The classroom is the same as it always is with professor Bellaire, bright crisp clean air because her classes are always early in the morning and complete immaculate classroom. There is also almost always an unnerving quiet as you walk in. Only this morning..there is a shuffling sound coming from a large box at the front of the classroom and professor Bellaire is standing a little bit away wearing protective gloves and a scorned look on her face.
You know the drill..get in and stand by your seats, class will begin shortly.

One of the first to the classroom, Sophie was surprised with how... serious and somber the Transfiguration professor looked. Feeling lucky to have at least skimmed over the rules for this class before coming, the little Ravenclaw ALMOST sat down, but straightened up quickly and stood by a seat near the middle of the room. Forcing a smile, she gave the professor a slightly apprehensive nod of greeting. Was she allowed to verbalize it, too? "...Good morning, professor," she decided to chime a bit more cheerfully than the way the woman was making her feel, hoping she wouldn't get scolded for it. The eerie quiet of the room was intimidating, save for the strange rustling coming from the box.
So... what was IN that big ol' box that required the professor to protect her hands? Sophie eyed both the box and the professor skeptically while smoothing down her robes, trying to seem even more prim and proper than she had been when she walked into the classroom.
Why did she suddenly feel like this class wasn't going to be as enjoyable as the others?

Adi's first Transfiguration lesson ever! And he was quite looking forward to it! Stepping into the classroom, he noticed the Professor standing there with a pair of protective gloves on. And a weird sound emitting from the box that was at the front of the class.
"Good morning, Professor,'' Adi said, though he was concentrating on the box as though expecting whatever was inside to come bursting out. What could it be? Still very curious, he moved along towards one of the desks and stood there.

It was REALLY early in the morning!
The boy let out a yawn and shook his head, as if he was shaking away any tiredness he could feel inside of him. Being alert was probably needed in a lesson like this. Most likely. Plus, he was pretty sure Bellaire could hex off all of his hair if he even dared to yawn in her class. Maybe. It was probably this thought that made the boy stop close to the door of the classroom and rub his eyes. He opened them again and took a deep breath before walking into the classroom. Except...
... was it just him or was it REALLY quiet in here? Quiet... except for...
... OH. It seemed as though nearly every class started off with something being hidden in a box of some sort. And this wasn't any different. Alec readjusted his grip on his bag and decided not to think about the weird shuffling that was coming from the box. They'd probably learn about it, no doubt, so there was no point overthinking, yeah?
"Good morning, Professor Bellaire!" he said as brightly as possible, smiling at the woman, "Erm... I hope you had a great summer." And see? Not tired. Nope. He moved over towards an empty seat near the middle of the classroom and stood behind it. ... Stood. Because... it was one of the rules. And from what he had heard, Bellaire was scary about rule breaking.

It was interesting to note that the first arrivals to her class were first years. It was a good sign though that these young minds were eager and ready to learn and they were also disciplined. Good, she good work with these.
"Good morning. May I have your names please?"
It was REALLY early in the morning!

Professor Bellaire looked to the door as they were joined by another student. Sixth year which meant he knew the importance of getting to her class on time and also of dressing neatly. She raked her eyes over his clothes before answering him.
"Good morning Mr. Summers. My summer was well and I trust yours was also."

It was early and bright and a bit cold. Yeah, definitely cold. Ella smoothed her uniform and tried not think about that as she entered the classroom, a polite smile on her face. "Hello Professor. Hope you had a nice summer break." And what was that noise? The blonde gazed in the direction of the sound and raised her eyebrows a little, wondering what they'd be doing today. Hm.
Wandering over to a desk near Alec, the seventeen year old gave him a bright smile and stood beside her chair, waiting to be told to sit.

Oh, good. The others hadn't left her alone for too long. Sophie offered a half-hearted, but encouraging smile to the first year Hufflepuff boy, then to big ol' Alec. But then the professor was addressing her, and she stood up even straighter, her eyebrows raised at attention.
She hesitated before speaking, deciding whether or not to give a spiel or just as much as she was asked for. "Sophie Brown, ma'am, first year Ravenclaw." Then she looked expectantly at the Hufflepuff boy, urging him to go next quickly so the scary woman would stop looking at her. Ella's presence helped ease the tension of the situation, though. If Sophie was sure she wouldn't get scolded for talking to someone else, she would've greeted the Hufflepuff Captain - but she thought better of it and just stood there, smiling a bit nervously, wishing she had read up on her Transfiguration textbook some more before attending class today.
This woman was nothing like Fuller. Such a strange smorgasbord of professors at this school.

Transfiguration. Charlie was hoping against hope that this one of her favourite subjects might remain so - Arithmancy hadn't. Had they even been taught at all? Or was she going to end up teaching herself the syllabus? Shaking those thoughts away, Charlie smiled at the Professor as she entered the classroom.
She was totally pretty.
"Hello Professor," she greeted. "I'm Charlie Czesanka, new fourth year. I'm... really excited for your lesson." Nod.
With that, she turned around to take a seat.

Wade had grown accustomed to these early morning arrivals, not just from classes but often the little get togethers he had with his Quidditch mates and trainings. With Transfiguration this was no different to Astronomy in terms of being extra groomed before arriving.
"Good morning Professor Bellaire.. Was your summer nice?" Wade smiled as he turned his head towards her walking in.. Hm? He could hear a distant noise from that box near her.. Interesting. Well, he'd find out on that sooner or later. Wade's clean hair ruffled a little on its own when he chose to stand near an empty seat around the middle of the classroom.

Oops! Adi completely forgot to introduce himself. "I'm Aditya Rehman, Professor,'' he now told the woman after Sophie had finished speaking. "Hufflepuff House.'' Again, more weird noises came from the box. He cast his eyes on it. What in the world was in there? And it had to be sort of dangerous because the Professor was wearing protective gloves.
Oh lookie here! More Badgers! "Hi, Alec! Hi Ella! Hey Wade!'' Adi waved to the older badgers.

Yes Professor Bellaire knew some of the little couplings that went on and she was quite aware of this thing with Ella and Alec but she wasn't aware that dating meant they would have identical greetings..asking the same thing or were they channeling each other? They both receieved odd looks.
"Good morning Miss Bishop. My summer was grand as I'm sure yours was." Strange looks.
Oh, good. The others hadn't left her alone for too long. Sophie offered a half-hearted, but encouraging smile to the first year Hufflepuff boy, then to big ol' Alec. But then the professor was addressing her, and she stood up even straighter, her eyebrows raised at attention.

"Well then, welcome to Transfiguration class Miss Brown. If you don't know who I am by now you'll find out soon enough." There was something of a smile as her eyes moved on to the next person.

"Uh uh, don't you put your bottom on that seat Miss Czesanka." She stepped forward. "You say you're a new fourth year. May I ask where it is you've transferred in from?" This one didn't seem very observant at all, sitting would have been a big no no, though she supposed she could claim ignorance of the class rules.

"Ah Mr. Rehman." She nodded but then her expression became hard again." You're new at Hogwarts and new to my class, so let me tell you now, there's no waving hi to classmates in my class while I'm addressing the students. And really there is no waving hi or talking unless you're getting help or casting a spell. Am I clear?..Okay." She didnt need an answer, she was clear.

So, Theo was late. (Well, not really, but he kinda was for his standards.)
The Slytherin zoomed into the classroom real quick, hoping that Professor Bellaire would think he was there the whole time. He resumed his usual spot at the front of her classroom, and stood behind his desk. "Morning, Professor Bellaire." He said brightly with his chin high in the air.

The curiosity was driving him crazy! He wondered how long more they'd have to wait to find out what was in there. He hoped the other students would be here soon.
He looked back at Professor Bellaire. "I'll be going back to my seat now, Professor.'' Not to sit just yet, of course.

Kace made his way to Transfiguration. He actually thought this class was kind of cool. He remembered learning new things last year as a little firstie. But when he got to the classroom, he noticed a few fellow students already beat him to it.
As he went in, he noticed the Professor was in the room. He smiled and waved to her. "Good morning Professor Bellaire! Do anything interesting this summer?" he asked as a conversation starter.
Then he went to his desk and managed to find a seat in the middle of the classroom. He got out his notebook and quill and began to doodle.

Forrest wasn't late, not really. He was just... a little late than normal. But that was fine, right? Since the class hadn't started yet... right. He knocked on the door, open or not, and quickly found a seat at the back rows of the class. He [/s]was afraid of the Professor so he[/s] didn't greet the Professor, because that might distract her from her concerned looks?
Yeah. He didn't sit though, because Professor liked it the old way.

This was a little too early for Nigel to have a class. Actually any morning class was too early. Sleep was good. Yawning a bit. while entering the class room. Nigel was a little shocked by how quickly Theo entered the room. Running, zooming or whatever. "Hello Professor Bellaire"
Nigel knew the drill by now and stood next to his usual seat.

Adelaide hurried to the Charms classroom. She was really excited for this one. She entered the room to see everyone just kind of standing around the desk with the professor at the front. She did not look happy. And what was in the box? Hopefully she figured it out.
"Morning professor." And that was that. No need to provoke a grumpy person. She found a seat near the middle and stood by it. Could she sit?

Professor Bellaire chuckled quietly to herself because, he was quite hard to miss, not only because she knew him but he wasn't an ickle first year anymore it was kind of hard to just slip by unnoticed.
She smiled at him. "Good morning Theodore."
Adi listened to the Professor and then nodded. "I'm sorry about that, Professor. And I understand.'' He nodded again but was distracted by more noises from the box. Arrgh! Nice boy he was...a bit talkative but so were most first years, especially the ones who didn't know about her class. He received a nod from her as he made his way back to his seat.
Professor Bellaire twitched. Alright, that was it..it was definitely a Hufflepuff thing but she'd sort those HufflePuffs out once and for all. "Good morning Mr. Lecuim." And she walked to the board and wrote in big bold letters..
Professor Bellaire had a lovely summmer!

Wade's brows furrowed as he could hear the somewhat sadden tone in her voice. Aww, that wasn't good. "I'm.. sorry, Professor. Mine was pretty nice though." Maybe it was more than nice? His inner hopeful self quietly thought.
On his way to his seat to stand by, Wade heard Adi. He smiled back at him and gave him a wave. Oh, he had forgotten to mention about the special rules of this class, so Wade put one finger to his lips at him. His mouth opened about to let him know that they had keep quiet for now, though it was kind of late since the Professor let him know before Wade could.
By the time he was left standing by his own seat he then noticed the change on the board.. Hm. Wade blinked a few times.. Lovely. He smiled on the inside, knowing it wasn't a bad summer after all.

Ah yes, Transfiguration. Now here was a lesson Adrienne would like, if it weren't so gosh-darned early in the morning. Still, at least the material was interesting, the teacher required cleanliness and didn't put up with anyone's nonsense, and there weren't any Flamsteed-esque activities. So Adrienne smiled pleasantly as she walked into class.
"Good morning, Professor. I hope you are doing well?" And then she chose a desk as far away from everyone else as possible, but still kind of in the front. She didn't want to miss out, but she didn't really want to sit nearby anyone here. Adrienne stood by her desk and shot a curious glance at the muffled noises coming from the box. Bizarre, and hopefully something they'd get to interact with in class today.

YAY more wand based magic! Caleb happily entered transfiguration class, excited to see what they'd learn today. He hoped they didn't have to practice anything on animals, though. Beans would NOT be happy about that, and besides Caleb didn't even know if he had the heart to try and transform his rat into something else.
"Hey Professor!" Caleb said happily as he entered, taking a seat near the front.

Sophie glanced up at the professor as she made her way through the classroom door. The woman looked unhappy to be here, which was her own fault since she scheduled her class so early in the morning. Sophie would be unhappy, too, if for the rest of her life, she had no other choice than to be up and going strong each and every morning.
"Hello, Professor," she simply said, and then she ventured further into the classroom to find a seat. So, why did they have to stand next to it anyway? Sophie didn't get that concept, but she joined the others anyway, standing for no reason in the middle of a classroom.

Professor Bellaire was standing next to the board with her wand for reasons...reasons. She kept a neutral expression as her class started filling up an casually glanced at her watch.
"Good morning, I'm doing well thank you."

Claudette was rather eager for Transfiguration to begin. It was one of her favorite classes at Beauxbatons and, even though some of the classes at Hogwarts had been a little unconventional in her opinion, she was sure this one would still rank high for her. Though she did find it to be ridiculous to have to walk all the way down from Ravenclaw tower to the Great Hall for breakfast then all the way back up to the sixth floor for class. Far too much walking for this time of day, but she made it and on time in her freshly pressed uniform.
As she walked in, the first thing she noticed was the woman standing near the board. The sixteen year old got the feeling that she was rather strict and she gave her a small smile in greeting as she passed. "Good morning, Professor." Then her eyes fell on the blackboard. That was.. nice. Looking back at the professor again, she gave her a small nod then turned to find a seat.
Er.. why was everyone standing next to their desks? Claudette found that to be an odd thing, but figured it was some sort of protocol for the room and/or teacher and decided to just go along with it. Choosing an empty desk, the blonde stood beside the seat and waited for instructions.. or something.

Tora Gallaway would have skipped into the classroom if the Professor had been anyone but Bellaire. As it was, she barely contained her excitement for the class as she walked into the classroom to stand by her desk. Her uniform was in spit spot condition and her grin was barely contained on her clean face. "Good morning, Professor." she said cheerily. But not too cheery. She was still here to learn after all. Not that lerning couldn't be fun. She was excited for this lesson to begin.

Asher was trying his hardest to be awake for class. He'd been up far too late working on homework and had a fretful nights sleep. He patiently waited next to his seat for further instructions.
Attempting to conceal a wide yawn, he turned his head momentarily away from the professor, trying to appear as if he was checking out the classroom and the other students. Wake up, wake up, he thought to himself and stood even straighter.
Ariel stepped into the classroom, a smile spread across her face.
She LOVED Transfiguration.
Probably more than anything else. It was not only her favorite subject but, as she saw it, a way of life! And she had been ecstatic about meeting the professor.
"Good morning Professor!" Ariel greeted with a smile, finding a desk toward the front of the room. "How are you today?"
Personally, the girl could not CONTAIN her excitement.
Oh yes, this was going to be good.

Sophie walked into the the Transfiguration classroom after making sure her uniform was tidy enough for professor Bellaire's standards. "Morning, professor." The Hufflepuff greeted the older witch as she went to take a place somewhere to the front, but not exactly in the front row.
She stood behind the desk she chose this time and eyed the large box and tried to listen carefully to the sounds that were coming from it. Eep!

First thing to do when heading to Charms Transfiguration is check to make sure one is perfectly CLEAN. Lex stopped outside the classroom and tried tucking her shirt more neatly into her skirt then straightening her tie. It was the least she could do considering there wasn't much to be done about the bird's nest on her head. Okay, it wasn't that bad, just noticeably un-brushed and pulled into a messy ponytail. Not her fault she was running late, Bellaire needed to not have her classes so early, yeah?
Once she was as neat as she would ever be she walked into the class, glanced briefly at the shuffling box before smiling brightly at the Professor. "Good Morning Professor Bellaire." Her eyes shifted to the board. "Erm...good to know you had a lovely summer."
Was that a part of the class? Would they be tested on it later? She shrugged and found a seat in the middle of the room, fixating again on the shuffling box. This wasn't DADA...whatever was inside wasn't vicious. The thought was almost disappointing when she thought about it.
Sigh.

Very early. Classes were very early. Which wasn't usually a problem but the previous night she was kind of was preoccupied. Oh, she still hadn't finished redecorating the dorm and yes it was so very important. So she kind of wasn't that ...awake?
Though the walk to the sixth floor helped a bit. At least she did't yawn every minute. Only every seven minutes or so. And since it was Transfiguration, then it meant they were probably going to be 'doing' something rather than just sit and answer questions all the time. She was hoping so.
The fifth-year entered the classroom, took a look around then walked further in. Oh, a box. And it was making sounds, oookay. "Good morning, Professor," She greeted the woman when she passed her.
Oooh. Lex. Cassia walked over to the lioness and slid into a seat next to her. "'Sup," She said dropping her bag to the floor next to her.

Tobias had entered the room with a polite 'Good morning, Professor,' and was now stood by a seat in the general area he usually chose when arriving at a class: right at the side and nearest the windows. He nibbled nervously at the edge of his thumbnail as he glanced back and forth from the professor to the box thingy at the front of the room.
Transfiguration was the class he found harder than all of the rest and so naturally he was eager to improve and everything buuuuuuuuuuuuut... vibes. There were vibes. Coming from the professor. And the room was too quiet.
And he was trying really really hard not to bounce but even HE knew that now was not the time.

Cutty Mordaunt had been awake for sometime before his first Transfig class was set to begin. What he was doing all of that time was difficult to say. Whatever it was, it left him in a good mood and he entered the Transfiguration classroom wide awake and alert.
His eyes fixed on Professor Bellaire as he entered and stood near a desk to the left of a young Hufflepuff boy (http://www.snitchseeker.com/11443876-post15.html). He was trying not to stare but she was a very striking witch. Here's hoping she's not a complete airhead and actually had something to teach them. He tore his focus away from her and wondered why they were all standing, including himself.
Oh. She was one of those.
Best behaviour, Cuthbert. BEST behaviour!

The Transfiguration room nice and bright and clean, and Mo enjoyed a breath of fresh air as he stepped into the room. The school in general was MUCH cleaner than last term, and Mo was slowly remembering what it was like to not have to do his own cleaning or carry around his own silverware in his bag. He'd stabbed himself with a fork WAY too many times last term.
"Good morning, Professor," Mo slipped around to stand near the bully-baby named Sophie, giving her hair a tug as he stood beside an open desk.

West entered the room in absolute silence. Complete silence. He found a desk, and without looking at anyone, he stood there and waited.
In silence.
The sort that was directed completely inward. He was here because he had to be, and because it was his favourite subject once upon a time, but that didn't matter today. He had dressed nice and made sure his uniform was pristine though, sort of out of habit for a Bellaire lesson.... it was just that his heart wasn't in it.
"Good morning professor." Automatic. Barely audible. Distracted.
But still polite.

