Airplane Hangar 17 It's hard to hold meetings in this big drafty hangar, but the Department of Games and Sports will have to do the best they can.

Default West Wall [Magical Games and Sports Conference Area]

Magical Games and Sports Conference Area

There aren't a lot of rooms in the hangar to have one specifically for meetings as the building is basically one big space, but the west end of Hangar 17 has been specifically designated for such a function. Sure, its as dirty and dismal as the rest of the area, but there are at least some folding chairs set up here that had been acquired from a local church's rummage sale. Don't worry about sitting on these, they are most likely cleaner than anything else in the airplane hangar though comfort isn't exactly promised. This is where any department-wide meetings will be held.

She was here alright. Victoria sighed as she walked into this well whatever this was. It was a mess and it made her that much more anxious to be back in her bedroom hiding. Why was she still there, she said she was quitting, but she had been so torn that she didn't. Now she was stuck being there.

As she walked through the building her anxiety got worse and worse. She was there alone since she hadn't really been talking to Charely much. He hadn't done anything, but she was avoiding. She hated feeling the way she did. Pushing away from everyone and everything, but it was just easier. She had planned on just owling in sick for as long as she could until she got that owl saying her best friend was now her boss. She felt obligated to come now.

So forcing herself to work not even bothering with makeup, because who really cared she was now there looking at what was suppose to be the conference room. This was just so ridiculous, but she would be there to support her best er well what was Mariel now. She was no longer someone that Victoria could just go vent to. No you couldn't just go vent to your boss. For once she was happy they weren't at the ministry seeing that empy desk would have been hard.

Looking around the area with the chairs and thinking about the changing of her relationships and all the other mess of her life, Victoria had second thoughts of being there and turned. Maybe she would just leave before anyone else showed up.

Mariel had tried her best to get to the airplane hangar early so she could arrive before everyone else. She knew of its deplorable conditions having visited it not long ago, though she knew she would not be able to tackle that huge job alone. Still, it would probably be best to be the first one there so she could greet everyone at the door to soften the blow a bit. Too bad she had such trouble with the Muggle bus she ended up taking.

The brunette got there eventually, however, and stepped through the doors, bracing herself for the sight. Ugh. She could not believe this was where she would be in charge of her department. They would have to make do the best they could though and hope that it wouldn't last longer than a week or two. She tried to be optimistic but was it really in her nature?

As she crossed through the large, drafty building towards the area she had designated as the meeting area, she noticed a person had already arrived. "Victoria?" Mariel smiled widely as she approached her, her smile faltering slightly as she neared. She certainly was glad to see her especially as she told her she might not be in for a while, but she looked awful. Not that she would ever say that to her. "I'm so glad you made it. It's just too bad it's not in a nicer location." Not that there was anything she could do about it though. And Merlin was it cold in here. She glanced around though she knew no Muggles would be in sight and cast a few heating charms around the meeting area. January was far too cold to be without heat.

Yes leaving was probably the best option. She could get out of this place and back home before she ran into anyone. Especially Charely and Mariel, but just as she started across the room she heard her name. Brown eyes snapped up as she saw Mariel standing in the doorway. Well so much for leaving, she forced a smile that truly looked forced, "Good morning boss." That was weird to say and awkward, she regretted saying it the minute it was out of her mouth.

She quickly looked away. "Well when I saw the owl I knew faking sick wasn't an option anymore." Trying to pull it off as just joking Vic shrugged her shoulders and laughed a fake laugh. "Ministry still craptastic I take it. That's why they've upgraded us to this." She sighed, probably shouldn't say that type of stuff anymore now should she. This was so weird not knowing what she could say and what she couldn't with her friend. Now she wished even more she would have just quit when she said she was going to.

"Well.. I.. umm guess I should find a seat." Turning she went to find a seat and wait for the others. Merlin let them come soon so she could maybe just hide in the background or something.

Ugh Ugh Ugh. This place was terrible. Whoever thought this was a decent suitable condition for work, especially Ministry work, must've been sick with a thick flu or something. Honestly. This place was terrible, ugly and so messy. Not meant for a working condition. Saxon could just imagine trouble making kids finding their way in here at one point or another.

Saxon made her way through the hangar until she found Mariel, hello new boss who isn't Lourdes, and Victoria talking, and then Victoria was taking a seat. The blonde took one of the chairs and unfolded it and simply just sat down and stared around the entire building, still not believing she'd be working here.

"Hello, you two." She greeted them quietly, a small smile on her face.

