, he was ready to pick a bit of a fight. Her flippant response to his trying to separate AJ and Adi had wounded him some bit and he wanted to wound her back. Of course unicorns were majestic, noble creatures but that didn't take the need to wound back from him.

Having said that, Ian folded his arms in front of him and pouted in his corner of the carriage.

He knew her very well and he wasn't afraid to let her know he knew her. Even though that might creep someone out a bit.

"I wish,'' the new Prefect said jokingly. "But unfortunately we don't have that privilege. Otherwise you'd have lost quite an amount of points for sending me on an emotional roller coaster.'' That wouldn't even be a valid reason for taking points but of course he was joking.

"Don't look so disappointed. You know I'll help you get unicorns. I just don't want to make a promise that I might end up not being able to keep. Then you'd hate me for sure.''

Ian was annoying her. She continued to stare at him, and before she could control it, her eyes narrowed a bit. "I don't even know why you have your knickers in a twist. I wasn't being mean when I said that you were looking out for us." She may have come across short, but she didn't mean to. He, however was NOT going to insult her beautiful, majestic, and FAVORITE creature of all time. "There's nothing cooler than a unicorn, Ian... NOTHING." Did she have to go on a rant about how their hair was as soft as a babies bottom? Because she would.

Adi was SUCH a prefect. Here he was trying to make peace between them. AJ didn't even have a problem, but for whatever reason Ian wanted to pick a fight with her. Whoa... did Adi know her or what? "Yeah, what he said." Emotional roller coaster? "I didn't... I'm sorry. You should just forget whatever I said." Because not even she was sure if she still believed that. She nodded at Adi. "I know you will. You are such a good friend."

These boys were being some serious mopers and AJ had enough. It was not fair that Angel was able to have peace and quiet while AJ was dealing with this. You know what... AJ was NOT going to wait for the dorms. Angel was going to stop ignoring her and Benny, and she was going to stop now!

No warning was given that something was about to go down. AJ stood up and jumped from the carriage. She marched right over to the carriage that she saw her sister get in and climbed into it. The lion walked up and grabbed her sister by the arm. "No more ignoring me, Angel. Let's go." She wasn't asking for permission. The boys managed to get her in a foul mood, and she was sick of the drama. It was going to end now.

Woah, woah, WOAH! Adi stared at AJ. He knew she could loose her temper but it always surprised him when she did. "AJ, calm down. I dunno what's wrong with Ian but just calm down.'' Adi glared at Ian. Why did he have to go insulting the unicorns? This added to what happened between him and AJ earlier was definitely the cause of her anger. He tentatively reached out and held her hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze.

"Don't worry about it.'' He knew he wouldn't be able to forget what had been said by her but as confused and disappointed as he was, he wouldn't mope about it. He grinned now. "I'm the best, aren't I?"

Adi was in for another surprise for when AJ sprang up and jumped from their moving carriage, he was speechless. "AJ!'' he shouted. He glared after her. Supposed she had gotten hurt when she jumped? He knew she was going for Angel and as much as he wanted to see his other friend, that didn't stop him from being angry at AJ.

Angel was busy looking for the switch to get the thing going when suddenly someone was grabbing her arms. "HEY GET OFF!!" Angel looked up as she saw her sister, she wasn't going anywhere. "Why don't you go back on your own?" Angel stared at her sister she was in such a bad mood. "Seriously just leave me alone." Angel wasn't going anywhere with her sister.

Angel stared daggers at AJ. "I ain't ignoring you anyway, what gave you that idea?" Angel really had been but there was no need for her sister to know that was there. She didn't want the constant remarks about her and Benny or the fact that Benny probably hated her after what happened this summer with the kiss. "LEAVE ME ALONE!!" Angel glared at AJ.