Hair combed and robes straight and a presentable Alice for Transfiguration, because it was common knowledge that Bellaire wouldn't have it any other way. She also had imaginary duct tape over her mouth. Nothing more than answers and greetings in this lesson, for fear of losing another thirty points for virtually nothing.
Lady was nuts.
The sixth year entered quietly, and with a polite "Morning, professor," for the lady at the front, she went to stand near a seat by Ella.

Vesper was here...and kinda terrified of the Transfiguration professor.
She'd read the rules beforehand. So, her appearance was as tidy as she could get it...but her hair was still a bit wild. Gel had been brought into play but it hadn't done much good. Looking at everyone standing by their seats, too...Ves didn't make a sound as she slowly went to stand by her own seat.
Real magic was involved this go around...and not magic she was too skilled with. So, she was prepared to embarrass herself....pretty much.
A deep blush stained her cheeks.
Good morning, professor...

Hannah entered the Transfiguration classroom nice and neat, just the way Professor Bellaire liked it. She would have been nice and neat regardless, but let the professor think what she will. The class was pretty full. Was she late? She spotted the professor who was still welcoming students so it looked like she was safe for now. Morning Professor." She wasn't sure how good of a morning it was just yet so she left that little part out of the greeting.
Was she wearing protective gloves? What was going to be going on during this lesson she wondered. At least she could be sure that it wouldn't involve beards. This professor would have none of that nonsense and she could respect her for that!

Wot?! What did he just see? Some bigger kid just yanked some girl's hair. That was aggressive and it amused him. Cutty's mouth hung open. A gape sort of smile as utter delight spread across the rest of his features. The young Slytherin boy caught his expression and willed himself not to laugh out loud at the scene before him because of the whole standing by the desks thing. It instead manifested in a series of deep inhales and shaking shoulders.
He was going to make it.

Minerva walked into class with a smile on her face. She was thankful to have another class with a normal female professor. Yes transfiguration one of her favorite classes, plus she knew Bellaire would have no tricks up her sleeves, at least ones that included beards. She smiled at the professor, "Hello Professor" and turned to find her seat.
Noticing she was one of the later ones into the room she hurried to her usual front seat and placed her stuff down, but stayed standing knowing she wasn't allowed to sit. She wondered what they would be doing today and anticipated actually learning something that would be useful.

"Well then, welcome to Transfiguration class Miss Brown. If you don't know who I am by now you'll find out soon enough." There was something of a smile as her eyes moved on to the next person.
Sophie stared at the woman in confusion, the nervous smile still lingering on her face. What? What did that even mean? Of course Sophie knew who she was. The woman's NAME was on her schedule, so... was there something else that was going to happen? Something new she was going to find out?
Whatever the case, the little Ravenclaw suddenly wished she had positioned herself more toward the back of the classroom.
She hadn't seen him coming, but as soon as someone tugged at her hair, Sophie KNEW who it was. She forgot where she was and that she was under the extreme surveillance of a scary professor as her face broke into a huge smile and her eyes lit up at the older boy. MO WAS THERE. PHEW. Now she could relax because he wouldn't let anything bad happen to her, yeah? He'd stand up for her if Bellaire tried picking on her? Sophie started to reach out to give his arm a light shove in retaliation for the hair pull, but she then remembered where she was and whose classroom they were in - the classroom of a woman who had just yelled at a first year Hufflepuff for WAVING at someone.
So Sophie retracted her hand quickly and wrinkled her nose at Mo, hoping to convey that she would get him back for that when they left the classroom. Then she went back to standing there like an angelic little soldier, hoping class would start soon so she could stop feeling like Bellaire was JUDGING her. And because she was really curious about the contents of the box.

Petra walked into the classroom and waved at the professor. " Hello professor...my name is petra silvermoon." Petra then turned and found a seat in the middle of the classroom and she put her things down and stood behind her chair like the other students. Petra then looked at the professor who she just noticed was wearing protective glasses. She was now worried what were they going to be doing in this class today?

"Good morning." She didn't know the student, otherwise that greeting would have a name attached to it. Quite a few transfer students came in this term apparently. It was very very strange to her indeed.
"Good morning Miss Gallaway." Now this one she knew quite well and would apparently be seeing more of if the girl proved that she was competent enough with the task that she took on herself.
Sophia checked her watch to be sure of the time. Yes it was an early class and she wasn't aware of coffee being served here but this one was on something...probably chocolate frogs or something from honeydukes.
"Good morning Miss Bride. I'm fine, thank you"
Sophie walked into the the Transfiguration classroom after making sure her uniform was tidy enough for professor Bellaire's standards. "Morning, professor." The Hufflepuff greeted the older witch as she went to take a place somewhere to the front, but not exactly in the front row.
She stood behind the desk she chose this time and eyed the large box and tried to listen carefully to the sounds that were coming from it. Eep!
It really was nice not having to call anyone out on having an untidy uniform. Slowly it seemed they were beginning to get it. Your appearance mattered, it did because it speaks to people before you do.
"Good morning Miss Campbell."
Sigh.
Trouble maker alert. Sophia's eyes followed Miss Cambridge right to her seat. She scanned the girl for any oddities and any chocolate frogs she might have stashed out anywhere. There would be no eating in her class...not unless specified.
"Good morning Miss Cambridge..it's good to see you can read and so didn't ask."
Very early. Classes were very early. Which wasn't usually a problem but the previous night she was kind of was preoccupied. Oh, she still hadn't finished redecorating the dorm and yes it was so very important. So she kind of wasn't that ...awake?

Oooh. Lex. Cassia walked over to the lioness and slid into a seat next to her. "'Sup," She said dropping her bag to the floor next to her.
Here was another student who tend to do very well in her class. There was something of a smile as Miss Somerlad passed her. Tyler spoke very highly of her brother so she supposed it was just good genes in general.
"Good morning Miss Somerlad." She frowned. "There will be no supping in my class."
Tobias had entered the room with a polite 'Good morning, Professor,' and was now stood by a seat in the general area he usually chose when arriving at a class: right at the side and nearest the windows. And he was trying really really hard not to bounce but even HE knew that now was not the time.
Mr. Tempus looked like he really should have gone for a jog before coming to class because he seemed like he was about to make a run for it. Really she would not have brought anything dangerous to class if she didn't have someone there to help...though Medea was of no use the last time she asked for her assistance.
"Good morning."
"Good morning, Professor," Mo slipped around to stand near the bully-baby named Sophie, giving her hair a tug as he stood beside an open desk.
"Good morning Mr. Branxton. Hands to yourself please." Yes she saw that. What on earth? What kind of greeting was that anyways? Not that her class was a place for socializing but still. She shook her head.
West entered the room in absolute silence. Complete silence. He found a desk, and without looking at anyone, he stood there and waited.
In silence.
The sort that was directed completely inward. He was here because he had to be, and because it was his favourite subject once upon a time, but that didn't matter today. Once again Sophia checked her watch. Five minutes then she'd commence with her lesson and lock the door. Time was time and rules were rules.
"Good morning Mr.Odessa."
Hair combed and robes straight and a presentable Alice for Transfiguration, because it was common knowledge that Bellaire wouldn't have it any other way. "Good morning..Miss Fischer." Bit anyone today, have you?
Hannah entered the Transfiguration classroom nice and neat, just the way Professor Bellaire liked it. She would have been nice and neat regardless, but let the professor think what she will. "Good morning Miss Lockwood." Two minutes...two minutes and she'd be closing her classroom door and it would be right into her lesson...right right, they were still on time.
Minerva walked into class with a smile on her face. She was thankful to have another class with a normal female professor. Yes transfiguration one of her favorite classes, plus she knew Bellaire would have no tricks up her sleeves, at least ones that included beards. And that was it for her. Sophia offered the prefect a smile before pointing her wand at the door and shutting it. There was a definitive click after the slam. Right then.
"Good morning Miss Wheatborn."
Professor Bellaire moved to the board once again and erased what was on there before scribbling a spell in neat cursive hand writing.

"You may all take your seats. Now this spell in simple English translates to rabbit head. This is because the spell we'll be practicing today requires you to transfigure rabbits into top hats. Fine angora top hats, just in time for the winter season." Tora quickly took her seat and pulled out her notebook for the class. She wrote out Lepus Capot by accident at first before quickly crossing that out and writing the correct spell. Best not to get off on the wring foot two minutes into class.
She looked up again just as Professor Bellaire was demonstrating the wand movement. Holding one finger out she practiced it a couple times herself. Easy enough. Ok, what's next? She didn't have any questions at the moment, but she was sure that some of her fellow students would. It would be interesting to see what they would say as they would probably come up with something she wouldn't have even thought of. She smiled happily, it didn't matter that the professor was a bit strict, as long as you followed her rules. Tora loved this class.

Oh, they were going to change a rabbit into a top hat? She'd read that muggles could sometimes pull rabbits out of hats, but she'd also read that that was just a simple trick. Could she just keep the rabbit and skip out on the hat? She wasn't too big on wearing hats, but she could use a pet rabbit.
These were the thoughts running through Sophie's mind as she listened to the professor give them the incantation. Lepus Caput--that didn't sound too hard to say or remember. The wand movement looked like a piece of cake, too. Sophie grinned as she thought this one over. Transfiguration was going to be EASY AS PIE! Another subject to make her parents think she was just the next best genius.

Phew. Finally. Sophie took her seat, far more relaxed now that she was in good company, though she did giggle a little when Mo was scolded and she smoothed her robes out to combat any developing wrinkles so she wouldn't get scolded, too. She didn't mind getting in trouble, really, but over something like that wouldn't be worth it. Ha ha, big goober.
Lepus Caput. So... rabbits? That's what was inside of the box? Why would the professor require gloves to handle rabbits? Were they... special rabid rabbits or something? That didn't make sense, though. Maybe the woman was just uncomfortable touching them. But that was even more weird, in Sophie's opinion. So something seemed to be amiss.
That wand movement was simple enough. Sophie wanted to ask if they were going to be able to KEEP the hats, but she didn't want to draw unnecessary attention to herself again. The more invisible the better with this professor, yeah? So she just sat there quietly, eager to get to work. Wooooo wand work.

The eleven year old waited patiently for Professor Bellaire to continue.

There were rabbits in there? Ugh was the thought in Adrienne's mind as she sat down with the rest of the class, the sound of chairs scraping and students shifting in their seats blocking out all other noise. She quickly copied down the name of the spell on the board, as well as the wand movement, and then resumed her usual position of ankles crossed, hands folded, eyes in the general direction of the teacher.
Did she have any questions? Why yes, actually, she did. "Theoretically," because she wanted people to know she had no intentions of actually doing this to anyone except maybe annoying people, "could you turn a human into a hat with a similar spell? Or any other creature?" Smile.

Okay. West sat down, gaze remaining fixed on the board. Rabbits into top hats. Alright then. Angora hat was an interesting fashion choice, but he supposed he could make it work or whatever.
He looked at the wand movement on the board, and then, yeah he had a question, a half-hearted one, so he put his hand up. "Is the wand movement left to right, or right to left, and does it change based on which hand you use?"

He wasn't in his best condition today. Instead of preparing before the lesson started as usual, Angeal just stood still, spacing out until the teacher instructed them to sit. His eyes moved towards the board after the Professor Bellaire finished writing. Turning rabbits into hats. Now, that sounded complicated. But then again, Eric had told him many times how Transfiguration can be quite a pain in the neck.
So far, he had no question and took the time to prepare before the class moves on.

After saying his mornings and standing by his seat by the allotted time Bellaire gave, he did as he was told, and sat. She began immediately of course which was annoying as everyone hadn't settled in just then so her entire first sentence was lost on him. No worries though, the important parts he could see and hear. Being around everyone wasn't annoying to him, it was simply tiring. He sometimes missed to cues, sometimes he preempted, sometimes he got the wrong cue. It was tiring.
It was why he preferred to be alone, or better yet with animals. It seemed today's lesson would require an animal partner which Jacques was happy for. You didn't need to smile for a pet to get you.

Forrest took his seat. He was relieved that Professor didn't comment negatively or anything about him. He was actually just fine having no interaction with Professor. Did he say she was scary? Yeah. She and Professor Lafay was head-to-head in scary competition, and he didn't remember anyone that wasn't afraid of Professor Lafay.
Anyways, right. Class. Focus.
He still listened to the lesson attentively, because it would be just worse if Professor caught his not listening. It was all going alright really. 'Lepus Caput', alright. 'Rabbit head', fine. Rabbits to--what? They were going to wear hats made of alive rabbits?!?!?! He gasped. He couldn't just kill a rabbit! He surveyed the class. How were they so... calm about this?! Poor rabbits!
He had a question. LOTS, actually!
His hand shot to the air. "Will we use alive rabbits? Does that mean they will die? How long will the charm last? Isn't there another way to do this? Like, perhaps from wool?"

It was still early and she was still a little tired but she tried to not show everybody that she wasn’t tired at all and ready for the lesson. She didn’t wanted to look lazy! Sat in the classroom in her usual seat she saw that the professor wore protective cloves! Oh noooo, when a teacher was wearing them she KNEW that she didn’t would like the lessen, she didn’t liked it to get her hands dirty or to work hard, but… she was already inside the classroom and the professor had saw her, so there was no way that she could leave the classroom now! She eyed the large box, not interested at ALL what was inside of it! She hoped that the PROFESSOR and NOT she needed to look inside that box… Maybe she was a coward, but she just didn’t liked that things! So she looked up at the professor to see what she would do next.
She wrote quick the spell on her parchment to NOT forget it. Lepus Caput
But then… What was she saying? Transfer a… rabbit? But she didn’t wanted to that! Rabbit’s were cute and she liked them! Poor little animals…
“I have a question!” said Sonea quick while she raised her hands. “Are we… going to transform real rabbits? Alive? We aren’t hurting them right?” She really liked those small animals and she didn’t wanted to hurt them… So she hoped that this spell wasn’t dangerous for them…

Adelaide managed to smile at the professor...until a few more students started coming in. Okay. This lady was a bit scary. She made a mental note to never forget to do her homework for this class. Or even be late.
Adelaide quickly sat, not wanting to anger the lady even more. Someone must have spit in her tea coffee this morning. There was no way someone could just be this unhappy. Rabbits into hats? Now that was going to be fun at least. She made a quick mental note of the movement. Oh yes. West just asked a question she had herself. Direction was very important.

She had no idea that was not allowed, and like how did the woman hear. Next time she was going to either whisper or pass a note. That totally solved it, yeah? The fifth-year nodded solemnly at the professor and leaned back on her seat waiting for the lesson to start while more students came in.
And here they were. She flipped her notebook open, yeah, she was taking notes, Lex, fifth year okay?
Cassia scribbled down the incantation. Sounded fun and interesting. Rabbits into hats! Except the younger ones were worried about the rabbits. Oh, the kids. She smiled over at Forrest. Good kid, he was. And nope, she had no questions, so she just sat tapping her quill on her notebook lightly.

Kat was here all the long, just saying.
Lepus Caput. So, turning rabbits into angora hats. That was cool, since it is almost the winter season and Kat didn't want to feel the intense cold. She was perfectly okay with snow and its coldness as long as she had thick coats and appropriate clothes and cuddles from a certain boy. That was fine with her... so angora hats, FTW. They did look like beanies though, or were they the same thing?
Questions though. "Just angora hats, Professor? Could we use the spell to make other hats?" She did know that there was another spell to change cloth to hats... Tectum Caput, yeah?

TRANSFIGURATION.
Benzi was on his best behaviour today.
He had stood like everyone, he'd sat down only when the teacher told them they could and he'd woken up EXTRA SUPER EARLY so that come this lesson he wouldn't be tired. For the first time since term started, his blue tie was properly in place and his shirt done and tucked.
He'd even attempted to shine his shoes, but that had sort of failed.
He laid the Transfiguration book he had neatly in front of him, his parchment and quill all ready for use. Benzi's face fell slightly as the teacher didn't start the lesson with some questions, but it didn't matter because this was TRANSFIGURATION and he would be his best no matter what. It's why he hadn't looked for friends before sitting. This lesson was all about Transfiguration and NOTHING else.
"Lepus Caput," he murmured under his breath, practicing it as he visualised the wand movement. Rabbits to hats. Got it. He turned to the Slytherin older kid who'd asked about the direction of the movement, nodding his head slightly. GOOD question, that.
Unable to help himself, Benzi lifted the cover of his well worn book, so different from all his other shiny new textbooks, to glance at the name written neatly on the bottom; his mother's. Cue BEAM. He needed to be extra special good in this class. EXTRA SPECIAL GOOD.

"Well yes, yes you can actually, but that's not a spell I will be teaching you...today or any time soon for that matter. But if you do decide to read up and learn the spell on your own...then hypothetically speaking..use it on a fellow student, prepare for the consequence of your action." She smiled.
"As you write in the Western world Mr. Odessa, left to write. I suppose if you tried it in reverse your hat may transfigure with twitching rabbit ears." She eyed the rest of her class. Definitely wasn't giving anyone any ideas.
"Why yes we will be using alive rabbits as you put it Mr. Charlton. I don't suppose you'd like the smell on your head if you used dead ones. To transfigure does not mean to kill and the spell will last until you do a reverse transfiguration or simply terminate the spell."
Alive? We aren’t hurting them right?” She really liked those small animals and she didn’t wanted to hurt them… So she hoped that this spell wasn’t dangerous for them…
"I believe you heard the answer I gave Mr. Charlton Miss Duvessa and no you're not hurting them."
Kat was here all the long, just saying.
Lepus Caput. So, turning rabbits into angora hats. That was cool, since it is almost the winter season and Kat didn't want to feel the intense cold. "You can yes. Transfiguration...magic.." She turned to address the whole class..." Is limitless...almost. I trust you all know by now about Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration. I you don't you're not ready for my class. A beginner's guide to transfiguration is not a door stop. Moving on..."
She clicked over to the side where the box was and made a disgusted face at the box before reaching in and coming up with a fluffy white bunny...a twitching fluffy white bunny. She held it away from her as if it was carrying something contagious.
"Now class...yuck....this is a rabbit...it's not as disgusting as a pygmy puff but it's similar. Watch as I demonstrate the proper way to perform the spell." She put the rabbit on the desk and made a face as it started hopping around. "Petrificus Totalus." The rabbit froze in spot. "Now you don't have to petrify the rabbit, but I don't want the rodent hopping all over my desk..feel free to use it though if you want. Lepus Caput." She did the want movement and watched as the rabbit transfigured into a hat." This one is for Professor Botros, can't have the old man hairless as he is freezing to death at our school can we?..we have enough ghost....right..so everyone come and get a rabbit."

