It's not quite the front, but not quite the back either. Find a seat in the middle cars and be close to all the action.

Forrest couldn't believe the front compartments had already been taken. They were usually the last ones to get full, but apparently he was in no luck. So he made his way to the middle of the train and entered the first compartment that was empty. He wouldn't mind a company, but he was too shy to go ask someone he didn't know at all. He had already put his luggage in the luggage compartment anyway, so he could move freely. The only drawback was that he had five different sweets poking out of his pockets, and he had to bend down at every five steps to pick the one that had fell out of his pockets. He just hoped he hadn't left any behind. He sat down by the window-side and looked at the view, as the compartment he chose was at the opposite side of the platform.

Hopefully, a nice feast awaited them.

She'd looked EVERYWHERE but she couldn't find either Dee OR Forrest. Bristol hoped that Dee had gotten on alright and not hidden somewhere away from people, or gotten lost in a book while waiting for the train. Deciding that she'd have another look later, she made her way down the corridor and popped into the first empty carriage that she could find. Normally, she'd just barge into another's, but she was feeling quite reflective today and thought that she should be left to her thoughts.

Time to think. Alone.

Maybe she should hang a 'do not disturb' sign up?

After saying goodbye to his mother and literally throwing his trunk into the luggage compartment, Michael swung himself up onto the train and paused for a moment.

The front or the back?

Spying a young girl up ahead step into a compartment, he decided that the it was going to be the middle of the train. With a huge grin on his face, Mikey took off after her and she had only just sat her bum down on the seat when he slid open the door and burst into her compartment like a tornado.

And without giving her a chance to speak or react in anyway to his sudden appearance, he tapped her on the shoulder.

"TAG!! YOU'RE IT!"

Back out the door he went. Hopefully she wanted to play too.

The train... FINALLY she was going back to Hogwarts, and away from that place where she needed to live with her mom now, her new home. A home she HATED! But, she was going back how to the castle, Hogwarts was now her home for the next few months! "We are almost back at Hogwarts" said Sonea to her two rats, Sir Blue (http://i1127.photobucket.com/albums/l639/SoneaYeong/Sirblue_zps3db52064.jpg) her blue rat, and his mom, Little Princess (http://i1127.photobucket.com/albums/l639/SoneaYeong/Untitled1bmp_zps4821d1b4.jpg), the pink one.

And while she walked trough the train, searching for a place where she could sit she looked all the time at her watch, hoping that the train would leave soon. The third year old found a empty place to sit and rolled her luggage in the car and sat down, deep in her own thoughts...

She'd been sat done for all of five seconds, thinking of Hoggywarts and what adventures she was going to have there, when some random boy came in and tapped her of the shoulder, grinning widely. He seemed like the male version of herself, as she always randomly burst in on people and wait .. what did he say?

O__________O

Bristol sat there and processed what was happening, but she soon realised that there was no time to waste. She was 'it' after all. Weird as that was. Grinning, she flung she compartment door open and chased the boy out of it. It didn't take long for her to catch up to him, he didn't seem that desperate yet to get away from her. So it was pretty easy for her to tap him and tell him that ..

"TAG, NOW YOU'RE IT!"

.. before running off again.

This girl was only little but boy could she run fast. She could probably run faster than Zahra. Not that he would ever tell his BFF that mind you. Mikey stopped running down the corridor the moment he felt the girl tag him and he quickly did an about face just to see her now running away from him.

Grinning to himself, Michael gave her a five second head start before taking off after her. He had jump over someone's cat that had darted out in front of him and he almost barreled into another student before he caught up with his mysterious tag partner.

Instead of tapping her on the shoulder, he gripped her lightly to stop her from running any further. "Hey! Where did you learn to run so fast?" Perhaps it just came naturally to her.

Tora had truly hoped to get a seat in the back of the train. There were far too many people in far too little space at the front. Of course, being only a second year gave her limited experience with how quickly even the back compartments filled up.

Thus Tora found herself, luggage stowed, walking further and further into the middle of the train where she finally stopped to notice a candy. A sorrowfully neglected candy on the ground. Of course she picked it up. Her curious mind whirred. Would it do her harm if she ate it? The probability of it being a prank was likely... but then again it could just be something someone dropped.

A movement out of the corner of her eye stopped her mid-thought and caught her attention. She looked up and suddenly realized that she was standing in front of a compartment. Conveniently empty she pushed it open... only to discover that the compartment wasn't empty and that the motion that caught her eye must have been the boy sitting there.

"Ahhh. Hello. Um. Sorry for bursting in like that. Don't mind me, I promise I won't bug you, but loads of other places are full to bursting and I don't like-" She stopped speaking abruptly. Not a good idea to blurt your fears of small spaces to strangers.
"Anyway. I'm Tora Gallaway, you are?" she stuck out her hand as she had been taught. Only polite, you know.

I wonder if Professor Airey could fix a TV to work at Hogwarts. I really hope so. I just can't miss another great football season. Hmm... maybe Minerva could? She is a good--

Forrest's thoughts were cut off by an apologising girl. He wasn't annoyed or anything though. He simply listened to the girl because she had burst into HIS compartment and he didn't have anything else to do. Thinking made him sad. So he focused on her. She looked embarrassed enough to have burst into his--was that HIS Oreo she was holding? His eyes narrowed at the sweets curiously, and he didn't hear past the '...full to bursting...' He still didn't look hostile--because it could be hers too; but if it was his, he wanted that back.

How to check his pockets without being rude to her?

"Yeah you can sit with me," he said lamely. He didn't tell her his name, because he hadn't heard her question. He was too preoccupied with that Oreo there. He looked into her eyes at last and smiled a little. Hmm... she was his age. But he didn't know her. Because she didn't tell her name.

Wonder if she would?

Making his way through the corridor, peeking his head in compartments along the way, Asher finally found an empty seat. With his bag in hand, he entered and placed his things on the seat. He had left his trunk with the other luggage, but his bag held valuable items. Much too valuable to leave unattended.

Wondering if anyone would join him, Asher pulled out a quidditch magazine and began drooling over all of the wonderful brooms inside. He had a rough summer at home, but he did manage to save up half the amount he needed for a new broom. One more summer and he would have it. Excited at the though, a smile crept over his face and his eyes sparkled.

Eliza was in a bit of a daze. She was still tired from staying up so late in celebration of her last day of summer, so she chose a seat in the middle of the train and rested her chin in her hands. This year would be interesting for her. Interesting in a good way, she hoped. While she'd not have one of her good friends around at the school anymore, she knew she still had a few others that she could spend time with. Might even meet some more as time went by.

For now though, she let her mind dial down and let the warmth of her robes comfort her on this long ride. She let her hazel eyes trace the shapes of the trees and hills zooming past the train windows and felt her lids grow heavy.

The middle of the train seemed like a safe option.

Actually, to Charlie, nowhere seemed like a safe option, really. What if there was some secret code that she didn't know about? What if it WASN'T even secret?! Like, did the first years sit one end, and the sevenths another? Or was it find at seat and claim it, quick? By the looks of things, she would be lucky to find even a tiny corner with the amount of people on the train.

Pulling her pencil from behind her ear, Charlie took to the old habit of chewing on the end out of nervousness. Most compartments emitted noice, so she chose one that seemed almost silent, and pulled the door open. That was when she noticed the girl, who looked asleep.

Shoot! was all she could think. "Uh, sorry, I.... er, I didn't realise that someone was in here.... I hope I didn't disturb you or....."

Chew pencil.

Chew pencil more.

Tora lowered her hand awkwardly.... this boy was obviously one of those who got uncomfortable with the "formalness" of her introductions. Though this boy didn't look uncomfortable. Actually if anything he looked a little distracted. She looked down at the Oreo package in her hand wondering if that had anything to do with it. Probably did since the boy was staring right at it. Way to be obvious.

When she looked back up it was into the boy's eyes. Oh. Her age. She saw the quirk of a smile and responded in kind as she sat herself down across from the boy.

Referring to the boy as "the boy" in her thoughts reminded her that he still had yet to answer her question. "Um, what's your name?" she asked again just in case he hadn't heard the first time round.

Had he been that obvious? Forrest reprimanded himself mentally, and resolved to look into her eyes only.

He sometimes still eyed the Oreo though. Because he wondered how it was, even if it was hers.

"Forrest. What's yours?"

Tora blinked in surprise. Hadn't the boy heard her introduction? Hadn't he noticed her offered hand? Hmm. Apparently not.

"Tora Gallaway." she said cutting out the handshake and her slight annoyance. Whatever, it wasn't worth getting angry over.

Tora regarded Forrest critically. He definitely wasn't a Ravenclaw like herself, she probably would have remembered him from the common room. One of the other houses then. Her next guess would either be Hufflepuff or Slytherin. But all the puffers she had seen had always been with a group of friends. So Slytherin? She shrugged to herself and decided to just ask.

"So what house are you?" she asked with a bit of exasperation. She knew that Forrest couldn't have seen into her mind to know what she was thinking about, and so would have no idea where the exasperation came from, but Tora couldn't help a little bit leak into her voice.

And then she realized the boy had been staring at her face the entire time she had been analyzing him. Which reminded her.... "Sorry, I shouldn't have been staring." she added belatedly more out of politeness than actual sincereness. After all Forrest had been staring at her too. Was continuing to stare actually.

