His first ever meeting as a Department Head meant that Bryce was slightly more nervous and jittery than usual. Maybe it was because of all the caffeine he had had. Three cups of coffee before 9am? That was a recipe for disaster. Whatever his body seemed to think, it was still worth it; the place now seemed more... homey. Welcoming with its comfortable chairs and a plant in a pot that sat near the window. Two pots, one with coffee and another with tea, and some mugs sat in the centre of the table, along with plates of biscuits, croissants, scones and various other pastries. Two packets of tissues sat near the plates, in case anyone had a spill.

You never know.

Apart from the food, Bryce had also managed to grab a couple of copies of a particular article, which sat in a neat pile next to him. It was interesting, to say the least. Something he was sure his employees would be happy about seeing. Or not, if they were like the worried parents that had been sending him numerous messages.

The Department Head was seated in a chair at one end of the table, leaning back and currently munching on a chocolate croissant. Another cup of coffee sat near him but he had enough willpower to not take another sip for a while. Of course he did.

Maybe.

After a cup of coffee in the office area, Ronnie was a bit more awake than she had been, and she was in a great mood. She was eager to meet the new Department Head and get to know and be around everyone else in the department. She had gotten up earlier than normal and had put good effort to make herself look nice. Smoothing out her skirt, the red head made her way into the conference room. Once she was inside, she noticed a man sitting at the table. Looked like it was just her and him for now!

"Good morning," she said with a cheerful smile. "You must be the new Department Head. I'm the personal assistant. Veronica Hawkins. But you can call me Ronnie." she introduced herself with a small nod as she took a seat at the table.

Alex made sure to have her coffee this morning, albeit not more than one cup as she didn't want to be TOO hyper when meeting the new department head for the first time. The real question was - was it a male or a female? She heard the name was Bryce, but that could go either way ... personally she was half hoping the new head was female. Males could be tricky ~~and good looking~~. Plus, she was kind of in a relationship and she kind of liked him a lot, so yea, female or uncute male would work? Or maybe he'll just be really old or really young.

Or maybe he'll just be ... a he. Entering the conference room, she noticed Ronnie and a male already sitting, eating a CROISSANT?! And he didn't even bring for the rest of them? How rude!

Nonetheless polite smile from the climate controller as she took a seat. "Hello, morning!" she greeted, despite the lack of food for them. "I'm Alexandria Hadley. Climate controller." So be nice or she could make uncontrollable rain in his office?

SOOO what in the world was the PEST REMOVER doing here?! Ember walked in a VERY calm and orderly fashion into the room. It was a JOINT conference room, after all, so she DID have a right to be here. Hm. Check this out--the new Environmental Head was here! Ember had to contain her excitement. Meeting new people...well, it made her VERY excited.

So she wasn't in the department...well...ssooooo? Ember wanted to know what was going in with them ANNNNDDD maybe help input? She was ver knowledgable, you know. And NOT just on animal stuffs. *NODNOD*

The new head was very handsome. VERY Handsome. But then again, so were all of the men in her OWN department--Oh, the old man, William, yep, he was cute for an old guy. Hehe. Not that Ember thought he was particularly old--just older than she was. Then again, she was one of the youngest in her department.

The twenty-one-year-old tried not to draw attention to herself. What if the head had familiarized himself with the employee files? Would he KNOW she didn't BELONG here?! She just smiled and waved and tried to remain--a ninja--you know, blue haired girls make SUCH great ninjas?! Ha! Not! Maybe Ember should have word a hood or something. There was another vibrantly haired girl in here. Bright red. Ember adored it. So cute. SUCH CUTE.

Okay, she was getting excited. Her mother often compared Ember to a Chihuahua. Small and easily excited. Though, Ember was much smarter than those doggies. YEP.

And oh...that woman from reception before--SHE KNEW EMBER DIDN'T BELONG. So she quickly tuuuurned around--DANG HAIR--and just tried to NOT talk to Alex. Right right RIIIIIGHT. She whistled a little tune...totes belongs here, y'allllllll!