Adelaide watched the professor's expression. Yuck? Rabbits weren't something you said yuck to. They were cute and cuddly. And heck. Pygmy puffs were even cuter. She had officially lost any resemblance of like for this professor. The respect was still there though, in fear of losing points or detention or something.
She managed to not giggle at the Botros comment. She actually liked the older man. Addi looked around the room as she told them to all come get a rabbit. She slowly got up and went to the front, grabbing a little bunny out of the box. She smiled and held it close to her so that it didn't squirm out of her arms. She went back to her seat and sat down, still holding the rabbit to her. She wasn't going to use Petrificus Totalus on it unless it was absolutely necessary.

So far, this class was Fern's favorite by far. After her fears for the rabbits' safety had been assuaged, Fern had found the idea of turning an animal into headwear absolutely wonderful. If she got a cat - which she desperately wanted. A black one. She would name it Celestina. And it would be best friends with Bludger - she would transfigure it into a hat so she could take it everywhere without getting in trouble. Because no one would know her hat was really a cat.
Fern hopped out of her seat (the one by Forrest, so she could glare at Cuthbert on his other side and make sure the evil Slytherin didn't steal, or more likely hurt, her friend) and went over to the box, which was at that time still full of cute fluffy bunnies. Suppressing a delighted squeal, more because she didn't want to scare them, but also because this was another of those no-nonsense classes, the first year gently lifted one out of the box.
Back at her desk, she placed the bunny on her lap and stroke its head with her thumb. Fern wondered if Professor Bellaire had gotten them from the Care of Magical Creatures professor, and if she hadn't, if she would let the students keep them. Since it was obvious Professor Bellaire didn't like them. Fern was going to call her bunny Sparkle.

Well if it made twitchy ears then obviously it was important to know the direction right? West was satisfied with knowing. Left to right. No problem. He watched the demonstration, still not quite managing to get overly excited about it, and then when the instruction was given, he went up and got a rabbit, absent-mindedly snuggling the thing as he returned to his desk.
What was the hat going to look like? Could the colour be adjusted? He supposed these questions would be answered soon enough. For now though, scratching the bunny ears, and waiting for further instruction was enough, and West sat there looking distracted.

Asher took notes over every step the professor was demonstrating. He jotted down a picture of the wand movement and made sure to note that it was not necessary to petrify the rabbit before preforming the spell.
Once instructed to do so, Asher made his way to pick up a rabbit and returned to his place in class, ready for the next step.

Total awesomeness, she now had Cassia standing next to her. Seat buddies, obviously. She grinned and gave her a little nudge. Now she was less less likely to fall asleep and get kicked out. This was all working out wonderfully if you asked her. Lex didn't speak though. The Professor was strict on that kind of thing as as much as she probably wouldn't mind taking an early lunch all that much she didn't want Cassia being kicked out too.
When they were allowed to sit she flopped down and did that listening thing. From what she gathered they'd be making hats...from rabbits. Neat. That explained what was in the box. Now she didn't even have to ask.
Next to her, Cassia was taking notes. Even better!! She could get them from her later. Though, this kinda meant less need for her to pay attention to detail. The Snake would take it all down. Lex focused her attention on the box. Seeing as she didn't have any questions, she would wait for the main event which came shortly after everyone else's questions were answered.
Bunny!!
Could she keep one? Like...not as a hat but a legit pet THAT FELIX WOULD LEAVE ALONE. She'd ask after class was done. For now ahe watched the spell--wait what?? Botros was NOT becoming a ghost. Nope. The Professor would live forever and give her shoulder pats until the day she graduated thank you very much.
Once instructed to, Lex hopped out of her seat and headed to the box to retrieve a rabbit. Ooo! Fluffy one! She grabbed the spotted one she liked best and gave it snuggles on the way back to her seat. She was seriously keeping this thing and not as a hat either. Just saying.

Okay good. So she could definitely change the bunny into another kind of hat. Maybe a fedora hat, because those kinds of hats are pretty cool too but it weren't exactly suited for the winter season that was coming up close. Alright then. Kat wrote that down in her parchment too. Lepus Caput. Rabbit / bunny into hat. Any kind of hat. Everything she knew about it, like the wand movement and stuff.
After scribbling on her parchment, Kat stood up and went to take a bunny. They were cute... and hopefully they didn't bite. Maybe that was the use of the Petrificus Totalus part of the thing. She took one back to her seat. Yeah.
No pooping or peeing, please. We don't appreciate them.

Nothing was strange to Józsua in having to turn up to class neat and tidy. He was at all times anyway so no extra effort was required for Professor Bellaire's class.
Transfiguring rabbits into hats...
Hmm...
Sounded interesting, although a fluffy angora top hat didn't really sound like Józsua's 'style'. Still, it would be good to learn a new incantation and some new magic. No animal cruelty. Good. Cos that would be a no go for Józsua. He listened to the professor and the instructions, jotting down the incantation on his parchment.
'Lepus Caput'
Urgh.. But they had to handle the rabbits? The boy wasn't keen. His mouth curled into slight disgust as he collected one of the fluffy things and took it back to his desk, letting out a sneeze as he returned. Fluffy fur... no..
“ACHOO!”
Another... aaaaand another. The rabbit on his desk jumped and he had to grab at it and hold onto it to stop it hopping away in terror.
Euh..

Rabbits.
Ella's mind immediately went to Sir Treyen and Miss Ellie and she smiled faintly, though she wasn't sure what either of them would think about them turning the poor little things into top hats. At least Professor Bellaire had said that it wouldn't hurt them, that was something.
She took note of the incantation and said it to herself several times, trying to get a feel for it. The wand movement was simple enough so she didn't bother trying that. As for what was said about Professor Botros, Ella's eyes widened and she frowned. One did not joke about Botros freezing to death. You just didn't. Badger not amused over here. Nope.
Standing up, the seventeen year old smoothed her uniform and headed to the front, mindful of her classmates who were currently doing the same. She had a horrible habit of bumping into people and she'd try very hard not to do that this year. Mhm.
Picking up one of the small rabbits, the blonde smiled warmly and held it to her chest. It squirmed a bit so she pet it gently between the ears as she made her way back to her desk. "Don't worry, little one. I've got you."
Once she was sitting again, Ella watched as the little rabbit hopped around her desk, careful not to let it fall off the edge. She was conflicted about this lesson, that was for sure. She didn't want a rabbit top hat, no matter how warm.

Tora waited a bit before going up to get her bunny. She had wanted to see if any of the other students would practice when they got theirs, but no. Everyone was just getting a bunny. She should really slow down, she shouldn't be so eager to Transfigure things. She was just so excited! There was another reason why she had waited. One that she wouldn't admit even to herself. She was scared. Not scared of the bunny of course, but scared of all those people crowding her, pressing in. It was just better to wait until the crowd died down.
At last she stood up and went to get her rabbit. She peered into the box and saw one a bit smaller than the rest. How cute! She reached in and picked the teeny thing up, cupping it in both her hands. At least she didn't have to take care of it after class though. It would probably die or else get seriously damaged. That was why she had an owl as a pet. they could feed and generally take care of themselves. If she had any other animal, it would probably starve. That being said she loved Zebop (her owl) to the end and would never purposely mistreat him.
She would feel bad if she had to petrify this little rabbit! Maybe she could manage to do the spell with a moving (adorable) little bundle. She made her way back to her seat and waited for class to continue, stroking the little bunny all the while.

Did Bellaire... have something against rabbits? And pygmy puffs? They weren't bad, right? Though he was quite fond of puppies, which were completely different to rabbits and pygmy puffs. Did this mean that it wouldn't work with puppies? ... Except... that Ravenclaw girl from Astronomy had asked something about turning humans into hats which Bellaire went on to confirm.
... Girls were scary sometimes...
Alec shook his head and turned his attention back towards the demonstration. It was probably a good thing Ellie wasn't here in this lesson. She might not have liked this whole rabbit turning into hat thing. ... And... BLINK. The boy didn't know how to feel about that joke about Botros. It was just a joke, yeah? And not a hint at cold, brutal murder or something? ... No. Of course not!
... Moving on... the seventeen year old stood up and headed towards the front. Rabbit... rabbit... he stood there looking around at the selection before grabbing hold of one as gently as possible. Grinning to himself, he turned around and started heading back towards his seat, rabbit in hand. They weren't bad, these creatures. Not at all. He sat down again and held onto the rabbit, just in case it decided to hop away.
Now... they just had to wait for the next step, yeah?

So now he had to get a rabbit. Weird but okay. Nigel did want to transfigure a rabbit into a hat. The spell was simple enough. Though Nigel was sure he had used Caput for some other class in the past and it also involved hats. Nigel jotted down the spell in his piece of parchment and went up and took a bunny.
As long as the bunny stood still. This should be simple. Just do nothing out of the ordinary bunny.
Nigel started petting the bunny. He would until he got instructions on went to start the spell work.

They were going to be making Rabbit hats? How on earth would that come in handy? It's not like Fay had a bunch of rabbits lying around just waiting to be transformed into a hat, but nonetheless it was the first years first Transfigurations lesson, so she would try and keep an open mind.
Hmmm that must mean the big brown box is full of....rabbits?

So the rabbits were going to be alive.
So they weren't going to die, but would sit there as a hat and wait the human's pleasure. What if the human would keep it as a hat forever? The rabbit had a natural life span, and it would die without running on the grass, eating clover or having a friend. Forrest looked sick, and didn't watch half of the demonstration. Was the activity obligatory? Because he didn't think it was in accordance with animal rights, but he was also still so afraid of the Professor to speak more.

Minerva took her seat and listened as she got started. Looking at the spell she wrote it down on her parchment and then watched as she did the wand movement. Easy enough, right. Min didn't seem like this was going to be a hard lesson, but then something that the professor said made her look up. Yuck.. yuck to a cute adorable little bunny. Why on earth would the woman say yuck. She didn't like pygmy puffs either. Well this was just unfortunate because her pygmy puff was adorable and safely in her room.
She didn't have any questions so she sat as quiet as a mouse. No as quiet as a bunny a cute crinkled nose bunny. Listening to some of the other questions Minerva was eager to get her own, but then Bellaire said about a hat for Botros, she was going to turn the bunny back, right? She wasn't just going to leave it a hat. No.. they wasn't nice at all. Somethings at this school were just started to drive her a bit crazy, but she let it go and went to get her bunny.
Picking the adorable creature up she cradled it and pet it back to her seat. Not putting it on her desk yet she waited for the next instruction. She figured the bunny was much much safer on her lap then trying to hop away and Bellaire catch it.

Sigh, what did i get myself into this time.He should have told them no when they asked/told him he was going to Hogwarts in the fall but it had seemed too bothersome to argue with them so he had gone along . Now however he was realizing it had been a mistake coming to this school was much more troublesome.
Lifting his head off his desk he slowly rose and made his way over to the box of rabbits.
Taking in the little creatures that were before him he decide he would take the one curled up sleeping in the corner.
Well you seem to be the least troublesome. He said scooping the rabbit up in his arm.
Going back to his desk he set the creature down then gave his/her head a small pat,The animal woke up and gave him a wary glance before curling back up and going to sleep. He wasn't sure its gender and trying to find out would be asking for a bit of trouble so he retook his seat then went back to having his head rest on the desk.
He kept a watchful eye on the rabbit now technically in his charge it would be a real bother if it somehow escaped. Though that was unlikely it seemed to have his personality which in this case wasn't such a bad thing.now that he had thought about it he kinda liked the little thing .

Sophie sat there, wondering what the big deal was with holding a rabbit or letting it hop all over a desk. Sure, they weren't as clean as a freshly washed shirt, but...she didn't see why they were yucky either. Girly girls. She'd never understand them.
She watched as the spell was demonstrated. Poor ickle rabbit. She really did hope there was a reverse spell. She also wondered if the spell would wear off in time. What would happen if one second she was wearing a hat, and then the next second, there was a rabbit sitting on her head? She thought about this as she made her way to the rabbits to choose one for herself.
She chose the first one she came to, because if it was just going to be a hat soon anyway, it didn't matter what it looked like now. Then she made her way back to her seat, rabbit in tow.

Yuck? In all honesty, Angeal wasn't a huge fun of fluffy animals as well. He was more of a dragon fan, but he can't deny when something was cute like bunnies and especially pygmy puffs. His eyes twitched when the teacher performed the Full Body-Bind Curse on the hopping creature, but he understood. He would've probably done the same if he was in her position.
He went to pick a rabbit when Professor Bellaire mentioned the reason why she intended to give the transfigured hat to Professor Botros. Angeal snorted, trying to refrain from breaking into laughter as he returned to his place.

Sarah was hard at work at her notes. She had them done in such a way that it would be easier to learn for OWLs. So now this rabbit trick.. were they making another circus this year?
Sarah made her way over to the front, and carefully reached furth to get a rabbit. It squirmed in her hands a bit.. yet Sarah was not ready to preform a spell on it. That would be cruel. Her school had rabbits, and Sarah got to take one home over the weekend. Fed it carrots.
She went back to her desk and while she waited for the class to continue, she stroked the fur.

Benzi watched closely as the teacher performed the spell. Simple. Easy, even. Benzi was confident. This was Transfiguration. He HAD to be good at it.
Standing from his seat at the front of the classroom, Benzi shuffled behind others as he went to grab a rabbit, trying not to stroke it too much as he sat back down again, instead choosing to pat its head so that it wouldn't just hop away.
A question suddenly occurred to him, and he bit his lip. Mummy would be able to answer this question, surely. But she wasn't here. She'd probably want him to ask this rabbit hating teacher instead of her. So he raised his hand.
"Professor, what does it feel like to be transfigured?"

Adi watched as Professor Bellaire handled the rabbit. He hardly believe she was wearing a glove to hold it. Hold up! Did she just call it a rodent? Okay maybe it did belong to the rodent family, he didn't know, but come on! The rabbit was so cute and cuddly! He shook his head.
Now, the first year focused as the woman demonstrated the spell. Wow! That was so cool! But the poor rabbit...He felt sorry for it. And now they were going to have to do the same! Ugh!
Feeling slightly reluctant, Adi got up and followed the others to collect a rabbit. He gently grabbed the first one he saw, a nice fluffy one. He returned to his seat and set it down on his desk, not caring if it hopped all over.

Huh. A top hat with twitching rabbit ears actually would be pretty cool, if done intentionally. Which... Sophie would totally do. But there was still that whole factor of feeling like Bellaire might turn on her at any moment for something like sneezing and disrupting the class that kept her from seeing it as something to achieve. Maybe outside of class.
Sophie tried not to frown at the older Slytherin girl who got talked down to about Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration. That... sounded vaguely familiar from her textbook - it had been one of only two textbooks she managed to skim all the way through before school started - but she didn't remember what it had said. Whoops. She was glad she hadn't gotten picked on for that one.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! A BUNNY! ...Wait, not as disgusting as a pygmy puff?!?! WHAT? Pygmy puffs weren't gross! How dare she insult her baby Jazz! The Ravenclaw frowned when the professor froze the bunny, already feeling regretful toward the poor thing and the one SHE was going to have to transfigure. Poor little cutiepies.
...What? Sophie shot a nervous look at Mo. Botros was going to freeze to death? Why? It didn't seem THAT cold outside yet. Did she have something out for the old guy? Whatever the case, Sophie's eyes narrowed at the professor's comments. She was just rude and inconsiderate in general, wasn't she? Ugh. Not making eye contact with the woman, the first year retrieved a furry, cuddly bunny and returned to her seat as quickly as possible and already found herself hoping class would be over sooner rather than later so she could get AWAY from this professor. She held the rabbit close to her and slouched over so she could nuzzle it gently with her chin.

Oh, the third year old was really, really relieved that the animals weren’t in pain when she used the spell on the because… If she would have hurt them she didn’t wanted to use the spell on the poor and cute little rabbits! But… WHY had asked Forrest the same question as she had? She didn’t had heard him speak, maybe she had been too distracted by the poor little rabbits to notice him while he had spoke, but… Pff, Forrest was stupid so she didn’t wanted to do the same things as he was doing! Okay, she didn’t hated him like before, BUT... She didn’t wanted to do the same things as he did! She was MUCH better than he, and prettier of course…
“OHHHH! He is so cute!” whispered Sonea silent while she watched how the professor took a cute little rabbit out of the box! But… why was the professor acting as if the rabbit was disgusting? The rabbit was soooooo cute! But… OH! Why was the professor so mean for that cute little rabbit?! She stared at the professor and decided that she didn’t liked her, she was a mean, MEAN professor who hated cute little rabbits and used a spell to petrify the cute little rabbit! That was really mean...
When she had showed them how to use the spell she stood up and took one of the cute little rabbits. She had a LOVELY little rabbit and she smiled. “I call you Sweetie because you are really sweet” whispered Sonea to her rabbit while she walked back toward her desk.

Caleb was happy that his beloved Beans was spared the transfiguration spell, but bunnies? Caleb loved animals and wasn't sure if could do that to a cute little BUNNY! But then he remembered that the professor knew what she was doing - she wouldn't submit them to animal cruelty! It HAD to be safe. She wouldn't let them do it if it wasn't safe.
So he went up, selected one of the fluffy white rabbits, and brought it back to his desk. Aww, the poor fellow was scared. Caleb didn't blame it. He was sure this wasn't the first time they'd been used as guinea pigs.