Ohh. Tora would bet anything he was trying not to look at the cookie. Especially when the only times he looked away from her eyes were o look at the Oreo. She sighed. "Do you want it?" after all it wasn't technically hers. She had only found it a couple minutes ago. "Personally I would be careful though. I found it on the ground in the corridor so who knows what hexes might be in it." she thought it nice to give him a fair warning.

Ariana Logan, seventh year and nothing to show for it, surely her father wouldn't be too proud of that. He always saw her being everything he wasn't, prefect quidditch something, eventually head girl, but let's be honest, Ariana just didn't care for any of that really. She didn't want to be a prefect or head anything or quidditch anything. She was just Ariana. She failed some classes and barely made it by to be considered for quidditch, she wasn't the best player on the field by a long shot, but was better then most, considering she made the team three years running. But there was something different about this term, something off about the girl. Some might say she was just being dramatic given that her boyfriend of over a year was not only not at Hogwarts but traveling some distant place like Egypt or something by himself, possibly getting himself killed. She thrilled the ring on her hand that he had sent her just days before and smiled faintly. Of course a front ring wasn't librarians to wear and it didn't match her outfit at all, but it was from him so she wore it, like her bracelet he always wore, she would wear it as much, if not everyday, as she could.

Finding an empty compartment the girl tossed her bag onto the floor not even really caring and just stood there. She would not cry, she would NOT cry, she told herself not to do it. It was scaring boarding the train to go back for the last time and it surely scared Ariana. All of her friends knew what they were doing with their lives weather it was Professional Quidditch, or Uni to learn to be a healer or working elsewhere, everyone seemed to know where they belonged in the world. All except her, and here it was, her final year and she had NO IDEA what was next for her, not a clue. Finally she sat down and pulled her knees to her chest and just took in a breath.

She slacked off for six years, and with only one left, what was she going to do.

Taking the first bit of walking the train Minerva welcomed the alone time even if she wasn't really alone. Students were busy being happy, happy with a new school year, nervous, excited. She smiled at all of them even if she wasn't feeling smiley inside. She had to be smiley, peppy, and happy for all of them and she would be. She reached up and pet her purple ball of fluff who was sitting quietly on her shoulder. She felt sad for the little girl. Two years now.. two years her puff had gotten close with a furry friend and then came to start a new year without them. Not that she had lost Elise completely. She would see Elise at Christmas but that was months away yet.

As she walked Minerva noticed a lone person in one of the compartments. She looked upset and Minerva felt she knew why. Her insides hurt seeing her best friend look so sad, but feeling the same way. She opened the door and slowly making her way in. "Hey Ariana. You alright?" She took the seat next to the girl knowing hugs were necessary. Placing the pygmy puff down on the ground she watched as it bounced slowly looking around for a friend.

"Who brought you to the station today?" She wished she would have thought about Oakey already being gone. Min knew that she was having it rough, but Ari was going to have it even worse. She was at least seeing Ethan with her mirror, at Hogsmeade, and holidays. Oakey was who knows where doing who knows what. He couldn't even thought of his girlfriends feelings before he just up and left. Her rocky friendship with him already wasn't proving to get any better seeing how sad her best friend seem to be.

Brodie went into another compartment, luckily empty... He really wasn't looking forward to this year. He was alone and now he and Taylor had gotten into an argument because she was so snobby... This was just annoying now... He wanted to just get off the train but where would he go? Back to a hollow in a tree? Beg his parents for forgiveness that he didn't really care if he got or not? They'd force him into trying to win Rachel back or going after Vikki, neither of which did he want to do. So no... He'd just have to be miserable at Hogwarts or at least until he no longer needed a crutch and his arm in a sling so he would be able to get a job and make a life of his own.

we are NOT crying, not today, nope. Anyway, the girl shifted in her seat ever so slightly as she heard the door open. "I'm really not feeling like company so if you would just ple.." then she picked her head up. "Oh, Sorry Min." she really didnt want company but Min was welcomed company, she wanted min, Minnie was ok. " im ok" she said with a shrug though her words hung dry covered with lies, she was not ok, no where near ok even. she looked down at the ground as a little Pink Pygmy puff (https://www.universalorlando.com/images/P_Toys_Plush_HarryPotter_Toys_PygmyPuff_1231673.JP G)crept out of her bag, and she totally forgot she was in there, the little puff seemed confused and scared "merlin! Sorry Maddy!" she said scooping the little friend up and making sure she was ok. "i forgot you we're in there." she was a bad momma and this is why she was not aloud to have nice things. "mum brought me, but she left before i crossed into the platform, something about her emotions or whatever." yeah, emotions she was trying to avoid those so good on you mum.

Minerva looked down, Ariana was not alright, but to push it further or not was the question. Min knew her friend and knew what the seventh year was capable of. Her herself had been at the other end of Ariana's wand once. Starting off cautiously she gave a weak smile, "Ari.. You know it's alright not to be.." Min sighed and looked away trying to keep from loosing it herself. Her voice felt like it was shakier than she wanted it to be. "I'm not..." and she wasn't.. She felt so sad, but didn't want to show it to everyone. Plus she felt nervous and anxious on being Prefect this term. It was all to much. Someone was trying to put her back into St. Mungos she was sure of it.

Looking down at the pygmy puff Min gave a small smile. "Oh I almost forgot you had one now. Fluffy look a new friend." She watched as Fluffy came over and looked up to where Ariana had taken the new puff. Picking up her own Pygmy puff she let Fluffy move towards Maddy as she looked back up at Ariana. "I'm sorry I should have looked for you so you wouldn't have been alone." She was starting off as a horrible prefect being bossy earlier and now a horrible friend. When did she become so self absorbed that she couldn't look for her best friend at the platform. She looked down "Sorry about that."

Empty compartment?Oh would you look at that! She'd finally found somewhere to sit.

The little fairy (http://www.polyvore.com/zoom_hogwarts_express/set?id=95536162#fans) along with her cat, Whiskers entered the compartment and plonked down on a seat. Her luggage was all in that compartment where everybody else's was and Abbi was quite impressed with herself for taking it there all by herself. Her fairy muscles were clearly improving.

Her small arms were tired now though and the choo choo train wasn't so fun to be on because it didn't stop moving. She wanted to be AT Hogwarts already, maybe they were almost there? Probably not. Donny had told her it would take long. If only she hadn't lost him she wouldn't be so bored.

Sigh. At least she had a pretty view, a view which gave her a good idea. The little eleven year old opened the window. "Aaaaaah....aaahhhhhh." She opened her mouth at the open air, it made her voice go all funny and she ended up giggling at herself.

First class entertainment. Yeah!

Red O'Connell walked into a compartment that was empty, she had only made one friend so far and hadn't spoken to him since being in Diagon Alley. She hoped to make a friend from her own year, but so far wasn't very successful. Her parents hadn't waved goodbye, and nor did she want them too, but at the moment, she felt unbelievably alone.

Sighing, she took out her pad and pen and decided to write some more of her story, when a chapter was finished, she completed it with an image, this time, it was a young boy sitting alone under a willow tree, a brightly coloured creature lurking behind it with an unsavoury look on its face, all drawn in black ink and coloured in watercolour paints. Smiling at her creation, she began writing the next chapter, hoping someone would come and say hello, or inspire her for her story.

Adi (http://www.polyvore.com/first_train_ride/set?id=95331556) led the way, looking for a compartment as if he knew the train. But honestly, he hadn't the faintest idea where he was. He turned sheepishly to Anna. "Uhh. I think I'm lost. Exactly where are we?'' He blinked and looked away, feeling his cheeks turning warm. Great! What an impression to make on his new friend. He could see students milling around, some not so older than he was and some way older. Did they just select a random compartment? From where he was standing, he could see a few empty ones.

So that trunk was heavy, so Charlie had left it behind in the luggage compartment. Instead he just had his little rucksack. In it he had his wand and his robes. And of course sweets. Not many though, he was going to get super slim this year at school. So his cousin wouldn't pick on him.

He almost skipped down the train rather happy that he was finally going to Hogwarts. He never thought this day would arrive. And it was here. His pockets jangled as he skipped. He looked in each compartment as he passed. There was a single person in one. He stopped and took a step back. It was Red.

He smiled, and pulled the door open. "Red?" he exclaimed, bounding in. "You're here too." Well where else would she be? She was going to Hogwarts like he was after all.

He plonked himself down next to her and peered at her drawing. "Watcher doing?" His eyes widened, "That's really good." Better than anything he could ever draw.

Forrest STILL didn't get the clues--hey, SHE was the clever one here!--and looked as pleasantly as he could. Tora... nope, he didn't know her. But they had met NOW! He smiled. "Nice to meet you." He looked confused, gaze at the roof and lips repeating it silently; before a smile spread slowly. That rhymed! Now he understood better why people said it. He LOVED rhymes, and he couldn't believe how he'd never noticed that before.

GREAT mind working here, do not disturb.

And that great mind was, quite understandably, closed to her exasperation and critical looks; because it was too busy rediscovering the power of rhymes. But he heard her question this time, thankfully. However, it took him about two seconds to stop moving his lips silently, focus his gaze back on her and actually not look like an idiot.

Ahem.

"Hufflepuff," he said, and tried to stop his mind from thinking something that rhymed with that. "You?"

Oh, staring. Of course. Forrest DID get sarcasm like that. Occasionally. When he wanted to hear the ugly truth. He knew he had been staring too, but he didn't want to admit it out loud. He wasn't that open to dealing with the ugly truth, so he just shrugged to indicate it was alright, and looked out of the window. That should prevent him from staring at her--

Wait was she offering HIS Oreo?

