While you patiently wait for your turn with the Headmistress, why don't you have a seat? You'll find some lovely pink couches within view of the stone gargoyles, along with plants and lamps and fancy little glass coffee/end tables.
If you're bored, good! pick up one of the numerous Wizarding fashion magazines lying around on the end tables. The Headmistress never bores of talking fashion... hint hint.
OOC: you may RP freely here, even if you don't intend on seeing the Headmistress. If you really want to meet with her, be sure you post here (http://www.snitchseeker.com/headmistress-office/the-stone-gargoyles-94588/) first!

Anya (http://www.polyvore.com/so_this_is_what_closure/set?id=97474961) was doing her best not to be nervous. But truthfully, she was pretty sure her face was pale and she might have been clutching her boyfriend's hand so hard that her knuckles had turned white.
She looked around. She wasn't quite sure if she was supposed to wait by the gargoyles or if the escorts were coming down to pick her up.
And honestly, she was completely fine with putting it off as long as possible. Especially in an area that was so pink. Pink was good. And cheerful.
And pink was not a courtroom. So it was extra appealing to her.

Jake... was silent. He had Anya's hand in his and he was pretty sure that she was the only thing keeping him from running into the deepest corner of the castle and staying there until this trial thing was over with. He did feel bad, though. His hand was clammy. And that was gross.
He looked around the room, his frown deepening. The brightness in the room made him feel sick to his stomach. At least Anya didn't look like she minded. She probably liked it. That's what was important. Jake could deal with his issues if Anya was okay.
He eyed a chair, but his legs wouldn't move. So he stayed standing. And holding Anya's hand. And he would stay that way until she left.

Anya stared at the chairs debating whether or not to take a seat. So far, the not was winning. She didn't want to sit. It required energy she was pretty sure she didn't have at the moment.
She knew she should have slept longer.
She opened her mouth to make a joke about something but her voice caught in her throat. That word thing? Not happening. Which. Wasn't good. She was going somewhere where she specifically needed to talk.
The nerves once again came flooding back. Did they have time to run over everything again? What if she forgot something big?
... what if she forgot her name?
"Anya Phillips." she muttered under her breath. Okay. Good. That was still there.

She had saw Anya go that way so she would too... But she didn't go immediately, that was too early. She didn't want to rush things... But she had to get there some time.Nerida (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=97479900)entered the seating area seeing Anya she gave a small smile. She was nervous, though that was apparent. It looked like she was too. She also gave a wave towards Anya's boyfriend. This had happened ages ago it seemed and now the "end" was near...

"Nerida." Anya greeted shakily. It seems her attempt at being calm failed horribly. "You... youready?" For this? It had always seemed so far off, that now that it was here it was like a cumulative 3 years of nerves were weighing her down.
She dropped Jake's hand and buried herself in his side. Hugs. Hugs were what she needed. Not just hand holds.

Nate took a deep breath, and walked over to the Headmistress's seating area. Finally, justice would be server of what happened 3 terms ago. Nate would finally be able to tell what happened to him that year. Amarantha de Talone would get punched by the fist of justice for what she did to some of his friends, and himself. Using the orb as a decoy. Nate was ready for it. He was ready to see this evil woman locked up behind bars in Azkaban. An even better thing Nate would also be willing to see happen to her is she be sentenced to death immediately.
Nate figured that if she does get sent to Azkaban it would probably be for life. There she wouldn't be able to steal the life of youth. As nervous as Nate was, he couldn't sit down. He just kept pacing back and forth. Question flew through Nate's head. What if she doesn't get sentenced? What if she some how used her magic to kill them there? Nate wasn't able to sleep at all for the past day or two. Now, he might be able to sleep in peace. For once Nate would see justice served to this evil person who he will refuse to name.

Nerida gave an attempt at a smile but all she got was a shaky half attempt. "Anya..." she said half-shakily. At least she could actually let some words out earlier she couldn't remember how to say her name..."no." she answered quietly before asking her the same, "And...and you?"
this time a bit louder.
She had tried to forget about the whole incident for three years and now...They were all back. Everything was back... Not like she had forgotten anything... Seeing Nate walk in she greeted him "Nate." more shakily then she had done for Anya's greeting. She needed to calm down...But she didn't want to sit... Giving a glance towards Nate..And she did not want to pace, it would only increase her nervousness. This had happened in her third year and now...Now she was in her seventh year..