She had his attention. Cutty watched as Professor Bellaire petrified the bunny. Petrificus Totalus. He committed that to memory and tried to mimic her wand movements silently to himself. He wormed his way to the bunny box and watched as most of the students drew theirs out gently. There must have been a waaay to do it. Looking down into box, Cutty put both of his hands in and plucked up the fluffy, skiddish creature by the middle and it immediately began to squirm and kick. He held out the rabbit away from his body speed walking back to his desk where he took a seat and held the rabbit down with his hands, deciding that Petrificus Totalus might have been more advanced if Istvan wasn't even attempting it, though he was having a similar issue with his bunny.

Jacques couldn't understand why professor Bellaire was so against the rabbit. She didn't seem afraid of the thing so it must've been that she wasn't a very soft woman. Anyone could dislike something yet treat it with respect and even a little care. The woman petrified the terrified bunny. She was cold he decided. He didn't mind but that characteristic wasn't something he liked in women. Even though he couldn't reciprocate certain things -not properly- he liked the idea of being normal with a woman.
He stood and orderly made his way to the box to take a bunny. He didn't take his time to select because he thought he was already taking his own sweet time and he didn't particularly want anyone to get annoyed with him. Then there'd be a scene then there'd be unsolicited attention.
No.
He selected quickly and holding the shaking animal to his stomach walked back to his seat petting it gently. Animals took to him, most animals at least. He didn't seem to have a good grasp on cats.

Rabbits...
Tobias felt his lower lip wibble at the news that they would be turning RABBITS into hats. He quickly sucked his lip back in, however, and stood and walked to the front of the room to retrieve one. He wasn't sure what was wrong with him, or why this made him so sad. Professor Bellaire had SAID that the rabbits wouldn't be harmed, and he didn't have any reason to disbelieve her. Perhaps it was the idea that they would be forced to be still for as long as the caster decided, and that could be FOREVER. To be honest, the possibility of being forced to keep still for any length of time scared Toby almost as much as dementors did, so he felt awful that he had to do it to a rabbit.
After he picked a rabbit from the box, vaguely worrying about the fur that would be left on his clothes, and feeling thankful that he didn't have an Astronomy lesson after this, Tobias went back to his desk, holding his rabbit in his arms and sort of snuggling it carefully, so as to sort of reassure it.
He stroked the rabbit's head and suuuuuuuuuper soft ears and watched its twitchy nose as it looked around.
Toby decided right then that he loved the bunny.

The look on the professor’s face was obvious that she didn’t like bunnies. I hope this was not animal cruelty. Petra rolled her eyes got up and walked to the front and picked up a bunny. The bunny was squirming to get away and who could blame it, the other bunny was sitting as a hat on the desk. Petra went to her seat and sat down petting the bunny. “Professor how long do the objects stay transfigured? And can this transfiguration work on humans or just small animals? “ Petra continued to pet the bunny, she was not ready just yet to turn it into a hat.

Kace didn't like the way the rabbit reacted to being petrified. He never really liked experimenting on animals. But if this is what he's gotta do for the lesson then this is what he's gotta do. He went up to the front of the classroom and asked a question to the professor.....
"Professor would the rabbit get hurt being petrified? I really don't wanna harm him"

They finally could see the bunnies. Bunnies were cuute! Cassia approved of that very much, and so did Lex obviously. Cassia smiled at her mutely. Look at them, not being allowed to talk, how cruel. Could they survive like that. They'll see. She had her quill in her hand still but wasn't scribbling anything. She didn't need to write down that Pygmy puffs were disgusting. She had the feeling that all the firsties would remember that and repeat it ages to come. Besides, opinions yeah?
And ouch..poor bunny. That must have not been pleasant. She wasn't intending on stunning it.
Once Professor Bellair was done, Cassia followed Lex to the box and examined the cute bunnies. She took her time choosing one that when she finally picked one up, she saw that Lex was already seated.
The snake slid back into her seat as she stroke the bunny's fur. So adorable!

Claudette always found the idea of animal transfiguration to be somewhat odd.. though she did suppose it could be useful. Like making an angora hat. She stared longingly at the fashionable hat after Bellaire transfigured the rabbit. And honestly, how else would you get a fine, fur item without transfiguration? She wouldn't want to hurt the poor creature just for fashion.
The 16 year old got up from her seat and selected one of the rabbits from the box, reaching in to pick it up. It squirmed in her arms for a moment, settling down quickly as she petted it and began cooing at it. What a good little rabbit. She carried it back to her desk, setting it down on the top of it as she took her seat. It was a fairly docile thing so she felt no need to cast any spells, deciding to simply wait till they were to begin.

EEEEEEP. Bunnieeeesssss.
Marigold liked bunnies. She liked their fluff. She could remember a certain incident last year, with a fellow ice cream crazed puff{HeyJu}, trying to feed her bunny ice cream. She giggled slightly as she went up to the bunnies, selecting one with a fluffy brownish coat.
BUNNIEH.

Mo actually kind of sort of thought he might have a panic attack at the sight of Bellaire holding up that poor rabbit with a look of disdain and disgust. Like... that wasn't how you HELD a rabbit, and the poor thing could tell she didn't like him, and was it a moral quagmire to turn living creatures into inanimate objects?
He'd have to read up on it, because it seemed cruel. It was totally against their will. And rabbits did have will, because Titus the ninja bunny often let Mo know that he disapproved of capes and tap shoes by biting him. All will.
Still, Mo found himself grabbing a rabbit and cradling it against his chest as he returned to his desk. Ugh. "Professor, is there a way to practice this spell on something that doesn't have a face?"

Profesor Bellaire, permitted herself to run her hand over the top of the hat. So very soft mhm. Rabbits were a lot more tolerable as hats.
Ah questions.
"Students." There was an exasperated sigh. "This spell doesn't cause any pain to the rabbits, neither does petrifying it. In fact when they're transfigured they'll have no idea they're even transfigured so just get a move on. And like I said earlier the spell last until you reverse it"
She stood before her next. "If you've all collected a rabbit from the box, you may go ahead and start. I don't want any fooling around in my class either, if you're successful with the spell, get another rabbit and keep practicing."
ooc: Have fun be creative, the more post and the more creative you are the more points you get. Try not to almost kill off any characters..also no rabbits were harmed in the organizing of this class. ^_^

Oh goody! The rabbit will be just fine then! Though Adi wasn't sure he'd rather a hat over it. Nope. He'd rather have the rabbit as itself. Sighing, he picked up his wand as well as the rabbit which was almost at the edge of his desk. He replaced it in the middle, glanced at his notes. Better practice the incantation first, right?
''Lepus Caput, Lepus Caput, Lepus Caput, Lepus Caput,'' the elven year old muttered, watching the rabbit slowly hop over to the edge of his desk once more. "Uh uh. I don't think so.'' He gently grasped the rabbit and set it in front of him. Right. The wand movement was simple. Much like an upside down U. Time to try it out!
''Lepus Caput!'' Adi said moving his wand in the upside down U.

Rabbits were pests anyways so West had no qualms about the task ahead, even if he was sitting there stroking the bunny that he'd grabbed. So that it trusted him and such. And it apparently did since it wasn't fussing and hadn't pooped on him or anything.
Lepus Caput?
West repeated it and eyed the bunny. "Lepus Caput." No wand yet. "Lepus Caput." Easy enough to say. He got his wand out and with one hand put the rabbit on his desk. It flopped around a bit but otherwise seemed content to stay put. Still, West thought that it was a good idea to make sure it didn't get any ideas and run off, so he cast Petrificus Totalus on the rabbit, watching as it stiffened and froze.
Right. Now to make it a hat yes? He stared at the rabbit, trying to picture how his hat would look. Focus was key.

Well, no, Lottie wasn't exactly a rabbit person herself, but the way Bellaire talked about rabbits... well, if you don't like them why bring them? Yeah? Logic. Pygmy puffs, though. Lottie just STARED and hoped she'd brought Mags because she was positive her pygmy puff would bite the Professor if instructed to do so.
It was Botros' sentence that got her to BLINK. So many wrong things in such little time!
Also, like, why would she want to make a HAT? And using a rabbit for it? This woman was... yeah, we'll keep an eye on you from now on. Airey would be scared of her, right? Probably. It didn't matter if she said the rabbit won't be feeling anything because HOW did she know, right? RIGHT? In her mind, Lottie was merely thinking of her pets so... she didn't want to do this... REALLY NOT... yet she still took the rabbit. For show.
"Lepus Caput." Right. She wasn't using her wand right now, though. Just saying the spell. And the wand movement? Noted. Only Lottie didn't seem to be very interested in trying it, she seemed more interested in calming down the rabbit.
Where did Bellaire get the rabbits from? And where were they going after the lesson?

Throughout since the start of the lesson, after having been seated down and dully taking notes on the new transfiguration spell they were learning. Wade furrowed his brows blinking at the.. unique.. handling of the rabbit, guess Professor Bellaire wasn't a fan of rabbits.. or many animals, after hearing about the pygmy puffs. Hm. Oh wells, it was pretty cool to know it.
Wade already had his rabbit safely cradled in his arms like a newborn baby, since it was good practice before he got to handle his upcoming siblings in the summer. There was no rush in using the spell right away, since he like any other new spell needed to get use to the pronunciation so he could say it clearly. "Leh-pus Cah-put."..*pets the rabbit* "Lepus Cah-put."... *pets some more* Lepus Caput." Not difficult at all.
So, Wade last gently placed the rabbit on his desk before taking his wand out. He didn't feel like petrifying it, instead he continually pet it gently, trying to keep it stationary and relaxed, with no urge to hop away. As soon as it was relaxed, then he could make it into a nice hat.

Right.
Okay.
Tobias continued to carefully stroke the rabbits soft soft head, and watching his snuffling nose. Ugh, so cute. Why WHYYYYYY DID HE HAVE TO TURN IT INTO A HAT?
One thing Tobias had succeeded in not doing, however, was naming the bunny. Boy, he'd made that mistake before.
But stiiiiiill.
Okay, so first things first, practice the incantation, without the wand.
Lepus Caput... rabbit head... hehe. Was he the only one who found that funny? Yes? Okay, fine.
"Lepus Caput..." Tobias said to himself, staring at the rabbit, imagining it becoming a top hat. He didn't know what angora was, but he knew what a top hat looked like so it shouldn't be too difficult. "Lepus Caput."
The more he thought about it, the more Tobias thought that maybe it wasn't so bad. The rabbit was sentient now, but that would stop when it was a hat. But... if it stayed a hat forever, wouldn't that be exactly like killing it? Hmm... negative thought. Best to not think about it. Tobias preferred to think that the spell would, eventually, be lifted by Professor Bellaire, if not himself. Y'know. On the sly.
"Lepus Caput."
Okay, he'd got the incantation. It wasn't really that hard. Now onto the wand movement.
After another little snuggle with Terry, he picked up his wand to try that without the incantation.
Wait.
...
He'd only gone and named it.

Yeah, Kat sure hope it didn't hurt the rabbits. That was because she had a heart, even if she was a Slytherin. But seeing Professor Bellaire demonstrating it earlier in front of the class, though, Kat was assured that it wouldn't hurt the rabbit. It didn't even seem to know that it was transfigured into a hat. Oh well, it was an interesting spell to learn so Kat was up for this.
Lepus Caput. Yeah. And the upside down U wand movement? That was easy enough.
If she broke Lepus Caput down into two words, it would mean rabbit (or hare) and head. Kat... didn't know how she knew, but she totally made a guess based on the effect of the spell. She did the same with the previous spells in classes, so that it could be easier to know what the spell would be able to do. But anyway, practice was supposed to happen now. "Lepus Caput.... Lepus Caput..." Yeah, that was a bit easy to say.
The hand movement, she'd have to try that for a bit too.

So, the Professor claimed that it didn't hurt any rabbit.
Hmm. HMM. Forrest debated whether or not to believe her. He decided to. She was a professor, after all. She ought to be honest. If not, if was her shame.
He got up and grabbed a cute, totally black rabbit. He returned to his seat and petted the animal while holding it close to his heart. He wanted it--Robbie--to see he wasn't going to hurt him! (He didn't know whether Robbie was a boy or a girl, but he assumed.) After a minute of cooing and petting to make sure he delivered his promise of peace thoroughly, he gently put it on the table to get his wand from his bag. Robbie seemed to have understood his message, because he didn't try to run away. Forrest wanted to make sure he REALLY got it right though, so he spent the first minute with practising the word, and the second with practising the wand movement.
Rabbit. Robbie.
Daddy Forrest's gonna take good care of ya even though you'll be a hat.

Bunny rabbits! How fun was that? Well, Sophie thought it was fun because she already knew the bunnies wouldn't be harmed. It was Transfiguration, after all! They all had done tons of Transfiguration on other animals and well... none of them died or anything, right? It was all good! AND! Sophie had her own bunny rabbit, and she could practise all she wanted!
Though she'd never wear her own pet, of course. Not that nice to keep it as a hat for a long time, was it? Not in her opinion, at least. But she had to admit it was a useful spell, yep!
Sitting back down after she got a rabbit from the box, Sophie tried to hold it with one hand as she unpocketed her wand. Having Brady as a pet for over 3 years now made Sophie develop some bunny handling skills, heh! Well... kind of. At least she was able to hold it still with one hand; no need to petrify it!
What was the spell again? She looked up to the board and read it out loud. "Lepus Caput." The Hufflepuff said without doing any movement with her wand. She was first going to get the incantation right. "Lepus." Hah, funny word. "Lepus Caput. Lepus... Caput. Lepus." Lepus. Hehehe!

Left to right, left to right. Tora wanted to make sure that she got it right on the first try. Ok now to review the spell! She carefully placed her wand down so as to not make any accidental magic and said clearly, "Lepus Caput". Now all she had to do was transform the rabbit. The hard part.
Since the rabbit was not given a name, he decided that it should be Rabbit. He was a rather dull rabbit who could not think and move at the same time, so he had remained very still when one of the Large Creatures came to pick him up. Now he was done thinking about his name. Now he could move.
Apparently the rabbit had other plans. Jumping out off her desk it started full speed for the door! Tora grabbed her wand and was just bout to say the petrifying spell when that silly rabbit san in between desks. That was just no fun, now was it. She couldn't use the spell because she might hit a student, and she honestly didn't think Professor Bellaire would appreciate that. Nor would any of the students hit for that matter.
She casually stood, trying not to be too conspicuous and wandered towards the desks the rabbit was hiding behind. She "dropped" her pencil so she could bend down and look under the desks for the rabbit without suspicion. There! "Petrificus Totalus!" the rabbit moved two seconds before the spell hit him. Billywig rot!
By some stroke of luck, or due to the fact that this rabbit was stupid, he came running right towards her anyway. "Petrificus Totalus" she whispered and the rabbit froze. She reached under the desk ("Sorry, excuse me, just lost my rabbit," she said to the student sitting there) and pulled out the troublemaker by the heel. Plopping it back onto her desk she readied her wand. She was going to get this spell!

Annabeth looked at the rabbit. It was so beautiful and fluffy. While Professor Bellaire had told them the spell wouldn't do it any harm, she wasnt' sure and wouldn't want to see the rabbit screaming or bleeding, or turned to a half hat half pet. The odd image of a half hat half rabbit - a hat with big ears and big feet jumping around - popped in her mind and upset her stomach. She placed her wand on the table and made the movement like an upside down U several times with her empty hand, pointing to the rabbit with her forefinger as if it were her own wand. She wanted to practice before hurting the rabbit.

It was time to start. "Hey there, little bunny. This isn't going to hurt. Professor Bellaire promised." Asher placed his hopping little friend on the table in front of him and pulled out his wand. But, before he had time to preform the spell, the bunny hopped across the table, onto a chair, then down to the floor.
Quickly going after the furry creature, Asher grabbed it and headed back to his seat. For his next attempt, he was smart in keeping one hand on the bunny until he was ready to preform the spell.
"Lepus Caput!" he commanded while making a rainbow shaped gesture with is wand. Nothing. "Lepus Caput!" he commanded again. Nothing. Asher picked up the bunny and placed it in his lap so he could look over his notes again.

That was quite interesting. To transfigure a bunny into a hat, though she did feel rather guilty having to use the cute lil thing. Although, Professor Bellair did say that they wouldn't feel or be harmed. Why couldn't they use it on owls?! Cassia'd gladly give her owl up for the cause. Anyone was welcome to transfigure it into anything. Shoes if they wished. And thinking of that, she made a mental note to ask about what an owl could be transfigured into. It'd be very convenient to just forget to turn it back. Yes, totally.
Right now she had a bunny to turn into a hat, though.
So far, the fury white creature was being a good boy, because he didn't squirm much. He moved alright but at least he remained in her lap. And yes she decided he was a boy and no she wasn't giving him a name. No need to get attached to a hat. In fact, no need to get attached to anything, yeah? Always better that way.
"Lep-us.. Ca-put." She said drawing the words out carefully. Had she been transfiguring any object she would have gone right ahead and tried. But there was a living being involved so she was going to practice a bit. She didn't want anything to go wrong. She grabbed a quill and waved it in the air drawing an arch, left to right. Not that complicated. Still, a bit of practice hurt no one.

"Lepus Caput... Lepus Caput.... Leh-pus Cah-put..." Kat continued to say the incantation under her breath, even trying to break the words down into syllables to make it easier to pronounce. Although saying 'Lepus Caput' sounded funny in a way. Kat didn't know why it was funny, but that was just her. Or maybe someone else found it funny too. Lepus Caput. HEHEHE. Merlin, that sounded so immature of her. Okay, she'd stop now. She had a rabbit to transfigure into an angora hat.
And a bit of practice with the upside down U hand movement as well. Looked like an arch and it wasn't too hard to practice. She'd try them all together later but for now, Kat was making sure that her rabbit didn't go insane. Yeah, she was stroking its fur and petting it, It was tame for now, but if it started getting crazy later she'd have to use Petrificus Totalus on it. Sighs.