He hadn't really checked, but he was sure it was his. He turned back at her with immediate effect and just stared at her while he processed her warning. Was it really..? That was his cue to check his pockets. His hands moved niftily around his clothes, and he looked pleased witht he outcome of his search.

"I don't think so. That must be mine. I must have dropped it off, y'see." She would understand why. None of his pockets were deep enough to actually hold it. "But yeah, help yourself." He wasn't going to eat it all by himself. It'd be rude.

Red was so caught up in her writing, she completely failed to notice the compartment door open, a voice spoke, she looked up and saw a friendly face, it was Charlie! "Hello Charlie, where else would I be?" she said smiling, it was odd, she couldn't speak to any other male people, but talking to Charlie was so easy now.

As he sat down next to her she was shocked, nobody ever sat next to her, not when there was somewhere else to sit. She smiled saying, "Oh, when I get bored, or am alone, I write stories, after each one, or each chapter, I draw a scene from it,"
she had never shown it to anybody, much less told anybody about it, "No, it's really not that good, I have seen things other people do much better." it was true, how could she compete with real artists, nothing she could do was half as good as their work, even people in her class were better than her at drawing, they all said so.

Charlie shrugged, thinking for a moment. "Um you could be...at another school. Or maybe still in Diagon Alley. Or dunno really." He wasn't the smartest of people when it came to thinking up things on the spot.

He leant over her shoulder, watching her as she drew. "What's that?" he asked, pointing at the thing behind the tree. "I'd run if I was that boy." He wouldn't get very far, but he'd make a good effort of it. It would be more of a waddle than a run though.

Bring on the next school year. Less food, more exercise. Maybe he should take up Quidditch after all. He could be like that Marco Denver. An awesome Keeper. Not that his mother knew he followed the sport, because if she did, she would shout at him something fierce.

Annabeth smiled at Adi and said "Adi, we just need select on of them, any compartment is good. This one, for example" she stood in front of a compartment and slid the door open. There was a boy hid behind of a quidditch magazine. She recognized the top of his head and asked

"Hey, Asher! May I, I mean, may we come in?" She remained standing at the door, waiting for him reply, her best smile on her face..

Dylan (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=96045868) walked along the corridor of the train, carrying the cat cage in his one arm and his guitar case in the other. He glanced into each compartment as he walked past them, hoping to find an empty one or one with someone he knew inside. But to his disappointment, this train was packed with several students he didn't know. Merlin's beard! Where was Melanie or Hazel or Mack?! Frowning, he was about to give up and go sit with some random students when he spotted an empty one. Sighing with relief, he slid the door open and placed the cat cage and case down upon the seat and let out from her cage. The eleven year old then took a seat by the window after taking out his guitar. He began to strum softly on it while he looked out the window. Ginger bounded over next to him and curled up by his legs and began to purr.

Having woken up slightly later than usual, she hadn't had the time to grab breakfast before boarding the train. But now she could grab something that, hopefully, wasn't filled with sugar to make her tummy feel slightly better.

As she walked through the corridors, she couldn't help but notice how Huffleouff she looked in the reflections. She wasn't a Hufflepuff though. Nope, she was pure Gryffindor. While she looked through the windows and at her reflection she noticed a familiar looking person sitting alone in a compartment with a guitar.

Hey.

Wait.

HEY.

She knew that kid. Smiling, Melanie knocked on the compartment door then opened it. "Hey, Dylan, what are you playing?" she asked, pushing up the beanie on her head just a little and then entering the compartment. And oh hey look, cat.

"Hi, Melanie!" he said brightly with a little wave. He then glanced down at his guitar and then back at his friend. "I'm just playing this song by an old Muggle band." he told her. She gave a little wave of her own before nodding her head. She slid into the seat across and eyed the feline. Melanie hadn't sneezed yet, so she was really hoping this was a muggle cat and not a kneazle. Or well, at least not a full kneazle. "I love old Muggle songs," she said, smiling, then glancing at the cat again.

Do not get near Melanie. Do not get near Melanie. Do not get near Melanie. If it got near Melanie and she started sneezing she would have to excuse herself. "Aren't you excited about Hogwarts?" she asked.

Because Melanie remembered the first time she was on the train like it was just yesterday. She was with Landon and Alice and the train had broken down. It wasn't pleasant but the company was lovely. It was strange how she wasn't sitting with either of them now actually... though she understood why. "What's... uhm... what's his... her name?" she asked, gesturing to the cat/possible kneazle.

Dylan had never really played in front of anyone before...except for his younger brother Blake, once a few years ago. But other than that, he didn't feel comfortable around others playing. Except Melanie...he just felt so comfortable around her. It was a bit odd.

He then nodded eagerly at her question. "I am! Very excited." he said, grinning and glancing out the window. Come on train, FASTER FASTER! Dylan was so eager to get to Hogwarts already and get sorted and everything... he was so excited. "What about you?" he then asked as he began to play softly on his guitar again.

Then Melanie was gesturing to Ginger. "Oh, her name is Ginger! She's real friendly, you can pet her if you'd like." he told her with a small nod as he continued to play.

Oh! It would be cool if they could join the boy. The more the merrier. Plus, Adi could make another friend.

As he continued looking through his new quidditch magazine, he could almost feel the wind sweeping across his face as he zoomed across the pitch, dodging bludgers and diving for the quaffle. Suddenly he was pulled out of his daydream by the sound of voices.

Looking up, it took him a moment to register where he was. "Oh, hi. Yes, please do come in." Asher pulled his bag off the bench and placed it overhead. "I'd love some company."

Dylan nodded. "I do know that song actually, my little sister always wants me to play it for her." he said chuckling. He didn't mind the song, it wasn't too bad. He sat more upright in his seat and glanced up at Melanie, smiling. "Ready?" he asked.

He then listened as she told him about the feast and he made a mental note in his head to keep his pockets stuffed with treats once he got around to getting some sweets later on the train ride. "I will," he told her with a small nod at what she said about not being so excited. "I get that, buuut you really should enjoy and savor every second." he said. It'd definitely be hard leaving Hogwarts, Dylan knew that for sure. Poor Melanie. He was tempted to give her a tight comfort hug but... he was too lazy. And he had a guitar on his lap and Ginger was all comfy by him. Perhaps later. Heh.

"She's very nice, I love her." he said, looking fondly at the kitten who was now sleeping soundly next to him. He glanced up at Melanie, seeing that she hadn't said anything about wanting to pet Ginger. Huh. Maybe she wasn't much of a cat person...? Ah, well. No matter. He mentally shrugged it off. "I just hope she doesn't get lost at Hogwarts. I gotta keep a close eye on her, she loves to explore any chance she gets." he added with a laugh.

"You have a little sister?" That was cute. Melanie had always wanted a little sister... and an older sister but she had Abby for that. She watched the younger boy sit up straight and supposed she ought to do the same. Melanie pushed the beanie up a little more on her forehead and cleared her throat. "Ready," she said.

Melanie ought to go stock up on some sweets later too. She had no food in her bag, sadly. The only food she had packed was instant noodles and that was in her trunk. She didn't want to starve in case the house elves weren't back yet. "I will, it's just a bit harder when you don't have your best friend around," she said with a shrug and a bit of a sad smile. "But hey, you're going to have a fantastic seven years here at Hogwarts." Melanie would pinky promise to that.

The she was nice. Melanie was sure of that. Melanie just wasn't sure if that feline would be nice to her. That was a whole different thing. She just sneaked a quick glance at the cat. Was it staring at her? Melanie wasn't sure. She quickly averted her gaze to outside the train's window. When Dylan started to speak again, she looked at him and smiled. "I'm sure she'll be a good kitty and won't get lost. If she does, I'll help look for her." But Melanie wasn't going to touch Ginger.

She still had her knees to her chest and her little puff, she called Madison (Maddy for short) was sitting up on her knees looking down at the other puff. Ariana poked its furry back and egged it on, "go on Maddy, she's a puff like you." she said to her pink friend, and that's when Min said the words, not just any words but the words she didn't want her to say because she herself didn't want to admit it. it's alright not to be.., the words rang in her ears and she knew, knew she wasn't ok, she knew she was sad, not only about Oakey, she had come to an ok stance with that even though it still hurt but she had this gut feeling that she just disappointing her dad, and she didn't realize this till only a few moments ago and it was true, she was not ok. " i just." she said quietly as Maddy finally jumped off her knees and onto the bench with the other puff as the two examined each other Ariana stared at them, not able to look up at her friend yet. " i didn't linger, only got to the platform a few moments ago and came straight here." though there was that incident at the wall with that kid falling over that made her laugh but she was sad now. sad, sad, sad.

"You're parent's would be real super proud of you you know." she said casually still looking at the puffs. she never had the honor of meeting them, her parents but they Raised Min and they did a damn good job so she knows they would be proud. Hell even her own mum was proud of her for that badge. " my mum is proud of you too, says you deserve it." you know she did say that. Ariana was sure to tell her right after Min did and that's when it happened, she tried to hold it back but couldn't she let out the tiniest sniffle indicating that she was holding back tears but it wasn't enough it was like the hoover dam was breaking and she was using a band-aid to cover the cracks. Tears started to silently stream down my face as she slowly looked up at her friend. "i wish i could say my poppa would be proud of me." he'd be 'ok' and sure he'd say he was proud but he always spoke his wishes for her to her and Ariana fulfilled ZERO of them.

