Welcome to 4 Privet Drive! Things may look a little different than what you're used to, but we're still the awesome place that you love. To go along with our remodel there have been a few rule changes, please review them before continuing on.

Guidelines

1) From now on, instead of having sub-forums, all topics will be in the main Privet Drive forum. You may have noticed that the topics that used to be there are no longer there. What used to be the 'general' threads now belong in The Quibbler. So any thread where members are the topic of conversation or you get to share something about yourself (favourites, habits, birthdays, personalities, experiences etc) now belongs there. 4 Privet Drive will continue to host non-HP discussions on books, movies, television, sports etc. To keep it fun for all of us, SS Board Rules must be followed at all times. Be sure you keep an eye out for changes and new rules. We will be watching, and you will be warned.

2) If you don't see a certain thread you're looking for, odds are no one has made it, or it has been deleted (see rule 3). You may and are highly encouraged to submit new threads of your own. Refer to the post below for more specific thread rules and guidelines.

3) To keep the thread you love alive, make sure you keep it active! Threads with no new posts that are no longer on the main page will be deleted. You may re-submit a new thread if one has been deleted. However, if it goes inactive, it will be deleted as well. To keep the forum active and current, we will be getting rid of inactive threads much more often.

4) We're all a community here and to promote that feeling there are a few guidelines you should follow for general posting and perusing.

• You MUST respect other people's opinions and choices. Everyone is entitled to like their own thoughts and opinions and we will not tolerate rude comments or rabble-rousers. See: Harassment.
• There will be no swearing whatsoever. This is included in song lyrics/titles, movie titles and quotes. This includes the use of asterisks (*), periods (.), dashes (-), etc. in the middle of the word or to replace the word itself. See: Profanity
• There are several topics (war, politics, religion, etc.) that are not appropriate for SS. If submitted, these threads will NOT be approved and you will get warned. See: Inappropriate Topics.

If you happen to come across anyone breaking these rules, do NOT take the matter into your own hands, please bring it to the attention of the Moderators.

5) Do not spam. This includes posting only emoticons, one word responses, gifs, etc. or consistent posting. These posts will be deleted and repeated spamming may result in warnings.

6) You are only to post in English in this forum. You may make threads for foreign movies and TV shows, but all posts in that thread must be in English.

7) Due to the unknown, scary world outside of SS, you may not post links to videos (youtube, etc.)

1. Before you create a topic, make sure that the topic does not already exist. Please take the small amount of time to check through the list of threads to make sure the topic you want to start does not already exist. Duplicate threads will not be approved.

2. Use a title for your topic that clearly states the topic or question. Don't use titles like "Whaaaa...?" or "WKWTST", and please make sure you spell it correctly. Titles like "post here!", "read this!", or "tel uz wut ur fav band iz" are irrelevant. Chatspeak isn't proper grammar, so it doesn't belong in thread titles. Also, please do not put half a sentence in the title and finish it in the post. This is very confusing and we will change it if it is done.

3. If you want to include a picture in your thread, it must abide by SS board rules. All pictures must be 60KB or smaller. The suggested dimensions are 350x350 pixels, to keep threads clean and neat looking. If your picture is larger than 60KB or if it makes the page scroll funny, we will edit it out.

4. No Hotlinking!!!

1. Go to the top of the 4 Privet Drive forum and click "New Thread".

2. Create a title and choose the appropriate Prefix from the drop-down list. For example:

Actors & Actresses: Daniel Craig
Books: Veronica Roth : Divergent
Sports: New York Yankees
Music: Justin Timberlake
Movies & TV: Grey's Anatomy

3. Type information into the Message box. You don't have to make it anything fancy, but try to at least have a few sentences. This can include background information, trivia, and pretty much anything you want that relates to the topic. Anything to get a discussion going!

4. You're all done! Check your spelling, check your grammar, make sure there's nothing else you want to add, and hit "Submit New Thread". Once a Mod approves it, your new, shiny thread will appear in the forum! Tadaa!

4. Scroll down to the "Additional Options" box. Check the box next to "Yes, post a poll with this thread" and select how many poll options you want.

5. Hit "Submit New Thread" and you will redirected to a "Post a Poll" page. Here you can add a title to the poll. For example: "What is your favorite Robert Downey Jr. movie?" Then fill out the different options that people can vote on.

6. That's it! Once all the information is in, click "Submit New Poll" and you're all done! Once a Mod approves it, it will show up in the forum.