Adi's rabbit looked like a... rabbit. Still. It had not changed so much as the fur colour. Meh. He knew concentration was extremely important, having found that out in Charms lesson. If he wanted to do this right, he'd have to focus on a top hat in his mind.
So, the little badger did just that. He imagined a black top hat. Right. Time to try this again! ''Lepus Caput!'' He followed this up with the correct wand movement while concentrating hard on the picture in his mind.
Looooook! The rabbit was transforming! The rim of the hat formed and slowly, the middle was forming as well! The hat was rising...rising...but hold up! Something was wrong! The hat still had the rabbit's ears sticking out on each side! "Oh man! That looks so cool!'' Maybe he could start the fashion trend of top hats with rabbit ears? Haha. Like that would work out. He needed to get this rabbit top hat back to a rabbit.
It took Adi a moment to realise that he did not know how to do that. Uummm. "Err, can someone help me get this back to a rabbit, please?'' he asked, looking around hopefully.

Ella was feeling completely conflicted about this. Like...Professor Bellaire had said that the rabbit wouldn't be feeling any pain or anything but she wasn't the one being made into a hat, yeah? And what would a Bellaire hat look like anyway? Probably all neat and sharp and stylish. Probably uncomfortable too. And then here was this adorable rabbit hopping around her desk with those little eyes and a little twitchy nose and Ella had made a HUGE mistake because she'd already named the thing in her head. Benji, she'd call him Benji. Only you weren't supposed to name things you were going to wear on your head and UGH. This was not her favorite Transfiguration lesson. And eyes for the best friend because WHEREHAVEYOUBEEN,WOMAN? Long lost bestie was getting brows.
Shaking her head as if to clear all these thoughts from her mind, the badger bit her lip and eyed the rabbit sadly. The blonde reached out and gently stroked him between the ears, those soft adorable ears. Wibble. She was so sorry about this, y'know? So sorry. "Petrificus Totalus." Chin!wobble. Maybe...if it wasn't moving, it wouldn't be as hard to turn it into a hat. ...Maybe. Poor Benji.

This was archaic, yeah?
She did know that, even though she had legs that went on for days, it didn't mean that she didn't look any less crazy flopping the rabbit around like she was right now. Sure, did Ascanius like rabbits all that much? Nah. But on the same token they hadn't really done much to him as well. S'like they existed in the same world, but didn't really hang out much. If that made a lick of sense.
And he also thought that was the ugliest hat he had ever seen. S'not a good look. Not even on Professor Bellaire who was good looking. Smiiiirk.
He didn't argue, though, as he collected a dude rabbit and brought him back to his sitting area. Sup rabbit. Sorry about making you a hat and all, yeah?
Drawing his wand out, he kept the rabbit cradled in his arms as he practiced the spell aloud, "Lepus Caput. Lepus Caput. Leh-pus Cah-poot."
Cool, that'd do. Kind of casually he pointed his wand at the thing and uttered, "Petrificus Totalus" Freeze up, little man. You don't wanna be moving for this next part.

... Oh! So the rabbits weren't going to be hurt, then? That was probably a really great thing because the idea of hurting these creatures didn't sit well with the Hufflepuff. What would his Dad say if he went home and told him this? The guy would be FURIOUS. Just like he had been when Alec had told him about the dementors and the ice cream incident from last year.
... Yeah... there was no need to think on that.
He scratched behind the rabbit's ears for a moment or two before setting it down on the table. He took out his wand and then... frowned. Leh-pus Cah-put. And upside down U. And... it wan't going to hurt the rabbit. Not at all. Although, the sight of someone pointing a wand at you was probably going to be scary enough on its own. So... he sent mental vibes to the rabbit. It probably wasn't going to work but you never know, right? Yeah?
... What was he doing?!
The Hufflepuff shook his head and set his wand down. First... the incantation. "Leh-pus... Cah-put..." That wasn't too hard to say. "Leh-pus... Leh-pus... Leh-pus... Cah-put... Cah-put... Cah-put..." Not hard at all. "Lepus... Caput... Lepus Caput... Lepus Caput!" There. That was good enough, right?

Now came the fun part of the class. Lex took a glance around at all the buny activist in the room. Merlin, they worried too much. The Professor said the rabbits would be fiiine and if they were so worried the rabbit would die a hat, why not just change it back? This was all practice. The Professor didn't say they'd have to keep it that way forever.
Alexa looked down at her rabbit. Going against her better judgement she'd decided to name him Mr. Snuggles. There were only so many creatures you could give a terrifying name to. Her and Cassia's spider could have a vicious name, but this little nose twitcher? Not so much? He could be a plush toy. Maybe she should have asked Cassia to name him for her. It would be of no consequence this time.
"Alright, what'd you say we get this over with?" She asked, grinning brightly at the furry little thing. The nose twitch it gave in response was good enough for her.
"Lepus Caput!" No petrifying first...he was a well behaved bunny--oooh and a pretty hat too! Ahem, but still a bunny and she would change him back. Mhm. But first...
It took Adi a moment to realise that he did not know how to do that. Uummm. "Err, can someone help me get this back to a rabbit, please?'' he asked, looking around hopefully.
Wasn't that the little firstie who'd tried bribing her with candy? She watched him for a moment, seeing what he might have needed help with. His rabbit was a hat. It was meant to do that, yeah? He said back...he wanted it a rabbit again then? Alright then. Lex gave a little pat to her bunny!hat before walking over to his desk.
"If you want to reverse it you just have to use reverto. Here, lemme show you, then the next time you make him a hat you can practice changing him back on your own, okay?" She asked patiently before raising her wand. "First is the wand movement." And she showed this to him a few times--slowly--so he could see how simple it was. "Then...reverto!" And just like that the hat went contorting again until it was a twitchy bunny.
"You think you got that?" Reverto was one of her first learned spells, but only because she kept messing up and needed to redo things back in her first year.

Benji just look so...still. Ella bit her lip and eyed him sadly, wondering if Sir Treyen would never speak to her again because of this. He'd probably never let her hold Luna or visit his bunnies and all of this was weighing heavily, y'know? Why did it have to be rabbits?
Decided she had to do something productive, the blonde looked away from the rabbit and practiced the incantation a few more times. She started off quietly at first, her voice raising only when she was confident she had it down.

Okay, so Adrienne probably shouldn't turn anyone into a hat. But still, the fact that she could, if she wanted to, was pretty empowering. Look at all of these petty humans! Look at how easy it is to make them into stylish, skin-covered accessories!
...yeah, she needed to get her thoughts back to class, and especially the rabbit that was squirming around in her hands. She let go of it with just one hand to grab her wand, but to her surprise it gave a particularly fierce wriggle and managed to hop its way onto the desk in front of her. "Petrificus Totalus!" she said quickly, and its front legs locked, its muscles tensed up, and it froze in place; the only thing moving was its small black eyes, which were creeping her out a bit anyway.
"Lepus Caput," Adrienne muttered under her breath and, confident that she could say it correctly, she did the wand movement once too. There, that was fairly simple. "Lepus Caput!" she said again, this time at the same time as she waved her wand at the stock-still rabbit, and... well, it sort of worked. Its facial features seemed to be gone, and its legs, and it was certainly much more round than it used to be, but a pair of ears and a fluffy white tail were still very obviously here. Humph.

As the professor talked, Adelaide looked down at the adorable little bunny in her arms. It had finally stopped fighting against her which was good. She still didn't like the idea of petrifying it or turning it into a hat. Even if Bellaire said it would be all right. Didn't need to have the guilt of hurting an innocent animal with her all day.
"Lepus Caput. Lepus Caput." She mumbled the spell under her breath a couple of times, making sure the pronunciation was right before she even attempted it on the little rabbit.
So practice time. Adelaide pet the little rabbit before setting it on her table. Surprisingly it didn't hop away, it just sat there. Looking at her trying to figure out why she'd stopped holding it. She pulled out her wand and pointed it at the rabbit. "I promise not to hurt you." She whispered to it as she got ready to practice the spell.
"Lepus Caput." She did the proper wand movement and everything, but the little rabbit was too smart for her. It started to hop away the second she started talking. "Petrificus totalus!" The spell hit the rabbit and it froze mid hop.
Adelaide felt horrible. But the professor said it was okay. And she needed the rabbit to be able to finish the lesson. She grabbed the petrified rabbit and sat it in front of her. She frowned and readied herself to do the spell again. "Lepus caput." The rabbit changed into a very pretty hat. She gave a slight smile, still feeling a bit guilty. Even if it was safe.

First thing Nigel had to remember was no more yawning while entering class. Second was he was thinking he would have to freeze or paralyze his rabbit before trying this spell. Dang, cat won't stop wandering his desk. Third, was remembering the name of the spell. Caput and something with a L. Lepus was it. Lepus Caput. "Lepus Caput Lepus Caput"
Now onto freezing Ser Pounce-a-lot. Sure why not name a rabbit after a cat. Plus Nigel liked the name. "Petrificus Totalus"
There now Nigel can transfigure Ser Pounce-a-lot peacefully.

He CLEARLY made a mistake while choosing the rabbit. This one was something similar to the Mad Hare in the muggle story book "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". If he didn't catch it earlier, the bloody furry thing would've ran all around the class!
Angeal was struggling with his hold on the rabbit as he tried to perform the spell on it. There was one other way... "Petrificus Totalus!" The rabbit stopped moving, froze into statue-like being and he put it on his table. He made the wand movement the teacher demonstrated earlier, took a deep breath and muttered "Lepus Caput!"
The hat looked decent enough. Angeal picked it up to take a closer look, then threw it back onto the table, startled. "Good Merlin!" exclaimed the first year, pointing at the hat. The hat looked pretty normal except for the un-transfigured, moving rabbit ear.

Okay, so she was ready to roll now? Hmm...
Sophie glanced down at her rabbit, suddenly a little unsure of her ability to successfully cast this spell. She'd just seen one demonstration and...well, she didn't think that'd be enough. A whole rabbit was at stake here!
Just as that thought left her mind, a nearby rabbit pounced across a desk, and her own rabbit responded by jumping a few feet high and then landing on the next desk. Sophie grew wide-eyed and reached for her rabbit, but the animal was on the run now. "Err, what's that spell again? The one to stop it?" she asked no one in particular.
Petrifi... Total... Err.

Deep breath. Concentrate. "Lepus Caput" she said clearly, moving her wand in the rainbow shape from left to right. Since the rabbit was petrified, she was unsure if she had actually managed to transfigure it into a hat. Otherwise the rabbit would have stopped squeaking, and she would have known if she succeeded without the daunting task of actually looking at her hat creation.
She peeked open one eye and saw a white blur. She squeezed her eyes shut again. What if it hadn't transformed at all? No, that was ridiculous. Her transfiguration spells always worked to some degree. She opened her eyes a little bit wider this time to see what had actually become of the troublesome rabbit. Well. It was certainly a hat. There was no doubt that what was now sitting on her desk was a hat, albeit a rabbit colored, furry hat. Hey, at least there were no ears! Still, she would have to try again. She didn't get it right the first time. She placed the hat to one side, disappointed, before standing up to get another bunny.
This time she would do it right!

"Petrificus Totalus," Adrienne said to the first year, but not until after she'd watched her struggle with the rabbit for a few moments. It was always good to see someone other than her having trouble with dumb things. Heh. Eheh.
Right! She refocused on her own problem, which was this rabbit's refusal to actually become a hat. It stubbornly insisted on having ears. "Lepus Caput," she said again, firmly, concentrating on hats. Hat-hat-hat-hat-hat- okay, nothing was changing. Adrienne squinted closely at it. Perhaps... one of its ears was shorter now? By a little bit? She tried again, this time thinking about the wand movement, trying to make it a perfect upside-down U. To her satisfaction, the tail did a sort of wiggle and then simply became a lighter spot on the almost-hat she had there. It wasn't perfect, but it was an improvement.

Forrest was fairly sure he got the spell alright, so he grabbed Robbie again. He looked around for a moment to watch people, because he still didn't want to do this. But it was Professor Bellaire--currently, she wasn't bella at all FYI--and he wanted to help Hufflepuff win the cup again so... Robbie was to be sacrificed only for a while. As soon as his hat was graded, Forrest would return him back to his bouncy rabbit self.
He took a deep breath, readied his wand, and aimed at Robbie's little tail. He figured if he miscast the spell, the least useful part was his tail. He took another deep breath, drew his wand from left-to-right in an arch as was shown by the professor, and was saying in the process "Lepus Caput."
Did it work?

His rabbit was back to itself again! "Thanks a lot!'' Adi said. "I think I've got it now.'' He had to remember to give this girl some chocolate frogs some time.
Just then he heard that voice. Sophie Newell's. The spell to stop the bunny? Adi glanced over to her. "It's Petrificus totalus,'' he said.
Okay. Back to work. The eleven year old grabbed his rabbit. Why did it keep trying to escape? "Lepus Caput!'' he said clearly as he did the wand movement. Concentraaaaate!

It didn't work. But it didn't go horribly off, either. Just, nothing happened. Forrest was glad, actually, because burning Robbie would be such a trauma.
Anyways, back to the task at hand.
He took another deep breath, watched people again, and turned his gaze back at Robbie. He leaned forward to whisper into his ear.
"Don't worry buddy, I won't mess it up."
He was awfully determined too. He took another deep breath and did the wand movement while speaking the words. He aimed at his stomach this time. He waited.
And waited.
And waited...
...and it worked. There stood, now, a perfect black angora hat.

Minerva just sat there waiting to start her rabbit hat. This didn't seem to hard, the hardest part seemed to be getting the rabbit to sit still, which she didn't want to petrify the poor thing if she didn't have to even if it wouldn't hurt. When Bellaire gave them the go ahead Minerva looked down at her rabbit. "This won't hurt I promise. It will just tickle, maybe?" She could hope it would at least.
Setting the rabbit all her desk she didn't get her hands off when hop.. hop.. hip-pity hop. The rabbit was gone off the desk to the floor. Okay so this wasn't going to be as easy as she thought it would be. Reaching down and grabbing the rabbit she put it back on her desk. "Now Mr. or Mrs. Rabbit." She wasn't sure really which, but that didn't matter now did it.
Pulling her wand Minerva let go of the rabbit just to do the movement quickly "Lepus Caput" She thought she had gotten it, but the bunny took off the desk again. Gosh darn it this thing was fast. Getting up she went after the escaped rabbit.

There was really nothing else to do but try out the spell and Ella's heart just really wasn't in it. Unfortunately, she'd already paralyzed Benji so she really couldn't pretend he hopped away or something. Maybe...she could just hide him in her bag until later? But then he might get jostled around and that wouldn't be good either. Frown. She'd need to just get this over with. Yeah.
Eyeing the little guy sadly, the blonde did her best to imagine the hat that she was going to create. Concentration was key and she didn't want to have to do this more than once if she could help it. When she had a clear picture in her mind, she got her wand and focused on getting the spell correct.
Drawing the upside-down U shape, the blonde said clearly, "Lepus Caput!"

Alright so the bunnies won't be harmed. He felt better knowing that. At least he wasn't the only one concerned for his health. But it seemed the professor was annoyed answering the question but Kace had to know! Once he got his bunny, he was petting him. He seemed adorable...or it could be a she....Kace had no idea. But he wanted to name him. I guess he could name him...Hopper! Yup!
The bunny was wiggling his nose and twitching his ears. "Aww it is okay." he said sweetly and patted his ears gently and scratched his ears and his foot was tapping. He liked it. He had bunnies like this on the farm back home, so he knew their likes. Alright time for spell practice!
He was gonna practiced saying the spell first. He heard the professor say the spell and copied it down. Lepus Caput it was. Hmm..interesting spell. He kept saying it though. "Lepus Caput....Lepus Caput....Lepus Caput....Lepus Caput....Lepus Caput....Lepus Caput....Lepus Caput...." he said for a couple times.
Then it was time to petrify this rabbit. He didn't want any chances. Plus he was bouncing around on his desk. He even bounced right onto his lap. He smiled and rubbed his belly.

Gentle pets* It sure was a soft bunny.. warm bunny.. fuzzy little bunny.. His lips curved into a smile as he thought of that lullaby Minnie Mouse sang to him a lot. Maybe he could do the same to this one. This little one. Yes.. He cleared his throat before still petting and softly singing, "Hush little bunny, don't hop the desk.. Wadey's going to turn you into a nice fluffy hat.. And if that fluffy hat does not hop.. Then Wadey will never have to do this to you again."
Ehh, the lyrics could do some tweaking, but it make Fuzzy the bunny stop moving. Heh. Wade aimed his wand at Fuzzy the bunny, from the left to right drawing the upside down 'U' shape before saying clearly, "Lepus Caput." Fuzzy the bunny was being very good in behaving and not moving while he watched it transfigure into a nice hat.

"Petrificus Totalus," Adrienne said to the first year, but not until after she'd watched her struggle with the rabbit for a few moments. It was always good to see someone other than her having trouble with dumb things. Heh. Eheh.
Just then he heard that voice. Sophie Newell's. The spell to stop the bunny? Adi glanced over to her. "It's Petrificus totalus,'' he said.
Oh. Right...
"Err, thanks!" Sophie said, trying to give the two a proper thank you while still stretching for her rabbit. Why was the creature so hyper anyway?! Didn't it want to be turned into a nice hat? Heh.
Sophie decided that the best way to catch the rabbit would be to have her wand at the ready and sneak up on the creature from behind. This way, if she ever caught up with it, she'd be ready to cast. So she raised her wand and began to creep closer to the rabbit. It was perched on a desk three rows away, which meant the best way to do this was to cast from afar.
SIGH.
She paused in her tracks and hoped that no other student or rabbit scared her rabbit away. She slooooowly pointed her wand forward, swished it around, and then said, "Petrificus Totalus!" The rabbit froze in place, which earned a fist pump from Sophie.