The way Anya nuzzled into him made Jake grimace slightly. He put his arm around her and held her close, keeping quiet. He didn't have anything say. He rubbed a hand on her back, glancing around the room as people talked. He felt sort of awkward, being the only one here that wasn't... directly affected by the time stealing. But he hid it, because Anya wanted him there and he wanted to be there, too.
Tipping his head down, he whispered so only Anya could hear him. "This is almost over. You'll be okay." He tipped her chin up with a finger to look in her eyes. "I love you. And I'll be right here when you get back."

Supportive boyfriend was supportive. Anya was grateful. She had no idea how she would have made it down from the Gryffindor Tower without him. She probably would have... fallen down the stairs or something.
But. There he was, keeping her stable and telling her everything was going to be alright. And if her voice was working, she'd tell him that she loved him too. But, that wasn't happening. He'd just have to settle for the slightest of nods and a small hand squeeze. And a look. Which... she really hoped conveyed that she loved him... not that she really wanted chocolate milk and a fluffy pillow.
She looked over when another person joined them. "Nate." she said softly greeting the Hufflepuff. He was pacing. ... so... she guessed he was as nervous as she and Nerida.
She looked down when Nerida addressed her. She shook her head. "Meeither." she said. Not at all. Even though she'd been running it over in her head for months everything that happened. "I'm kinda... worried... forgethow... talk." she forced out. Like now. She was having problems with the whole brain mouth word thing.

Whoa. More pink. Kennedy should be used to it since his sister was going through the "pink phase", but...his eyes. As the gargoyles closed behind him and Emily, he regarded the kids with neutral eyes. He really wanted to break out the tough and be all intimidating - he never got to do that - but...they looked nervous. Kennedy sympathized with them on a level. He'd be nervous too, but he'd be ready to put this all behind him and have justice served. Preferably on a cold platter for de Talone.
"Morning all," he said, announcing their presence. "This is Emily, Head Auror, and I'm Kennedy, YATI." He wasn't going to mention de Talone or anything of that since the kids seemed pretty shaken up. "We're here to escort three of you to the Ministry of Magic. Anya Phillips, Nerida Eventide, and Nate Jones." And that was their go to get up and follow them.

She nodded agreeing with Anya, "I'm worried too...I couldn't remember myname, earlier!" She hated to admit that.. "What if we freeeze...up...when speaking?" she forced her question out.
Nerida looked over as someone new entered the room, she was expecting someone like her godmother Sky Doherty whenever she was on the job. She was intimidating and she had that look on her face that made you think you were guilty of something.
She wished she was here she always knew how to calm her nerves. Just like her mother... But neither of them were here with them.
She let out a shaky"Morning," just to be polite, she added this time not as shaky. "My godmother and her husband spoke of you two before," good maybe her nerves were finally going a bit away.

Nodding to Nerida and Anya, the other two students that are still at Hogwarts who have been affected by the She-Devil, Nate noticed the other two that walked in. Thankfully the Auror's arrived at last. The faster this get's over with the faster Nate will be able to at least try to forget about the whole incident. This was one of those incidents that you could NEVER forget. It would just stay in the back of your mind to haunt you for the rest of your life. That day really traumatized Nate. One good thing out of it was it made his resolve to stop those who do wrong more.
Looking at the two Aurors Nate said "Good morning. I just have one question. How will we be arriving there?" If it was Floo Powder Nate was done. Nate could never use Floo Powder correctly. He'd constantly end up in the wrong place, or he'd sometimes even get injured from a bad landing. That was one thing he'd never try again.
Merlin... Hogwarts really had taken a turn for the worse, if the interior decorating was anything to go by. Yikes. It was a good thing they didn’t need to stay for long, in and out, bam bam! Ala Kazaaaam! ... because pink was infectious. It deteriorated peoples minds, immune systems, and the will to live. See, she was already less willing to live in these circumstances. Pink! Gouge her eyes out with her wand please!
“Rest assured, this is a precautionary measure, you have nothing to fear,” she chimed in. They would be rescued from the pink in no time. Merlin, why’d Tate have to leave? He was cool and chilled, opposite of cringe worthy and tightly strung fashionista in there.
Oh lookit, kiddy had heard of them? Interesting... did she want to know how and why? ... Meh, and the boy had questions? “Floo... it’s the most direct and safest way into the Ministry.”

