Ch 5
Once scanning the scene, Draco knew what Blaise was up to. There was a young, petite girl staring into a shop window, and he knew that it was time for one of Blaise’s favorite games: have some sport with the female. Draco decided that he would watch, knowing that it would be much more interesting because Blaise was drunk.

Draco saw Blaise approach the young woman, and she swiftly turned around. She had an expression on her face as if she had been insulted. Blaise no doubt towered over her, but in his drunken state, the girl could tip him over with the push of a finger. Draco saw that Blaise had leaned in closer and put his hands on her shoulders, pressing her against the glass of the shop window. The young woman proceeded to push Blaise away and stalk off in the direction of The Three Broomsticks, the look on her face one of disgust. After recovering from almost toppling over, Draco could hear Blaise shout, “Catch ya later, babe!” before stumbling off in the other direction, almost tripping over his own two feet.

Draco sniggered. He had seen Blaise do this countless times, but never before had he been drunk. After his laugh, Draco realized that the girl was about to stalk by the window of The Three Broomsticks and he leaned forward to get a better look at her. The girl swiftly passed, her long, straight, chocolate hair flowing behind her in a fury. Even through the look of revulsion plastered onto her face, there was no doubt in Draco’s mind that it was her. Agyness. Thoughts began to race through his head.

“No! No, No, No! Why Agyness! Why now? I should talk to her-” He made a move towards the door, “No, Blaise will see me! Blaise, that—that—why did it have to be her?!”’

Draco stopped to compose himself. “What the hell is wrong with me?!” Draco thought and almost said aloud.

“Dear, are you staying or going?” Madam Rosmerta asked from the bar, a motherly tone to her voice and a worried look on her face. She had seen Draco seemingly arguing with himself for the past few minutes. “Goodbye.” Was all that Draco stoically said as he pushed the door open and proceeded to walk down the cobbled street. After a minute of walking and thinking, he apparated home to his empty mansion, ready for some more hard liquor.

Agyness stared through the window of Quality Quidditch Supplies, admiring an expensive golden snitch that was supposed to be so fast that it was almost invisible. She and Luna had parted ways all the way back at Zonko’s Joke Shop. Luna had caught the interest of an eccentric, young, bespectacled wizard and they had hit it off immediately. Agyness had left the two to go off to Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlor on what Agyness had considered to be a date. “Good for Luna,” She thought, a smile forming on her face. Luna had never received much male attention and even though she didn’t show it, Agyness could tell that she craved it.

“So much for our girls’ day out,” She muttered to herself, almost sad that she was alone. “Need some company, beautiful?” In the shop window, she saw the reflection of a tall, thin man wavering behind her as she heard those slurred words. Agyness turned to face the pompous prude, ready to draw her wand if necessary. He had dark skin, high cheekbones, and black, catlike eyes. He looked somehow like the older brother of a Slytherin she had gone to school with. Or, was it the Slytherin that she had gone to school with?

“Still haven’t answered my question, darling…” Blaise slurred as he placed his hands on her shoulders. The force of his action caused her to lean back, her spine now pressed against the sleek panes of the shop window. Agyness was surprised by the strength with which the drunken man gripped her and the hint of mischief in his voice. Blaise was not a large man, but considering Agyness’s petite frame it looked as though a drunken bear had its large paws on a kitten.

“You’re too lovely to be left alone,” He breathed into her face. Agyness shuddered as she smelled the liquor on his breath and saw his eyes scan her figure. With a rush of audacity, Agyness gathered her strength and gave the drunken man a hard push, almost landing him in the cobbled road. Without waiting to see his reaction, she stalked off with the hope that he wouldn’t recover fast enough to come after her. Agyness heard him holler after her but was too flustered to pay attention to the words or turn to look at the disgusting wizard.

After she had walked to a satisfactory distance, she apparated back to her apartment; ready to curl up into bed and drown out her thoughts by blaring music through her stereo.
