The Office of Cale Markus Newell, Department Head
 As you enter the office, you notice that it doesn't look TOOOO different compared to when Gabi occupied the space. There are a few less plants and picture frames, but Cale has still done a number of things to make it his home. There's a frame heart shaped picture of Cale and his wife, Anna, and another of his kids in their Slytherin uniforms. Despite his Slytherin kids, there's a few Gryffindor banners and posters along the walls, showing his Lion Pride despite his graduation years ago.
There are two big fluffy armchairs, and a few other small, wooden chairs in case those fluffy chairs aren't really your cup of tea. There's a nice IN and OUT paper tray for sending and receiving memos to keep things organized, but if you need to speak to Cale, have a seat and he'll be with you shortly!

Ok. Office time.
Cale Newell walked into his office and looked around. It was just the same as when he'd left it after setting up that day about a week ago, except now there would be EMPLOYEES here. At any minute. Was he nervous? NO NOT NERVOUS AT ALL WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.
Biting his lip, he took a seat at his desk, his leg bouncing up and down. Ok, he could do this. He could do this. OOOOH that coffee this morning was probably NOT a good idea UGH.

Reese's high heels were click-clacking against the ground as she made her way over to the department head's office. She had something to talk to Mr. Cale Newell about, and since he already personally knew her and had already been congratulated by her on his new position, she would gladly brush off introduction and go straight to the point.
Once arriving to the door to his office, she took the liberty to assume he was in there alone because she had not seen a single employee on Level Six yet arrive to work. She also took the liberty to welcome herself at home and walk right onto into the office without knocking because well, she was Reese. Weren't there some exceptions to the rule around here for her?
"Newell," she firmly stated as she went to take a seat in one of the fluffy armchairs. "I want to talk to you about something."

"Do you not see the sign out there? The one that says to KNOCK first?" he asked with a small smirk. It's not like he had a line of visitors waiting for him right now SO Reese was off the hook on this one.
"Ok...what's up?" he asked with a grin. OOOH was this his first chance at official DEPARTMENT HEAD businesssss???

Reese had to cover her mouth a little to stop the giggling when she took notice of the man jumping at her grand entrance. She had not meant to make him jump like he did but goodness gracious, that had been funny!
... oh. "There's a sign? Really?" News to her. She got to her feet once more and went back to the door, and she peeked around the corner to look at the sign that was indeed plastered to the wall. "Honestly, you should enlarge that sign, Cale. You do know however that rules are just guidlines for me." So, making it bigger would not stop her from barging on in if she knew he had nobody inside the office.
She went to take a seat once more, and she crossing her ankles once she was seated. "Tell me more about this Liaison to the Minister position that I had heard about through the grapevine," she casually replied. Not saying she was interested, she just wanted to know more about it. She liked knowing things.

"Basically, the liaison communicates to other Department Heads and the Minister about what's happening here on Level Six," he explained. That was the most simple way of putting it.

Okay, that name had just thrown her off subject completely because she just HAD to add, "Isn't that the name of those goo-ey supportive things you put in your shoes?" She made a serious, comprehensive look at him. "Important role? Well, it's a good thing that you have such an important person sitting right in front of you..."

Maya was pretty sure another woman had already made her way into the Department Head's office, so she wasn't sure whether to knock or not. After deciding to wait a little bit, the woman went to the large board for announcements, surveying it intently. Oooh, Diagon Alley. That would be fun.
After a couple of minutes, she just couldn't take waiting pointlessly for more than that. Being impatient was simply in her nature. Maya was meant to be trying out bravery and all that palava, so she took a deep breath and knocked on the door. What was the worst that could happen? She'd have to wait a couple more minutes? ooc- this is okay, isn't it? Maya just wants to introduce herself. | |

Reese lifted her shoulders a little to shrug off the question. "Shoe inserts," she corrected her previous statement. "I am sure they have some called Schultz or something…" Whatever. She was not knowledgable in shoe inserts because she never had to use those muggle inventions.
"Quite possibly," she replied. At the sound of a knock, she took a quick glance over at the door then back at her friend. "We will talk about this on a later note, Newell." She stood to her feet and added, "Have a good evening." She left the office now, leaving the door open for the woman that was waiting outside.

Maya bit her lip when the woman came out of the office. She hoped that is wasn't her fault she was leaving because what if that meeting was about something important? The woman hadn't met the department head yet and therefore knew nothing about him. Which was worrying. Taking a deep breath, she pushed the door open.
"Hello," Maya greeted the Department head, smiling hesitantly as she entered the room. "I'm Maya Palmer. I just wanted to introduce myself before I start properly." That sounded so stupid. She hoped that her words didn't sound as shaky and terrified as she felt. Should she say anything else?

Cale was always so nice and polite. He hoped that made him an effective department head.
"Believe it or not, I'm new to this department too, so don't hesitate to come ask me any questions or anything of the sort," he assured her. "Chances are I know how it feels to be in your shoes," he chuckled.

Vincent walked into the waiting room with a small smile. He was so excited to come, and he figured he might as well introduce himself, after all, he was probably going to be the youngest here... The younger you were the more social right? He looked at his heads door and seeing a 'please knock' sign.
He paused for a moment but knocked and stepped back from the door, just in case he would be to busy to talk. He waited, nerves starting to get to him. There wasn't really much else for her to say and the other man had arrived too. Should she use it as a way to leave? Maybe. Or she could just edge slowly towards the door. Which she did.

Zach followed Cale towards his office. He looked around and smiled. This indeed is a very different looking office. It has a touch of modern style into it. And less plants.
He remembered being here before. It was Gabi, and she loves plants. So there were pot plants everywhere in this office.
He noticed fluffy armchairs. What's with the Department Heads and their fluffy armchairs. Anyway, he came here not for the armchairs but for a mission.
"Since change is inevitable, and in time for the new year, the Minister deems that we need to change something." he started.

We also brainstorm ways to make those things BETTER," he added, his arms waving as he talked enthusiastically. "So for example, brooms. You not only make sure brooms are working, but you also work with the other broom people to make sure the stores are stocked, all brooms are up to code, brainstorming new charms to enhance them, and all sorts of things like that," he added. He knew it was hard sometimes to visualize what EXACTLY happened on his level. Heck, he hadn't even really known until he took the job!

He offered him a seat in one of the armchairs, which he noted he had been eyeing, and then took a seat behind his own desk.
"What needs changing?" he asked casually. He didn't think it'd be a BIG change or anything, but you never knew around this place!

Zach sounds surprised, of all the Department Heads he had spoken to, so far, Cale had the biggest reaction. The one that they have ben expecting when the dress code scheme is going to come out. "We are thinking of implementing a dress code for all ministry employees. It wouldn't necessary be a uniform, but as a means of making the employees dress appropriate for the tasks they are doing." after all those talks he sounds like a salesperson trying to sell the dress code. But in this particular situation he just needs information.

Cale didn't mind them - he was a classy dresser after all and was never in danger of breaking them. He leaned back and smiled at the undersecretary.
"I wasn't aware that there were any dress code problems," he admitted. "But in any case, I'm fully behind it. So what were you and the Minister thinking?" he asked. Business casual? Black tie? Casual Fridays??

Well, he at least seem to be wrong about his boss. He was actually nice, he was expecting someone rude or who wouldn't have time for him... That's how Simon was at camp last year, such a rude man...