Anya was glad Nerida felt the same way. Maybe it'll be easier knowing someone else was feeling the same things too? Nate, however, looked like he wasn't as torn up about this as the girls were. He was still capable of speech.
At least it was a familiar face that came to pick her up. She gave a small half hearted wave to Kennedy. Did he recognize her? ... not that it mattered. ... but it was still nice to have at least someone that looked familiar around. Talking about things it took her years to tell her boyfriend and things she hadn't even told strangers wasn't really something that appealed to her. At all. And just an ounce of familiarity was extremely comforting to her.
... andthiswasitthen?
She looked down. She needed to move. She needed to somehow manage to step around Jake.
But... instead of doing that, she tilted her head up and kissed him. Because she was allowed to do that. She was about to go spill her life story to strangers. She totally deserved boyfriend kisses before she left. They might make her feel better.

Everyone was accounted for. Great. Kennedy sent Anya a small - hopefully comforting - grin and nod. He did recognize her. Merlin. Kids grow so fast.
"And don't worry, we got here through Floo and it's safe," Kennedy added. Maybe it'll make them feel safer knowing it's already been in use and him and Emily were still all in one piece. He turned toward the Gargoyles. Yep. He was definitely going to have to say the password. Glancing down at his watch he said, "Lets get this show on the road, shall we." And end this for once and for all.
"Prada Nada." As the gargoyles showed passage, Kennedy waited for the students to go on ahead. "We'll be going through the Headmistess's Floo. After you..."

Jake kind of just... stood. There was a ministry official in the room now, telling Anya and the others that it was time to go. Jake's arm tightened around his girlfriend without his brain consciously telling it to. He didn't want her to go. He wanted her to stay at Hogwarts with him where he could take care of her and make sure he was there for her when she was scared.
...Or they could kiss. That was okay too. Jake returned Anya's kiss, but he was the one to pull away first. He had to be the strong one now. Show Anya it was going to be okay. So he looked down at her and patted her hip in what he hoped was a reassuring, comforting way. "I'll be waiting," he told her quietly before dropping his hands from her and taking a step back.
Okay, Mr. Ministry Worker. Take good care of Anya. Or he'd have an upset prefect to deal with.
Gooooooood. YATI bonus points for saying the stupid password, the day would only get better. Away from PINK. A guilty conviction. Now THAT, would be a good good day.
Emily was tempted to poke fun at the girly with whom she figured was her boyfriend, but remembering she was a witness, perhaps another time. Give the girl her comfort.
“Let’s go!” Emily added with mild enthusiasm. Idle standing, staring and gawping irked her, and she didn’t want to give them the opportunity to cry. The girls looked fragile. Keep busy busy! Move!
Leading the way through to the redheads lair, Emily wondered how Simon and Vivi were getting on. A part of her hoped that their senses had been assaulted by foul colours.

And then, much too soon, the kiss ended.
Anya closed her eyes and took a deep breath. He'll be waiting. Right. Which meant... she should be going. Especially since Kennedy said a password and she could hear the way to the Headmistress's Office opening again.
She turned, carefully to avoid eye contact with her boyfriend, and then practically ran up the stairs. If she hesitated, she was pretty sure she'd talk herself into not going.
Alright. Comeonnowpeople. Placestobe. Places to leave.

Nate's breath shortly grew quieter. For this would be the first time Nate would have seen Amarantha in three years. Hopefully it would be his last. There last confrontation was in the alley behind her shop. Right as he was about to cast Stupify she apparated away. Thankfully she got caught though. Nate didn't want this to happen again. It would be very bad if it did. He didn't want his little brother to have an encounter with her when he would come to Hogwarts.
With a deep breath Nate entered the passage way that had been opened by one of the Auror's. While he was walking down under his breath he said "Of course we're going by Floo Powder."

Gingersnapple LIKED kissy faces. His human made them to herself in the mirror allllllllll the time, did this littler human know that? He tilted his squashed-in face up toward the girl making kissing faces but... then he remembered the other cat. And so the hissing started again, along with an occasional, "Mrowrrrrrrgggrrrr," thrown in for good measure.
Anastasia, meanwhile, let out an audible sigh. Look, Alexa's own cat kneazle thing could hardly be called 'enthused' for this meeting. She pursed her lips at all the questions about her office and hastily decided they should stay FAR, FAR away from it.
"Let's go to the....... seating area (http://www.snitchseeker.com/headmistress-office/headmistress-seating-area-94589/), Alexa, shall we?" Maybe she could lose the girl on the way over there.
Lex TOTALLY saaaaw that. Did the Headmistress? DID SHE??? The cat made KISSY FACES AT HER!! Well...that's what it looked like anyway...so yeah, it made kissy faces at her and they would be bestest friends and Felix would behave himself like the good kneazle he knew to pretend to be in the presence of company...sometimes.
The fourth year was so eager to get this all started that she led the way to the seating area herself. She knew where it was and didn't think for even a second that the Headmistress would suddenly turn and sneak away. Nooo, that would be all kinds of mean then Lex would have to let herself in for another visit whiiiiich would lead to another visit after that...in the dungeons...as FUN as that sounded she would have to decline.
HOLY SWEET MOTHER OF KNEAZLE!!! What happened in HERE???
The pink hurt her eyes in this amount. What EVEN???? Lex stopped as she entered and blinked at everything. "..........Are you sure we couldn't sit out by the gargoyles?" No pink there, not that she saw anyway.
How much trouble would she get in for making half this stuff blue...?