Coffe and tea. She wondered what would happen if she mixed both. Had that ever been done before?! WHAT IF SHE DISCOVERED SOMETHING GR--and she had to settle down again. Taking deep breaths, she just tip-toed over to the refreshments, as if she wasn't the sore thumb in the room, and snatched up a cup--real quick like--and nodded at the male. Right. Nothing to see here, sir.

Ah so their meeting was today. Jasmine made a note in her calendar to come here extra early. She arrived just right on time. She noticed Alex and Ronnie were here already. She smiled at both of her ladies. She then noticed her head was here. Hmm he seemed confident with his position. But there was no food here? Hmm....disappointing. She was quite hungry. But she did have her coffee. She was thankful for that. No headaches that is for sure. As she walked over to him, she nodded towards him and said, "Jasmine Lenkim. Environmental Permitting Officer." Just incase he wanted to know.

She took her seat and noticed a new girl she never seen before enter the room. Wondered who she could be?

Oh well would you look at that? He took the some time off from his daily routine in the office to officially meet the new Department Head of the Environmental Division, and it seems that he’s not in? At this hour? Max didn’t like it when people were late. And this guy…he’s got issues and concerns regarding the status of his old school up the hill, and he’s got his nephew stuck inside it.

Poor kid. The whole family’s definitely worried by now, seeing that Mordred has sent word to everyone about the situation in Hogwarts. Max will not rely on the Daily Prophet this time, and would very much appreciate it if he could get information from the source of the solution himself.

Seeing that most of the employees were heading towards another room, Max followed suit and sneakily snuck his way towards their conference room. Automatically of course, he made a quick judgment of the room. Blaaaaaah. Boring, boring room. Thankfully though, before he could even address how dull their conference room was, he was reminded of the reason why he’s here. He was here to know things, regarding the phenomenon that’s happening to Hogwarts.

And there were people. Well, he gave out nods and grins who caught his eye…eventually it landed on the person whom everyone was addressing to. Bryce Howell. Hello, how do you do? Max stuffed his hands inside his pockets, and waited to be acknowledged. This man’s got some explaining to do, yeah?

The first person to arrive? His very own personal assistant. And on time, too. Mental points for you, personal assistant.

"Good observation. I am the new Department Head," he said, giving her a wide smile and a nod in return, "It's nice to meet you, Ronnie. I hope you're doing well?" He would have mentioned his own name too but the man was a little distracted with the next arrival and her job title.

Climate control. Perfect.

"Just the person I was hoping for," he said, his eyes now on the woman who had introduced herself as Alexandria. It was true. Bryce had taken the time to go through the records of the current employees to see which one would know the most about the topic of discussion today. So, it was a good thing that this lady had arrived. "Good morning, Miss Hadley. I hope you're doing well--"

And then he was distracted again. Merlin, if this happened a lot today, he was never going to get this meeting starting.

The new distraction came in the form of a blue haired woman (Ember). He tilted his head as he looked over at her. No introductions? Because she looked very unfamiliar. "Good morning!" he started, nodding back at her, "The coffee's great. I think I've had three cups of it already." And she should take a seat if she was planning on staying for this meeting.

The next person was one he did recognise. "Good morning, Miss Lenkim! It's good to see you again," he said, smiling over at her. Environmental Permitting Officer? They had a few of those, didn't they? "I take it that you're doing well?"

Another silent unknown person (Max) had entered the room. Bryce wouldn't have even noticed that the man was there if he hadn't reached over to pick up his mug of coffee. He wasn't sure if it was in the man's nature to look like he was looking into your soul and eternally judging you but that's what the thirty year old got from him. Eh. "Good morning! Take a seat, we're going to get started in a few."

And speaking of getting started, the man stole a quick glance at his watch. Nearly time. "Okay," he called, standing up and addressing everyone present, "I think I'll wait a few more minutes for the rest of the employees to get here before introducing myself properly and getting this meeting started. In the meantime, help yourself to some coffee and tea and pastries." He gestured towards the middle of the table where two pots, some mugs, some plates and some tissues sat. "I highly recommend the chocolate croissants, they're rather nice."

