Main Work Areas ( March 2011 - Jan 2014) Department Map The main work areas is a large, open office, with dividers and desk clusters providing some semblance of order to the chaos. The room is carpeted in a soft green throughout, with several Persian rugs and plushy carpets scattered here and there for colour and focus. When you walk in through the main doors coming from the reception and foyer area, there is a waiting area to one side. If you have visitors they are welcome to sit here, or employees may take a coffee break in this corner. There are plenty of magazines provided, most of them are related to the work we do in the department of course --Achievement in Charming, Transfiguration Today, The Potioneer's Gazette, The Daily Prophet-- There is also a watercooler and right next to that, a fish tank with some tropical fish within it.

Gavin had to admit as he stepped off the lifts he felt he should be used to the reshuffling having been here at the ministry when the last redo had been completed. That had been a change when they had gone from separate offices to the large work area with cubicles. However he wasn't fully prepared for the changes present as he looked around where he was dropped off and later moved into the main work space. Out of longstanding habit he almost walked to the now purple area, the workstations designated as for the Experimental Committee. The charms worker having worked 4 years within the given division though he luckily caught himself before he walked too far. Nope...not anymore. He corrected himself turning his head to look for the Obliviator Division and finding it nearly right in front of him and charmed blue. At least it was a nice color he admitted to himself, but Gavin couldn't help thinking that with the division so near the door he was going to be doing a lot of assisting visitors. Not that he begrudged it and he certain was used to it over the years. Finding a desk whose position in the grouping that was to his liking, he slipped his coat from over his arm and hung it on the back of his chair and placed his bag on the floor as he tried to decide what to do. Gavin finally sat down in his chair looking around in the empty room as he awaited his fellow employees, sighing as he remembered Tasha wouldn't be around. |
Frida gave a small yawn and stretched her arms as she stepped out of the lifts. She was carrying a briefcase in her left hand, and was wearing a rather tired look on her face. Adela, her baby daughter, had been rather fussy overnight and prevented both her mother and father from getting a good night's rest. 'Comes with the responsibility of being a parent.' Frida thought with a tiny smile as her heeled shoes clacked on the floor as she walked. Despite it's challenges, Frida wouldn't trade being a mother for anything else. Frida entered the newly arranged work area and stopped in the doorway for a moment. 'It's...so...different.' A 'Senior Obliviator' badge glistened from it's place on the front of Frida's robes as the woman approached the blue area of the room. And with a feeling of familiarity, greeted the only other person in the room. "Good morning, Gavin." She chose the desk to the left of her fellow co-worker and placed her briefcase on the tabletop; beginning to unpack. There was a soft sound of a clock ticking off towards the opposite corner of the room, and Frida gave a snort of a laugh. "Quiet enough in here for you? What do you think of the new arrangements?" As Frida unpacked a few thick books from her bag, she furrowed her brow a little and looked at Gavin again. "Shouldn't you be over yonder? I can't have you seeing anything confidential." She tilted her head in the direction of the purple section. |
Gavin looked back up as he heard the door open, smiling as he spotted Frida pause herself inside the new digs. As a fellow long term department member she was also bound to remember all the previous changes they had been through as well as the disasters they had faced in the old digs. "Good morning," he greeted with a smile. "Shuuuu you know as well as I do how quickly that can change in an instant especially in this department," he replied with a laugh. The man turning in his chair and leaning back casually since they were the only ones there already. "Its nice enough...at least no bright orange and neon pink desks," he commented with a shrug. Gavin continued to watch her absently as she moved to settle stuff on her desk wondering if he should say anything or let her figure stuff out on her own. "What would you do if I did....erase my memory?" he asked with a raised eyebrow hiding the amusement of his surprising news. "Cause that might be bad seeing as I can't exactly implant a new memory into my own head." |
Quote:
"I'm afraid I might have to, Gavin. Comes with the job I'm afraid." She flicked her wand and two small wire bins appeared. One had the word 'In', while the other had the word 'Out' labeled on the front of them. 'Can't implant a new memory into his own head. What a silly man.' Frida chuckled a tiny bit and added, "That'd be a great trick if you could, Gavin." She found a list of Level Three employees located in the first drawer of her desk and began to flip through it...firstly taking a peek at the 'Blue' employees. Spotting a VERY familiar name, Frida looked up at Gavin, then to the paper again, then at Gavin, then the paper...though she remained quiet. 'But...this must be a mistake...surely...?' Hmm. |
"Actually I was thinking of a runaway pink guinea pig but either of those two scenes would work just as well," Gavin remarked with a laugh as he added his hands behind his head. He had decided to wait patiently for his friend to figure things out, even brave enough to risk the almost-memory wipe she threatened him with. His gaze at the ceiling for a moment, he hadn't taken note of the file in her hand at first but when Frida kept glancing between it and him repeatedly he could almost see a lightbulb going off over her head. Gavin couldn't help but smile before moving his hands from behind his head and straightening. "Perhaps I need to reintroduce myself. Gavin McNally....reminiscator of the Obliviator division," he spoke holding out a hand almost teasingly. |
Emerald Skye walked in to the large work area. Ahhh...it's great to be back again. She took a seat at the blue area work space with a cup of hot coffee in her hands. She suddently felt that she needs someone to talk to, to chatter with. But first, Emmy needs to meet someone. After all, she is new to this department. She used to work in Magical Creatures, and loved it there. Now that Emmy transfered, she felt a bit loney. And she's not so sure if she'll get use to this new department. Emerald took a piece a blank paper and doodled on it. She looked back her shoulder once in a while to see if there's anyone to talk to. She can't wait to start her new job! |
"Mhm." Frida agreed quietly. In all honesty, that rodent incident was pretty amusing...even now it made her smile. 'Since WHEN!?' Frida thought so loudly she was surprised nobody else could hear it. Her jaw slackened a little bit and she set the employee list down on the desktop in front of her. "Why didn't you TELL me?" Okay, so maybe it wasn't really her business...oh wait, yes it was. She was working with Gavin now, in the same division. It wasn't like he was off in a seperate area doing a different case or something. "How long have you known this? Has Tasha kept it a secret as well?" Badgering the man might help get some answers. Or he could freeze up and not say anything....Grrrr. Frida gazed up as another employee walked into the room, and like Frida and Gavin, took a seat within the blue cluster. 'Hmm.' Frida peered down at the employee list again as the newcomer began to jot something down or whatnot. Her pale eyes skimmed over the list, but there were a couple names Frida did not recognize...so one must belong to this new girl. "Good morning." Frida said politely to the woman and extended her right hand in greeting. "I'm Frida Brown, Senior Obliviator." 'Level Three, Accidents and Catastrophes...' Good thing she remembered to not say that bit aloud. |

