Of course Quinn knew who Aria was—Quinn kept up with fashion no matter where they were in the world. Watching runways and seeing the new designs gave them inspiration, and was also plain entertaining. On top of that, knowing that Aria was in their year while they were at Hogwarts made them feel connected to her in some way. They hadn't really talked much at Hogwarts outside of classes and a couple small pleasantries, but Quinn had been friendly with her cousin, Freddie. Quinn kept up with her through the eras of her designing and was very impressed with her work.
However, from the way Aria was looking at Quinn, they could tell Aria didn't really remember who they were, which was to be expected after so long. "Oh, sorry, you gave me a bit of a scare. You're Aria McLeod, right?"
Aria’s figuring out things was not going along nicely.
Usually, she was an ace {pun intended} at recalling faces - never mind the fact that she had met hundreds upon hundreds of humans due to her work. Not even when this person abruptly turned to face her did that help. Perhaps it was just a fan of hers. Or a fan of Caes or Darius who was jealous of her close relationship with them. It could also be someone resentful of her close friendship/ fake romantic relationship with Kel for some reason. At that moment, Aria was highly amused by her thoughts.
The young woman offered the person a friendly smile and was quite set on moving along with her plan of elegantly stepping into Madam Malkin’s. That, however, did not happen just yet. She halted, an apologetic look crossing her perfect features. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to.” While Aria was used to playfully scaring her nephews, accidentally startling someone was obviously completely different. “Yes, I am. Have we met? You seem quite familiar.” And their name was on the tip of her tongue but frustratingly evaded her. |