OOC: I'll post again in 7ish hours to properly start this. Make sure to tell all your DERP friends (and anyone else who wants to) to come too! :3

A small smirk escaped Max’s lips as the new Department Head noticed him. Was he that sneaky? Was he that good? Still eyeing the man…a few years younger than him, Max returned the greeting. It was just, proper no? “Morning.” Was it…exactly good? He wasn’t sure. The magical architect was known to have a very calm façade, but internally, his panic has almost reached its boiling point. He had to remind himself that such emotion will never help him think straight and or focused. Well, right now, that’s exactly what the DERP people need to do. Focus, and address the situation in Hogwarts properly, and quickly.

Speaking of time. Where are his other employees? Don’t they know that the others have sacrificed sacred time to be in here…for this meeting? Max swiftly punched the air with his left fist and looked at his watch. They’re late. Merlin, he’s not even a member of this department and yet he’s EARLY for THEIR meeting. Shame, really.

Sighing, and calmly folding in his irritation, Max unbuttoned his suit, picked a chair and sat on it like a boss. Maybe a cup of tea will help ease his tension? Yeah? Good. The magical architect helped himself to a cup, sipped the hot liquid as he eyed the Department Head once more. Just…how good is this guy anyway?

Right as she introduced herself, Ronnie heard the door open and in came Alex. The red head beamed and waved at her. "Morning, Alex!" she said, turning back to man as he spoke. So he was indeed the new Department Head. "Lovely!" she said, clasping her hands together. He seemed quite nice! "And it's nice to meet you...ah, I don't believe I got your name?" she asked, tilting her head to the side slightly. Maybe he had indeed introduced himself and she had forgotten? She hoped not. That would be embarassing. "Oh and I am doing well, how about you?"

Then, the door opened yet again. Turning to see who came in, she saw a girl (Ember) with...blue hair. She'd never seen many people with that color hair. It looked nice, though, it suited her. But who was she? Ronnie didn't recognize her. Was she new to the department, perhaps? Before she could question it, two others arrived. Smiling at the sight of Jazz, she gave her friend a wave. But she did not recognize the other man (Max) who came in. Who was he? Was he new to the department too? Guess she still had people here she had to meet!

Now there seemed to be more people coming in. The new guy Max was coming in. She wondered if it was a combined meeting? She wasn't one for the greetings too much. She'd rather just sip on her coffee and eat her pastry. She took on his recommendation and ate a chocolate croissant. Holy hippogriff they were amazing! She approved. Hmm maybe this new head knew what he was talking about. Oh they had to wait for more new comers? Hmm...alright she had the time. She waited for more instructions from the newbie here.

But she did look in the new guys Max direction and he did seem pretty cute in her eyes. Just saying.

New man (Max), who still hadn't introduced himself, was smirking. Bryce raised an eyebrow at him before giving him another nod. Maybe he could have a look through the Records and see who exactly Smirkey Smirkerson was. In the meantime, thank you for trying the tea. He wasn't a fan of the stuff but it was bound to be good, if the coffee was.

Ronnie, however, was much bubblier, it seemed. Good. He liked that. As for his name, he gave her a knowing smirk and said, "You'll see." Because he wanted to make one introduction only and not have to repeat himself. Speaking of, where exactly where the others? Did they get the memo about the meeting taking place?

Time was ticking and people were late. Not to mention the fact that his patience was running low. So, with a flick of his wand, Bryce shut the door of the conference room. "Good morning and thank you all for coming today!" he said, still up on his feet and clapping his hands once to gather everyone's attention, "My name's Bryce Howell and I will be your new Department Head. I don't mind if you call me Bryce or Howell. If you want me to call you anything other than your surname, let me know." Okay? Good. "Help yourself to some food and drinks." He didn't want complaints about him not feeding them. No thank you.

"Now, the reason I've called you all here today is to introduce myself to you and to bring your attention to a little something something I found in the papers." With another flick of his wand, Bryce sent the copies of an article around the room, so that one rested near each of the employees there. "Now my question is: what can you tell me about the goings on at Hogwarts? And about strange weather?" Hazel eyes flew around the room and lingered on a certain Climate Control Officer. Perfect, was it not?

"Discuss away! Let me hear your thoughts and ideas."

