The Hogsmeade version of its Diagon Alley counterpart is one of the oldest but best-kept buildings in the village, likely because it sees the most consistent business. Students and villagers alike have utilized the post office and its hundreds of owls for centuries.

The shop, which is small but humming with the noise of friendly birds, houses at least two to three hundred owls, ranging from Great Grey Owls to tiny Scops Owls, the latter of which are for "local deliveries only." The owls sit on colour-coded shelves based on how quickly they will arrive at their destination, with the quickest owls costing the most.

Take your time selecting your owl carefully, as the others tend to get... jealous when they are looked over. Don't worry, though, the Hogsmeade shopkeeper, Ozzy Knickerbocker, is well-trained in treating owl nips and scratches.

OOC: You must RP in this thread and fill out this questionnaire (http://www.snitchseeker.com/quiz.php?formid=52) if you wish to send an owl post via the Hogsmeade Owls.

Sarah didn't think that she would go to Hogsmede for this weekend, with her spending money being depleted, yet she wanted to send her report to the headmistress. She could have handed it in, yet the wait would be too long, and she knew that the headmistress would not take it so well.. Better to send it by owl. Better yet to send it by a Post office owl as that way there would be no way the headmistress could claim that she did not recieve it (as if Sarah did not trust Angelina). So if spending a bit of money for this owl post would mean the end to the turnstiles and the Arithmancy professor messing with her education, then Sarah would do that. It was good to make Sacrifices.

She walked into the store, her letter containing the report in her hand. "Hello. I would like to send a letter to the headmistress of Hogwarts... the cheapest way". She knew that that would not be so speedy, yet she wanted to visit the library that week.

Oswald had gotten himself lost amongst the owls in search of his favorite when he heard the door swing open. Or rather heard the owls respond to the door swinging open multiple times. He hollered out Barney's name over the persistent hooting a few more times before succumbing to defeat and sauntering over to the counter.

Hummmm. Did he hear right? "Hogwarts?" The school right up the path? Ozzy looked at her quizzically, shifted his gaze over to the boy behind her, then back to the girl. He rested his arms on the counter and leeeeeeeaned forward.

"You do realize it'd be much cheaper to just walk the letter over to the Headmistress?" Ozzy wasn't trying to get out of work, but he didn't feel right taking coins from a girl for a delivery that... well he could do himself in a day's time.

Sarah whirled around. "Yeah" she smiled, "My name is Sarah Edwards.. I am a fifth year Gryffindor. What is you name?" She was pretty straightforward. She did not ask the school, as once he gave his name, most times she would be able to tell where he came from.

Back to the postkeeper:

"Yes" Sarah said sticking to her guns. Who cared what others thought. What? He wanted to save her money? Her faith in humanity restored Sarah said, "thank you for your concern. The money is just a sacrifice I have to make to make sure the headmistress receives the letter, and you are all my witnesses." She was still having trust issues with her heasmistress. "I worked hard on the letter, so I don't want it all to be for nothing" She felt bad, as if she was badmouthing her school. She was loyal to the school, and would be loyal to the headmistress if it were not a blind loyalty required. One had to deserve Sarah's respect and loyalty

Ozzy still didn't quite see why it was so important to spend the money to send the letter, but he wouldn't argue further. The girl seemed determined and it was her money and her letter after all. She could do what she liked with it. So he shrugged. "Alright. That'll be 16 knuts then."
