Buffet and Seating Area
The seating area consists of six tables for the ten departments in the British Ministry. The table across the top of the room is reserved for Level 2 employees. As the largest department, Magical Law Enforcement need a bit of space. The central table is where the Minister's Office employees each have a seat, including the Minister of Magic himself. The four U shaped tables are where the other departments are arrayed. The leftmost table is reserved for Mysteries and Creatures employees, while the middle left is where Accidents and Catastrophes and Environment employees are to be situated. On the middle right is where you will find Transportation employees, as well as Maintenance employees and new Specialty area employees. And finally, the far right is where Games and Sports and International Cooperation employees will share a table.
Each and every employee will find a little name tag marking their seat at their department's table. Fancy cutlery and plates are in evidence but they are empty until you take them to the buffet tables to pick what you want to eat. There are two buffet tables, one on each side of the big dining room, and when meal time comes, each will boast a cacophony of gastronomic delights. You'll find simple foods like sandwiches, fruit, and a variety of salads, to more substantial things like roast beef, roast chicken, steamed vegetables, gravy, and bread rolls. Later there will even be dessert: trifle, ice cream of various flavours provided by Florean Fortescue's, chocolate pudding, fruit salad, sugared violet pudding, fruit parfait, and apple pie.
Of course employees are more than welcome to pop over to another table to chat with friends and coworkers, but please be sure to return to your assigned seat as requested by the Minister or by the Department Heads. Enjoy!

It figured that this would be the first place Wesley would find. He breezed past the employees all ... meeting and greeting each other, and figured he would just meet and greet all of his later when they were eating. Or when he was going for seconds. Whichever happened first.
The man nosed around the table at the head of the hall, noting that his chair was in a line with the Minister's, but not so close that all he would see were the back of the man's head all night. All right, all right. He'd behave and sit at his assigned seat, for now, but he was definitely going to move to Izzy's table later.
Wes picked up a plate and decided to go scope out the buffet table next, even though it looked like they were still setting the food out... oh well. The early bird got the worm.

Rafael eyed the assemblage of ministry workers with detached interest. He had been wondering the place with no intent on mingling with such a large group. His employees could just come find him when they were done greeting everyone else, or he would find them in the office once this was done.
The food was about as much interest to him as the new employees, but at least they wouldn't bother him with silly things like that scavenger hunt. "Wesley." He inclined his head towards the man in greeting as he approached the table. Who made this food anyway?

Wes didn't even have to turn to know the voice of his fellow department head. Who else would be scoping out the buffet this early? Only the intelligent people who had set this place up, clearly. Cough.
"Rafa.....el...." he returned in a slow drawl, not taking his eyes off the steaming roast beef that had just been set down onto its platter. He did give the guy a glance before turning back to the food, just to confirm that he was addressing the right person. "Hungry, bored, or both?"

Wes just shook his head incredulously to himself and, noting that everything was DONE now, started loading up his plate. "Yes, well, I'd rather eat than talk... or mingle...." Like Rafa. "So you should too."
His plate was only half-full so far, but he paused where he was in the buffet to sample and talk. "Yeah," Wes munched around a crescent roll, "it was interesting. I uh, my wife gave birth," that sounded so strange aloud, "and it was twins! So a big surprise there. Also, we might have apprehended that time thief from Hogwarts. Still working out the details on her case though."
He paused to dip his roll into a bit of gravy, all nonchalant like. "How was your break?" The guy had probably been hiking or something. He seemed like the hiking type. OR, the chillax between the pool and tennis court type. Yeah, definitely a tennis player, that Rafa.

Julia walked into the hall. Tables arranged, high maintenance, according to department. What about mingling? Never mind. She spotted Mr.Ferguson at the MLE side and made her way. With all this meeting and greeting, she'd seen all of this before, not again.
She sat down on her chair and turned to the Dept Head. "Wes-" she started, "-Erm, Mr.Ferguson" He's the department head Julia, be polite for god's sake. "So have you found someone to replace your latest job?" she asked with a smile. "Wand weighting did suit you well" Uh-oh, not so well though. And she saw another man talking to him and she gave him a small smile. "Hello" she said, he did look a bit distraught.

That's why Dimitri was so enthusiast with this orientation and the stuff. They have FOOD! A very delicious food that maybe could make everyone gained weight so easily. Everyone. Except him. Yeah, even he could eat so much as he want, but he hardly gained his weight. Maybe for some people, it was a gift. But for him, it's a disaster.
The skinny guy stared at the buffet table. Nomnomnom.. Which one he should eat first? Casually he grabbed Ham and Cheese grilled sandwich, bread rolls, roasted beef and roasted chicken. He couldn't wait more for eating them all!!

Yeah, he already knew people from his own Department and EVEN some few people from other Departments as well thanks to the drooling incident. He didn't need anymore 'friends'. He didn't feel like 'getting to kow people better'.

