Flying Carpet Vendors http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps5c6df863.jpg Banner by Cassirin While none of these carpets are actually for SALE, you can still take a look at the beautiful carpets that are available for sale in countries where flying carpets are legal. Not only have these vendors brought their finest carpet specimens to show off, but they have also brought tiny trinkets and knick knacks for sale as well. Do you need a small golden elephant with tiny red rubies in the details? Well you can find it here! |
Keegan was standing around in the vendor area waiting on others to make their way. He was hoping that things went smoothly during this event. And maybe he would even meet a beautiful woman. Ya Know things could happen even though he was working. He smiled and decided to check out a few carpets himself. He was really hoping that they would change the previous law about carpets he thought this would be such a great way to get around. |
With the quidditch event having gone off without a hitch, earlier in the year one could only hope that the transportation department's planned own symposium had the same bit of good luck. Simon for his part wasn't going to do anything to jinx things in any way. He was however going to do his part to watch out for trouble during the event, acting as part of the security entourage after planning it all out with Ms. Schultz personally and later adding in the assistance of his fellow MLErs. Entering the home of the gathering, the auror turned security began discretely patrolling the area, making his way towards the vendor area. They had made a point of being concerned with the number of people that would no doubt be drawn here as well as the sellers themselves, so Simon figured it was as good a place as any to start. |
Milton had to admit, his stay in the UK had been pretty comfortable thus far. That Schultz woman had jumped through hoops to make sure he had everything he needed at the Leaky Cauldron - it was difficult to stop himself from taking advantage of that hospitality. He arrived at the symposium, running over his main talking points in his brain as he prepared for the debate they'd be staging later. He wanted to be sure he hit all the important parts - he had a DUTY, after all, to give these people the cold, hard facts and help them make an informed decision! So Milton kind of just...wandered. Running over his speech in his brain. Admiring the carpets. Pretty things, they were, despite his lack of love for them... |
He finally had everything set up and ready for people to come check out his stand. It really was too bad that he couldn't sell any of the gorgeous carpets he had! All for show. Hmmm maybe if someone was really serious they could talk. Bah, no the Ms Schultz was around. Oh well, maybe he'd gain interest some other way. He moved out into the open more as people started coming closer to look at what they had. |

She frowned, looking at the gorgeous carpets that couldn't be sold, idly wondering if she might relocate to an area where it was permitted, or at least a vacation home of some sort. She sighed, making her way over to a particular stand. Maybe she could buy a trinket of some sort. She approached the man standing in front, assuming that it was his stand. "Your carpets are lovely. I wish I could get one," she said with a smile. "But, since I can't, I'd like to purchase something from you that is permitted, to show my support." She looked past him to the stand, eyes scanning, but nothing in particular jumping out just yet. "Do you have any recommendations?" |

So sad that he didn't even dare to offer to help her find a carpet that would suit her needs. But hopefully in due time! |

Gesturing to the shelves, she pointed toward several sets of earrings. "I think some jewelry might be in order." She smiled at him again, and pulled her hair away from her ear and her neck, turning to face him. "Which pair do you think would look best?" |
Quote:
He moved to the earrings "A fine choice!" Hmmm, he took a few down and held them towards her ear one at a time. "I would say these ones, they bring out your eyes particularly beautifully." |

Pressing her lips together in a line as he held up the earrings, she watched him pull several down, before settling on one. Her pale cheeks flushed slightly as he mentioned her eyes, and she let her hair fall back down. "I think those will do quite nicely. Thank you." Reaching into her bag, she extracted her coin purse. "How much will those be?" She looked at him, ready to count out her coins, but quickly added, "Also, should Britain get around to allowing carpets... or I find myself living elsewhere with, uh, different regulations, I'd love to be able to get in touch about a carpet. Do you have a card or.. a something?" Even a name. |
If there was one thing in the world that Dora wanted, but her grandmother would not allow in their home for whatever reason, it was a flying carpet. So when she noticed the article in the paper about the flying carpet symposium she just HAD to go. Sure, they weren't selling carpets, but that didn't mater did it? She just wanted to go see them and check out what else was going on at the event. Not to mention she could always leave the country and get her own if she was so inclined and spotted a model here that she liked. Alice wouldn't mind a carpet in their apartment. "I want to empty my coin purse and fill my bag with trinkets before we do anything else." She had Mo by the arm and was leading the way into the event, glad that he had agreed to come along with her, and happy to be her ever helpful self in saying what they should do first. The recent Hogwarts graduate stopped at the first vendor they came across and admired the carpets while picking up one of the items that actually were for sale. |

