This ghoul had been pleasantly invisible, comforted by the sounds of human speech. The constant of it had made it unnecessary for it to want to make chaotic noises of its own. But now that a student in yellow robes has revealed its presence quite easily (the ghoul would have liked to see him fail), it was not pleased. This would explain its menacing glare.
