CoMC Class #2 - Abraxans

The classroom is empty, but the door that leads to outside is wide open, meaning for you to go out and make yourself comfortable. A large pen is open, and a pair of huge horses with wings are strutting about. Professor Maline is casually sending sparks into the air with her wand, to keep the Abraxans in the pen, and as a warning to behave.

There are benches and bean bags scattered about for you to sit down on, and Professor Maline greets you with a smile.

Savannah entered the Care of creatures class room, her second favorite class after History of magic.
Quickly noticing the classroom itself was empty, Vanna wondered over to the door that led to outside, before slowly looking around as came out. "Hello Professor, how are you?" She asked with a friendly smile, spotting the Professor.
Savannah set her messanger bag to the side after sitting down in one of the many beanbag chairs, her ocean blue eyes kept traveling over towards the winged horses curiously, the smile never leaving her face.

Ariana walked into the care of magical creatures class, her alltime favorite class and found the door leading outside open. Yawning as she didn't see anyone inside she walked outside and her eyes went wide with happiness as she saw the Abraxans. "Ohhh, they're beautiful professor!" she said in awe as she walked up to a beanbag and sat down, gazing at the unique horses. "Hello professor." she said with a tired smile as she took out her notebook, quill and ink.

Ray entered the classroom, he was waiting one of his friends to show up, there she was, Savannah entered the classroom as he entered he decided to sit next to her, as he entered "I found something about you know what, I will meet you in the house common room" and he smiled at the professor as he said "Hi" with a smile.

Kennedy entered the CoMC classroom to find it empty. She proceeded thru the open door and walked outside to find two beautiful winged horses in a pen. SHe greeted Professor Maline and then took a seat in a squishy pink bean bag. She took a quill, parchment, and her textbook out of her bag and tried to find a comfortable position to take notes from.

Savannah pulled her notebook and self-inking quill out of her bag. looking up, gave a small wave hello to Ariana and brushed her bangs away from her eyes. Setting her things on her lap.
"I already know probably, we'll talk later though." She whisped back with a small smile, trying to make sure Ray knew she wasn't trying to be rude, but didn't want to risk losing Hufflepuff any house points by talking in class. The young hufflepuff then turned her attention back to the professor, instead of one of her friends, or the pretty horses.

Ryan walked into the classroom of her very favourite class - well, maybe after DADA - and saw Ray, sitting with that girl who owned the cat called Tiger.
'Hi!' she said brightly, sitting down. She looked at Ray and grinned. 'So, Jackie wants to know whether she's a good kisser or not. Was she?'. Ryan stared at the Abraxans in awe - she adored animals.

"Hello all of you!" Ophelia chirped as she began to playfully rub the female Abraxan on her nose. "It's going to be a nice easy lesson for you all, but a difficult one for me," She grinned, sending sparks quickly with her wand as the other Male Abraxan decided that he didn't like the fence.

Savannah led her finger to her lips frantically, "Shhh, Please you two! After class, then we can go somewhere and talk. Not right now, we're going to lose house points." She whispered quickly. not liking that idea at all.

She looked to Professor Maline as she spoke, "Uhm, Professor, Do you mind me asking what we're going to do today?" She asked curiously, raising her hand although she wasn't really sure Class had even begun yet.

Ariana watched the Abraxans with glee in her eyes. She remembered her first term here, when she had walked out of Astronomy class and thought she would get a detention. Instead, she had had a chance to ride one of these creatures. She remembered the awkward feeling she had when she first rode it, the wings beating against her legs as she held on, hoping she wouldn't fall off. She hoped they'd get to ride them, she loved it. "Professor, are we going to have the chance to ride one of them today?" she asked, not really knowing why.

Pulling out her pencil she began to sketch the female Abraxan, wanting a pic of it for later. She looked up when she was finished, knowing she'd finish later and smiled happily as professor Maline began the lesson.

Katelyn scurried to where they were all sitting, and sat in the nearest bean bag chair. She dropped her bag next to her, and took out her notebook and quill. She couldnt wait for this class...she loved all animals. She wrote her name at the top of the page, the date, and the class so he was organized. She sighed, and looked to the front of the class with a smile.

Kerry smiled at Ari, leave it to her to think of riding and playing with the creatures before the lesson had actually began. But that's what she loved about Ari... she was always thinking ahead.

Kerry turned back towards the creatures. Compared to her own small stature, the Abraxans dwarfed Kerry. It was almost intimidating to watch them.

Jasmine gave Professor Maline a warm smile as she admired the Abraxons. "Oh! They are so beautiful Oph- erm...Professor Maline." Jasmine remembered just in time that would not be proper to address Ophelia as anything but Professor when a class was in session.

Jackie walked through the classroom and outside, where some students were sitting around a paddock containing the lesson's creatures. Her mouth hung open slightly as she stared at the winged horses in awe, then she sat down on a beanbag next to Ryan.