Ian saw he had hit a sore spot and it gave him a momentary bit of satisfaction. He almost grinned because he knew he'd found a way to get some emotion from her. Loving unicorns is for babies. Mature people like better animals and I can't imagine anyone with sense wanting to have a unicorn farm Just then, Adi decided to give him an ugly face and Ian had had enough of this sort of behavior from his 'friend'. Here he'd know Adi 2 whole years longer and he was taking a girl's side. And a gryffindor against a housemate. What kind of prefect behavior was that.

I'll tell you what's got me all twisted. You are a HUFFLEPUFF prefect and here you are off snogging a gryffindor and the both of you try to act like nothing's happened. I don't know what has happened to the both of you, but it's kind of off for neither one of you to consider how it makes others feel to see you OH SO LOVEY DOVEY. I mean look at poor Benny over there. He looks as uncomfortable as a dark wizard in front of the Wizengamot and here you two are babbling about after invisible unicorn farms! Ian was well and rightly unhappy now and so he'd had enough. He hopped off his carriage and jumped onto the next one on. He looked around and noticed Abby and some other girl he didn't know. He sat down, crossed his arms and turned away from them.

"I am calm." Well, not really, but she wasn't at full crazy mode yet. There were just so many things going on in her head that she couldn't take any more. AJ had yet to sort any of her feelings, and that alone was making her on edge.

The lion could hear the sadness in his voice. She really wished that she hadn't pushed him away, and that she didn't say those things, but there was no taking it back now. All she could do from here on out would be to show him that she didn't mean it. Actions always spoke louder than words.

Then Ian flat blew up. "I'll show you a baby." AJ walked over to him and stomped on his toes. "You don't talk crazy to me or Adi. He is a brilliant prefect, and there is NO reason to be jealous of our friendship. If you have a problem then just come out and say it before you go all psycho." She was livid. "And for the record we haven't been snogging." Yeah, they had kissed, but that didn't count as snogging. Plus, how did Ian even know? "Don't you dare bring Benny into this." That was her friend that he was talking about. Ian didn't even know Benny. Then he left. Good riddance.

"I'm not going back without you." Her sister had been caught up in her own world that she didn't even realize that things were going on with her too. "C'mon Angel. Jump on the count of 3." Because she was going to that other carriage with her.

Angel just glared at her sister but allowed herself to be dragged from the carriage she was in, seriously what was wrong with her sister, was she crazy or something. "I have not been ignoring you!" Angel lied again as she glared at her sister as she then heard what her sister said. It seemed like she had no choice but to jump with her sister, when her sister was ready because well her sister still had hold of her arms.

Ian was now in full on red-head Scotsman mode. He was about to get on some more, but then AJ came over and STOMPED....HIS....TOES! UNACCEPTABLE! he screamed out about it. ANd then she started her verbal attack. He shoved his hands in his robe pockets and felt the worn wood. However, when she said they hadn't been snogging, well then, he knew that was a lie. He'd walked in on them more than one time, he just hadn't said anything obvious, giving them a chance to cover it up. He started screaming back at her accusations. WHEN DO I EVER GET A CHANCE TO SPEAK TO THE BOTH OF YOU ALONE? YOU HAVEN'T BEEN ALONE WITH ME SINCE BEFORE LAST TERM WAS OVER! Before he knew it, his wand was out and pointed at AJ's back before she jumped off the carriage and he cast the bat-bogey hex.

As he walked to the next carriage, the tears started to fill the edges of his eyes, but he wiped them away best he could. He knew he'd done something awful and he couldn't take it back because everyone had stormed off.

AJ and Adi had seemingly noticed Angel and were trying to get her to join their carriage but it seemed Angel was having none of it. Well that was just fine. No point in making things more awkward in the carriage. Not with Adi and Angel AND Ian who was creating a real ruckas all on his own. However the Valentine sister with them wasn't giving up and had moved to retrieve Angel from the other carriage.

Okay this was crazy and Benny had no clue as to what to do.

Especially as Ian brought him into the ...yeah he'd call it fight by now. AJ defending him as a fellow lion and he supposed a friend. Benny himself was still at a loss until he noticed Ian slip out his wand and point it at the younger Gryffindor. His own out a moment later.

