The Main Buffet

Here is it folks, the big kahuna! The line out the door was definitely worth the wait once you reach the queue leading to the Main Buffet section of the food court. Tray after tray of steaming dishes and cooled tables of salad wait for all you hungry workers. There's plenty of it to go around, too, so don't you worry. Keep in mind what you might want, because there are far too many choices to make it a last minute affair. Now what will it be, the Caesar Salad....or the steak and kidney pie? Eat up!

THIS. WAS. IT.

Mason was so ecstatic. The Food Court was finally open! And even though he wasn't even the Food Court supervisor, he was proud of all the hard work that had been done to get this place up and running. It was a lot of work and it was finally done. The Food Court was going to be a big hit; he could tell already.

Even though he no one was there yet. But he was sure they'd show up soon.

Mason stood there in his new suit, waiting for people to try out the new food buffets. He was eyeing the fettuccine already. It looked delicious. As did most of the food. Come oooon, people! It's food court time!

Getting paid to play with a Time Turner and eat food all day long? Sherman's life was the BEST.

The elderly man wheeled into the Buffet section of the new Food Court and gaped in awe. It was so big. And clean. And it smelled so scrumptious! His nose wiggled in delight as he stared at all the food before him. He steered his wheelchair in every direction, wandering around until he reached the steaming Beef Stew.. This place had stew? YUMMEH.

After helping himself to the chunky soup, Sherman headed over to the smaller tables and got himself a serving of fruit salad as well. The crippled man pulled the due seventeen sickles and and eight nuts out of his pocket and paid. The scent of the food and his hungry stomach made him want to stay right there in the Buffet area and eat. But there was an official-looking young man nearby, who Sherman could have so taken right there and then so he decided not to.

BUT IT SMELLED SO GOOOOOOD.

melanie walked quickly into the new food court that had re opened. She was slightly embarrassed that as one of the food court supervisors, she hadn't been able to stay and help out after her unexpected leave to visit on of her relatives, but here she was now, ready to help out. Taking a deep breath, she pushed open the doors to reveal the interior that the team had built.

WOW.

It was absolutely stunning. She opened her mouth in shock. Melanie could see the dessert table and the buffet table laid out before her with food that wafted towards her nose. It was impressive, she had to say that. The team did an absolutely amazing job making it look so welcoming for the employees. Maybe now it was time to help out the guests? She quickly scanned the room and found an elderly man that had just seated himself in one of the comfy chairs. Would he need some help or maybe she should just ask him how he is liking the food court so far. She walked over to the man, putting a smile on her face and sat down across from him."Hello, sir, I see you've got a nice bowl of stew there. It smells absolutely delicious! I'm one of the food court supervisors and would like to see what the employees think of it."

Heather walked into the food court and stopped to stare. Yes, STARE.

Finally. She didn't have to leave the ministry and walk into the muggle restaurants. No, she just had to take the lift right to the Atrium and then come here for break. She walked up to the buffet and stared at the items offered. Ooooh, a Cesar Salad. Yum! The lettuce looked nice and green. Croutons looking crunchy. Yes, this was the salad for her.

Moving on she found some roasted potatoes and then moved right up to pay her 17 sickles and 8 knuts for everything. She moved away from the buffet and headed to find a seat. Yes, this was nice.

Sherman was just about to wheel over to the seating area when a lady appeared in front of him and sat down. And his day was going so well.. but. He couldn't talk to her or anything, since she wasn't a child or an old crone. She was a young woman. The old man tried to keep himself from wheeling away from or and screaming in terror as the lady started to ask him questions. BUT. She wanted to see what he thought of his food.. so he was allowed to eat it in the Buffet area?! BEAM. Maybe not all scary ladies brought bad things along with 'em.

Ignoring his fruit salad, Sherman shoved a heaping spoonful of stew into his mouth. HOT. Hot, hot, hot! But it was good. He shoveled more of the chunky soup into his mouth. It started to dribble down his chin, so the old man cleaned his face up and then looked at the pretty lady. He couldn't talk to women, so he just grinned, with the stew still in his mouth, and then gave her a thumbs up. And then a salute.

That was pretty understandable, right?

Divinity straightened her apron and pulled on her gloves and got right up to where the buffet was set up... Checking each item in case it needed refilling...

Demetrius wanted to see what the deal was about this new food court and of course see if it had any good food. He did not want this trip up to the Atrium to be a waste of time. Demetrius hated wasting time, especially when he could be working on something important with Nero. But since it was his break he decided to spend it in the new food court.

He looked over the menu and spotted that there was a Dragon's Breath Soup and it was spicy. Perfect, Demetrius loved spicy food. He took a bowl, paid the 16 sickles and 25 knuts, and gave the coupon for a free drink. Which of course was some firewhiskey.

Now all he had to do was find an empty place to sit.

Ooooo, just what Dia needed; something new. Stepping into the foodcourt she was instantly stunned. This place was awesome and it now meant a shorter dsitance to full her stomach on those long days. This, she could get use to. What made it even better was just how good the food looked and smelt. Let's see...what would she try first.

O_________O how terrible would it have been if she took a bit of everything...? Resisting that spout of curiosity to try everything she settled on the chicken parmesan and handed over 16 sickles, 25 knuts; that would have to do.

With all these people already here she thought it would have been the perfect opportunity to smuggle in some 'lunch' conversation. What could she say? She liked meeting new people. Hmmm...where to sit...?

Vinnie smiled at the man acrossed the counter. She punched his meal and the coupon into the register and Took his money. " One moment while I get that firewhiskey for you, Sir." sha said before turning and getting out a cup and put two cubes of ice and poured out his beverage. " There you are ,Sir, and here's your tray..." she smiled as she slid a tray in front of him.