What a sad excuse for a daughter.

Minerva watched as the pygmy puff seemed not willing to greet Fluffy, “It’s alright, Fluffy was super shy as well, but grew very comfortable with Grim and Pixar Damon’s pets and then Elise, Ethan’s cat. So Maddy will come around.” Min smiled at the memory of how shy Fluffy was and how nonshy the little ball of energy seemed to be now. Blue eyes softened as she heard her best friend’s two words. She knew Ariana wasn’t alright, but was it just Oakey or something else as well. She sighed, “Well I am sorry.. I was just caught up with… “ she took a breath trying to control the emotions, but why she didn’t have to hide around Ariana. She was the one person Min knew she could break down in front of, but it wasn’t fair. She had Ethan all summer, she would have Ethan in her mirror and visits. Ari didn’t have that and it just was not right. She had no right to be upset in front of her friend. Biting her lip she looked down. “I’m here now..” That’s what mattered didn’t it. She was there.

Blue eyes snapped up from the puffs when Ariana said parents. WHAT!! NOT NOW.. Why would she bring… Min’s lip went to her teeth again, but this time it wasn’t enough to stop. “I.. I hope they are. I try so hard, I have every term just to make sure I don’t screw up for them.” She owed them that and after last term she felt like she failed everything she had worked so hard to achieve. Wiping a tear that had fallen down her cheek she looked shocked at Ariana, “Your mom? That’s sweet of her. Ethan’s parents seemed really happy as well. I just hope I don’t disappoint anyone that has too much faith in me.” She fidgeted with her fingers at the thoughts. It was bad enough trying to prove your worth to parents that weren’t even living, but to prove it to other people’s parents that seemed to have way to much faith in her was a lot of pressure. What was Hadley thinking….

Her mind couldn’t go back to that, because in the next second Min was blinking at Ariana. She had only seen her friend cry a few times. Ariana was one of the strongest people Minerva knew. She didn’t know if anything could break those walls around her best friend. At times she even felt she was on the outside of those guarded walls, but not today. She heard the sniffle and saw the break ready to happen and then the words. Minerva sat there shaking her head, “No.. no.. Ariana Quinn Logan you listen to me. He would be very proud of you. You are one of the bravest and strongest people I know. You are a brilliant witch. Do you remember are first meeting? You flipped me so fast with that wand and we were third years. Not many third years could do that spell.” She gave a small smile before pulling her friend into a hug. “He would be beyond proud of the person you are. You are amazing Ariana and never think any less than that.”

She couldn't help the slight chuckle that escaped her lips at the memory, "sorry bout that." the flipping thing. that was one of the first spells she had done when her magic kicked in she was forever just flipping things accidentally, so it was a second nature thing. the black haired girl found it funny that something as silly as a flipping spell brought her her closet and dearest friend. Two terms back she would of had Max in that best friend spot, but you know, since he was gone and skipped off to America with that girl... she didn't like that girl. but now she had a Min and a Oakey, and plenty of other people who actually cared what she had to say or of what she thought despite their boyfriends or girlfriends or houses or knezels or whatever.

That was all in the past though she didn't even really think about Max as a friend anymore, he hadnt been since elliot came around, which made the girl a bit sad since he was her first friend but people drift apart and move and stuff, but Min didn't, no, she wouldn't do that, and if she did she'd ask Ariana to go with her she didn't doubt that. Ariana leaned into the girl when she pulled her in and more tears trickled down, " he just always spoke so highly of all the things i would do at hogwarts, he wanted me to be like him and mum, turns out im not.... literally, you know." not their biological child and all. " im just a normal kid who fails classes and doesn't get noticed for anything. average." the exact opposite of what her father spoke on her..

So no... He'd just have to be miserable at Hogwarts or at least until he no longer needed a crutch and his arm in a sling so he would be able to get a job and make a life of his own.Trunk and owl safely tucked away, Claudette took the opportunity to wander the corridor. It was sort of hitting her all at once that she really didn't know anyone, save for Minerva who had her own thing going on and the few people she had briefly met during her brief trips to London.. not that she saw any of them yet. Though maybe she'd run into one or two. And Christmas, of course.. though she hadn't talked to her former Beauxbatons classmate in so long, she wasn't even sure if she attended Hogwarts anymore. The 16 year old came to the realization that she needed to make a friend or two and it all of the sudden seemed like a daunting task. Especially when everyone seemed to already know everyone else.

Green eyes scanned the different compartments as she walked through the corridor, seeing that most were already filled with people talking and having a good time. This was ridiculous.. she was not a shy person, she normally had no problem just being friendly and joining a conversation. What was her deal today? She made up her mind to walk straight into the next compartment, no matter who was in there, and strike up a conversation.

And the next compartment she came across happened to hold a one boy inside, one who appeared to be about her age. Donning a pleasant smile, Claudette pulled open the compartment door and stepped inside. "Hello," she addressed the boy, her French accent moderately apparent. "Mind if I have a seat?" It was sort of too bad if he did mind, because the blonde made her way over to the bench across from him and lowered herself onto it. Besides.. it was the gentlemanly thing to do, to allow a girl a seat.. he wasn't rude, was he?

Annabeth took a seat near to the window and organised her stuff in a way that it wouldn't take too much space. She looked at the Quidditch magazine.
"Oh, it should be wonderful playing Quidditch! I never played it.... actually, the few times I flied a broom were at Hogwarts... What about you?"
She looked excitedly at the boys, Quidditch should be a good way to begin a nice chat. She was eager to talk, as she had spent the whole summer speaking the strict necessary. Then she realized she hadn't introduced her friends.

"I'm sorry about that, guys, I forgot to introduce you: Asher, this is Adi, he's a first year. Adi, this is Asher, he's my classmate, he's a Puffie like me and a second year student." It should be enough, she thought. The boys could add whatever they want to talk about themselves. She grinned.

Brodie stayed laying back until he heard the door open, so help him if it was Tay-... No, not Taylor, some other girl he'd never met... Which wasn't odd, he barely knew anyone at the school, he was only in his second year here anyways so it was alright he didn't recognize them right? He gave a small nod to her, "Hey." He shook his head to her question, "Not at all, go right ahead." He sat up slightly hoping to give her more room without having to stop elevating his legs.

"I'm Brodie." He gave a small smile, not wanting to seem rude, "And may I ask who you may be?"

This just made it a bit easier and Claudette tilted her head, leaving the smile to stay on her lips, as she watched him make a little more room for her. "Thank you.." she said graciously as she allowed her green eyes to fall on the feet near her on the seat. At least they weren't muddy or anything..

She crossed her own feet at the ankles, then peered back up at him as he made his introduction. "Nice to meet you Brodie," she began with a slight nod of her head. "My name is Claudette.. I'm new to Hogwarts this term.." As in, she really didn't know anyone.. or what to expect, really. Other than the few things her cousin and his girlfriend might have mentioned when she saw them. And certainly there would be no dementors this term. She lifted her eyes to the window, watching for a moment as the scenery rushed past them. "Is it a very long train ride?"

He nodded, "I'm sorry for kinda taking the seat." Brodie gave a weak smile and motioned to the sling around his left arm, "Healing the muggle way just sucks sometimes and both of my legs are still healing from the accident. Doctor's orders to keep them elevated as much as possible." He gave a small shrug, once again, not wanting to be rude.

Oh... another new student? So just like him last year, "I can relate." He nodded, "This is my second year here myself." Brodie looked at the girl, she didn't look that much younger than himself, "So believe me, I know what it's like... Still do, I don't know anyone here besides my ex to be honest." He once again shrugged to her question, "I wish I could tell you, but I never paid attention to how long it took before, I wish I would have... I have a feeling if you talk to someone it passes faster than if you're sitting alone."

The firstie nodded, smiling. "Yes, her name is Lydia. I also have a younger brother named Blake," he told her with a tiny nod. "Do you have any siblings?" he then asked curiously, cocking his head a little while looking at her with interest.

Dylan smiled as she cleared her throat and then he began to play the song and gave a small nod towards Melanie for her cue to come in. This was so fun! He was actually playing in front of someone...while having them sing with him. How awesome was that?! He was lucky to have such a great friend like Melanie. He had a good feeling they'd become close this year. Well, he really hoped so at least.

He frowned at what she said about her best friend. "Did your friend graduate or something?" he asked softly, feeling a bit rude for asking her this. Maybe she didn't wanna talk about it...but...he had already went and said it. Can't change that. He began to play with the guitar pick in his fingers while he waited for her to speak. He then smiled when she said he'd have a fantastic seven years. "I have a good feeling I will," he beamed at her.

"You would? That's so nice of you, thanks!" he said, smiling brightly and patting Ginger gingerly.

"Why on earth would I be at another school when I am going to Hogwarts? Honestly, Charlie." she said, smiling. She saw what he was pointing at, the creature behind the tree, "What? Oh, that, I don't know, it's a creature that I made up, it was in a dream I had, quite scary actually." Red replied, some of the dreams she had were very odd, "You would be wise to run, I think." she did, I her dream, didn't get very far, but luckily, it wasn't real.

But she decided that this year, she was going to get fit, at home, she wasn't aloud out of the house, and at school, she wasn't in any clubs because they all bullied her, but this year, it would be different, she was going to be in clubs, and have friends, it would be great.