Ari smiled back at Kerry, stiffling a yawn as she did so. She was not going to fall asleep, she loved this class too much for that. Shaking her head to clear it, she turned back to professor Maline and waited, knowing she would do well in the class.

Savannah led her finger to her lips frantically, "Shhh, Please you two! After class, then we can go somewhere and talk. Not right now, we're going to lose house points." She whispered quickly. not liking that idea at all.

She looked to Professor Maline as she spoke, "Uhm, Professor, Do you mind me asking what we're going to do today?" She asked curiously, raising her hand although she wasn't really sure Class had even begun yet.

Professor Maline's eyes narrowed in the direction of Savannah and a couple of others. She was confused, the class hadn't started yet, what on earth would they lose house points for? As long as they didn't have some kind of make out session in front of the Abraxans...that would be mentally scarring. She grinned to herself, shaking blonde locks about as she caught Savannah's question.

"You're going to be learning how to look after these. Abraxans are incredibly important in the Wizarding world, and if any of you grow up and become famous, you may find yourselves with some of these. You've got to learn to treat them right if you want their respect. We'll cover the basics first though." She answered as the Male Abraxan, who had got bored with the fence decided to see if he could eat the collar of Ophelia's coat.

Ooc: This class is going to be more lengthy RPing of Tasks you will be set instead of questions. I'll be giving points on how well you RP the tasks, and not the questions.

Katelyn looked up and listened as the professor spoke, and put her quill on her lap until she needed. She tied her hair back in a pony so it wouldnt bother her during this class. She looked around, and saw no one she knew except that girl Savannah, but Katelyn didnt want to go randomly sit by her. She didnt really know her that well. She curled up in the soft chair, and folded her arms, glancing around the class every once in a while.

Ryan smiled at Jackie.
'Hey, Jackie. Aren't the Abraxans gorgeous?' she asked, before realising that teal probably wasn't the right colour to wear her hair, so she shook it back and it became a soft, light brown that fell down to mid-back. She tied it back in a ponytail, waiting.

She grinned brightly at Ariana, "Oooooh Maybe, we'll see if i deem you all sensible and ready too. It also depends on these i have to say."

Kerry smirked at Professor Maline when the comment was made about being sensible. She imagined students trying to climb onto the backs of these giant creatures and then freaking out once the Abraxan's took flight. The site in her head was very amusing, yet not a very pretty one. Kerry shook her head, still smirking...trying to get the silly image out of her head - as she tried to focus on the lesson that was just about to begin.

Heather took in what the proffesor said and then calmed down a bit.She was certain everything would work out okay.

It took till now for Savannah to notice Professor Maline didn't seem to mind the chatting too much, but she had gotten use to either hearring about people losing points for talking in class, or seeing it. then again those usually were the class were you had to pay pacific attention in, or else you'd have no clue what was going on..
Relaxing quite abit, Vanna beamed, excited that they were going to learn how to take care of the Abraxans. She nodded slightly to what the professor said, and supressed a small giggle when one of the Abraxans started chewing on Professor Maline's coat collar.

Savannah looked to the horses, sideways slightly. The young hufflepuff was definitally not going to even attempt riding either, even if she was told she could. Nope, no heights what so ever for her.

Turning to look around the room abit, at her fellow classmates, She spotted the ravenclaw girl she had met yesterday, Katelyn, and waved a small hello with a smile.

Ryan smiled around excitedly. Her eyes turned brighter without her noticing, from amber to a sort of blue-green colour.
'Come on then, Ray!' she muttered. 'How good was Jackie? On a scale of one to ten?'. She was really teasing him now, but that was just her playful nature.

The Female Abraxan was getting restless, and Ophelia sighed, roughly nudging her forward. "Go on then girl, show off!" She excalimed as the Abraxan began to gallop off and launch itself into the air. "Right then class, can any one estimate the wing span of that girl up there?" She asked, gesturing to the creature who was quite happily zooming about.

Katelyn waved at Savannah, and looked at the Abraxan. It was very beautiful. Very, beautiful. She smiled, and opened her notebook, so she could describe the creature in her own words. She didnt know the answer to the professor's question, she didnt raise her hand.

Jasmine watched the winged horse soar through the air and took a guess, "Around 30 feet or so?"

Ryan raised her hand slowly. She was purely guessing here - she truly had no idea, except for the fact that it was enormous.
'Thirty feet?' she suggested, shrugging and smiling at the same time, shifting her gaze back up at the Abraxan.

Ariana nodded in responce to professor MAline, feeling her spirits rise a bit. She didn't want to do too much work today, in fact she honestly didn't want to do any, but relax in her oak tree and sleep. Or talk to Kerry, who she hadn't seen in a few days.