"Four galleons." he said "Normally, but I'll give them to you for three." He held out the case that held the earrings to her. "I do have a card!" He said nodding and moved to take one from his chest pocket, "My name is Aadil, and I'm easily reached by owl at any time." Passing her the card, "Just contact me any time." |

"Oh wonderful," she said, reaching out for his card, brushing his fingers slightly as she grabbed it. The card she slipped into her pocket. "Aadil, I'm Emmalee. Thank you for all your help." She began to walk away, before pausing and turning back around. "Maybe I'll see you again before the symposium is over." She offered a little half wave, wiggling her fingers, before turning back around, wavy red hair bouncing behind her, and a slightly bashful grin on her face. |

"You should get me a present." Mo brushed his hand along the tassels of one of the rugs. How many did it sit? How high would it go? Did it have seat belts? Cushioning charms? HM? "Are you getting Alice a present?" He'd chip in for that. BTW. |

Very sweet woman, he thought as he turned to see more people arrive. |

And a matching bracelet. "Pick whatever you want, and it'll go in the bag." He could have all the presents he wanted so long as he did the carrying after, and even if he didn't. Mo did speak Dora, but she also could be generous to him if he put up enough fuss. "I'm getting her presents and I'm getting you presents, but I'm not getting you guys matching gifts." Because she was the best best friend, and deserved matching gifts with Alice. "What do you want besides the little elephant?" Did they have turtles? |
Quote:
"Why would you get us matching gifts? I don't wear... well. Neither of us really wear much jewelry, but I still don't think it's a concern." Mo picked up a scarf and draped it around Dora's shoulders before moving on down the table. He offered the vendor a smile. Sell them something, ok, mate? "I don't want an elephant." He didn't want to carry it. |
Nabs you ^_^ He headed in the direction of the two browsing, with the young lady wearing one of the scarves now. "Might there be something I might be able to tempt you with? Anything particular you're looking for perhaps?" A little smile was on his face as he looked at the couple. "I must say the scarf looks quite nice on you miss." |
Having some time before the debate was due to begin, Rashida wandered through the event to orient herself and to see what all they had to offer. Her travel accommodations had been satisfactory and she was rather looking forward to present her views on flying carpets to the British Ministry, finding their current laws regarding them to be silly and out-dated. Perhaps her experiences and expertise would help persuade things in their favor. She had a business interest in that as well. Of course, it annoyed her slightly that her husband's own flying carpets were not selected to be represented here today. Instead, various other vendors were present to advertise their own wares. Perhaps it did not matter though. It wasn't like anything could actually be sold today. That needed to change and then that would open up an entire new market for her family. For now she could scope out the other vendors while she waited for the debater to start. She could admit some of these carpets were quite stunning. |
Kyle’s eyes fell upon a beautiful trinket, a necklace really. Or it could have been one she wasn’t sure. It looked rather heavy though with its golden elephant status – and maybe the fact that it was about the size of her fist. She probably couldn’t use it could she? Her neck would break. Hard. The wares, all of them and some of the carpets too, were beautiful….some looked a bit on the dusty side. |

"I'm saying I wouldn't." In case he was thinking about it. Because Dora bought Alice jewelry even if she didn't want any or wore it. And matching things. But not with Mo. She messed with the scarf a bit more thoughtfully. Soft. "What do you want then?" And look, someone was going to assist them. Her hazel-greens shifted over to the man as a shrug rolled off her shoulders, and she was mannered enough to at least offer him a small smile. "It's a nice scarf." She ran it between her fingers gently. "We're not sure what we're looking for until we've laid eyes on it, but I like accessories and he..." Her eyes flicked to Mo briefly. "Doesn't want jewelry." Apparently. |

Her eyes soon focused on a wizard looking in her direction and she faintly smiled at the air of familiarity he had about him. She searched her brain a moment, but she really couldn't place him and that did not sit well with her. She made it her business to know people in the industry, which she was certain this man was. She could remedy that easily though. "It is.. please, it's Rashida," she said, extending her hand for the man's benefit. "And you must forgive me. But have we been acquainted?" Normally she wouldn't be so informal in business arrangements unless she was more familiar with someone, but in a case such as this, he seemed to be in her corner in regards to the symposium. Why not be a little casual and friendly? |