Dimitri was seriously munching his ham and cheese sandwich. Merlin's baldhead, It's so much delicious! Maybe he could grab another one.. but some of food was still on his plate, calling himself to eat them. Hehehe. His brown eyes spotted a man who looked familiar. Yep, Derek the potion-geek potioneer.
"Derek! Hello there." He greeted the A&C employee while the plate--which was empty suddenly--was still on his hand. Then he grabbed another sandwich. "Youwannasome?" He offered and coughed suddenly. Too much eating made his throat gone dry.
He need some coffee to rinse it!

Manolo nearly floated in. It didn't even take him long to find his seat, but he didn't even stop. He just scooped up his plate and went straight to the buffet. Just like his little sister, always going straight to the food in these types of things.
He returned to his seat with food piled on his plate and a bit already in his mouth. When it comes to delicious food, all manners are aside. He sat quietly anxiously waiting for his fellow co-workers.

Boo. The meet and greet area was teeming with Chatty Cathies and Charlies. Kat wouldn't have minded hanging around and socializing because DUH, she enjoyed chatting. And people. Sadly, she couldn't. Her heels, the ones she had saved for special occasions were killing her tonight, giving her no other option but to move over to a less cramped area.
The buffet and seating area turned out to be a bit of a disappoint. It was too uncrowded. In fact, she was the ONLY woman there. Awkward, much? Plus the table reserved for her department's employees was empty. She shot a fleeting glance around and headed for the buffet table. Well, she guessed she could always enjoy the night through food. As she strode toward the table, Kat witnessed what she'd not expected to see - a man with armful of food. What was he, twelve? Don't judge Kat, you aren't any different.
That was true. Katherine would rather have a cheeseburger than a sorry looking salad. Thank you, high metabolism! She eyed the two men suspiciously, weighing them up. All right. The tall, skinny guy certainly had a problem. The other one, the sensible looking guy, seemed a tiny bit grossed out? And what about you, Kat? Appraising two men while standing two feet away? Ugh. How stalker-ish of her.
Kat was just counting her options when Skinny started choking on his own food. The twenty-three year old closed the distance between and as if automatically, she slapped the guy, the one who was coughing, on his back. It was something her mother did whenever someone in her family choked on food. "Oh no, I didn't!" She gasped after realizing what a horrible thing she had done. But he needed that. Or did he? "I was just trying to help." Her clarification encompassed both of them.

Melissa entered the hall and noticed that the tables had been arranged according to departments. Making her way to the front, she sat down and looked around, before recognizing her Department Head, Mr. Ferguson. She would have gone up to speak with him, but he was busy speaking with someone else and she didn't want to interrupt him. So she made her way along the rows of chairs until she found her name tag.'Guess this is where I sit.' Melissa thought to herself.
Noticing that others had already made their way to the buffet table and were filling up their plates with food, she picked up hers and walked over to the table. She was amazed at the spread of food that they were being offered. She felt her stomach growl and realized that she was hungry. Looking around to make sure that nobody had heard her tummy growl, Melissa, started filling up her plate, with sandwiches, potato salad, roast chicken, steamed veggies and then scooped up some gravy and liberally covered her potato and roast chicken with it.
Looking down at her plate, Melissa began to laugh. If people didn't know better, they would think that she hadn't eaten in a week. Her plate was now piled high with food.

Alex entered the buffet area, his bloodshot eyes scanning the place. He was sure he was supposed to go sit at a certain spot or something to sit at, but he couldn't remember where. He was so confused...ugh...he shouldn't be here...he'd been feeling really weird lately. Something was wrong with him.
Deciding he'd just try and stay for a little while, he walked along the tables, and suddenly ran into the wall, causing him to fall backwards onto the floor. He blinked. "I need to watch where I'm going..." he muttered to himself as he stood up. He was never this clumsy! Ever!
He sighed, and continued to walk along one of the long tables at the far end of the room. As he walked along it, he noticed a name tag with his name on it at one of the seats. Oh. So this must be where he should be sitting.
He plopped down into the seat with a sigh, staring at the food in front of him. Drool slowly dripped from his mouth and trickled down his chin, and he quickly wiped it away. He glanced around quickly, hoping no one had seen. Merlin's beard, what was happening to him?! He swallowed hard, putting a hand up to his pale cheeks. They felt a little warm...he then felt his forehead which felt the same. He sighed, running a hand through his jet black hair. Maybe he should just go home now...
...but all this food looked really good...
Maybe he'd stay for a little bit more.

Rafael shrugged, stared back. "I'm particular about what I eat." He rarely ate at these things.
"Pass. I'll watch you and everyone else eat instead." A task that neither required eating or his part, or mingling. And since there wasn't much happening at the moment, he chose to watch Wes load up his plate with food.
A smile hadn't graced his lips the entire time he'd been in this building, which was a long time considering the orientation had just begun, but one spread across his face at the news of twins. It was worthy of such a thing. "Congratulations. On the birth and the possible arrest, assuming you got the right person." Hopefully so. "What did you name the twins?"
His eyes flicked over to all the employees starting to make there way over to the buffet. It was going to get crowded soon. "My break was not as busy as yours. Spent some time in Australia." Definitely not playing tennis. His eyes settled on the closest new face, new to him at least, who was now speaking to them. "Hello."

