Horses Forever! l l Writer for Life l Yearbook alumnus A Safer Place 33. Point Me
The Forbidden Forest was more sinister at night than Draco had thought. He remembered the terror of having detention there back in first year, of course, but this time was… spookier.
“Safer place, right,” he muttered under his breath, cursing his godfather in his mind. Snape had lured him out into the Forest, claming that it was safer to educate him in the Dark Arts than in the castle. He was right, Draco supposed, but it didn’t make the journey to or form the castle any easier on the sixth-year.
“And Father, promising me to his Dark Lord like that,” the blond ranted to himself. “Now I’m forced to learn the very thing I hate; Dark Magic. And perform a task I obviously won’t do. I mean, who the hell can kill the headmaster of Hog-”
A sound in the undergrowth cut him off. Swallowing nervously, he laid his wand flat on his palm and checked the direction in which he was going one more time, just in case.
“Point me,” he muttered.
He wasn’t lost, thank God, and sighed in relief when this realization hit him. Still cursing, he continued on his way to the castle.