Alexandria looked up when Ember and Jasmine entered ... Jasmine she could understand but WHAT in the name of Merlin was Ember doing here? She'd met the young woman a couple months ago and knew the woman worked in Creatures, of which they did share a floor and conference room. But this meeting was for Environmental. Or was it not a closed meeting? Honestly she had no idea but she wasn't going to bust the girl's bubble unless there was something top secret being discussed ...

So smile for you Ember. And for you too Jazz, of course.

And a new face. She was pretty sure that he did not work on level four at all, so then, what was he doing here? Or did he work here and she just didn't know? Nod for you, mysterious fellow (Max). Now will he introduce himself?

But no time to linger; no, the department head was looking for her? Eyes back on the new face in the room as she pointed at herself and mouthed 'me' at him. "Oh? Hopefully nothing bad," she inquired politely. But it seemed as if he had other distractions so she just waited until he addressed them all... And it seemed he HAD brought a tray of food and pots of coffee and tea for them; refreshments she had not noticed at first glance. Smiling gratefully, she took a chocolate croissant and bit into it. Props to you Mr New Department Head.

And wave back at you Ronnie!

But before she knew it, he was starting the meeting. Bryce Howell? Okay then. Nice simple name. And there were articles being passed around; yes, she'd read that one. "Strange weather patterns crop up all the time, but as for this one only seeming to affect Hogwarts, its bizarre. Something outside of climate control being able to control. No, there's something bigger acting on it. Like with the chizpurfle infestation at the ministry; it must be something big like that ... to affect only Hogwarts."

Aahh so the article was being passed around. To be honest Jasmine did not hear about this. As she read the article, she raised her eyebrows. You couldn't even see Hogwarts from the snow clouds? That is ridiculous and severe. "Woww that is crazy. You can't even see the school? I wonder if someone is behind it.." she thought aloud. She agreed with Alex. She thinks someone else may be controlling it.

Noticing the croissants on the middle of the table, Ronnie raised her eyebrows. Those weren't just any ol' croissants. Those were CHOCOLATE ones. Ronnie had to control herself from squealing or something with excitement. She adored anything with chocolate in it. Smiling, she grabbed one for herself and took a bite. She then looked around. Was this it? She was certain there were more people that were supposed to be here. Perhaps they were just late - but then the doors had shut. Hmm. Looks like the meeting was starting then!

Turning her attention to the new head, she listened as he spoke. Ah, so his name was Bryce Howell! Awesome. He then passed out a newspaper article. Taking it, she read through it, raising her eyebrows as she did. She hadn't heard about this at all, should she have? This was crazy! And this weather was only occurring at Hogwarts? Something definitely was up. Frowning, she looked up from her article as Alex began speaking. Once she had finished, the red head nodded firmly in agreement. "I agree," she added. "It's just so very odd, how it's only affecting Hogwarts. Alex is definitely right, something must be acting on it." she looked back down at the article with concern. That was just so weird. If someone was behind it, who? And why?

While sipping and looking at the Department Head with much interest, Max was momentarily distracted by a set of eyes looking at him. He was expressionless of course as he placed his cup down. What did that woman want? The magical architect gave her (Jasmine) a nod, and as he looked away, caught another set of eyes looking at him. Of course, he understood why. He didn’t belong here, but there was no notice about this meeting to be a closed door one, yes? Welcome or not, he needed to know more things about the situation in Hogwarts. He’s got a nephew to look after, did they know? Of course not. Max gave her (Alex) a nod too.

Are they going to start soon? Apparently not. Merlin. Tardiness is a no-no. It shouldn’t be his problem though, so he’d just sit there, cross-legged and waited patiently for the others to arrive. Ah! Maybe he should introduce himself now?

Oh but wait, the door has been closed, which could only mean that they are already starting. Max sat up straighter on his chair, picked his cup up and sipped on his hot tea. Just then, articles were given to them, and Max stopped the piece of paper from sliding off his spot with his finger, eyes still fixed on Bryce Howell. No need to read the paper once more. He’d gone over it a couple of times now, thinking of a way to get his nephew out.