"PROTEGO!" he cast over AJ in hopes of blocking the hex.

Oh dear Merlin. This was NOT how Adi had planned to start off his fourth year and as a prefect too. Breaking up a fight between his friends. Despite all the chaos, he was still calm and doing his best to cool the fire. But Ian just made things worst.

"Ian, shut up. You're going to make her even more angry.'' Adi tried to keep a hold on AJ's hand as he spoke to Ian in a firm voice. Inside, he was fuming though. How dare he drag up his and AJ's relationship like that. If Ian didn't approve of the way they acted all he had to do was say so. Not go on and blow up in their faces. And his and AJ's babbling happened to be mostly jokes. They joked with each other. It didn't matter to them what they spoke about.

Uh oh. AJ did get angrier. "AJ, no!'' Adi called out trying to grab her hand as he stormed for Ian. But it was too late. There were the stomps on Ian's toes. "AJ, that was uncalled for.'' Sure Ian had baited her but she could have handled the situation better. "Come on. Sit down. Breathe.'' He really did appreciate her sticking up for him and Benny like that though. "Thanks for saying I'm a brilliant prefect,'' he said, smiling faintly and easing her back onto a seat.

Adi turned back to Ian. "I don't know what's gotten into you, Ian,'' he said coldly. "But if you keep this up, I'll have to report you.'' He glanced at AJ. "You too, AJ.'' They were both his friends and though it pained him to tell them about reporting them, he was being fair. Also, he was seeing a different side of Ian he did not like very much.
.....................

Ugh! This was getting worse. Now Ian had jumped out of the carriage. Good thing it was moving slowly. And then... O_O Why was Ian pointing his wand at AJ? Oh no! That was the incantation for the Bat Boogey Hex! But the bestie came to the rescue. Or so Adi hoped. Would Benny's shield charm save AJ?

Noel was tired, or maybe just a little wheezy because he hadn't eaten anything on the train in hopes of eating butt loads at the feast. Dragging his feet to the carriages, the boy got in where he a hufflepuff girl with that prefect badge - one similar to Lex's.

Chance shook hands with him and smiled. "Zander. Nice name!" He noticed Zander had stuck out his chest too and Chance wondered if he was big time in the wizarding world. If he was like Chance he wasn't. Chance hadn't even known there was a Hogwarts not but 4 years ago. Moving pictures and moving staircases still made him ponder.

"I'm a fourth year!" Chance said nodding at Zander. "Yea it's been a first tough couple years but I'm getting the ham of this magic thig by now." He said with a chuckle. "Only a few mishaps here and there." He pointed to his eye. "battle scar." He shrugged and then looked back at Zander. "What about you? I feel like I've seen you around so you must not be a firstie."

The sensation of her hand being squeezed was barely registered because she was fuming. Adi was trying his best to diffuse the situation, but AJ was having a hard time keeping a level head. It was one thing to insult her beloved unicorns, but an entirely different thing to drag in her friends, especially Adi. Breathe. She should do that, but she was unable to calm down.

Adi had managed to get her to sit for all of five seconds before Ian got what was coming to him. He had practically begged her to stomp on his toes. If anything he was lucky that was all she did. Then Adi said that he would report Ian if things didn't settle down. "Yeah." Her man... erm friend, had power. Then she shook her head to clear her ears. Surely she didn't hear him right. "Report me?" For stomping toes? She blew out air, and sat down beside Adi. "I'm sorry. I know your a prefect, and I'm not making your job any easier." That was not intentional.

Ian started going on about never getting alone time with her. "So that's the problem then... you are jealous that you don't get to spend alone time with me?" That was the wrong way to go about getting some, buddy.

------------------------------

As she hopped off the carriage to get Angel, AJ heard a hex being casted at her, and while her back was turned. "Coward," she hollered. It was thanks to Benny that she could even yell out at all. He had saved her. She wasn't even sure what that jinx would have done to her. "Nice save, Benny."