Minerva chuckled, “Don’t be it was… interesting to say the least and we have a great story to tell on how we became friends.” Her mind went to the soul reason they became friends. Probably the only time she would ever udder the words thank you to Maxwell. “It’s weird being in the middle of the train. We always sat in the back. “ The little group that was no more, that hadn’t been in a few terms. It seemed only Ariana and Min survived that breaking apart. She was still friends with all but Maxwell, but it wasn’t the same anymore. Only Ariana was the same and she wasn’t changing that.

Still hugging her friend Minerva couldn’t help but chuckle. “Ariana if there is one thing you are not it is average. You are amazing. I think your dad would be crazy not be so proud of you. You are in your seventh year and in this school being alive still I think speaks for itself of not being average.” Killer plants, dementors what more proof did she need to know that she wasn’t just an average person. “Plus you work hard and care about your classes now. I remember a girl who didn’t care, but that changed a few years ago. Making that decision for yourself is something to be proud of.” Minerva had countless things that Ari should be proud of. “Plus you are a born leader Ari, you don’t take crap from anyone and people do look up to you. I’ve seen some of your younger students.” She glanced down at the puffs again. “Being a strong person helps with that I think. You don’t need a badge to lead.” Min couldn’t help but look at her badge, she wasn’t like Ariana, she wasn’t the strong type.

Looking back up and ignoring that horrible feeling in her stomach that she should not be wearing that badge, Minerva pushed thoughts out of her head. This was about Ariana not herself, which at the moment was helping her, but another thought went into her head and she bit her lip for a few seconds trying to get the words out, “Plus anyone who meets some random girl even if she flipped her first, finds out she has so much baggage and is so damaged, but still sticks by her even when she goes and gets herself poisoned. Now that is a person with a huge heart. Most people would have gotten frustrated and walked away. Many have…” Thoughts of Justin and her relatives crossed her mind. “Your dad has so many reasons to be proud of you.” She hoped Ariana could see this. She looked down and saw the cute ring on Ari’s hand, [b] “Ari you are going to do great this term. We will both get through this term.” She wasn’t sure if she was trying to convince herself or Ari of that one. “Come the end of term all our parents here or not will be proud.” She then nudged her friend a bit, “Plus after this we have the world to drive a little nuts.” She tried to laugh a bit, that’s what they both needed. “Can you picture us on a campus somewhere together? “ Of course they would be together. Wouldn’t they? She knew she would be wherever Ethan was, but they would have a program Ari would be interested in as well so why not have her in the same place.

Adi followed Anna into the compartment. He grinned at the other guy as he took a seat near the window opposite to Anna. It was his first journey to Hogwarts and he wanted to see the scenery as it flew by. "I haven't played quidditch as yet,'' he replied, still focusing outside where the last of the students were boarding the train. "We live around muggles, you see. So, I didn't have wizarding friends.'' Which was fine with him. It gave him the opportunity to appreciate muggles and their way of life. "But I did zoom around the yard sometimes, using my mom's broomstick.''

Introduction! Adi had forgotten all about that too! He held out his hand. "My full name is Aditya Rehman. But you can call me Adi as Anna said. It's nice to meet you, Asher.'' All these Hufflepuffs seemed so cool! Adi was starting to hope he was sorted into the House. "Hey, have you guys realised our names all start with A?'' It was nothing big but what a coincidence!

Charlie shrugged again, "Well I guess." What a stupid question he had asked. Maybe he was getting flustered. Nah that wasn't it. He didn't get flustered around women. He just didn't like them. Must be in his genes. He always did wonder who his father was.

"Why isn't he running?" he asked, pointing at the boy under the tree. "Do you normally have scary dreams?" Maybe if she had friends, like Charlie, she would feel more safe.

"Do you want a sweetie?" he asked. He was starting to get hungry. And he needed something to keep him going. He opened his bag, and spilt some of the sweets in his lap. "I have chocolate frogs. And fizzy whizzbees. They are my favourite." Charlie was happy to share with her.

"Oh.. you're injured?" Green eyes squinted as she peered at the fabric wrapped around his arm, then glanced at his feet next to her again. This wasn't some rouse just so he could be all casual and keep his feet on the seat next to her, was it? No.. she didn't really think he was making it up, though she was sure some people would, finding it funny. The blonde looked back at him again, tilting her head questioningly. "Muggle way.. what's that? And why wouldn't you use magic? I'm sure it's much more efficient.." He was a wizard, wasn't he? Well, of course he was.. or he wouldn't be on this train right now.. so she wasn't sure why the muggle stuff or exactly what that entailed.

"Just your second year..?" The French girl smiled lightly to know that he could perhaps relate a little bit being somewhat new and all.. something in common, maybe, to talk about for a little while, at least while she was here. "Are you also in your sixth year, like myself?" She looked at him a bit appraisingly again, seemed to be about her age.. She also wondered where he had come from and why Hogwarts, but did not want to come off as inquisitorial.. that was a dreadfully annoying trait and she had enough social graces to know otherwise. Claudette nodded a bit as he spoke, looking out the window again, then her eyes snapped back to his again and she leaned forward peering at him curiously. "You only know one person after going to school there a whole year?" And said person being his ex.. how dreadful. "The people there aren't that unfriendly, are they?" She glanced back to the compartment door, biting her lip.. Surely she could make more than one friend in an entire year.. or else she might think transferring for a year was a big mistake.

Red could see Charlie was getting a bit uncomfortable, "Don't worry, I say the obvious too, lots of people say it when they don't know what else to say." she said, hoping that made him feel a little bit better. She always did seem to point out the obvious, maybe that was why she got teased.

"Well, I don't know why he isn't running, not yet anyway, I haven't thought of the next chapter yet, I might make it so that he fights it or something, I don't know," she said, "Any ideas?"

"Oh, well, I get them sometimes, but they always help me with my writing, but sometimes, sometimes they are really scary and I can't sleep, but I'm sure it happens to loads of people." she said, it was true, she did have lots of bad dreams, almost every night in fact, but she wouldn't tell Charlie that, he might worry.

Then he asked her about sweets, but she wasn't aloud them. "Oh, no, I couldn't, I'm not aloud them," she said, hoping she didn't offend him or anything.

He gave a small nod, "Yeah..." Brodie was about to explain until she had asked, "I worked at a muggle camp when this happened and my boss and a couple of friends from the camp knew how bad the injuries were and tried to visit as much as possible... Might seem odd to them when someone who has only a fifteen percent chance of living up and healthy again in maybe a week." He looked at her and sighed, "And I'd be lying if I said I liked healing more than just letting time mend it. It's how I was raised." And both his parents were wizards.

Brodie shook his head, "Seventh year." He shrugged, "Well, I didn't really want to know anyone else, normally I keep to myself... I honestly didn't want to come back this year... But I was nagged until I agreed to come back." He admitted. Oh... he didn't mean to scare the girl, "No... I'm sure they aren't. I've always been really quiet and just didn't really talk to anyone else... but I've met a couple people today and they're very kind." He gave a nod to the younger girl and smiled slightly, "I'm sure you'll met people if you actually enjoy socializing.... It's just never been my strong suit. I'm trying to learn to be a little social though." He didn't want to make her think he wanted her to leave, then he'd really feel bad, after all, he knew what it was like to feel unwanted. He just wasn't the kind of person to tell others to scram, even if he didn't want to talk.

His face lit up when Anna asked about quidditch. "Yes, I have played. Many times. Not for the school team, but with my cousins. We play all summer." Well, he should have said they usually play all summer. Not this past summer. No. He had spent the entire summer taking care of his sick mother. On top of that, his dad had been working so much that they didn't even get to go on vacation or fishing.

"How was your summer? Did you get to do anything fun?"

Asher took Adi's hand and shook it. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Adi." He nodded as Adi spoke about muggles. "My moms family are muggles. I have to remember to not talk about magic stuff when we visit them." Those visits were always so long and not fun at all. His grandmother was fine, but his aunts and cousins on that side of the family were nothing but boring. All they ever wanted to do was kick a ball around or ride bicycles.

"Are you excited to be going to Hogwarts? I remember how excited I was last year" he paused a moment, "and scared. I was also a bit scared."

Asher giggled a little "We do all have names that start with A." It must be a sign that they should all be friends. He also hoped that Adi would be sorted into Hufflepuff. Not only was it the best house at Hogwarts, but then they could hang out more, share the same common room, and maybe even have some of the same classes together.

Tora watched as Forrest looked about and silently talked to himself. She hoped he wasn't casting some sort of curse on her, though judging by his facial expression, he was just thinking about something. "Wacha thinking about?" she finally asked when his face lit up at some unknown discovery.

Geez this guy sure got distracted easily. Well, easily unless food was being mentioned. Speaking of which... Tora opened the mini package of Oreos, the kind with only two of them in there, and pulled out one. "We'll share." she said handing the rest of the package over. "Thanks, by the way" she added a second later after swallowing her bite of cookie and cream.

He thought for a moment, "Well maybe he is being stalked by it. Or it is something from his nightmares, like yours. Orrrrr..." Plans were coming out of his ears. "It is his imaginary friend." He had one of them once. That's why he had Fred now. So he didn't have to have anyone imaginary in his life.

Charlie beamed, "I know you aren't. That's why I asked. Cos what's your dad gonna say? He ain't here to tell you off." He was smart sometimes. "What he doesn't know can't kill him...or whatever that saying is."