Something. SOMETHING or SOMEONE outside or maybe inside is controlling the goings on of the school? And how in the world will they be able to help those inside the castle, when the people inside this room are clueless too? Max closed his eyes in irritation and bit his lip. They clearly need…help from another division, yes? Not the MLE because they’ve got MLE employees up in the school anyway, what with the threat about the Quidditch players. They can definitely handle the mastermind behind this bizarre weather IF he or she’s inside the school grounds. Max turned to the Climate Control Officer and eyed her next. Chizpurfle…now that gave him an idea. “Has anyone asked the opinion of Ms. Harmony Skylark?” The Creatures Department Head? “…if this…weather is caused by a beast or…magical creature?” he added as he picked up the article and waved it lazily in the air.

Ember eyed the head as she took come coffee..."Ember..." she said quickly before taking a seat. Right. He probably KNEW she wasn't in the department, but whatever. It seemed she wasn't the only one, either, because another man walked in soon after her. He seemed gloomy though. Like he needed a hug or something. Ember loved hugs.

Hmph.

She was glad Alex didn't give her away. THANKS ALEX. She smiled and waved at the woman.

And the meeting started--a few more people had shown up but Merlin, where was the rest of the department?! Well--whatever. Ohhh...the article...about...Hogwarts. Ember was glad se wasn't still there. She would go insane if she was forced to stay inside like that! Poor, poor KIDDIES. She sipped her coffee, suddenly deep in thought...weather..the owls all scattered...and then when the grumpy man spoke, she suddenly nodded. "I agree--it could have something to do with creatures--" she said quickly. She then looked around the circle. "I have a cousin at Hogwarts. And She said there's also been..strange occurrences with horse-like creatures. Unicorns, centaurs...and whatnot...but all of those things happened before this..." it didn't seem to connect, but it had to all connect somehow.

She was trying to pour over her knowledge of creatures that might control the weather, she was coming up with a blank. Which creatures liked cold?

It was just the most disheartening news! The weather and the creatures and the poor students of Hogwarts but mostly the creatures! THOSE POOR DEARS! Harmony was terribly distraught over the whole thing. SO much so that her aura was a dark and muddy gray! This was not a good day for Harmony Skylark.

Not able to find Enviro's newest addition in his office, the red head unceremoniously swung open the door to the shared conference room with a copy of the Daily prophet in one hand and a smiley face stress ball in the other. The woman was clearly upset.

"Those POOR owls!" She flopped dramatically in an empty seat and looked around at the others as if they should KNOW exactly what she was referring to and WHY she was so up in arms. "We simply MUST work together on this, Bryce." Yes, she'd done her research and yes, Bryce was going to get to deal with a very saddened Skylark in the middle of his staff meeting. Lucky him, yeah?

... ...Was that Ember?

The first person to speak up? Miss Climate Control herself.

And no, this wasn't bad. He just expected her to be knowledgeable about all things climate, but it turned out that this wasn't something she could control. Shame. But she did raise an interesting point with the Chizpurfle infestation. Since the man had been in Costa Rica for much of the previous year, he'd only heard about the incident from his sisters and then read about it in an old Daily Prophet article in case the two women had over-exaggerated. Which they had. Thank you for that.

"The school's completely covered in snow and no one can get in or out," he answered, his eyes looking over towards Jasmine. And Alex did have a point, didn't she? Quite a few people were agreeing with her, including Ronnie. Speaking of whom, he turned to her and lowered his voice just a little. "Think you can take minutes of the meeting as well please, Miss Ronnie? Just for future benefits." She was more than welcome to contribute to the discussion too. In actual fact, he'd prefer that.

The discussion was heading a lot towards the creatures side, wasn't it? And Ember had raised another interesting point. One he didn't know about before. "Is there a chance that the creatures knew about the weather changes before the students and professors did? Can creatures detect that?" Which linked very well to Mystery Man's (Max) question about, who he could only assume was, the Creatures Department Head.

......................... And there she was. Right on cue and with a dramatic flair, too. One that almost made him jump out of his skin. Thank you for that.

"Miss Harmony," he said, bowing his head at her, "You're right on cue. Miss Alex and Mr......." Holy herbicide, he didn't know this one's name. "An interesting question has been raised. Could the weather over at Hogwarts be caused by a magical creature? Anyone else know?" Because he knew squilch about creatures.