Looking around, she noticed a few students looked unnerved at the suggestion of flying the winged horses. It looked like Ari was the only one who had ever rode one, the wind rushign through her hair as she laughed happily. Those were great times back then, back when she had friends who spoke to her, before was ignored for no reason, Sighing slightly, she felt sad that she had no one to talk too, but she shook off the feeling and looked up, a smile on her face.

She put her head up when professor Maline sked a uestion about the size of the female Abraxan wings. She looked at the creature for a moment, sizing it up. Raising her hand she took a shot, "About 10-25 feet?" she guessed. She had a feeling it was shorter than that, she was awful with guessing lengths of things.

Kerry just sat in awe of the giant creature's wingspan, it seemed 50 feet long, but she was sure it wasn't really that long, it was just that everything seemed larger to her in real life than they really were.

She raised her hand, "I would say at least 25 feet, I don't know...maybe a bit more."

"About 20 or 30 feets" Ray answered.

Professor Maline nodded with a smile across her face as she watched the Abraxan come into land, "Yes you're all about right, although the females are slightly smaller than the males. The girls wingspan in about 30-35 feet, and the boys are 45-50 feet to get them in the air the wings have to be big."

Holding her wand out, she summoned several bottles of single-malt whiskey. "Ryan, Jasmine you two have just volunteered yourselves come up here." She grinned, holding the bottles out as the two Abraxans had just found Ariana really rather interesting as she struggled to stay awake.

Katelyn wrote down the answers in her neat handwiriting, and looked up as Professor Maline called on two persons to help her out with something. Katelyn grinned, and wondered what they would have to do. She was glad she wasnt called on.

Ryan smiled - she wasn't nervous of whatever she was meant to do. These were animals - beautiful, wonderful animals - and Ryan adored them.
She got up and walked over to Professor Maline.

Jasmine's eyes lit up and she immediately approached the professor and gave her a sassy salute, "Reporting for duty, ma'am!" she said as she took the offered whiskey and made to drink it teasingly."Oh how nice! No onetold me there would be refreshments!"

Ariana looked up and smiled as the two Abraxans started to find her interesting. She gazed at the two winged creatures, eyes full of wonder and glee, but also tiredness. She hoped she wouldn't get into trouble for not being her full fun loving self.

Her attention made its way towards Ryan and Jasmine who walked up to whre Maline was standing, holding bottles of Whiskey. She wrote some stuff down in her notebook, knowing this was going to be important. She didn't want to miss anything and gave them her full attention.

She laughed as Jasmine gave her a salute and curtsied in reply, "Well m'lady," She began, "Drink that for real and you're going down," She grinned but her eyes told Jasmine that she was completely serious. She tied the two Abraxans to a post and conjured up a podium for Jasmine and Ryan to stand on.

"Right then, Abraxans like to drink single-malt whiskey, it's like our water to them; but if an Abraxan were to drink water they would think they were drinking something alcoholic. So Jasmine and Ryan are going to show the rest of you, how to give an Abraxan a drink safely. Considering that Abraxans are so large unless you have a trough the size of a swimming pool you're not going to be able to give them a drink properly without them getting stuck. So Jas, Ryan, up on the podium either side of the Abraxan if you please." She said, gesturing to the female who was studying the class curiously.

Cora sat at the front of the class, making notes and listening carefully to what Professor Maline said. She laughed at Jasmine's comment and then put down her quill and watched in interest at what would happen next.

Katelyn thought that was rather funny, so she smiled as she wrote down some more notes. She looekd back up at the front of the class, still smiling. This was a pretty cool lesson so far, and she liked it. She folded her arms which were wrapped around her notebook, and stuck the quill behind her ear so she wouldnt lose it.

Ryan stepped up on the podium, looking at the Abraxans interestedly. She then looked back at Professor Maline, waiting for the next instructions.

Jasmine smiled and gave her a wink, "No worries Professr Maline, I have recently sworn off whiskey."

She then took on a serious expression and listened to the professor carefully. She held the bottles carefully as the professor explained what was to happen.

Nodding her head, she approached the Abraxan slowly, humming softly under her breath as she did so. Stepping up on one of the podiums, she admired the giant, winged Palamino and waited patiently for the rest of Professor Maline's instructions.

Cora leant forward slightly in her chair and admired the Abraxens, grinning jealously up at Jas. She beamed at Professor Maline and made a mental note to thank her for an amazing lesson at the end.

Ariana watched as Jasmine and Ryan both walked up to the Abraxan and waited to see how to feed them. She began writing little notes to herself in her notebook not wanting to miss a thing. She stiffled another yawn with hre hand, pretending to cough slightly.

"Ryan, can you place your hands gently, just under the jaw, right back by the neck and press firmly with your fingers. If you do it right she should tip her neck right back and open her mouth a bit." She instructed Ryan with a smile as she rubbed the Abraxan soothingly so it didn't decide to kick out.

