The Ministry Daycare

http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/...psd366db41.gif

As you walk into the daycare itself, you enter a large, white room with a high domed ceiling (It's magic!). Everything is light and clean looking. There are curved shelves with brightly colored toys stacked neatly in place. Little tables and chairs are set in a cluster for the kids that are old enough to color and handle crayons (without trying to eat them!).

In another part of the room, comfy chairs and cushions are set up. Anyone up for a good story? This is where one of our wonderful ministry daycare workers will bring the babies and toddlers to read to them...or maybe just make up a story of their own. Either way, its the picture of comfort.

Do you work for the Ministry and have children? Then bring them here! We'll watch them while you work!

OOC: This is an RP thread. RP bringing your child in and dropping them off...or stick around. Would you like to join in on story time?

Sy Norah walked into the Daycare, hands on her hips. It was impressive, but she could see that some work still needed to be done. She had heard that windows needed to be made here? Hmmm.

Slytherin's Talon 11-09-2012 09:45 PM

Jane Stan entered into the Daycare with a work-smile on her face. Now time to get to work! She saw one woman already here. She was more than likely one of the people in the Daycare section, as there was no one else in the Carpenter one.

Did twin nieces count? They REALLY had to, because otherwise she'd have to bore them by making them sit by her desk making paperclip necklaces or something. Rose would be a DISASTER. Tori walked along the corridor looking smart, despite the fact that she had two sticky fingered five year olds holding her hands. Their mother had went off on a business trip and their father was supposed to look after them for three days. But then he got ill and was resting at home. So for one of the three days, they had to come into work with her. The next two were a weekend.

"Hello," Victoria said to the first woman she came across and assumed was a daycare worker. "These are my nieces, Rose and Lily." Oh no, they were doing the hair clip thing. Each of them had a hairclip, one with a lily on and one with a rose. Naturally, they teamed up and swapped hair clips every once in a while, just to confuse people who couldn't tell them apart. The only way she could herself was by looking and seeing which one was leading and talking the most. That was Rose. The shy, quiet one was Lily. Rose stepped forward and waved confidently. Shy little Lily lingered in the background, managing a tiny smile. Both of them looked around in awe, clearly aching to go and play with all these toys. Even Tori had to admit it was pretty impressive.

Jane Stan curled her lips when she saw two little brats being brought in the Daycare. In her opinion, most children who tried to trick their parents were brats. And what was this girl thinking, that she WORKED here? Thankfully not, she was just building the windows.

Jane crossed her arms and replied "I am building windows here, I am not in charge. You should see Sy Norah if you want to see the one in charge." Then she turned to walk away.

Now that just wasn't nice. She could've just been polite about it and pointed her in the direction of 'Sy Norah'.

"Didn't anyone ever bother to teach you manners?" Tori's hand flew to her mouth. Oops. Lily and Rose did their weird little high five handshake thing and Rose whispered something to her twin. Probably a boogie flicking contest at the weird window woman. Or a plan to bite her. Whatever it was, it wouldn't be nice.

"Dont you DARE!" Victoria hissed.

Sy Norah was finished sweeping the daycare. Yes, that was right, SWEEPING. She believed that such common house work was good without a wand.

It was then that she heard the grumpy voice of that window woman talking to someone. So Sy stood up and approached the group to see-surprise-two children and a teenager. She saw the window woman stalk away, and then she approached them.

"Hello, my name is Sy Norah, but you kids can call me Auntie Sy." She winked at the two little girls and put on a fake smile. "I run this Daycare, just tell me how long the kids will be staying here and tell me who their parents are so that I can contact them if needed."

CrazyMaisie 12-09-2012 06:24 PM

Tori looked up from her conversation with the twins and saw another woman approach them. Hopefully this one would be nicer than the last. She fiddled with a strand of her dark hair nevously, biting her lip accidently. She smiled in the most convincing way she could, trying desperately to keep her eyes open as she stood there with the twins slightly behind, giggling about something or other. Dangerous.

"Ms. Norah," Victoria said with a slight nod at the woman, who seemed genuinely nice with her pretty warm smile and ability to immediately relate with the kids. Well, sort of. "James Hollister will be at home all day at 16 Crescent st. in East London. I'll be here in the Ministry. 1st floor." With that she waved quickly to her nieces and hurried towards the door. They were Sy Norah's responsibility now, thank goodness.

Rose turned to Lily, leaning in closer to her twin. "I don't like the look of that," she whispered to her twin, almost silently, referring to the woman. Rose was good at reading people's personality straight away. Fake smile. Stupid attempt at getting them to call her a stupid name. "I say we prank," she said with her most evil grin. Lily nodded in agreement.

Hehehe.

Sy Norah nodded and smiled at the girl as she left. Now that SHE was gone, it was time to entertain the little, um...girls.