SPOILER!!: Langen outfit because I don't know to properly do this

Langen walked in and tiried to casually stand by the back wall for a few seconds and look around the hangar. She didn't know anyone. At all. That was probably the occupational hazard of being a newbie, but bit her lip and offered up a weird looking smile at best. When she knew people better, she would talk more and be a lot more lively, but as of now she was just the awkward newb. But there was personality hidden inside this awkward newb. Trust her on that one.

With a deep breath and a shake of her wrist with the bracelets on it to calm herself down, the brunette walked forward. She was going to be expected to actually do things in the ministry, regardless of how new she was. And besides, she didn't want to be the awkward new kid standing in the back and waiting to be introduced. She wanted to be the weirdly confident new kid who could talk to everyone and smiled at everyone. Almost like they weren't new. Because those kids (while scarily confident) always had the easiest transition in the new enviorment.

Looking at everyone else, Langen felt like she was both overdressed and underdressed at the same time. The boss was wearing an actual dress! Why didn't she listen to her mom more? Ooops, hope this would be enough? The brown-eyed girl felt like a Muggle high-school student when they weren't sure of their outfit. Was she overdoing it or underdoing it? Merlin, this day was going to be long.

Taking a seat, she smiled around the boss and thought about what the actual office would look like. Because while the airplane hangar was nice and she was grateful to have a job, there was always that creeping feeling of wondering what she missed. Well, not missed exactly, but what option number two was. If the ministry didn't have it's unforseen circumstances. But still. This was very nice.

Mariel's smile faltered hearing the word boss come from Victoria's mouth. Of course she knew that's what she was now, but it sounded kind of weird coming from her friend. She supposed she'd better get used to it, but an awkward thought filtered through her head that she quickly pushed aside. "I'm still Mariel," she said with a smile, hoping that Vic was alright with things though the forced smile on her face might have told her otherwise.

She furrowed her brow slightly and tilted her head as she looked at Victoria for a moment. "Faking sick?" So until she realized that Mariel was the new Department Head, she wasn't planning on coming in at all today? That didn't make much sense unless it had something to do with the babies maybe? "What do you mean? Is something wrong?" She gave her a tight smile at her next comment. The 28 year old wasn't happy about their new accommodations either. "I wish I knew what was going on," she shrugged, managing a short chuckle. "Just when I thought conditions couldn't get worse.. but we will make this work." They had to. She had every confidence even if the place was deplorable. And hopefully it wouldn't be for long.

Mariel watched somewhat sympathetically as Vic went to get a seat. The chairs pretty much sucked but there wasn't really anything she could do about it just yet. She was about to take a seat herself when she saw another person walking in. Oh good. Her employees were starting to show up so they could get on with this meeting, then they could see what they could do about making this place a little more hospitable. "Good morning, Saxon," she greeted the woman with a small smile, then gave her an approving nod at her choice of attire. She didn't miss the look on Saxon's face as she looked around before taking a seat and quite frankly didn't blame her. "Not the most favorable of accommodations, I know.."

She was about to expand on her thoughts when a movement at the doorway caught her eye. Another employee.. or.. ? Mariel did not recognize her and hoped that she was her new employee and not some Muggle that had wandered in. Really, that was all they needed right now. Conditions were difficult enough without having to explain things. But as she simply walked over to them and wordlessly took a seat, Mariel would assume that she belonged to Games and Sports. Good.. she was dressed well too.

"Hello," she said, returning the younger woman's smile, then glanced down at the notes in her hand. "You must be.. Langen." She looked up expectantly, yet let a smile lay on her lips. "I'm Mariel Morgan, Head of Games and Sports. This is Victoria Maroon," she added, gesturing to her. "You'll be working with her closely as you are both Quidditch. And this is Saxon Kildare." She inclined her head in Saxon's direction. "She's in Gobstones, but we have quite a bit of work to do, so we will all be working together actually." She might actually have to pull a few people from that division to help out with other things, but it would work out.

"We'll wait a few more minutes before we get started." They still had several in their department and it was still rather early. And Mariel would rather not repeat herself.

Well, this was a first for Charely, not being one of the first arrivals. Rather than dwell on the new location of their offices and that the care of his and Vic's girls was situated with her parents while they worked today, he walked along his way inside.

"Good day, everyone.. hope I'm not late." Charely recognised everyone that was currently inside, with the exception of one of the ladies. Offering a hand for Langen to shake, "Hello there.. Charely Potter, of Gobstones." He had heard there was a new recruit in their whole department, along with the new promotion for Mariel. Smiling a little at everyone, before going to take a seat right by his fiance, Vic who he had built up a lot of concern for lately.