While Ryan did that, she opened a couple of bottles for Jasmine and turned to the rest of the class. "Abraxans are thought to have got their name from 'Abraxus' one of the winged horses that pulled the chariot of Helios the muggles ancient Greek God Helios, God of the Sun. However...we all know muggles get thier myths and legends from our animals, but it is truly unknown who named these creatures."

She turned back to Jasmine, and smiled, "Right now very gently, place the top of the bottle just before the teeth, so if she decides to bite she'll get no glass in her mouth. That is important class!" She said sternly, then said to Jasmine again, "Tip it up slowly, she should start swallowing, Ryan, keep your hands there."

Katelyn, in between glancing up at the front of the class, would write down everything Professor Maline just said, including her own little notes. She smiled, and put her quill back behind her ear, and let her eyes wonder over the class before settling them at the front of the class, to watch the happenings. She was really curious to see what would happen.

Ryan obeyed, smiling.
'This is amazing,' she whispered, soft pink streaks appearing in her hair without her realising it. She had never been so close to an animal this wonderful before, let alone this big.

Cora scribbled down the part about making sure the Abraxen didn't get glass in her mouth and then watched, eagerly. Her blue eyes widened in delight and she let out a soft sigh.

"They're beautiful." She whispered.

Ariana watched, her quill scribbling furiously on her notebook, not missing a single word of the speech. She looked carefully at how Ryans hands were placed, and how the Abraxan seemed to respond well to her touch. She jotted down a note to herself and looked back up, her bronze eyes squinting in the sunlight as she watched Jasmine slwowly tip the bottle into the first Abraxans mouth.

Nodding to herself, she continued writing things down. She had to know this stuff if she wanted her own refuge when she was older, taking care of creatures like this.When she was finished making her notes, she looked over at professor Maline with rampt attention, waiting for more.

Jasmine listened intently to what the professor was saying and watched as Ryan did as she was told and the Abraxan moved it's neck back and opened it's mouth.

She smiled at Ryan and whispered,"Yes it is amazing isn't it?"

Taking the opened bottles of single-malt whiskey from the professor, Jasmine carefully placed the first bottle just in front of the teeth where if the Abraxan bit down it wouldn't break it. Tilting it up slowly she watched in satisfaction as the the enchanting creature began to swallow the beverage happily.

Emily watched in awe from her bench as Jasmine and Ryan performed their tasks. She didn't think she'd have the guts to get so close to such a large creature, even such beautiful ones.

"Abraxans can get through up to 20 bottles of whiskey in one sitting, so you need a lot of money to be able to own one of these and feed them properly. Abraxans are like horses as you may well have guessed and their diet consists of grasses, vegtables and fruits. Only you would need a bath tub sized amount of food to feed them properly, both lunch and dinner," She explained to the class.

"Jasmine, Ryan, if you can switch round so that you each get a turn at feeding her." She said to the pair feeding the Abraxan.

Katelyn took her quill form behind her ear, and opened her notebook again. She wrote down even more notes, and added some of her own. She smiled, and stuck the quill behind her ear once again. She glanced up at the beautiful creatures, a smile spread across her pretty face, and she chuckled softly. She really liked this class, and she knew now why Dan liked it too.

Ryan nodded slowly, smiling anxiously. Okay...now she felt nervous. There was so much to remember, so much to do and so much not to do... plus the fact that she was unbearably clumsy, what if she tripped and hurt the Abraxan? The ends of her hair curled slightly, and began to cycle through dull rainbow colours, a sign that she was nervous and confused by all she had to remember.

Jasmine nodded and smiled as she let the Abraxan finish the bottle. She then set the empty bottles down and slowly felt along the Abraxan's silky coat until she reached the spot on the neck just behind the jaw. Pressing firmly yet gently, she smiled as the Abraxan immediately tilted it's head back and opened it's mouth for the next bottle of whiskey.

As she listened to the professor she wondered about something and asked softly so as not to disturb the giant horse. "Professor Maline, why is it that the Abraxan is more desired than the other winged horses like the Aethonians,Granians, and even Thestrals? I would love to have a Thesrtal, they are so fast!"

Ariana wrote in her notebook Abraxans like grasses and vegtables and drrink more than I can afford. She was listening carefully as she watched the two students switch places, smiling slightly as Ryan looked a bit nervous. Throwing a smile at the young girl she bent down and continued writing, adding her own notes to the mix as she remembered stuff from her last encounter with one of the beautiful creatures.

Ari's head popped up as Jasmine asked a question about Abraxans. Listening carefully, she didn't want to miss a thing.

Ryan bit the sleeve of her jumper, hesitating nervously. Her hands shook, and the colours in her hair were growing a tad brighter now. She tried to hide them, but she couldn't.