Wand movement in an arch, left to right, a bit like a horseshoe. West practiced it a few times out of habit more than out of need, and then with his attention firmly on the frozen rabbit, he moved his wand again, "Lepus Caput!"
Sure enough the rabbit twitched but not of its own accord, instead it twitched and morphed and became a fluffy tophat. Which.... West wasn't entirely sure was his style but he'd give it a go he supposed? He picked it up and examined it, checking to see if there were any rabbit bits still attached. Like you didn't want the hat to poop on you for instance right? Right. But it was just a fluffy hat now, rabbit skin in fact. He put it on his head but there was a problem. Hmm.
It was just a bit too big, and therefore he couldn't quite set it at the jaunty angle that he preferred. Obviously West needed to give it another go. He put the hat down on his desk and then went to get another rabbit.

Nerida went and collect her bunny and petted it all the way to her desk. It was adorable!! It needed a name she couldn't just call it bunny, it would be... Hmm Jumper.. Yeap Jumper it would be.
She patted it as it hopped and jumped around her desk. It as adorable! Before doing the spell it was practice first. "Lepus Caput....Lepus Caput....Lepus Caput....Lepus Caput....Lepus Caput....Lepus Caput....Lepus Caput...." she said a couple times until she felt she got it down.
After getting the spell down she looked down at her rabbit, sadly it was time to petrify this rabbit. Otherwise she would probably turn something else into a hat...Though she could try it without first maybe? Or should she just petrify it? Hmm she looked at it as it bounced while she figured out which one she would do.

Alright now to practice the wand movement. It was an upside down U right? He did it a few times with his wand. He got the hang of it, i mean it was quite easy. He like the physical parts of the lesson. Now onto petrifying the bunny. He smiled down on it and knew it wouldn't hurt it. He softly pet it and let it sit down on the table. It still wanted to hop. He held out his wand and swished it and said "Petrificus Totalus!"
The bunny froze in place. It was like a statue. He smiled at it and assured it wasn't harmed or anything. He hoped he could hear him. Now onto the next part....doing the charm.
He held out his wand and did the upside U and said "Lepus Caput!"

Uhh, so Sophie needed to practice first. Maybe she should have done this before she cast Petrificus Totalus on her poor rabbit, but she couldn't help it. The animal just wouldn't cooperate and stay still, and she needed it to, so she could cast on it and turn it into a hat. No big deal, right, rabbit?
She picked up the stiff creature and brought it back to her own desk. She sat it there and tried not to look at it. It was frozen with a look of horror on its face, and if she looked at it too long, she'd start to feel guilty. Guilty was just not a feeling she could afford to have right now.
With the rabbit still as a board on her desk, Sophie first practiced the incantation. "Lepus Caput," she said. "Lepus Caput." That wasn't too hard. She then started moving her wand in that upside down U formation the professor had taught them. Okay, two easy steps--now to put them both together.

"No problem,'' Adi said to Sophie with a grin. He watched as she cast the spell. Darn, she was good for a first year. He wished he was a bit better with his wand work. Sadly, that was not so.
The first year watched his rabbit intently for any sign of changes. Nothing. Uggh! This was so frustrating! Would he never manage to transfigure it to a top hat? Sighing, he lunged for the rabbit as it tried once more to make its hop to freedom. Adi did not want to freeze his rabbit or whatever. Wasn't it going through enough, being turned into a top hat?
The rabbit glared accusingly at the young boy as if to say Why are you doing this to me? "I'm sorry,'' he said, feeling utterly guilty. "It won't hurt, I promise.'' Poor bunny. It was why he had not named it. He would have gotten too attached to it. "Alright. Let's try this again.''
Adi concentrated on the top hat in his mind. "Lepus Caput!'' He traced the upside down U movement and waited.

Looking over at Adi, Sophie smiled at his 'no problem'. She watched as he lunged for his rabbit, and she couldn't help but laugh softly at how funny it looked. She wasn't laughing at him, but rather at the situation. Was that how she'd looked earlier when she was stretching for her own rabbit?
Turning back to her frozen hat-to-be rabbit, she looked at him while she tried to put her intent into what she wanted to do. Rabbit to hat...rabbit to hat...rabbit to hat. Okay, so...this was it. She raised her wand and moved it in that upside down U formation. This was all aimed at the rabbit, of course. Did it even realize what was coming to it? "Lepus Caput!" she called out.
...and the rabbit wobbled then grew still again. Wow. What a hat. [/sarcasm]

He was ready to try again. After checking over his notes a few more times, Asher placed his bunny on the table and aimed his wand at it. "Lepus Caput!" he commanded with proper wand movement. There was a poof of smoke, but no hat. "Fail again."
He cleared his throat and positioned the bunny facing away from him. He thought that his heart might not be in it while looking into the bunny's sad little eyes. "Lepus Caput!" That time was a success. The little fluffy bunny turned into a perfect sized fluffy hat. Asher was thrilled.

It seemed like he'd gotten it well enough so she gave him a solemn nod then headed back to Mr. Snuggles. Even as a hat he was well behaved. This was a proud moment for the Gryffindor who was failing to acknowledge that the rabbit was now a hat and couldn't, in fact, do anything that could be deemed mischief...or anything else for that matter.
The Professor said that they should get a new rabbit when they got the first into a hat, but what if she didn't WANT a new rabbit, huh? What if she'd grown attached to this one and couldn't bother coming up with another name? She'd pass on making another trip to the table, thanks.
"Reverto!"
The moment Mr. Snuggles had become a rabbit again, he tried making a run for it. Lex had to dive onto her table in order to grab him by his hind legs, his front ones already scratching at the floor. "Whoa, wait stop!" Too bad he wouldn't stop wiggling. She struggled to get a firm grip on the rabbit and ended up toppling right off the desk, letting him go in the process.
Now she saw the reason for the body binding...but she still wouldn't use it. It wasn't something she would use on Felix, so she wouldn't use it on Mr. Snuggles either. Just...where'd he go? "Anyone seen a runaway rabbit????"

He saw his bunny starring at him. He would get him out of there soon enough. Kace was about to do the spell again when Alexa yelled and lost his concentration. She asked if he seen a run away rabbit. He looked around his desk and didn't see it. "Sorry Alexa i haven't seen your rabbit!" he told her.
Back to business.....he was gonna master this spell. He took a deep breath and concentrated. He held out his wand and said..."Lepus Caput!" and did the wand movement and then his rabbit changed right before his eyes. He stood there gobsmacked. He did it!

Annabeth had done those upside down U movements enough to be sure she would cast the spell satisfactorily. Now she was whispering nonstop the words to herself "Lepus Caput! Lepus Caput! Lepus Caput! Lepus Caput! Lepus Caput!" as if it were a kind of mantra. She sighed and then she tried to visualize the scene, she pointing her wand to the rabbit, it turning to a hat. Fear paralyzed her! Now that Minerva finally caught her bunny almost on the other side of the room she carried it back to her seat. Placing it back on the desk. "Now Rabbit.. Minerva set the bunny down and it started jumping she sighed and pulled her wand. I told you I didn't want to do this, but would you listen noooo...Petrificus Totalus" The bunny froze and Minerva touched it. "I'm sorry, but I warned you and gave you so many chances." Now she could really do the spell.

So now to start over... Lovely. Sophie looked at her petrified rabbit and wondered what had gone wrong. She'd thought she'd said the incantation correctly, she'd though she'd done the wand movement correctly, and she'd though she'd had enough intent to put it all together and get a hat out of it.
Apparently not, though.
She sighed and raised her wand toward the rabbit. Come on, rabbit. Rabbit to hat...rabbit to hat...rabbit to hat. She whipped her wand into an upside down U and said, "Lepus Caput!" It had to work this time. It just had to.
Well, something did work alright, but...it wasn't what was supposed to work. She looked down and saw a beautiful hat--wearing long rabbit ears. ARGHHH. Kace was glad he did the spell but he wondered if the hat fit. He tried it on but there was a tiny problem. That hat was too big. It went over his face practically. He could smell the hat too. It did smell like a new hat but the fact he was wearing rabbit skin freaked him out. He took off the hat and decided to give it another go.
He went up to the front of the class to get another rabbit. Awww it looked even cuter than his first one. This one was kind of chubby. He smiled and pet its ears and cuddled it first. It was even more gentle with him. As he got back to the desk, he noticed the rabbit was sitting still on his desk. Huh? I guess it wasn't a hopping type. "Well you are much better than my friend over there i will tell you right now." he said to his bunny friend.
"Since you do not bounce, i will try to give the spell a go." he told him to brace himself. It just sat there and blinked at him. He said to himself..."Lepus Caput...Lepus Caput...Lepus Caput...Lepus Caput...Lepus Caput...Lepus Caput...Lepus Caput...."

With the rabbit no longer wiggling in his arms, Ascanius set the petrified rabbit on the desk and just looked at it. S'not the most ideal situation. The rabbit literally had no will, but he wasn't going to argue ethics about this, yeah? He didn't care THAT much.
Twirling his wand in his hand like a drumstick, he made a U-shape with his wand and uttered, "Lepus Caput." And yeah, he was pretty sure it looked awesome. Drummer advantages.
However, he did feel a ping of guilt as the rabbit shook and warped into a hat. Right. This was awkward. Where was its heart? Where was its bum? Was the opening to the hat its bum? He did NOT want to put his head there.

The rabbit was so fluffy, so cutie! Annabeth looked at the rabbit as she was stroking its head and its body. To her surprise, the rabbit fell asleep. The girl looked around. While the others were casting "Petrificus Totallus" on their rabbits to stop them, she had managed to stop the scared rabbit with her love. She smiled, satisfied. Now, the spell.
AAAAAAAlright. The girl grabbed her wand and pointed towards the rabbit. It was even more cute now that it was sleeping. But she needed to cast
the spell.
"Lepus Caput!"
While making the movement and saying the words, she visualized a beautiful pink pointed hat.
"Oh, it works!" The rabbit was transfigured to a black pointed hat. Not pink, to her disappointment. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful hat and was very soft to touch. She gazed at the hat amazed, had it worked properly or the rabbit was under the hat? Carefully, she raised the hat and peered under it, and then into the hat. It was fine, there was no signal that it was a rabbit few minutes ago. She placed the hat on her head and waited for the teacher comments with a grin on her face.

Hmm.. this was a very nice hat. Wade knew the rabbit was safe as a hat, the Professor said it wouldn't be aware of it and as long as he didn't burn it or do other damage to it. There was really no harm or reason to feel weird making use of the hat. Nope. He had just about put the hat on his head about to go get himself another to try, when he heard Lexy Pexy's voice about a wascally wabbit on the loose.
He blinked, before he then looked down at his feet. So THAT's why he had that extra fuzzy feeling by his leg. Such a sweet thing, even though it was chewing on one of the carrots from his lunch bag. He slowly crouched down before scooping it up. "Is this yours, Lex?" He held it out for her to see. If it wasn't.. looks like he's in a perfect state to turn into a hat.

Time to make ourselves a hat!
The fifth-year stroked the rabbit's fir some more as she watched others turn theirs into hats. Did seem that hard to do, good sign. She shifted to the edge of her seat her hand on the rabbit while her other hand reached for the wand. All set, if only the rabbit would stop MOVING! She was afraid to grab it tightly. Wouldn't want to choke it to death or anything. She wouldn't be able to live with the burden.
Grabbing the fury creature by its ears, she decided it was ok if she gripped it tightly now. It'd be appreciated if it like stopped....dancing or whatever it was doing. They'd totally play together after it became a hat...then a rabbit again.
""Lepus Caput," She said waving her wand in the correct motion. And voila! A hat! Cool, yeah! Cassia put her wand on the desk then inspected the hat with both hands. Cool, she wouldn't have guessed it was squirming just a bit ago. The color was nice, too. Creamy!
She placed the hat on her head then turned to Lex, "Lex ..look.." Did Lex really lose her rabbit. Cassia grinned at her best friend. "It couldn't have gone far, let's go search for it," She told her standing up and taking off the hat. "Reverto," She uttered and was relieved when the rabbit appeared again unharmed and still squirming. "Umm..maybe my rabbit will help?" If only the Slytherin understood that it wasn't a dog to sniff and search.
Oooh, and the head boy just found a runaway rabbit, maybe it was Lex's?

Kace was gonna transfigure his rabbit. He was sure of it. The hat was gonna be perfect and the teacher might be impressed. Maybe...anyways onto the lesson at hand. He had his cute little chubby rabbit at hand and he was sitting still minding his own business.
Before he was gonna start the spell, he heard Wade say he found a run away rabbit. He hoped it would be Alexa's. Who knows how the teacher would react to a bunny on the lose. But thankfully the head boy found it. Kace noticed the other hat and should revert it back to normal. Kace said "Reverto!" and then the bunny came back unharmed. He smiled at it and it was sitting with the other rabbit. It looked like they could be brothers.
Kace moved his wand and said with an upside down U shape..."Lepus Caput!" and concentrated and the rabbit molded into a perfect hat before his eyes. "AWESOME!" was all Kace could muster. He even tried it on and it even fit perfectly. Hmmm...maybe he could change the color of the hat. Let's find out shall we?

Mo sat slumped against his desk, his nose pressed up against his rabbit's nose as they stared deep (and cross-eyed) into one another's eyes. Ostensibly, he was trying to get permission from the rabbit to subvert its will and turn it into a hat. A HAT. Not even something necessary or lovely, but something flip and occasionally quite stupid looking.
But he couldn't get any sort of feel. The rabbit was just lethargic and uninterested in communicating, and Mo just felt BAD about things. "Lepus Caput," he tried out the words, giving the rabbit another inquisitive look. "If you agree to this, flick your ear. If you'd rather I not, then wiggle your nose." Pause pause pause.
No motion. Sigh.

There was a hat on her desk.
She'd done the spell and watched the rabbit change and now she had this fuzzy hat. She didn't want to wear it though, y'know? Despite how warm she knew it'd be and how amusing she assumed she'd look in it. She just... didn't want to wear it. Instead she pushed it gently to the corner of her desk and eyed the front of the room.
Ella would have to do this to another rabbit now that she'd gotten the spell right, yeah? Frown. Maybe it'd be easier if she didn't name the next one. Maybe.
The blonde got up from her seat and smoother her robes before headed to where the other bunnies were located.

WAIT. WHAT?!
A runaway rabbit?? Lottie knew the voice by heart. BY HEART. It was Lex, and she lost her rabbit. Well, yes, of course, that was bound to happen. Felix has ran away from her, you know? But if there was one rabbit running awaaaay... shouldn't THAT tell them something about this spell? SHOULDN'T IT?
The Hogwartian stared at the rabbit she was stroking. Mmmhmm. It was calmed, considering. However, she could sense how the calmness went away the moment she took her wand in her other hand.
THAT RIGHT THERE WAS A SIGN.
It's so... not fair to the rabbit. Unless it was fearing the runaway one. Did it bite? Did it run away to FREEDOM? How do we know the answers to these questions? And most importantly, why was Lottie not practicing the spell, eh?
Maybe because she was never going to transfigure a rabbit into a hat.

It was obvious from what was going on around him that Mo was falling behind, and he made faces as he set his lazy rabbit on his desk and pointed his wand at it. How practical was this spell anyway, unless he wanted to smuggle Titus into a country disguised as a fedora.
"Lepus Caput. Lepus Caput. Lepus Caput," Mo said it very quietly, feeling his way around the words until they felt good and right in his mouth. Turn your bunny into a hat. No big deal, right?
He made a little squeaky noise when he finally drew out his wand and gently touched the rabbit right between the ears. One try, at least. Just so he knew. "Lepus Caput."

After finishing her practice Nerida waved her wand and cast Petrificus Totalus on her poor adorable rabbit, but she couldn't help it. It had to be done, Jumper would not stay still just bouncing all over the place. She gave a look at the now stiff creature in its bouncing position... Did people really were rabbits for hats? Had she?
With the rabbit still as a rock on her desk, Nerida moved her wand in an upside down U formation and then said "Lepus Caput," and in front of her changing from an adorable bunny rabbit was an adorable hat.

So another rabbit was in order yeah? Or did she just revert this one? Adelaide looked around the room, seeing a mixture of both. She opted for the first option. It was probably best and maybe she wouldn't have to stun this one.
She pushed herself from the seat and went and grabbed another rabbit, holding it closely to her like she had with the one before. She continued to pet it all the way back to her seat. This one was a lot less squirmy than the last one and actually seemed to cuddle into Addi. That was going to make transfiguring it even harder. She sat back down and gently placed the rabbit on the desk.
It just stared at her...before hopping all over the desk. Oh gosh. "Petrificus totalus!" The little rabbit hopped out of the way of the spell. So this one was going to play tricky was it? She groaned as she tried to catch the little rabbit. She ended up catching it and held it up to her face. "Why are you being so difficult?" She pointed her wand at it while she was still holding it. "Petrificus totalus." It stopped moving and Addi set it back on the desk next to the other rabbit!hat.
"Lepus caput!" And voila. Two rabbits turned into two very nice angora hats. How long were they supposed to do this again?

Marissa put her rabbit on the desk and stroked it's back, "This won't hurt." she whispered to it and she pulled her wand out. I hope, she thought to herself.
She waved her wand in an upside u shape from left the right as the professor had sown and said, "Lepus Caput." She looked down at where she had put the rabbit and there was a hat with bunny ears and feet.
Oh no not good, she thought to herself. She scratched her head and looked the the rabbit/hat and saw the ears twitch and it started hopping around her desk. Definitely not good, she thought as she scrambled to grab the hat rabbit.

Attempt two, and this time it was a question of making the rabbit!hat the right size. West collected the second rabbit without much fuss and returned to his desk. A Petrificus Totalus on the bunny to keep it still and then West eyed it, wondering how much of the size thing was intent and how much it was related to the rabbit itself. Intent obviously was important but if he wasn't focusing on size, like how he hadn't been before, then was there a correlation between the size of the rabbit and the hat?
So now he was focusing. His head size. Yes. He had plenty of hats, so he focused on the size and fit of those to go along with the whole rabbit into hat thing. Okay. "Lepus Caput!" He moved his wand left to right in the arch shape and focused even harder, wanting to get it right. The rabbit morphed instantly this time, not even a twitch before it was a rabbit no longer. Hat now.
Now for the test. West put it on his head, set it at an appropriately jaunty angle, and grinned to himself. Perfect.
..... could he... maybe... try it..... non-verbally? He picked up the other hat, the one that had been too big, and cast reverto on that one. Back to bunny for you.