Red smiled at Charlie, they were very alike in some ways. It was nice to have a friend. "They are very good ideas, I think I will write them down in case I forget them, I could use them in a different story later on," and so she began to write down the ideas, the decided on using the one about his nightmares, it seemed good and she could work with it easily.

"I had an imaginary friend once, only because I didn't have any real ones, but over time, I stopped seeing her, because my father found out and told me it was childish...never mind." her father didn't like her to make things up, he didn't like her playing games in her room as a small child, so she read books instead.

Red grinned, "Well... I suppose you're right, but what if he does find out?" she asked nervously, he always had a way of knowing everything, even if nobody told him.

Charlie smiled and nodded. At least she liked his ideas. Nobody had ever liked anything he had to say before. They just tended to humour him for a while, and then laugh behind his back about how stupid he was. "You can use them whenever you want."

"I had one too. But now I have Fred. So I don't need one." He smiled, pulling Fred the Flobberworm out of his pocket and pushing him up to her face. "See he's real. He squidges too." He gave the flobberworm a squidge, and his eyes bulged a little. It was kinda cute.

He frowned momentarily, thinking. "Are you a muggle? Or is your dad a wizard?" If he was a muggle, it would make sense. He seemed all controlling and nasty. Like Charlie's cousin.

"I won't tell him. I promise," he whispered to her. He pushed some fizzing whizzbees in her direction. "They make you hover slightly. Well not me cos I am to fat, but thin people it does. Like you." Anyone was thinner than him. He'd stopped floating when he was 8.

Lydia and Blake. "They're both such cute names. Do you take care of them well?" she asked, smiling. Melanie wanted a little sibling. She wanted to dress them up though Dylan probably didn't do that. Mostly because Dylan wasn't a girl. "I have an older sister, her name is Abby... we're not blood related though," she said with a nod of her head. And she missed Abby too. Just a term to go then they could go traveling.

Oh! He was playing! Melanie grinned. "Three little birds, sat on my window... and they told me I don't need to worry. Summer came like cinnamon, so sweet... little girls double dutch on the concrete," she sang along with his guitar, grinning. Ah, this was fun. Singing was always fun, it was even more fun with an audience and a giant stage.

Which she was going to get.

Eventually.

"Oh no... he doesn't go to Hogwarts," she said, shrugging her shoulders. She waved the thought away with her hand. "It doesn't matter. Ninety days," she pointed out. Ninety was less than a hundred and less than a third of the year away. She could wait. Melanie was patient. "Just remember to do well in your classes even if you have fun outside," she pointed out. Because school was just as important, if not, more important than running around trying to find the Giant Squid. Which she had yet to do.

She watched the cat being pet. Fur. With a little laugh she just smiled at the boy. "There is a lost and found board... if Ginger goes missing, just put a picture of her up." Assuming Dylan had a picture of the feline, that is.

Annabeth was a bit excited with their chat. It was really wonderful having someone to talk.

"So you played Quidditch all the Summer!? It should be wonderful!" She closed her eyes and added "I dreamed of playing Quidditch so many nights during the Summer and it was so vivid that I woke up feeling my face cold with the wind..." Anna opened her eyes and looked at the boys, grinning. Her grin faded and she added "then I realized I was in home and sometimes, at Professor Lafay's house... It was what I did the whole Summer, I worked as nanny to Professor Lafay and, when she didn't need me, I was with the nightmare which people used to call as the Glasswall family."

She looked through the window, disguising her watering eye. There were too many students with their families outside. The most of them seemed to be sad about leaving their parents. It was a feeling she would love to know and she felt a twinge of envy. The tiny girl whispered her sadness “In my family's eyes,” she sniffled, “I'm not good enough.”

The boys were talking about muggles, she didn't want to talk about it and remained quiet. Then when they talked about their names, she thought it should be fun and turned facing them, shaking her hands and almost standing:
"Hey! We can found a secret society called the 'Triple A'... we can invent codes and passwords... it'll be fun! What do you think about?" She was so excited with the idea which had just popped in her mind that she even had thought about its purpose.

Really, the.girl didnt know what to do with all the praise she was getting from her friend. Though she should of expected this, coming from min really. It was just like her to say all of this. She gave a shrug as she still leaned on her friends shoulder "i dont know" about the whole Uni thing. The girl.never really gave the thought of uni after hogwarts much thought really. She just kinda expected life to.just point her in the right direction, though she knew it wouldnt do that, not really. She was about to open her mouth to say something else when the train stopped. "what?" she said peeling herself off her friend she went over to the window stepping over the two puffs as she did. "we're here. Were at the station" that was Quick! Surely When the train stopped Ariana's forst thought first of the train breaking down again, then dementors, but it was just the station. "come on Madison, we're here." she said leaning over and picking up her bag and grabbing her robes out of them and draping them over her arm. She could put those on as she walked into the castle."Maddy, come on." she said to the stubborn puff as it finally listened and hoped into her hand."she never listens." she said to min as she watched Min gather her things. She opened the compartment door and all the noise from the hall hurried in. She bit her lip and waited for Min in the doorway with her free hand out for her friend, cause Min was holding Ariana's hand weather she liked it or not.

Time to see how observant this kid really was. Then again... he might not even know what she was talking about right now. So she clarified. [b]"My house. Guess."

Thinking about it, Forrest actually had fairly good odds. He would know her if they were in the same house, so that left a one in three chance. And that wasn't even figuring in the characteristics that went with each house.
Forrest obviously hadn't thought about this possibility that she would actually notice his weird mouth-moving and ask it. He just thought that--that she would disappear while he tried to find more rhymes. She would certainly laugh at him if he told the truth. So he shamelessly lied.

Or he tried. But he was no Slytherin, see? So he couldn't come up with lies that easily.

"General... stuff..." He made a gesture with his hands to show it was nothing important.

Distract--food--yes--wonder if she would forget--offered Oreo--

He grabbed the offered Oreo quickly, and threw it to his mouth as a whole. "Weh-com," he said while his mouth was still full. She certainly wouldn't be disgusted? Naaaah. She was eating that stuff. Her mouth was the same too.

"What?" Guess her house? He blinked confusedly at her. He'd swallowed his Oreo, so he wasn't disgusting while he talked anymore. "Erm..." He brazenly gave her an eye-examination from head to toe. If she wanted him to guess, then she had no right to mind his fully examining look. "Gryffindor?" He shrugged. He didn't really know. It was a wild, wild guess.

---------------

Yeah!

Boredom, boredom, borry-borry-boredom. Was it boredom that killed the cat? It certainly could be. It would suit better. Maybe boredom led to curiosity, after all. If had to be, because that was exactly how it happened for this young man: boredom at front cars>>the need to wander around>>hearing a muffled scream>>panic and curiosity>>staring at a fairy screaming out of the window.

Clearly, it was hard to take in at once; so after gaping for a while, he closed her door. Maybe he needed to make a different entrance. Maybe he shouldn't make any entrance at all. She was, after all, a screaming fairy. What did they say about sirens?

He re-opened it with a wild hope for a very scene: a normal girl reading a book or something. But the fairy wings were there, and the girl was still by the window. Maybe he should get the prefects.

Or maybe an immediate act would save her life.

"Hey!" he shouted from the door. He hadn't entered yet. These fairies were very cunning things, it was impossible to trust one.

"Whatcha doin'?" A very legit question, indeed.

He just wasn't the kind of person to tell others to scram, even if he didn't want to talk.Claudette kept her head tilted slightly to the side as she listened curiously to Brodie's explanation, her eyebrow raised slightly as he continued. A Muggle camp? The young pureblood had no idea what that was even remotely about and wasn't sure she had any interest in it other than odd curiosity, so she remained silent on the matter for now, just listening and figuring she'd glean the information from his words. "Of course.." she murmured lightly, her eyes falling on the sling again as he mentioned his visitors, who she assumed to be Muggles by his wording. "But you're not around Muggles now.." she trailed off with her brow furrowed, still not understanding why he wouldn't just use magic now when it was such a quick and easy fix.. and had to be less painful. Enjoying the process made no sense to her either.

Deciding to just let it go for now because she wasn't sure she'd understand it even if he began to explain further, the French girl gave a small smile and nod as he corrected her. At least she was close.. so he was a year or so older. Her smile faltered slightly as he continued, however. "You didn't want to know anyone else..?" she repeated, growing more and more confused by this boy as the conversation continued. The blonde figured he was more than a bit on the antisocial side, which was okay for some, she supposed.. but it had to be awfully lonely.

"Oh, I see.." she said smiling lightly. "Sometimes it's hard to strike up a conversation, especially when you're new.." Even for her at times and her heart went out to the boy, thinking of how isolated he must have felt last term, being new and not feeling like he could talk to anybody. "Oh, that's great.. maybe some lasting friends even, who knows.." she said, smiling a bit wider as he said he met some nice people today. "I do enjoy socializing.. and I'm really excited to meet some new people." One of her biggest reasons for entering the foreign exchange program.. meeting people and experiencing a different culture. "I've often found socialization to be a useful skill.." she said a bit complacently, allowing the hint of a smirk to play on her lips. Not only for the fact that she didn't like to see someone without at least a small handful of friends, but as her mother told her.. sometimes it was who you knew..

Kace was gonna start his second year. He was quite excited. He managed to find a seat in the middle of the train. All was well. He liked the middle compartments anyways. He didn't have Charlene this time because he wanted her to be in the back of the train. Plus she did get restless. Then he sat down in his chair and started to doodle and all.

