So, one instead tries certain spells to discern the nature and identity of the magic you are working with, then sets about trying the spells that are likely to solve the problem at hand. You must keep in mind that many tombs are thousands of years old and in different cultures, so it is entirely likely that the wizards of that time were not even using the same spells we do today." He polished his glasses and continued, "For that reason, it is easier to represent the magical properties of the spells as numbers, because the numbers have universal meanings you see, and through a strong, basic understanding of numbers associated meanings, one can accuratley portray unknown magic." |
