It seemed it was rather slow in the waiting area at the moment, but she wasn't about to parade through the cubicles, waving her clipboard of survey questions under everyone's noses.

Instead, Laura signed the visitor's log and took a seat, happy to be off her feet for a bit. She figured someone would be out shortly to see to her, and then she could ask a receptionist or someone if she could grab a handful of employees to survey.

As Gabi was interviewing her apparition student, another woman entered the area. She certainly didn't look like she was here to take an Apparition exam. She looked like she was here on business. OFFICIAL business.

"Hello, Gabriela Schultz - Department Head. Can I help you?" she asked the woman with a smile, even though she was secretly exhausted and wanted to tell her to just scram and come back later.

"No, no, I have time for a quick chat," Gabi said with a smile, even though really she DIDN'T. But, the way Gabi looked at it, the sooner she got STUFF out of the way, the less she had to do later. She could relax in her office, curl up with a coffee and Witch Weekly, and enjoy her days in the office without stress!

"Here, please finish filling out this questionnaire," she said with a smile to her apparition student. She then turned back to the Environment...lady, whatever her name was again, and smiled. "Alright, it was a survey, you said?"

What were they doing to be GREEN? Gabi was a bit confused at first, but then remembered that since this was an ENVIRONMENT lady, she was talking about recycling and stuff. Well, that was a bit hard to think of. It's not like they worked with gasoline powered brooms or anything. After thinking a few seconds, she came up with a good answer.

"Well, the most obvious way we're being green is simply the fact that all our forms of transportation - brooms, magic carpets, all that stuff - is run on magic. Muggles use that awful, dirty gasoline stuff, and it pollutes the environment. By providing our community with magic based transportation, we are eliminating the harmful effects of gasoline on the environment," she said with a smile.

"Now what we COULD be doing...well, I suppose we could recycle more," she said, thinking of the pile of Witch Weekly's she had sitting on her desk that were piling up every week. "And throw out more unused documents to save trees or something," she said with a shrug.

Laura jotted down the department head's answers as she listened to them come in a hurried hand, nodding here and there at what Ms. Schultz was saying. She had gotten more in-depth about how her department was handling things more than others she had spoken to, who had preferred to speak on their own behalves, but it was nevertheless useful information, Laura supposed. "Excellent. Thank you for your time, Ms. Schultz. I know you must be a busy woman," she said, packing up her clipboard and whipping out a flier to hand to the department head.

"Have a good day," she added with a grin as the woman packed up. Yes, that was your cue to leave. Busy Gabi has things to do!

Impromptu visit. It is being spontaneous and exciting. Zach just hoped the Department head is around and not so busy to have a chat.

Zach sat down an empty chair and waited to be helped. He is very curious about this department especially about the incidents with the Floo network and the Apparition tests for the students of Hogwarts.

He then listened to the plans of the Transportation Department regarding the testing system for Apparition. He nodded and said, "That sounds like a solid plan! Is there any way that the Minister's Office can assist you with those agenda?" he said hoping the Department Head will ask for some help for the upper tier.

Regardless, he seemed to have more questions for her - in case this happens AGAIN? Did he really think Gabriela Schultz would allow this to happen again on her watch??

"Well, for one, we are working with Floo-Pow to assure that their powder undergoes a much more intensive regulation test before it is shipped to wizarding families and to stores," she explained. Oh yes, that Floo-Pow exec who'd oked the batch had no choice but to agree to that one. Gabi had made sure of that.

"And as for an emergency plan, if for some reason Floo-Pow DOES allow faulty powder to be shipped, we now know exactly what happens if the floo powder is defective. White flames, ending up in the wrong country - those are both huge warnings that the POWDER is defective. If any reports of those incidents come in, we know to recall the powder immediately to prevent any further confusion," she explained. Floo was, unfortunately, one of the least stable forms of transportation - anything from faulty powder to a mispronounciation could cause a malfuction!

Ah, onto the Apparition stuff...she tapped her chin as she thought. "As of this moment, no. We are working with Maintenance over the Christmas break to do some restructuring on our level to make a 'classroom' area and basically combine practical and written exams into one," she explained. Yes, her brain child was in process of becoming reality!

Now, it is more job related. He stepped from the lifts and into the waiting area.

He looked around and smiled as he said, "Good day, I am Zach McMillan and I am here to meet with the Department Head Newell, please." he said looking very energetic and enthusiastic.

As in as long as he had THIS job, he was no longer a Healing student.

"So what brings you in today?" he asked.

Zach smiled and inhaled reminiscing his healer-training days. "I almost finished being a healer, but fell a year short because some opportunities are better than others." he said thinking about the day when his dad came to the US as he was going for the entrance examination as a lawyer and was offered a job as a researcher at the same time. And he was then given a special gift.

As for the purpose of his official visit. It is purely Ministerial matter. "Will it be alright if we talk about it in your office?" he said politely.

Isabel walked into the waiting room, her stomach still churning a bit from the ice cream. She walked up to the desk, forcing her features into a calm, serene stare. She picked up the quill next to the list and wrote her name at the bottom in her beautiful script. She stood there and waited for the polite witch to assist her.

Despite the fact that there was total and utter CHAOS in the level at the moment, Cale could not ignore the little bell that dinged whenever someone was in the waiting area. It was a nifty charm he'd put into place when he became Department Head, since none had existed before.

"Hello, may I help you?" he asked, slightly out of breath as he greeted the visitor.
