|  Booth: Goblin Relations Made of Awesome | Ern-la the Best-wa | TZ's Apogee
 Over the centuries, relations between wizards and goblins have never been great. Throughout the years there have been many goblin rebellions and neither side have been without fault. The wizards and witches with their wands and magic, refusing to let goblins be ‘wand carriers’ and the goblins feel it is an insult to their kind. In return the goblins having their metal-working skills, and conceal their secrets of their magic from wizards.
Goblins resent the fact that they are considered second class citizens, but can be blood thirsty and cruel towards wizards. How do our candidates feel about the relations between wizards and goblins? And how do they foresee the future? Do they plan on improving those relations? Candidates:

Er. Judging by the lack of people present at this area of the event, Sherman was guessing goblin relations weren't among the hottest of topics? He was pretty shocked by that, though. After the repossession of Hogwarts items by the goblins a few years back, the elderly man thought it to be quite a pressing issue. Currently, there was absolutely nothing that could prevent goblins from pulling a stunt like that again, and while he thought talks of budget and education standards could settled more simply, this one could use a good debate.
If there was anyone to hear his take, that was.
Wheeling around a bit, he waited for someone to approach him. Hellooo?

Well, this was an unpopular topic, it seemed. All of the topics being presented here were important ones, of course, and Atticus stopped by each of them in their turn to listen to the candidates' various thoughts and potential plans, but finally he made his way over to this one. He did not work with goblins very often outside of going to Gringotts, but he was still interested in aspects of wizard and goblin relations.
Was Sherman the only candidate that had chosen this as one of their topics? Hm. Well, Atticus was pleased that at least one had seen this was just as important as the others.
"Good day, Sherman," he greeted the man with a smile and an extended hand to shake. "I'm interested to hear your take on our relations with goblins. You know a lot about them, I'm sure, with your wife at Gringotts. Do you think it's possible to improve our interactions with them in general? How, if so?"

Oh, hey, it was his fellow governor! Finally, some company.
"Hello Atticus!" Sherman took his hand and gave it a hearty shake, quite a strong grip for a man of his age and frail appearance. He nodded to the other man's question; Lucia's job gave him some unique insight on the topic as well. It was time to put that insight to use, wasn't it?
"I do think it's possible. I know you're familiar with the repossession of Hogwarts items that occurred during the year of our election? It's also public knowledge that Gringotts, our only bank, is owned and operated by goblins. In recent years, they have allowed wizards and witches to have more and more say in the bank, as well as a multitude of work positions only goblins were permitted to hold before. But this does not change the fact that they have a great deal of the control over the safest place for our money and belongings, as well as our economy. That's why I chose this booth at which to come speak."
Pity he was the only one, though. Sherman fancied a good discussion.
Anyway. "While I do not think find extreme measures ideal, like allowing goblins to carry wands, I do think we must take some action to fortify our relationship with the race. They are smart, cunning, and we have already seen the havoc they can wreak upon our children's education and lifestyles with little to no consequences. I'm sure you know of the Goblin Liaison Office within the Department of Magical Creatures? The office is fairly inactive, the liaisons taking little to no action to better the situation. I propose that we extend a hand to them, sending our liaisons to work with the goblins. Instead of waiting for another conflict to arise and settling it, I wish to reach out and form an agreement of sorts- a treaty, if you will, and learn more about the more reasonable of their demands in exchange for their cooperation, support, and peaceful existence alongside residents of Wizarding Britain."
