There's an instant coffee machine shoved off in one corner with some uncomfortable looking chairs. Once you fill out the appropriate form, thats where you'll need to wait but don't worry the chairs have been charmed to be far more comfortable than they appear.

Through the door to the left is a work area for CMEC, IUMO, MMAO and Wizengamot, as well as the magical forensics lab, a storage room, and access to the direct floos to the right you can walk through booking and interrogation to reach the viewing room and holding cells, the conference room, the dept. head's office and the Auror, MLES and Security work area. You may not enter these areas unless you are accompanied by an MLE employee.

OOC: This is where visitors are encouraged to Roleplay! While we do not have an official Receptionist yet (we will eventually!), you can be sure an employee will wander past and see to your characters needs. Our receptionist is a NPC (non-playable character) by the name of Muriel. She's efficient and quiet (because obviously theres nobody RPing her! If you address her nobody will respond.) If your character is here to visit with a DMLE employee, you can feel free to post on through to the appropriate area, (just make sure you start by coming through here!) Alternatively if you wish to create your own RP, report a crime or anything like that, feel free to PM the Department Head and we can try to figure something out for you! If nobody responds to you in due time, please send a PM or VM to one of the active employees!

Damien looked at Van and nodded his head. "Yeah. Like he would have rathered he hadn't needed us around then... Yeah. I got you," he said with a bit of MEH in his voice. He, for one, did not like being judged. Ever. It made him uncomfortable. Made him feel staunched and such... and being a free spirit like he was; that was not a good thing. Ever.

He gave a derisive sort of snort and shook his head in disgust. NO WONDER! "Well that explains it all actually... most tightly wound, self righteous group of people I have ever met in my life, the ITF," he said with a hearty tone.

Oh. Cue a quirked eyebrow. Casting a glance at Muriel he smiled. And a tip of the hat to her. Mhm. Then... his dreams were dashed. "Dream killer," he muttered and put on a pouty face.

"Well I do enjoy frying things. What you got in store for us, Chief?"

After arriving at the Ministry's Atrium via Floo network, Emily had hastilly brushed off the soot from her simple black robes and went through the security checkpoint. For some reason the Wand-weighing machine had made her feel rather uncomfortable, but she had her wand back in its holster where it belonged.

She was very excited to see what MLE had in store for her. In the dreif week she had since graduating from Hogwarts Emily had managed to secure herself an apartment in London, and spent the bulk of her free time, reading and learning as much as she could before hand. The Ravenclaw in her would never be gone, preperation, practice and persistence...

Emily let out a sigh as she reached the MLE recpetion desk and waiting area.
She hoped she was in the right place... and she wasn't supposed to be elsewhere.

She peered around, hoping to spot somebody that could help her.

Hearing footsteps behind them Damien turned and spotted ANOTHER kid. Really? Stopping short he turned and cleared his throat. "You here to report something," he asked with a light tone. Best not to scare off the poor child if she was there to report a big bad person.

Emily looked up to see a man starring at her... Hhhmm.
Clearing her throat lightly she took a few strides towards him.
"Um... no. I'm Emily Browne, I'm supposed to be starting today", she said. Hopefully this would make sense to the man. Was he her boss?... a part of her hoped not, he didn't seem particularly pleased to see her. "I'm also a new YATI trainee", she added for clarification. Best to be straight to the point, she thought to herself, taking in the appearence of the man.

Hehehe. New kid in the YATI training program. Damien smiled at her and extended his hand. "Pleasure, Emily. Damien Jackson, Head Auror. And this is Mr. Bole, Department Head," he said and stuck his thumb over his shoulder, motioning toward the mountain of a man. As if she could miss him.

Jackpot! yep she was definately in the right place. And by stroke of genius she had managed to run into the two most important people in her division. Brilliant.
"Pleased to meet you", she said shaking his hand vigorously.

She looked over his shoulders at her Department Head... Mr Evander Bole. She had heard so much about him- of course, but seeing him in person was... certainly an experience.
"Mr Bole", she said nodding her head respectfully.

Very suddenly the fact that she was employed at the Ministry and that she was a YATI trainee began to sink in. It had seemed like a dream until this point, and now it was VERY real... and very exciting. Grinning, Emily couldn't wait to see what happened next. She wondered what her training schedule was going to be like. No doubt it would be intense.