Jackie was beaming up at the Abraxans, watching Ryan feed one of them. She smiled reassuringly at Ryan, knowing how clumsy she could be when she was nervous. Jackie layed down her ntoes and raised her hand timidly.
"Um... Professor Maline? Are there Abraxans at Beauxbatons? My friend who goes there told me there were strange horses living on the grounds..."

Ophelia was about to show the class the next thing to do when it came to Abraxans when Jasmine asked her something. She smiled, tilted her head to the side as she thought and wandered over to go and get the male Abraxan as she continued to put her answer together.

"Threstrals have the death connotation, with their skelatal beings, and the fact they remain invisible to those who have not seen death they are not that wanted. Regardless, they do have an eathreal beauty to those who understand them. People also think that Threstrals are related to dementors with the death thing, and like a dementor, they are skelatal. That isn't true at all. Threstrals are also fairly dangerous, and you need to treat them right.

An Aethonon with the Granians are not as strong or as large as the Abraxan. They are equally as beautiful as the Abraxan, but from the middle ages, the Wizarding lower used Aethonons and Granians to travel and do farm work. They both still have a lower class connotation that people do not want to be associated with. However, they are missing out because both of the Granians and Aethonon are just as powerful as the Abraxan, yet smaller.

Abraxans are much more appealing as you are more likely to find white ones than the greys, browns and blacks of the others. White has much more positive connotations, that people would like to see. They are a status symbol and are generally much more desirable." She explained to the class as she lead the other Abraxan to the fence and ran her hand back over it's flanks to it's back hoof so the class could see her next action.

Cora watched Ryan grow more and more nervous, and realised with a jolt that she was no longer the only metamorphmagus in Hogwarts. This was a slight blow, and the ends of her hair turned firey red, before returning to its usual, vibrant pink.

She sighed, and continued to jot down notes.

Jasmine listened to the professor's answer to her question as she watched her tend to the male Abraxan. "Well I think they are all beautiful equally."

Glancing back at Ryan, she gave the nervous girl a warm encouraging smile and whispered, "No worries Ryan, you are doing just fine. Just don't forget to place the end of the bottle in front of the teeth."

Ariana nodded, following everything the professor had said, writing short form statements in her notebook. This was all fasinating and she figured she'd need this if she was to do what she wanted when she was older.

Filling three full pages of fasinating stuff in her book she closed it for a moment and went on to look at the others around her. She was happy she couldn't feel their emotions, quite frankly she'd probably go mad and start crying if she did. She noticed one girls' hair tips turn a fiery red and figured she was angry at something, what she couldn't figure out, but shook off the feeling and continued looking.

She watched as Ryan walked up to the Abraxans' mouth and started feeding it the everage, then turned her attention to Maline, who was styanding next to the other Abraxan by the fence.

Ryan was relieved as she finished, her hair fading back to normal. It was amazing - but incredibly nerve-wracking, for a clumsy idiot like herself. She listened to Professor Maline's explanation. She immediately liked the sound of the Thestrals, knowing that she would be able to see them. They sounded misunderstood. She remembered reading something in Hogwarts: A History about Thestrals.
'Professor,' she said, raising her hand. 'Are there any Thestrals at Hogwarts?'.

Dani was amazed by the class and the beauty of the creatures.

Katelyn scribbled down everything the professor said, and smiled. Threstrals were really beautiful, and it was too bad not everyon could see them. BUt then again, to see them you have to watch someone die, and Katelyn didnt think everyone would like that. She shrugged, and looked back to the front of the classroom, back into reality.

Jackie jotted down as much of what professor Maline was saying as possible, while thinking about Thestrals. She didn';t want anyone to die, but she wished she could see what they looked like just once. Loads of people had told her Thestrals were horrible, but Jackie wasn't one to judge people or animals by their appearance.

Clifford sat quietly scribbling down notes on his parchment as quickly as he could. He listened as the professor spoke about Thestrals and gave a small shudder, the creatures scared him, he hadn't told anyone that he could see them. He turned to look at the Abraxan, taking in its natural beauty.

Katelyn looked around the class, and frowned as people looked a bit frightened when she mentioned threstrals. Oh pulease, they are really pretty. And not scary at all! she thought to herself, and she faced forward again. She didnt care what people thought if she said she could see them, it didnt bother her one bit.

"Yes there are Threstrals at Hogwarts but they're extremely well trained." She answered as she skillfully picked up the males hoof. He turned his head around to look at Ophelia slightly annoyed and Ophelia looked back with a slight grin on her face, "Yes i stole your hoof, you can have it back in a moment," She laughed but it was drowned out by the Abraxan giving a disgruntled whinny.

"Ok class! You need to clean out the hooves. You don't want to aggrovate an Abraxan as being underneath these could easily kill you. So stand behind the leg, and tap behind the knee gently, and you should end up with the knee by your hip, take the hoof in your hand, wand in the other, and gently clean it out with water, and a scorigify charm." She explained and placed the hoof back.