"We'll wait a few more minutes before we get started." They still had several in their department and it was still rather early. And Mariel would rather not repeat herself.
"Hello." Langen's reply was almost automatic. A learned behavior if you would. And that was important. Because her throat felt dry. But she smiled to appear confident. Because quidditch taught her that even if you feel nervous and clammy, you still smiled and act like you were having the best day ever. Always look confident.

The brunette looked at people as they were introduced, trying to quickly remember names. Especially those who would be working with her. And since they still had time left she might go and talk to some people she would be working with. Better to get friendly now than later when their job depended on it. It only made sense. So she walked over to Victoria and took a seat next to her.

"Hello. I'm Langen. I guess we'll be close through the department." Awkward intro was awkward.

Victoria still had the forced smile on her face and shrugged a bit, “Yes I know, but you aren’t at the same time. Which isn’t a bad thing.” Well at least she hoped, but it was going to be different. She couldn’t help feel the knot in her stomach thinking about how different it really could be. Mariel was really one of the few people she was close with and now that wasn’t going to be the same. She looked away quickly before anymore thoughts made the already high anxiety rise up more. “Oh I was just joking.” She did her best to prove that was the truth maybe even more to herself than to her boss. “Of course we will.” She wasn’t going to say anymore it wasn’t right to complain about the ministry or the department issues with her boss now.

As she took her seat the thirty four year old noticed someone else was with them. She wasn’t sure why but it had made her feel a little better knowing that maybe the focus would soon be away from her with Mariel, but then she realized it was Saxon. It wasn’t that she didn’t like the girl. No Saxon was nice, but she wasn’t sure why she had so much jealousy when it came to the pretty blonde. She sighed, but still forced the small smile. Well on the bright side with Lourdes gone at least it was Mariel and not some way younger perky blonde taking over. “Hello Saxon, nice break?” She managed in a way to quiet voice.

Next thing she knew there was someone she didn’t recognize (Langen) come into the room and head to the corner. Must be the new employee, Victoria remembered the time a few years ago that she was in those shoes. Had it really been four years? Some days especially lately she felt she had been there so much longer. She gave the girl a small smile, but it faltered without meaning as Mariel did introductions. Working closely together. Why did her already anxiety filled mood fall even more at these words. She had taken Mariel’s position than. Well of course someone had to be in regulations lord knew Mariel was the only one that really did that job.

Pushing those thoughts away and the getting up and walking out feeling she was fighting Vic turned as the girl sat down next to her and introduced herself. She swallowed hard and blinked before speaking, her voice more quiet and shaky than she would have liked. “Nice to meet you Langen, I’m Victoria, Public Relations for the Quidditch side of things.” She gave the girl the best smile she could for the next part of her words, “I guess we will. If you need anything please don’t ever hesitate to ask.”

Her eyes quickly turned forward again as someone else came into the room. Her heart jumped at the sight of Charely. She wanted to run and hide next to him as much as she wanted to pull away and hide from him. Her emotions and feelings were all over the place and she had to force deep breaths not to have a sudden panic attack right there. “Sorry I didn’t come with you this morning, figured I’d take the girls early to my parents.” She turned looked back at Mariel desperate for her to start this meeting and get it over with so she could leave the building for a small break.

Ryan was always fashionably late to the party. He loved how he came in late but at the minute it seemed he was actually on time because no one was speaking how was that actually possible maybe the new boss didn't get the Memo about him always arriving late or something well never mind he was here now and couldn't be bothered to go back out and wait until the meeting started.

Mariel was directly speaking to her. Hi Mariel. Good morning to you...er, sort of." Cause of their work place, nevertheless, "Good morning. Excited for your new position?" Just friendly conversation, yeah? Saxonwas going to miss Lourdes, but she was on good terms and didn't mind Mariel, so she wasn't complaining. But then she was referring to the location, Saxon looked around some more and nodded in agreement, "Yeah... Good thing is we're not out of a job." The only positive thing out of all of this.

Charely was here too. Nice to see him. Saxon simply waved at him, since he seemed to be greeting a new looking employee.

Victoria was then addressing to Saxon and she turned to look at her. Her break. Oh, yes, very good. For the most part. "My break was quiet, besides the constant barking and meowing of our dogs and my brother's kneazle. He went back home to visit our dad so it was just myself at my place. Very relaxing. And you?"