She said to them "Now, there are a few rules that you have to listen to while you are here. First, you can't take out anything that is in here. Second, no interfering with Jane Stan, our window lady. She doesn't take kindly to people playing pranks on her."

She asked them "Was that your mommy out there?"

for RaRaRaRaRaaaaaaachieeeee <3 (and any specialty area peeps? :))

Back at work, and one of the first places Wesley wanted to go? The Ministry Daycare. He had small kids you know, and had a feeling Izzy wanted to check this place out too. Auror instinct and all.

He walked through the Atrium and toward where he knew the Daycare was, though he had never been there. He paused just inside the white white white room and took a slow, longgg look around.

What WAS this place?!

RachieRu 02-26-2013 12:30 PM

He was right about her wanting to check the daycare out. Isobel wanted to make sure this place was all okay before she even contemplated leaving her twins there. Surprisingly she'd managed to wrestle both of them into the double buggy, and was currently pushing it towards the daycare, so that she could check it out. She kind of wanted to make sure whoever worked here could handle her boys. They were rather a handful, just like their father. Izzy wouldn't have it any other way, but she knew others found it a bit much.

"Rather white..." She murmured, glancing up at her husband after she had took a good look around. It was very white indeed. She laughed a little, noticing how the toys were all stacked very neatly. "This place won't be neat once we leave the boys here..." Oh no. Not at all.

Wes turned around at the sound of a squeaky wheel just behind him, his hand already going for his wand. Instinct you know. It was just Izzy though, and the boys.

She'd brought the boys into work today?! Wes crossed over to the stroller and squatted down, eyeing the twins for a moment. Hmm, they were both being suspiciously good. Well nothing wrong with that! Heh! He gave in to their cuteness and ruffled the soft little hair on both their heads with goofy papa grin, before looking back up at Izzy.

"Yeah that's what I was thinking," he chuckled and stood back up. "It's so... WHITE. How long before Logan and Scott mess that up?" He gave it... oh an hour.

Isobel had to laugh a little as he squatted in front of the stroller, eyeing their boys. They were being rather good today. "They're being good..." She murmured with a smile. Her sister often complained that they were never good. They usually good for Isobel, but then she was their mother. She could remember them not being too good for Wesley though, and that was quite amusing actually. She smiled, just watching the three of them interact. She loved her little family so much. They all made her so happy.

"Not long..." She murmured, leaning against the handles of the stroller a little. "I think they'll be okay here...." She decided with a nod. "It's looks good." And it was quite close to her department. She could easily come check on her little darlings, and see how much mess they were making.

"For now," Wes quipped. But they were being good, so he had nothing to complain about. He just knew how much like him they were.

He tucked his hands loosely into his trouser pockets and strolled further into the room. Maybe he should cast a few spells around, just to check things out? "I hope they stain-proofed this place," he mused aloud, coming to a halt near the storytime... corner? "Is this the nap zone?"

Wes flopped down on one of the comfy-looking bean bag blobs to test it out.

RachieRu 02-26-2013 05:34 PM

"Until we're gone..." Izzy mused with a little laugh. She'd heard that often enough. Hopefully as they got older they would behave a little more. At least when they understood her, she could attempt to get them to behave. She was sure one day with her mother would work, but there was no way she was letting them near her mother. Oh no. Not at all.

"We're wizards..." Isobel reminded him, as she pushed the stroller along. "They can just magic them away." Seemed pretty easy really. She had to laugh as he flopped onto one of the bean bags. "Looks like it..." She murmured, shaking her head a little. "But not for you dear...." Although they did look pretty comfortable.

"Exactly." Wes laughed too and watched Izzy so lovingly push the boys closer. They were at least occupied by all the whiteness of the room, too busy staring to make noises or bug each other.

"Some stains just aren't removable though. Trust me." Wes cracked another grin and waited for Izzy to get closer... a bit closer... "You sure?" He struck a pose with his hands folded behind his head. "I think you might look better down here."

Wes reached out with one of his big hands and swiped Izzy's ankle, tugging her just sharply enough to cause her to tumble toward his arms. And toward the safety and comfort of the bean bag, of course.

RachieRu 02-26-2013 05:53 PM

"They're like you..." Isobel mused with a laugh. Who knew what Trouble Wesley got up to when she wasn't there. But he was an adult, and should know that he was supposed to behave. She leant over the stroller a little, just to check on the boys. They seemed just as overwhelmed by the white like their daddy had been. Maybe a different color would've been better? The white did make it look rather clinical. Like a hospital.

"Yes....that's why I make you clean it." She smirked, locking the breaks on the stroller. The boys had a tendency to be able to make it move when they wanted too. "Pretty sure..." She mused with a grin, before he swiped at her ankle. She squealed a little, as she fell into his arms. "Wes..." She groaned, swatting at his arm a little. But it was nice and comfortable down here.