She then noticed her silly doodles and hastily put them away. |
Gavin couldn't help but chuckling at her reaction, the slacked jaw breaking down the fight. "Because my dear Frida, I wanted to surprise you," he replied shaking his head in amusement. Think of it as payback for your and Sam's surprise visit, he mused to himself with a smile. "Not long and yes she had...kind of... I hadn't been sure it would go through to be honest," he admitted. The charms worker having put in for the transfer but had been worried with all the changes and such that it may have gotten lost over time or refused. "But after 4 years of experimenting figured it was time to actually use the skills again." Noting the other employee enter the space, Gavin quietly watched as she sat down within the division's area as well. He glanced at Frida but let her handle things first and foremost seeing as she was the senior worker there, only speaking again once the woman ackknowledged his companion. "Gavin McNally Reminiscator...welcome to the department." |
"Pleasure to meet you, Emmy." Frida said kindly with a nod. "An Obliviator? Lovely. Always good to meet another team member. I've been the Obliviator head for a few years...though they consider me a Senior one now. You've had training I take it?" Frida gave her wand another swish and her glass case filled with sweets levitated out of the briefcase and into Frida's hands. 'Can't forget you now can we?' She set the attractive container at the far left of her desk space. Frida stopped when Gavin replied to her. "Your dear?" She raised a brow, the only people who called her that were her mother, her father, her crazy aunts, or her husband. 'So Tasha did...sort of...know.' "I'll bring it up to Tasha later." Dun dun duunnnnn! "I thought you were able to use your abilities quite frequently in your previous job? Or have I been blissfully ignorant?" Four years without using much of one's skills would drive Frida insane. |
"What....?" Gavin asked all innoscent like as she repeated his choice of endearments catching himself in realization. "Sorry, Tasha's been rubbing off on me. "Malachi's not gonna pop up and be annoyed at me is he?" he mused with a touch of jest seeing as he knew how the older man indeed was and not a violent one at that. "True...let em correct myself. Use yes...." he said motioning with one had for emphasize. "Get out of the office much...no," he added motioning with the other hand. Gavin tended to be the one staying behind whenever Tasha, Dan or Frida and their divisions needed to go out on a call. "Actually got pulled into a case by the Hogwarts headmaster at the Borr Party," he remarked in rememberance. |

Oooh! Candy! Emerald reached for them before she realized. "Umm...are we allowed to have these?" Say yes. Say yes. Say yes. |
Charlotte was both excited and nervous. Excited because today she was starting her job at the Ministry. Nervous because today she was starting her new job at the Ministry. She was glad she had gotten a job she would probably enjoy; Charlotte loved Charms. She was looking forward to starting; but she was also nervous, as previously stated. When she walked in to the room Char saw that there were already a few people in the room. She smiled shyly at them. "Hello," Charlotte said to them. "My name is Charlotte Reynolds." |