Annie tightened her grip on her troublesome cat. Why must he always be nice to the worst of her students? WHY? WHY? She shook her head but.............. reluctantly............... followed Alexa over. Sigh sigh SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
"Oh no," the redhead chirped as she settled in on a PINK couch. "I think we'll be MUCH more comfortable riiiiiiight heeeeere." And she patted the bright PINK cushion beside her for Alexa to take a seat. What, the girl couldn't stand a little PINK?

So. Much. Pink. MER-LIN!
How was the Headmistress sitting there like the world was in perfect order?? Like a great crime against her retinas hadn't just been committed? Like she wasn't sitting on a PINK couch??? Even FELIX was protesting...or maybe that was just to the cat right across from them. He never did well with competition. Focus kneazle, this was seriou--
Come again?
Blink. The Headmistress...patted the cushion right next to her...NOT the one across from her and NOT the way across the room but RIGHT THERE BESIDE HER. Lex would not let this opportunity pass. With a bit of haste she plopped down so close to the woman that their shoulders were touching snuggle time with the Headmistress anyone? Lex placed the basket on the table before them and immediately began emptying the contents while Felix curled up in her lap, a sign he was about to ignore the world.
Let's see, chocolate muffins, chocolate frog, chocolate chip cookies, double chocolate chip cookies, chocolate fudge, chocolate cubes, chocolate candy bars, chocolate ice-cream with the cooling charm on them. YUM.
She may have wiggled a bit in the seat, juuuuust getting comfy while still slightly leaning on to the Headmistress. Sniff. "You smell lovely by the way."

Yes, right next to her. If any of her cushions were going to be soiled by the likes of Alexa Cambridge, it had best be the ones on THIS particular sofa. It was the oldest of them, after all. Bunz firmly believed in that old saying, too: 'Keep your friends close but your enemies closer.' So why NOT seat the girl directly beside her?
Well she was creepily sniffing the redhead's hair, for one. That would be reason number one NOT to seat her nearby. MERLIN. The redhead deliberately plopped her own fluffy cat between her legs and Cambridge's, as a sort of live barrier to give herself some breathing room. Not that it did any good, naturally. Cambridge just HAD to rub shoulders with her and then comment on her scent.
".....thank you," the Headmistress remarked stiffly, her eyes firmly fixed on the contents of that picnic basket. Goodness gracious, did Alexa Cambridge like chocolate?! Fortunately for her... Anastasia Truebridge ALSO liked chocolate. LOVED chocolate, actually, if she were being honest with herself which she never was.
Ignoring Gingy's tail flicking her arm warningly (he REALLY didn't like that other cat being so close. Hmm hm.), the redheaded Headmistress stretched an arm out toward a chocolate frog. She hesitated with her hand just above the box.
"May I?"

OH WOW!!! Lex glanced down at the grumpy kitty that had been placed between them. She only had a second to do so before Felix hopped up hissing like he'd seen a dark wizard. She scowled at him. "Stop embarrassing me. Gingersnapple wants to make friends with you and you're being the most ridiculous thing ever." He was gonna make the Headmistress think this was all a big mistake which, MERLIN KNEW IT WAS, but shhhhh. They could make it work.
She shifted Felix to the opposite side of her lap so he was no longer near the discontented cat before fixing on a more pleasant expression. Chocolate was lovely. Yes.
"O'course, I brought them for us to enjoy while our kitties made nice with each other." GRIN. This had yet to happen but the evening was still young and so long as they didn't kill each other this would be a grand success that she would mark down in the history books...or maybe not the history books...because then she'd never read them and couldn't see anyone else reading them either....
"Those are my all time favourites. I could eat them all day. I did that once." And threw up for a whole nother day but that wasn't the important part. "It's fun to bite the heads up...for me anyway--can I pet your cat? Does he bite? I can tell he really likes me. It must be a sign, you know like when a pet warms up to you the owner will shortly after???" Big, curious eyes looked up at the Headmistress for emphasis. By the end of today they were going to be BEST FRIENDS. Yes. Okay. Decided. Moving on.