"Fergusons are Fergusons," Wes agreed, not sure what he was saying with that comment, but not really caring either. He liked having this daycare all to himself with his family. Could they keep it this way? Hmm? Maybe do an exclusive MLEr and Family daycare? He ought to speak to Greingoth about that... yeah, right...

Wes stuck out his tongue playfully and gave the stroller a little kick with his foot. Wellp, locked in place. "Look at you," he smirked, catching her as she fell, "you're becoming a real pro at this mom thing." He gave her a squeeze and a little peck on the cheek. "So how many more are we having?"

Heh. JOKING. The first two were too young to start thinking of more yet! Unless Izzy really wanted more kids. Then Wes might think about it...

"Don't I know..." Isobel mused with a laugh. She had been married to him for two years now. So she was pretty well know about Fergusons. She wouldn't change him for the world though. She loved him. "It's nice....just us four..." She mused with a smile as she looked at him. Shame it wasn't like this all the while either. Hopefully their children would be okay with having very work orientated parents.

It was a very good thing that he caught her, because she wouldn't have been very happy if he hadn't. "Of course I am. One of us has to be." She teased with a grin, though her features softened into a smile. "More?" Her eyes widened a little. Oh wow. She hadn't even thought about that. Their boys were a handful as it was. "Let's let the boys grow up a little..." And hopefully they'd behave a little more.

Then they could think of more children. Maybe.

That was true. Wes just laughed a bit loudly at that and wondered, maybe, if he was alone in wanting more kids one day? Izzy sure seemed content enough with just the four of them.... emphasis on four......

"Hey heyyy," he tickled her a little, "I'm the one who does all the cooking and cleaning." A regular Mr. Mom he was. Okay except he literally never cleaned, and only had about a half dozen recipes he was good at, but she knew. Oh she knew.

Wes rested his chin on Iz's shoulder and glanced over at the boys, who were drifting off to sleep in their comfy stroller. "Yeah, all right. They're a handful, I know." Maybe when they were older they'd be able to take care of themselves too and create less stress for their parents.

RachieRu 02-28-2013 05:26 PM

"Shush..." Isobel rolled her eyes, hushing her husband a little. At the rate he was laughing he was going to wake the boys up, and by the looks of it they were just drifting off into a nap. It was something good. The boys did not like taking their naps at all. Something Isobel didn't witness often because she was usually at work. At least they slept more at night without their afternoon nap, but they were a little more cranky in the day.

"All the cleaning?" She rolled her eyes, though she was giggling. She wasn't too impressed with the tickling. "Wes." She groaned, trying to push his hands away so she could concentrate on what she'd been saying. "You do hardly any cleaning." She still ended up doing most of it. She didn't mind though. They weren't that messy. Not really.

"Only because there's too of them really..." She mused with a shrug, as she glanced at him, a smile on her lips. She knew though, if she really thought about it she would like a little girl. "Maybe a little girl..." She mused with a smile on her face. At least then she wouldn't be the only girl.

Wes stopped tickling but still kept his arms wrapped tightly around his Izzy. His strong arms were hardly moveable by her. "I do SOME of the cleaning. I'm a better cook than you are though," he smirked. "Maybe I should send you to a cooking class for your birthday..." Right, because that was just the sort of gift every wife wanted. Heh. Luckily her birthday was still months away so he could think of a better present.

"A little girl?" he echoed her with a distant expression on his face. "You know if we had a little girl, she wouldn't be allowed to date until she was at least forty, right?"

Hopefully he knew not to get her cooking lessons. She could bake good cakes. Wasn't that enough? It was to Isobel. She liked her cakes. And she knew Wes did. He ate enough of them.

"Mmm...." She nodded with a smile. A little girl would be so perfect. "You know..." She mused, smirking at him. "If my dad did that we wouldn't even be married."

A little girl. Wes couldn't even handle the idea right now, and he was half-sorry he'd brought it up at all in the first place. "Whaaaaaat," he teased, leaning into her a little, "you mean you're not even forty yet?! I could have sworn that was the last big birthday you celebrated..."

JUST KIDDING! He knew his wife wasn't a day over 29. Or maybe it was 32. Er... 38? 35? Shoot, how old WAS Izzy...?!

"Oooh?" She murmured, smiling a little. That would be nice. She wasn't exactly looking forward to her birthday too much. She was going to be forty in a couple of years. "That would be nice." She was hoping he would do that now, she might be a little disappointed if he didn't. Or maybe she'd just make him give her a cooking lesson.

Wes having brought up the idea of a little girl was making Isobel think. A little girl would be nice, but not right now. She had a feeling that they would not be able to handle three children right now. She frowned at his words thoug. "I am not forty." She was not. She was not old that yet. She knew she wasn't. Could he not even remember how old she was now?

Though she did remember something, and smirked a little. "Dear...you are the one that's nearly forty. Not me."