Adi heard the laughing and looked over at Sophie. He grinned, the rabbit squirming in his hands. He knew he must look funny jumping all over trying to keep his rabbit in check.
Adi gasped in surprise as the hat began to emerge. It was happening! It was actually happening! Yaaaaay! He continued to watch in excitement. Until----- everything stopped. Just completely stopped! "Aw! Not again!'' he said in total frustration. The rabbit's hind quarter remained white and fluffy while the rest of him became the top hat. "Reverto!'' he added dully.
Now the rabbit was back to itself and immediately tried to hop away but Adi was ready this time. "Listen here, Doc,'' he said. "If you don't want to be frozen you'll have to remain still, okay?''
Brushing off his frustration, the firstie concentrated on the hat in his mind. "Lepus Caput!'' Upside down U wand movement and he focused on just that hat, nothing else.

And it was all she need say before Cutty was staring down at his rabbit with a touch too much glee. He understood that what he was about to do wouldn't cause physical pain for the creature, but he liked the idea of asserting his will over it. Wand out, he concentrating on freezing the rabbit still. On completely immobilizing it as he stirred and sniffed around the surface of his desk. As the rabbit crept over towards the edge, it gathered it's hind legs and prepared to leap off.
"Petrificus Totalus!" But he'd missed his mark as the rabbit had done a leap off and skeedaddled. It didn't, however get very far as the set back only toughed the boy's resolve and determination. "I saaaid, Petrificus Totalus!" He repeated this time nailing his target from behind and stunning the rabbit still. It's long ears froze in position, completely straight up and a look of surprise there in it's eyes.
"Lepus Caput, Lepus Caput." He whispered the incantation for practice, while picking up the rabbit and placing it on his desk non-chalantly. "Lepus Caput!" He said moving his wand in the U-motion as instructed by Professor Bellaire. The rabbit appeared to contort and change colour, much to Cutty's delight, until it was long in the middle, wide at the bottom and almost perfectly round. Maybe, a little too round. Had he been concentrating hard enough on a top hat? One might not be able to tell from the malformed head-wear now sitting on the boy's desk.
He'd need a new rabbit. And that's when he saw the kid who, along with Benzi, had been staring at Sophie that day in Charms. "Hey? Hey you, kid? Show me how to do that reversal thing you're doing?"
Adi heard the laughing and looked over at Sophie. He grinned, the rabbit squirming in his hands. He knew he must look funny jumping all over trying to keep his rabbit in check.

Sophie looked back at her rabbit, which was still frozen solid with that look of horror on its face. At least when the hat had turned back into a rabbit, it'd done so without making the rabbit animated again. Sophie really didn't want to spend the rest of class chasing down her rabbit, and now that it knew she was trying to cast on it, it probably wouldn't be so easy to catch.
She raised her wand and took a deep breath. Okay, she could do this. She repeated the whole "rabbit to hat" line in her head a few times, trying to get her intent where it should be. Finally, she whipped her wand into an upside U formation and said, "Lepus Caput!" Come on, rabbit--turn into a hat! There was a slight poof sound, and the rabbit wobbled again. Only, there was no hat--there was still a rabbit.

With a new rabbit in hand, Tora went back to her desk to place it next to the furry hat. She quickly petrified it (don't want to make the same mistake twice!) and concentrated. Hat. Hat. Non-furry hat. Preferably a purple hat, but let's take it baby steps here. She said the spell and shut her eyes quick. By the time she opened them again, she saw the bunny, still a rabbit, but this time without ears. Instead of ears he was wearing... a hat? If anything, this attempt was worse than the last one! For Merlin's sake, THE RABBIT WAS WEARING A HAT. He was supposed to be[/i[ the hat! She frowned and pushed the bunny to one side, running up to get another.
Third time's the charm! This time she kept her eyes wide open as she said the spell. "Lepus Caput!" she watched the bunny transform (er... [i]transfigure) before her eyes. She smiled. Before her sat a shiny white hat, no fur, no excess rabbit parts. Just a hat.

Hmm.. this was a very nice hat.
The ground...was harder than people let on, especially if you ran into it right after falling off your desk trying to catch a rabbit that wasn't being very snuggly at the moment. A name change might be in order if he tried to keep this up.
Lex glanced up at Cassia who was so graciously offering to help her. Good. Progress. More progress than Kace yelling to her that he hadn't seen the rabbit. Although...now she knew not to waste her time looking over there so not so unhelpful afterall. She hauled herself off the ground, giving herself a little dust off as she did because this was still Professor Bellaire's class and losing her rabbit was all the drama she needed for the remainder...of this...class--WADE FOUND THE BUNNY??
She whirled around and saw her spotted bunny wiggling around in the head boy's hands. "As a matter of fact he is!" She said with a grin as she hurried over and took Mr. Snuggles--to be renamed shortly.
"Thanks dude!!" Then she made her way back to Cassia. "Foooooound him." So now they could get back to practising. Wasn't Lottie going to give it a try? Lex placed the rabbit on the table again. "Lepus Caput!"

Okay so... done with the wand movement and incantation practice. Kat was definitely ready to try it out on the rabbit. Pity that it looked scared. S'okay, though, because she had no plans on harming it. That would be really cruel and Kat pretty much had a heart, which tends to shove in some remorse inside her most of the time. She didn't have remorse only when it is for Quidditch. Like, she couldn't care less if someone broke an arm because of her. Dude, she had broken her nose last term because of Quidditch and MERLIN, did it suck.
"Petrificus Totalus," she said and cast the spell at the rabbit. Aw, poor thing. It didn't seem to feel anything though, so Kat gave it one pet on the head. Good boy... girl... thing. Uhm, how did they know what the gender of a rabbit was? She didn't know. But anyway... the spell.
"Lepus Caput!" Kat said with the upside down U hand movement, and the rabbit turned into an angora hat. Cool. But... what? It had one ear twitching. Okay... maybe she needed a bit more focus? Oops. "Reverto." Let's try agaaaaain.

Benzi had mastered the spell.
Well, a spell. Not the spell.
Benzi had mastered the very difficult, super complicated "Petrificus Totalus". It was that other pesky little "Lepus Caput" thing he seemed to be struggling with. NO, not struggling, just erm. . . well, it wasn't going smoothly.
The eleven year old GAPED at his frozen rabbit, watching as the rabbit's hide went back from the black almost velvety thing to its usual rabbit fur. WHY was this not working?!?!? Benzi breathed, and jabbed at the motionless rabbit with his hand. Then he hastily made to grab the falling animal and in the process hit his head on the corner of his desk.
YEAAAOUUUUCH.
"Okay, Bunny Who Won't Turn Into A Hat, this is now personal," he said to the rabbit as the pain slightly abated. Visualising the hat and practicing the wand movement AGAIN, he focused on the animal. "Lepus Caput!" he said aaaaaaaannnd...
OH OH OH IT WAS TURNING INTO A HAT. "I DID IT I DID IT LOO- oh wait," he froze midway in his seat, watching as his beautiful HAT grew furs again and turned back into that stupid rabbit.
. . . Hey, it's better than nothing.

Adrienne took a deep breath. She could do this, she could definitely do this. All around her were people making hats and she had an oddly-shaped ball of fur with ears and a tail. Joy. Wand out, she was about to try the spell again when the rabbit-hat-thing twitched, and wriggled, and then with a sound rather like a sneeze its nose popped out. It stretched and suddenly had feet, and then it blinked a few times and it became fairly clear that it had black, beady eyes as well. Also, it was no longer petrified, and began to hop away from her, looking confused.
"No!" Adrienne said as she lunged after it, barely managing to grab around its middle and pull it back to her. "Petrificus Totalus!" she cast, and she let out a sigh of relief when it stopped moving and became still within her hands. She placed the rabbit down on the table and carefully went over the wand movement without an incantation, and then squeezed her eyes shut and... "Lepus Caput!"
Adrienne opened one eye, then the other, and voila! A hat! Sure, perhaps it wasn't as good as some of the others', and it was still a little bit lumpy where the back feet should be, but hey. She'd done the spell, and that was what was important, right?

Petrificus Totalus West managed without saying the incantation out loud and he got a bit excited. Yessss. Yes. He COULD do this. He could. The frozen rabbit neither agreed nor disagreed. It just sat there looking kind of stuffed.
With the wand movement down, West was now trying to manage the spell on his original rabbit but non-verbally. So far no luck with that. Or... well, no skill. It wasn't about luck after all. He was focusing pretty hard though, the incantation resounding in his head. Lepus Caput!
... no?
Frown.
He tried again. And again. And again. Because one thing was for sure, West was determined.

So it was Lex's bunny after all. Wade was quite glad on how relieved she looked before taking it, "No problem." After she went back to her seat, he then went to get another rabbit out to practice on. Cradling it in his arms, Wade sat down with it before realising what was still on his head.
"Well new little bunny, I don't know what to name you but, meet Fuzzy." He tapped his wand at the hat on his head, "Reverto." Making the hat turn back into a bunny now left sitting on his head. Safe and sound. "Fuzzy this is erm.. " Wade stopped the cradling the new bunny he had lifting it up to eye level. *Sniff* *Sniff* .. "Sniffy..the bunny" Okay then.
Sniffy the bunny was actually already quiet. Maybe after this time staying in the box, helped? Well anyway, no need to petrify it as he had it now sitting on his desk. He mimicked the same movement he had done to Fuzzy the bunny earlier before saying, "Lepus Caput." There we go, another nice hat.

So Minerva had the hat on her head and now what. She looked around. Bellaire had said about getting another rabbit, but why. Couldn't she just use the same one? It seemed silly to turn them all into hats even if it didn't hurt them. She took the hat off her head and pointed her wand reversing the spell. As soon as the bunny was back a bunny it took off again. She couldn't blame it really, would you like to be turned into a hat, probably not.
Going after the fluffy little jumper Min took it back to her desk and pet it for awhile. It was obvious she could do the spell she had been wearing the rabbit. So it wouldn't matter if she took a few moment and pet the bunny. After petting it and calming it down a bit Minerva set the little guy back on the desk and did her wand movement. Lepus Caput" She watched as the cute bunny turned into the hat again.

Laura decided that the first thing she would do was practice the spell before she did it properly, she knew it was important to make sure she understood everything and that nothing could go wrong, something she never wanted to happen in a Transfiguration class. ""Lepus Caput!" Laura said it out loud to make sure it was right. ""Lepus Caput." Laura smiled as she realised that she had it right, she then practiced the wand movement for a few minutes.

West was still wearing the second rabbit!hat at a stylish and jaunty angle, but his attention was on the first one, currently in frozen rabbit form. Seriously, he wanted to get this right. It was all in the mind anyway wasn't it? So all he needed to do was focus. And keep it simple. And not go off on mental tangents.
Lepus Caput. Lepus Caput.
He made his wand movements precise and natural, and kept his eyes on the rabbit.

Practising how to pronounce the spell was easy; what wasn't easy was actually casting the spell. It seemed as though everytime Alec held up his wand, his eyes would land on the rabbit and its face and a feeling of guilt would settle in. This... was just not fair. Not at all. How was he meant to perform a spell on this creature?
Taking a deep breath, the Hufflepuff held up his wand for what felt like the hundredth time in the space of ten minutes. He tried not to focus on the rabbit and instead, tried to think about a hat he wanted to transfigure the rabbit into. He was a simple guy, there shouldn't be much extravagance in this, right? "Lepus Caput!" he cried, moving his wand down in an upside-down U shape.
... Nothing. SIGH.
Again? Yeah? No accepting defeat and all of that? He held up his wand again and paused, letting the rabbit twitch its nose. It seemed to be doing that a lot, actually. ... Twitchy? Was that a good enough name for a rabbit? A smile formed on his lips when the rabbit twitched its nose again. Twitchy it was. ... Wait. Didn't giving something a name just make you more attached to it?
... GROAN.
No. Focus. CONCENTRATE. "Lepus Caput!" he cried, a little louder this time. The wand movement was cast... and then things happened. The boy grinned a little when the rabbit started shifting and, before he knew it, a grey beanie was sitting on his desk where Twitchy the rabbit had been moments before. He took hold of the hat and pulled it down gently over his head. There. Perfect.

Kace decided he was gonna focus and try to make a light blue hat. He concentrated on the color blue and it would be awesome if he could make a light blue top hat. But then again he would try with this little fella again. Kace held out his hand and the bunny just sniffed it and then nudged his head against it. Awww....he was cute and trusted him i guess. Kace picked it up and started to pet it behind it's ears and it liked it. It was looking at him with those big cute bunny eyes.
"Oh don't you pull that one on me Mr. Thumper." he joked with him. He even kissed it's forehead a little bit. "You are a cute one." he whispered to him.
Then back to business. Alright he could do it. I mean he done it before. He waved his wand in an upside down U shape and then said "Lepus Caput!" and then nothing happened. Huh? He wondered what happened this time.....
Maybe he needed to put his feelings aside for his little sidekick. Hmm maybe that could be it. He just took a deep breath and let his emotions go.
Ariel joined the rest of the class in picking a rabbit out of the box.
She wasn't entirely sure why the professor appeared so disgusted by the creature; personally, she thought they were adorable and much more tolerable than horses. The girl picked a brown flecked one out of the box and cradled it in her arms as she made her way back to her seat. She might have had an objection to performing magic on an animal if she hadn't been doing transfiguration long enough to know that this wouldn't hurt the rabbit. "You'll be fine, little one," Ariel whispered.
Setting him on the desk, the girl pulled out her wand. "Petrificus Totalus," she cast with a flick of her wrist. She might as well petrify the creature- there was no sense in having it run around senseless.
Taking a breath to concentrate, Ariel aimed her wand at the frozen animal, drawing an arc through the air with her wand. "Lepus Caput," she spoke. The rabbit gave a flinch, jerking to one side before re-balancing on the table. But it still wasn't a hat. Huh? She had done it correctly, hadn't she? Normally Ariel didn't have trouble with these things...

Adi concentrated on that hat in his mind. He really didn't think he had done so much concentration before. The rabbit was transforming...transforming...rising up...until- A black top hat stood where his rabbit once did! The first year stared in disbelief. He had done it! And nothing went wrong!
A huge grin playing on his face, Adi picked up the hat and tried it on. This was so cool! It was comfortable and nothing was wrong with it. He had actually done it! However, he was brought back to reality when he heard someone calling. Hey you, kid? He looked around and saw a young Snake looking at him. "It's Aditya or Adi,'' the Puff said, taking the hat off and replacing it on the table.
He glanced over at the boy's weird shaped hat and knew instantly what was up. Adi jumped out of his seat and headed over to the boy. Just tap it with your wand and say Reverto. That rabbit should be back to normal.

Aditya. Cutty's first response was to try to think of some sort of name joke that might work with it, but to his surprise nothing came of it. It was apparently immune and a challenge and for that reason, Cutty kinda liked it.
Following the helpful huffies instructions, Cutty took his wand and repeated the incantation. "Reverto!" He said whilst imagining the look on the rabbits face as it had been frozen earlier. The lumpy too-rabbit-to-be-a-hat and too-hat-to-be-a-rabbit object that resulted from Cutty's botched Transfiguration attempt sprouted it's long, soft legs, and little fluffy tail until it's anatomy was again that of a normal rabbit. That one was remarkably easy. "Thanks, Aditya!"

His rabbit still looked very rabbity. Probably because there was zero intent behind Mo's spell casting. Hats were awesome, but at the end of the day, the rabbit did NOT look like he was into it. If Mo didn't have Quidditch to worry about, he would already have liberated at least this rabbit.
If not those of his neighbors.
Come on, rabbit. Serious time. Being a hat was fun. First your turn, then Mo will be a hat. Okay, that's a lie, but can rabbits tell when you are lying? Stare stare stare. This rabbit was a soul-reader. It would totally know if he lied to it.
"Just be a hat, already. Lepus caput." To Mo's horror, the rabbit shrunk and twisted and became generally hat-shaped before immediately going back to being a rabbit again. Was his heart BEATING OUT OF HIS CHEST? If he had to do that again, Mo was sure he'd throw up.

Once again Tora brought a rabbit to her desk and petrified it. This time she concentrated on making a hat of her favorite color- purple. She focused, but this time when she thought she kept two threads of concentration in her mind. One was dedicated to making the hat, the other to making the hat purple. Once again she opted for open eyes. It had seemed to work last time. "Lepus Caput" she said clearly waving her wand in the correct pattern. She watched as the rabbit transformed in front of her eyes to a hat. A periwinkle hat. It was close, but not quite what Tora was looking for. Still- she had gotten it to change colors! She wanted to try again to go for purple but when she went back up to the front of the class she realized that there weren't many animals left. She would just have to use the ones she already had then. Four were enough to continue practicing on.

We're watching you. People who turn rabbits into hats. Like, what was the point?
Instead of keep with stroking the rabbit, who calmed considerably after she put her wand away, Lottie decided it was best to document the work of her classmates. As in... write whatever was happening and whatnot. Runaway rabbit included, because why not? She could totally take notes in class. And while this wasn't as much fun as practicing the spell, it wasn't as if she was entirely given up.
We're documenting. You know, for the yearbook and whatnot. Except she wasn't a writer, LOL.
Her rabbit could just hop off, she didn't mind, just as long as they didn't get caught by Bellaire, then everything was fine. Could they leave the rabbits with the Groundskeeper? He'll take good care of them. Probably. Who knows? We're just writing over here. No rabbit, no hat going nowhere.
Except... she still had a rabbit.