Gingersnapple did NOT want to make friends with the Other Cat and he was going to let them know that. "MRRRRRRRRRRROWRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr," he growled in a low, threatening tone, again flicking his tail at the two women humans. He kept both squinty eyes on the other cat until he was moved, then proceeded to bump his nose into the littler human's leg. There. See. His. His humans. The other one already knew she was his.
Bunz, meanwhile, distracted herself from Cambridge and the cats by plucking up various pieces of chocolate. How nice of the girl to share her chocolate.... so... altruistic, so unusual for Cambridge.... Annie popped open a chocolate frog wrapper and started munching one of its legs whilst also reaching for a few chocolate cubes. Om nom nom nom. She nodded along with whatever the girl was saying, not at all realizing what she was agreeing to, and paaaaaaused with the frog's head halfway to her mouth.
"You didn't do anything to these chocolates, did you?" One couldn't be so sure what with... hers and Alexa's history... and that whole ice cream debacle last year....

That thing was touching his Lexa. It had its nose touching HIS Lexa and it needed to stop. Felix glanced up at his Mistress but her words were ignored as they often were. Get it AWAY. The kneazle's tail flickered as if jolts of electricity were running through it but the cat couldn't take a hint. There was nothing he disliked more than felines who couldn't take a hint. Feeling he would have stirred the girl too much if he pounced and attacked the Lexa toucher, he settled for shoving himself between the cat and his Mistress' legs, flicking his tail at his face as he did. MINE.
It was her responsibility to watch her kneazle in case something went wrong but merlin was she distracted. The Headmistress was helping herself to the chocolate's like she heard there'd be a shortage and she needed to start storing fat. Good sweet Circe, she was gonna FINISH them!! Would it have been bad form to ask her to stop minutes after telling her to help herself? In all honesty, Lex never knew she liked them THIS much. If she did, she would have packed something else.
Alexa was completely taken aback by the question. Do something...to CHOCOLATE????? Frankly, she was offended.
"I would never. That'd be a tragic waste of sugary goodness." Spiking chocolate? WHAT EVEN??? She took a moment to compose herself and smile at the kitty--ohai Felix, come for snuggles too? "Why? Do you suspect I would?" Granted, she would, merlin knows she WOULD but not after putting so much effort into making sure they both enjoyed this. "If I wanted to get you, food wouldn't be my method of choi--...." Wait...."I mean...I would never even dream of doing anything that even remotely goes against the rules." Ahem. Carry on.

Ignorant of the plight of the kitties, other than to note that Alexa's had lovely fur, really, Anastasia continued stuffing her face full of chocolate. Right, the girl said she hadn't poisoned it, so into her mouth almost whole the frog went. She munched around it and might've slipped a few chocolates.... and some fudge... and some other chocolatey things... into her purse while the girl was distracted.
"I don't suspect you, nooooooooo, no never!" the redhead trilled fakely. "If you wanted to get me what now? Hmmmmm?" She leaned over Gingersnapple to peer at the girl. "Right. Because you don't want another detention with me." She ran her tongue over her teeth to check for chocolate. "Dooooo you, Cambridge?"
Gingersnapple was not having any of this leaaaning on him stuffs. "MROWWW." No he was not. He was NOT a cat cushion OKAY. He dug his claws into the plushy, pretty pink cushion and flicked his tail so it hit his human across the upper lip. Then he stood up, promptly, walked all around his little space in a circle, and sat back down. One paw accidentally ended up resting on the littler human's leg. Mhmm. HIS. HIS CASTLE.