Julia walked into the hall. Tables arranged, high maintenance, according to department. What about mingling? Never mind. She spotted Mr.Ferguson at the MLE side and made her way. With all this meeting and greeting, she'd seen all of this before, not again.
She sat down on her chair and turned to the Dept Head. "Wes-" she started, "-Erm, Mr.Ferguson" He's the department head Julia, be polite for god's sake. "So have you found someone to replace your latest job?" she asked with a smile. "Wand weighting did suit you well" Uh-oh, not so well though. And she saw another man talking to him and she gave him a small smile. "Hello" she said, he did look a bit distraught.

Wes stifled a chuckle at Julia's self-correcting. "Wes is fine, Julia," he greeted her with a little smile. "I sure did. It turned out it wasn't really my cup of tea. What are the YATI for, anyway?" Low man on the totem pole got the low-level job, as it were.
He finished chewing his little croissant and gestured toward the other department head in their vicinity. "This is Rafael Belmonte. Head of the Department of Environmental Regulation and Protection." And he thought his department title was long! "Rafa, meet Julia. Works on my level, in the Improper Use of Magic Office." She was an investigator, he believed.
Wes nodded at the congratulations, picking up a fork and starting to stab at some vegetables around the plate he was... still standing and eating. "Yeah, thanks. It was a life-changing break, it was. We named them Scott and Logan. Both boys."
Two boys! He couldn't be prouder, and was grinning to himself as he moved food from plate to mouth, plate to mouth. "So Australia, huh?" He chewed and swallowed before speaking more. "What did ya do? I'm originally from Australia..." He LOVED it there.

Wes' eyes roamed around the room a bit while he was chewing a bit of roast beef on a roll. Mmm. Delicious. He noticed another woman picking up food and recognized her as Melissa, also from level 2. CMEC, if he wasn't mistaken.
Why was she laughing at her plate though? "You all right there, Potter?" he called out to her. She wasn't under someone's spell, was she?

They felt a little warm...he then felt his forehead which felt the same. He sighed, running a hand through his jet black hair. Maybe he should just go home now...
...but all this food looked really good...
Maybe he'd stay for a little bit more.
And there was another weird-looking one... Wes didn't know this guy though. He just noticed him... drooling. And staring. Come to think of it, he was kind of behaving like his little MLES employee...girl person... the one who had asked for time off when she felt 'sick'.....
"Oi," he leaned in to talk to Julia in a low tone, "we should keep an eye on that one, there," Wes nodded to the guy slumped in his seat. "He looks like he might barf all over the tables at any point..."

It was something her mother did whenever someone in her family choked on food. "Oh no, I didn't!" She gasped after realizing what a horrible thing she had done. But he needed that. Or did he? "I was just trying to help." Her clarification encompassed both of them.
Nice speed? Huh. Was it a good compliment or an insult?
But Dimitri took it casually, he didn't feel being insulted about that because it was so real! He was a fast eater and could eat more than normal people do.. But still. It affected nothing to his build. *coughs*

If Derek were eating anything right now, he himself would have choked. That was a pretty funny sight, actually. With an amused look on his face, the young man turned to take a better look at the newcomer. He had never seen her before. Despite the fact he didn't like people that much, that girl's entrance amused him some. Derek didn't even glare at her for being... well, rude.
The fact didn't make Dimitri's bloodshot eyes go unnoticed, though. Derek quickly eyed his... 'friend' closely, taking a good look at his eyes. "Are you feeling alright, Dimitri?" He finally asked, completely ignoring the girl that was standing next to them. The other guy seemed pale and... WHAT???

Kensi was...lost...where was she again? She didn't even remember. Her skin was paler than normal, and the lack of color in her face made her look significantly ill. Her eyes were blank as she walked onward...why was she..here? She was so confused.
Really REALLY confused...
The American lost her gaze and continued walking..the drooling was more like a waterfall, now...and she walked right past the tables and headed straight for a WALL.

Kensi ran right into it, and she bounced back a little, tripped, and fell FLAT on her back....she had her eyes closed, but her head was spinning...where...was she...and why was she...laying down...WORK..she was at work...

But then she stopped when she got nearer to the woman. Something was not right with her. But she couldn't just stand there and do nothing, so she knelt down and said.
"Are you okay?"Melissa asked before she realized that she had just asked a dumb question. 'Of course she isn't Melissa or do you think all staff come in to eat looking pale and falling down on the floor." Melissa chided herself.
She looked around to see whether anyone else noticed what was going on .

"I..don't know why I'm..here..." but she knew that she knew why she was here..before...if that made ANY sense?! She rubbed her head and suddenly aw stars...her head was spinning...and she began to gag, like she might throw up. She clutched her stomach and turned her head to the side so that the 'helpful' lady wouldn't be in the way of any...projectiles.
BLEGH!
Kensi's drool was also not helping..it was making her choke and sputter even more...