"Good point there." Frida agreed. "My team was called out an awful lot when muggles saw too much." And too much usually meant 'anything at all'. "Ah well...this time'll be different then won't it?" More FUN surely. Quote:
Caught somewhat off-guard by Emmy's sudden action, Frida blinked a couple times. "I--yes, you may have one." Slight emphasis on the word 'one'. Quote:

It was his first day at a new department for him. It was odd. He was not used to changes like these, although considering the many good chances he'd get at this department and the division he was placed in. So, nope...he had no complaints at all. He was going to like the new job. Upon entering the desk area, Cristobal looked around him. He glanced at the clusters, which were colour coded and although it took a walk to find the division clusters, he set his work suit on a chair and his box with his things on an empty desk. Sigh... Time to work. And smile. |

"Four years?" Impressive. Emerald's attention turned to Gavin's desk, where he set a photo of him and someone else. "Who's that?" Emmy hoped that wasn't too rude. Quote:
"Thanks," Emerald said, returning a smile. "But you don't really need to. I'll find it myself after a little while. But thanks anyways!" There's no need to busy other people. A little look at the map and she'll be fine. Yay! Emmy took a coconut chocolate from the pretty container. "Thanks." She said. Then put the chocolate in her purse and decided to eat them later. The newbie thought of something else. "So what's it like working here?" Emmy asked curiously. Quote:
"Hi, I'm Emerald Skye. I'm new here. You too?" She asked casually, waiting for the employee's reply. |
First day at work. Chris didn't complain to have a job, but if that meant to wake up early then yes, he will. He didn't know what to expect of this new job but was excited to work at the Ministry and so his family was. He walked into the work area with a cup of coffee on his hand, something had to wake him up and coffee was perfect for that job. There were people already in the room, he placed his stuff on an empty desk, "Good morning!" he said to them smiling and introduced himself "I'm Chris, Scourgify specialist" he took a sip from his coffee before continuing and placed it on the table "So, how's everyone?" he asked. He was in a good mood but just because it was first day, next time he might not be feeling this happy. |

He wondered what the first task with the charms team Nils would be completing soon enough with new friends he would make.A feeling of excitement and nervousness washed over him like a wave just splashing his face . |
Daphne Hopton would have loved to say she had patiently waited for her first official day of work. Unfortunately, patience wasn't something she was often familiar with. She had never found a use for it. Having been raised as an only child up to the age of thirteen with nannies and a personal valet to do her bidding had spoiled her. The damage hadn't been done entirely, however, as the young woman did like to do many things on her own as she found no one did the job quite as perfect as she would have wanted them to do. Being someone who strove for perfection, Hopton had practiced Memory Charms in the absence on work, relying on trustworthy friends with particular talents to help her hone the required skills for the job of a Junior Obliviator. The blond didn't think she was quite near perfection as she would like and was prepared to train harder in order to reach it, even it resulted in several more nosebleeds from her part. Arriving at the Ministry had been easy. She lived in a flat in Muggle London, although had been looking to move out, and the route to the Ministry hadn't been complicated at all after looking at a map. Daphne had arrived a little later than she would have liked. The crowd was uncomfortable to weave through in order to get into the lift that would take her to the third level but it was something she was willing to bear. The warmth of the home brewed tea in her thermos comforted her and Daphne squeezed her fingers tighter around it as she stepped off the lift. The Magical Accidents & Catastrophes Department was quite bustling already. Several employees, all veterans for what Daphne knew, were circling their desks, speaking amicably to each other. Some; however, did appear to be slightly nervous or hesitant, keeping a close and comfortable distance from others. "Good Morning," greeted the blond, her hazel eyes falling from face to face. Although they had no names yet, they'd be saved in her memory bank for later recollection. "Oh, everything is color coded," observed Hopton in a clear voice. There were different clusters of desks, some blue, some green, sadly no pink. She touched the back of one blue chair with her free hand. "My name is Daphne Hopton. It seems I'll be troubling some of my seniors as a Junior Obliviator. I hope we can get along in spite of this." |

Moving to arrange the rest of his desk as he lefy Frida to deal with the issues brought up, an eye on her as if just in case she decided to jump the junior official, the reminscator looked up once more as attention was returned to him. "My girl friend," he answered, supplying the information for one question as he debated the other. "Busy and crazy sometimes...quiet and suspecious at others." Quote:

To Macavity Nice name- very original -like the man you are."Nils said winking at the more tall and organized, well put looking man. I hope to become very good employees and friends with you all. I am more then ready to see what the job has to offer to me and the Wizarding and Non Wizarding community in terms of protection against spells."Nils concluded nodding his head at the older division leader. |