Stop eating and hording all the chocolate woman. T____T
As distracted as Alexa was by the little feline show down taking place next to her, it wasn't NEARLY as pressing as the Headmistress trying to make off with her sweets. Everytime she offered the woman cookies or anything she would decline. This made Lex feel comfortable offering her so many, she figured the LOVELY Headmistress had heard about RESTRAINT. No? SIIIIGH.
Trying not to make it seem obvious that this sharing thing was harder than she first anticipated, Lex reached for a double chocolate chip cookie and bit into it. Keep the smile Lex.
Oh whoops she heard that. Ummmm...."Nothing, I'd do nothing to you--".....Lex gave the Headmistress a curious look as she took another bite of her cookie. "Who says I don't?" She took a moment to finish the cookie. "See, I've decided I rather like detentions. I got to be a muggle farmer in one of them and in another I really bonded with Professor Knox. That one was especially fun, I air-guitared, danced on the rug and she nearly gave me a slug for a tongue!!!!" The memory had her bouncing. "The one with you was fun too, remember? Rat hunting??? Good tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimes." BEAM.
It's hand was on her LEG!!!!!
This lower feline was testing him. He was only a patient Kneazle for so long. Felix HISSSSSED, a first warning to MOVE AWAY from his mistress before he TOOK HIS EYES OUT and left him with a PATCHY fur. Its human wouldn't like that but his Lexa would find it amusing...eventually. She'd be angry in the moment but at the end of the day HE would get CUDDLES and the UGLY USELESS CAT THING would be UGLIER and BLIND. The fur on his back and tail bristled, making him look even bigger.

Annie casually continued shifting chocolates from the table to her purse, seeming to ignore Alexa's distress at the sight of all her chocolate leaving. Well, she'd brought it to share, hadn't she? This was as easy as taking candy from a child. Literally. That is what she was doing.
She picked up a piece of fudge next to munch on that. Hmhmhmm. "I say you don't want another detention with me," she declared, "because you don't want to be suspended again. Right?" She still couldn't believe that she'd had to do that to a first year. BUT REALLY, the girl wasn't getting the point of punishment at the time. It was the next necessary step. And she was much better behaved now, right? Right?!
She raised her eyebrows at Alexa's explanation of her latest detention. Perhaps... perhaps another suspension would be in the cards for this Gryffindor. "If you think these activities are meant to be fun, Alexa, you should probably reconsider your definition of the word fun. Children your age aren't supposed to enjoy sustained torture at the hands of an adult. Has your father ever sent you in for a psychiatric evaluation at St. Mungo's?" Maybe she would need to write to Michael Cambridge and strongly suggest one.
The cats, meanwhile, were in an all-out war now. Gingy ignored the other one's wimpy hissing and continued to knead the littler human's leg with his paw. Hum de hum, being comfortable here, no big deal la de da de da. He even let out a looooooong, laaaazy yawn, as though he had nothing interesting going on today. He'd just enjoy being sandwiched between two ladies. Maybe they'd even let him have some of their snacks, hmm? He flicked his tail at his regular human to let her know he required sustenance. Ahem. ASAP.

Alexa was all for sharing, really she was, especially considering she and the Headmistress were like BFFs now but see, the woman looked like she would take them all and Lex was still kinda on the same cookie. That wasn't how people shared. The Headmistress was probably one of those kids who borrowed all your crayons and never let you use them. Yup. She could see it.
There she went again, having yet another piece of fudge. Lex finished up her cookie and helped herself to a chocolate cube. Half way through her bite her eyes widened further in curiosity and slight confusion. "Why would I get suspended? People get detentions every day and they're not suspended. What makes a detention with you warrant a suspension?" Didn't she know of all the fun one could have down in the dungeons??? No? Was it just her? "The way I see it, I got suspended for insulting your intelligence. I wouldn't be dumb enough to do that a second time, I think it'd go by smoothly." But that was just her personal opinion on the whole thing.
Blink. Blink. Huh? She knew PERFECTLY what she classified as fun, these Professors needed to rethink their policy on torture was all but of course she wouldn't say that, instead she leaned back feeling the soft cushions against her back and let an easy grin slip onto her face. "I don't need a psychiatrist, the closest I've come to being tortured is that blood quill Professor Hadley made me write with, outside of that, they've been more like little activities. We got to shovel out Broc and Bonnie's enclosure like muggle farmers--with shovels and wheel burrows like the ones they use in the movies, not much torture there and Professor Knox offered me ice-cream while we were down there. If you got offered ice-cream for punishment, wouldn't you be happy too??" Logic. All the epic things happened during detentions.
"But we're rambling on about me," Without glancing down, she yanked Felix off the part of the couch he'd been hissing from and moved him to her other side again, "done anything epic lately??"
What was THIS??? Was he getting even MOAR comfy on HIS Lexa?? The kneazle let out a low growl, deciding he'd been patient enough for the longest time but before he could leap forward he was being picked up and moved again. The little miss would have earned herself a scratch or three but then she began scratching him just behind the ear. It was heaven...who was that ball of fluff on the other side of Lexa? Did he know how good this felt? Mee-oooooooow.