And why in the name of Merlin's soggy left sock did she have a stress ball?

That was absolutely mad that no one could get in or out. She still had good school mates there, and she was worried sick about them. Hopefully they were being taken care of as best as they could. Turning towards Bryce and leaning in as he whispered to her, she gave him a nod and a smile. "Sure thing," she said, leaning back into her chair when suddenly, the door had opened, causing her to jump slightly. It was that one lady she had danced with at that Ministry thing...what was her name? Oh yes. Harmony. She was in the creatures department wasn't she? Huh. Maybe they could use people from there too, because Bryce didn't seem like he wanted her gone. She could probably help with the creatures question. The red head gave her friend a smile and a small wave.

Could the weather have been caused by a magical creature? "Perhaps but this magnitude of cold is quite alarming!" Harmony glanced around the room at those present, her expression uneasy. "Nothing that comes to mind is particularly comforting and some are quite dark. Dementors, Yetis, Cold Ones..." Though Yetis didn't bring the cold with them. Nothing good for Hogwarts, that was for sure. "Have we heard anything from the school on this?" Any new information, that is. How Harmony wished she could do something for all the creatures being displaced by such harsh conditions.

“Max Beaugard.” And that’s all they need to know for now. Max still had his eyes on Ms. Skylark as he introduced himself, and started to question her…sanity? Poor owls? All she cares about right now are the owls? “For Merlin’s sake, we can replace the owls! But the children? The children trapped inside that school?” Max bit his tongue to prevent himself from saying those words out loud. He knew that making a scene was unprofessional. What they need right now, is to come up with an idea to get the children out of the school parameter, safely.

Wait, hold on. “Cold Ones? Don’t be silly. Those dark creatures live in the South Pole. How can they possibly be in the North?” Max let out an exasperated sigh. It looked like they were not going to come up with a solution, because apparently the Ministry is clueless too. Is the MLE working on this too? Oh. Oh…those MLE people. Ethan did mention that there were MLE personnel up in the castle because of the Quidditch threat the Headmistress got.

Max sat up straighter in his chair. “I’m not sure about the others Ms. Skylark, but I haven’t heard from my nephew for almost a month now. And according to this article, the owls were seen abandoning Hogwarts, and that it’s impossible to get near the school, or risk having your body parts amputated due to frostbite.” A pause. “That being said, there’s no way to contact any of the students or staff. Unless of course the Headmistress is aware that she, and the rest of the school population are snowed in.” Max pinched the bridge of his nose to collect his thoughts, and shook his head. As an architect, he’s already forming a plan to get his nephew out. It seems that his seven year stay in Hogwarts, memorizing every nook and cranny of the school’s going to pay off real soon. But then, the layout could be different now? Anyway, how about they start throwing in some solution to the problem? “…someone should pay the Headmistress a visit. She has her own Floo, I believe.” And the Floo network is the only way to get to her, yes? Unless it's blocked too, then they are all doomed.

Aaaaaand the head was here. She waved excitedly at Harmony before--oh wait--she was supposed to be...not here...she wasn't in this department! Hmm. Her cheeks flushed scarlet, but she sheepishly took a bite of...celery? Sure, celery. Green, crunchy--whatever! Her mind was too...distracted right now to pay attention to what she was munching on!

She nodded at what the Bryce-guy was saying. "Most creatures do sense things...like that. Weather changes and whatnot. And almost certainly they WOULD have if another creature is what is causing the cold--" which, personally, Ember was betting was what was happening! Not that she would say this aloud, but she just thought that seemed the most likely possibility. Her eyes went to Harmony. "I doubt it's dementors, too, because the whole castle would be feeling sad and stuff--but then again, how do we know their moods aren't affected if we can't even get in TOUCH with them?" She siiiighed. This was very complicated, wasn't it?

She eyed the other man who clearly didn't belong there. "Yes, why hasn't someone tried this before?" she asked suddenly. "Isn't the head's flu always connected to the the ministry's?" Riiiight? Though she could be wrong. She was trying to wrack her brains...and she couldn't even think of any plants that would control weather, either.