There were two other employees here. Both Saxon didn't recognize. Well, one of them had to be the newer employee, right? Or maybe the new addition to the department still hadn't arrived? Perhaps Mariel will say who it was once they arrive.

Mariel thought over Victoria's words. No.. she certainly didn't think her promotion was a bad thing but her friend's whole demeanor was off. She wasn't exactly sure what this vibe was that she was getting from her, but she didn't think it was just about her being in charge of the department now. But she didn't really know. She allowed a light smile to lay on her lips. "We'll just have to do a little cleaning and it will be fine." Not that she completely bought that herself or was all that keen on the idea of having to clean before they could do any of their regular work, but she had to be a good example for everyone now. "And I don't think it will be for too long."

The brunette glanced over at Saxon as she addressed her again. Sort of.. yeah. Mariel knew exactly what she meant, but she'd address that shortly. "Very much so," she said with a small smile as the blonde asked about her new position. She was rather excited about the plans she had for this department, but that would come in a bit. For now they really had their work cut out for them. Mariel nodded to Saxon's next words. "Great way to look at it. Yes.. instead of just closing things down completely, at least we all still have our jobs. Way to think positively, Saxon." And she knew that was true herself even if she'd rather not be somewhere so.. dirty.

Hearing footsteps behind her, Mariel glanced over her shoulder and gave Charely a small smile. "Morning.. no, no you're fine." Still had a few more minutes till she really wanted to start the meeting though it did strike her as somewhat odd that he hadn't arrived with Victoria. They did still live together, didn't they? But that wasn't really her business.. for now.. and her green eyes fell on both of them for a moment as he sat next to her.

She glanced at her watch as her employees engaged in a bit of small talk, then glanced behind her again as someone else walked in. Green eyes followed him all the way to their makeshift meeting area. Mariel knew he looked familiar but wasn't sure they had ever met. He was one of her Patents people, wasn't he? Must have stayed to himself on that end of Level Seven. "Hello.." Mariel began with a faint smile in his direction. "Ryan, isn't it?" At least she was fairly certain after going over all her records.

Alright.. it was time to start. Anyone who came in after now would just have to get updated from someone else. They had far too much work to do for her to wait any longer.

"Morning everyone," Mariel greeted them all officially now as she grabbed one of the folding chairs and slid it around in front of the group before sitting down. "So.. welcome back. I suppose we should start by talking about our new.. arrangements." And she hoped they knew that she wasn't exactly pleased about it either and that it certainly wasn't her choice. "Certainly not ideal, but it was something of an emergency situation so that we could all get back to work." That was important, yeah? She was sure most of them needed this job and the bills wouldn't stop coming if the paychecks did. "As I told you in my owl, the Ministry has somehow become inaccessible. Quite simply, none of the entrances work. As of right now, there is no way into the Ministry so the Minister has secured relatively safe locations for each of the departments. I trust that the appropriate people are looking into this problem and I do hope that this is a very temporary situation." She was sure the rest of them hoped that too. Seriously, who wanted to work in a dirty airplane hangar. She doubted the Muggles that once worked here did either. That's probably why they abandoned it.

"Anyway, for the time being, we will have to use Muggle transportation to get here until Transportation can get out here to set up apparition zones and Muggle repelling charms. I trust that no one had any difficulties this morning?" At least the ones that were here. Maybe the rest had some trouble. "So.. yeah, airplane hangar. This is going to be our meeting area. Back there," Mariel pointed to the back of the hangar where the large doors are, "Can be used as our break room. There's a coffee cart in the corner.. some magazines.. if anyone wants to bring a game from home, sure. Fly your broom back there if you want." She tried to smile a little. They could make this work, right?

"Out in the back is what Muggles call an airplane. Inside is designated for use by Gobstones," she said, glancing at Saxon and Charely. They'd have to deal with it the best they could just like everyone else. "Right behind you here in that door," she pointed to the door near where they were sitting, "Is a room for Ludicrous Patents," she nodded towards Ryan. "On the other side of the hangar," Mariel pointed and gestured opposite of them, "Is my office if you need anything. And the stairs just above that leads to a loft for the Quidditch offices." They could go explore in a little while after the meeting.