"Well done Jasmine and Ryan, 5 points each, i would stop letting her have a drink now, i already gave her an awful lot." Ophelia said as she went over to the wing.

She ran her hand over the top of the wing, and the Abraxan stretched it out. "To clean the wing, get out your wand, and with a simple aquamenti charm aim in the direction of the hair which is away from the bone and wash down. Don't worry about drying him off, Abraxans take a quick flight and they're clean." She explained with a grin.

She then moved so she was at the wing joint and summoned a jar of cream out of her office that she had forgotten to take out with her. "This is where you get your hands dirty!" She exclaimed gleefully. Conjuring up a podium like the one she'd given Ryan and Jasmine she climbed up and made sure the class could see. "The wing joint attracts lots of dirt and can get stiff so you need this lovely bright green cream to massage into the joint - gently, and to clean it too," She explain dropping down from the podium and leaving the cream on it.

"For the rest of the Abraxan, a water charm in the direction of the hair will suffice. Now they both need to be fed, and the male needs to have a drink. They need to be cleaned all over, that is your task for today. You need to have a go at each of the activites before you can go, so make sure you leave something for the person after you to do." She grinned, trying the male up to the fence and summoning up some more podums.

Ooc - Right. You know i mentioned the mass of RPing...well here you go! I'll post up the homework in the next post. The class will now consist of your RP's and i'll still be about. Points will be rewarded for your RPing of the tasks.

Katelyn didnt really know what to do, so she closed her notebook gently, and pushed it in her bag along with her quill. She looked around to see what others were doing, but it seemed that no one had moved. She wondered if they were confused like she was.

Ryan had already given the Abraxan a drink, so she decided to try cleaning a hoof.
She followed Professor Maline's instructions, and cleaned it out gently with the water, smiling warmly at the Abraxan. These really were fantastic creatures. She then performed the part she had been dreading - the Scourgify charm, which she had really never been too good at....
'Scourgify,' she said clearly, pointing her wand at the Abraxan's hoof. She was pleased by the results - even though they weren't exactly perfect - and stepped back, smiling.

Ariana grinned happily as she wrote down what to do, knowing she'd do ewll with this. She had a way with creatures it seemed, they knew she didn't mean any harm, and they were right. She hated seeing injured creatures, always wanting to help them if she could. Feeling another yawn coming, she quickly stiffled it, thinking 'I'm awake I will not sleep until its time. I can do this.'

Putting her notebook on the ground beside her eagle feathered quill she got up, from her bean bag chair and stretched, watching as no one moved. It seemed she'd have to be the first one to try it, good thing she knew the Scougrify charm she thought as she eyed the Abraxan, wondering where to start. She felt a prickling nerousness overcome her and knew it wasn't her own emotion. Shaking it off, she walked carefully towards the Abraxan neaerst her, the female it seemed and gaxed int its eyes.

Deciding she'd try to clean the hooves first, she walked up to the Abraxan, smiling gently showing it no fear. She didn't fear the creature, actually she thought it was gorgeous. Stopping behind the Abraxan, she looked at its feet, suddenly wondering what it would feel like to get hit by it. Probably would hurt a lot she thought with a shake of her head. Reaching up to pet it, she stroked the creature and smiled a bit more. Feeling confident, she bent down to where the knee joint was and gently tapped behind it.

Sure enough she saw that the knee was now by her hip. Feeling very confident now, she took out her wand as she picked up its hoof and took a deep cleansing breath. She hoped her exsaustion wouldn't effect her spell-casting. Surrounding herself with good thoughts she waved her wand, pointed it to the hoof and said "Sourgify." in a calm voice. The hoof, which had been slightly dirty before, suddenly became clean. Not exactly spotless mind you, but good enough for her purposes she though.

She noticed there was still a bit of muck in the hoof, where the spell hadn't reachedd, so she used her wand to make a small fountain of water and gently cleaened the edges, making sure the hoof was cleaner. It looked good to her and she nodded, satisfied with the results of her work. Turning to look at professor Maline, she grinned happily and stood back to allow another student to try. If she could do it in her sleepy state, anyone could she thought.

Clifford pushed his notes roughly into his bag and got to his feet. He approached the Abraxan nervously, they were meant to clean it? He couldn't help feel a little nervous, standing so close to it.
He wasn't normally good at cleaning spells but decided to give it a try, he moved behind a leg and gently tapped behind the knee, trying to urge the Abraxan to give him his hoof. He grinned as the Abraxan raised his hoof, maybe this wouldn't be so hard after all. "Scorigify," he muttered, pointing his wand at the hoof. He saw some of the dirt disappear, but it wasn't a very good job, he still hadn't mastered these spells very well.

