The students of Hogwarts are being separate by gender:

"As you step off the train and retrieve your luggage, you can see that you're not going to be heading off to the same place as all your friends. We suggest you say good-bye to those of the opposite gender here."

Antonio stood on the platform, watching as the new students arrived. "All right everyone, this is important. Please go to the correct carriage for your gender." His watchful eyes were observing everything and everyone around him. "This is all the information I can tell you right now. I'm sure you will learn more later." He continued watching, insuring that the instructions were followed. He saw resistance from Monica. "Monica, it's all right, go ahead and take your carriage. Everything will be fine."

"Everyone, just get into your carriages and go off to your respective school, that's it, off you go," Antonio said, just wanting to make sure that everything went smoothly. He could see confusion on all the kids' faces, but there was nothing he could do about it. This is the way it was going to be.

Antonio announced to the newly arrived students, "Everyone remain calm and get into your respective carriage." He was here just to make sure that everything went smoothly with the transition.