Angel was putting up a good fight, but she was finally seeing reason. "I knew you'd see things my way, sis." AJ held on the to her sister's hand tight. "One... two... three." Still holding on tight she jumped with her sister and started to lightly jog the slight distance between the two carriages.

"We need to talk," she whispered. Nothing else that Angel was saying was registering at the moment. Once they got close to the original carriage she was in, AJ hopped in once more, and held a hand out for Angel.

Angel watched as her sister hopped in and held out a hand, Angel took it and then hopped onto the carriage with them, she then went and sat down and didn't say another word, nope she was still sulking about the fact AJ had made her miss her chance of finding the jet ski's for the carriage she was in and she still wasn't in a talkative mood.

Ian heard Adi say something about being reported, but that ship had sailed. He wasn't really in a listening mood anymore. It was like this sometimes with his dad. His dad was very stoic, but when he got upset with Ian or the crew, watch out!. Ian had never really lashed out at anyone like this and if he had been thinking, he would have realized his approach was most likely counter-productive. Counter-productive to what, he wouldn't know but this was not the best way to make things happen. On top of that, he was yelling one of his best friends over nothing. It was a stupid unicorn farm.

Unfortunately, there was NO thinking going on with Ian right now. He was in the moment, and the moment was red hot and fiery red-head. He wasn't going to back down a step. He certainly wouldn't hit a girl with his fist. That was unacceptable, but that didn't mean he didn't have other things at his disposal and his best weapon was words. Words started coming out again, and they started coming out loud. I DON'T KNOW IF I'M JEALOUS! BEFORE TODAY, IT WAS JUST FUN AND SILLINESS. NOW IT'S NOT THAT WAY ANYMORE AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE IT. OF COURSE YOU'RE ALL BOTHERED BY SILLY UNICORN FARMS AND MAKING LOVEY FACES AT ADI AND HE'S ALL, OH AJ...I'LL GET YOU WHATEVER YOU WANT! I'M A PREFECT, LAA-DEE-DA! Ian sat back down, ran his hands through his hair and tried to figure out what to do. He'd made a blooming mess of everything and he didn't know how to get out of the continent sized hole he'd dug for himself.

Adi still held on to AJ's hand, refusing to let her do anymore damage. She had a bad temper and he wouldn't let it get the better of her. Well, try not to get it more better of her. He shook his head. He didn't need an apology. "Don't worry about it,'' Adi reassured her. "I just have to be fair, can't go around ignoring stuff just because you guys are my friends.''

Wait...Ian wanted to spend time with AJ? Adi was right earlier then. Ian was jealous of him and AJ. "He likes you,'' he said slowly, reality now dawning on him. Ian fancied AJ. It would explain everything now.
..........................

Adi waited patiently until AJ and Angel were safely in the carriage. With Ian gone, there was more than enough room for the crazy Valentine girl. But it was AJ whom he had to deal with first. He grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her slightly. "Where did your senses go, AJ?'' he demanded in that calm but firm voice. "Suppose you got hurt when you jumped out? Suppose Ian's spell had hit you?'' Really, couldn't she see how worried he was?

The Puffer turned to his guy bestie. "Good timing, Benny. Thanks.'' Now, onto Angel. "Angel! It's good to see you.'' He gave her a quick hug as she sat in her seat. He noticed she wasn't her usual self. Adi sat back in the seat opposite to Angel and cast a look at AJ. Best let Benny talk to her, the look said.

The fact that Adi was still holding on to her hand was the only thing keeping AJ from shoving Ian's wand down his throat. AJ was trying to count to ten. If it wasn't for Adi, the second year would have never backed down. She had never in her life been this furious. "Still..." This was the downfall of Adi being a prefect. "You would really turn me in?" It wasn't as if she wanted special treatment or anything, but it did kind of sting to know that her closest friend would snitch on her.