"Everything is filthy, not any better than what you see here unfortunately," she said with a rather unimpressed look. "Our first order of business will have to be to clean everything up before we can get started on our actual work. I don't think it's an issue to use magic inside the building, but please be careful that no Muggles are wandering in. We don't need that kind of hassle. So, cleaning spells are a must." She refused to do manual labor without a wand anyway. "I was thinking maybe we could bring in some Quidditch posters to brighten up the place and help it feel more like Level Seven." And of course her flowers in her office. "If anyone has any other ideas to make this place more bearable, I'd love to hear them."

Langen stopped talking and quickly turned her attention to the boss. It was time for the meeting to start. And yes, she was kind of excited. Biggest understatement of the century, but still. She was actually a member of the ministry! The brunettes body tingled with nervous excitement. Like that feeling before you walked into a school dance and you can't wait for everyone to see your dress. But at the same time, you just wanna turn around and leave. Accurate representation.

Okay, airplane hangar. She actually didn't mind. Her grandfather flew airplanes before he married a with and he even took Langen up in one on her summers off of Hogwarts. They were fun. But she wouldn't be working in the airplane. She would be working upstairs, or something like that. The brown eyed girl didn't know the layout of the hangar yet and thus she would have to walk around a little. Which they were allowed to do. Thank Merlin.

Any who, cleaning spells. Yes. Because this place was gross. Not that she hated working here, but all the dirt and dust were not going to help anyone. So make like a winning quidditch team and sweep the floor. Sports humor was always fun.

Okay, Langen felt like she had some basic idea of what was going on. Way better than before when her only options were winging it and ... nope. Her only option before was to wing it. Which was going to help no one as she barely knew what her job entailed when she got the letter. Now she had a better idea and was armed with books to help. Ministry here she came!

SPOILER!!: Saxon and Ryan

__________________

Victoria gave a smile to Saxon, “Well glad you had a nice quiet break though. Quiet isn’t a bad thing.” She wasn’t sure what quiet was anymore with the house that she lived in. Children, owls, the dog. It was all a little farm, her farm that she use to love and couldn’t get enough of. “Oh my break.” Her break how could she explain that one. Her son refused to come home from school for who knows what reason, Wade was away with Indy, and she was just not into it this year even if it was the girls first Christmas. She felt so guilty that she wasn’t for them. “My break was good. Quiet as well.” She lied, but she was getting good at lying it seemed.

Seeing someone else come in the room Victoria gave the man a smile, “Hello Ryan, how are you doing?” She had met the man once before. He had been with Lourdes once. She forced herself to be social she had to. Wasn’t that what a PR person did social things? Plus Mariel was her best friend and even if she wasn’t anymore with this new position Victoria would never want to let her down or disappoint her. “Hope you didn’t have any trouble getting here. It’s a very unique set up isn’t it?” Small talk before the meeting, why not.

SPOILER!!: Mariel and the meeting

"Very much so,"she said with a small smile as the blonde asked about her new position.

And of course her flowers in her office. "If anyone has any other ideas to make this place more bearable, I'd love to hear them."

Oh Vic was so glad when everyone started coming in. She dearly loved her friend, but this awkward feeling she was having right now not really knowing her place anymore was hard and she was glad that she could hide in the background now. Yes moving on from her own thoughts she focused on listening. She sat there and couldn’t help but feel proud of her friend she so deserved this position and she was going to be great at it, but now she just wasn’t sure if she had the same friend that she could complain to, go to with problems. The more these thoughts went through her head the more she wanted to run out of the room and go hide in her house again.

She moved in her seat crossing her arms uncomfortably. She wanted and needed a break from the group, but there was no way she was getting to leave soon. She glanced around as Mariel pointed at places. So Charely would be in a smaller plane with Saxon alone working. Hmm she tried to not let this bother her too much, she trusted her fiancée that wasn’t the issue going on at all, but it still put a prick of awkward in her. A coffee cart, good Victoria was going to need that soon. Brown eyes glanced as Mariel pointed out her office and she tried to catch the frown that hit her face before it was noticed. The thoughts of her friend not being in the desk next to her saddened the thirty four year old. Slouching a little more in her chair she so badly just wanted to apparate away.

They were going to have to clean the place? If she wanted to clean she would have stayed home. This was getting more and more ridiculous. What was going on with the ministry. “Shouldn’t the ministry be sending maintenance around to clean up a bit?” She wasn’t saying it rudely no her shaky quiet voice might not have even been heard, but really what was Anthony doing with them, it wasn’t like they were fixing things at the ministry if everyone was locked out.