He moved away from leg and approached the podium, he took a handful of the bright green cream and climbed on the podium in order to massage it into the wing joint. He massaged it as gently as he could, not wanting to hurt the Abraxan, he watched as some of the dirt vanished and grinned.

He jumped from the podium and looked at the Abraxan, smiling. "You're gonna be clean once this class is over, aren't you!" He moved back to watch his classmates carry on the cleaning, his hands still covered in bright green cream.

Ryan moved onto cleaning a wing.
'Aguamenti,' she commanded, after tucking back a loose strand of now-pink hair behind her ear. She then washed down the wing, grinning broadly as she did so. 'This is the best lesson ever,' she thought out loud. This was definitely her favourite class from now on.

Jasmine smiled at the 5 points for her house and listened again as the professor explained how to care for the Abraxans. She couldn't help but giggle when the male Abraxan looked at Ophelia and whinnied,"Is all this quite neccesary?" when she had lifted his hoof.

Nodding her head at the professor's instructions, she stood on the podium next to the wing of the female and gently ran her hand along the wing until it fanned out before her. Taking out her wand, she said firmly, "Aguamenti!" a gently stream of water jetted from the end of her wand as she aimed it away from the bone and downwards. She only cleaned a small section so as to leave some for the students behind her.

Moving on to the joint, Jasmine eyed it critically and cleaned it. Picking up the bright green cream, Jasmine took a light sniff, wrinkled her nose a bit and gently applied some to the joint of the wing. She softly muttered some words of endearment to the Abraxan as she rubbed just a little of the cream in.

Smiling, she jumped off the podium and moved on to the Abraxan's back leg. Running her hand lightly down the back of the leg, she tapped it behind the knee and the Abraxan did just as the professor said it would with it's bent knee by her hip so she was able to hold it's hoof. Using her wand once more she cast aguamenti and then scourgify on a small portion of the large hoof until it was clean. It was a bit of a struggle to hold that large hoof and cast the necessary spells but, she thought she managed it nicely enough.

Letting the hoof return to it's standing position she moved over to the Abraxan's left flank and using aguamenti, cleaned a patch of hair, making sure to go in the direction of the hair. Standing back she admired the glossy coat before moving on so another student could have a go at it.

Happy with her efforts, Jasmine then went over to get some feed. Placing some nice lush grasses and ripe vegitables in a basket, she approached the male Abraxan and let him eat the small amount she offered. She knew the other students had to feed them as well and she didn't want to give him too much. As he finished, Jasmine gently stroked his soft nose and he gave her low whinney. Smiling, she leaned up as high as she could and kissed his nose."You are very welcome!"

Jasmine returned the basket by the feed and gathering her notes she sat on a patch of grass and started documenting all that had transpired during class. She need not perform the task of giving them a drink again as she had done so during the lesson. Glancing up now and then at the other student's progress, Jasmine drew a few more sketches and added some observations to her notes.

Katelyn stood up, and decided to clean one of the Abraxan's hooves. She took out her wand, and put it in her pocket. She walked up to the big creature, which seemed a million times her size, and gave it a huge smile. Katelyn tapped it behind the knee gently, and its knee shot up to her hip. She smiled, and took the hoof in her hands. She took out her wand, and poitned it at the hoof. "Scourigify," she said softly, and wondered how it would turn out, for she hadnt ever used this spell before. It cleaned it, but not much. Katelyn frowned, and tried to shoot a gentle amount of water form her wand onto his hoof. She succeeded, but still there was guck on the hoof.
"Okay, i'll try again," she said to herself, and pointed her wand once again at the hoof. She muttered scorigify, and the hoof actually looked pretty cleaned. She sighed in relief, and let the hoof fall down next to her. She smiled up at the creature. "Your very pretty and beautiful, you know that?" she said to the Abraxan, and went back to where she was sitting. She wondered what to do next.

Finished with the hoof, she moved on to its wing. Standing on the podium felt weird, but it was the only way for her to properly look after it.Taking slow breaths she walked over and ran her hand through it, feeling the fur move against her skin. Gently moving her hand through it, she waited until the wing was fully stretched out and went on to cast the Aguamenti spell, cleaning it before she moved on to the cream.

Watching as Jasmine finished with the Abraxans' other side, she counted in her head all the things she still needed to do and went about it. "Aquamenti." she said, and a small burst of water came from the tip of her wand, engulfing a small part of the wing, cleaning it throughouly. Satisfied it was clean properly, she moved to the joint, where she picked up the cream, applying a small amount to her hand.

Carefully, and with such tenderness she placed the cream on and started moving it around the joint, making sure to miss nothing. She did half of it so someone else could do the rest and felt herself enjoying it. Her hand smelled weird because of the green cream, but it seemed to help the Abraxan, who was standing tall and proud. "You enjoyed that eh?" she asked it quetly, rubbing her hand over the flank.