Ian was ranting again. She closed her eyes, and tried to picture herself on a unicorn farm. There was no tuning him out though. Merlin, this kid had lost it. Hang on... was Ian trying to say that he liked her? "Little advice. If you wanted to hang out with me all you had to do was ask. Bad mouthing my closest friends, and making fun of what I like will get you nowhere with me. Not to mention that you tried to hex me." That was pretty much what you didn't do to get a girl. Then Adi confirmed that he too thought that Ian liked her. The lion blew out air. Boys...

Angel still wasn't talking and that was fine for the moment. All that was on AJ's mind was to get her into the carriage quickly. After that, she could tackle the next issue. AJ pulled her sister up, and Angel went straight to go sit down. She didn't even say hello to anybody. Rude.

Before AJ had time to investigate Adi was shaking her. "We're barely moving. I've jumped out of trees higher up than this." Did he forget who he was talking to? "Maybe you should ask Ian that next question. Whether I jumped out or not, that should have never been an issue."

Benny got a huge smile from her. She had already thanked him, but he had saved her. Really he saved Ian from getting his wand broke, and shoved down his throat. It all depended on how you looked at it.

Adi hesitated for a second before replying to AJ's question. "Yeah, I would.'' He was always honest with her. "But you didn't do anything worse so I suppose you're in the clear. You need to manage your temper better, Missy. No need to go off like a bomb.'' Hehe. The Puffer was trying to make the atmosphere light again and hopefully AJ would joke right back with him. But for Ian it would be different. He would talk to Ian first, get him to apologise to AJ otheriwse he'd have to go see their Professor Head of House. Adi hated to be bothering her at the beginning of the term for this but if it didn't work out, he wouldn't have any choice.

Well, Adi had to admit that Ian did go around trying to hang out with AJ the wrong way. She was going to sulk at him for a while, he knew. He put an arm around her shoulder and gave her a small hug. "Don't worry about Ian. Here, have a froggy.'' Or two for that matter for when he reached into his pocket for a chocolate frog, he found Gus too. Gus liked AJ anyway. Maybe the toad would distract her.

Wow. Adi had admitted that he would actually turn her in. Had the badge already gone to his head? No, Adi was a fair man. That was just his style. "Some friend you are," she teased. "You suppose I'm in the clear?" She snorted. "Go easy on me, prefect." For the most part AJ was a super nice, but when she got mad things would get heated and fast. "I'll have to take lessons from you."

AJ leaned in to his hug, and laid her head on his shoulder. AJ made sure to look Ian right in the eyes when she said "I'm not worried about him." Oh, she got two frogs. Score. One to eat and one to play with. AJ took the wrapper off and bit the head of the frog clean off. "Thanks," she said in between bites. "Hey there Gus... up for croaking the alphabet today?"

He didn't deserve attention, well other than what was needed to make sure his friends were safe from his antics. Reallly? He liked AJ so treated her badly. The lion just shook his head and worked on ignoring the other boy. Which wasn't hard considering Angel's presence in the carriage had caught his attention.

Oh boy...

"You're welcome," he said to AJ as she thanked him, turning his attention from one sister to the other. Adi too when his best friend added to the feelings of gratitude. "I tried," he said as he returned his wand to his robe pocket and settled back down. " I wasn't about to let a coward win."

Attention turned back to Angel and Benny grew nervous. The boy not catching the look the other two exchanged. "Hey..." he said by way of greeting to her, offering a tentative smile.

Ian listened to what was said. He'd said enough, more than enough really. The word coward probably stung more than any other word that was said. It indicated that there was not enough courage in the young man to face his enemy head on. Nothing could be father from the truth. Of course AJ was not Ian's enemy. None of these people in the carriage was his enemy. They were his classmates. Ian turned away from the others and pulled his hood over his head. He needed to be alone. He needed to collect his thoughts. Unfortunately, the only thought that now haunted him was the word coward. This time, he didn't even try to wipe the tears away. He was grateful when the carriage slowed and stopped. Before anyone could go, he thrust himself from the carriage toward the castle door, the great hall and his house table.