Vigorous hand shake... lots of smiling. GREAT! Another one that was all... excited about stuff. He had one of them LIVING with him already and working with TWO of them now. He might just have to start kicking kittens or something...

He turned slightly so he could see both Van and the tyke and smirked at his friend. This was going to be fun. He was already thinking about attacking the kids while they were in the loo and fun things like that. Hehe. They would be little soldiers by the time Damien Jackson was finished with them. MWAHAHA.

Laurie walked into the office with her heels clacking against the tile floor. Looking up from her stack of folders in her hand which she'd been reading the first one intently she stopped just in time to keep herself from running into the group standing in her path. "Good morning everyone," she said though it was pretty obvious she had been there a good while already.

"Still, I suppose we might learn a thing or two from them as a whole, and its their problem if they aren't willing to do the same." Van mused, sparing a nod for Muriel.

"Don't worry," Van commented dryly, "If Tate wants an auror, I'll send him you." And he could take along his little duckies to get their feet wet.

"More of the same." Grunt. "Kidnappings, break-ins, a couple of possible murders." You know, nothing out of the ordinary.


Being the other one, this would have to be Emily Browne. Van nodded in greeting but grinned at her.

"You can call me Evander, you're not at Hogwarts any more, Emily."


"Working hard I see." Van said by way of greeting, having heard Laurie coming before seeing her. She was certainly deserving of her promotion. "Anyone else here yet?" You never knew with those lawyer types, he wouldn't be surprised if some of them slept in the courtrooms.

THAT chick annoyed him. Most of the time. And really they had only interacted that once and MEH. "Morning," he muttered and tipped his hat at her reluctantly.


"Yeah. I have never met one I was too keen on though," he said in his drawl as he shot a naughty little wink at Muriel when Van wasn't looking. Heh.

Okay. Dreams mended. With duct tape and glue and such, but you know. It was all better. Smiling a bit he nodded his head. That was all he NEEDED to do.

"Same MO then? This makes me so happy... I could burp up rainbows," he said dryly and in a low mutter.

"Morning", replied Emily instinctively.. though on looking at the woman she had no idea who it was. No matter, manners were mannaers after all.

Feeling a bit silly Emily smiled, "Of course... Evander", she said. Quickly she made a mental note: Not at Hogwarts........................
Still she did think she was just ebing respectful. No matter, the more relaxed, casual approach was comfortable. This would after all... be her new home (more or less).

The new setup had hardly caused much of a reaction from Dorian as he'd arrived that morning. Probably earlier than most, but he'd been too occupied to sleep. The nightmares, thankfully, hadn't been back ever since the last owl he'd sent to Italy, but the other goings-on had kept his mind working. Not in the least certain notices that had appeared, regarding changes on level one. As long as it didn't filter down here, he'd be fine, and he had faith MLE could withstand anything thrown at them anyhow.

Slipping out for an espresso, he found himself returning to hear the question to Laurie from Evander and regarded the man for a moment. "Morning," he finally said, nodding at the others as he noted the young one then took a sip from his coffee cup. They got younger every year, or perhaps he was finally catching up to his age. Watchmen wouldn't let him get entirely old, though, and the graphic novel was safely back in his desk drawer like it had been before the Ministry overhaul. "Warn me before that happens," he said dryly to Damien as the auror spoke of burping up rainbows. Even hypothetically, that was just entirely too bizarre.

Laurie turned to Evander and nodded, "Have you seen the load of casework that came across my desk practically over night?" Seriously...she never understood why they arrested every little person who committed a crime. It wasn't like she was going to prosecute them all. Deciding to give her eyes a break she closed the folder and ran her hand over her eyes tiredly, "No, not yet. Though I've been down getting coffee and looking over these for awhile."

She looked at Damien and simply raised her eyebrow, "Nice to see you too Damien." She could still see he was a bit bitter about her criticisms on his work. Oh well. He annoyed her anyway because he thought he knew everything.

Smiling at the girl she held out her hand, "I'm sorry. I'm Laurie Henderson, Wizarding Director of Prosecution." Yup PROMOTION! It still made her grin slightly.


Laurie turned to look behind her and spotted Dorian, "Morning." She glanced over her shoulder toward the office where her desk was and debated whether to continue working or take a bit of a break.... Didn't Hunter say something about her needing to relax? So, a few minutes wouldn't hurt to mingle with the office people.