Looking around the room and seeing no one really talking Victoria decided she would have to start the conversation, not that she even cared to. “What shall we tell the muggles if they do come around? I mean we should have all the same story, right?” This was their property after all. The minister couldn’t have found places in Diagon Alley or something? Even some rented rooms in Knockturn Alley had to be better than this.

"Hi Victoria." Ryan smiled, he was getting really bored waiting for the boss to come in. "I'm good." He decided that he might as well get to know her more soon. "How are you?" He then heard someone come into the room and he hoped it was the boss because he was getting bored and wanted to have fun here.

"Hello." Ryan said as the woman said hello to him so this was his new boss well okay then as long as she knew what he was like. "How are you?" Ryan listened to both woman and had a great idea. "Hey if any muggles come here, why don't we just tell them we are opening our own air company up." it was a hanger and they would need hanger. "Just say the planes are on order or something." Ryan thought it would be cool. "I even have a catchphrase ready AirMagic - Instant transportation to your location, it's like you never flew!!" Ryan looked at everyone else.

Langen smiled at the air company idea. That actually sounded like an interesting idea. And maybe she would even offer to be a fake flight attendant for the cover-up. She always thought those woman were the cutest things. And they got to be up in the air all of the time.

But it would be hard to carry out, the airline thing? How far could they go to convince people that the actual building was an airplane hangar. The brown eyed girl started thinking and actually thought of an idea.

"On the topic of disguises for the hanger; Hogwarts has charms on it to make it look like an old and decrepit building. No Muggles ever really want to go in there. The charms can't be that hard. What if we did that?" Hey, she was thinking of ideas on the first day! Innovative she was. And that meant that they didn't even have to clean. But it didn't really explain why people were going to be in and out of the building. She thought more, kind of listening to what was happening.

"And if someone sees us going into the decrepit building, we can say we're fixing it up, or part of a demo crew. If thisi s temporary no one's gonna care when we move out. It would be considered a faile-fixer upper." Fixer upper. She learned those words from Muggle television.

And the brunette's main concern wasn't with her idea, but if she got in trouble for talking about it. That wasn't really the topic they were talking about, was it? And that meant that she was completely off topic on her first day. But still, disguises were important. Very important. Because someone was going to eventually ask about the airplane hangar.

And there was the fact that Langen didn't exactly drive a car or anything. Her sister was going to have to drive her to work everyday. And if that Ryan guys plan worked then she was going to have to ride over in a flight attendant ouitfit. She should probably start practicing her graceful hand signals.

No one seemed to have any other ideas on how to make this place any more manageable, so cleaning spells and whatever anyone wanted to bring in from home would have to do. Of course she was open to ideas later, but she wasn't going to dwell on it. They had enough to do. Mariel turned her green eyes on Victoria as she addressed her next and gave her a tight smile. "That would certainly be my favored option," she said with a light shrug. "Unfortunately the rest of the Ministry is pretty much in the same predicament as we are. There just isn't enough manpower in Maintenance to clean up all these buildings so some of it has to fall on our shoulders. They really have their work cut out for them too." There was really so much for everyone to scramble around and do just to keep operating and she tried very hard to understand that, not that it made her happy much.

Then Victoria raised a very good question. It wasn't too far-fetched that the random Muggle could wander in, though it was unlikely. But still they should be prepared and all on the same page. But before Mariel could really think about it, Ryan spoke up and offered a suggestion. She chuckled a bit at his slogan and nodded. "Sure, if any happen to walk by and question things we could say that.. good thinking.." The 28 year old then looked up at Langen as her new employee offered a few thoughts as well. She thought over all she had to say and nodded a bit.

"To be honest, I think the likelihood of any Muggles coming through here and questioning much is rather slim, but in the off-chance that happens, Accident and Catastrophes is supposed to be coming out here soon to put those sorts of charms into place, Muggle-repelling and the like." That was not her job, they knew that type of thing best and she'd leave it to them. "But that provides us with the perfect segue actually." She flipped through her notes before looking up again. "The Department of Accidents and Catastrophes is hosting a training seminar this coming Friday on Muggle Evasion and Statute Violation Prevention. I think it is something we all need to be up to date on while working in this environment. It will take place at their building which is the HMS Royal Arthur. It's at 1:00 so if everyone can go after lunch, it's supposed to be about two hours so feel free to knock off early for the day once it's over. This is mandatory so I expect to see you all there." Whether they felt like they needed it or not. She would not be responsible for any statue violations for her employees plus there was sure to be some valuable tips. Not to mention she needed to arrange things with other Department Heads while there with communication not being up to par. "Any questions about that before we continue?"

