The Office of Gabriela Schultz, Department Head http://i1308.photobucket.com/albums/...psccc5004e.jpg As you enter the office, you notice that it doesn't look TOOOO different compared to when Gabi occupied the space. In fact, it looks almost exactly the same.. |
Gabriela Schultz was wearing one of her favorite outfits today as she confidently strutted towards the office of the Level 6 Department Head. She was well aware that the work area around here was in shambles, of course, but there was something very important to be done before she got to any of that. Stopping at the front door, she raised her wand and gave it a quick SWISH so that the name "Cale Newell" was replaced with "Gabriela Schultz". There. Just as it should be. Alright, now to deal with this mess... |
With his choice of places to start for his current assignments, Simon had of course opted to Level 6 first. No point in trying Games and Sports without backup which he hadn't gotten...yet. Maybe he'd convince a YATI or two next time around. Easily gaining access to the department given he had been doing rounds in his duel role as security as well as his status as an MLE liaison, the auror made his way through the work are to the office clearly denoted as the one belonging to the current department head. The returned department head from previous years. One Gabriela Schultz. He approached the door and gave it two clear knocks to announce his presence. As long as the woman in question was inside or nearby which he had been told she likely was at the moment. Now he just had to patiently wait for whatever reaction was to come. And then they could get onto the business of security planning for the public event. |

Speaking of things on her plate - someone was knocking at her office. She'd had her feet propped up on her desk as she looked over the profiles of her visitors for the symposium, so she got up and put her pumps back on. She straightened her pencil skirt, ran a hand through her hair, and went to open the door for whoever was behind it. Ok, not one of her employees. Who was he? "Hello, how can I help you?" she asked. |

"Good day," he said with a polite nod as he returned her greeting. "I'm Simon Bennett from the MLE and I'm here to see actually how I can help you." A sort of return of her own question. They were to work together after all instead of her actually doing anything one-sided for him. Though he supposed she did have to be agreeable to the planning. "To speak with you about any security measures and presence that might be required or desired at your symposium." |

"Since you're the security expert, you can let me know if what I'm envisioning makes sense or not," she chuckled as she pulled out her notes. "Basically, we're going to need two branches of security - a couple of wizards to help the visiting speakers and carpet vendors, and we will be having an interactive flying carpet station for people to test an actual carpet, so we will need some sort of security station there - or would that be Accidents and Catastrophes?" she asked. She hoped he was following along with everything, but she figured he'd ask if anything didn't make sense to him. |
SPOILER!!: Gabi The auror was inwardly relieved that the department head seemed downright cheery about his presence and the task at hand. A far different reaction to the other meeting that Simon remembered Emily herself was heading. He took one of the offered seats in the office and listened intendedly as she started the discussion from her point of view on the matter. Alright, so she already had ideas on what she believed might be good for the event and he nodded to show he was in agreement on what Miss Schultz was saying. Simon was sure they could work off of that as a jumping off point. "Sounds good. It might be good to have a presence from both departments for that. Cover you bases in the event any number of things goings wrong." Aron would be willing to offer assistance...yes? As for the two branches of security they would surely have to pull from the auror and hit wizard pool to allow for full coverage. Jackson was his most active security coworker with Blaize out of the office so perhaps they would each lead an area. |

"Yes, that sounds good. Just in case, although I will be working with my department to assure that the charms on the carpet are all VERY secure," she added. So, let's see - security for visiting wizards, and people for the flying carpet station, had she missed anything? "The only other thing I could think of would be someone possibly trying to steal something from the vendors?" she suggested. It could happen - and if it did she wanted to be sure that was covered too, if Emily and her team thought it necessary. |

"Of course..." he said, acknowledging the department head's plans for her own employees. "I hope I didn't give you the impression I doubted your department would have their own procedures and not do them. Because I certainly hadn't meant to." That was the honest to goodness truth for how would they ever properly work together smoothly if they unintentially offended each other. "We can certainly have a patrol looking after the vendors or perhaps a ward to insure nothing goes missing that isn't bought." It all depended on the amount of security presence that one wanted. Sometimes the magic of spells was a big help instead of always cluttering spots with people. It was the reason Diagon Alley only had to be patrolled, not constantly monitored from posts. |
__Through the standard means and secure delivery postage channels, a very important piece of owl mail is placed on the Magical Transportation Department Head's desk. The missive is on special letterhead and sealed with a lime green wax seal.