"Morning", she replied as the man joined the group. Emily at this point was beginning to wonder how many people she was going meet in the course of the morning... and how many names she would ahve to remember.

New job.... nay... A job= new faces.

"Nice to meet you.... Emily Browne, YATI trainee", she said shaking the womans hand. Wizarding Director of Prosecution... impressive.

"Morning, everyone" Alicia smiled as she walked into the room her blond hair pulled back into a clean pony tail - something easy. She looked around the reception area, a soft smile on her lips.

"Hello Damien," she smiled as he was one of the only people she'd met at the party for Berty Borr months before, she was trying to be nice - even though she was especially nervous at the moment. She rubbed the back of her neck nervously as she took a sip of her coffee it was almost too scalding to drink but she didn't mind she liked that.

When she heard the girl infront of her introduce herself as a new person she smiled, "Hi Emily? Nice to meet you, I'm Alicia Devereaux new Ministry Jurisprudent within Wizengamot"

Damien gave a snort and shook his head at Dorian. Did he take that literally? You know... perhaps there was a charm or something... he would be looking into it. "I will be sure to let you know," he said with a pleased grin. Hehee. 'Cause when he figured out how to do it... he was going to show everyone. All the time.


Damien chewed the inside of his cheek and nodded his head. Yep. Lovely to see her. NOT. All of her little quips about him not doing things right... had clearly been her own jealousy that he was better than her at something she was convinced she knew everything about. Hehe. Head Auror over here. Clearly he had done SOMETHING right.

Oh man and she was pretentious... the whole title. Pffft. Nevermind that he had JUST done the same thing. Hehe.

Oh and this one too. He wasn't SURE about her. Smiling slightly he tipped his hat at her, though. "Morning." He did not remember... good thing she said her name.

And into the vault it went. He would remember it now. Probably.

Dorian nodded again as the new girl returned his greeting. That was more than he'd truly expected, but then, perhaps the new people were trying to be more polite. he would have done that, but then he wasn't new anymore. He did give the girl a faint smile, though, but held back in saying anything more as yet another girl entered the area. It seemed reception was a busy place. And the new blonde knew Damien, so she must not have been entirely unfamiliar. There had always been that party, of course, but then he'd been stuck at check-in.

"Morning," he said in reply, taking another sip of espresso before turning his attention back to Miss Browne as well as the newcomer. Miss Devereaux, he noted. "Dorian Tamerlane. CMEC chief inspector," he said, still not elaborating. Everyone else had established their titles, so he might as well. As far as he remembered, nobody from his area had shown up yet. It would happen, and at least he'd have the caffeine in his system when it did.

Now Damien was another story, and Dorian raised an eyebrow at the snort. No, he hadn't taken it seriously, but then, if the other man didn't understand sarcasm, that wasn't his problem. The idea had seemed to catch the pirate's mind, though. Working here was definitely not dull. "I don't doubt that," he replied, giving him a slightly less iluminating smile than he'd gotten. Something told him they'd have rainbows floating around here eventually.

And it was time to get to work, again. Man he wished he could be sleeping in, but as a new employee, at least of this department, it would not do to make a bad impression. And in his mind being late meant you were giving a bad impression.

Walking into the reception area Skander noticed a few people were standing around and talking, obviously he wasn't late then. He was just in time to hear someone introduce themselves as the ministry jurisprudent, which if he remembered correctly would mean that he would need to work closely with the woman. Therefore he should at least say hello to these people.

"Morning all," Skander said as he neared the group.

Emily turned as she heard yet another person enter the reception area.
A tall blonde woman stood there smiling at her. She seemed friendly enough.
"Yes, Emily... pleasure to meet you Alicia."

There was something familiar about this woman, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what it was.

Emily nodded. Dorian... yet another name to add to her list.

And another?!... Emily smiled only to keep herself from laughing. Though really she shouldn't have expected anything different.
"Morning", she replied politely.

On a positive note- Emily had a feeling there was never going to be a dull moment at the Ministry. She loved MLE already.

"Might be a first." Pause. "This is me giving the guy the benefit of the doubt for Lily's sake. They're friends." He wasn't entirely sure he trusted his girlfriend's taste as far as friends went. Though Lexi Carlton had been okay he supposed.