She felt very stumped, and she didn't like it.

First test for the personal assistant was passed. It was nice to know that he could count on her. She got something rare from him: a smile and another whispered instruction, "Feel free to take part in the conversation too, mkay?"

Speaking of the conversation, Bryce's eyes rested on Harmony as she spoke of Dementors, Yetis and........... Cold Ones? What in the name of Merlin? Was he the only one here who didn't know what those creatures were? Apparently so because Max -- thank you for finally introducing yourself, by the way -- had given more information about these creatures. "Maybe these creatures. These," SIGH. "Cold Ones moved on up. Have there been any articles about them?"

And it turned out that Max was a concerned parent personnel. His hazel eyes rested on the man a little longer before looking over at Ember. "Sooooo what I'm gathering from this is: owls have fled from the castle because of the weather which could be caused by a creature of some sort," he started, before looking over at Max, "You say you haven't heard from your nephew in a month. WELL. What did he sound like the last time you heard from him? In his letters, I mean. Did he sound sad? Upset? Depressed?" If not, they could rule out the dementors. Good riddance.

The last idea? Someone going to see the Headmistress. He was ashamed to not think of the idea himself but meh. It was out there already. "Something we'd need to talk about with Transportation, no? And MLE too, I believe. Get a proper team in there." The look on the Headmistress's face if a bunch of people stepped out of the fire and spread soot around her office would be amusing, to say the least. "Where exactly in the Ministry is her flu connected to?"

The red head gave Bryce another nod. "Alrighty," she whispered back with a smile. He seemed like a really nice person, Ronnie was a bit nervous on how their new department head was going to be like. But Bryce seemed like a very nice person so she was relieved. She had a good feeling she'd really enjoy being his assistant. She was already anyhow!

Leaning back and eating her croissant, she watched as the three discussed creatures and seeing the Headmistress. Wait, seeing the Headmistress? With the floo network! Ronnie never would have thought of that. Now, that wasn't a bad idea, was it? It seemed brilliant. Good thinking there, Max fellow.

Max had to admit that he too found it weird to have the South Pole creatures make their way up to where Hogwarts is, given that this hypothesis is true. Is the South Pole getting too warm for the Cold Ones? Is that it? Quite anti-climactic actually, but it is a possibility. The magical architect have been exchanging owls with Ethan about the Cold Ones, and Max somehow got alarmed when he noticed how much his nephew was into the Dark Arts stuff. Just like his real father.

But, moving on now to the discussion, the 35 year old single dad smirked and shook his head. “You mean to say it is their migration month? I don’t think so. The South Pole is a cold place perfect for them. No need to dominate the North too, yes?” A pause. Maybe he should now mention the postulation he shared with his beloved nephew. “…why go that distance, yes? They must be after something. Something taken away from them?” Okay, now he looked like a complete idiot, because what exactly was his basis? Max looked at every set of eyes in the room. Are they just going to sit there and munch on their food and drink their coffee? Come on people. Inputs.

Wait, article? Hold on Mr. Howell. Max bit his lip and fished out his small journal from the inside of his suit’s breast pocket. Ethan did send him something and asked about his opinion on the matter, but he never got the chance to reply to the boy because of the weather. The man unfolded the article, duplicated it with a spell, and gave everyone a copy with a flick of his wand. “…it is not the Cold Ones, but a similar type. What do you think?” Max sat back and observed each and everyone as he waited for their opinion, especially Ms Skylark. “Not the most reliable source, I believe. But it’s something.” Oh and about Ethan? Kid’s perfectly fine. “That kid never gets sad. Not even a Dementor can faze him.” Truth. He’d even enthuse on the subject like it’s no one’s business. Odd kid, you see? As for the MLE being in Hogwarts. “…I believe they do have a few MLE personnel stuck with them in there? Somebody threatened the student Quidditch players before the Term even started.” And he can still remember how upset Ms. Victoria Maroon was when he bumped into her one morning. “I think somebody from the Office of the Minister should send a message to the Headmistress via a Head-Only Transport.” Last time he checked, Floo networks can be used to communicate with one another through the fire too by just putting your head into it, yeah? Max never tried it though.