OOC: This meeting at Accidents and Catastrophes is starting now! If you've not posted there already, please feel free to do so! Just act like you've been there all along or show up late, it's all good.. but come and have fun =)

Victoria sat half paying attention to what was going on, she just wanted a break away from everyone. Pushing her hair back a bit away from her face. She looked up as Ryan gave his opinion. Well that wasn’t what she really meant but he got the idea. She gave him a small smile in appreciation of his opinion. It was one way to look at things.

Then the new girl spoke finally. Merlin was she young. Did she just reference Hogwarts? Why was the ministry always hiring right out of school. There was no experience at all with that, especially in the professional quidditch world. She wanted to shake her head a bit at the girl assuming everyone in the room knew about Hogwarts spells. Most of them did go there as children even if it had been a few more years for some, but Victoria was never one to be rude so she just sat listening. She was at least giving ideas as well. “That could work if we needed to use something.”

Turning her head back to Mariel she listened to her boss, but it was only for a second. Wasn’t it just a month or so ago they were joking and talking about the ministry not doing their job? Now it seemed she had a different tone in her voice. Exactly what Victoria assumed really. She looked to the floor for awhile wishing more than ever to be out of the meeting. Enough man power, really they didn’t have their own building to deal with they couldn’t send a few to the hanger to help do something cleaning? Victoria bet any money the ministers temporary office didn’t look like this. She really tried to push the negative thoughts away, but in her state of mind it was hard.
Her brown eyes looked up questioning, “Slim? Mariel we are dead in the middle of the muggles. I think the chances are greater right now.” She wasn’t trying to be argumentative, but don’t be taking the guard down about muggles just yet. Another questioning look came across her face as her boss said it was a perfect segue, perfect to what? A training, about muggles. Merlin did they think they would start a world war or something. This was just beyond ridiculous in the blondes eyes. Why didn’t they just form a work from home program until the ministry was open again. She could have done her job easily enough from home.

Mandatory of course, the blonde slouched further. It was really hard to hear orders coming from her friend which only made the situation at hand even more awkward. So many conflicting emotions went through her. She crossed her arms tighter and just wished the meeting over. Questions? Yes are we done now?

Merlin, they were a quiet bunch. Mariel wasn't that boring, was she? No, she knew that to not be the case.. perhaps it was still the shock and confusion over their new locale or just too early in the morning. Perhaps she should have let them get coffee first. Well, there would be time for that soon. She was going to begin wrapping up. She didn't want it to go on forever and she had her own things to do anyway.

Green eyes flickered over to Victoria as she spoke up. "We are in the middle of muggle territory, yeah," she agreed with a nod. She'd give her that much. "But we're a little more remote than some of the other locations." Airplane hangers weren't exactly in the middle of town so she didn't think too many would happen by to check things out, not to mention it looked like it would fall down any minute. Which reminded her.. she needed to get a few people out here to ensure the building's stability. "We should be at least prepared though, which is why I think this training seminar is a good idea for all of us, no matter how temporary I hope this situation is." As in, next week? That would be fantastic. At least they weren't in a muggle building alongside actually muggles like she knew a few departments to be. They didn't have to be quite as diligent as the others.

So.. no other questions? Mariel looked around at her silent employees for a moment before continuing. "Right. Well, I'm hoping to organize something of a Meet and Greet with professional Quidditch players for the general public in the near future. Of course that means our Quidditch division will be rather busy so I'd like to get some help from our other divisions once we get started on that." She looked around at them all again. Yes, Gobstones and Patents, that meant you too. Everyone would have to work together here. "Of course, I'd rather not have it here, so we will have to wait till the Ministry is open again. Or if worst comes to worst we'll have to scout out a more appropriate location, but we have a little time on that." This wouldn't be for a little while yet, but she wanted to put it out there for them all to be aware of so they could start thinking about it soon.

"Any questions on that.. or anything else?" They all seemed a little restless or something, maybe she should call the meeting now. They could have another one soonish, maybe she'd make this a regular thing. "If there's nothing else, feel free to explore our new and hopefully very temporary workspace a little bit before we get back to work." Of course they'd have plenty of cleaning to do too, but that went without saying again. Looking to her newest employee, she added, "Langen, could I see you in my office at your earliest convenience today?" That didn't mean right away unless she wanted. She'd give the girl a little time to look over her new surroundings if needed.