"Yes and no. I'm beginning to think... theres a couple seperate cases going on here. The trick is picking out the ones that are linked. We'll chat on it later." Yeah after Damien had got B1 over here settled in, and B2 if the kid showed up.


"Its alright, you'll know when the whole Mr. thing is more appropriate. Usually if you're trying to make some kind of sarcastic point." Wink. "Or something like that... Miss Browne."

Okay he was messing with her a bit, but seriously, Evander was good.


"Dorian." Another coffee fiend. It was a MLE thing apparently. Especially for the older ones.

"It'd make a good distraction, this rainbows business." Operation Burps and Rainbows. Mental note.

... the caffeine was getting to him. Clearly.


"Orders are orders, Laurie." Evander smiled bitterly. Yeah. New legislation, new leadership, it meant that anyone getting in the way of the cult was getting arrested right along side those cult members that they could actually pin with a crime.

Snakey blighters, it was hard to make anything stick.


Evander nodded in an absent kind of greeting. The day was getting on and... well. He had an interview.

One he wasn't entirely sure he was looking forward to.


"Morning." Van nodded at the transfer. A gooder. He had hopes for the guy.

"If you'll all excuse me."

Evander yawned and headed past them, to his office.

Something stronger than coffee would be GOOD right about now.

Alicia smiled over to everyone, she was very very nervous right now her mind was running so quickly and she'd only had one sip of coffee yet. "Pleasure to meet you Dorian, Emily," she smiled happy to be in a new department it was nice really having a large area to work in than before. She did make a note to visit her old department later.

She twisted a section of hair nervously and gave everyone a smile - yes Ali was all smile right now, mainly painstakingly nervous looking ones but those were still smiles none the less. "If you guys want you can call me Ali," she smiled.

Turning to Emily, she gave her a quick smile, "Emily right? I've got a really off question, did you go to Hogwarts with a girl who called herself Kyle?" She asked smiling nervously if not it was just that there was another girl name Emily out there that her niece had told her about becoming friends with.

She returned Evander's nod with a nice smiled added she was happy to be out of level five really.

Part of her was feeling very nervous. She hadn't had a interview for anything for 10 years, and then she'd been young, and very excited. It had been no wonder she'd got the spot on the international task force. But now...she was older, and some what less excited. It was probably because she was back in dreary England. But now...she was at least attempting to get the job that she had actually trained for. It would be pretty good to put the skills she'd learnt into action, make the trainig worthwhile.
Ahh. There seemed to be quite a lot of people around. That was interesting. Didn't they have jobs to do? Well at least someone could like point her in the direction of the department head's office. "Ermm...excuse me?" Any of you will do. "I've got an appointment with the department head." Whom she had no clue who it was.

Yes well. Aren't you a ray of sunshine? He liked Dorian better when he had been an Auror. Much easier to get along with... clearly.

Another one all chipper and stuffs. WOOOO. -_-

Hmm. Girlfriend was pals with the HM. Well. He thought better of Pretty Healer Lady than to keep company with ITF employees. Seriously.

"Got it. Later. Ima go to the work areas, it's crowded out here. Look at Muriel, she doesn't know what to do..." he said in a low voice for only Van to hear.

"We can chat over lunch, Mr. Bole, sir," he said a bit louder and then snickering he turned back to the group that had congregated there... no thank you. Too many people made him twitchy and such.

"'Scuse me. I'll be headed out too. Good seeing y'all," he said in his best fake voice. Well... it had been an experience. Not one he wanted to repeat right away. Perhaps he could just Disillusion himself and sneak past everyone in the mornings. THAT was a great idea actually.
For the love of all things Merlin... they were all coming out of the WOODWORK today. Hearing the lady speak he made a noise at her and POINTED the way to the office. Yep. "Out in that hall. Second door on the right," he said as he walked past her to get to his work area.

"How is everyone this morning? I'm Skander by the way and a Ministry Legislator for the Wizengamot," he was going to add more when he heard another person voice.

Turning as yet another person walked into the atrium Skander smiled at the newcomer. "You just missed him, he's in his office right now, which is down there," Skander informed her, gesturing in the direction his boss had disappeared in. He was trying to appear friendly and welcoming as the woman looked nervous. Maybe she had an interview with Evander. In which case Skander would have been nervous too, he hated job interviews, although at least his time as a Division Head had given him confidence while in interviews, and in his actual abilities as a serious ministry employee.
