"Do you really need to ask that question?" he asked her with a raised eyebrow.

After two terms with Evelyn and Destiny he would be mad not to be suspicious of anything they did especially when they are nice to him. Both of them had made it very obvious that they weren't that keen on him and so when they started acting nice around him...well...that sounded warning bells.

As he listened to give her explanation, Marcus was still unsure what to think. Either the girl was telling the truth or she was a very good actress. It sounded like a very sweet story and maybe the girl did have a soft side and maybe she was playing him for a fool.

"You do realise Evelyn that even if I could re-create that sweet perfectly it still won't mean the same to you as it does for when your friend makes it for you."

Marcus didn't know how close this friend of hers and he wouldn't pry into her personal life but he knew that having him make the candy was not really going to help her any.