Okay so Mariel did have a point. It was an airplane hanger and people usually didn't come out this far or well she thought they didn't. Victoria really didn't have much experience with muggles until she had started dating Charely. They practically loved muggle things. Not that she minded, no she did like how much Bart learned from them when it came that stuff, but she was still not going to use that changer clicker for the TV. It was way to complicated for her liking. She tried not to roll her eyes as her boss said about the training being a good idea. Most work training was just pointless.

Her eyes did lift at the mention of a meet and greet. So she might do that. The blonde remembered them talking sometime ago about how that might be fun. It would be nice to see their department get more attention for things other than the world cup that was such a disaster last year. "Just let me know if I need to get in touch with teams for players and mascots or if I need to get news things out." PR was her job so yep she wold force herself to stay on task and get things done when needed.

Oh they were done? Good.. good Victoria really needed to step outside for a small break. She looked around the room as she got the edge of her seat. If she moved fast enough she might be able to avoid Mariel and Charely in one go. No need for any personal chit chat when she was trying to avoid socializing if possible.

Blaise silently made his way around the hangar before noticing what he hoped was the conference room. Upon further inspection and few glances, and noticing the amount of people in the area, Blaise decided he had made the right discovery around here. This place certainly was huge, and he could imagine flying his broom around here and chucking the old Quaffle around just like he would back in his old days. The beams were pretty nifty for dodging and flying between...

Anyway, back to reality and back to the task at hand.

He knocked on the wall next to where he entered so as to make his presence known. He scanned the room to try to find the Department Head, Ms. Morgan. It really didn't take him long, because authority stood out to him and luckily she was the best dressed one who everyone else was looking at.

"Excuse me," he said, nodding his head. "Good morning Ms. Morgan. Blaise Carlisle, Head of Security. If you've got time, I'd like to speak with you and your employees just briefly."

Green eyes fell on Victoria again as she spoke up and she allowed a light smile to fall over her face. Of course she would jump on that, or at least Mariel had hoped, since they both seemed to think that would be successful and enjoyable for their department. "Oh absolutely," she nodded. "I'm counting on your help with this and we will definitely need all that done in due time." But the brunette was really hoping that the Ministry would be open before they did any real planning. No way would she be holding any type of event like that here. That would just be embarrassing for their department. She glanced around at the rest of the faces. They might not have spoken up about this but she did hope they knew that she would be expecting their contribution as well. She'd let them know when and how to help though. For now, she just wanted this place cleaned up before they could even think about work.

Mariel was just about to call this meeting to a close when she heard a knocking on the wall. Turning sharply at the sound, she focused her green eyes on the man, watching him for a moment. Was he a rogue muggle wandering in? Because she certainly did not recognize him as one of her employees.. The brunette was just about to open her mouth to ask if he needed assistance, when he spoke first. Oh.. he was with security. Yes, she could certainly do with his presence here. Though Emily hadn't informed her that anyone would be coming today, so his appearance took her by surprise.

"Good morning to you as well, Mr. Carlisle," she said, smiling brightly. "Of course.. we were just finishing up here actually, so the floor is yours." Good timing on his part, she supposed, since they were all congregated and, luckily for him, she had finished what she needed to say to her employees and he didn't have to wait. She moved over to the side to allow him to address everyone, though he had work to do here as well, yes?

Victoria made some quick notes in her head about gathering some information for whenever this event would take place. She figured it would be best if she had the information at hand even if planning wasn't starting yet. She also knew she had to jump on that Mascot training stuff she had been asked about ages ago. She also really need to talk to some of the teams and change out the schedules and the poster templates now that she thought of it. Her work seemed to be more and more.

Thinking that they were close to being done and thankful, because she wasn't comfortable in the chair she was sitting in and really need to go out for a little break when a strange man entered the room. Her hand twitched toward her wand and her mind had went to Simon the day he had scared her coming to search the floor. Relaxing as she realized he wasn't a muggle or anyone that shouldn't be there, but someone from security, interesting. Though not necessary she felt this far out and in such a dumpy hanger.

Finding herself trying to get comfortable she assumed they'd be stuck longer waiting on the man to go ahead and state why he was there.

The meeting was nearly done. Yes nearly. It hadn't been called done but Saxon was about to stand up when she noticed some man standing by the meeting area.

Oh hello random person.

If this person could find this place who knew what other muggles could come to if they were exploring about here. Thankfully, though, there was no need to worry since the man had addressed he was the head of security. No worries at all.

What was he going to tell them? So Saxon stayed quiet in her seat, readying herself for the man to start talking soon enough.