Okay, Toby had named the rabbit, and now they both had to deal with that. Well... more that Toby had to deal with it. Terry had to just deal with being turned into a hat.
First, though, he had to practice the wand movement. Baby steps because he didn't really want to do this.
The spell called for an upside down U, like Professor Bellaire said, and so Tobias picked his wand up whilst still holding Terry in his arms. He didn't say the spell, didn't even think it, just practiced the wand movement, yup.
After a couple of upside down Us, left to right, Toby felt like there wasn't really much more wand-movement practicing that he could do before seeming like he was obviously wasting time.
RIGHT. So now it was time to put the words and the wand movement together. And THEN try the spell on Terry.
Wibble.

Nerida went back to the desk and collected another rabbit, setting it down quickly she picked up her wand and froze it, "Petrificus Totalus!" This way she wouldn't have to stare at the poor creature and this time it wouldn't be frozen stiff with a look of horror stuck on its face.
She raised her wand and moved her wand into an upside U formation and said, "Lepus Caput!" Come on, rabbit--turn into a hat! Just like last time... Opening one eye in front of her again was a beautiful hat once again.

Pff, i need to do this good because i DON'T want to hurt my cute little rabbit! She looked at her rabbit and didn't wanted to do it, she wanted to keep this cute little animal and to bring it with her to the common room, but, that was not possible, this bunny was from the professor and she needed to bring it back... sadly... She still didn't liked it but, because she needed to she pointed her wand at the little bunny. "I try to not hurt you..." whispered Sonea, still not believing that the rabbit wouldn't feel anything, she just didn't wanted to believe the professor, she was a animal hater!!!
But, she tried it. "Sit still" said Sonea while she let go of her rabbit, who still sat still on her desk with her large eyes focused on her face. "Lepus Caput" said Sonea and made the right movement with her wand... and it had worked! She had transformed her cute little bunny in a hat! She hoped that the bunny was still alright....

The bunny seemed so soft and comfy and Sarah went off to dreamland as she stroked it.
Then she remembered that she was meant to be turning the bunny into a hat. She let the bunny nestle in her arms while she wrote down some notes with her other hand.
Now it was time to practice the incantation, "Lepers caput" Sarah tried. She was always bad with this thing. "Lepus capit".. Not good. "Lepus Ccaput" Why was her tongue still getting twisted? One more try and she got it "Lepus caput.Lepus caput" she said.

Laura totally didn't want to hurt a single bunny rabbit, they were just too cute to hurt and she had no idea what she would do if anyone hurt a bunny, she had a pet bunny at home when she was younger and seeing this now, she wanted one at home.
Laura picked up a cute bunny rabbit and she thought about what she was going to do, she was a bit scared that someone would hurt a bunny but she knew her transfiguration spells and she knew she wouldn't hurt it. "Lepus Caput." Laura did the right want movement and watched as the Bunny transformed into a hat, this was awesome.

Looking back over her last several attempts, she decided that it might be fun to try to transfigure them all together. Not into one hat of course, but several different hats. She undid all their enchantments until they were plain bunnies again, remembering to quickly refreeze them all before any got away, and focused. She looked at each on individually and set up the threads of concentration in her mind. Leaving out the color element for now, she whispered "Lepus Caput" doing the wand movement over [i]all of the rabbits assembled to include them in the spell. Of the four rabbits in front of her, three of them successfully changed into a hat of some kind. The one that was a previously a periwinkle hat returned to that same color while the other two remained white. The last bunny had its ears transfigured again. Maybe this was just a problem rabbit.

Now wand movement time, with the rabbit still in her left arm, Sarah reached with her right arm into her holster. The movement itsself did not look hard, yet it was the strong fist thing that would throw her off.
From the start it looked bleak, Sarah reached her wand out and began doing the shape, yet already her arm was shaking. Maybe it was because she had not eaten all day?She had an apple in her bag that she was planning on eating on the way in, yet she ran out of time. She tried again, this time the shaking got worse.
Finally she decided to ask for help, "professor, I haven't eaten today and as a result my blood sugar level is low. This is causing my hand to shake. Is it possible that I can eat an apple quickly before proceeding? This will get my blood pressure to normal, making it easier to do the wand movement"

Before long Hannah realized that she had been daydreaming for far too long. The whole class seemed to have moved on without her. She quickly snapped out of her dazre and grabbed her a rabbit. She went to her desk and placed the rabbit on it. Hop, hop, hop. Maybe the professor was on to something with the whole zapping it still thing. She eyed the rabbit as if saying to it with her glare, that it would get zapped if it continued on with this path.
Ok, so first things first. She should practice the incantation so she wouldn't cause any diasters today. "Lepus Caput." She cleared her throat. "Lepus Caput, Lepus Caput, Lepus Caput." She was good to go on that part. The wand movement was a simple upside down U so she didn't really need to practice that did she? Nah! It was time to get the show on the road. She only hoped that she had enough time to get anything done.

Lex looked down at the rabbit turned hat again. Just look at him being all well behaved. Being a hat suited him. It made him nice to look at, even if she wouldn't wear a hat like this to many places. Unless...unless she could have a nice top hat like the kind the magicians in those muggle shows wore. Hmmm...
Lex thought about it for a moment. This hat was flashy but impractical for her. "Reverto!" The moment the rabbit changed back she was all set to grab him in case he made another run for it. But he didn't move, he just sat there, wide-eyed staring at everything like he'd just watched a ghost eat his carrot. Granted...a sight like that would probably stun her too so she let him have it.
"I'm going to make you into something even prettier now. You'll love it." Pause. The rabbit was giving her looks. "Will you relax? I'm not going keep you like a hat no matter how pretty you look. Just...you should know you'll be pretty, even though you already are but that's besides this point. This isn't up for negotiation now hold still."
Think Magician Top Hat.
"Lepus Caput!"
Come on. Come on.....
She stood watching the rabbit contort and change colour until it DID look like one of those top hats she liked seeing. Alexa grinned down at it before sticking it onto her head. It was a nice snug fit too...but she'd promised him she wouldn't force him to stay like this. Best change him back before she got TOO comfy.

Now what kind of hat exactly would Hannah be changing the bunny into? This was important information you know. She couldn't just go around making just any olf hat. Their were standards to be met here. She thought long and hard about the kind of hat that would satisfy the Slytherin. Oh she knew! She would love a Slytherin hat! Would just thinking about how she wanted the hat to look do the job? There was only one way to find out.
Hop, HOP, hop. This dang rabbit was already getting on her nerves, as was everybody else that was worried about hurting the rodent. There were bigger problems in the world people. "Petrificus totalus." She could take it no longer and found herself making her rabbit be still, the magical way. She had given the bunny fair warning so she didn't have any guilt about the situation.
Now, to get down to business. She didn't have any more time to waste. Didn't the bunny know that she was alreay behind schedule? She waved her wand just right and shouted "Lepus Caput!" The sixth year was happy to see that the rabbit had changed into a hat, but it was definitely not the kind of hat that she had in mind. This one was a grey color and kind of lumpy. Ugh! She thought that she was pretty clear in her mind about what she was going for.

Still not pointing his wand at the bunny just yet, and instead just aiming in the general direction of his desk, Tobias tried both the wand movement and the incantation together.
"Lepus Caput!" Aaaaaaaaaaaaand upside down U. "Lepus Caput!" Another upside down U, left to right, just as she had said. "Lepus Caput." Wand up, curve slightly to the right aaaaaaaaaaand down.
Unfortunately this incantation and wand movement weren't that difficult to practice together so he really didn't have much excuse to put off actually practicing on the rabbit any more.
Okay. Here goes.

So after a million and one tries, this one had to be THE ONE. Sophie was just sure of it. Class should be coming to an end soon, and she really hadn't done much besides cause her rabbit to wobble and then create a rabbit!hat. Neither were what she was supposed to do.
She drew in a deep breath and just stared at her rabbit. Okay, rabbit, I need you to turn into a hat. Why? Because I need to make good marks in class, and if you don't turn into a hat, I'll pretty much fail this class. Well, maybe not fail, but I won't do really well. So turn into a hat, mmkay?
This was what Sophie did to get her intent where it should be. Finally, she whipped her wand around in that upside down U formation and said, "Lepus Caput!" There was another little poof, and then...
O_O
...a hat. An actual HAT, not a rabbit!hat. She stared at it, waiting for it to just poof right back to a petrified rabbit.

The teacher would probably say no anyways, so Sarah decided to try anyway without it. She steadied her hand and tried again she made the shape very slowly, trying not to shake. Yet doing it slowly only made room for more shaking. She did it quicker and it worked.
Now that she knew how to do the wand movement it was time to put it together. The bunny had fallen asleep in her arm though, so Sarah decided not to wake it. First put it together though. "Lepus Caput" she said, mving her wand up and to the right before going down again. That worked. Now onto the real deal

So she was just supposed to get a new rabbit? she thought it would be easier to just turn the hat back into the rabbit, but whatever. The sixth year Slytherin walked to the front of the class and scooped her up another rabbit. Why not terroize them all? She sat the rabbit on her desk and was immediately reminded why she had to zap the last one. She would not stand for all of the hopping. She simply could not concentrate with all that mess. It was for the rabbits own good too. Who knew what would happen to it if she didn't give it her full concentration.
"Petrificus Totalus!" Much better. Now, she just needed to transform the rabbit into a hat. She had managed to do it on the first time last time, so that was a good sign right? She cleared her throat and tried to clear her mind as well. "Lepus Caput." she cried while making the upside down U motion.
Blink. What the merlin. It looked like she had created something that resembled a half bunny and half hat. Well that wasn't going to work right? "Reverto." She was going to have to give this another shot.

Sarah tried was about to do the spell again when the shaking got worse. Thankfully the teacher said yes. She placed the sleeping rabbit in her lap, and casted the cleaning spell on her hand. Germ free, she reached into her satchel and took out an apple, which she cleaned as well. She began to eat it until she was left with the core. She was so hungry that she ate that too.
Confident that the shaking had now subsided, she took her wand out again, "Lepus Caput" she casted and she did the wand movement at the rabbit. She was so busy being amazed at her hand not shaking as much, that she forgot the intention part.

Now that her bunny was back to just looking like a bunny it was time to start the whole process over. She was irritated that she had managed to get it right the first time only to have problems on the second try. She liked to always get it right. There was no room for failure in her life. The bunny actually wasn't hopping around. She thought that this was a bit odd, but maybe it had been traumatized and decided to be on its best behavior. Either way Hannah was not complaining. She would not have to zap the creature into stillness if it continued to keep this up.
She tried to think of what she could have done wrong the first time. She did the whole upside down U thing and she knew that she said the incantation properly. Maybe she had lost concentration? That was always a possibility. She was ready to give it another go.
She stared the bunny down and thought about her perfect Slytherin hat. Her wand made an upside down U shape and she said "Lepus Caput." She watched as the bunny instanly transformed in front of her eyes. She was just about to get excited when she noticed that her hat still had big floppy ears. UGH! What was she doing wrong? Maybe she could play it off and say that she was going for the whole added ear thing all along. Most likely that wouldn't work. Back to square one.

By now she had stopped shaking altogether, so she was able to put her full body and mind on the job. She put out her wand "Lepus Caput" she said as she mind an up right and down shape thinking of the hat. Nothing happened... except that the rabbit had woken up and began to run away out of her lap. Sarah quickly caught it and placed it in her lap. Maybe she had to put the spell on it after all. "Petrificus Totalus" she said casting the spell at the wiggling bunny. It stopped. Sarah felt bad for it
Now onto the hat again. With her victim still, Sarah said "Lepus Caput" and she did the wand movement, the up right and down thing. She thought of the hat. Then she looked at her lap. THERE WAS A HAT IN HER LAP! She placed it on the desk in front of her.
"Professor, does the species of rabbit matter? Like can it be a hare?" she asked

Not happy that she was having difficulty, Hannah tried her best to focus solely on getting the job done the right way. She had her hat/bunny returned to its original state and she didn't really know if she was ready to try again, but she knew that she din't have much of a choice. Were others struggling as much as her? Surely she couldn't be the only one.
The rabbit was back to its hoppy ways so she shot it with a spell. "Petrificus Totalus." Just when she thought that the rabbit was understanding who was boss! Oh well, now that she had a still bunny she tried to empty out her mind of everything except for what she wanted her hat to look like.
The third time was a charm right. She made a perfect upside down U with her wand while saying "Lepus Caput." She closed her eyes almost as if she was afraid to look because quite frankly she was! She peeked out of her barely open left eye and was happy at the results. She quickly opened both eyes wide and stared at her perfect Slytherin hat. She sat it down beside her other, not so great hat, and made her way to the front to pick out another unlucky bunny.
Frowning at her petrified rabbit, Ariel tried again.
Concentrating hard, the girl visualized the fur hat she was supposed to be making. She thought over every detail, from the brim to the inner lining to the stitching. Once she was confident in her visualization, Ariel cleared her mind and once more aimed her wand in front of her.
"Lepus Caput!" She spoke loudly and clearly, drawing her wand in an arc as she did so. The rabbit shook on the table just as it turned into a soft fur cap. AHA!
Grinning, Ariel picked up the hat and rolled it over in her hands. She had done it! It must have been a matter of improper spell pronunciation, or something of the like. Perhaps her French accent had been too evident in her first try? Nevertheless, she had done it! And she might as well do it again.

Ugh.
Why.
Whyyyyyyy Terry whyyyyyyyyyyy.
If Tobias had been paying attention to his own thoughts and feelings instead of that of the rabbit still in his arms, he might have noticed that he was in one of his seldom kind of moods wherein he was not constantly happy or looking for a bright side. No, he was only concentrated on the rabbit and the consequences of his spell. And if he'd been paying attention to his own thoughts and feelings, he also might have noticed that his world didn't end when he wasn't forcing himself to be happy.
So basically he missed out on an epiphany, all because of a rabbit.
Speaking of the rabbit, Tobias carefully placed Terry down on the desk and was pleased to see that he didn't try to run off and therefore would not need the body bind cast on him. Of course that made Tobias feel even worse that he was going to have to cast the spell.
Right.
Okay.
"Lepus Caput!" And a upside down U waved of the wand, left to right.
... Nothing.
Right.
Squeezing his eyes shut so that he couldn't see the Terry disappearing and a hat taking his place could visualise the spell working even better, Toby tried again. "Lepus Caput!"
He did the wand movement, which was actually a lot harder with your eyes closed, and then slllloooowwly peeked through his eyelids again.
STILL NOTHING.
"Huh," Tobias sat back a bit in his chair, frowning slightly and scratching at his head with the end of the wand. Either his heart really wasn't in this.......... or it was a really difficult spell. Or both. Probably both.
Well, he'd just have to KEEP ON TRUCKIN'.

Minerva had done the spell twice with the rabbit and she wasn't going to get another one. No she would still just use the same one. Reverting the spell she caught the bunny before Mr. Runaway took off again. Cradling the rabbit she cooed at it a bit. It was such a sweet bunny. She wondered if she could end up sneaking it out of class. One less bunny to end up a hat for good by Bellaire. A thought of taking all of them and placing them in Flamsteed's office crossed her mind. What a great prank that would be, but she would never pull that off.
Turning back to the bunny she set it down and gave it a few pats. "Lepus Caput!" Watching as the bunny turned into the hat again. She looked around the room, maybe someone needed her help or something? She was growing rather bored of making hats. What else could she do. She watched the other students as she pet the hat.

So they were still practicing yeah? Well, that meant Adelaide needed to turn her hats back or get another rabbit. She opted for the first one. She really didn't want to have to think about turning another rabbit into a hat.
She pointed her wand at the first on. "Reverto." And voila. From hat back to bunny just like that. She tried not to look at the poor petrified thing sitting in front of her. "Petrificus Totalus." Laura did the wand movement even though she didn't want to do it.
Laura looked at the rabbit, it looked stiff and dead and Laura didn't like the look of it, she wanted to turn it into a hat asap, she concentrated on her rabbit and said "Lepus Caput!" Well, she had managed to get two hats out of the it before the class was over so that was something. She thought for a moment about keeping her hat, but then decided against it. She didn't want to be taking care of a bunny and who knew if her hat would stay at hat. She still wasn't sure about the whole thing. She put her hats up at the front. The professor would take care of that right?
She gathered up her belongings and gave a quick farewell to the professor. "Thanks for the lesson professor." She had actually enjoyed it this time.

Kace managed to transform two hats out of the lesson. That was a good thing. He was proud of himself. He pat himself on the back. He heard the professor's instructions and chuckled at them. She didn't want rabbits running free in the castle. That would be quite funny but then again...the headmistress wouldn't like that.
He took off his top hat and placed it down gently and then cleaned up his desk. He put his quill and notebook in his bag and slung his bag over his shoulder. She really didn't want to wear a hat that she knew was a rabbit and they weren't allowed to keep rabbits at school. She opted for the next best thing: keep them as hats until she went home for Christmas. Then she could keep one and give on to Mr. Samson's daughter, if he was all right with it that was.

Ariel frowned internally. She wished the class was longer, but she was still excited she got to attend the first lesson of the year. She was already looking forward to the next one.
"Thank you Professor Bellaire," she said with a smile. The fourth year packed up her bag, slipping her wand back into it's pouch. Slinging the bag over her shoulder, Ariel picked the hat she had transfigured off the table. Honestly, she didn't want it. She'd liked it better as a rabbit, and the girl wasn't really one for hats anyway.
"Would you like to keep my hat (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=99319828), Professor?" Ariel asked, gesturing in front of her with it. If not, maybe she'd send it home to Maman. She hadn't sent any packages home yet.

Oh, they could keep the hats? Awesome! Adi was pleased about that. With a huge grin on his face, he perched the hat on his hat. All he needed to get now was one of those canes and do the crazy dance that people did that apparently came with the hat and cane.
He shoved his book, quill and ink back into his bag. Oh! There was Ariel speaking to Professor Bellaire! He waited patiently for her to finish then poked her lightly in the back but he addressed the Professor first.
''Great lesson, Professor! I'll keep this hat forever because it's the first thing I've ever transfigured.'' He now turned to his friend. "Ariiiiiii! Nice hat!'' He grinned. "Got anything special planned?'' Cos he didn't and if she wanted to hang out... maybe build more stuffed animals or something.