The next customer was a young woman that looked a bit indecisive.... Finally she gave her order as Vinnie pounched it into her register, " That'll be 16 sickles and 25 knuts, please." she said with a friendly smile. " You sure you don't want a drink... We've got extra coupons if you haven't one..." She always tried to help everyone out and she didn't see it any differently at work.

Mason saw an elderly man wheel himself into the food court. He couldn't help but watch him out of the corner of his eye as he went around to all the different foods. He looked like he was enjoying himself.

After he paid, Mason decided to strike up a conversation. He seemed like a nice old guy. "That looks like some good stew you got there. You'll have to tell me how it is so I can get some for myself." 'Cause it seriously looked and smelled delicious.

Oh she hadn't even remembered about that. Hmm...something to drink. Well she had already kept the woman waiting for quite sometime so she didn't want to stall any longer...but there were just sooo many more choices. No, she couldn't waste away her lunch hour deciding on a drink. With a sigh her mind was made up. "I'd like a lemonade if you have any." That would have been the best choice, nothing too over the top to have her buzzing all over later on.

Vinnie smiled back at the young woman, " We do in fact have lemonade..... I'll just use the coupon for the free beverage for you.... Grand opening promotion... " she said with a small flourish of the coupon as she put it in the drawer of the register... Then turned to get the lemonade... " There you are, Ma'am.... You have a good day and be sure and tell your coworkers we're open and ready for business."

Another person telling him to eat the food? WOW. His day was getting better and better.

Sherman nodded eagerly and then gulped down a steaming spoonful. "Itsf good. Weal tasfy." Yeahh. That talking-with-food-in-mouth-thing wasn't working. =w= After swallowing the stew in his mouth, the elderly man looked up at the younger one and tried again. "I mean it's good. And real tasty." Nomnomnomnomnom. "You should get some! Or some of that fettuccine over there. I was going to buy that instead, but it feels kind of like a soup-y day," he stated while skewering a piece of fruit. Hmm. He decided that he might just sped more time in the Food Court then at Mysteries. it wall a lot tastier here.

After waiting on the young woman Divinity saw an older gentleman scanning the fair along the buffet... " Hello, sir.... Might I be of any assistance... We've got a coupon for a free beverage with a meal purchase...." she said with a friendly smile...She always loved working amogst people. Maybe this position isn't so bad afterall... She thought to herself as she approached the Elder man.

He handed Izzy a plate and gestured for her to go ahead of him. If he went first, there'd be no food left.

Divinity saw a young couple heading toward the main buffet. She put on her warmest friendly smile, " Hello there... Welcome to our new food court... Just wanted to let you know about our coupons that are available... They entitle you to a free beverage with any meal purchase... I'm Vinnie. Let me know if I could be of any assistance..." she said warmly.

Why couldn't it ever be a guy that walked up to Sherman and talked? D:

Of course, Sherman couldn't talk to the lady. Why did people think old men could talk to young ladies? It didn't work that way. 'Specially when the old man was afraid of most women. The old man turned to the lady who had spoken to him and gave her a salute. "Err.. h-hi." He managed to squeak. Was that good enough? "I d-don't think I n-need any help, th-thanks." Did he really look that incapapable of things? Blush. "But I'll d-definitely take that.. err.. coupon, yeah?" YEAHH. Free stuff. Old guys liked free stuff.

Vinnie still smiling handed the gentleman a coupon... " You have a nice day, Sir. Do let me know if I could get you anything... " She was raised to respect her elders... Especially cute little old men... She smiled to herself at memories of her grandfather...

Sherman gladly took the coupon. YEAH. He was going to go get himself a juice now! Food courts were the best things ever invented, yeah? "Th-thank 'ya, ma'am!" he said. "You, too." Eating time. WOOT.

Isobel just had a small smirk on her face as she watched him. The food was distracting him. Oh she knew her husband far too well. Smiling now, she allowed him to lead her over to one of the bars. Mmm. Food. She glanced up at him, before going first. There must have been a reason for that. Now she just needed to decide what she wanted. "Lots of choice..." She mused with a nod.

Now she just needed to decide what to have. Mmm. Could she have the bacon sandwich and the chicken wrap? She was feeling quite hungry today. Deciding that was okay, she grabbed one of each, before looking up to have a see how he reacted.

"Grunt," was how Wesley replied to the friendly food court worker. No offense to the lady, but he really wasn't one that should be talked to while he was on the prowl for foods. "Got a coupon," Wes added after about a minute, tearing his gaze away from the scrumptious selections to float the one he'd picked up from the 'hangout' toward the worker. "Got one for her too."

He nudged his head toward Izzy, who was in front of him. Cuz, you know, he was payin' for the lunch.

This food court was going to prove to be baaaaad for his waistline. Probably.

Isobel eyed her husband as he talked to the nice lady who was attempting to help them. "Be polite." Come on Wesley. You can do it. She just gave him a look, and returned to looking at the food. And now he was telling her to eat more? "I know how buffets work Wes..." She mused, grinning at him. She really did.

Mmm. Potatoes. Moving up a little, she placed some onto her plate, then watching him pile food onto his own plate. "Not watching your weight then babe?" She smirked at him. She knew he had a big appetite though, and she was only joking of course.

Vinnie smiled back at the gentleman as he handed her two coupons for the free drinks, " Thankyou, Sir.... Please, if you have any questions or think of something you don't see on the buffet, don't hesitate to ask me.... I'm sure you'd find that every coulinary desire can be met."

Speaking of bad guys... well perhaps this food assistant wasn't so bad. Then again, Wes WAS mighty suspicious of how the food court employee knew he had special dietary needs. Hmmmmmm.

"Do you have any steak, miss?" he inquired as POLITELY as possible. "Any raw rare steak?"