"Because a detention with ME should be the END ALL of all detentions. You're supposed to LEARN something from getting detentions so that you don't GET ANY MORE!" Yes, that completely made sense. The Headmistress was the highest authority in the castle; therefore, a detention with her should be like the LAST step before suspension or expulsion! It was only logical.
You'd THINK the girl would learn not to insult this redhead's intelligence. Annie nibbled through her fudge square, both narrowed blue eyes focused on the Gryffindor. Was that supposed to be another thinly veiled insult? Hmm? She would let this one slide... but only because she was somewhat on a chocolate rush here.
The Headmistress picked up a cookie. Had she done anything epic lately? Uhhhh........ "No, not really." She munched all around the outside of the cookie and then took a bite out of the cookie center. Mmmm, perfect. "Why do you ask?" Did she have a reputation for doing epic things?? That would be cool but unexpected...
See, Gingy knew that OTHER feline would be too wimpy to attack. That was why HE remained the King of the Castle. He just intimidated all the other pets into submission with his thick and luxurious ginger fur, and his long and sharpened claws. Speaking of said claws...
Gingersnapple put one of his free paws on the bigger human's leg. One paw on each of the ladies, see, that was how you ruled. He twisted his squashy face around so he was looking up at her. "Mrrroww?" the cat asked, giving the cookie in her hand a deliberate LOOK. "Mroooooowwwwwwwww?" One for her, one for him, one for him, none for her? "Mrooooooooooooow?"

OHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! "But I do learn something from each of them! Honest!!" In her first year she learned that Badgers stuck together and no one cared if firsties were picked on. In her second year she learned that Ground's Keepers carry around sneakoscopes while looking for you in the Forbidden Forest and last year she learned that licking a glass container with ice-cream inside did NOT allow you to taste the actual ice-cream, also, if you talked enough, you could get kicked out of said detention. See? Lots learned. She didn't know about the not making her want more though..."If it makes you feel better, I found your detention the most intimidating--I even scare Firsties with stories of you!!" BEAM. Best student ever, YES??
Felix was behaving, he liked comfort above exerting energy and she appreciated that in situations like this one so she continued scratching behind his ear, watching him snuggle into her side more. Such a good kneazle. And GINGERSNAPPLE!!!! Lookit him being all adorable!!! She shared a piece of her fudge with him. SO CUTE!! She wanted to snuggle with him TOOOO!!
And another cookie lost to the boss lady. She was just gonna have to get use to this. Nothing epic? "I find that hard to believe if I'm being honest." Lex said, blinking over at the woman. Nothing epic at all?? Really? But she was always right in the middle of every near death experience Lex ever had at this place. STEALING the broach and nearly having everyone eaten. Accepting some random ice-cream machine then having dementors show up and NOTHING epic was done?? "I can fix that! I can! I fix it for Aidan all the time. We could do something epic." Nodnodnod.
Felix was no longer aware of anyone or anything outside of his Mistress. She gave the best ear scratches. Why fight when he could enjoy this luxury? He was too busy nuzzling into Lexa's robes to notice her sharing her fudge with the other thing over there. It was just as well, it would have ruined his snuggles.
How much longer did they have to stay here? The other human paid no attention to him. He didn't need to be around her to get cuddles or sweets. Could they go back to the dorm? The pillow was always so comfy.

Did she? Well alright, Bunz supposed that was alright. As long as she was learning something... and oh, she was scaring firsties straight? "Good," the redhead murmured darkly. "You keep telling those stories... memories, we'll call them..." And she reached out and took another cookie. Heheh.
Oh oh fudge for HIM? Gingersnapple HAPPILY accepted the chocolate treat from the littler human, before turning his squashy face back to his human. He needed a treat from HER toooooo. "Mrowrrrr?" he bump-nudged her leg with his face. "MROWRRRRRRR."
Lex found it hard to believe she led a perfectly normal life? Anastasia just laughed, though not with much humor in it. "What kind of epic thing do you have in mind, dear? I live a rather normal life right now, as it is. I have a husband and a small child to take care of." As she was talking, she broke off a small piece of her cookie (a piece without chocolate chips in it) to give to Gingy.