He was started to sketch his home. It look quite pretty. It was two story, ranch style house. He didn't even realize it till he looked down at it. He was thinking of Hogwarts but nope. I guess he was getting a little homesick right now.

Alright then, don't tell. Tora could see that Forrest obviously was uncomfortable with sharing whatever it was that he was thinking about. She guessed that she could understand that, even though it only made her curiosity burn brighter. So she reluctantly decided to let the matter drop. For now. Maybe when they were better friends Tora could ask again.

"Um... No. Definitely not. Yeah wayyy no. I'm not Gryffindor." Tora said firmly. If he couldn't get where she was from now, she wouldn't know what to do. After all it wasn't like he hadn't examined her from head to foot trying to discern her house.

Did she really look like a Gryffindor? Those stuck up idiots were only brave to be brave. They had no drive behind themselves. Tora most certainly was not like that. Or so she hoped. The Sorting Hat had said that she would do well in Gryffindor.... but even if she was in Gryffindor, all her bravery would have a purpose. She would be the rare purposeful lion rather than a showoff.

You're more often hurt by hesitating than by what you were hesitating to do. If she admitted it to herself, her motto was a little Gryffindor-y. But no. She was Ravenclaw. Her curiosity and creativity proved it.

Even if she happened to have a certain disregard for safety or any rules put in place to satisfy it.

Smiling, he nodded. "I do," he said. "A lot, actually. I really love them." he told her. "Even though they can get really annoying." he added in his head to himself. Oh, she had an older sister. Dylan had always wondered what it'd be like to have an older sibling...probably nice. "That's cool, what's it like having an older sibling?" he asked after a while on pondering whether to ask that question or not. Eh, why not? He was curious after all.

The eleven year old smiled brightly as he strummed and she sang. Her voice was truly beautiful, probably the best voice he'd ever heard. Dylan had a good feeling she'd go far with the singing career thing she wanted to do. He made a mental note in his head to tell her how great she was when they finished here.

"Ohh! I see." he said. Then he chuckled at what she said and he nodded. "No worries, I love learning so I don't think there'll be any problem there." he smiled. Yeah, Dylan loved learning and working on things. He was a pretty smart and determined person. Most people found it odd but eh, who cared what anyone thought. If Dylan liked it then, he liked it. He then raised an eyebrow when she mentioned a lost and found board. Well, that was a smart idea. But Hogwarts was bound to have one of those, seeing that it was such a large school and things were going to go missing at some point. "That's good. Thanks for all the advice, by the way. I really appreciate it." he told her, beaming at her.

"Is anyone sitting here?" The scrawny, dirty looking little boy entered the compartment where Charlie and Red were sitting, but he seemed not to be asking so much as stating that he'd be coming in.

"Hi, Charlie!" He said, carrying a large bag with him and plopping down right next to the hefty boy who he'd met in Diagon Alley, and pretty much the only kid who didn't outright annoy Cutty.

Cutty noticed the little girl also in the compartment with them and he gave her a rather judgmental look, unsure of whether or not to greet her before he finally said, "Hullo."

Asher nodded, excited about the quidditch talk. He could spend hours and hours chatting about brooms, plays, teams, anything quidditch related. "Yes, it's so wonderful. Maybe we can play a little together this year. Just for fun." He noticed that Anna seemed a bit sad. Her summer being a nanny didn't sound like much fun at all.

"I'm sorry your family isn't very supportive. But, you know what? You are headed for Hogwarts now. You can be celebrated there." He gave her a little smile. "OH, I think a secret society would be awesome! I've never been in one. What do you think, Adi?"

Adi nodded understandingly. He knew what it was like having to be careful around Muggles. "Everyone from my dad's side are Muggles and mom's a muggle born.'' So he was around muggles all the time. "But Muggles aren't that bad. Just that the lack of magical abilities is off putting.''

"Yes! I can't wait to cross the Lake! And the Sorting! I can't wait to see which House I'm sorted into. Mom was a Gryffindor but I suppose any House will be okay for me.'' But he liked the Hufflepuff students he had met so far. They were all so friendly. "So Asher, are you on the Quidditch team?''

Professor Lafay? "Is that one of our Professors at Hogwarts?'' Adi asked Anna curiously. He had had the pleasure of meeting one of their Professors on the train a few moments ago, the very cool Professor Dursley aka the History of Magic Professor. "What's she like? And what does she teach?''

He frowned at the way Anna talked about her family. He wanted to ask her about it but at the same time he didn't want to intrude on her privacy. Adi blinked when he heard what she said next. "Why don't they think you're good enough?'' he asked curiously. What kind of family would think like that about their child?

He could tell her confusion and gave a small laugh, "Basically myself and three of my friends were the only wizards that were at that camp." He nodded, "It was just a regular camp. Rock climbing, hiking, swimming… Just normal stuff.” He smiled hoping that helped her understand a little better. He was pureblooded to, he was just raised in poor conditions, so He was used to being around muggles and not being allowed to use magic so it was just easier for him then some who had been raised around magic their entire lives. He nodded to what she said and shrugged, "I honestly prefer to just heal… I know it sounds strange to most but I’ve been raised this way… It’s easier for me… Plus the accident was my own stupidity, so I feel I can at least deal with the pain it caused."

Brodie gave a nod, "I’ve never really liked talking to new people… And seeing how some people here already didn’t like the idea of me because of a past mistake Taylor had told them, I didn’t really think I’d be welcomed." No… Brodie had kinda proven he wasn’t anti-social hadn’t he? He’d been holding this conversation with her fine and wasn’t rude or snippy… He may have seemed a little odd for the things he does, but the seventh year always had no problem talking to new people unless he didn’t want to get to know them.

He gave a nod to what she said though, he did have a hard time talking to people last year. Every time he tried it seemed to not work very well, "No one cared to really talk to me here anyways… Someone like you… you seem so kind… Most hate me for my brutal honesty… but if you ask me my idea I’m going to tell you the truth." Also kinda true that if he knew you well enough he would try to make it seem a little nicer. Brodie wasn’t a total jerk… unless someone deserved it. He nodded slightly, "I can always hope." He smiled, his first actual genuine smile in quite a while. Maybe this year wouldn’t be as bad as he was thinking it would be. Not if everyone else was as nice as this sixth year… Maybe he just needed to be around the ones that were younger than him. He’d met both Claudette and Alec today and they both seemed nice, and both of them were sixth years. He’d also met Minerva and she was totally rude to him… He mentally shrugged, oh well, maybe it was just her.Claudette eyed Brodie curiously, nodding a bit as he further explained this camp thing. She wasn't sure why exactly wizards wanted to be at a Muggle camp, but she had to admit that some of the things he spoke of sounded like they could be fun. "I've never been rock climbing, but I've been skiing before.." she began, brightening a bit. "Some friends of my aunt and uncle own a Swiss Chalet. We often go during winter holiday. Have you ever been?" That was a favorite pastime of hers and she had gotten quite good at it. She squinted a bit again as he further tried to explain his reasons for using the Muggle remedy for his injuries. No.. she still didn't understand and figured she never would. Just didn't make sense to her. "Well, it does sound strange to me.." she said admittedly with a shrug. And, easier? No.. "Because honestly.. with magic you would have full use so much faster.." she trailed off, wondering why he would want to prolong the process. But trying to figure it out was making her head hurt and she was pretty much done giving it any other thought, so she added with a faint smile, "To each their own, I guess.."

Claudette nodded lightly as he continued, not really understanding the 'not liking to talk to new people' beyond shyness she supposed and, probably mostly because that wasn't the type of person she was, didn't feel a whole lot of need to say much more on the topic than she had already. Though one part sort of struck her. "Past mistake?" She threw that question out there lightly as if to give Brodie the option or not to further expand on that subject, figuring it sounded to be a relationship thing and might not necessarily be her business. Taylor sounded as if she might be the ex he was originally referring to.. though from his wording, he seemed to care a little too much about what people thought. "You shouldn't be so quick to assume that people aren't going to like you," she said with a casual air. "Let people get to know you so they can make their minds up for themselves." She gave him a small but friendly smile. She didn't even know this Taylor person, how would she have been influenced by another's words anyway?

Hmm. It was Claudette's opinion that Brodie might be the type to take things too personally. At least that was how she read him going by his words. But he seemed like a decent enough boy and she certainly didn't have any grief with him.. and oh! Compliments were always well received. "Well, thank you," she said, smiling brightly as he mentioned her kindness. She did try to be nice, even if she could be a bit blunt at times. "You seem very nice yourself.. and somewhat interesting." Sure, she didn't understand some of what he was saying or the reasoning behind it, but at least it hadn't been an entirely boring conversation. "Oh.. are you so sure people actually hate you? Such a strong word.." Dislike, possibly.. not that the French girl had any real quarrel with him, but no one liked everybody - there was always going to be someone who didn't like you. "And I certainly can appreciate honesty.. especially if it's handled tactfully.." She did feel she often had a way with words.. usually a way to be honest without being mean about it..

Her leg started bouncing, which usually was a sign that she was uncomfortable. She fiddled with the sleeves of her Star Wars tee.

"Yes! We're going to Hogwarts and its so wonderful!!" Annabeth replied looking at Asher. Then Adi asked her about professor Lafay.
"Professor Lafay?" She grinned. "Professor Lafay teaches Potions at Hogwarts. She is a good teacher and a good person... " Anna frowned and added "although you won't see her wondering around the corridors shaking hands, distributing smiles, showing off sympathy. She's a reserved person, who doesn't like to be bothered for any reason... She's always kind to me. What do you think about her, Asher?"

