AJ cautiously entered the apparation practice area. She looked at the hoop she is supposed to focus on while she attempts to apparate to it, and was very tempted to simply run and jump into it... but decided not to. She looked up at the steps, 'Step1: Fix your mind firmly upon the desired destination.' she read, "check" she muttered to herself, 'Step2: Focus your determination to occupy the visualized space.' "check" 'Step3: Turn on the spot and feel your way into nothigness, moving with deliberation.' "check." She understood all the steps, and now to do them.
She decided to close her eyes while doing so, her mind thinking of the middle of the hoop, and as she did so she slowly felt herself becoming less aware of the ground underneath her. She turned quickly and felt her feet against hard marble once again, so she opened her eyes, emitting a small squeak as she did so. She moved her arms up to check that she was all there, yes, she still had arms, and legs, and everything was perfect. She had a big corny grin on just as it should be, except for one thing: AJ was still 5 feet away from the hoop. She hadn't moved an inch. |