By now Lex had resolved in herself to stop flinching every time the woman ate one of her treats. Technically it was theirs, she just wished the woman would remember that and slow down a bit, you know? Was that too much to ask? Probably, given she was ready to diagnosed this woman as a chocoholic. Something they had in common and could bond over. The thought had her smiling, even moreso because she was being encouraged to continue the stories. "Sure thing! I'll teach them everything I know." Like how to not get caught in future by letting them learn from her mistakes. It was something she felt she owed the younger ones.
Was this it then? Lexa kept talking and the other human kept responding. The feline over there was begging to be fed--pathetic--all in all there wasn't really anything interesting enough to keep his attention anymore. While his Mistress continued stroking behind his ear he curled up at her side and closed his eyes. She'd let him know when she was ready to go, until then, he would catch up on some sleep. In all this he couldn't complain much. It was better than that other human who always tried mashing his face against the other feline's up in the Common Room.
Yeah yeah yeah, normal life, husband, small kid, picking off chocolate and feeding to cat. Uh-huh, Lex wasn't actually paying much attention anymore. Nooooo. She was brainstorming. The Headmistress asked her what she had in mind. That was almost like saying 'come up with something for us to do and we will'. Probably not exactly what she meant but really, there was no convincing the child otherwise.
"I don't know, the possibilities in the castle are endless and you can't actually get in trouble 'cause you're in charge. Hmmm...." And more deep thought before she finally snapped her fingers, a new glow setting into her eyes. "We could go bowling with the suits of armour, or we could transfigure the staircases so they're smooth, then slide down them mhm. I don't suppose you'd be too keen on getting inside a giant bubble and rolling through the corridors? No? We could also consider watching the pillars by the gate explode, we'd fix 'em afterwards, like Mr. Vinteren did but you know, like target practice 'cept not on people so we can't actually go to jail. Alternately we could go Acromantula hunting."

Anastasia was certainly a clinically diagnosed chocaholic, but was that something she would ever admit aloud and/or to anyone besides her beauty mirror? No. So naturally she picked up a chocolate frog next, and fed a bit of its legs to her furry companion Gingersnapple.
Gingersnapple was starting to get full, or at least to get overloaded on sugar, so after a bit of the chocolate frog he closed his eyes sleepily and rested his squashy head against the littler human's legs. Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrfect.
"Well, only teach them the things that will keep them out of trouble," the Headmistress corrected Cambridge as she polished off her chocolate frog. She wiped her fingers on a cloth napkin she conjured with her wand and then wished she had brought something to drink, too.
With that all finished, the redhead tried to follow what Cambridge was rambling on about now. Bowling, staircase skating, giant bubble rolling, exploding pillars, acromantula hunting...
"I've been acromantula hunting before," she mused aloud. "The Suits of Armour would likely not appreciate being bowled around, and skating on the staircases could be MOST dangerous." She cleared her throat. "Now, as for Mr. Vinteren blowing up the pillars by the gate..." she frowned. "That's hardly an appropriate activity for a school governor, but I'm sure he had his reasons. Can't you think of anything ELSE we might do? Something tame, such as... quidditch practice, or taking care of plants in the Herbology greenhouses?"
Why was she even agreeing to an activity with Cambridge in the first place? Oh right, because she had given the Headmistress chocolaaaaaaaate. Yum.

SHE HAD TWO KITTIES SLEEPING ON HER!!! YES! THIS WAS LOVELY! YES! OKAY! Lex was grinning down at the sleeping felines until her attention was drawn back to the Headmistress. "Why of course, most definitely." The smile on her face was anything but innocent. Things to keep them out of trouble, mhm, it was called the art of 'not getting caught' and she would teach it well. No worries Lovely Headmistress, she had this covered.
Lex picked up a double chocolate chip cookie and took a giant chunk out of it. Clearly the Headmistress needed some time to think, she would let her have it while she enjoyed the chocolatey goodness--
Scary Pink Loving Headmistress say whaaaat??
"You've gone Acromantula hunting before???" Her eyes widened considerably at the news. "Neat!! You have to take me sometime. Pleeeeaaaase???" The Headmistress was a LIAR saying she never did anything epic and lived a normal life. Normal people didn't go looking for giant man eating spiders. Sweeeet.
But then she was blowing holes in everything else Lex said. Alexa...didn't care what the suits might or might not have liked....."He did have a good reason. He was teaching me Expulso." Perfectly legit right there but that wasn't the point. The woman wanted something TAME. "I'd like to think this is as tame as it gets, sitting in here, having chocolate in a pink room but I guess if you want we can find something boring to do. No problem." It was just gonna be harder to come up with.
Hmmmmmmmmm....."You can teach me a really epic spell then we can have a duel...or maybe a stroll in the Forbidden Forest but then you'd have to excuse me so I can find Lottie, she'll wanna come too. Outside of that...I'll let you pick."