The girl wasn't happy about talking about her parents, she lowered her head and told, staring at her nervous hands."I'm not good enough for my family because they aren't good people... And they didn't like me since I'm a witch who refuses to mistreat people and I will never let them use my power to decieve people taking their money. My family is a nightmare." She nodded. She wanted to change the subject, but there was nothing in her mind. Then she looked at the Quidditch magazine and said:

"Let's talk about Quidditch... I'm thinking about play Quidditch for our house, Asher... I know I don't have any experience, but something inside me is saying that I should try... I'm good with Muggles sports." She sighed.

"Adi, what does your mum tell about her school years?" She bent towards Adi curious to know what he would respond.

"Thanks, Charlie, I will use them, so keep coming up with them!" she rarely came up with good ideas, she was inspired by other things, other people.

When Charlie said he had had an imaginary friend, Red was almost overjoyed, she had never met anybody else who had had an imaginary friend, but he had Fred now, and he really was kind of cute. "Aah, his eyes go so big when you do that!" Red said and smiled, she wished she could find so much joy in such a small thing.

"Am I a muggle?! she said jokingly, "Well if I was, I wouldn't be here. My father is a wizard from a long line of pure bloods, he hates muggles but refuses to have anything to do with wizards, so he married my mother." Yep, that was completely true, her father hated her mother, and herself, thinking she was an abomination, being half blood.

Red grinned, if Charlie wouldn't tell... "Well, I suppose so, if he won't find out..." and so she reached out and took one of the sweets, "Here goes! One, two, three!" and she popped the sweet in her mouth, sure enough, just as Charlie said, she hovered off her seat! "Wow, Charlie, that's really cool, oh my! That tastes really good!" it was her first sweet ever, and she liked it. It was sweet, but pleasantly sweet. "Thanks, Charlie!"

Red looked up and saw a boy enter the compartment, he obviously knew Charlie, and then Red recognised him, he was in Madame Malkins at the same time as her and Charlie.

She smiled as he greeted her, "He-hello," she stuttered, she hated not being able to talk to boys she didn't know.

Claudette eyed Brodie curiously, nodding a bit as he further explained this camp thing.

Brodie gave a small look of surprise, "Really? It’s a lot of fun." He shook his head to her question though, "I’ve never had the money to go skiing. Though I wouldn’t mind trying it." He admitted. It did sound fun to him. He loved the snow and running around with Vikki and Vince back in the woods at home. It did look slightly unsafe at first, but heh, nothing seemed unsafe after his little stunt that had landed him with these injuries and so many more. He was lucky to be alive, so he did want to live every bit of his life to the fullest extent he could manage. He silently chuckled at her confused look still over him choosing to heal without magic. Well, he could take one more crack at trying to explain it, "There’s a lot of reasons honestly why I prefer just to heal with time. It’s true that magic would heal me quicker, but then every time I get in an accident I’d rely on magic to fix it… And I’ll admit it’s hurt like hell, but the past two months made me stronger by letting my body heal naturally, and knowing that without magic’s help I survived when I only had a fifteen percent chance of living without it." Maybe that would explain it a little better? He felt stronger without the magic; that kinda made sense didn’t it? It did to him, but he’d been shown it didn’t make sense to everyone else.

"I…" Brodie ran a hand through his hair and sighed, trying to think how to say it without sounding totally horrible, but unfortunately there wasn’t a way he could think to do that… So, just rip the Band-Aid off, "When Taylor and I started to date for the first time… I only wanted to be with her for her money… But it’s not like that now… It hasn’t been for over a year and a half." Yeah, like he figured, it just sounded totally rude, not a nice guy at all… but he’d changed, that had to show. He truly did care about Taylor now, it was just she didn’t care about him anymore… He looked at her as she continued and gave a small nod, he could see where she was coming from with it all, he just didn’t know. He was always worried about the possibility of seeming rude or something, he didn’t need any more enemies… Okay, he only had one, but he still didn’t need more of them, "Well, most the people I attempted to talk to were people she knew… And she had shared that little bit of information with them before I had a chance to meet them and they wanted nothing to do with me." So yeah… Admittedly that kinda led to him thinking everyone knew and would hate him.

Brodie looked at her, clear shock showing on his face at that. He seemed nice to someone? That was just really… He didn’t even know how to word it. Of course he was happy to have her say he was nice, it was nothing to do with that… It was just that no one else had ever told him he was a nice guy before. Some people it could be understood but… He just never got that as a compliment before, "Thank you." He smiled again. This felt so odd to him, he hadn’t smiled in over three months… Well he had, but it wasn’t a genuine smile like the one he had right now. He chuckled slightly though, "Interesting as in crazy I’m sure… Not many out there think the things I do are normal." At least not in the wizarding world, especially his preference to the muggle way. He paused, thinking about what she asked, then shrugged, "In all honestly no, I’m not sure… But it just seems that there’s a major dislike of me." So there was a small shrug with that. She appreciated honesty? Well, probably not his, "I’m normally rather blunt to be honest." He hoped she didn’t see that as a bad thing… He just didn’t normally care to sugar coat things unless he knew it was really going to hurt them.

The long train ride to Hogwarts was long. Yeah, see with all of the magic that they had and stuff, he wasn't exactly sure why they had to labour through the tediousness of the ride. S'annoying and he could only have his game on so many hours of the day. Being stuck in a small place forced him to be social with everyone when he really didn't even wanna interact with anyone. 'Cept pretty girls. Smirk.

They could always stick around.

Regardless, he was now wandering the corridors of the train and looking for a compartment to relax in. For reasons. He needed to find his inner zen, which was impossible when a ton of people were talking at him.

So he settled in a lone compartment and kicked his feet up on seat.

Zen.

While she happened to be roaming around, acting all senior and BAMF, she just happened to see the Ascanius dude. Sweet. Someone to bother. Only slightly though because how tragic would it be to have someone not enjoy her company? Well, we all know the answer to that particular question. She didn't knock or anything - he looked a little zoned out so she didn't want to give him a fright. Or at least, not without a third or fourth person as an audience to laugh with her. The fifth year slipped into the compartment and slid the door back across gently, flinching, only slightly, when it gave a loud thump as it shut anyway.

"Hey 'Scanius." Griiiin.

Blue took the seat in bench across from him and picked at her chipped nail polish, looking for something to keep herself idle.

Oh hey, a person...a female person. Smirk. AND a female person who he was well aquatinted with; a person who just happened to be Blue. Yeah, they never really spoke much, but he enjoyed her company. She had a quick wit about her that amused him. As well as a face that made it more entertaining. Nice hair too.

Anyway, he kept his feet up on the seat and smirked at her. His attractive face was paying her attention, "Sup, gorgeous?" What was she doing in his zen compartment? And it was REALLY zen right about now because he was all nice and calm.

Her summer lightened hair had fall forward, leaving it draped across most of her face. The strands of it bounced and swayed with the rocking of the car like a feathery pendulum. Several minutes passed and she had begun to dream. Images of birds in flight, dragons, and rushing leaves filled the fourteen year old's mind.

Suddenly though, her head slumped from her hands and she jolted upright. When her eyes adjusted and she remembered where she was, she noticed someone had joined the car with her, and they had spoken. Or she thought they had anyway.

She pushed a pale hand against her face to move her hair and hopefully inconspicuously check for eye sleep from her unintentional nap. She swallowed once to moisten her throat that had gone dry during the ride. She'd need to get a drink at some point, but she thought maybe she could wait until the feast. Putting a small smile on her face, she finally spoke. "Oh, no, you're fine! It's all right," she said with a yawn. "I hadn't meant to fall asleep anyway." She sat over in the seat more, to make the girl feel welcomed. "I'm Eliza," she stated casually. And because she wasn't sure if she'd seen the girl before, though she thought not, she carried on. "What year are you....um...?" She hoped the girl would tell her what her name was without Eliza having to feel much more awkward about it. She pursed her lips and played with her fingernails as she waited to hear more.

-Smiling, he nodded.

That was sweet. He loved his siblings even though they were "annoying". "Well, that's family for you," she said with a laugh. She couldn't remember a time when she found any of her family members annoying though but she was told it was a normal thing to get annoyed at siblings. She never got annoyed with Abby though. "Ah... Abby's nice. I think it's nice to have an older sibling... because even though she's not always here by my side, I think she's still kinda looking out for me." Melanie hadn't really thought about it before but Abby really was one of the best people she knew. Because Abby wouldn't just randomly pick up and leave... not without saying something first.

"Maybe sometimes... we've got it wrong but it's alright," she continued, grinning. Really, singing made her feel so happy. It made her feel like her insides were about to burst with fireworks in all sorts of colors. Smiling, still, the Gryffindor stopped singing. Because the song was over. And she was a bit tired from that. Water please. Right, that would be in her bag.

It was a good thing he liked learning. More people needed to get into that. Oh, maybe that was a sign that he was a Ravenclaw if he liked learning. That was a possibility, wasn't it? "I have a feeling the classes will all be really interesting," she said with a nod of her head. They usually were.

She gave the younger boy a warm smile. "Have to watch out for the incoming firsties. I don't want any of you getting hurt or have anything bad happen to you guys," she said with a laugh, leaning over in her seat and ruffling Dylan's hair. Plus, it was a nice thing to do, wasn't it?
