Despite the scowl that is almost always on his face when he's concentrating on something, such as his work, once you take a chance to say hello, you'll find that he's nothing more than a man with the heart and spirit of a child. However, he does not tolerate being disrespected and can be rather stubborn, but he's also very protective, spontaneous, and loves a good laugh. SPOILER!!: History History: Bryce was the second to oldest brother of five others in his family, three brothers and two sisters. He was born on May 23, 2039 to pureblood Eliza and half-blood Daren McLaughlin, and lived in a cozy home more towards the southeast near Romania and Bulgaria. His father was a dragon keeper, and usually took the boys out with him when they were younger so they could see his job, and mostly so he could get them interested in the profession as well, wanting them to be just like him. He was quite successful at him attempt as well since all four boys had taken an interest in dragons to the point of not wanting to go to school, but to just go and work with their father with the dragons.
Whatever passion they had for dragons, wasn’t enough to have their father keep them from a good education. (He still had to be a responsible dad every now and then hehe). Two years after the eldest of sons started school, Bryce started his first term at Hogwarts, being the second to be sorted into Slytherin in the family. (His father was also a Slytherin). Proud of his son, the father sent him many books on dragons and being a keeper, feeling as if he could be the one to actually follow into his footsteps. However, while at school, Bryce began to find a fascination in the Creatures and Herbology classes, not to mention having great talent in Transfiguration and Potions. His interest in these subjects did not go unnoticed by the professors and one day in his fourth year, it was suggested that he consider going into the art of wandmaking.
Now having a new passion, for the remainder of his years in school, he had secretly bought many books on wandlore, creatures, trees, and anything related to wands to be as well educated in the subject as possible. His secrecy though was to avoid disappointing his father who was still pushing his career on the poor guy. To make his father happy however, Bryce became a part-time dragon keeper right after he graduated from Hogwarts, but at night, he would study his books so he wasn’t behind on anything. A little sooner than expected though, he enrolled himself into a university quite close by that partly specialized in wandmaking. Telling his father that he was taking classes on dragons, Bryce slipped under his father’s radar for a good few years before it was discovered that he was indeed taking classes on wandlore. Whatever Bryce had thought might happen if his father found out, was anything but. His father had been quite understanding, and even knew a man that could possibly teach Bryce with hands on experience instead of studying out of books.
Taking up a different job since dragon keeping was a little too much and stressful, especially when trying to know every single thing there was about wands, Bryce became a part-time waiter at a restaurant a few miles down the street from where they lived to earn some money and also became an apprentice to one Phillipe Hunging; an older wandmaker who was neither famous nor unknown. After a few years, his learning and training became harder as Phillipe strived for perfection in Bryce’s work, and the young guy had to quit his job as a waiter so he was able to concentrate 100% on his work.
A few years later however, Bryce became the official assistant in Phillipe’s wand shop. Proud of his accomplishments, and confident in his own abilities as a wandmaker, he continued to study and learn as much as he could from Phillipe and from himself. Although, hearing that there was an opening in Diagon Alley as the Ollivanders shopkeeper, Bryce took the opportunity as fast as he could, confident that he was ready to run a shop as a shopkeeper instead of as an assistant.