I feel like I've seen you around so you must not be a firstie."Zander smiled, but really he was doing his absolute best to try to figure out where this guy was from. He had to know him from somewhere. Even though the name didn't really ring a bell... But maybe that's because he wasn't thinking hard enough. Think Zander. Think. "Thanks," eh, he was never really a big fan of his name actually. It was weird. Why couldn't he get a normal name like his brothers? It was like his parents just gave up with him. You'd think that after two goes they'd know what they were doing. But evidently this wasn't the case...

A fourth year?! Okay. Uh. Was this guy a transfer? No. Couldn't be. He had totally seen that face around before.... But where? Maybe he was in potions too, that would explain things. "I don't think I'll ever get the hang of it to be honest," but he wasn't upset about it, not after Beautiful Bentley told him that he wasn't completely hopeless at the magic stuff. Not to mention the fact that the whole top point earner thing really boosted his ego, well a bit... Kinda. "How'd you get it?" Battle scar from the Cold Ones?! O____O Because Zander may have won that superlative, but he didn't get any Cold One scars, so was it too late to ask the Hogwarts population for a revote?

At the 'not a firstie' thing Zander almost found himself offended! Of course he wasn't a firstie!! See his voice was deep, well deeper anyways, and he had grown four whole inches over the summer!! AND it wasn't like he was a complete no show at school like he was his first two terms. After all he had managed to get on a few of the Professor's 'good lists' and a top point earner and everything. First year?! HIM? "I'm a fourth year too!" Not a firstie. He didn't look like a firstie right? AND THEN IT HIT HIM. Like a brick on the back of the head. DUH, of course he knew this kid from somewhere!! Or knew of him anyway. "Wait a minute! Are you in Gryffindor?... Because I-uh- I could've sworn that I've seen you in our dorms before," They had to be dormmates. That was it. And if not then this would be very, very embarrassing. See it kind of made sense? He typically kept to himself the first two years so he didn't meet any of his dormmates. Then third year the only one he ever really talked to was Bart... So yeah. Could this guy be the other one that never socialized either?

Samson looked around. Layla was right.

“So if I hoyed ye over the side, they'd mysteriously appear to me?” Ah man, he wanted to see them.[/QUOTE]

With her arms crossed against her chest and an amused smirk planted on her face, Layla watched as her cousin finally noticed that absolutely no one was paying attention to him. It seemed like there was some sort of over-dramatic conflict going on in one carriage and an awful lot of excited younger years with their eyes fixated on the castle. Layla was seemingly disinterested, despite the fact she was here she quite simply did not want to be.

An un-ladylike snort escaped as he almost pouted at being ignored. The fifteen year-old was mature and world-wisely. Quite frankly boys were the complete opposite. "I ain't always right."she shrugged. "I'm observant. And I ain't stupid." She used her eyes.

She looked disinterested as he showed her his old camera and explained where he got it from. "Yeah. Sammy, it's just a camera to me." Give her the one on her smartphone any day. He continued to explain how it worked and she yawned both because she quite frankly didn't care and because that journey in carriages full of bloomin' excited girls had taken it out of her. "Cool." She had her eyes focused on the lake next to the castle. In the darkness it looked almost black and inviting. And Scotland was COLD.

"Do I look like the sort of girl who wants to live in a castle?" she turned to look at him. "I live in a semi in the middle of London. I'm a CITY girl, not a country lass!" This castle in the middle of nowhere was her worst nightmare.

So where Layla had spent her summer reading up on everything she needed to know by her fifth year at Hogwarts, Sammy had obviously been procrastinating like the boy he was. "Yeah. They're like skeleton horse things. Kinda creepy" She wasn't sure she wanted to see one. "If you dare touch me I will personally see you suffer a horrific ordeal at the hands of those Thestrals" she warned.

And then they came to a stop. They were finally at the school. Layla hopped off and headed towards the castle.