Looking raround, she was glad to see more students come up and start cleansing the creatures. There was only one thing left she thought as she held her wand in her left hand as she walked towards the chest area of the palamino, careful not to get too close to the front so she wouldn't get hurt. "Aquamenti." she said softly, watching as another burst of water came from its tip, cleaning the fur, making sure it stayed with the direction of the fur so she wouldn't mess up its coat.

When she was finally finished, she stepped back, admiring her work. Nodding to herself, she walked back to her bean bag and picked up her notebook, writing down her observations of what she had accomplished. Finished writing, she picked up her drawing book and began filling in the details, not wanting to miss anything. "Mom will love this." she said to herself as she colored in the dark colro of its fur.

Chloe quickly wrote down the homework, she loved this class. thos Abraxans were abesolutely beautiful, she couldn't wait to learn more about them. she got up and left to go on to her next class.

Clifford quickly scribbled the homework on a spare piece of parchment, folded it up and put it in the pocket of his robes. He glanced at the Abraxan, it looked cleaner than before and still had people washing it. He grinned and left the classroom.

Jackie stepped up onto a podium which increased her height considerably, then prepared to clean out the hooves of the Abraxan she was tending to.
She stood directly behind the left leg and leaned forward, then tapped the skin behind the Abraxan's knee once. Jackie gulped, as the creature raised it's leg slowly. Feeling shakily nervous, she tried to steady her hand and gripped the hoof lightly. With her free hand she raised her wand and muttered
"Aquamenti," as quietly as she could. Like she intended, a gentle flow of water began pouring out of her wand, so she directed it at the hoof. Once the hoof was reasonably mud-free, she raised her wand again and said clearly
"Scourgify!" Jackie siphoned away the remaining dirt then leant back to analyse her work.
"Are you happy with that?" she asked the Abraxan, not feeling silly just because she was talking to an animal. The hoof was perfectly clear and looked quite healthy, so she lowered the leg with satisfaction and began repeating the same process with the right leg.

Laylee had been listening and watching intently! Taking notes and doing drawings of the movements of the animal! She thought about how great it was to live in a community where people acctually care for these type of animals and stuff! She stepped up slowly to the male, and did the steps it took to give the creature a drink. She looked at his fabulous pure white body, and then looking closer noticed something odd. She came a bit closer and noticed a clump of fur was slightly pink just behind his front leg. She wondered if he had been hurt or even..... then without knowing what was going on she was falling! She had moved to far to the side of the platform and was falling off! When she regained herself and had a good laugh about how silly she must have looked, raised her hand and said, "Umm professor? I think something happened to this male Abraxan!" She felt stupid. She could be wrong, and maybe it was just the light..

Jackie had cleaned the hooves of her Abraxan, so moved onto the wings. She stood on another podium by the right wing and raised her wand high, then pointed it downwards, in the drection of the feathers.
"Aquamenti," she muttered, so a stream of water ran through the feathers, hopefully removing the dirt.
After a few minutes of cleaning, she looked at the wing closely. It seemed to be dirt-free, so she smiled and repeated the process with the left wing.
Once she had finished, she picked up a tub of green cream and began masaging the wing joints. Her finger slipped a lot, as the cream was slimy but thick. She applied the cream as gently as she could, then heard the Abraxan make a satified sort of grunt. Jackie removed her hands and quickly washed them, not wanting her hands to smell of rotten mushy peas.
She only had to wash the rest of the Abraxan with water now, so she turned to Laylee.

"Laylee, could you help me clean this fellow please, he's quite big..." she asked politely, before muttering "Aquamenti" and starting to clean the Abraxan's shoulders.

Laylee looked over at Jackie and told her what she thought she saw on the back of the male Abraxans leg! She told her how she fell off and told the professor, and she was waiting for the her to check it out...

Jackie stopped over to Laylee's Abraxan, stopping her cleaning for a moment. There was small patch of pink on one of the legs.
"Hmm," she said, looking puzzled. "That's a bit weird... I'm sure Professor Maline will know what that is..."
She went back to her Abraxan and continued washing him. She directed the water gently onto the top of it's head, letting it trickle down and clean his nose.

Jackie didnt think it was a big deal, but Laylee wasnt sure......

"I think Professor Maline's in her office, why don't you go and ask her?" said Jackie, noticing that Laylee still looked quite worried.
She started washing off the Abraxan's back legs with her wand, noticing that it's wings and hooves were much clearer than before.
'This is great,' she thought, smiling to herself. 'I actually feel like I've done something useful!'

[Keysquah]

"Yeah okay! Ill be right back."

[Madfish]

"Ok, I'm done know so I'll see you in Defense okay!" replied Jackie.
She admired her sparkling Abraxan and stroked his head for a minute.
"Thankyou very much Mr Abraxan!" she said, patting him twice.
Jackie scribbled down the homework, then headed back towards the castle for DADA.
