Chapter 9: To hell with it
“Jess,” Harry called up the stairs, “I need you to get down here for a second,” He had just returned from the Ministry and he had been imagining the reactions when people meet Jess.
“Hey Harry, what do you need?” Jess asked. She was standing on the bottom step because then she and Harry were the same height.
“Um.. You know how some people got a hold on your story,”
“Yeah, what’s going on?”
“Um…” Harry restarted. “They need to meet with you to smooth things over. So take a shower get dressed and be down here soon. Ok?” Harry sputtered.
“Right Harry,” Jess answered.
“Jess,” he blurted, “These people are my bosses, and if you could just…”
“Tone down my lovely personality,” Jess finished, laughing. “I’ll be right back,” she assured as she climbed up a few steps. “And Harry, you realize how badly this is going to turn out.”
But before he could grasp what she had said, Jess had sprinted up the stairs.
“I’m not dressing up you realize.”
